Thrash metal fans, brace yourself for an onslaught of unrelenting aggression as Sinnery returns with their latest EP “Below the Summit”. Across five tracks, they harness the essence of true thrash, delivering a sonic storm that will leave fans and critics alike gasping for breath. The first single “Share This”, was written when Covid first started and it reflects on losing touch with what actually matters and being consumed by social media. The band comments:

“We’re super excited to finally release “Share This!.” It’s a song that injects extra energy into any venue we play it in and is probably one of the heaviest songs we’ve written. We wanted to combine new elements into our music and this one has some striking Sinnery riffs. “Share This” is about how technological progress has stripped us from our humanity and the way that social media is used to get some crazy messages into our heads where some of us cease to think for ourselves any longer.”

Sinney was formed in mid-2010 when Idan and Alon met at a music school in Herzliya, Israel, and were hitched together to play in a band, it didn’t lead anywhere right away, but after a few years of pursuing other interests, they eventually revived and the band took the form it has today. According to the band, writing “Below The Summit” was a very productive and consistent process, they really bled these songs out.

Sinnery believes that all of their existing fans will find that these five tracks implement what they are all about in the most concise way yet. From catchy choruses to parts heavier than ever before they feel this is their most complete work yet. “Below The Summit” is recommended for fans of Metallica, Power Trip, and Trivium.

“I’ve said this many times in the past, but one of the many things I love about this business is following the progress of bands as they come of age, mature and get better at their craft. What’s not to love about paying early witness to a bunch of folks gelling and heading on an upward trajectory as they make the move towards proverbial world domination? Israeli thrashers Sinnery are one such band. Gathering their Exodus, Testament, Gojira, The Haunted and post-St. Anger Metallica influences, the quartet from Herzliya, Tel Aviv will soon be releasing their second full length, Black Bile via Exitus Stratagem Records. This new tasty little rager pops the clutch and pumps the gas on modern thrash with a grizzled edge that improves upon the roots planted with their 2016 debut A Feast of Fools and their 2013 demo, Showing Teeth.” – Decibel Magazine

“Sinnery [Israel] Proves Thrash is NOT Dead in Groove-Oozing Cesspit of ‘Black Bile’” – Metal Has No Borders

““Death thrash” is the simplified genre description for what Sinnery do, but it’s the strong melodies and the variations among and within the songs that make the album such an adventure to experience from start to finish. Compared to the debut all those years ago, which was entirely written by vocalist/guitarist Alon Karnieli back when he was about 16-17 years of age, these tracks are more elaborate, more sophisticated, more reflective of different moods, while at the same time being more brutally extreme.” – No Clean Singing

“You just gotta love a band that knows exactly what the hell they wanna be. Sinnery bow to no one, instead turning heel to scissor kick you in the temple with battering ram riffs, suplexing drums, and neck-twisting vocals. You know the opening of Back to the Future where Marty McFly plays a single guitar chord on Doc Brown’s hyper amplifier and goes flying across the room from the resulting sound? “The Burning” provides the same effect regardless of the size of your chosen sound output device – you will be ragdolled and tossed around like a frisbee in a college quad by the quartet’s supreme rippage.” – Everything Is Noise

“I am old enough to have seen the likes of Metallica, Anthrax and others perform live at small venues in London. I’m also a huge fan of the new wave of thrash like Dust Bolt, Lost Society, etc. Sinnery is welcome inclusion with their aggression, energy, and obvious hunger. They might verge on Death Metal a tad with the vocals but that’s ok. With Matt Hyde (Machine Head, Trivium, Slipknot) having mixed and mastered this beast you know the sounds are gonna be right in your face. An excellent sophomore effort – please just keep thrashing!” – My Global Mind

“Sinnery straddle those lines between conventional thrash and modern/groove metal with enough solid musicianship and heaviness to align well with a multitude of touring possibilities.” – Dead Rhetoric

“For those that just want to bang heads and go nuts, there are songs like “The Burning,” “Who Will Be Eaten First,” and “Anti Tribe.” “Hanged From The Sun” and “Holes” flesh out their thrash by either toning down the speed or putting an emphasis on melody.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

VVON DOGMA I Launches Patreon Bass Lessons w/ 9-String Playthrough Video For “Day of the Dead”

New Album “The Kvlt of Glitch” Out Now!

VVON DOGMA I‘s music is not for the faint of heart. Their music is complex, challenging, and at times even unsettling. But for those who are willing to take the journey with them, the rewards are immense, especially if any are also interested in bassist Chaoth’s launched lessons via Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/BeyondBass. The band’s music is a sonic exploration of the human experience, headed by bassist Chaoth who wields an eye-catching nine-string bass. His prowess can be witnessed in the latest bass playthrough video for “Day of the Dead”, which comes off the newly released album “The Kvlt of Glitch”. He shares his thoughts on the single:

““Day of the Dead” is in the same vein as “Triangles”, but is definitely electronic-heavy. Crazy tapping and riffing in there. This song too had its name as a working title forever simply because I found that main tapping riff on November 1st, which in certain cultures is the Día de Muertos. Then it turned into a tale of lust and suicide… I think…”

When it comes to his influences, Chaoth cites that, for him, when it comes to metal he resides more in the Alt-Metal realm and vibes with modern low-tuned guitars that provide sexy rhythms. He says that it’s a beautiful thing to see guitar culture that keeps evolving after all these years of rock and roll despite the music scene being mainly electronic and synthetic.

He continues to explain that while Vvon Dogma I is still a very young outfit, “The Kvlt of Glitch” is way more produced than the modest “Communion” EP. It has proper album production and to him, it feels great to finally have a proper sound to his ideas.

A frantic barrage of intense low-end and throbbing synth awaits adventurous listeners especially those who enjoy Meshuggah, Igorrr, and Deftones.

Watch the bass playthrough for “Day of the Dead” via its premiere on Bass Player HERE.

“The Kvlt of Glitch” was released on May 5, 2023.

“The invigorating glitched out bliss they have on display here is as dense as it is rewarding, with nothing falling out of place, yet with everything shifting all the time. If “The Void” is any indication of what’s to come, I seriously cannot wait to hear the rest of The Kvlt of Glitch, when it lands on May 5th independently.” – Everything Is Noise

“Vvon Dogma I are an act I praised many, many moons ago and I’m stoked to do so again. The band lead by ex-uneXpect bassist Frédérick Filiatrault is mixing electronics, progressive metal, vocoder, grooves and more. This one is for prog nerds and bass geeks alike. Also, there’s a wild cover of Radiohead’s “2 + 2 =5″ and you won’t hear anything like it anywhere else.” – Metal Injection

“Vvon Dogma are back with a new video for their new record, The Kvlt of Glitch, in the form of the track “One Eye.” It features some seriously insane nine-string bass playing… Chaoth, their nine-string bassist, is a big driver behind their experimental sound and their popularity.” – Metal Sucks

“The album promises to push boundaries with its unconventional approach to music.” – Metal Insider

“The path has been challenging for this new Canadian juggernaut, but now awakened in their futuristic glory Vvon Dogma I has positioned themselves to emerge victorious in a way past efforts did not. Worship noise, don leather straps and desert goggles, turn down the lights—the Kvlt will consume you.” – Angry Metal Guy

“if you’re in the market for something a bit different and potentially challenging, then check this out. If you’re a fan of bands such as Scale the Summit, Synaptic Glitch, Cynic, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, Sleep Token, Unprocessed, and OU, then put this on your radar.” – Wonderbox Metal

“If you have a taste for more of a quirky and off kilter variety of djent-flavored contemporary progressive metal, this album is probably one that merits a check.” – Progressor

0 Venezuelan Atmospheric Death Doom STRATUZ Find Refuge w/ New Lyric Video “Left” Off New Album “Osculum Pacis” Out Now!

Venezuelan Atmospheric Death Doom STRATUZ Find Refuge w/ New Lyric Video “Left”

New Album “Osculum Pacis” Out Now!

L-R – Franklin Berroteran (Vocals, Keyboard), Geronimo Egea (Guitar), Leonardo Rangel (Baa), Diego Cabrujas (Drums)

Venezuelan atmospheric death/doom Stratuz unleashed their latest album “Osculum Pacis” in April 2022, which marked their return since going on hiatus in 2006 and reforming in 2019. The album is an immersion into the band’s own universe of sound, which will lead you to listen to each of the themes repeatedly and thus discover each sound layer and the sensations to awaken you.

“So many years away from the scene led us to experiment with other musical currents and the studio, which allowed us to nourish ourselves and thus reach the level we are at now. This record we hope will awaken your senses with its eleven tracks that ebb and flow through dreary gutturals, majestic choruses, and heart-pumping riffs.” says the band.

Lyrically, “Osculum Pacis” speaks of the abuses of the church and its deafening silence in the face of so many denunciations of abuse. It speaks of the manipulation of the masses, and injustice, but at the same time, it also speaks of the awakening of consciousness, of death as a process of transformation, and the need to change ourselves in order to rise up and banish our own miseries. It speaks of rising up aware of who we are.

Today, Stratuz shares their latest lyric video for the track “Left”, a song that reflects the emptiness that many people feel internally.

“This is one for those who know that feeling of abandonment, loneliness, neglect, and that lack of sense for being on this plane, taking refuge in their own sorrow.” adds the band.

Watch and listen to the lyric video for “Left” via its premiere on Doomed and Stoned HERE.

The band is currently preparing to continue promoting their latest album “Osculum Pacis” in Venezuela and other countries along with working on new material to follow in the near future.

“For those of you who have already heard our current work Osculum Pacis, you will have high expectations with the new stuff we will produce, however, we are convinced that we will surprise many again and it will be very well received.”

Stratuz live transmits a much more powerful energy than on recordings, and there are always comments that the band sounds much better in concert than on recordings, and this is because of the particular energy that can be appreciated in the shows. They are recommended for fans of Paradise Lost, Tiamat, and Moonspell.

The album “Osculum Pacis” was released on April 26, 2022, and is available on CD / Digital on Stratuzofficial.bandcamp.com, and Spotify.

OUR DYING WORLD Put A Cinematic Spin On Melodic Death Metal With “The Egregious Sins Of Humanity”

Los Angeles’ Our Dying World is geared up to unleash a furious new single “The Egregious Sins Of Humanity”, which comes on the heels of two punishing records “Hymns Of Blinding Darkness” (2022) and “Expedition” (2019). Initially, they focused on the death and thrash metal subgenres but are now moving into the cinematic and symphonic realms. With this new offering, they are looking to give the audience a bridge between the fast and insane side of metal, to the clever and meticulously crafted end of the classical and orchestral spectrum. This new single is deadly fast, with drums clocking in at 225 BPM and the guitars falling in line culminating in a dark sound that will catch the ears of discerning metalheads everywhere. The band comments:

“We’re taking what so many icons have given us through the generations and we’re doing our best to blend them in a tasteful and fun way that inspires and creates that feeling that raises the hair on your arms. We think the fans are going to enjoy the change in sound. We’ve always strived to take our sound to the next level and with the amount of diversity between the full band versions of the single and the orchestral version, there truly is something for everyone to enjoy.”

“The Egregious Sins Of Humanity” marks the next phase in the band’s development. It shows another level of musical maturity and has pushed each member to create more sophisticated parts and make them work together. Those who are drawn into what Our Dying World has created won’t have long to wait for more intense melodic death metal as the band has two more singles in production.

The band all love dark, melodic death metal, and most of them enjoy the symphonic black metal that they’re slowly creeping towards. There’s a bit of thrash and deathcore in some of the riffs they create, but they love the moody, melodic, and symphonic elements that stay with some of the most dramatic styles in metal. Their music is recommended for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Cradle Of Filth, and Children Of Bodom.

About: Over the last few years, Los Angeles’s Our Dying World has gone through a tremendous evolution of sound from the thrashy death metal of their debut EP Expedition to the symphonic and melodic keyboard-oriented stylings of bands like Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, and Dimmu Borgir.

Formed in 2018 by drummer/guitarist Tom Tierney (ex-Whiplash), the group has played shows all over the USA in their short time together, bringing their sound from the fabled Sunset Strip in Hollywood to the New Jersey Metalfest where they opened for Metal Mike of Halford.

One thing is clear from the young band as they prepare for the release of their new 2023 single “The Egregious Sins Of Humanity” to follow their highly praised sophomore album “Hymns Of Blinding Darkness ” they’ve come to stir the standards that hold the metal scene and redefine them.

Shared Stage with Abysmal Dawn, Abigail Williams, Swallow The Sun, Thrown Into Exile, Metal Mike of Halford.

“We’ll make you a solemn promise: Whatever condition you happen to be in now (unless you’re in a coma), the song and video we’re about to present will make you feel orders of magnitude more alive, accelerating your heart-rate, igniting your fast-twitch muscles, and spinning your head like a glorious top. And for those of you who want your music to attack like a pack of rabid dogs, it fills that need, too. The song is “Veil of the Reaper“, and it comes from Hymns Of Blinding Darkness, the forthcoming album by the Los Angeles band Our Dying World. The new album marks a significant departure from the music on their debut, Expedition, moving in directions that may spawn memories of such bands as Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, and Dimmu Borgir, and you’ll get a vivid understanding of that when you hear “Veil of the Reaper“.” – No Clean Singing

“Hymns of Blinding Darkness is an intricate album with lofty pursuits featuring a stunning band makeover.” – Decibel Mag

“As with many great evolutions, Our Dying World took all their best parts and made it huge. This album paces brilliantly and delivers in spades. An overall epic release of their own brand of hard rocking hymns.” – Heavy Mag

“Closing with the excellent Melodic Death Metal-esque piece “Veil of the Reaper”, Our Dying World manages to keep the listener’s attention with soaring guitar melodies, engaging keyboards, and overall solid songs that are well crafted but need more of a personal identity. There are definitely plenty of excellent things about this release that fans of the genre will greatly appreciate, so don’t be afraid and check out this band.” – Infernal Masquerade

“Fans who appreciate equal doses of orchestra and mosh pit will likely dig this passionate full-length debut.” – Angry Metal Guy

“One thing is clear from the young band as they prepare for the release of their second release; they’ve come to stir the standards that hold the metal scene and redefine them.” – Metal Temple

Montreal, QC – October 11, 2022

Prog Metallers SEVENTH STATION’s Next Single “The Ruthless Koba” Reflects A Soviet Union Childhood

New Album “Heal the Unhealed” Out November 7th

Slovenian progressive metallers Seventh Station will be presenting their second album “Heal the Unhealed” this coming November. The record is an international effort – rehearsed and recorded through five different studios on three continents ranging from the United States, Slovenia, and Turkey. Full of magnificent sweeps, heavy riffs, and intricate melodies, the band creates an eclectic progressive experience.

For this sophomore effort, band founder and guitarist Dmitri Alperovich wanted to bring his personal point of view from his roots growing up as a Soviet Union child before his family moved to Israel, before finally settling in Slovenia.

“I went through a lot of different circumstances and the processes of adaptation for each country – also resulting in anxiety and panic attacks after all these significant paradigm shifts. Heal The Unhealed is a personal reflection on these experiences and the psychological states they brought, voiced through different characters, including the primary actors of the conditions I had back in the Soviet Union,” adds Alperovich.

Today, Seventh Station presents a studio video for their third single “The Ruthless Koba”, which is an original arrangement of Dmitri Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony – 2nd Movement (op. 93).

Alperovich explains the song in further detail:

“This instrumental track is an original arrangement of a classical orchestral epic, Dmitri Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony, second movement. The arrangement was written by Dmitri Alperovich and it’s the second part of the Soviet Union / Stalin trilogy. The original movement is a description by Shostakovich, of the circumstances and conditions through Stalin’s evilness as the ruler of the Soviet Union. It was very important for us to represent the atmosphere of the original work, so we made a great effort to both respects and celebrate it through the arrangement decisions. Koba was the nickname that Stalin was given by his close friends and the name of the track is an attempt to show the duality between the “friendly” Koba and the ruthless dictator.”

Watch and listen to “The Ruthless Koba” via its premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

Following their debut album 2016’s “Between Life and Dreams”, Seventh Station’s sophomore record “Heal the Unhealed” comes out after two years of delay due to the Covid pandemic, and the band is excited to share its six creative and inventive progressive influenced metal songs. Ready to be discovered, it’s a hidden gem that was on the shelf way too long and its timing couldn’t be more appropriate. Overall, the album reflects historical events and their psychologies throughout its listening experience. From dreamy atmospheres to technical madness’, it’s a musically diverse record.

Vocalist Davidavi Dolev, who was involved for the first time with writing lyrics and vocal lines, explains the full length:

“I wanted to find the right ‘voice’ for the lyrics, trying to voice Dmitri’s musical ideas through surrealism and through the absurd. So, lyrically the point was to magnify even more the panic attacks Dmitri was trying to describe, through the light of harsh and incomprehensible historical events. This album could very much be a progressive assault on the ear, very much for the open-minded, not at all for the weak-hearted. Musically this album is choosing the long path rather than quick gratification but at the same time very satisfying for those who manage to go through this entire orchard.”

Applying the knowledge and techniques from classical music in to progressive metal, Seventh Station is an artistic progressive metal band that makes personal storytelling into an auditory event that must be experienced from beginning the end.

Recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Opeth, Seventh Station‘s “Heal the Unhealed” comes out on November 7, 2022.

The album pre-order is available at http://www.seventh-station.com.

About: Seventh Station is a progressive metal band based in Slovenia, led by Israeli Guitarist Dmitri Alperovich and Turkish Keyboardist Eren Başbuğ. Constructing their sound by fusing progressive metal with contemporary classical music, the band’s new album Healed the Unhealed is their second full-length record, released independently. Featuring an international lineup, Davidavi “Vidi” Dolev (Vocals), Jure Lopatic (Bass), and Grega Plamberger (Drums). On their new record, Seventh Station adds to their “on the edge” performances and compositions more blood, more sweat, and more tears.

Formed between the Academy of Music & Dance in Jerusalem and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Seventh Station released its debut album Between Life and Dreams in 2016. After relocating to Europe and a few line-up changes, Alperovich and Başbuğ knew no borders in the search for uncompromising compositions and musical executors, progressive and challenging. After several tours between the Middle East and post-Yugoslavia, the band gathered together on recording ‘Heal the Unhealed’. Inspired by the Second World War and the Soviet Union, the album is an hour-long reflection in the eyes of Alperovich, who was born in Minsk, Belarus, moved to Israel and eventually found his way to Slovenia. Featuring surrealistic epos, harnessing the band’s skillful abilities in order to express Kafkaesque situations, Heal the Unhealed examines resemblances between dictatorships and the personality disorders of an artist.

Seventh Station is now gearing up for their upcoming record Heal the Unhealed released on November 7th, 2022, along with a supporting tour through Europe and the Middle East, to be announced later this Fall.

“Sink or Swim” Calgary’s SYRYN’s New Single Takes You On An Epic Sea Tale

New Album “Heads or Tails” Out Aug 26th

Ft. Album Guests Amanda Kiernan (ex-The Order of Chaos, ex-Into Eternity),
Craig Carswell (Producer, Singer /Songwriter, Dorians Mirror, Court of Cardinals)

Performing July 30th at Loud As Hell Festival – Drumheller, AB

Set to perform at Western Canada’s decibel-breaking metalfest Loud As Hell on July 30th in Drumheller, AB, Calgary’s SYRYN is ready to seduce new fans and entertain current ones with their epic heavy metal tales of mermaids, sailors, and pirates. The band returns in 2022 with their second album “Heads or Tails” slated for release on August 26th. The band previewed their first single “Madness Becomes Me” off the record in 2021 and today they share their second sneak peek “Sink or Swim” accompanied by a music video. The track is fast-paced, filled with full-on thrash carnage that will make sure you’re fighting for your life. It’s a shift from the band’s first single and brings in some soaring ferocity.

“This song is about endurance. It’s about trials and tribulations and how we handle them. The uncertainties of life and how we navigate them. We internally fight with ourselves, our past, and our consciences daily. This is a prime example of processes we go through when we are scared or in the dark not knowing what lies ahead. We can’t go back, only forward. Will we sink, or will we swim?” adds the band.

“Sink or Swim” can be heard via its music video premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Syryn‘s sophomore album “Heads or Tails”, is a record full of growth, diversity, and a much more collaborative effort as a whole compared to the band’s debut full-length “Beyond the Depths” along with co-writing with guest vocalists Amanda Kiernan (ex-The Order of Chaos, ex-Into Eternity) and Craig Carswell (Producer, Singer /Songwriter, Dorians Mirror, Court of Cardinals). “Head or Tails” is more a themed album branching out into the Pirate/Sailor’s perspective and beyond. The band wanted to continue on the storytelling of a Siren’s journey, touching on as many aspects of it as they could fit onto the record (including the many emotions we go through in everyday life: Love, fear, anger, happiness, sadness, regret, etc.). Syryn also wanted to shake things up and create something a bit out of their regular musical realm, no two songs are alike and that makes the band more difficult to categorize. They try to incorporate all their influences into their own sound with a wide array of styles to adhere to many people’s tastes.

“This album is part of my soul. Not only is it melodic, but it is also menacing and malicious. It’s happy and fun, yet heartwrenching. Every piece of music written includes a piece of myself. How could it not, really. We write from experience, we write from knowledge, or dreams, or desires. I write from all of the above, and more. The beauty of this album as a whole is that we all get it. We all feel those things and want to represent them as best we can. Be it to cheer someone up, provide an awesome drinking song, be pissed off at something or someone, dig a bit deeper, stand up for ourselves, give a musical hug, or whatever the hell else we feel like. This album encompasses all of that and more. Music is a voice, and we are choosing to use it. This album was a blast to write! We’ve been holding on to these riffs for a long while, and hopefully, the anticipation is exactly what our fans were waiting for.” adds vocalist Sloan Voxx.

“Heads or Tails” will be released on August 26th.

0 V13 Video Premiere – StormbounD Share Their Optimistic Love Song “Flying High” Off Upcoming “December”

  • June 3, 2022

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 3, 2022

StormbounD Share Their Optimistic Love Song “Flying High” Off Upcoming “December”

Supporting Epica on June 7th in Tel Aviv

Hailing from Israel, StormbounD are adding to the symphonic metal subgenre with their latest single “Flying High”. This is the third single off their upcoming record “December”, which is slated for summer release. The band coins the album as a “melodic prophecy of wrath” – a journey that will take the listener into new territory while staying firmly planted in symphonic roots. This new single is a love song, that almost didn’t make it onto the album as the band further explains:

“It’s an optimistic love song, where the man is a protagonist that helps his loved one overcome her suffering caused by a mental illness. During the recording, we noticed that all the “Irish” elements made the original chorus we had for it sound a little depressing, so we wrote new lyrics and composed a new chorus. That instantly became a winner. We almost cut this song out of the album and now it’s one of the leading singles.”

The main songwriter for StormbounD is vocalist/guitarist Ofer Friedman, but they say that it’s really about working together as a team and that everything is collaborative. In terms of writing order, they continue to say that lyrics and musical composition go hand in hand, whichever is written first will lead the way.

The band got together in 2018, and after a couple of shuffles and instrument switches, they arrived at their current lineup – powerful frontwoman Yael Horwitz climbs octaves while vocalist/guitarist Ofer Friedman adds a layer of grit to complement her. Guitarist Shani Friedman fills in with harmonized riffs and the rhythm section of bassist Pavel Kleiman and drummer Yuval Partush get heart rates going and heads banging. Keyboardist Rotem Sadia injects orchestrations, strings, and melodies that push StormbounD into the sky.

The combination of soaring riffs, beautiful vocals and heavy beats show that StormbounD is creative, yet accessible. They are recommended for fans of Evanescence, Epica, and Within Temptation.

The video for “Flying High” is being premiered on V13 HERE.

0 Canada’s Deformatory Unveil Music Video For “Beyond The Abhorrence” Off “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 21, 2021

Canada’s Deformatory Unveil Music Video For “Beyond The Abhorrence” Off “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”

Music Video Premiere via NoCleanSinging

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Ottawa’s brutal duo Deformatory has crafted a maniacal and unconventional approach to extreme metal that has garnered the devotion of fans worldwide ever since their debut EP “A Prelude Of…” in 2011.

This year, they are releasing their third album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, with a sci-fi concept that picks up where 2016’s “Malediction” left off. Over time, as members joined and left the band, their sound has been reworked and redefined. Deformatory explains further:

“Initially, there were so many different ideas and flavours trying to get crammed into Deformatory that it never felt locked in. It’s safe to say that the new songs, especially for this album, are the closest Deformatory have ever been to truly sounding like itself.”

When asked what fans can expect from Deformatory, they reply:

“No frills. No bullshit. Just straight-up death metal. The goal is to leave people wondering what the hell just happened. A maniacal frenzy.”

The lyrics for this album are partly inspired by “The Scarlet Gospels” by Clive Barker’s and guitarist and vocalist Charlie Leduc’s own interpretation and expansion of the Hellraiser mythos. This is the foundation block that helped to propel the entire concept, which was uniquely crafted and independently developed.  The single and final track on the record, “Beyond The Abhorrence” starts to draw a conclusion to the predicament of an evil race of inter-dimensional light devourers find themselves in.

A sonically relentless death metal experience, Deformatory is recommended for fans of Morbid Angel, Origin, and Hate Eternal.

The music video for “Beyond The Abhorrence”, which was created by Riivata Visuals (who did the recent “Disruptor” music video for Fear Factory) can be viewed via NoCleanSinging HERE.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

About:
Deformatory is a death metal band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Forming in 2010, they set out to create an extreme sound, fusing together classic influences (Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, etc.) and their love for modern tech death. The result is a uniquely relentless blend of death metal that can only hail from the Northern hemisphere.

Deformatory independently released their full-length debut, “In The Wake of Pestilence”, in December of 2013. This pummeling 9-track debut has been exceptionally well-received by fans worldwide, and has been cited as being an “outstanding and monstrous debut album. Essential.” (Frank Rini – AllAboutTheRock, ex: Internal Bleeding), and “flawless in every way” (TheBloodShed).

Having shared the stage with bands like Cryptopsy, Napalm Death, Obscura, Beyond Creation, Gorod, Archspire, and Fuck The Facts, Deformatory is more than comfortable delivering their crushing brand of extreme metal to live, screaming, and sweaty audiences.

The band’s sophomore release, “Malediction”, was released worldwide via CDN Records in 2016, with additional singles “Once Upon the Cross” (Deicide cover), and “Myiasis” both in 2018. Since then, DEFORMATORY has been developing their 3rd full-length album entitled “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” which they plan to unveil in the Fall of 2021 as an independent release.

0 Reality Grey Guitarist Anto Addabbo Shares The Power of Shred In Playthrough Premiere of “Multidimensional Hollow” via GearGods

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 22, 2021

Reality Grey Guitarist Anto Addabbo Shares The Power of Shred In “Multidimensional Hollow” Playthrough

Playthrough Premiere via GearGods

“Beneath This Crown” Out May 7, 2021

Pictured L-R:

Alberto Pinto (Guitars)
Francesco Inchingolo (Drums)

Reality Grey has been making their rounds through the Italian metal scene since 2004, spending many years touring Europe and playing alongside bands such as Deicide and Municipal Waste along with three well-received full-lengths under their belts. This coming May 7th, they will be adding a new album “Beneath This Crown” to their legacy.

Until they can hit the stage again, Reality Grey hopes that “Beneath This Crown” will tide over fans with its aggressive, melodic vocals and razor-sharp guitar solos. According to them, the creative process for this release has been very meticulous and nothing has been left to chance. On this offering, the music has affected the lyrics; there is a lot of anger and a bit of sadness.

Over these last few months, in lead up to the album’s release, they have unveiled a few singles; one of those is the very melodic and complex“Multidimensional Hollow”, which features fast guitar solos and an epic finale.

Today, the band has teamed up with GearGods to showcase the shred on “Multidimensional Hollow” with a new guitar playthrough by Anto Addabbo, which can be viewed HERE.

Guitarist Anto Addabbo describes his thoughts on the track:

“When I wrote this song I was listening to a lot of sci-fi soundtracks from movies and I think it influenced how the track came together at the end, it has different feels throughout its length. Lyrically the song is about the struggle to succeed in life. Things don’t always go like you hope they will and not everyone knows how to cope with failure.”

Born in 1979, Anto Addabbo is a guitar player, songwriter, arranger, producer, and performer led into the music scene by pure passion and commitment.

Known as a vanguard of the Italian metal scene for his passionate and technical guitar technique, blending his love for the aggression of metal with the melodic phrasing of rock/fusion, Anto Addabbo is the founder of modern metal powerhouse Reality Grey, being now an endorsed artist for popular brands like Jackson Guitars, EMG Pickups, and MooerAudio.

From their debut in 2006, Reality Grey has enjoyed success as a ‘Modern Extreme Metal’ band, an assessment they both appreciate and challenge as they quest to define and pioneer their own signature sound in the metal scene.

Release after release, Reality Grey has proven to be a tight five-piece able to break the melodic death metal dogmas, producing a challenging and inviting hybrid of modern metal in its pure form: melody, brutal and complex.

Recommended for fans of As I Lay Dying, Scar Symmetry, and Lamb of God, “Beneath This Crown” will be out via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast as of May 7, 2021.

Reality Grey is supported by the Programmazione Puglia Sounds Record – 2020/2021 and REGIONE PUGLIA FSC 2014/2020 – Patto per la Puglia Investiamo nel vostro futuro.

About:
Hailing from South Italy, Reality Grey stands tall in the Italian metal scene. Formed in 2004, Reality Grey began their quest to redefine melodic death metal. As a tight-knit 5 piece band, Reality Grey incorporates a modern hybrid of extreme music: melody, brutality; blending complex, yet catchy songwriting. Fearsome death growls & clean vocals give way to razor-sharp guitar riffs and fusion-oriented solos, Reality Grey set out to create something all their own.

With the release of the debut full-length album “Darkest Days Are Yet To Come” in 2006, in the heat of the melodic death metal revolution, Reality Grey managed to secure their first record deal with Razar Ice Records USA. Songs like “Reality Grey” and “Never again” racked up hundreds of thousands plays on the old MySpace allowing the band to tour, gaining popularity well beyond the Italian borders. Following up with EP “Day Zero”, Reality Grey began to push their own boundaries. Ferocious, yet melodic, with a no-holds-barred songwriting attitude. Songs like “Day Zero” and “Slavery” emerged the band’s experimental side, synths, melancholic pianos, and acoustic guitars; perfectly fused with intoxicating sonic aggression.

After years of non-stop touring alongside bands like Deicide, Unearth, Municipal Waste, Sadist, Malevolent Creation, and more, the critically acclaimed “Define Redemption” is released by Bakerteam/Scarlet Records; sending the band on their first headline tour in Japan. Reality Grey, now having been featured on worldwide publications Metal Injection, Metal Hammer UK, Metal Temple, and Metal.de, released 2018’s “The Void”. Reviewed as “a complete and total aural devastation…” that “will blow your speaker out” by Metal Injection.

Reality Grey has completed work on their upcoming full-length due out May 7th 2021 (Blood Blast Distribution powered by Nuclear Blast). Looking ahead with tours and festival appearances on their sights, Reality Grey will continue to push ambitiously, earning their place among the pantheon of heavy music.

Now, having inked a worldwide deal with Extreme Management Group (EMG), the band says “We’re thrilled to announce that we have started working with Extreme Management Group! Definitely the right place for us. Big news is coming very soon. Stay tuned!” EMG said, “We are excited to be working with Reality Grey. They have some really fantastic music. We expect big things to come from this partnership.”.

“Melodic, aggressive and catchy, this track adds (Multidimensional Hollow) well placed synths and ambiance to an already well rounded sound, making it complex without being overcomplicated. The new album shows a marked evolution in the band’s sound, something that will intrigue current fans and entice new ones.” – Metal Injection

“Beneath this Crown, a creative step forward in their combination of NWOAHM from the early aughts, At the Gates-inspired metalcore and Scandinavian-flavoured melodic death metal.” – Decibel Magazine

“Reality Grey give off a viciousness and expertise hard to find in other bands. The instrumental expertise of each component is absolute, slighting touching tech-death side of acts like The Faceless but remaining ‘catchy’ in their complexity” – Metal Hammer

“It’s complete and total aural devastation with some seriously chunky moments, so it lives right up to what you’d expect a song called “The Void” to do.” – Metal Injection

“Reality Grey will serve the world of metal excellently both as an all round, no nonsense, metal act and as a brigde band for younger fans of heavy music” – Metalunderground.at

Canadian Prog Power RED CAIN Shares New Visualizer For “Precipice of Man”

Visualizer Premiere via Folk N’ Rock

New Album “Kindred: Act II” Out Now!

Canada’s progressive power gothic metal band Red Cain unleashed their new album “Kindred: Act II” digitally this past January with the CD physical release due out via Sliptrick Records later date this year.

Today, the band presents their latest visualizer for their track “Precipice of Man”.

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny adds:

“A ballad, but also…not? Certainly the most experimental track on this album, “Precipice of Man” was born out of focusing entirely on capturing the story and atmosphere related to the track from note one, and creating a musical landscape supporting those elements. Utilizing falsetto vocals and electronic touches not found in other tracks, “Precipice of Man” still keeps the weight and urgency of the album, but provides a necessary introspective and cautiously uplifting element.

Within the “Kindred” concept, this is a track that “takes stock” of the world of the album at the time, featuring three parts from the POV of three characters: the opening stanzas from Zalcoatl’s companion Juliet urging him to push on (“take my hand and step out onto the precipice of Man”), the Nameless Exarch’s ominous Latin chants in the middle of the track as he commands his hordes, and Zalcoatl’s meditation on the role of humanity (“all their songs, they weren’t meant for us…but we are all that’s here”). The track hits a crescendo with an uplifting, determined chorus from all our protagonists together – “There is life in the ashes, there is smoke upon the shore – and your weary hands hold the fate of more than you can know” – showing that there is still hope on the journey to the Sun.”

The video can be seen and heard via its premiere on Folk N’ Rock HERE.

Described as a vehicle of “Melancholy and Rage” and born out of the emerging music scene of Calgary, AB, 2017 YYC Awards Metal Recording of the Year winner Red Cain is a power/progressive metal project with Russian roots. With intricate songwriting, a heavy yet melodic feel reminiscent of progressive acts, and elements of Slavic myth and Russian paganism in the storytelling tradition of the cult of Veles, Red Cain champion a fluid, dynamic, and unique musical style centered around telling dark, conceptual Faustian sagas and constructing those into an unforgettable live experience.

Their new sophomore full-length continues and ends the band’s storytelling of their Kindred saga, which began with their 2019’s “Kindred: Act: 1”. Offering a mix of melodies and metallic styles in power, progressive and goth metal, Red Cain continues to deliver epic adventurous songs with tracks like Sunshine (Blood Sun Empire)”, “Demons”, “Kindred” and “Varyag and The Shrike”.

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny comments:

“Step forward in the ranks of the Varyag Mstislav, hear the chilling call of the Nameless Exarch, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Aztec warrior Zalcoatl in the depths of an ancient Ziggurat. Experimental, aggressive, yet melodic and recognizably Red Cain, the second act in the “Kindred” saga sets the bar even higher in the hybrid prog/power style we have made our own.

Inspired by the age-old Slavic rites honouring the Sun and continuing the storytelling tradition of Veles, this album is an amalgam of myths, genres, and emotions – and we could not be more proud to be able to share it with you.

All stories must come to an end – but this is one where the action and intensity is at its peak. This is a story where the stakes are lethal, where the music is loud and the melodies cut deep – where the frozen North wind chills the land and an eldritch specter hangs over the horizon. Above all, this is a story of humanity reaching out toward the Sun, come what may. This is our story of “Kindred” – and we are absolutely fired up to bring you with us on this mad ride.”

“From the proggy goodness of album opener “Kindred”, to the blast beats of “Baltic Fleet”, to the epic closer “Sunshine (Blood Sun Empire), there is something here for every fan of progressive power metal.  With this being Act II in Red Cain’s Kindred body of work, I really feel as though I entered a movie theater right in the middle of an epic saga. Each song is a journey in and of itself, but each also contributes to the overall fantastic voyage.  I will absolutely be purchasing Act I of this amazing tale and listen from start to finish, the way it was intended. Do yourself a favor and do the same!” – Metal Rules

“If you like your music melodic, mysterious, and gothic, with a progressive power metal base, then this is for you. This has been a joy to review and yet another band to add to my favoured list. ” – The Prog Space

“Zayarny is a powerhouse vocalist and the contortions he forces into Red Cain make for a very diverse record.. the talent behind the record is undeniable, and at the very least, Kindred proved far more creative and thought-provoking than most death metal records I’ve recently tackled. You should give it a shot — even if you’re not a big weenie..” – Angry Metal Guy

“Overall, ‘Kindred: Act II’ is an interesting mix of styles that combine together in technical wizardry to set the backdrop for the continued tales of the warrior Zalcoatl. There’s some unexpected musical influences that bubble to the surface, particularly the liberal use of electronic elements provides a futuristic, yet gothic, element to the tales. Vocally, there’s some clear inspiration from Kamelot going on here. They’re predominantly clean, but with a wide range between high pitched and deep passages. The guitar work is pretty varied as well and at times even hits a distinctly djent groove that seems to appear out of nowhere!… Fans of Kamelot and Mastodon alike will find some common ground with ‘Kindred: Act II’ (and Act I for that matter).” – Uber Rock

“These seasoned metal performers brought me to school with a clear cut album, delivered beautifully across seven tracks. The epic highs and lows of the album leave me wanting more… My hat is off to RED CAIN!” – Metal Temple

“With a flurry of progressive guitars, grandiose vocals and intriguingly wild effects, Red Cain burn brightly from the very start with the opening track, Kindred.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Songs alternate between melodic and more progressive portions in fine fashion. There is also a heroic aspect to the band that assures that they have some variety and also ties them to power metal. The entire affair is uplifting and does a good job getting the listener entranced in the music… a fun album and a very nice way to start the year off. It will also appeal to fans of bands from a number of different sub-genres.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“the crew here found yet another gem from Red Cain, one filled with cosmic terrors this time. Kindred: Act II provides us with an additional slice of that delicious metal geekery that this band is capable of. A record that makes complexity sound easy, even casual. And that’s a feat not many bands master these days anymore.” – Rock Music Raider
