Vancouver, BC, melodic death/thrash outfit Dead Asylum has unleashed their new music video ‘Forgotten Sacrifice’ and you won’t believe what they do with a leg and a cheese grater!

Directed and produced by up-and-coming creative powerhouse Joshua Keith Young, the video is dark and suspenseful with great visuals and a storyline that captures the band’s headbanging message in support of their debut album ‘General Carnage’ released in 2013, which is available on iTunes and CD Baby.

“We had a disturbingly fun time filming the video. All the actors and crew were great and unbelievably professional. Josh [director] was amazing at bringing out the best in the cast and definitely brought the best out in us. We can’t thank him enough for it! It’s exciting to be able to give people a look into the idea of Dead Asylum.” comments vocalist / guitarist Mike Lister.

Director Joshua Keith Young also comments:

“The creative team wanted to make sure the video told a story but embodied the band’s personality as well. ‘Forgotten Sacrifice’ does a great job of featuring the band while telling a captivating and dramatic story that will affect people on an emotional level. Those words don’t often come to mind when describing a metal video, but the cast and crew are confident that when viewers see what’s being held captive in a barren dog crate, they’ll likely feel the same.”

Bio

Dead Asylum formed in Vancouver, BC at the end of 2011, featuring vocalist/guitarist Mike Lister, vocalist/guitarist Tyler Forde, bassist Tyler (Shit) Meierhofer and drummer Samantha Landa. Dead Asylum’s style spans the spectrum of metal–combining elements of thrash and death with melodic and grooving overtones–and echoes elements of band influences such as Kreator, Amon Amarth and Exodus.

Dead Asylum has become known for its throat-gripping riffs and rhythms and its energetic, balls-to-the-walls live performance. Dead Asylum “is one of those bands that’s hit the ground running” (Abort Magazine). On top of tour dates around the Western US and Canada, they’ve shared the stage with high-profile thrashers Toxic Holocaust and the legendary Anvil, and shared festival dates with Suffocation, Bison BC and Holy Grail.

Heavy and melodic, the eight tracks on Dead Asylum’s debut album ‘General Carnage’ (2013) were produced by Nick Engwer and Brady D and mixed/mastered by Chris “Hollywood” Holmes (Korn). Songs range from thrashy headbangers, to technical compositions, to chantable, heavy metal anthems. Lyrical themes include revolution and political uprising, the apocalypse, and—as the band name alludes—twisted facets of the human psyche.

“General Carnage is an impressive debut, crisply recorded and crushing….The disc features a menagerie of blistering blast beats, duelling cookie monster/ gruff hardcore vocals and weaving guitars riffs, emulating Kreator and Amon Amarth.” – BeatRoute

“Dead Asylum has quickly gained reputation and fan base in the local metal scene. Dual high and low guttural vocals are strong and fiercely brutal.” – Abort Mag

“an impressive debut (General Carnage) as the recording and sound quality is second to none. The dual high and low gutturals supplied by Lister and Forde are pretty fierce. Meierhofer has a great groove on the six string bass and Landa’s drumming ability is imposing. Don’t tell her she hits like a girl because she can blast beat with the best of them…once she’s finished blasting your face, of course.” – Gun Shy Assassin

DECHE CHARGE

While far too many bands falsely claim allegiance to “anti-music”, Quebec City, Canada’s DECHE-CHARGE have remained true to their essence over the last two and a half decades, consistantly obliterating any semblance of what could be considered listenable; alienating even the most hardened extreme musick enthousiasts. Obscene Extreme will be no exception as these “deche-cores” will hit the stage for what promises to be the most unrehearsed and ridiculous performance ever seen on an OEF stage!!!

Montreal, QC prog power metal band Elderoth has teamed up with Metal-Rules.com to premiere their second single ‘My Future’ from their forthcoming sophomore release‘Mystic’ due out April 28th to follow up their 2012 self-titled debut. Check it out at thislocation.

Founding member and mastermind behind Elderoth, Collin McGee comments:

“When I wrote My Future. I was actually having a lot of issues going across my mind. Mostly things about moving on from past relationships or friendships. I never quite wrote a song about this kind of subject before but I find it’s always interesting to try something new. Especially just as long as I find it’s natural and appropriate. The overall sound of this song is a little bit inspired from In The Rain from the first album, except with a few new dynamics to it. Some of the more obvious new dynamics would be the far eastern influences and the added syncopation. Overall, I’m very satisfied with how this song turned out. It’s definitely a song that sticks in my mind.”

Engineering a unique style of metal music with oriental instruments from East Asia,Elderoth intertwine modern North American and European styles in a must-hear album with each track flowing across to the next to create a dynamic taste for fans. Featuring intense guitar licks, complex keyboard arrangements and powerful rhythms, Elderothdelivers a challenging sound that is catching the attention of metal aficionados, guitarists and professional musicians around the world for its pinnacle of musicianship, composition and technical ingenuity.

The band’s 2015 lineup features founding member Collin McGee on guitars and vocals with Xavier Sperdouklis on bass, Vincent Harnois on guitars and Jessy Normand on drums. Mcgee, the man behind the vision of Elderoth is the primary author, composer, lead guitarist, and singer. Through his years of being self-taught, studying music theory and composing endlessly, McGee has mastered composition on guitar and other instruments at a world-class level, along with writing lyrics and developing his vocals to a professional level that stands out in the audio mix both live and in the studio.

“Nerds from our great neighbors from the North can rock!  Double XP is a lot more than a couple of gamers with instruments.  Their upcoming album goes to show that gamers really do have feelings, and they are not ashamed to talk about em!” Royal Flush Magazine

“Their debut album “721835” consists of a fairly ballsy bunch of well-written alternative rock ‘n’ roll songs with cheeky riffs and ambitious vocal melodies. The lyrics might very well have been inspired by nerdy things and contain plenty of references that can be cherished by fellow nerds, but at the same time they are written in a way that succeeds in communicating extremely relatable feelings and experiences.” – Rock Freaks

“They’re a quartet who embrace their nerdy credentials, and luckily for those who may be concerned also know how to knock out some chunky riffs and melody lines.” – Screamer Magazine

“I recommend checking out “721835” if you enjoy rock music, Fall Out Boy, or simply love the combination of music and gaming/comic books/trading cards/etc.” – Canadian Beats

“Good songwriters…I think [Double Experience] are next. They’re going to do very well and I’m very excited about that.” – Jayson DeZuzio, producer (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Four Year Strong)

“The most genuine and down to earth band I’ve ever had to work with, load-in and sound checks were quick and easy with this bunch and they are some of the most hard working guys we as a venue have ever had the pleasure of the working with. Having traveled so far, and never played Swansea… prior to the show we were very unsure as to which way the event would turnout. But sure enough, [the band] did not disappoint. Playing to a pretty full room of Welsh fans singing and dancing along, throwing in a cover by Queen to really get them going. As a promoter and venue owner, I would recommend booking this band to anyone in the world, they definitely will not disappoint.” – William Sheldon, Promoter & Venue Owner – Static Bar, Swansea UK

“It’s rare that a band like Double Experience come along so we’re going to cherish them while they can still call themselves an ‘upcoming’ band because it won’t be long before they’re playing sold out massive shows. Great band, highly recommended.” – Andrew Dutton, Promoter – The Square, Harlow UK

NoCleanSinging.com – Helleborus – Coils – http://www.nocleansinging.com/2015/03/26/an-ncs-premiere-and-a-free-download-helleborus-coils/

Named after a gorgeous, but poisonous flower that blooms in winter, Manitou Springs, CO based Helleborus is the new creation of brothers Jerred & Wyatt Houseman (both former members of Execration). Pushing their creative freedom to new levels, the psychedelic black metal project is Dionysian in nature and explores themes of sexual mysticism, Qabalah & the Esoteric.

For their debut to the metal world, Helleborus has teamed up with NoCleanSinging.com for the exclusive premiere and free download of their track ‘Coils‘ available at the following link here.

“Coils is the most universal offering in our continuous developing sound. It’s driven by a dark stream of inventive instrumental extravagance and the kind of creative power that romanticizes the listener. With catchy melodic grooves and blackened chords we desire to express something fresh and unconventional to our audience. We explore a lot of contrasting resonations that you may not expect to hear from a traditional black metal outfit. This is only one song we have planned from our upcoming album; each will tell their own cryptic story. We are extremely proud of this project and look forward to developing it further with fans watching and listening.” comments vocalist / lyricist Wyatt Houseman.

‘Coils’ is one of many songs the brothers plan to unleash on their soon to be finished debut full length ‘The Carnal Sabbath’, a release that combines black, death and doom metal with a vast ambiance. Venturing outside the conventional colors of traditional black metal, Jerred & Wyatt plan to deliver a new aura of sound where fans of The Devil’s Blood, Satyricon, Necorphobic, Belphegor, Blut Aus Nord are sure to connect with them.

Album Band Line Up features: Wyatt (vocals, lyrics) & Jerred Houseman (producer, all instruments)
