NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 3, 2020

For fans of Manowar, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Iced Earth, Saxon

Lycanthro Announce Canadian Tour Dates + Hyperspace Metal Festival

New Album “Mark of The Wolf” Coming 2020 via Alone Records

Ottawa power thrash quartet Lycanthro announce they will be hitting the road this coming April for dates across Central and Western Canada along with performing at this year’s Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, BC, which includes Helion Prime, Iron Kingdom, Unleash The Archers, Immortal Guardian, and Power Glove among its three-day line-up. (tour dates listed below)

Combining power, thrash and speed metal with lyrical themes based on classic horror and mythology, Lycanthro unleashed their debut EP “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” in 2018. The EP introduced the band’s heavy, yet melodic sound, with influences from both European and American power metal styles, along with classic thrash. Frontman James Delbridge’s howling high vocals meshed with piercing guitars, a booming rhythm section as well as uses of instruments such as piano and classical guitar forged a lasting powerful sound on their local metal scene and beyond.

With 2020 kicking into full throttle with their first-ever Canadian tour, Lycanthro found it to be perfect time to announce the release of their first full length “Mark of The Wolf” via Greek label Alone Records later this year.

Vocalist/guitarist James Delbridge comments:

“This album will be a diverse listening experience. Even though everything in one way or another is under the umbrella of power or thrash metal, there is something for everyone on ‘Mark of The Wolf’ in terms of melodic metal. There are soaring high vocals, epic guitar solos, lots of harmonies, heavy chugging riffs, a few odd instruments, and even a breakdown or two. Lyrically, the content is varied and we think fans will appreciate the different dimensions this album goes to. Some songs are homages to different stories from pop culture and media that we hold near and dear to our hearts, other songs are meant to bring the listener on a journey through the worlds within the song, and others are just to the listener can marvel in the epicness of metal!”

“Mark of the Wolf” will feature 10 high voltage tracks, all recorded once again at Wolf Lake Studios in Lac-des-Loups, Quebec. The album was mastered by Jack Kosto, who is best known as the lead guitarist for power metal band Seven Spires. Lycanthro also brought in a professional chamber choir for the song ‘Fallen Angels Prayer’, which is a planned single off the full length.

Delbridge adds:

“It’s always a unique experience to record there, as essentially, it’s a studio in a cabin in the woods. The area is very atmospheric and there’s isn’t that many outward distractions around so we can be productive and focus on the music. It’s like a camping trip mixed with recording!”

Lycanthro‘s debut EP “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” is available for stream and download on the following platforms:
Spotify
Bandcamp
Apple Music

Rockshots Records: Kult Of The Skull God New Video ‘Black Magick’; Debut Album “The Great Magini” Out May 8th

Kult Of The Skull God unveil their first single and video ‘Black Magick’ off their forthcoming debut album “The Great Magini” due out May 8th, 2020 via Rockshots Records. Taking inspiration from the titans of rock including Danzig, The Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath they have combined slick heavy riffs with smooth yet haunting vocals that are perfectly demonstrated on the first track ‘Black Magick’.

Seeking a pure rock n’ roll sound away from the electronic elements of their previous band, Army Of The Universe’s vocalist Lord Kalidon and guitarist Davide Tavecchia have returned with Kult of The Skull God. Armed with the drummer Joey Amato they have energized their infrangible attitude, fury, and raw talent to save the world from mumble rappers, auto-tuned pop stars, and rock mediocrity.

The band comments:

“Black Magick is about the mysterious and powerful power of feelings, which we cannot explain, but like magic, we can feel. The song has a Rolling Stones vibe with a modern twist.”

“Despite sparking synapses associated with a variety of high-octane hard rock and metal birthed in the days of yore, this self titled debut EP genuinely feels fresh-faced. Pull on your leather, put the pedal to the metal, and smell the gasoline …” – Sleeping Village Reviews

“One of the best bands to come out of the San Diego area and another great signing by Metal Assault Management. These tracks fill you with that 70s-80s Heavy Metal you love and need in your life, but it’s updated just enough to give their own flavoring. What makes this even better is that this band is two brothers, Eddie and Sebastian Vazquez. It’s great to see family that gets together for the power of metal. They are going to go far if they are capable of this so early in their career.” – That Drummer Guy

“Considering the relative short time together as Tzimani, it’s easy to gauge the band’s great instincts when it comes to songwriting, performance, and execution. They have all the tools to get the beer flowing and the fists flying high, and that’s the name of the game to building an audience in the metal landscape.” – Dead Rhetoric

“The song [Overdrive] is a thrashing speed demon of a hit, only ever slowing down to release a soaring refrain with a powerful vocal delivery. The guitars are downright filthy in their approach, ripping through solos and arpeggios with ease, not to mention the blistering pace of the verse riff.” – New Noise Magazine

“This was only an EP, can you imagine how their full length will be like? This nice little teaser will have your speed demon wanting more.” – Ugh Metal

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 28, 2020

For fans A Day to Remember, Cane Hill, Billy Talent, Avenged Sevenfold

Diamonds On Neptune Share Their Raging New Single ‘Erase’

Diamonds On Neptune have their next single to unleash, ‘Erase’, a track that is much more aggressive and is a knockout punch compared to their previous song ‘Catawampus’ released this past December. A fusion of genres, adding elements that can be recognized and interpreted in many ways,  Diamonds On Neptune shuns sonic consistency and embraces sounds that paint a picture of an experience or a sensation that ranges all emotions; fear, anger, paranoia, euphoria, pride, and acceptance. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where they stand, but fans of A Day to Remember, Cane Hill, Billy Talent, and Avenged Sevenfold are sure to take a liking to them.

The band comments:

“This one is a rager, it’s unhinged and animalistic. There is less of a message we are trying to push here and more of a sensation, we hope the crowd will let loose and that chaos will ensue. We get asked about this one a lot and we are very excited to finally be putting it out there.”

The band is premiering the video for ‘Erase’ via TheCirclePit YouTube channel HERE.

For those who enjoy the single, take note that Diamonds On Neptune expects to release a steady stream of singles throughout the coming year.

Album pre-order – http://bit.ly/essentia_preorder

The Melbourne singer/songwriter has made her mark on the rock and metal scene with the release of her debut single ‘Monster’ in 2016, featuring guitar work by Brett Garsed (John Farnham Band) along with her 2019 follow up track ‘Lacuna’ distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Warner Music Group (Australia) and is the lead single off the upcoming album.

The single garnered a lot of media praise and created an opportunity for Victoria K to support Swiss folk metal giants Eluveitie for their May 2019 tour date in Melbourne, a performance that had the crowd chanting for an encore.

Although the album was originally a solo project, it has now developed into the current band structure with each member bringing their own energy and experience to the collective.  The band is looking forward to collaborating on future releases and is now heavily focused on the release of this debut full length in April.

Victoria K adds:

“I really hope that when our fans and new listeners hear the album they can all find something that they connect with on a deeper level.  Whether that connection is found from within the music itself or from specific lyrics, I really hope they find something familiar, which can connect them to some experience they have had, invoking memories and feelings, eliciting an emotional response.”

Victoria K‘s talented songwriting and compositional influences include Evanescence, Within Temptation, Nightwish and Kamelot amongst other current bands in the European metal scene and her music have been likened to be a blend of these influences. Victoria K has racked up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube with her own original creations and through featured videos alongside a number of talented musicians covering a plethora of songs. Victoria K‘s covers include Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper”, Nightwish’s “Last Ride of the Day”, Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” and Kamelot’s “Insomnia”, the latter of which received attention from the band themselves on Twitter and led to a meeting of talents when the American power metal band found themselves in Melbourne during their 2018 ‘The Shadow Theory’ Australian tour.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 26, 2020

For fans of Arch Enemy, Unleash the Archers, Amon Amarth, Behemoth

Fly Away With Lutharö’s Captivating Single “Wings of Agony” Off Upcoming EP Out March 27th

Lutharö, from Hamilton, Canada is unleashing their sophomore EP “Wings of Agony” on March 27th and this release promises to be more innovative and imaginative than the last one. Lutharö stepped out of their comfort zone for this recording and they anticipate a solid reception from current and new fans.

Foreshadowing the EP comes a video for the single and the title track. The roller coaster of a song will bring out the worst of your anxiety and your deepest inner peace within six minutes. It is the perfect introduction to the new era of Lutharö that is darker than before, but still melodic and embodies the same amount of energy listeners have come to expect.

Lutharö‘s lyrics all come from a personal place and they hope that fans will find a connection to the songs. As they state:

“’Wings of Agony’ is a song about the never-ending struggle to pursue a passion. In one moment you feel like you are soaring on cloud nine, things are going your way and you exude confidence. Then at the flip of a switch, you enter a moment of darkness where you feel lost and hopeless never knowing when the light at the end of the tunnel will return. This is the never-ending cycle we embrace because we would rather be tortured in the process of pursuing our dreams than to give up on them. We want the fans to be able to relate to the strong message on this album and find empowerment from it.”

Lutharö is suggested for fans of Arch Enemy, Unleash the Archers, and Amon Amarth.

“…you will experience non-stop excellent, energetic, forward looking mix of speed, thrash and melodic death metal…Lutharo deserves to be noticed…” – Metal Reviews

“an extremely fun, crisp and pleasant fusion of 80’s Heavy Metal with modern-day Melodic Death Metal the likes of The Agonist and Arch Enemy. Spearheaded by the talented she-wolf Krista Shipperbottom, whose vocal style, hair and looks remind me of The Agonist’s stunning frontwoman Vicky Psarakis, the band delivered a solid performance for the fans.” – The Headbanging Moose (Live Review – Toronto – 2018)

0 Out Now! Newfoundland Black Metal Duo ARTACH “Chronicles of A Black Winter”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 25, 2020

For fans Immortal, Satyricon, Darkthrone, Celtic Frost, Venom, Bathory

Out Now! Newfoundland Black Metal Duo ARTACH “Chronicles of A Black Winter”

Artach, an epic and raw two-man black metal band/project (Sruthán: Guitar, Bass, Fíochmhar: Battery, Vokills) based in St. John’s, Newfoundland have unleashed their debut album entitled “Chronicles of a Black Winter”. Just released on February 24th, the full length consists of nine songs including “When The Forest Ends” for which the band released a music video for in the fall of 2019 plus a cover of Celtic Frost’s ‘Jewel Throne’ as a bonus track.

Digging into the inspirations of a few of the songs, the band reveals that the typical “evil” lyrics were not territory they wanted to tread. Instead, a near-mystical connection to the land and in particular to the northern climate of their home is where their hearts lie. The title for the song “When The Forest Ends” was inspired by the recent Amazon rain forest fires. Global climate change also inspired the track “Permafrost” with the twist of what ancient contagion may be unleashed as the arctic warms. It’s not all environmentalism though, as songs like “Frozen in Time” have more of a sci-fi leaning, and “Fire & Ice” questions the end of the universe.

The band adds:

“We have been crafting music for just 9 months and we have been very prolific and felt it was time to release a selection of 9 tracks on an album. We have more songs recorded and more written, and we will keep pumping them out as we head towards a second album. We hope you enjoy our old school black metal approach as we keep things raw and honest.”

Since their formation in the spring of 2019, Artach has been consistently releasing new music. Being from the foggiest, snowiest, wettest, windiest, and gloomiest capital city in Canada, one should not be surprised that this fuels the creation of Black Metal.

“Chronicles of a Black Winter” can be streamed and downloaded at the band’s Bandcamp and YouTube.

Calgary’s Benevolent Like Quietus release their second single ‘The Rise and The Fall’ off the upcoming debut album “Kill The Bliss”. The brooding quintet has been working on this album for quite some time and are very excited to show off the product of their hard work which includes everything from writing to recording and mastering.

The album gives a well-rounded introduction to the Canadian band, encompassing everything from heartbreak, death, depression, to religious criticism. The second single starts with a modern goth rock feel right out of the gates. BLQ explains the track in further detail:

“Layered with a dynamic vocal melody and captivating, poetically descriptive lyrics describing a battle of mortal love and immortal life.  The chorus is probably the catchiest on the album. It’s the perfect blend of rhythm, beat, vocal melody and a lead picking arpeggiated chords that give the chorus a lot of dynamic and depth.”

Listen to ‘The Rise and The Fall’ via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

Also, check out their first single ‘Dawn of Rust’ here.

About:

Hailing from the cold, dark winter nights of Calgary, Canada; Benevolent Like Quietus brings forth a bounty of brooding, goth rock-influenced melodic metal. Laden with heavy riffs, catchy melodies and crushing breakdowns, the 5-piece metal act lyrically exploits the joy in sorrow and strife within life, love and death.

Dabbling in gloom, BLQ is a dark, musical metaphor for the sweet kiss of death. Collectively drawing influences from far and wide across the metal and rock spectrum BLQ has worked tirelessly to craft their own unique sound within the Canadian music scene.

Keen to revisit the era of 90s European goth/melancholic rock, BLQ is a heavy and brooding whirlwind of emotion and melody. Each song starts with Ryan Spencer (drums) who writes the music on guitar and together with Daniel Louden (vocals) put together the basic guitar and vocal structures before being worked through by the rest of the band, Ty Frederick (guitar), Killian Murphy (bass), and Matt Springer for the final breath of life.

Despite the melancholic lyrics and themes, Benevolent Like Quietus is straightforward and energetic music. No gimmicks, no BS, just 5 guys playing their hearts out and creating a moment.

Having the pleasure of sharing the stage with touring acts such as Katatonia, Wednesday 13, All Hail The Yeti, Final Drive, Caspian and Invidia along with being nominated in 2018 for Metal Recording of The Year by Calgary’s YYC Music Awards, BLQ continues to build on their live performances delivering a healthy dose of heavy, gloomy tunes to their audiences with no foreseeable end in sight. Their debut album “Kill The Bliss” is slated for release on March 13th, 2020.

“it is simply impossible not to walk away from Kill The Bliss without a huge smile on your usually stern-faced dial after close exposure to this album. It’s hard to imagine a better album of its type emerging from the gloaming this year, so why not leave me to my reveries and just hurry on and secure a copy as soon as you can. Satisfaction’s guaranteed, I promise.” – Sentinel Daily
