A true spectacle to be witnessed, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT is a daring adventure metal quintet that has been delighting their audiences and fans all over the world for ten years. To continue on their epic quest of bringing spectacular and entertaining metal to global fans these power metal warriors will be unleashing their 7th album “Shadows From The Past” on August 24th. In celebration of this new beast from their discography, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT will be performing the album live for the first time at this year’s MAD WITH POWER FEST in Madison, WI on August 25th.

Organizing the festival for its second year, LOTT vocalist Fang VonWrathenstein comments:

“Mad With Power Fest is our yearly chance to bring the strongest, bravest, and most WORTHY heavy metal bands from all around the country under the same roof. This year’s lineup will be an absolutely amazing menagerie of power, thrash, and heavy metal, and should not be missed by anyone! And of course, it wouldn’t be Mad With Power Fest without filling the venue to the brim with free-play arcade and pinball games! We’ve got a number of exclusive, hand-made, and indie arcade cabinets coming this year, which means you’ll ONLY be able to play these games at the fest! In addition to the upcoming release of “Shadows From The Past”, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT started a kickstarter campaign that went live on June 1st. The band has now reached their objective of $6,000 plus their 2nd stage stretch goal, which will now gives those who pledged over $100 or $25 added to any already made pledge to receive a red blood double vinyl copy of the new album along with multi-color “Shadows From The Past” custom guitar picks.

The band are still asking fans to answer the call to help them make their next extra stretch goal, which includes a full color zip up hoodies (design TBA) (for any pledge of over $250 or $50 added to any already made pledge).

Since climbing out of a volcano in 2008, shrouded in metal and ash, Lords of the Trident have gone to battle on many stages across the USA, playing and headlining a plethora of festivals and have an admirable arsenal of recordings in their inventory. The Lords of The Trident have released three full albums: “Death or Sandwich” (2009), “Chains on Fire” (2011), “Frostburn” (2015) , three EPs: “Plan of Attack” (2013), “A Very Lords of the Trident Christmas” (2014), “Re:Quests” (2015), and two live DVDs, along with numerous compilation singles.

Their live shows include medieval costumes, pyrotechnics, confetti cannons, guitars set ablaze, and of course, excellent technical musicianship that challenges the standard for how live music should be experienced. Since 2010, Ottawa’s A SCAR FOR THE WICKED (ASFTW) has been clawing their way through the Eastern Canadian metal scene playing fast, evil and energetic songs inspired by horror shows and films. Their favorite themes encompass zombies, demons and other evil creatures and for them, each song is executed as a short horror story accompanied by heavy music. Like most horror stories this is not for the faint of heart.

Fueled by a passion to bring horrific and grotesque sounds to their fans, A SCAR FOR THE WICKED are unleashing their third EP “The Unholy” on June 29, 2018. Full of face melting heaviness and a dark and evil atmosphere that offers more sickening death metal to the unsuspecting world, “The Unholy” follows their 2012 Machiavellian hymn to the dead “Scars” and 2014’s brutal assault “The Necrobutcher”.

Making an impact on the Canadian’s 80s thrash scene, Ottawa legends INFRARED returned this year to cement and carry on their own legacy with their new album “Saviours” featuring all new music to follow their EP “No Peace”, which featured tracks all written in the 80’s and only recently heard by fans in 2016. Featuring eight brand new tracks, “Saviours” is thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight, which is clearly evident in the band’s new music video “All In Favour” being premiered on Bravewords.

“Infrared is extremely excited to release our sophomore album “Saviours”. This has been in the works for about 2 years now and is something we are very proud of. “Saviours” has fulfilled a goal of ours to create some brand new music the way we know how, with an old school 80s thrash feel along with a contemporary sound that encompasses our influences beyond the 80s.

While not explicitly a concept album, the album is heavily themed on the idea of false “Saviours” who claim to do good for others but are really self serving in their intentions. We like to inspire independent thought and a cautious view of the intentions of those who promote themselves as leaders. This message has been captured with 8 brand new songs that highlight the diversity in which this band makes music. While all songs stay true to our roots, they each offer a piece of what Infrared has to offer our fans.
