“Power metal kings, Songs about sci-fi movies, What more do you need? ” – Metal Injection
“It’s the rare power metal record where the artist is as confident in handling its subtle, reserved material as it is its neck-thrashing, riff-centric centerpieces, and Dire Peril manages both aesthetics with more care than the bulk of bands in its genre. As far as straightforward power metal goes, this may well be the very best that 2018 has to offer. ” – Angry Metal Guy
“a sci-fi infused power metal monster. Ashcraft adds a more galloping, Iced Earth, huge and grand guitar riffing to the mix and of course Yelland’s vocals are phenomenal.” – Metal Marks The Spot
” Dire Peril’s first full-length album is an excellent display of American power metal.” – Indy Metal Vault
“Bulletproof songwriting, soaring vocals, tremendous solos, exceptional song-to-song variety, and an uncanny ability to be both a little bit tongue-in-cheek and deadly serious at the same time: what in the goddamn hell more could you ask for? This is a marvelous album. ” – Your Last Rites
“this may well be the best Power Metal has to offer in 2018.” – Metal-Temple
“With their full-length debut, The Extraterrestrial Compendium, they have gone above and beyond my expectations, producing one of the best power metal albums of the year, which manages to be both very dynamic and consistently engaging throughout. I especially recommend it for fans of the harder hitting, more guitar driven side of power metal, as there’s a ton of thrash influence here, as well as a fair bit of classic heavy metal and some slight prog leanings. Everything is done well, with vocalist John Yelland giving the best performance of his career, and overall, it’s an amazing album from start to finish.” – My Global Mind
““in its conceptual and musical depth, Dire Peril’s The Extraterrestrial Compendium is rather epic and entertaining guitar-forward power metal…power metal and sci-fi go together like beer and pizza. Get it. You won’t be disappointed.” – Dangerdog Music Reviews
“a wonderful album that will take you on an intergalactic journey through many popular sci fi movies. It is an album that is full of melodic vocals and kick ass guitars. ” – Baby Dolls and Razor Blades

SHORT BIO:
Dire Peril was an idea that goes as far back as Jason Ashcraft’s (guitars, bass) high school years. The band’s name was inspired by a PC game he used to play, called “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline”, which has stuck with him ever since.
Originally formed in 2009, the band went on to create three EPs: Astronomical Minds, Queen of the Galaxy and Through Time and Space, and proceeded to play a handful of local shows, as well as a few out of town gigs. In 2015, feeling like things just weren’t as they should be, Ashcraft decided to take a step back and take a hard look at where the band was headed.
Inspired by all manner of science fiction, especially classic sci-fi movies, Dire Peril regrouped as a double piece; Ashcraft was joined by singer John Yelland, and together they began working on the debut album titled “The Extraterrestrial Compendium,” set for release on November 9, 2018. Recruiting a live line up enabled them to start playing live shows including an upcoming North American tour with Seven Kingdoms allowing the American sci-fi power metal band to reach its final form and share their dark, aggressive adventure with the masses.

The band’s name was inspired by a PC game he used to play, called “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline”, which has stuck with him ever since. Originally formed in 2009 as the name under which Ashcraft used to perform covers, the band wouldn’t see it’s true form until around 2012, when Jason joined forces with the Bay Area powerhouse vocalist Norman Skinner.

Heavy Metal Trio AxMinister Premiere Music Video “Salvation” via Metal-Rules
New EP “The Crucible of Sin” Out Now!

L-R – Tim Smith (Guitars), Nicholas Klaus (Vox/Bass Guitar), Bas von Bismark (Drums)
Metal warriors on a holy quest, Toronto’s AxMinister‘s new heavy metal pounder “The Crucible of Sin” was unleashed this past May. Releasing their first music video “Prey” as part their planned 5 episode series, the band returns with their 2nd installment for their track “Salvation” being premiered on Metal-Rules.com. The 5 part series is a visual guide to tell the story of “The Crucible of Sin”. All 5 episodes / music videos in the series were produced and directed by drummer Bas Majzoub (aka Bas von Bismark).
“Being a second generation filmmaker, I’ve been playing with film cameras since before my years reached double digits, and as such, I have a list of dream projects I want to film, from westerns to Sci-Fi. One such dream concept has always been a medieval sword fighting revenge tale, and leading up to the recording of our “The Crucible of Sin” EP, I made the decision to pen and produce 5 videos, corresponding with the songs, and following one storyline, delivered as five episodes. I’m super excited to share my vision with our metal loving fans. Chronicling the story of a sword wielding warrior, hell-bent on bloody revenge after a deadly assault against his family, episode II, “Salvation”, is an action packed experience, that follows our reminiscing hero, as he tracks down those who murdered his children, and abducted his wife. It’s a privilege to share this with the metal world at large, those new to the band, and the true metal warriors who’ve been following us so far!” – Bas

“The Crucible of Sin” is available for digital download and stream on Bandcamp here, iTunes and Spotify.
The band adds:
“Our EP “The Crucible of Sin” sports a sense of humour. It tries to tell a… at times, nihilistic, story about love, lust, oppression, and redemption. Following every recording and show, we try to reflect on our own mistakes, and attempt to improve. We grew to understand our 90s thrash/traditional style of songwriting, and compose accordingly. This EP has that ‘90’s warm thrash sound akin to Megadeth’s Youthanasia album. We hope old and new audiences join us on a journey that is at times fictional, visual and imaginative, while other times introspective and contemplative. We like you to dance, head bang, and mosh to it.”

“From the drop of the first note, AxMinister pull their ax from stone, brandishing it mightily and powerfully as they dish out shredding sharpened riff after sharpened riff. Thrown in to the mix are face melting solos as well as ever present charging drumming as well as very solid very infectious vocals. Each of the five tracks present within this release are woven together well to provide you with a cohesive and well rounded sound that you will have a hard time getting out of your head. With The Crucible Of Sin, AxMinister gift you with five highly addictive and highly entertaining tracks that you keep coming back to.” – Cadaver Garden

“an exciting piece of Thrash Metal. It has a unique touch to it that allows the EP to be memorable, whilst the guitars make it very enjoyable.” – Noizze UK
“The stair-step cultural guitar to snare combinations for “The Trials of Hercules” brings out the Manowar fan in us all – while the speedy double kick locomotive aspects to closer “Sanctus Equitus Mortis” surely keep the ears pinned for a closer…It’s clear that you have a solid set of musicians and keen songwriting abilities – so if you want something a bit more dramatic and adventurous in your thrash airings, AxMinister could be that difference maker for you.” – Dead Rhetoric
“”The Crucible of Sin” is a lyrically-strong (hard & heavy) power metal recording with strong lead vocals, great guitar solos, a slick rhythm section, and inspired songs that will make you want to wave the banner of true heavy metal for all to see!! This is honest to goodness heavy metal that has been made possible thanks to hard work & dedication of true heavy metal maniacs.” – Heavy Metal Time Machine

Unleashing their eighth and latest release “Daño Colateral” digitally this past April and physically on CD on June 30th through Bandcamp and distributor Ablaze Productions, Mexican thrashers CENTAURO are proud to announce they will be hitting the road with deathcore act Lack Of Remorse for the Northern Mexico leg of the “Misfits 4 Life Tour”.

Sep 20 – Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes
“Daño Colateral” is CENTAURO‘s third full-length adding to their existing repertoire of well worked classic thrash intertwined with hearty samples of elements from several metal sub-genres, most notably black and death, resulting in a recognizable, deep and unique sound.
“Daño Colateral” is a concept album focused on the turbulent story of a person that was born into awful situations and throughout their life, continues to experience numerous setbacks even through effort and good will; a subjective message to decadence of society and modern system thoughts.
Drummer Mario Rivera further explains:
“The album is a story about a person that has been born from rape, that’s why this newborn is unwanted; So he and his brother work their way through the struggles of life until his brother dies. He gets angry with life and his resentment burns until he gets into prison for vandalism. In prison, he learns how to be a real criminal, and when he is released, he begins a path of violent crimes and killing until his madness makes him commit suicide.”
The band purposely takes the listener through torrid moments to create atmospheres of deep anxiety, fear, anger, joy and depression. It’s a journey through emotions that evolve from one to another. This intense story that can be both heart wrenching and uplifting can be heard in full stream and downloaded on Spotify, Bandcamp, Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play.
CD order is available on Bandcamp and distributor Ablaze Productions.

BIO:
In the heat of the summer of 2009, Mexican thrash metal band Centauro was born. Hailing from Culiacán, Sinaloa, they took their name from famous Mexican revolutionary fighter Doroteo Arango (Pancho Villa) a.k.a. “El Centauro del Norte”.
Mario Rivera (drums) delves into the origin of the band’s name,“We were kind of tired of a majority bands in our country having names mainly in English with some of them not even translating correctly. Coming from Mexico we really wanted our band’s name in our mother tongue to represent our culture and history. We wanted truly Mexican inspired metal, not everything to be about Vikings, runes, occultism and demons.”
Focusing on creating original trash infused metal they have found recognition both locally and abroad. Over the course of nine years they have unleashed eight releases, 2 EPS (Enraizados – 2010, Oligarquía – 2014), a demo (Vía Agresión – 2011) and 3 full lengths (Devastación Total – 2013, Ciénagas Del Engaño – 2015, Daño Colateral – 2018). Their sound is well worked classic thrash intertwined with a hearty sample of elements from several metal subgenres, most notably, black and death, creating a recognizable, deep and unique sound.
Staying true to their roots, they write lyrics exclusively in Spanish broaching themes including politics, religion, lust, laziness, misery, death, joy and criticism of society. This fresh take on thrash metal can be described as aggressive, melodic, and unique. The band brings a contagious energy to the stage putting emphasis on having fun and interacting with the crowd while playing quality music.
Centauro’s latest album “Daño Colateral” was released digitally April 21, 2018 on Spotify, Bandcamp, Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and will be available on CD as June 30, 2018.

“There is something so comforting about Centauro’s trash metal sound. One foot firmly planted in the old school with the other in a clean and fresh technical edge. Nothing is lost in translation as the thumping rhythm, hyper riffing and screeching solos can be understood in any language (Centauro sing in Spanish)…A thrash album with plenty of surprises.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life
“People who are not afraid of fast and loud thrash with the necessary blast beats should definitely check this album. The sound is great and heavy, they master their instruments and in vocalist/ loudmouth/ guitarist Iván García they have a kind of Spanish-speaking Tom Araya in house so what more could you want?” – Lords of Metal
“Honestly this record is a big fucking helping of Thrash Metal done right. Whether or not you understand the language doesn’t even matter because the strength of these tracks transcends all that. Daño Colateral is a great album, CENTAURO is a great band, and I am so happy that they fell into my lap.” – Amps And Greens Screens
“if you’re looking for a record that’s going to kick ass six ways till Sunday, these are the droids you’re looking for.” – Glacially Musical
“Centauro are one of the bands that keep things interesting. Coming from Mexico and being one of the few Metal bands that keep the language to their mother tongue may make it a start, but with their new album, Daño Colateral, there may be more…this album a great amount of effort and will surely reach new audiences with this album as they steadily rise.”- Noizze UK
“Centauro nous a sorti un album passionnant sur lequel il ferait bon de se pencher sérieusement.” – Soil Chronicles
