NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 7, 2018

For fans of Dethklok, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D,
Weird Al Yankovic, Primus, Stephen Lynch, Mr. Bungle

“Do” Sing Along To PSYCHOSTICK With Their Latest Lyric Videos

Surprised Fans With New Album “DO”

Shocking the world with their surprise album “DO” this past July during a live fan engagement webcast on Twitch (watch the video here), the kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK want to now show you how to “DO” sing-a-longs with their latest laugh tracks off the release. Posting lyric videos on their Youtube channel, fans can now get their karaoke on and sing their hearts out to such tracks as “We Are a Band”, “You Can (Maybe) Do It”, “Introvert Party Time”, “Uncle Material” and more!

Check out all their lyric videos at the following link here.

Also don’t forget to watch their latest music videos.

“DO” – https://youtu.be/V-EgWg133Hc
“Adulting” – https://youtu.be/gMtW9zurUkw
“From The Heart” – https://youtu.be/oww5UWEeAO4
“Bacon Egg & Cheese on Toast with Sriracha” – https://youtu.be/4rcHIUUJYYw

It only took four years for “DO” to surprise fans and follow PSYCHOSTICK’s extremely fan loved “IV: Revenge of The Vengeance”. And it wasn’t because they were lazy… NO! But because these geniuses of blending comedy, metal, heavy rock and the occasional spoof cover have been super busy releasing viral videos and touring the world, most recently completing North American tours with Mushroomhead and Urizen.

“DO” may have passed by fans quickly, but it’s sure to impress and continue PSYCHOSTICK‘s reign as one of the funniest band’s to listen and laugh to. The album debut #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart along with ranking at #14 for Hard Rock Album, #39 for Rock Album, #39 for Independent Albums and #9 for Heatseekers Albums for the week of August 11th.

Album CD order, digital download and streaming available on Psychostick Online Store, Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and all other major online retailers.

The band comments:

“Whelp, here it is! “Do.” This whole “surprise, nerd! New album!” experiment was extremely fun, and we’re beyond appreciative of your patience and understanding. We agree with you – four years is way too long. We hope to fix that despite what Murph says!

“Do” is our first 100% independent, label-free release since 2003! Our production process is still completely internal, but this time all profits go straight to Psychostick. This is extremely huge for us and we can’t thank you enough.

2018 marked the fifteenth anniversary of our first album, and we’re beyond excited that we’re still kickin’, making globs upon globs of comedy metal. We aim to do this until they kick us out of the old folks’ home or off of Mars. That’s right. We’re goin’ to Mars, damnit.”

Lineup:
Joshua “The J” Key – Guitars, Cupcakeist
Robert “Rawrb” Kersey – Vocals, Derptroller
Alex “Shitbag” Dontre – Drums, pelican
Matty J “Moose” – Bass, antlers, merch-monger
Patrick “Murph” Murphy – Videographist, pork specialist

For more info, music and tour dates, please visit http://www.psychostick.com.

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, and a style of music they’ve coined as ‘humorcore’. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released five full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014), ‘DO’ (2018) —and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic), Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!

The band’s first single “Heart of The Furyan” is a track based on the “The Chronicles of Riddick” series, but more importantly the third installment “Riddick” where the duo demonstrate a very strong gallop riff during the verse, a slow acoustic middle section and big chorus.

BIO:Dire Peril was an idea that goes as far back as Jason Ashcraft’s (guitars, bass) high school years. The band’s name was inspired by a PC game he used to play, called “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline”, which has stuck with him ever since.

Originally formed in 2009, the band went on to create three EPs: Astronomical Minds, Queen of the Galaxy and Through Time and Space, and proceeded to play a handful of local shows, as well as a few out of town gigs. In 2015, feeling like things just weren’t as they should be, Ashcraft decided to take a step back and take a hard look at where the band was headed.

Inspired by all manner of science fiction, especially classic sci-fi movies, Dire Peril regrouped as a double piece; Ashcraft was joined by singer John Yelland, and together they began working on the debut album titled “The Extraterrestrial Compendium,” set for release on November 9, 2018. Recruiting a live line up enabled them to start playing live shows including an upcoming North American tour with Seven Kingdoms allowing the American sci-fi power metal band to reach its final form and share their dark, aggressive adventure with the masses.

DECATUR Announce Ontario Tour Dates

Debut Album “Badder Than Brooklyn” Out Now!

Produced By Gojira’s Joe Duplantier

Unleashing their debut album “Badder Than Brooklyn” produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira during October of last year along with a lengthy tour across Canada, Toronto-based metal messiahs DECATUR will be kicking off their fall “Buried Out Back Tour” across Ontario a full year after their full length’s release. Their first date of the tour will begin in Cornwall on October 6th and wrap up in Windsor on October 27th. DECATUR has gone through line up changes since releasing their debut album. For this upcoming tour, the band’s live line up features founding member Jay Sarrazin supported by drummer Joey Muha (Jungle Rot, Threat Signal, Lightyears), Anthony Zhura (Caym, Centuries of Decay) and Aidan Keenan (Imperion).

Check out video of drummer Joey Muha smashing out DECATUR at the following link:

DECATUR: Buried Out Back Tour

Oct 13 – Guelph, ON – Jimmy Jazz
Oct 19 – Brampton, ON – 52nd Street Bar
Oct 25 – Toronto, ON – Coalition
Oct 26 – St. Catharines, ON – Detour
Oct 27 – Windsor, ON – Dominion House

The band’s latest music video “Worst Enemy” can be viewed at the following link below. The video is a message from the band to conquer the fight against depression and follows the album’s theme of power and empowerment, a clarion call for strength in life’s battles…healing through headbanging.

Vocalist / guitarist Jay Sarrazin comments:

“Worst Enemy was actually the first song I wrote for this album. I was at a pretty dark place in my life at the time. I was struggling with depression and anxiety and was constantly berating myself with negativity. I felt trapped in a box so to speak and I became my own worst enemy. That’s what the song is about and the music video we made emphasizes that emotion of being trapped in that box or in your own head saying all these things to yourself. Throughout the years I have learned to find more coping methods and I am always learning more about myself. Hopefully this song helps other knows they are not alone and to seek help if they need it.”

Watch “Worst Enemy”

DECATUR‘s debut album “Badder Than Brooklyn” was produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira and is all-killer, no filler! It doesn’t hide behind its production; it compliments it. These are truly songs of power and empowerment, a clarion call for strength in life’s battles…healing through headbanging. From the power shredding of “Into The Night” and the storytelling of the album’s title track “Badder Than Brooklyn” to the brutal beat down of songs like “Bottled Inside” and “Internal War”, DECATUR feel modern metal has lost its way and they’re here to provide the roadmap forward to the future! Make no mistake, Decatur are a band that puts the grit into integrity, as guitarist/vocalist Jay ‘Beard’ Sarrazin says, Decatur make “real metal for real metalheads.”

Named after their very own Street of Dreams in New York, where they recorded their debut album at Silvercord Studios in Brooklyn, DECATUR get their unique sound by being opened-minded, not just to each other in this band of brothers, but to different genres, not just of metal, but also the blues, rock ‘n’ roll and even pop! Decatur’s criteria if it’s good they can make it better! They focus on evolution not devolution. There is no fear of DECATUR repeating themselves musically; for them…the world is not enough. They see themselves as intrepid explorers, never playing it safe, always looking for new lands to conquer, and in the process drawing on creative powers they never knew they possessed.

“We put a lot of effort into writing real songs and putting out a real album that hopefully touches a broad fan base. Our goal was to make sure that not only every single song had been thoroughly thought through, but that it was given all the attention and passion that we truly felt they deserved. We honestly feel like metal has lost its way a bit and we were set on writing something original and not following the trends of today such as low tunings, aggressive growling and perfectly lined up music and sound. We focused on the realness of ourselves and wanted to produce something that wasn’t always perfect and was as real and as honest as we could be. We did not need or want to hide behind production. We wanted our raw talent to be caught and portrayed to everyone. Our goal was to produce something from the soul, not from the computer.” Says Sarrazin.

“Badder Than Brooklyn is one of those wonderful albums that will give you little to complain about…one of the best heavy metal releases this year. Shatterproof & Internal War Pt. 2 confirm this with the former a very traditional & groove-layered slab while the latter goes for a more melodic approach.” Games, Brrrains & A Head-Banging Life

“Badder Than Brooklyn is a solid debut album of modern metal that’s worth seeking out.” – Heavy Metal HQ

“Great for a pounding run or a body-wrecking workout, Badder Than Brooklyn will satisfy fans of metal, hard rock, or good old-fashioned rock and roll.” – Shockwave Mag

“The energy in the room was electrifying, and it was impossible not to mosh and head bang with intense vigour. The band’s connection on stage was infectious, as it was obvious that these guys loved what they were doing and loved doing it together.” – The Phoenix News – Live Review – Kelowna, BC

“Badder Than Brooklyn is a formidable effort by these talented newcomers. Considering the fact that this is their debut album, I most certainly think that they have nailed it. With memorable and we’ll crafted songwriting, if these guys keep up their work I see a bright future ahead if them. Undoubtedly an album that I will recommend for all Thrash/Groove Metal enthusiasts. That being said I hope they will come back even stronger in their sophomore effort for which I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled.” – Metal Centre

“Toronto-based Decatur, with their debut release Badder Than Brooklyn, has created a metal album for metal’s sake, a traditionally fast, heavy riffing, drivingly intense set of tunes to be included on an FM radio station in the next installment of Grand Theft Auto playing between Megadeth’s “Holy War…The Punishment Due”, Metallica’s “Battery”, and right after Pantera’s “Walk”.” – Canadian Beats

Montreal, QC – September 5, 2018

JEZEBEL SLADE (formerly known as Van Halst) Announce Name Change & Sexy Debut Single “Pickled Punks” Coming Soon!

Upcoming Debut Album Produced By Arnold Lanni (Finger Eleven, Our Lady Peace) + Features Guests Bif Naked And More!

Canadian hard rockers, JEZEBEL SLADE, who has been performing as Van Halst for years, has taken on a new creative direction, and with it comes the new name and the promise of new music. Ringleader and vocalist Kami further explains the redirection:

“Half way through the new album we realized that Van Halst didn’t really fit anymore. The original intention was to title the new album “Jezebel” but throughout the recording process the music started taking on a theatrical life of its own so I wanted a name to reflect the new sound. While in University, I remember studying Jezebel and feeling empowered- she was strong, confident, seductive and willful. Even in her death she was proud. Yet there was something sinful about Jezebel and she did a lot of evil things- she was a living juxtaposition. I feel the music business is like that- it can be beautiful and inspiring yet evil and sinister. So Jezebel was a perfect fit for me, but in order to create this new alter ego I needed a new last name. Slade came from my love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She slayed demons both physical and metaphorical so I wanted to play on that thus, Jezebel Slade.”

The debut single “Pickled Punks” will be the first of many the band has planned for release and it is expected out later in 2018. This dark and horrific tune will come with a sexy, gothic and evil music video and will be the first glimpse as to what JEZEBEL SLADE has to offer the audience.

Check out their teaser at the following link:

Summarized as dark and theatrical hard rock, JEZEBEL SLADE follows the artistic stylings of Lady Gaga albeit with a metal twist and brews it together with influences drawn from Judas Priest to produce an entertaining and devilish live spectacle known as “Sinner’s Cabaret”. The “Sinner’s Cabaret” will focus equally on the music and the performance with JEZEBEL SLADE planning to tour with freak shows, circuses and burlesque performers.

Looking in to the crystal ball the future looks bright for this troupe of performers with a flurry of singles to be released and extensive touring plans in the works. Their forthcoming self-titled debut album was co-written and produced by diamond award winning producer Arnold Lanni plus features guest appearances by Bif Naked and more.

Test Your Metal Records: RAPHEUMETS WELL To Release “The Elder’s Anthology” October 26th

Streaming Remastered Single “The Betrayer”

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based Rapheumets Well (Ra-few-mets) bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists. From the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of Rapheumets Well’s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities.

Inspired by the fictitious universe of the Atai, Rapheumets Well is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel.  Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers.  The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

“We created this name in hopes of personifying a living gateway between dimensions.  We love science fiction and a few of us have extended education and degrees in science.” says drummer Joshua Ward.

Unleashing three albums over the years, Dimensions (2014), Exile (2016) and Enders Door (2017) that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of the Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse, the band returns in 2018 with their epic “The Elder’s Anthology”, a trilogy of sorts featuring selective tracks remixed and remastered from those releases due out on October 26th from Test Your Metal Records.

The band comments:

“‘The Elder’s Anthology’ is a collection of songs (we felt) are important in re-igniting the lore of the previous albums. With new changes and new members, we felt it was important to transpose their skills into the foundation of the band. The Elder’s Anthology is re-mastered with updated guitars, vocals, and baselines and we fell this was appropriate for moving forward with the next full length album!”

Their first single “The Betrayer” in support of “The Elder’s Anthology” is now streaming via Youtube channel Black Metal Promotion.

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine

“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose

“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing

“The Exile brings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric

“The Exile is one hell of an intense and adventurous ride, and one that must be experienced if you dig on metal that is several steps to the left of centre.” – The Metal Forge
