Inching near the release of their debut self titled album on September 21st, Toronto’s newest progressive metal band IOMAIR are sharing with fans their third single “Dance of Eternal Insanity” to follow their two previous cuts “Embodiment of Emptiness” and “Cast Away”, which debut at #28 on the iTunes metal charts.

Recruiting a cast of characters from several well-known Toronto Metal bands including Vesperia, Asaroth Incarnate, Völur, Hallows Die, Sludgehammer, Bloodmoon Collective and The Silence Factory, IOMAIR was founded by drummer/vocalist Dylan Gowan. Combining haunting violin work with blackened growls, melodic singing, heavy riffs and thundering drums, IOMAIR creates a style that’s unique for all members involved.
Their self-titled album was written by Gowan in 2017 as a way to cope with the personal challenges he faced throughout the year. The nine-song release is a collection of musical stories that center on the universal themes of love, yearning, trials of life and self-reflection. Spanning a multitude of influences including folk metal, melodic death metal, prog and even Latin music, IOMAIR aims to delight listeners with often unexpected twists while offering an outlet for hardship.

“All the lyrics involved are about personal struggles, relationships and the trials of life. These experiences inspired me to write so that I could walk away from those experiences intact rather than broken. All of the tracks on the album are all about the personal struggles we all go through in life, and I hope people will find comfort in these songs knowing that they are not alone.”.

About:
Iomair, (Scottish Gaelic for the word “Row”) is the experimental and progressive new band created by Drummer/Vocalist/Songwriter Dylan Gowan (Vesperia). The name reflects on Dylan’s Scottish/Irish ancestry and the songs are reflections of personal circumstances present in Dylan’s life.
Established in late 2017 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, with the desire to create something progressive and unorthodox, Iomair draws influences from all genres including metal, folk, latin and funk and especially from bands such as Opeth, Cynic and Porcupine Tree. As the primary composer and songwriter for the band, Dylan approaches topics relating to personal struggles that everyone can relate to. “I hope people will find comfort in these songs knowing that you’re not alone with your struggles.”

Following his introduction to the metal community with his first single / lyric video “The Human Equation”, Spain’s progressive one man solo project North of South by Chechu Nos takes another step forward towards the worldwide release of his debut album “New Latitudes” due out on September 28th via Rockshots Records.
In advance of his first full-length, North of South is sharing with fans the latest music video “Nobody Knows” directed by Hristijan Konesky.
An ingenious script with an unexpected ending and an inspired staged turn into images, “Nobody Knows” is a song that deals with those unutterable secrets of our lives and the hidden side of our personality.

Rooted in León, Spain, North of South is a complex-categorizing band, deeply interested in crossbreeding different music styles such as Jazz, Death, Pop and Latin influences with a solid base of progressive metal.
The album’s lyrics contain a strong literary, philosophic and existentialist essence, influenced by authors like Jorge Luis Borges, William Shakespeare and Orson Scott Card, among others, as well as topics like the human condition and its limits facing the Universe, our emotions and personal contradictions and the mysteries of time.

Drawing their inspiration from a wide variety of genres, OMINOUS ECLIPSE is a brutal quartet that create a unique hybrid sound with death metal being the main aspect combined with elements of thrash, groove, black, melodic, etc. Unleashing their sophomore album “Sinister” officially this Friday, September 14th, the band is now streaming it in full at the following link: https://youtu.be/PWKEeTguj-w

“There’s no concept or theme on this album so all the songs have different meaning. The title track itself divulges into the inevitable end to humanity and potentially the world with it. It discusses the issues around the globe and also addresses the ignorance and selfishness of those indirectly affected by the chaos. It has a strong “United We Stand, Divided We Fall” theme in regards to how people can turn their backs on those in need in order to save their own skin, which ironically will lead to our end as it causes people to turn on each other. Musically for this album, you will notice we have evolved from the first release and have moved away from thrashy overtones to become more diverse including more heavily stated melodic and technical with a solid groove and death foundation.”
The album follows their 2015 debut full length “End Of Days” and EP “Beyond The Apocalypse” released that same year. Active since 2014, OMINOUS ECLIPSE is a very ambitious band passionate about writing and playing extreme music. They have already shared the stage with the likes of Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah, Archspire, Incantation, Vesperia, Beyond Creation, Rivers of Nihil to name a few. Champions in blending classic heavy metal, hard rock, and 80’s hair metal, Canadian shredders STRIKER will be unleashing their sixth studio album “Play To Win” on October 26th via their independent label Record Breaking Records. The album features 10 fist pounding shredtacular anthems produced by the band plus mixed and mastered by Hendrik Udd (Firewind, Powerwolf, Hammerfall, Delain). The album follows their 2017 self-titled full length that the band supported with tours across Europe and North America with Sonata Arctica, Dark Tranquility, and Warbringer along with festival appearances at 70,000 Tons of Metal, Bang Your Head Festival (Germany) and more to add to their almost 1000 shows performed in their decade plus career. That fifth studio album also garnered them a nomination from Canada’s JUNO awards, the country’s highest music prize, along with wins at the Edmonton Music Awards and Western Canadian Awards.
In support of the release of “Play To Win”, STRIKER announce they will be touring Europe this coming November for the co-headline “Maple Meltdown Tour” with SKULL FIST to follow their North American tour with Unleash The Archers and Helion Prime that is currently in progress (all dates listed below).
