About:
The band is a three piece consisting of Trayne Rekk on Bass/Vocals/Stupidity, TimTim plucking Guitar/Vocals and Jordan Stubbs on Drums. Rarely sober the band’s infectious music invites even the most conservative wall flower to act stupid. One would expect the band to have influences like KISS, SLAYER, and Iron Maiden, but Trayne blames Hank Willams Jr. for much of his blue collar topics.
Puttin’On The Foil’s signature sound starts with Hank Williams, toss in some Ramones, thickened with Motorhead, and a dash of Nashville Pussy gives it that good time feel. Fans can be sure to understand the bands incredibly love of a good time from their music and live shows.

“Are you ready for the most fun you’ve had listening to an album? No? Too damn bad, because Puttin’ On The Foil are set to unload all over you with Fired Up, Ready To Roll. This album has literally a little bit of everything but the kitchen sink and rap music on it and it’s a country, rock, punk, metal party if there ever was one- even if there was one, it wouldn’t matter- this is the party.” – The Front Row Report
“Shirtless dude in overalls? Check. Long-haired fella in a Canadian Tuxedo? Check. Bottles and blunts? Ok we are ready. Puttin’ on the Foil are Calgary’s premier hillbilly punk act…” – Calgary Is Awesome
“Puttin’ on the Foil’s signature mix of good time country vibes and punk rock intensity make their shows feel more like a Stampede after-party.” – Calgary Journal
“If you are looking for a great philosophical punk album to bring a smile to your face on a bleak day then look no further than ‘Fire Up, Ready to Roll’, from Calgary’s Hillbilly punks, ‘Puttin’ On The Foil’.” – Punk Globe
“Now here is one Fuck of an album especially when it comes to the lyrics in the song. The album is a cross between country, Metal and Rock. The lyrics, how in the hell do I even start explaining the lyrics in this album. For me the lyrics are some of the funniest ones that I have heard in a real long time and that actually work within the song. If you are a fan of the Trailer Park Boys or just Construction humour and Country living humour then you have to check this album out.” Kingston Music Reviews
“Despite being a comical band, Puttin’ On The Foil have been able to create an album which demonstrates their potential. All three members are actually rather talented musicians, like Steel Panther, who just enjoy creating hillbilly rock. If you do not take yourself too seriously then you could easily enjoy this harmless rock album.” – Ghost Cult Mag
“What can I say about this album? I say, grab a beer, turn it up loud, get out your air guitar, and bounce around the house like a lunatic!” – Midlands Metal Heads

Montreal, QC power prog metal band ELDEROTH has posted a new lyric video for their track ‘Falling Star’, which is off the band’s latest album ‘Mystic’ released earlier this spring.
Lyric Video – Falling Star – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbwfIA-CXm4
About:
Engineering a unique style of metal music with oriental instruments from East Asia, Montreal, QC’s Elderoth intertwine modern North American and European styles in a must-hear album with each track flowing across to the next to create a dynamic taste for fans. Featuring intense guitar licks, complex keyboard arrangements and powerful rhythms, Elderoth delivers a challenging sound that is catching the attention of metal aficionados, guitarists and professional musicians around the world for its pinnacle of musicianship, composition and technical ingenuity. The prog power metal band unleashed its new album ‘Mystic’ on April 28th to follow their 2012 self-titled debut.
Founding member and mastermind behind Elderoth, Collin McGee comments:
“We are glad to finally have this album released, quite a lot of work was put into it, and it really was a great learning experience. Bringing in the new far eastern oriental influences has really added a new twist to the development of our own unique style. I feel it is only just the beginning. This album showcases many new fresh and original ideas that we had to put on the table. Originality and being able to catch the listener’s attention has always been a goal for us, that and writing and playing what we enjoy as well. We’ve made this to reach out to our loyal fans and our new potential fans as well.”
Mcgee, the man behind the vision of Elderoth is the primary author, composer, lead guitarist, and singer. Through his years of being self-taught, studying music theory and composing endlessly, McGee has mastered composition on guitar and other instruments at a world-class level, along with writing lyrics and developing his vocals to a professional level that stands out in the audio mix both live and in the studio.

“Elderoth delivers a challenging sound that is catching the attention of metal aficionados, guitarists and professional musicians around the world for its pinnacle of musicianship, composition and technical ingenuity.” – Metal-Rules.com
“Elderoth are the brainchild of a certain Collin McGee, and his singular vision has produced a unique metal sound…a sublime release.” – Hellbound
“Strong prog-metal is usually reserved for DREAM THEATER and the countries of Europe. But this album has put the entire community on notice. Name recognition will only take you so far. This music is fresh, crisp and chocked full of melodies, and keeps one step ahead of you, making you long for more.” – Metal Temple
“Boasting a unique mix of metal music with oriental instruments, Elderoth stands out in the Quebec metal scene due to their overall difference to other acts from the area, and their new album Mystic shows that they might be one of the best in that scene.” – Audio Honesty
“Elderoth present a very uplifting album that feels absolutely genuine in its lyrical themes. Mystic takes full advantage of the Progressive Metal aspect of its sound to tackle other styles in a way that feels natural to the blend of Sonata Arctica andDragonForce-lite material that makes up the album, all the while exploring different atmospheres without any concern to whether it’s heavy enough or not. This commendable approach makes for a journey that leaves you actually feeling good about yourself by the end of this just under thirty-five minute self-released offering. If you’re into well composed music that doesn’t restrict itself to one specific sub-genre of Metal in a way that feels one hundred percent fluid from start to finish, Mystic is something you are going to want to check out right away.” – Apoch’s Metal Review
“After the first spin of Mystic, my immediate reaction was that this music, these arrangements, are quite dense. Mostly this comes from the riffage and orchestration. You could further define the compositions as being either, in the worst sense, busy and cluttered, or in the best sense, complex and intriguing. It’s a knotty conundrum. Eventually, I think it will come down to the each listener’s subjective experience…Call it ambitious and bombastic, Elderoth’s Mystic will definitely give you some music to ponder.” – Danger Dog Review

About:
Since early 2011, Grand Prairie, AB’s Arrival of Autumn has been shaking up the Canadian prairies with their heavy riffs, hooky vocals and speed demon double kicks. Their versatile headbanging tunes has made them accessible to fans of rock to the most hardcore death metal moshpit.
A band name inspired by Opeth lyric’s (thanks to drummer Ty Fox) and influenced by various genres ranging from melodic death to groove metal to progressive to rock n’ roll, AOA’s catalogue has grown rapidly with two self-releases in 2014. First it was their debut EP ‘Endless Nights’ in March followed by their ten track full length ‘Shadows’ in September.
“We are just trying to make a record that’s a little different than what’s going on at the moment. It’s no secret there is an abundance of the exact same thing floating around and we would never add to that. We wanted to give them something exciting and different to listen to. The good thing about our album is you can take any 3 songs put them together and it’s great. Our CD doesn’t rely on having only a few good songs. Every song has the potential to be a single. It can be received any way and people will get what AOA is all about.” comments AOA vocalist Ty Fox.
Touching on personal issues to triumphing demons as a band, ‘Shadows’ with a dash of dark lyrics and tracks such as The Court Of Owls to There’s No Angels Here to the infectious chorus of Like Fire demonstrates AOA are not just evolving, but are a live force raging to be discovered by the masses.

HIBRIA is a Brazilian power metal band formed in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul in 1996. The band has grown in popularity in their home country plus worldwide with the successful release of fours albums and a live DVD that showcases their intense concert energy (if ya never seen them in person). Continuing their venture in 2015 with their very technical playing that’s fast, aggressive and catchy, HIBRIA returns with their fifth and latest self titled studio album set for release on August 7th via Test Your Metal Record in North America (July 22nd in Japan on King Music) to follow 2013’s ‘Silent Revenge’ released under King Records for Asia, AFM for Europe and North America plus Voice Music for Brazil.
“We self titled this release because we believe that it represents what our music is and how we feel about our band. This is our second CD composed with the same lineup and it made all the difference in our songwriting. We already knew what to expect from each other and it contributed a lot for us to write this new work.” says “It is our most daring album. We experienced new influences and they made this album to sound so fresh. We really feel we have started heading to a new level as a band.”
All four of their past albums and live DVD released have reached the #1 position on sales charts for HMV stores across Japan and has lead the band to be support for such bands as Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth plus perform at Rock in Rio and Loud Park, Japan’s most important Metal festival, where they shared the main stage with some of the world’s most known bands.

Crafting Progressive rock, industrial, and metal influences fused with his passion for classical composers such has J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi, guitarist Kevin Estrella is carving a new musical direction that few dare to attempt with his solo project PYRAMIDS ON MARS. Written all by Estrella from the guitars, bass and drums, his latest effort ‘Echo Cosmic’ due out on September 8, 2015 is an impressive ten track journey to follow up his 2013 self-titled debut album. About:
Inspired the by the studies of UFOs, aliens and the artifacts of in our solar system, PYRAMIDS ON MARS is an embodiment of spacey music that brings both worlds together as both a musical concept, and message to the world of the alien presence. Formed in 2011, PYRAMIDS ON MARS is the solo creation of guitarist Kevin Estrella who offers an aural palette of intense, emotional, 3-dimensional, heavy and melodic progressive rock/ metal that includes a range of influences such as Baroque classical guitar, classical composers J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi along with today’s guitar virtuosos Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani.
Estrella’s latest effort under the PYRAMIDS ON MARS name is ‘Echo Cosmic’ set for release on September 8, 2015 to follow 2013’s full length self-titled debut
“I honestly think “Echo Cosmic” will do for this decade what Joe Satrani’s ‘Surfing With The Alien’ did for instrumental rock back in the ’80’s. It captures the same passion, energy, and melodic hooks, yet it has an updated sound. Heavier than Satriani though. He is influenced mostly by the blues. I am influenced by metal and classical music. I have always focused on melody. Same with composers like J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi. The masters of melody. They are pretty much all I listen to. So what I am doing on stage today, was the norm 300 years ago. ” comments Estrella.
Featuring ten tracks of emotionally high energy music that mostly came to life in Estrella’s dreams over the last two years, the album as whole pays homage to some of Estrella’s biggest influences while still staying true to himself and his own creations.
“On Echo Cosmic, I wanted to put more emphasis on the rhythm guitars, bass and drums. The keyboards are still there, but they play more second fiddle sort of speaking. Some songs are stripped right down to just bass, drums and lead guitar. I wanted this album it to be more in your face with less clutter.” says Estrella. “The writing on this album is also inspired by the bands I love the most. I love so many bands and love so many styles. So, I tend to write in whatever style I want to. There are so many other band styles I want to explore. I am probably one of the most unique bands out there that I have no one particular ‘sound’. But all the songs have a common thread/element that identifies them as being Pyramids On Mars. I think I have an advantage others do not have, because I can transform like a chameleon.” says Estrella.
– 30 –
“If anything, it is taking the road less travelled – in this case, guitar-driven, instrumental music- that helps Pyramids on Mars stand out from the plethora of other groups vying for a piece of the prog rock pie.” – Canadian Musician Magazine
“Kevin Estrella, much like Vai, much like Satriani, can make his guitar truly communicate and display emotion. There’s a real passion that Kevin plays with that only comes along every so often…a real magic. There could be a complete saturation with this type of instrumentally-driven music one day. I have the feeling that even IF this was to happen, Pyramids on Mars would STILL stand out miles from the rest.” – Sleeping Bag Studios
“The music scene is very saturated with artists and bands pretty much doing the same thing (stylistically speaking). With the current popularity of instrumental guitarists like Joe Satriani, there is a good possibility of instrumental rock coming back. Pyramids on Mars have a niche market with very little competition that they can control the market share in that music genre.” Coalition Entertainment Management Jesse Mitchell |Coalition Music
“And with influences like Metallica (probably post-black album), Jimi Hendrix, and Joe Satriani it is clear that Pyramids on Mars knows the kind of music they love, how to create their own version, and make us listeners enjoy it as much as they do.” Metal Addicts
“The guitarist member is impressively high-quality. His constant and non-stop lead work is where he shines. Smooth, melodic, adapt and soaring lead after lead on song after song speaks of good soloing. Kevin Estrella is in the same ballpark as David Gilmour.” – Metallian
“Pyramids on Mars is a musical journey. Dizzying guitar work swiftly flying between genres and showing skill that few acts are capable of achieving in the country right now.” Two Way Monologues

I look forward to hearing a full length from these guys as if they can keep up this kind of quality over the course of a full album then they will definitely be a forced to be reckoned with on the metal scene.” – Eric Walls,That Metal Station
“If you want the REAL Calgary Stampede then look no further than the blistering metal quartet, False Flag. These guys seriously RULE…”- PureGrainAudio.com
“In their punishing debut, Calgary metal trio False Flag skirt between multiple sub-genres while never fully committing to one. As such, they’ve created something original and crushing that is never cliché.” – Sarah Kitteringham, BeatRoute

Biography
Calgary’s down-tuned super-group False Flag are a heavy hitting 4 piece that produce loud groovy metal.
Formed in 2012 as a side project for Russ Gauthier (Lordosis, Meggido, and We Found The Body) and Nick Purdy (Meggido). They soon recruited Garrett McElroy (AfterEarth) as a bass player and recorded their first EP (Orobas) at Garrett’s apartment studio.
Prior to performing at Calgary Metalfest, and Vernstock the band recruited Dan Ishak (Meggido, Stinger) on bass as Garrett’s band Afterearth was picking up steam. In January 2014 False Flag started recording the full length album “Suffer In Silence”. Finally guitarist Mike Harach (Meggido, Stinger) was added and solidified the bands thick live sound. John Byskal (We Found The Body) joined the band (replacing Nick Purdy) in February 2015 and their lineup was settled.
False Flag is currently in the studio recording their 3rd release, “Nest Of Vipers” EP. The EP will be released August 4th, 2015 and will start with an Alberta/Saskatchewan tour July 2015.

“…With their punkified Meshuggah-esque guitar judding, and powerful howling vocals, they got the crowd moving.” – Beatroute
“What metal is lacking is more bands like False Flag who realize how vast the genre is, how much imagery, lyrical themes and sounds are available, and who take only what is right for them to make their music, without being embarrassed or strident about the boundaries.” – Gareth Watkins, BeatRoute,
