NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 23, 2021

For fans of Sylosis, Paradise Lost, The Haunted

Rockshots Records: NAHAYA New Music Video “Deific Mask” + New Album “Vital Alchemy” Out May 21st

(ft. Members of Oceans of Slumber, Vesperian Sorrow, ex-Kingdom Collapse, Painting The Massacre, Cerebral Desecration)

NAHAYA (ft. members of Oceans of Slumber, Vesperian Sorrow, ex-Kingdom Collapse, Painting The Massacre, Cerebral Desecration) will be unleashing their new album, entitled “Vital Alchemy” via Rockshots Records on May 21, 2021. The Texan band is an amalgamation of American melodic groove thrash, Gothenburg sounds, and Middle Eastern influences. The band was founded in 2013 by Ryan Peters with Semir Ozerkan, who immigrated to the US from Istanbul, Turkey to pursue career opportunities in metal, one being with Oceans of Slumber.

“Vital Alchemy” follows the band’s well-received EPs “Transcendence Pt. II” (2020) and “Transcendence” (2018). Since the band’s conception, they have been working hard to make a name for themselves independently, performing over 50 shows year-round in Texas and neighboring states including Austin’s SXSW festival and becoming national finalists for the 2019 Wacken Metal Battle USA competition.

Mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Scale the Summit), “Vital Alchemy” is seven tracks that will take fans through a wide range of emotions. There is something on this record for every kind of music lover. From the melody to the groove to the speed and unlike its predecessors that were focused on themes of science fiction, this new record takes on more personal interest, spirituality, and metaphysics along with it being more musically dynamic and experimental, incorporating progressive, acoustic, melancholic sounds with thrashing elements.

Overall, “Vital Alchemy”, signifies a rebirth for NAHAYA as the new tracks featured on the recording are the next step in the band’s evolution when it comes to their musical direction.

Today, the band shares the first single “Deific Mask” in support of the upcoming full length. The track is one of the fastest on the release. It has pummeling drums, a nasty solo, and a hooky chorus.

The band adds:

“We are extremely excited to release our first single Deific Mask with our fresh new lineup. Deific Mask was written during a major lineup change within Nahaya. The song has a speed metal influence with a catchy clean vocal chorus. We think the song will be a definite circle pit starter live.”

The Boy Who Cried Wolf started their activity as two local bands from Bucharest, Romania colliding, Bogdan from CHESTER and Mihai from Breathelast), later on adding Alex (PZFI, Backstage Hero) to give it a sincere go at writing some tunes that would better react to their primal needs to play some wild, fast-paced music, inspired by old school metal combined w/ Hardcore / Punk vibes. Other sounds may occur.

Shared Stage w/: Cancer Bats, Shai Hulud, PORN (USA)

“This album is furious anger aimed at the clashing worlds that keep colliding onto us, turning us into feral beasts, nurturing the darkest of wishes, bidding serenity a sickening farewell. We breathe secret wars in every cell that struggles for better days. bellicose.” – The Boy Who Cried Wolf

EPK – Crawling Manifest – Radical Absolution (2021)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

For fans of Lamb of God, Megadeth, Power Trip, Testament, Exodus

“Our goal in writing music, in general, is to make our fans feel something. Make something they can connect with. This album, I think, did just that. You can listen to the album and feel the old-school influences we have, and you can also dig into the lyrics and hopefully connect with what we are saying. At the end of the day, the message that we are trying to get through with this album is that your voice can, and should be heard. All you have to do is make sure it is.” – Crawling Manifest

“The band has cut their teeth playing live with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Soulfly, Soilwork, Carach Angren, and Kataklysm, with founding members remaining members Andrew Gladu and Trevor Layton still driving the band since 2014. Fans from bands like Havok, Warbringer, Lamb of God, and Power Trip will love Crawling Manifest!” – Ghost Cult Mag
“The album is politically charged and there is a solid level of aggression in the vocals that means you can clearly hear that Gladu is fired up here, he’s not just spitting venom for the hell of it. The aforementioned “World War III” is a prime example being a f*** you to Billionaires who got there by exploiting the people who work their fingers to the bone to earn a crust from them, “Right To Refrain Silence” is a straight up fight song about the right to speak freely without being violated by the powers that be in response.” – Metal Noise

“Single “World War III” and its follow up “Nothing to Lose” then gives us something more traditionally Thrash, bringing them into line with the current wave of bands like Hazzerd, Thrasherwolf and Wreck-Defy that have more than a lethal dose of 80’s nostalgia to them. Both deliver the killer solo that puts the band firmly into the Megadeth bracket of styling with Gladu’s gruff bark giving everything a clenched fist approach, a neat tempo change in the later bringing the house down with a full throttle onslaught.” – Metal Noise

“Radical Absolution has plenty of blistering songs – forceful, aggressive, and potentially explosive to charge up the right patrons.” – Dead Rhetoric

“The overwhelming triumph of this record are the quality of riffs. They come thick and fast and we are never far away from a fresh one.” – The Razor’s Edge

“You want thrash, you get no-frills thrash. This record also feels very honest, and gives the listener exactly what’s on the tin. Speaking of those riffs, they bring great pleasure. Crawling Manifest reveal their talent in writing short, punchy statements and drilling them into the listener’s head.” – Metal Utopia

“If you are into blistering lyrics, masterful guitar riffs, seriously “sick” drum and bass this song is for you.” – EDGE Entertainment News

===================================

BAND STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS:

1. With this new album, Crawling Manifest really dug deep into a current event/political mindset, with almost all of the lyrics reflecting on the struggles of the everyday person in the world of 2020. For example, the song “Right to Refrain Silence,” is nothing short of a fight song, with every line pointing out the failings of our leaders, and coming together in the chorus of “United we stand, divided they fall.”

2. At the beginning of the recording process for this release, “Radical Absolution” was supposed to be a four-song EP…. Then COVID happened. When we started coming out of lockdown, we met back up to go over what we had written, and how we wanted to move forward. During that we realized wait… we have way too many songs for this…. You wanna make this an album? And now we have an album.

=========================================

The album as a whole (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):
Musically, the album is our modern take on our favorite types of thrash metal, and how we could best blend all of them and mold them to our own vision. It’s an aggressive, hard-hitting combination of riffs, topped with equally aggressive vocals and fast, piercing solos. The start of the album is an emotional instrumental build-up to the first track, and the last track fading out to a soft, bluesy groove really reminds me of taking a deep breath, letting everything that’s been build up inside out, and then starting fresh

Track by track expalined (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):
1. Land of the Free: This song was one of the last ones to be finalized. Because it’s an instrumental track, we were constantly back and forth about every note in the track. We ended up having this on here as a lead in not just because we thought it sounded cool, but because it built up an atmosphere that we wanted for the album. Something that sounded like it was struggling like it had to fight to stay alive.

2. World War III: World War III was the first song that we wrote for this album. When we sat down to talk about what kind of sound we wanted to go for, Trevor picked up his guitar and was like, “but how ‘bout this riff?” And started playing what is now the intro to World War III. We instantly fell in love and started fleshing it out more. Lyrically, this song is straight-up a “fuck you” to billionaires. People are exploited every day by people who just reap the benefits of the working class’s labor, so the only thing left to say there is, “Eat the Fucking Rich.”

3. Nothing to Lose: Nothing to Lose is one of my favorite songs on this release. It starts out with an in-your-face riff and gives you no time to recover before going right into the verse. My favorite part of this song by far is the bridge. Once it hits that groove, it hits. Both musically and lyrically. I think what really comes it up are the lines, “So have it your way, already used to abuse. Let’s have it your way, with you there’s nothing to lose.

4. Right to Refrain Silence: This is the album’s fight song, to give the listener that “get up and go” feeling. At its core, this song is designed to hit a nerve. Especially in this last year, we’ve seen far too much in the news about police violence, and that’s something that we as a band cannot support and feel the need to speak out against. We really wanted to capture this in both the lyrics and the music. There are drive and intensity in this song that pushes that sentiment. We needed this song to be just as heavy and gritty as the topic we’re singing about.

5. Radical Absolution: Radical Absolution is about how the media skews our perception of what’s going on around us and desensitizes us to the important happenings and issues of today. It all gets swept under the media rug by bullcrap, forcing us to have to look for these stories ourselves. In the foreground of this song, those who are supposed to provide leadership and guidance are handwaving everything important away. We can’t trust who we’re looking to for current events and leadership to keep us informed, and we have to truly fight for that information. The listener is meant to hear this struggle between the leaders/media and the people between the verses and the chorus.

6. Blood Born: Blood Born is a song written from the perspective of those incarcerated for petty shit. The current prison over-saturation exposes those arrested for quite often stupid “crimes” are exposed to similar or the same treatment and abuse that violent criminals live through and only contribute to a culture of “lock away and forget” that our country seems to be so fond of. The lyrics provide a pretty clear message. When the haves oppress the have nots, then this will be the start of a war.

7. Revolution: Revolution is the second single we released for this album. Functioning as another fight song for our listeners, the goal of this piece was to inspire others to make their voices heard. Being a musician makes it easy for us to speak up and be heard, but not everyone has that luxury. With Revolution, we wanted to motivate our listeners to speak up and use their own voices.

8. Onslaught: As the closer for the album we really wanted to make a statement. Onslaught at its core is a song about winning the war and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. At the end of the day, we’re in this together, and when the enemy starts crawling away, we’ll be standing at the top. Together.

About:

Crawling Manifest was formed in 2014 on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, USA. The thrash metal band incorporates elements from death metal, modern metal and core.

After multiple line-up changes, live shows, and tours, playing alongside bands such as Fleshgod Apocalypse, Soulfly, Soilwork, Carach Angren and Kataklysm, remaining members Andrew Gladu and Trevor Layton made the decision to write new music taking influence from the bands they grew up listening to and combining a love of death and thrash metal into a powerful new sound.

It starts off with a beer, which turns into a riff and it just goes from there; Gladu and Layton work closely together on all aspects of the writing process, save for when they veer off to pay specific attention to lyrics and vocals.

So far, Crawling Manifest has released two EPs “Forevermore” (2016) and “Lords of War” (2019), and the full-length “Battlegrounds” (2016). In 2021, they will release a second full-length, the politically charged “Radical Absolution” on May 14th.

“We are very happy that this album is finally seeing the light of day. It’s our first full-length album and it’s been in the works for a couple of years, so it’s exciting that it is finally done. We got killer artwork for the cover, great production, and it sounds awesome. For a small band like us, having a debut album that looks and sounds as good as it does is really exciting! From the first song to the last song, it’s high-energy, it flows really well, it’s just non-stop. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

“These guys…were doing double freaking leads…It was one of the most insane, incredible things that I’ve seen…it was kind of like Iron Maiden…it was inf****kingsane. Check these guys out.” ~ Keeper Magazine

“their recent studio release contains everything one could think of in a power metal group. They have the prototypical flying guitar leads, blazing fast guitar chugs, extended solo breaks and over the top vocals. What really makes this band shine is their impressive guitar work. The duo of Danny Fang and Nick Harrington, relatively new to the metal scene themselves, easily puts them into San Diego’s higher echelon of guitar players. They often trade solos in their 5-7 minute long song structures, exchange guitar leads during bridges and choruses, and are incredibly sharp.” – Metal Assault

Unleashing the rhythmic beasts with fast, aggressive, and heavy melodic passion, Nightshadow brings unforgiving committed focus to epic power metal with the rich, powerful, dynamic force in the vocals of singer Brian Dell; thunderous, exhilarated energy of drummer Sean Woodman; dominating, double lead shredding magic in guitarists Nick Harrington and Danny Fang; rounding out with the crushing, methodical thumping of bassist Chris Bader laying a secure concrete foundation.

Originally formed in 2012 by guitarist Nick Harrington who then moved years later to San Diego to connect with his remaining band members, Nightshadow pounded the stage hard at their debut show in July 2016 and quickly developed a solid reputation with enthusiastic feedback and strong positive audience responses to their metal musical efforts fused with influences of Amon Amarth, King Diamond, Slayer, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Hammerfall, and Stratovarius.

With tight instrumentation blended with intense perfection of notes hit on point, Nightshadow further established themselves by sharing the stage with the best of San Diego’s local talent as well as opening for national acts including Appice Brothers, The Iron Maidens, Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime, Marty Friedman, Hammerfall, Beastö Blancö, and Adrenaline Mob.

San Diego’s MONARCH are declaring “Nuclear Warfare” with their new thrashing music video in support of their upcoming sophomore album “Future Shock” due out April 16th.

The video is a slamming assault, showcasing the Wacken Metal Battle USA champions‘ loud speedball riffs till the very end. The track was originally written by vocalist/guitarist Matt Smith as an assignment for a composition course while earning his Associate of Arts in Classical Music Degree. It’s a full circle Metal-education!

The video can be viewed via its premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

Compared to their first, very DIY album, 2017’s “Go Forth… Slaughter”, MONARCH‘s next escapade “Future Shock” was done professionally at Clarity Recordings in El Cajon, California, and is a big step forward for the band both musically and sonically. It explores the entire spectrum of the band’s creativity, with each song varying in sound, but maintains a cohesive feeling. The band comments on the album:

“We’re all just super excited to get this album out to everyone because I think everyone right now needs something new to get excited about. At the time of this release, the world is still under quarantine from the COVID-19 virus in parts of the world and we think it will be a welcome escape from having to worry so much right now. We should all be cautious of course, but we can’t make our lives not worth living. This album really inspires us to write even better and we’re still amazed at how it came out. We look forward to hearing its response by fans and getting to play it live and loud again.”

Hitting hard on a lot of levels, from the riffs, the solos, the speed, the heaviness, the melodies to the great memorable lyrics and the dynamic range of the band’s creativity, MONARCH is recommended for fans of Exodus, Slayer, and Testament.

“Future Shock” is set for release on April 16, 2021.

““Go Forth… Slaughter” is a loud record that is full of twists and turns. Hopefully this release encourages Monarch to do some touring beyond Southern California, because songs like these need more ears.” – SD Metal

“A very colorful cover can also win over many fence-sitting people – and the rawer attention to detail on the production front gives us a clearer picture of what to expect live (a sinister snare snap plus in your face guitar tones duly noted). Go Forth…Slaughter executes in that late 80’s/early 90’s thrash/death platform, where people lost interest in major label veterans straying into commercial waters. Monarch makes it safe for you to trust their music: brutal, aggressive, and all for the love of the genre.” – Dead Rhetoric

“‘a super solid speed metal record.” – Metal Assault (2017 – Review – Go Forth... Slaughter)

Atlanta’s Sennight drives forth with their heavy, melancholic brand of melodic metal that can quickly be felt by the listener who is washed over with pronounced energy. It commands attention and is not a sound that is easily forgotten. Compared to their earlier demos, which were more of an alternative metal sound, their music has gotten faster and more energetic since then.

Planning to release their first full-length “New Takes The Old”, which features guests Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable), Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse, Blackwater Drowning, Azymyth), and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual) later in 2021 to follow their 2019 debut EP “Fear of The Unseen”. The duo of Adam Mast (Bass, Vocals) and Trevor Norris (Guitar) are ready to introduce more of themselves to the world with the release of the third single from the upcoming 10 track album.

Entitled “Golden Crown”, the single is a heavy detuned track that features a brilliant solo from guest guitarist Ron Dalton Jr.

Vocalist/bassist Adam Mast explains “Golden Crown” in further detail:

“We used a rarer guitar tuning on Golden Crown – BADGBE (Standard tuning with bottom E down a 5th), which took us out of our comfort zone for riffs and chords, but we were really happy how the track finally came together. Somehow the song took on a heavier pocket/down tempo feeling while staying with that cold melodic vibe that we like to use. There’s also a fabulously ripped solo by Ron Dalton Jr., and it has to be one of the best on the album. The lyrics sort of play between nebulous themes of change, death, and leaving behind old states of being to embrace new ones.”

“Golden Crown”, Sennight‘s third single can be heard via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

Spotify pre-save here.

Sennight‘s forthcoming album “New Takes The Old” will be comprised of ten songs with a variety of colors, sometimes energetic and penetrating, other times somber and plodding. The album was recorded over several sessions at Jam Room Studio in Columbia, SC, and a few parts were done remotely at guitarist Trevor Norris’ home studio. Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable) and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual) also recorded their guest solos remotely. The lyrical content on the album is largely inspired by various European mythologies and epic stories: people striving and persevering against terrible odds and having otherworldly experiences.

Ever ambitious, Sennight has more plans for releases after this upcoming 2021 album drops.

Recommended for fans of Katatonia, Opeth, and Kamelot, Sennight‘s previous singles “Arise” and “Tearing Free”, can also be heard on Bandcamp, Spotify. Apple Music.

About:

Atlanta’s Sennight was founded in 2017 by bassist/vocalist/songwriter Adam Mast. After years of playing bass in the extreme metal scene, his musical tastes and direction changed and he began writing in a more melodic/heavy metal direction. Influenced by melodic metal bands such as Katatonia, Opeth, and Kamelot, he sought to craft a sound with heavy guitars and drums entwined with harmonic vocal melodies.

Sennight’s first EP “Fear of the Unseen” came out in May 2019, recorded at Jam Room Studio in Columbia, SC with engineer Zac Thomas. Joining in on the studio tracks were a couple of ace North Carolina metal musicians: Drummer David Holquin (Violent Life Violent Death) and guitarist Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse).

Wasting no time, Sennight reentered the Jam Room Studio in late 2019, again with Thomas at the console, and began recording their first LP “New Takes The Old” with guitarist Trevor Norris officially joining the band in early 2020. Holquin and Dalton Jr. helped again with studio tracking and the sessions along with guest guitar solo appearances from mainstay southeastern metallers Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable) and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual).

Up to this point, the writing has been done by Mast who fully demos the songs on a DAW and sends them to the other studio players. The guitar solos are fully made by the individual players and the drums are creatively improved by the drummer. When it comes to their live shows, metal fans can anticipate a high energy set with a big guitar sound, in true classic rock band style with no backing tracks. Sennight’s debut album “New Takes the Old” can be expected in 2021.

Calgary, Canada’s Osyron unleashed their latest album “Foundations” in July 2020. The release was an immersive exploration of Canadian history and identity, speaking on topics of the country’s colonization to its mistreatment and recognition of Aboriginals to its participation in global warfare. Although it was not a conceptual release, it did bear a consistent theme across nearly the entirety of the record.

Now in 2021, with great reception from new fans for “Foundations”, Osyron has decided to re-introduce the past to the present with the re-release of their 2017 album “Kingsbane” in a Deluxe Edition on May 14th.

The Deluxe Edition of “Kingsbane” will feature all original tracks from the 2017 full-length re-mixed and re-mastered (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb). There will also be three re-written and re-arranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker, and Razor’s Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Anstey. The original recordings of the bonus tracks were written by guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, but for the Deluxe Edition were collaborated by the whole band. The Deluxe Edition of “Kingsbane” was also entirely re-mixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and re-mastered by drummer Cody Anstey.

The band adds:

“Doing a re-release was never on our radar before, and definitely not something we previously considered for such a long and fleshed out album. However,  we felt that this album could do with a proper release in our target markets, and we had lots of time over the pandemic to try and breathe some new life into it. As such, we set out to remix and re-master the whole album, along with re-recording 3 songs in re-arranged states as singles. These three songs were picked based on their reception live, our personal connection to them, or the amount of potential we saw in re-arranging them. We’re super excited to get all these songs out for you in a higher quality mix, but we’re easily most excited to get you to hear these new takes on some of our “classics”.

For “Kingsbane”, Osyron dives into a story of a hero who must reluctantly take up arms against a tyrant king in a neighbouring land. Along the way, he faces many inward, and outward challenges he must overcome to achieve his goal. Through it all, the hero learns a valuable lesson that even though they are duty-bound to stop this great evil, this great evil is also in the eye of the beholder. They discover that the weight of absolute power has the potential to corrupt absolutely – maybe not all villains are as one-dimensional as they seem from the outset.

Leading up to the release of “Kingsbane” Deluxe Edition”, Osyron will also be releasing a music video on April 9th for the new version of their single “Viper Queen”.

A teaser for that video can be viewed via YouTube – https://youtu.be/CVK6tn011fE

The band comments on the single:

“Viper Queen” had actually always felt like the “odd one” out on the album, especially stylistically. All of the other songs have sections that repeat from song to song, or motifs that reprise, and all the other songs have a section that acts as a part of the intro piece (From Ashes). Viper Queen never really fell into that same groove and was never considered as a single on the first release of Kingsbane. However, it immediately did well live. People absolutely loved the song, and even we felt that especially live it captured a certain energy that was maybe missed from the recorded performance. We’ve even received comments from people about how they didn’t really get Viper Queen until they came to a show and watched it happen live, so to that end, we wanted to really nail it for the re-release. We re-arranged it to trim some of what we considered the fat, and we sped up the tempo to more accurately translate some of that “live” intensity we felt the song was missing!”

With powerful songwriting and progressive symphonic melodies, fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun can enjoy Osyron‘s “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” when it’s released on May 14th, 2021.

The band’s previous album “Foundations” is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer HERE.

What the press is saying:
“Their excellent blend of melody, speed and power always hits the sweet spot and I always enjoy seeing them. Progressive Power Metal at its finest. I could see them playing in Atlanta on PowerProg one year soon!” – Metal Rules (Live Review)

“Everything about KINGSBANE is supremely well done. They are one of my new favourite Canadian bands!” – Metal Rules (2017 Kingsbane album review)

“‘Kingsbane’ Voted #17 Best of 2017” – Metal Rules

“Everything about this band is top quality and one of the most proficient, mature, classy and yet still exciting new bands in this field.” – Metal Rules (Foundations 2020)

“Get close, get warm and listen to the tales told of Canada by Osyron. 8/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life (Foundations 2020)

“From acoustic to symphonic, each song has plenty of twists and turns with potent vocals and compelling arrangements that showcase Osyron’s instrumental prowess.” – Heavy Music Headquarters (Foundations 2020)

“Foundations is an impressive, very likeable album that will no doubt strongly appeal to a diverse range of metalheads, from fans of European power metal, to prog metallers, to fans of more modern metal. Given the strong quality of this EP, I very much look forward to their next full-length album, which could really establish Osyron as a new, fresh force in the international metal scene.” – Metal Observer (Foundations 2020)

“Foundations puts the band front and center for another Canadian breakthrough to a worldwide audience. Osyron succeed in creating a musically catchy effort that also contains some interesting twists and killer interplay when necessary – and should be a band to keep tabs on.” – Dead Rhetoric (Foundations 2020)

“Seriously, it had been a long time since I had been blown away by a progressive metal release and this one does not disappoint. The production is on point and every song has its place on this EP to demonstrate what these guys are capable of. If you are looking for something different and fresh in a genre that has been known to stagnate, give this EP a nice long listen.” – Metal Temple (Foundations 2020)

“Foundations is genuinely unlike anything I’ve heard before and it’s had me going back for multiple listens precisely for this reason. The musicianship and songwriting are of high quality, but it’s the production that really sells it.” – Moshville (Foundations 2020)

0 Rockshots Records: New Album Out Now! “War of The Jewels” + New Music Video “Apocalypse” – Tolkien Inspired Progressive Rock Orchestra AINUR

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 19, 2021

For fans of Ayreon, Dream Theater, Nightwish, J.R.R. Tolkien, Lords of The Rings, The Hobbit

Rockshots Records: Tolkien Inspired Progressive Rock Orchestra AINUR New Music Video “Apocalypse”

New Album “War of The Jewels” Out Now!

Inspired by Tolkienian mythology, prog-rock orchestra Ainur has been composing J.R.R. Tolkien masterpieces into galloping escapades across the audio landscape for nearly two decades.

Their next anticipated record “War of The Jewels” is now out via Rockshots Records as of Friday, March 19th, 2021 (CD+Digital) with the vinyl release on June 12th. For its release day, the band is sharing their new music video for the full-length’s closing track “Apocalypse”.

“This song concludes the album and we wanted to end an epic album like this with an epic song. Apocalypse is the musical representation of the sinking of Beleriand when ‘the valleys were upheaved and the hills trod down, and Sirion was no more’. The rhythm of the beginning of the song leaves space to a moment of darkness and immobility broken by the string section movement and it grows up until the ending explosion. It is also a song of hope: the war against the Dark Lord has finally ended and the Middle-Earth can now focus on a new beginning ‘hoping from now on the sun will shine’.”

The music video for “Apocalypse”can be viewed via Rockshots Records YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/ca59N60FvnI

For “War of The Jewels”, Ainur take an interesting evolution in sound from previous releases, completely immersing fans in J.R.R.Tolkien’s war atmospheres. They have imagined every story and every battle and recreate them through unique and deep music. The compositional process of “War of The Jewels” was very long. It started in 2009 (or maybe before) and it ended more or less last year. Ainur sees it as their “rebirth” album. They have been working hard composing and arranging their music to create the best tribute to Tolkien’s histories that they can.

The band comments:

“‘War of the Jewels’ is the eleventh volume of “The History of Middle-Earth”. In Tolkien’s mythology is the tale of the big wars that came out after the creation of the Silmarils by Fëanor. The main theme is the big battles of Beleriand, except for Nirnaeth Arnoediad that will have big space in our next album. The main implied character is Fëanor, the mightiest of the Elves. Musically, it’s a thematic album as all our previous and future ones and you will recognize musical themes that we already used in “From Ancient Times”, “Children of Hùrin” and “Lay of Leithian”; however, the atmospheres are more aggressive and mighty than in the past because the topics we have put in Music this time needed a more powerful musical support.”

Fans of Tolkien’s work along with fans of Ayreon, Queen, and John Williams will be surprised by the majesty and the energy of this work.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 18, 2021

For fans of Dream Theater, Keith Merrow, Periphery, Tesseract, Jeff Loomis

Streaming Now! Manuel Barbará’s Debut Progressive Metal Album “Moonrise”

Album Stream via Metal-Rules

Album Out March 19th, 2021

New Jersey’s Manuel Barbará has a debut album “Moonrise” out and it will be streaming on all music platforms for the listening pleasure of prog fans worldwide as of Friday, March 19th. Barbará is the sole songwriter of this project and it marks the beginning of his foray into the musical world.

And before the album officially drops, its full stream is being premiered via Metal-Rules HERE.

Barbará took up the guitar at the age of 16 and managed to successfully audition for Berklee at age 18. The debut album “Moonrise” is an unique piece of music, much of the writing was done during the very early days of his training in classical composition. For Barbará, this work is a journey through a series of sonic worlds and colors that he has carefully crafted. He comments on the album:

“This music has been part of my own little universe for so long, and I am beyond excited to share it with the world. The process of making the album has been an epic journey, a learning experience, and a trial by fire all wrapped into one and I am looking forward to bringing that journey to an audience, and into the future with the music that is to come.

The purpose of music for me, after all the craft and technique and study are done, is to draw the listeners in and allow them to experience totally new worlds. The details of those worlds will be up to each individual person, but I hope the audience will join me on this small adventure I’ve prepared.”

According to Barbará, these songs, so far, were only ever performed live once and are not likely to be performed again for some time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he makes an effort during his live performances to avoid the “musical statues” syndrome that plagues so many prog bands.

A fluid and extravagant progressive masterpiece await fans of Periphery, Tesseract, and Jeff Loomis.

The full album is out on March 19, 2021.
Album pre-order is available on 8stringalchemy.bandcamp.com.

“With its rhythmic elements and heavy riffs, Manuel Barbará’s debut album is in the purity of modern instrumental progressive metal. But his influences from classical composers add an interesting extra touch.”- Music Waves

“a spectacular showcase of the progressive qualities of Manuel Barbará.” – Games, Brains and A Headbanging Life

“without a doubt that we have a talented musician and composer in front of us. The approach is in large parts of the material progressive metal with the corresponding hardness and complexity… You can’t deny the band’s instrumental quality…” – Metal-Heads.de
