Rockshots Records – NeroArgento To Release Sixth Studio Album Oct 2022

New Music Video “The Way I Am”

Award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer, NeroArgento announces he will be releasing his sixth studio album “Land of Silence” via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022.

An explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds, “Land of Silence” follows the success of 2020’s “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify.

“Land Of Silence” is the most coherent record to date from NeroArgento‘s discography. It’s a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers.

With great attention to every aspect, “Land of Silence” is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento. The record was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer).

To anticipate the album’s release, NeroArgento has chosen the track “The Way I Am” as the first single.

“The track is influenced by a more classic nu-metal sound in the vibe of the early Linkin Park, but in a current guise, in the wake of bands like Tetrarch or Motionless in White with detuned guitars, massive grooves, and super melodic choruses,” adds NeroArgento.

The video clip for “The Way I Am” was directed by NeroArgento, Fabio Brunello (CGI), and Mattia Di Matera (live shots) and is a journey into the near future, composed of different power plays and opposing realities that contrast with each other in search of a balance that struggles to remain to stand, all surrounded by classic 80’s cyberpunk settings and the inevitable neon lights.

NeroArgento is recommended for fans of Motionless In White, Falling In Reverse, and Bring Me The Horizon.

As a producer / arranger NeroArgento has appeared on more than 50 records released worldwide, is endorsed by ESP guitars, ML sound Labs, and Mad Cat Amps.

Hailing from Los Angeles, USA, Our Dying World has been hard at work over the pandemic forging a new path in the metal world. Initially, they were more in the vein of thrashy death and released their debut album in 2019, but now they have embraced the melodic side of things and present their new form to the world through “Hymns of Blinding Darkness”. They explain further:

“It is an exceptional album of melody, personal experience, and the dedication of trying to push ourselves to our furthest limit. Lyrically, it speaks of many walks of life: sorrow, loss, hopelessness, but also empowerment, triumph, and solitude. There’s something for everyone to relate to in the wake of current times and cultural status. Musically, the record is attempting to stand out with its sophisticated arrangements, catchy hooks, and heavy melodies. It feels like a massive step up from where we were with Expedition and we think it’ll present itself as such.”

For the band, music comes from the spirit and when the lyrics happen, they’re usually derived from a personal experience or feeling that is going on in their lives. Musically, symphonic and melodic death metal isn’t the only genre that inspires them, they also give prominent nods to blues through their leads and solos.

Sticklers for details, when it is time for the band to go live they will provide an experience that’s more personal, intimate, and involved for the audience, unleashing a torrent of deep emotion, intense passion, and flowing melodic death metal upon fans.

“Hymns of Blinding Darkness” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Alex Crescioni at Stygian Sound. It is recommended for listeners of Wintersun, Children Of Bodom, and Nightwish

The album “Hymns Of Blinding Darkness” can be heard in full via its premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

The full-length officially releases on June 24, 2022.

About:

Over the last few years, Los Angeles’s Our Dying World has gone through a tremendous evolution of sound from thrashy death metal of their debut EP Expedition to the symphonic and melodic keyboard-oriented stylings of bands like Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, and Dimmu Borgir.

Formed in 2018 by drummer/guitarist Tom Tierney (ex-Whiplash), the group has played shows all over the USA in their short time together, bringing their sound from the fabled Sunset Strip in Hollywood to the New Jersey Metalfest where they opened for Metal Mike of Halford.

One thing is clear from the young band as they prepare for the release of their second release; they’ve come to stir the standards that hold the metal scene and redefine them.

0 ELEKTRIC MISTRESS Are Now Streaming Psychedelic Stoner Rock EP “Chapter 99”

  • June 15, 2022

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 15, 2022

Elektric Mistress Are Now Streaming Psychedelic Stoner Rock EP “Chapter 99”

Enticing listeners with a smooth blend of psychedelic groove and rocking stoner licks, Halifax, Canada’s Elektric Mistress have a banging EP coming out entitled “Chapter 99” on June 17th, and before it officially drops they have teamed up with Bravewords for its full stream premiere HERE.

For “Chapter 99”, they toned down a bit of the spacey stuff in favour of classic, straightforward stoner rock, inspired heavily by Black Sabbath, and explore lyrical themes such as madness, the occult, the dangers of substance abuse, and lost love. They share their excitement for the release:

“Friends, this EP has been a long time coming. As a lot of other bands experienced at the beginning of the pandemic, not being able to gather as a full band or find open studio space kind of made making music difficult. So we decided to do it mostly by ourselves, at a distance. With some help, we got it done. We’re stoked to finally present it for streaming everywhere. We hope it’s worth a listen or three.”

An immersive rock experience, both live and on record, Elektric Mistress is the kind of band you turn up loud and vibe out to. Musically proficient, the mood gets set with the initial riffs and the group intuitively jams everything out, employing genre influences such as sludge and blues.

The EP is entirely self-recorded, which is a process the band is still working out, and with pockets full of original riff ideas, they have a slew of new tracks ready to go, so fans of this release won’t have long to wait for the next batch.

Akin to ‘smoke rings in a blizzard’, Elektric Mistress offers high-energy psychedelic heartache along with some witchcraft! They are recommended listening for fans of Pink Floyd, Kyuss, and Sleep.

About:
Channeling the energy of inspirations such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Pink Floyd, Halifax, Canada Elecktic Mistress is all about the groove with their face-punching psychedelic stoner rock firmly rooted in what has come before, but also pushing towards what is ahead. If you’re looking for a true retro psychedelic synth-rock experience with a progressive edge, Elektric Mistress is here to deliver! Take a deep breath and ride the wave through a hypnotic haze of electric highs and sedated tones to take you back in time and return again.

Comprised of guitarists Kyle Cantfell (Guitar) and Jason Cantfell, bassist Kieran Richardson, vocalist Maxwell Poole, keyboardist, Riley MacDonald and drummer Valencia Canales , Elektric Mistress began their journey through oblivion in 2018, making noise on the Canadian East coast scene, which included performing on the area’s largest event, the Maritime Metal and Hard Rock Festival during the same year of their conception.

The band released their first debut in 2019 with their self-titled EP showcasing their unique soundscape of stoner rock ignited with crunchy, groovy guitar riffs, bombastic drums, dirty keys, and choice bass licks plus loud and raspy vocals. Now in 2022, the band returns with their follow-up and sophomore EP “Chapter 99” for release in June 2022.

The band adds: “Friends, this EP has been a long time coming. We hope it’s worth a listen or three. We think we’ve been steady on the course as far as evolution goes for this next release. However, now that guitarist Jason Cantfell has joined the band, we’ve been doing a lot more guitar harmonies and stuff we couldn’t do before; the end part in Cocaine Johnny is a good example of that. Definitely expect more of that in the future.”

“Chapter 99” is due out on June 17, 2022 and will be available on all digital platforms.

0 Face Your “Judgment” With The Fifth Studio Album From THE SILVERBLACK ft. guest Burton C. Bell (ex-Fear Factory)

  • June 10, 2022
  • by Asher
  • · Music News · The Silverblack

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 10, 2022

Face Your “Judgment” With The Fifth Studio Album From THE SILVERBLACK ft. guest Burton C. Bell (ex-Fear Factory)

Brought to life by the devious minds of the multi-instrumentalist and producer Alessio NeroArgento and vocalist Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer, Disarmonia Mundi), The Silverblack is an industrial metal creature that quickly developed its own malicious sound, spitting out extremely catchy tracks, mainly keyboard-driven and supported by a wide range of vocals (from goth deep voices to extremely irate death metal shouts) featuring both sharp and aggressive passages and more atmospheric and eerie moments.

The band’s fifth studio album “Judgment” is now available as of June 10th via German label darkTunes and marks a substantial evolution in the band’s sound, focusing more on aggression and heaviness when compared to their previous records, without forgetting the usual dose of catchy hooks and haunting melodies the band is already known for.

Today in support of the record, they are also sharing their latest music video for the album’s title track, which features guest vocals from industrial metal pioneer and former Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell.

Watch “Judgment” at – https://youtu.be/7iTcPSyEBpw

Talking about the prestigious collaboration the band stated:

“Doing features is pretty common these days, but we wanted this to be quite special and meaningful. We consider this album the culmination of a process we started a bunch of years ago with the first record: in the beginning, we didn’t know where we wanted to go, musically speaking, so we simply developed and evolved our style year after year, album after album. It’s been a natural process: as soon as we finished this album we understood this is what we wanted to do since the beginning of the band and to put the proverbial icing on the cake we decided to recruit a singer that with his band started this kind of music in the first place. Burton’s tone is unique: he is the voice of industrial metal and we wouldn’t be here playing this kind of music if it wasn’t for bands like Fear Factory who broke down boundaries within styles paving the way for what came next, so having him on our record is truly an honor and a one of a kind experience. His distinctive vocals brought the song to a whole new level and we can’t wait for people to hear it”.

Physical Album – https://darkmerch.com/thesilverblack

About the album:

The pounding title track opens the album with its bone-crushing rhythm and cinematic atmospheres featuring guest vocals by none other than iconic former Fear Factory singer Burton C. Bell delivers an incredibly strong and inspired performance gifting the song with an amazing chorus. The title track is quickly followed by another two ragers: “Punishment” and “A Lifetime Ago”. Both tracks hit the listener hard balancing aggressive parts with more melodic moments, written with the clear purpose in mind of being absolute live-crushers these two songs represent exactly where the band feels comfortable being at the moment.

“Chasing Ghosts” brings back some gothic elements to the band’s sound, with Infernalizer (born Claudio Ravinale, also known for being the vocalist of melodic-death metal veterans Disarmonia Mundi, featuring Soilwork’s singer Speed Strid among their ranks) switching from the harsh growly vocals showcased in the previous tracks to a deep crooning voice in the vibe of Type O Negative and Moonspell. The following “Sometimes They Come Back” features an uncompromising aggrotech assault partly mitigated by the catchy chorus by the multi-instrumentalist NeroArgento, who is also responsible for all the melodic vocals on the album besides recording and producing all the instruments and the album itself.

“Chrysalis” develops into a shape-shifting industrial metal interlude before the bleak assault of “Damaged” hits the listener straight in the face with its feral vocals, cyber synths, and crushing rhythm section. “Nocturne” is probably the lightest moment of the whole album featuring heavy retro-wave influences, theatrical gothic vocals, and a huge chorus while “Reality Check” hits hard again with its pounding assault.

“One Last Nail” delivers the last handful of industrial metal kicks in the face supported by a more rock ‘n’ roll influenced groove before the forlorn melancholy of the almost-ballad “Into Null” closes what can be considered the darkest and heaviest “The Silverblack” album to date.

1. Judgment (feat. Burton C. Bell)

0 V13 Video Premiere – StormbounD Share Their Optimistic Love Song “Flying High” Off Upcoming “December”

Hailing from Israel, StormbounD are adding to the symphonic metal subgenre with their latest single “Flying High”. This is the third single off their upcoming record “December”, which is slated for summer release. The band coins the album as a “melodic prophecy of wrath” – a journey that will take the listener into new territory while staying firmly planted in symphonic roots. This new single is a love song, that almost didn’t make it onto the album as the band further explains:

“It’s an optimistic love song, where the man is a protagonist that helps his loved one overcome her suffering caused by a mental illness. During the recording, we noticed that all the “Irish” elements made the original chorus we had for it sound a little depressing, so we wrote new lyrics and composed a new chorus. That instantly became a winner. We almost cut this song out of the album and now it’s one of the leading singles.”

The main songwriter for StormbounD is vocalist/guitarist Ofer Friedman, but they say that it’s really about working together as a team and that everything is collaborative. In terms of writing order, they continue to say that lyrics and musical composition go hand in hand, whichever is written first will lead the way.

The band got together in 2018, and after a couple of shuffles and instrument switches, they arrived at their current lineup – powerful frontwoman Yael Horwitz climbs octaves while vocalist/guitarist Ofer Friedman adds a layer of grit to complement her. Guitarist Shani Friedman fills in with harmonized riffs and the rhythm section of bassist Pavel Kleiman and drummer Yuval Partush get heart rates going and heads banging. Keyboardist Rotem Sadia injects orchestrations, strings, and melodies that push StormbounD into the sky.

The combination of soaring riffs, beautiful vocals and heavy beats show that StormbounD is creative, yet accessible. They are recommended for fans of Evanescence, Epica, and Within Temptation.

The video for “Flying High” is being premiered on V13 HERE.

0 Montreal’s DEAD VELVET Meld Subtle Beauties In Destruction And Chaos With Debut Single “The Dogs”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal’s DEAD VELVET Meld Subtle Beauties In Destruction And Chaos With Debut Single “The Dogs”

L-R – Jesse (Vocals), Corey (Bass), Stretch (Guitar), Tylor (Drums)

Montreal’s Dead Velvet is a fresh new band that blends a bouncy, contagious, genre-crossing sound with a heartfelt poetic retelling of personal experiences, the first taste of which being the video single “The Dogs”. The single is about tainted relationships and is a great precursor to the music they’re going to be releasing in the future. The band is an interesting, well-thought-out mix of multiple genres, blurring the lines between old-school nu-metal, hardcore, and modern metal.

When the music for the track was being written, guitarist Eric (Stretch) Villeneuve was going for a trap vibe and hoping to infuse it with the get-on-your-feet energy that is present in hip hop. The structure pulls you in and spits you back out through its grooves and bumps and when the hook comes in it knocks you on your ass. The band explains the track:

“’The Dogs’ is the first song that we decided to share with the world and we chose this one because we find it well represents the general sound and musical aesthetic that we’re going for. It’s a blistering tale of lost love and trying to push past all the pain in a relationship to make it work when, really, it would probably make more sense to just leave. It’s about empty promises and broken dreams, and I think that’s something that many people have been through and a message that almost all of us can connect with on some level.”

Going forward, Dead Velvet plans to release a series of singles to show listeners what they’re capable of. They are making music that will get people on their feet and give them a reason to move. Welcome to the dead gang.

Aggressive, dark, and dirty, Dead Velvet is recommended for fans of Deftones, Stray From The Path, and Korn.

“The Dogs” can be seen and heard via its music video premiere on Metal Worldwide YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/qmVO-tNTFIM

0 Rockshots Records – BERIEDIR Celebrate Release of New Album “AQVA” w/ New Music Video “At Candle Light”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 21, 2022

Rockshots Records – BERIEDIR Celebrate Release of New Album “AQVA” w/ New Music Video “At Candle Light”

To celebrate the release of their new album “AQVA”, out now as of Friday, Jan 21st via Rockshots Records, progressive power metal legion Beriedir are sharing with fans their latest music video for the track “At Candle Light”. The song is about finding shelter in someone, not as a perfect saviour, but as a true companion, while treading a dark road in an unknown and strange place, all of this with the aid of the little light that we’re often allowed to have during our life.

The video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/Wr9K7sOvC5I

Beriedir‘s second full-length “AQVA” features ten tracks of progressive, power, and melodic death metal that were mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (Domination Studio).

“AQVA”, despite not being a real concept album with a story articulating itself throughout the tracks, touches its various topics through the many forms in which water manifests, be it a river, a storm or tears. The album deals with rather introspective matters, trying to give a new perspective on situations that Biriedir thinks their listeners will find relatable and hoping that they will maybe take shelter in their audio experience, using them as their own voice when only music can speak for us.

“We think AQVA will positively surprise our older fans and lead new ones, this record is much more diverse and has definitely matured in songwriting. The main goal of AQVA as a whole is to figuratively “submerge” the listener with a spectrum of themes, both musical and lyrical, related to water and its shapes. Water is the element of flow, it’s the substance that conceals, preserves, and washes all away. The lulling nature of a silent shore or a rapping rain is juxtaposed to the fearsome imagery of the undertow, riptides, and tidal waves. We tried to convey these atavistic sensations differently from track to track. The singles were chosen to showcase the variety of approaches to this theme.” adds band founder Stefano Nüsperli.

Recommended for fans of Vision Divine, Dream Theater, Dark Tranquillity, Pain of Salvation and Katatonia, “AQVA” is available for pre-order at the following links:

Ottawa, Canada’s Sinful Ways have a new music video for their track “Manhattan” off their sophomore EP “Darkest Days” that was recently unleashed on December 10th.

Designed for mosh pit debauchery, the song draws inspiration from the atomic bomb it’s named after. Lyrically, “Manhattan” has more of a political focus, criticizing mans need for dominance and superiority while disregarding the needs of society. If you listen closely to the outro section in Manhattan, the bass part was played by drummer Dave Matlak hitting the open string with drum sticks.

Watch and listen to “Manhattan” via its premiere on Hardcore Worldwide’s YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/nlwhMnWzvvc

Sinful Ways’ new EP “Darkest Days” blends melodic and thrashy elements along with three members sharing vocal duties, bassist Brad Lake doing cleans, drummer Dave Matlak doing main screams, and guitarist Frank Lahache on backing screams. The recording is an eighteen-minute exploration of war, anarchy, third world struggles, and mental health. Engaging fans with a mood-setting intro of crows, bells, and the wind, Sinful Ways lay a path into the opening track ‘Vow of the Devil’, a riffy, thrashy melodic vs. harsh experience. From there that band gets your fist-pumping with the anthemic ‘Bury The Hatchet’, which only gets you prepared for the perfectly titled ‘Manhattan’, an atomic bomb song solely written with a mosh pit in mind. To close out the EP, fans will experience ‘Pursuit’, the band’s most adventurous song that features an orchestral arrangement at the start before slamming into harmonized, sweep picking guitars.

The band adds about “Darkest Days”:

“Everyone struggles from time to time; we even recorded this EP remotely during these Covid times. We believe we finally found a way to blend our various styles and elements to create some mosh pit favourites! We want people to remember why they got into metal, the energy, the fun, and the guitars. We want them to relive the days they discover good music! From front to back, we believe this EP holds a lot of musical value.”

“Darkest Days” was produced and mixed by Cameron Dunn and mastered by Scott Middleton at Hillside Audio in Toronto. EP Artwork by Nik Paquin.

Recommended for fans of Trivium, Parkway Drive, Avenged Sevenfold, and Slipknot, “Darkest Days” is available on digital platforms at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/sinfulways/darkest-days-ep and Sinfulways.bandcamp.com.

Track Listing:
1. Welcome/Vow of the Devil (4:46)
2. Bury the Hatchet (3:40)

“A huge sound, massive riffs and ferocious roaring, the drums providing a thunderous backdrop.”” – The Razor’s Edge

“Canadian metal band Sinful Ways are on a quest to bring you, well, metal. With influences that span multiple subgenres (especially including a helping of thrash metal influence), the band are offering up Darkest Days – their sophomore EP. Many of these songs are truly written with the moshpit action in mind, making for a solid introduction to the band. It’s only 18 minutes long, too, so tracks like “Vow Of The Devil” (an EP standout) manage to not drag on too long” – New Fury Media

“The band have spent the last two years or so releasing content, slowly piecing together where they want to go. Like the title track to their first EP To Hell Tonight, there’s an attempt at loftier songwriting with closer “Pursuit.” Its grandiose guitar solo and ensuing breakdown are an excellent snapshot of the group’s evolution.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“…as the crows kraa an arty spoken word sets the tone as “Welcome” bursts into “Vow of the Devil“, a classic Trivium esq all out riff attack that blends elements of Thrash, Groove and Metalcore into one homogeneous seething beast accompanied by a scathing vocal attack encased in a classic Thrash bark at very much acts as a wake up call before “Bury The Hatchet” comes in swinging like a wrecking ball. The band made the statement that they had worked at their instruments while unable to play shows and in the second offering that time spent comes into its own with dedication to their craft and attention to detail shining like a lighthouse beacon over stormy waters.” – Metal Noise
