Founding member and mastermind behind Elderoth, Collin McGee comments:

Bringing in the new far eastern oriental influences has really added a new twist to the development of our own unique style. I feel it is only just the beginning. This album showcases many new fresh and original ideas that we had to put on the table. The band’s 2015 lineup features founding member Collin McGee on guitars and vocals with Xavier Sperdouklis on bass, Vincent Harnois on guitars and Jessy Normand on drums. Mcgee, the man behind the vision of Elderoth is the primary author, composer, lead guitarist, and singer. Asher Media Presents Amnesia Rock Fest – Concours Rocker

Proceeds being donated to Animatch – Dog rescue and adoption

Asher Media Relations in association with Amnesia Rock Fest is proud to announce it will be hosting ‘Concours Rocker’, a series of battle of the bands dates for Montreal area rock / alternative / punk and metal bands to compete for one to perform at this year’s 2015 edition in Montebello, QC along with raising funds to aid dog rescue and adoption service Animatch.

Submissions will be open till May 3rd with 12 bands being selected for preliminary rounds being held on May 12th, 24th, and 28th at Les Katacombes.

The 4 bands with the highest percentage score from the judges after the three preliminary rounds will move on to the final, also at Katacombes on June 11th.

The winner of the final will perform at Rockfest plus get paid, get fed, get weekend fest passes along with a press announcement announcing winner to media.

Les inscriptions se feront jusqu’au 3 mai avec 12 groupes qui seront sélectionnés pour les rondes préliminaires qui auront lieu le 12, 24, et 28 mai aux Katacombes.

Les 4 groupes avec le meilleur pointage (%) de nos juges après les 3 rondes préliminaires accéderont à la finale, aussi aux Katacombes le 11 juin.

Thrashers and 2014 Wacken Metal Battle Canada champions MUTANK have announced new show dates in Ontario and Quebec, which includes a support date for Night Demon in Montreal, a slot at Trailer Thrash Fest in St. Pie, QC alongside Anonymus and Augury plus and appearance at Thrash Fest Rock in Trois Rivieres, QC and a fall date in NYC for New York Death Fest where they will share the stage with an international line up that includes Gutalax, Soils of Fate, Uncleansed, Dehumanized and more. Listen up! You want mosh happy crossover-thrash from another planet? Fast riffs? Rippin’ solos? Then stop giving a fuck what other people think and prepare for some neck aerobics from Montreal, QC’s MUTANK!

Formed when three Newfoundlanders crossed paths in the Canadian heavy metal capital with Ahmed Saad who hails from the Middle East, the injection of music immediately began to flow through their veins and M.E.C.H. metal was soon born.

“It stands for Middle East Coast Heavy Metal; Our drummer being from the Middle East and the rest of the members being from the east coast of Canada,” explains Stephen Reynolds (bass, vocals).

It also just so happens to be the title of the band’s debut album ‘M.E.C.H. Metal’, which features eight monumental thrash tracks that will either make you want to punch something or just plain dance while delivering thoughtful, honest lyrics for those who wish to look deeper.

“Every single person in this band is a songwriter, so the songs come out with their own feel and develop naturally.’ continues Reynolds. ‘We don’t shackle ourselves to any kind of focused idea, which brings about a sort of honesty in the music not often found in metal.’

M.E.C.H. Metal was unleashed on February 1, 2014 with the video ‘Heavy Hand of The Doomsday Clock‘ and is available on the band’s bandcamp here.

Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy.
