Montreal, QC – June 4, 2020

For fans of Nevermore, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Pantera, Arch Enemy

‘Sparks Fly” w/ DEMISE OF THE CROWN Music Video Premiere via NewFuryMedia

New Album “Life In The City” Out Now!

Brandish your weapons and bare your teeth in the battle for new world order with metal quintet, Demise Of The Crown. Garnering a reputation for redefining modern metal with a sound that is a melting pot of styles, catchy choruses alongside explosive guitar solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen topped off with frontman Darren Beadman’s striking vocal techniques, the Montreal band unleashed their new album “Life In The City” this past April.

Teaming up with NewFuryMedia, Demise of The Crown is excited to premiere their new music video ‘Sparks Fly’ HERE.

Demise of The Crown‘s music, written by guitarist Manuel Iradian and vocalist Darren Beadman, uses standard pop music songwriting skills to hook listeners into their irresistible and melodic metal sound. Iradian writes all the music, then hands it off to Kevin “Kevy Metal” to dress up each song with his high-speed, galloping rhythms, finally, Beadman crafts the anthemic lyrics rousing crowds to chant along with an anarchistic frenzy. Each song is rooted in all basic human emotions; anger, lust, depression, happiness, death, and revenge.

Each member has spent their time paying dues in the Montreal metal scene and they have banded together with the same goal and vision of a band determined to shake the foundation of power metal. The current lineup of Beadman (vocals), Iradian (guitars), Kevin Alexander (drums), Simon Doiron (bass) and Vince Doiron (guitar) has been going strong over the years playing a plethora of gigs in their area and releasing their debut self-titled record in 2016.

Influenced by headliners like Nevermore, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Pantera, and Faith No More, the band is working their way up the royal bloodline to cause chaos right alongside their heroes.

Demise of The Crown‘s new album “Life In The City” is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

“The track kicks into high gear right away with some intense riffing before quickly transitioning into a more melodic and calming verse which has a nice contrast to the heaviness of the rest of the song. Fast and heavy, yet harmonic and well-composed, “Dying Heat” is sure to get the crowd simultaneously moshing and singing along.” – GearGods

“This is a banger. Let’s get that clear from the start. Demise of the Crown delivering a god-damn energetic and memorable metal album that really does walk the line between genius and madness. From keeping it fairly straight-forward and heavy with opener Dying Heat to the wild and hyper rock riffing and savage moments of the self titled finale. It’s a very enjoyable listen.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Life In The City”, Modern Meets Classic Metal “Canada’s DEMISE OF THE CROWN is a perfect combination of Modern and Classic European Metal, somehow they bridge the gap of decades of Metal to come up with a sound that any Metal fan will appreciate.” – Rock Reloaded Radio

“Everything about Life In The City builds on the foundations laid by the self-titled debut. So, whilst being clearly very much the same band, Life In The City becomes Demise of the Crown +…. Beadman truly has all the tools to become one of heavy metal’s key vocalists moving forward. An explosive mix of Ripper Owens, Russell Allen and Archon Angel‘s Zachary Stevens, there appears to be literally nothing in the world of heavy metal vocalising that lies beyond his impressive grasp… This really is a band on the up-and-up, and they deserve your patronage.” – Sentinel Daily

““Dying Heat,”kicks off proceedings with a battering ram of a riff. From there it works its way around, slowly slamming the breaks and getting into breakdown territory. As things go from there, the vocals come in and haunt the living daylights out of the listener. ” – The Median Man

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 3, 2020

For fans of Septicflesh, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, Behemoth, Watain, Dissection

Serene Dark Premiere Single ‘Trance of Disintegration’ via NoCleanSinging

New Album “Enantiodromia” Out July 17, 2020

Canada’s Serene Dark has a new album “Enantiodromia” coming out for Summer 2020, originally slated for a June 5th street date, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the band has slated a new release date for July 17th.

“Enantiodromia” (pronounced en-an-ti-o-dromia) is dark, entrancing, and orchestral while maintaining the key elements of death and black metal. Overall, the album explores the confrontation between the shadow aspect of the personality and the integration of it into the self to create wholeness.  Influenced by philosophy, stoicism, hermeticism, and the occult. The album, lyrically, is a journey towards individuation by the exploration of human darkness and transforming that pain into something tangible and meaningful. In essence- to lose one’s self entirely to reach perfection.

In anticipation of the album’s release, the band is unleashing it’s next single ‘Trance of Disintegration’, which is currently premiering via NoCleanSinging HERE.

The band adds:

“The aim of the song is to hit you right out of the gate with a lightning-fast drumroll into a heavy guitar chugging rhythm with choir and string ensemble orchestrations. The idea behind this was greatly inspired by “Progenies of the Great Apocalypse” by Dimmu Borgir.”

Under the name Endemise, the band released Far From The Light (2013) and Anathema (2016), but now with the new name, Serene Dark has made a refreshing start with elements of the previous band still lingering, but taking the songs and style to a new level on this record and experimented with various instruments and vocal styles. This album sets a new caliber and standard for Serene Dark.

“Enantiodromia” is recommended for fans of Septicflesh, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Rotting Christ.

“An epic, heavy and creative vibe to this album which I think would appeal to fans of mid period Dimmu Borgir, Insomnium, Abigail Williams, Fleshgod Apocalypse.” – Loud Stuff

“They produce an array of songs that have an incredible sound that are  magnificently orchestrated.” – Metal Temple

“Through Anathema Endemise demonstrates the ability to filter several European influences into a unique sound from a Canadian perspective.  It is a fine edition to the black metal catalogue of any connoisseur of these dark musical arts.” – Glacially Musical

“Endemise is yet another Canadian metal band that has managed to create something fucking awesome and special.” – The Dirty Room

“Black metal vocals, death metal riffs and hella lot of blastbeats. Endemise strikes with ‘Anathema’ and does so in an unrelenting manner. This extreme metal chaos will surely crush some norms settled upon by high culture tyrants.” – Lords of Metal

Oozing with rock n roll vibes, Junkowl is coming for ya out of Montreal, QC, Canada. A slick combination of stoner riffs, hardcore energy, and groovy bass, the band’s debut album “Making Out With My Death” is due out this Friday, June 5th.

Today, the 2019 “En Route To Heavy Montreal Champions” have teamed up with Bravewords for the exclusive full stream premiere of the album HERE.

The band comments:

“We’re really excited for this album to drop and for people to be able to listen to our music in a different way, and of course to have the opportunity to reach out to a larger audience. We just hope people have as much fun listening to this record as they do coming to our shows. That’s the goal anyway.”

As a whole, “Making Out With My Death” is a slow dark ride. Heavy riffs; big dirty bass lines, in your face drums and gut-wrenching screams telling tales of self-loathing, confusion, and intoxication. This is a solid album, something to enjoy with a few beers, smoke a joint, and bang your head off for 30 minutes.

About:

Heavy, sexy, and southern. Those are the best words to describe Montreal’s Junkowl.

Formed in 2017, their unique blend of groove metal, stoner, and hardcore is matched with high energy ‘in your face’ performances. A year earlier Jesse Frechette (vocals) met Dom Labrie (drums) and after a few jams they picked up Marco Larosa (guitar) and Samuel Matte (bass) and the rest is history. The writing process is a collaborative one, with melodies and vocals usually forming on the spot.

Moving through the underground music scene, Junkowl quickly made a name for themselves when they won the 2019 ‘En Route Vers Heavy Montreal’; a competition between nearly 200 bands, landing them a spot at that year’s edition of renowned metal festival Heavy Montreal.

On June 5th, 2020, they will release their debut album, “Making Out With My Death”, a 10 track record full of sultry and powerful songs about past regrets and self-destructive behaviour. It includes the band’s favourite “10,000 Vultures”, the first song Junkowl ever wrote, which was completed after the first jam together. Almost all the lyrics were freestyle during that jam.

With no sign of slowing down, Junkowl has more tunes in the works and pouring passion into their live performances and newly recorded tunes. Stay tuned for party animal blues; fat spliffs and heavy riffs.

“2019 Winners of En Route to Heavy Montreal”

“The dirty, fat Stoner Sludge Metal riff of “Snakecharmer” is one designed to be accompanied by a beer and the gut-wrenching roar of “blow your brains out, blow my brains out” that brings it to it to its unnatural conclusion will no doubt be chanted by audiences across all lands as the band hit the road.” – Metal Noise“Montreal hardcore rock n rollers Junkowl have released their new single ‘Quarantine Us All’, a slick combination of stoner riffs, hardcore energy, and groove metal. It’s ferocious and relentless from the offset, even when it veers out of hardcore territory and into the sludgier moments. It even has some technical moments, although they certainly borrow heavily from their influences (namely Every Time I Die and Cancer Bats) it is a banger in it’s own right, and given some time to breathe and develop I think this band could bring something monumental to the table.” – Backseat Mafia

““Quarantine Us All” – Montreal’s southern rock infused metallers JUNKOWL drop new venomous track” – Idioteq

“the group combines very heavy stoner riffs with the energy of punk rock and hardcore. A group to discover absolutely.” – Mad Breizh

“this Montreal band is a whole other thing. Junkowl deals in a slick combination of stoner riffs, hardcore energy, and groovy bass, which has been called ‘party animal blues’. Which makes their debut album “Making Out With My Death” coming June 5, such a curveball.” – Cashbox Canada

“they’ve made a name for themselves in the ol’ Heavy Metal City™ with their energetic performances. And you know they have what it takes, since they won this year’s En Route Vers Heavy and literally earned their spot to perform. So technically speaking, this is gonna be an award-winning performance!” – Forget The Box (Heavy Montreal 2019 preview)

“I had the pleasure of being a judge at En Route Vers Heavy and these guys were my number one choice. I am so happy they won and got to follow their dream. They fucking destroyed.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 1, 2020

For fans of Whitechapel, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Strapping Young Lad

Seattle Progressive Death Metal DRAEMORA Premiere Single “Guilt” via GhostCultMag

Debut EP “Awakening” Out June 26th via Ultra Nast Records

Relatively new to the Seattle metal scene, Draemora is comprised of seasoned musicians who, despite COVID-19 slowing their debut, are ready to show the nation and the world their EP “Awakening” on June 26, 2020, via Ultra Nast Records.

The EP, lyrically, is about battling with drugs and alcohol, and the long journey out of that hell. Heavy, prodigious and heartfelt, vocalist/guitarist Terry Jenkins notes his personal attachments to the lyrics he writes:

“The lyrics come right out of the pages of my life, the things I went through, and how I got through them. Music is a huge outlet for me to dump the good times, bad times, and everything else in between. The majority of the lyrics are a culmination of direct excerpts from letters, poems, and life experiences from the period between May 2018 and August 2019. It was a very intense time in my life.”

Today, the band is excited to present their next single ‘Guilt’. The track starts off with vocals and a guitar, but quickly changes gears and enters areas that can be compared to “Alien”-era Strapping Young Lad moments. It’s very powerful and intense.

The band elaborates more:

“The lyrics are loosely about how hard we all struggle to keep up appearances to people we are friends and acquaintances with while we are churning inside from fear that if we were to tell them what we really felt, or how we viewed sociological constructs and political stances that they would discard us as a friend. Feeling like your wrong is a common feeling in society these days.  Social media is great as it has in some ways kept us all closer to each other, but in a lot of ways, it has destroyed some of our ability to tolerate our fellow humans on the earth that may not agree with us, as we can just delete them and block their opinion quite literally from our life.  The message of the song is that you should not feel guilty for disagreeing with another person, just make sure you aren’t perpetuating your own pain by being intolerant of other’s views as well.”

Recommended for fans of Strapping Young Lad, Whitechapel, and Nevermore; the single “Guilt” is available via its premiere on GhostCultMag HERE.

Dramora‘s first single is available ‘Home’ HERE.

About:

Draemora was formed in November 2019 in the Seattle, USA area by Terry Jenkins (vocals/guitar) after his separation from his previous band Odyssian. Seeing it as an opportunity to take a chance and try something different, he wrote a handful of songs with lyrics and demoed them out at his house. These demos attracted the attention of soon to be bandmate, ex-Jesus Wears Armani drummer Jared Conelie and ex-Odyssian vocalist Taylor Wood.

After fleshing out the demos with their own personal touches on the songs, Jenkins found local guitar player Max Taylor and set out to record the 5 song EP “Awakening”.

The EP is nothing short of heavy, melodic metal infused with honest and heartfelt lyrics; This combination works perfectly with the band’s mission to evoke an intense emotional and spiritual experience that brings out the raw emotions that are suppressed all day in normal day to day lives.

“This EP lyrically is all about battles with drugs and alcohol and the long journey out of that hell.  I feel that it will connect with anyone who has ever had mental problems, family problems, or experienced relationships falling apart. I didn’t want to come across as disingenuous, or contrived and wrote about things that I really went through and put my life and my problems out there for anyone to interact with as they wish. I think this recording is intense and beautiful.  It’s angry and sad and uplifting and I think is a reflection of a human living in modern-day society.” says Jenkins.

With a slight pause in the band’s plans due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Draemora is already working away on a full-length album to follow and getting ready for when they can pummel crowds live with their heavy melodic brand of progressive death metal.

Their debut EP “Awakening” is due out June 26, 2020 via Ultra Nast Records and will be available on all major digital platforms.

Loud and crushing, Saints of Death has been evolving over the years and they are looking forward to what the future has in store for them, they say about the new single:

“The single is about the problems we all face day to day. It’s about the struggles we deal with within our own minds. Sometimes you become your own worst enemy, self-sabotage, or doubt yourself. The struggles with mental health we all deal with in different ways and this song is about finding repentance amongst the dark.”

About:

Originally starting out as a Motorhead tribute band, Vancouver, BC’s SAINTS of DEATH is a four-piece that has taken the reins to write original material with a double bassist attack and set themselves apart from the pack with their uniquely heavy sound of thrash, doom and hardcore metal.

Inspired by the Mexican folklore of Santa Muerte (Spanish for Holy Death), SAINTS of DEATH is fronted by vocalist and eight-string bassist Twan Holliday, a giant standing nearly 7’ foot tall who can also be recognized for his acting credits in some well-known Hollywood movies and pro wrestling (credits below). Holliday is joined by four string bassist Juan Helluva, guitarist Ashley Blue and Christopher James on drums to complete this ferocious line-up.

Taking their experiences from past bands (Snaggletooth, Strapping Young Lad, Farewell to Freeway, Tides of Honor & more), these veterans of the Vancouver debuted their self-titled EP in 2015 and hit the road on a series of follow up tours! Getting great reviews with both online sources as well as physical press, the band quickly climbed to the top of the Western Canadian metal scene.

Soon after making a name for themselves in their home country, SAINTS of DEATH embarked on its first international tour of Mexico during November 2018 and has since returned two more times to play multiple festivals with acts such as Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), ELO, Dave Evans (Ex – ACDC), Neil Turbin (Ex – Anthrax) and many more successful acts.

After a short hiatus and a replenished new line up, SAINTS of DEATH recorded their first full-length album (2nd release) entitled “Ascend To The Throne” set for release on July 10th, 2020 via HeadRattle Productions.

The band adds:

“This album has been a long time coming, and we cannot wait to get it into the ears of our fans. After dealing with line up issues for a few years solid, we finally have a solid line up and are back to kicking ass. The current line up has been together since 2018 and we have really gelled as friends and as band members. Naturally, with this kind of chemistry going on, it was finally time to record a new album.

Like the first EP, there is diversity between each song, allowing each of them to stand out as hard-hitting singles. There is also the consistency that allows the songs to come together as a great album. We talk about important topics such as the trials of society, corruption and corporate greed, mental health as well as a few other topics on this album. We put a lot of hard work and passion crafting this album and making it what it is and we cannot wait to show the world!”

As soon as the COVID pandemic resolves and concert life can return to normal, expect SAINTS of DEATH to set the bar high with a live behemoth of ampage, theatrics backed by a custom light show, and pushing forward to take on the biggest stages and crowds to win over fans who enjoy headbanging to such bands as Motorhead, Lamb of God, Pantera, DevilDriver.

Fun Fact: Besides being a musician vocalist/bassist Twan Holliday has acting credits for movies American Mary (2012), The Devils Ground (2009) w/ Darryl Hanna, Stan Helsing (2009) (Leslie Neielson’s last movie), Catwoman (2004) w/ Halle Barry, Psych (TV Show) plus has done stunts on Super Natural (TV Show) and Pathfinder (2007). Twan was also a pro-hard-core wrestler of 10 years and was on TV every Saturday at 1 pm on KVOS TV12 (Bellingham, WA) plus was asked to train for WWE.

Dynamic Duo Doom ‘An Blue are back with another lively music video, this time inviting collaborators to make the track “Wicked Serotonin” with vocals and bass. The recording and production on the video have taken over a year and they are pumped to finally be dropping it!

On this track, Lee Whiskey (guitar) and Jimmy Antle (drums) are joined by long time collaborators Dan Matheson on bass and Jesse James Dimitri belting it out on the mic formulating a familiar groovy song but yet, still miles aways from previous work done with others. Always driving to push the limits of themselves, Doom An’ Blue has this to say about the upcoming song:

“This may be the 2nd or 3rd song we ever wrote. Everything came together extremely easy, like too easy! Wicked Serotonin has always been the song we needed to practice the least because it was ingrained in our thick skulls from day one. The idea behind the video was a collaboration between us, Jesse, Dan, and Cintia. We wanted it to follow the last video and be a continuation of the story/our journey and as well, tell its own story. On the day we shot it, the concept was still quite vague but came together really fast the more we got shooting. The concept is roughly Lee and I (Jimmy), meeting with 2 strangers, all coming from a shitty place, and turning it around. Other aspects of the video set up the premise for the next single/video!”

With a well received first single, ‘Two-Bit Son of a Bitch’ (2019) under their belts, Doom ‘An Blue brings forth a truly eclectic blend of all rock styles that are further expanded with the individual styles of the many musicians they collaborate with.

“Wicked Serotonin” with guest vocals by Jesse James Dimitri and bass from Dan Matheson can be viewed via its premiere on Metal-Rules.com HERE.

Soon after a road trip to see Clutch in Schaghticoke, NY, without a note prepared to rehearse, the two walked into Cite 2000. A few hours later, they were left with countless ideas and even more questions.

What just happened?

What are we to do now?

What year is this?

After many a sundown accompanied by way more cold-to-room temperature adult beverages, 2 was agreed on as the lucky number. Jimmy and Lee conspired that the sounds, shapes, and possibilities of the project was to be left as limitless as the music which they would spawn, therefore inviting collaborators in the form of as many or as few guests from all ends of the musical universe as felt… juuuust right for each composition.

Montreal, QC – May 14, 2020

For fans of Judas Priest, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, Iron Maiden

Rockshots Records: Ecuador’s BLACK SUN Release Single ‘Resist’ ft. Netta Laurenne (Smackbound)

New EP “Silent Enemy” Out September 4th, Pre-Order Available

EP guests include members from Sonata Arctica, Lordi, Battle Beast,
Thunderstone, Smackbound, Omnium Gatherum, Wintersun, Damnation Plan,
Arion, Firewind, Ensiferum, Norther, JF Aguirre Project

Well known in their home country of Ecuador and South America for supporting bands like Judas Priest, Kreator, Firewind (Immortals Tour 2018), Edguy, UDO, and more. Heavy metal trio Black Sun will be releasing their new EP “Silent Enemy” on September 4, 2020, via Rockshots Records. The EP follows the band’s three previous albums “The Pupetteer” (2017), “Dance of Elders” (2010), and “Tyrant From a Foreign Land” (2015).

During the production of Black Sun‘s new material, the band parted ways with their longtime lead singer. Under the guidance of the EP’s producer Nino Laurenne (Emma Winner – Finnish Grammy, Hevisaurus, Amorphis, The Rasmus), Black Sun found ways to complete the EP with guest singers on all the tracks. Guests include Finnish metal legends and talents like Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Lordi, Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Elias Viljanen (Sonata Arctica ), Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), Jukka Pelkonen (Omnium Gatherum), Asim Searah (Wintersun/Damnation Plan), Topias Kupiainen (Arion), Henning Basse (Firewind), Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum / Norther) and JF Aguirre (JF Aguirre Project). All come together to create a powerful and catchy metal hymn.

The band adds:

“This EP is a new beginning for Black Sun, the tracks were written during the touring period for the last album. However, during the production and recording sessions, the former singer was removed from the band. Consequently, the songs changed, the band had more flexibility and freedom on where to take these songs. Hence, the featuring of many different singers is what makes this EP unique. We can’t tell you exactly what will happen next, but we can guarantee this is only the beginning of an exciting new chapter, a rebirth that will bring much more music soon enough.”

Today, the band is sharing their second single ‘Resist’ featuring guest vocals from Smackbound’s Netta Laurenne.

The band comments:

“A powerful upbeat song with strong female vocals by Netta Laurenne that portray the emotion and the new sound of the band. The meaning of the song is directly related to the title. Resist and push through any situation or obstacle in your way.”

The EP “Silent Enemy” is a concept release of seven tracks, three of them being special music scores (intro, interlude, outro). The EP will also have a special short-film based on its storyline out on its release day that was written by Black Sun and Topias Kupiainen.

The EP was recorded at Hi NoiZ Studios and Sonic Pump Studios, mixed by Jens Bogren (tracks 2 and 3) and Nino Laurenne (tracks 1,4-7) and mastered by Svante Forsbäck.

About:

Since the band’s creation in 2002, “Silent Enemy” is their first release without a lead vocalist to follow their three previous full-lengths. Their 2005 debut release “Tyrant From a Foreign Land” hit the Top 25 best-selling albums in their home country that year. Following that success, Black Sun toured the country while becoming a local sensation.

For their sophomore release “Dance of Elders”, the band decided to cross the Atlantic in 2007 and record in Hamburg, Germany at High Gain Records, a studio owned by Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray at the time. The album was produced by Arne Lackenmacher and Drik Schlächter. After recording the album, the band underwent several lineup changes, which led to the delay of its release until 2010. During this time and to support the second album, the band formed an interim lineup with past members and techs until a final lineup was settled with Santiago Salem (bass) joining the band. Their 2017 album, “The Puppeteer”, was recorded in Helsinki, Finland with a producing team of Timo Tolkki, Santtu Lehtiniemi, and Nino Laurenne at Sonic Pump Studios along with mixing done by Miko Karmila and mastering by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. The release witnessed great success with singles ‘Robert The Doll‘ featured on the New Metal Tracks editorial by Spotify along with winning an MBN (MIS BANDAS NACIONALES) Ecuador Award for Best Music Video and ‘Let Me Be’ landing a top 40 spot (#36) on the Ecuadorian music charts (radio + streams).

Canadian thrash legends Anonymus will be releasing their 12th album “La Bestia” on June 12th via label Bam&co Heavy. Known for their discography of both French and English releases, “La Bestia” is their first full length that will be completely in Spanish. You may be asking why a Spanish album? Well since 3/4 of the band speaks Spanish. Drummer Carlos Araya is Chilean born, and Oscar (Lead Vocals and Bass) and Dan Souto (Guitars and Backing Vocals) are sons of Spanish immigrants it was time to make one.

The album’s tracks were produced mainly by guitarist Jef Fortin as well as Colin Richardson who also produced 1999’s ‘Instinct’ and Jean-Francois Dagenais (Kataklysm) who produced 2006’s ‘Chapter Chaos Begins’. The album also features the bilingual song “Violencia Versus Violence” with the participation of Carlos Maldos of Lethal Creation (MX) and Arno Dhenain Le Bourhis of Black Bomb A (FR) along with a second bilingual track “Tierra” with Marco Calliari singing in Italian.

Anonymus explains their thoughts on the release:

“We always try to surpass ourselves as musicians and we always try to write the best songs we can. It’s important to be loyal to what we do but we listen to the new bands and how the metal scene evolves. I think over the years we can feel an evolution in the band’s sound.”

Today, the band unveils their music video for their second single“Terremoto” produced by Kataklysm‘s Jef Dagenais.

The band comments about the track:

“This one is a comparison between an earthquake and a man who deals with his problems like a shaking bull! The lyrics came with the title so it started from there. Sometimes a discussion doesn’t bring the solution, so you have to shake things up. Nothing more to say!”

Watch the video for “Terremoto” via its premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

With over 2.5 million streams on Spotify, Anonymus is showing no signs of slowing down. Fans of thrash metal standbys such as Slayer and Testament will no doubt be intrigued by this new offering.

About:

Anonymus is a Canadian thrash metal band that explodes on stage with each presence, that pulls you in with its passion and that yells at you with corrosive and violent texts that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Since their first release in 1994, Anonymus has made its mark on the Quebec music scene. From the beginning, the group has been well received while demonstrating its brutal sound and technique that has continually evolved over the years. Oscar Souto (vocals, bass) Daniel Souto (guitar, vocals) Carlos Araya (drums), Jef Fortin (guitar since 2006) and Marco Calliari (vocals, guitar from 1994 to 2006) have since widely traveled the roads of their country, participated in the deprivation of Mononc’Serge and continue today to ignite stages everywhere they go. These veterans of the metal scene continue to proudly carry the torch after 20 years of chaos and barbaric music.

Forever hungry for metal, everyone in Anonymus brings ideas to the table. Sometimes it is a whole song or just the beginnings of one, yet together the band works to create a full thrashy anthem from the pieces, working on it until it is complete. The music always comes first, and when the ambiance is formulated, the lyrics, which come from a personal place and from current events, can be added.

Unstoppable and indestructible, inspired by bands like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax; Anonymus is nothing short of the powerful, aggressive and technical thrash metal that they have been refining for decades exemplified on their impressive discography of both French and English releases, which includes: “Ni vu, ni connu” (1994); Stress (1996); Instinct (1999); Daemonium (2002); Academie du Massacre (2003); Chapter Chaos Begins (2006); Musique Barbare (2008); État Brute (2011); Envers et contre tous (2015); P.O.M.M.E (2017); Sacrifices (2019); and their first ever Spanish album La Bestia (2020) due out June 12 via label Bam&co Heavy.

Today, Anonymus does not need a presentation. This institution of the Quebec metal industry has been offering for twenty-six years, a passion for dark notes and unrivaled power. The offer is still valid. With more than 1500 career shows under their belt, Anonymus is completely in their element when performing in front of fans, they offer only their absolute best ensuring the crowd is moving. Having shared the stage with metal great such as Anthrax, Cannibal Corpse, and Kataklysm at festivals such as Heavy Montreal, Montebello, and through international tours, they are no strangers to a wild show.

ANONYMUS FOLLOWS ITS PATH, AGAINST ALL ODDS!

Held In Secret are five hardworking individuals who spend every day creating the heaviest and djentiest listening experience known to the Ottawa metal scene. On Friday, May 29th, 2020, they will release their sophomore effort “Nomads” and before it officially drops, the band is sharing the EP’s exclusive full stream via V13.net HERE.

“Nomads”
is, according to the band, an improvement from their debut EP. “Nomads” is a concept release with highly relatable subjects, set to clean and heavy metalcore. Moving away from “repetitive early 2010’s metalcore”, Held In Secret diverges into a more accessible sound, interesting to a broader public, incorporating choirs and piano, all while retaining all of the heaviness of the first EP. It also features guest vocals from Garrett Russell of Silent Planet on the title track.

The band comments on the release:

“‘Nomads’ is an EP that talks about what we believe to be five of the biggest problems in today’s society, Abuse, Racism, Depression, Pollution, Addiction. Five subjects to make the mood go dry at Thanksgiving dinner, but five incredibly important issues that we need to talk about. In each of these songs, you can find a world of emotion twirling into abstractness, the sheer heaviness of the music mixed with the intensity of the lyrics makes for a completely immersive experience. This EP is about the power we have if we stick together. Together, we can stand against abusive households, and improve the system that these poor beaten kids get thrown into. Together we can put an end to hate crimes and racism of all kinds and nature. Together we can beat this global depression, and just by caring a little bit more about one another. Together we can stop putting so much god damn plastic into our oceans. Together we can stand a chance against our opponent in this battle against the opioid crisis. Together we can fight this oppressive system and give a fair chance to all to reach for the stars and not be limited by social constructs such as “Social Class” and prejudice.
Never One Left Behind
Nomads”

Recommended for fans of Silent Planet, Volumes, and Architects, “Nomads” will be available on all digital platforms including Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon.

Track Listing:
1. Ties (4:31)
2. Nomads (feat. Garrett Russell) (3:31)
3. Downcast (3:55)
4. Gaia (3:31)
5. Static (3:44)

About:
Held In Secret was impulsively founded in January of 2016 by Matt J. Zephyr (vocals) and David Lamothe (lead guitar) with the explicit goal of taking over the world. Since then, they have been joined by a great family of like-minded people with the addition of William Gunn (bass), Tommy Lemieux (drums) and Joey Sollazzo (rhythm guitar).

These five individuals work hard every day to create the heaviest and Djentiest listening experience known to the Ottawa metal scene. Wanting the listeners to feel like they are understood, the lyrics from Held In Secret paint pictures of trauma, despair, and hope.

On December 7th, 2018, Held In Secret released their debut EP “Dawnbreaker” (Produced by Dark Moon Productions). After a year of performances, our protagonists came together in the studio once again to produce their sophomore effort called “Nomads” set for release on May 29, 2020.

Taking pride in what they do, Held in Secret ensures a wild ride for their audience as Zephyr climbs structures while scream-rapping extra multisyllabic lines; Lamothe, Gunn, and Sollazzo sing backup while shredding, jumping around and headbanging; often jumping off stage to get in the pit. The intense stage presence continues with Lemieux banging it out, full throttle behind the kit.

Held In Secret is just warming up, they have more live shows planned, as well as more music has been written ready to follow “Nomads”. Keep an ear out!

“Featuring tight, groovy riffage and a bright melodic backdrop, “Nomads” is a great introduction to what Held In Secret are doing. With prominent shows already played with the likes of Blind Witness, Held In Secret’s sophomore EP is bound to be a success.” – New Fury Media

“Taking their cues from a more modern sound of metalcore, one that incorporates a lot of technical guitars and melody, Held in Secret come out swinging with Ties. A meaty and explosive start, the aggressive percussion doesn’t overpower the more heartfelt chorus… A hell of an EP and a strong contender for the best of the year.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Nomads features five tight tracks of distorted ingenuity and blood-curdling screams from frontman Matt Zephyr with the EP also featuring guest vocals from Silent Planet’s Garrett Russell.” – V13.net

“Listeners who crave a heavy sound rooted in metalcore and djent that is laced with angst will feel like they have an empathetic friend with a familiar voice… These guys promise an energy filled live show, full of shredding, headbanging, and jumping off stage into the pit . – The Independent Voice

“Held In Secret brings both aggressive vocals, cleans for choruses (mostly), melodic riffage and punishing downbeat drums.” – Uber Rock

Edmonton’s OMNIARCH Premiere Music Video ‘Pathfinder’ via TheCirclePit

Self-Titled Album Out Now!

Unleashing their debut self-titled album earlier this May, Edmonton progressive death metallers Omniarch are sharing with fans their new music video for the track ‘Pathfinder’ via its premiere on TheCirclePit‘s YouTube channel HERE.

The band adds:

“This song is about feeling what you love, doing what you love, and being who you truly are.”

A unique journey through history, mythology, imagination, and learning through introspection and reflection. Omniarch‘s seven-track full length is a composite of progressive and technical death metal, played by five seasoned musicians that bring an eclectic set of skills to the band. The Canadian quintet is recommended for anyone with an interest in melodic, technical, relentless death metal, especially fans of The Black Dahlia Murder, The Absence, and Arsis.

Commenting on the album, the band had this to say:

“We hope fans of aggressive, progressive, and technical metal music will enjoy this one. We feel it’s something new, but still within the realms of what we know and love. This debut album is our full, headlining set, and plays great in its track listing order. We are already working on an EP of all 7 string songs to follow, as well as working on another EP more indicative of our current sound/tuning. We released what we had up until now, and pride ourselves on our fecundity as a band. We have plenty of music coming down the pipe.”

About:
Omniarch was formed from the ashes of two former bands, Netherward and This is War. Morgan Lambert (guitar), Mason Wilson (guitar), Jon Hofmann (bass), Mackenzie LaHaye (vocals), and  Henry Giesbrecht (drums) who had played gigs together in separate bands, had always entertained the idea of joining forces. Eventually, conditions allowed for the amalgamation of the two bands into a new and wholly different alloy of metal and formed the beginning of Omniarch.

Giesbrecht, the original drummer, added a new dynamic to the band with his fresh approach to metal song structures. Eventually, Giesbrecht moved on and made way for Sean Higgins to step in and make his own indelible mark on the band with his nuanced sense of rhythm and pace. The disparate and yet congruous influences have come together to showcase a truly unique and exciting band, full of opportunity.

Each Omniarch song starts with a collaboration between Wilson and Lambert to determine the riffs, which are then brought to the rhythm section where they are morphed into a  cohesive idea that is splattered with aggressive technical death metal vocals with themes surrounding history, fantasy/science fiction, and mythology.

Omniarch is just getting started, as of spring 2020 they have a fresh self-titled release out on May My 8th with plenty more music coming down the pipe. Watch out for them on the live circuit and take your chance to witness a compelling live show that challenges boundaries.

– 30 –

“Omniarch come our way from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and they don’t come timidly. Their formulation of technical and progressive death metal absolutely blazes with exuberant spirit, technical virtuosity, and turbocharged energy, while incorporating memorable melodic and atmospheric accents. It’s the kind of music that will likely find welcome among fans of such bands as Revocation, Inferi, and The Black Dahlia Murder. ” – No Clean Singing

“Fire and fury with a really strong technical edge, Omniarch live and breathe their metal, choking all who share the same space…. Ursa Major is one hell of a closer. The drums and guitars taking the mood down to dark places, the vocals the sound of hellish noise in the shadows. Then out of the blue the band throw out an absolute beast of a guitar solo. It’s momentously heavy stuff.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Ohn Cairn is brutal, death metal with shredding solos, and some cool melodic moments!” – Ghost Cult Mag

“The Canadian crew combines a technical and melodic sound not many newer bands achieve these days and it’s rather impressive.” – Technical Music Review

“Omniarch have furnished us all with an excellent record.” – Wicked Metal Review

“an ambitious Melodic Death Metal act that are clearly reaching for an individual sound on their self-titled debut.” – The Metal Crypt
