Streaming Now! Prog Fusion Visionaries LUFEH’s New Album “Overwhelmed”

Progressive rock collective LUFEH will release their highly anticipated sophomore album “Overwhelmed” on May 29th, marking a major new chapter for the band as they continue to evolve their sophisticated fusion of prog rock, metal, jazz, and Brazilian musical influences. Fans will get their first chance to hear the full record a day early with an exclusive album stream premiere on TheProgSpace at https://theprogspace.com/lufeh-overwhelmed-album-premiere/

The release follows a powerful run of singles that have steadily revealed the album’s musical depth and emotional range. “He Commands the Sun and the Stars”, the first single, is a rhythmically complex yet instantly memorable track that sets the tone for the album’s direction.
“Overwhelmed”, the cinematic title track featuring a standout violin performance from new featured vocalist Ginny Luke. “Double Dip”, a time‑shifting prog fusion piece highlighted by the exotic Bulbul Tarang. “War of Emotions”, the band’s heaviest single to date, explores the internal battles of the self.

Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and produced by keyboardist Gera Penna, “Overwhelmed” represents LUFEH’s most refined and expressive work to date. While the band’s debut “Luggage Falling Down” leaned heavily into technicality, the new album strikes a deliberate balance: intricate musicianship paired with catchy, memorable vocal melodies designed to stay with listeners long after the songs end.

“We still have that elaborate, complicated playing, but this time every song has vocal parts and choruses that are easy to remember and sing along to. It’s complicated music that’s also catchy,” s
ays band founder and drummer Lufeh Batera.

The album also marks the arrival of Ginny Luke as LUFEH’s new featured vocalist and electric violinist. Known for her work with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, and more, she brings a dynamic voice and violin performances that add a new dimension to the band’s sound.

Though Lufeh Batera resides in Los Angeles and the rest of the band is based in São Paulo, Brazil, the group crafted nearly 70% of the album online, exchanging ideas daily and refining arrangements collaboratively. Longtime musical partners Deio Tambasco (guitar) and Duca Tambasco (bass) bring decades of chemistry, having played with Lufeh since the early ’90s.

The band’s creative process remains deeply collective, something Batera says defines their identity:

“Our creative process is like a drawing that passes from hand to hand. Everyone adds their own stroke until it has the right colors and depth.”

Across its eight tracks, “Overwhelmed” explores themes of pressure, renewal, duality, longing, and self‑reflection. From the rock‑opera drama of “Feels Like I’m a Ghost” to the uplifting message of “Breathe” and the spiritual catharsis of “End of the Tunnel,” the album blends technical mastery with emotional storytelling.

With influences ranging from Dream Theater and Rush to Vola, Tool, and Haken, LUFEH’s new album stands as their most cohesive and expressive work yet. It’s a record built for both musicians and melody‑seekers, complex, modern, refined, and deeply human.

About:

LUFEH is a progressive rock/metal band blending technical precision with emotional depth and genre‑bending influences. Formed by drummer Lufeh after a long hiatus from music, the band now features guitarist Deio Tambasco, bassist Duca Tambasco, keyboardist/producer Gera Penna, and vocalist/violinist Ginny Luke. Their sound draws inspiration from Dream Theater, Rush, Vola, Tool, Haken, and Brazilian musical traditions.

– 30 –

“What grabbed me most on the album, besides the deeply personal approach to songwriting, was the level of talent the band has. We all know that talent isn’t the measuring stick to success, but it never hurts. This band has plenty, but they don’t let it overtake their sound. This was a feel good album with plenty of substance.” – Metal Temple (2026 – Overwhelmed)

“My take on the album: I do like that Lufeh do things their own way. For me this is an exceptional album with a fresh take on traditional metal. Ginny is a gem on vocals and the use of instruments is damn good. A flawless album that deserve nothing less than the perfect 10.” – Project Metal Music

“If their debut consisted of showing their instrumental muscles, their next album Overwhelmed (released May 29) seems to focus on purely melodic choruses. It has the complexity of Haken or Rush, but with choruses that really stick in your head.” – Radio Papy Jeff (2026 – Overwhelmed)

“Lufeh has built a sound that sits at the intersection of three demanding disciplines — Progressive Rock’s structural ambition, Progressive Metal’s physical weight, and Jazz-Fusion’s harmonic and rhythmic sophistication — and has managed to do so without reducing any of the three to background texture. The integration of Ginny Luke‘s violin gives the ensemble a tonal signature that is genuinely distinctive and provides the record with some of its most memorable moments. The dual vocal format, consistently well-deployed, expands the expressive range of the material in ways that a single voice simply could not replicate. With a renewed lineup and a track record of progressive evolution, Lufeh delivers here a disciplined, technically formidable body of work that will satisfy those who take their Heavy Prog seriously.” – Progressive Rock Journal

“Very soulful breaks.Like the dynamics. The drummer is very powerful and precise. Like Rush if they were a soul band.” – CFRU 93.3 FM – Planet Groove (Guelph, ON, Canada)

“With „Overwhelmed“ LUFEH are opening a new chapter – more emotional, melodic and at the same time more powerful than ever. The title track of their upcoming album combines progressive virtuosity with haunting storytelling and marks an impressive evolution – an intense foretaste of what happened on March 29th. May 2026 is coming.” – Metalogy (2026 – Overwhelmed)

“Heavy prog shines with the new single ‘He Commands the Sun and the Stars’ from LUFEH. Dream Theater and Shadow Gallery fans will find a lot to love here including a spotlight performance from featured vocalist and electric violinist Ginny Luke. Musically the band doesn’t disappoint with soaring keys, complex percussion, driving riffs, strolling bass lines…all at a high level, which is what is demanded when you enter the sacred space of progressive rock. Just as much a beautiful performance as it is a breathtaking adventure, this track raises expectations for the new album “Overwhelmed” which can’t get here fast enough on May 29th. Catch LUFEH on your Home for the Best New Rock… W-J-O-EEEE” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll (2026 – Overwhelmed)

“Progressive hard rock’s LUFEH have just released another powerful new single, ‘OVERWHELMED (feat. Ginny Luke)’. The title track from their forthcoming album slated for a May 29th launch, this one is also like the prior single (‘He Commands the Sun and the Stars’), a masterclass of modern prog metal. Hooks that sink deep, superb performances by the band and outstanding songwriting are all on display. The anticipation for the new album is swelling with each single and based on what we’ve heard so far, we’re ready for an exceptional experience. Catch Lufeh on your Home for the Best New Rock…W-J-O-EEEE” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll (2026 – Overwhelmed)

“With Overwhelmed, LUFEH have crafted a progressive rock album that is mature without feeling restrained, technical without becoming cold, and melodic without sacrificing ambition. It is the sound of a band refining its identity while opening itself to greater emotional risk. The result is a record that feels both grand and personal, the kind of album that rewards close listening while still offering choruses, hooks, and moments of immediate impact. LUFEH are not simply flexing their instrumental muscles here. They are building songs that understand what it means to carry too much, to lose sight of the surface, and to keep reaching anyway. ‘Overwhelmed‘ may be born from pressure, but its greatest achievement is the way it turns that pressure into motion, melody, and release.” – Infrared Magazine”

Great prog album, love Feels Like I’m A Ghost song” – The Chill dude on the Couch

LUFEH Unleashes Their Heavy Prog Fusion “War of Emotions” From Sophomore Album “Overwhelmed” Out May 2026

Progressive rock collective LUFEH return with their most intense and emotionally charged release yet, “War of Emotions,” the fourth single from their upcoming album “Overwhelmed,” due out May 29th. Following the success of their recent singles “Double Dip,” the album’s title track “Overwhelmed,” and the soaring first single “He Commands the Sun and the Stars,” this new offering dives deep into the psychological battlefield within.

A dramatic fusion of LUFEH’s sophisticated prog sensibilities and a heavier, metal‑leaning edge, “War of Emotions” stands out as one of the band’s most cathartic tracks to date. Musically, the single blends heavier guitar tones with LUFEH’s signature progressive arrangements, anchored by expressive keyboards and soaring vocal lines. Lyrically, it explores the clash between truth and illusion, the struggle of confronting one’s own reflection, and the emotional turbulence of personal transformation.
It stands as one of the album’s most dramatic and cathartic moments.

“This song is about an internal war, the moment when truth and illusion blur, and you realize your biggest battle is with your own reflection. It’s about finally facing yourself so you can move toward the light,” says drummer and band founder Lufeh Batera.

With “Overwhelmed,” LUFEH intentionally evolved from the more technical, instrumental focus of their debut “Luggage Falling Down.” This time, the band built every track around memorable vocal melodies, sing‑along choruses, and emotional clarity, without sacrificing their trademark rhythmic complexity.

“We wanted complicated music that’s also catchy. All eight songs have strong vocal parts and choruses that stick with you. I think fans will really connect with that balance,”
 explains Batera.

The album also marks a major sonic expansion with the addition of Ginny Luke, internationally recognized electric violinist and vocalist known for her work with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and more. Her violin appears on three tracks, adding a dramatic new dimension to LUFEH’s sound.

LUFEH’s core members, Lufeh Batera, guitarist Deio Tambasco, and bassist Duca Tambasco, share a musical bond spanning more than 30 years, dating back to their early days in Anno Domini. Their long‑standing chemistry fuels the band’s collaborative writing process, even as Lufeh works from Los Angeles and the rest of the band from São Paulo.

Roughly 70% of the new album was created online, with ideas exchanged daily across continents. Keyboardist and producer Gera Penna shaped the album’s sonic architecture, while lyricist Dennis Atlas crafted nearly all of the album’s thematic narrative.

“Overwhelmed” was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, the historic studio home to iconic albums by Prince, Van Halen, The Doors, and countless others. The result is LUFEH’s most mature, emotionally resonant, and musically refined work to date.

The album’s artwork reflects its emotional weight: a submerged silhouette suspended underwater, caught between heaviness and hope, mirroring the album’s balance of intensity and release.

Recommended for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, Haken, Sleep Token, and Tool, LUFEH‘s new album “Overwhelmed” marks a bold new era, one defined by melody, maturity, and a renewed creative spark.

“From the riff heavy opener Find My Way to the latest single ‘My World’ and the sharp riffs of closing track The Edge’, these are 20-minute epics condensed into welcome four-minute compositions. It’s an interesting stance for any progressive band but Lufeh have caught it right on the nail. This is an album full of cleverness and maturity. “Luggage Falling Down will be a pleasant surprise for those who enjoy their prog on the heavy side, with occasional flourishes of metal, plenty of instrumental workouts, short song formats and a strong foundation in jazz. “In addition to brevity, there is Luggage Falling Down nothing wrong. Fantastic prog metal, crisply short songs that are still varied. LUFEH Reveal Exotic, Time‑Shifting New Prog Single “Double Dip” From Sophomore Album “Overwhelmed” Out May 2026

Progressive rock visionaries LUFEH continue their momentum toward the release of their highly anticipated new album, “Overwhelmed,” with the announcement of their third single, “Double Dip.” The track follows the full-length’s soaring title single, “Overwhelmed,” and the explosive first release, “He Commands the Sun and the Stars.” The full album will arrive on May 29th, 2026.

The album’s first two singles have already set the tone for LUFEH’s new chapter, “He Commands the Sun and the Stars”, a rhythmically complex, chorus‑driven prog anthem exploring power, worship, and doubt. “Overwhelmed”, the emotional title track featuring Ginny Luke’s haunting violin, captures the suffocating pace of modern life and the need to slow down before losing control. “Double Dip” now arrives as the next piece of the puzzle, an intricate, exotic, and thematically rich track that further reveals the album’s depth.

Showcasing LUFEH’s signature blend of sophisticated, progressive, refined, modern, and intriguing musicianship while pushing their sound into bold new territory, “Double Dip” is built on a striking interplay between 6/8 and 4/4 time signatures. The song highlights the band’s rhythmic daring and melodic accessibility, an intentional evolution from their previous record, “Luggage Falling Down.”

One of the track’s standout features is the use of the Bulbul Tarang, an exotic string instrument that immediately sets the tone for the song’s theme of duality. Lyrically, “Double Dip” explores the tension of trying to “serve two masters,” capturing the emotional and spiritual conflict of living between opposing forces.

“This track has some really unique rhythmic complexity. We switch back and forth between 6/8 and 4/4, which might keep people guessing at first, but the result is amazing. The Bulbul Tarang in the intro gives it a completely different flavor. Lyrically, it’s about the impossibility of living in two worlds at once,” says founder and drummer Lufeh Batera.

“Overwhelmed” marks a major creative leap for the band. While their debut album leaned heavily into technical instrumental work, this sophomore record places a strong emphasis on memorable vocal melodies, layered harmonies, and sing‑along choruses, all while preserving the band’s trademark complexity.

The album also introduces LUFEH’s new featured vocalist and electric violinist Ginny Luke, whose powerhouse voice and dynamic violin performances appear on three tracks, including the title song. Her contributions bring a fresh dimension to the band’s sound.

Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and produced by keyboardist Gera Penna, “Overwhelmed” delivers eight meticulously crafted tracks that balance technical mastery with emotional depth.

LUFEH
’s lineup reflects a rare bond: most members have been playing together in various forms for over 30 years. Guitarist Deio Tambasco, who joined in 2025, reunites with longtime collaborators Batera and bassist Duca Tambasco, continuing a musical partnership that began in their early band Anno Domini. Despite living on different continents, Batera in Los Angeles and the rest of the band in São Paulo, the group wrote nearly 70% of the album remotely, exchanging ideas daily and refining each track collaboratively.

Recommended for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, Haken, Sleep Token, and Tool, LUFEH‘s new album “Overwhelmed” marks a bold new era, one defined by melody, maturity, and a renewed creative spark.

Prog Collective LUFEH Unveils Album Title Track “Overwhelmed” From New Album Out May 2026

Progressive rock collective LUFEH announces the release of their powerful new single “Overwhelmed,” the title track from their forthcoming album, arriving May 29th, 2026. The song follows the recently released first single, “He Commands the Sun and the Stars,” which introduced fans to the band’s evolved sound and the new creative chapter ahead.

Recorded at the iconic Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and produced by keyboardist Gera Penna, “Overwhelmed” represents LUFEH’s most melodic, emotionally charged, and musically refined work to date. This album fuses the band’s trademark progressive intricacy with a renewed focus on memorable vocal lines and dynamic, accessible arrangements.

Its title track, “Overwhelmed,” captures this evolution perfectly. Written by guitarist Deio Tambasco, the song opens with a haunting violin passage performed by LUFEH’s new featured vocalist and internationally acclaimed electric violinist Ginny Luke, setting the tone for a piece that leans boldly into vocal‑driven storytelling without sacrificing the band’s technical edge. Known for her work with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and others, Luke brings a commanding vocal presence and electrifying violin work to the album. Her violin performances also appear on“Feels Like I’m a Ghost” and “Live the New Today.”

“Ginny brought a whole new dimension to our sound. Her voice and violin elevated everything we wrote,” adds drummer and band founder Lufeh Batera.

Lyrically, “Overwhelmed” reflects the sensation of being mentally submerged, caught between pressure, fatigue, and the urgent need to pause and breathe. This emotional depth is echoed visually in the album’s artwork, which portrays a lone figure underwater reaching toward the light above the surface.

“It’s about reaching that point where you can’t keep running. Life gets heavy, but there’s always a light above the surface. This song represents that moment of stopping, breathing, and finding your way back,” says Batera.

The forthcoming album “Overwhelmed” also marks the return of guitarist Deio Tambasco, reuniting him with Lufeh Batera and bassist Duca Tambasco, continuing a musical partnership that began in 1993. Despite living on different continents, Batera in Los Angeles and the rest of the band in São Paulo, the group wrote nearly 70% of the album remotely, exchanging ideas daily and refining each track collaboratively.

While LUFEH’s 2020 debut “Luggage Falling Down” leaned heavily into technicality, “Overwhelmed” strikes a new balance of complex musicianship, catchy, sing‑along choruses, fusion, jazz, and Brazilian influences, and emotional storytelling. The result is a progressive rock album that is both intricate and accessible, offering fans a deeper connection to the band’s evolving sound.

Recommended for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, Haken, Sleep Token, and Tool, LUFEH‘s new album “Overwhelmed” marks a bold new era, one defined by melody, maturity, and a renewed creative spark.

– 30 –

“From the riff heavy opener Find My Way to the latest single ‘My World’ and the sharp riffs of closing track The Edge’, these are 20-minute epics condensed into welcome four-minute compositions. It’s an interesting stance for any progressive band but Lufeh have caught it right on the nail. This is an album full of cleverness and maturity. A joy to listen to, Luggage Falling Down’ provides opportunity to marvel at the quality and the playing. In a world which has lost its marbles, this album is a breath of fresh air. 8/10” – Powerplay Magazine UK (2020 – Luggage Falling Down)

“Luggage Falling Down will be a pleasant surprise for those who enjoy their prog on the heavy side, with occasional flourishes of metal, plenty of instrumental workouts, short song formats and a strong foundation in jazz. The eight songs are technical, energetic and always seeking a melodic hook.” – DPRP (2020 – Lugage Falling Down)

“In addition to brevity, there is Luggage Falling Down nothing wrong. Fantastic prog metal, crisply short songs that are still varied. Matching singing in the intersection between James LaBrie And Brendon Boyd as well as terrific guitar and drum inserts. Very entertaining and fun…. Luggage Falling Down a very entertaining record ahead of us. 9 /10 does that for me.” – Sound Magnet

“Anyone starting to get tired of all the cliché album titles and song titles? LUFEH are going their own way and I really like this album title ”Luggage Falling Down”!… I have to say the LUFEH guys have some moves of their own, which makes this album more interesting than most progressive metal albums. The RUSH vibes are not the most obvious ones, but the verse of ”Trial Of Escapade” clearly shows that these guys like the Canadian trio. There’s a smashing guitar solo from Dornellas in this one too.” – Melodic.net – (2020 Luggage Falling Down)

“A track from prog debutants Lufeh now, as I ‘Find My Way’ straight into being earwormed by their Prog metal goodness. Guitar solos that sound like they’ve been written by some of the hard rock greats, with plenty of atmospheric synths and across the board able musicianship means this one was a sure fire hit from the off!” – Uber Rock (2020 Luggage Falling Down)

“This is heavy prog with some strong elements” – Prog Archives (2020 Luggage Falling Down)

Prog Rock Visionaries LUFEH Announce New Album “Overwhelmed” Out May 2026

Streaming First Single “He Commands The Sun and The Stars”

Progressive rock outfit LUFEH returns with their most ambitious and emotionally charged work to date, “Overwhelmed,” the band’s long‑awaited new studio album, set for release on May 29, 2026. Leading the preview to the full-length is the explosive first single, “He Commands The Sun and The Stars,” a track that captures the band’s signature blend of technical mastery, soaring melodies, and cinematic storytelling.

Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, “Overwhelmed” marks a major evolution for LUFEH, musically, lyrically, and creatively. The album introduces the band’s new featured vocalist and electric violinist, Ginny Luke, whose dynamic performances add a new dimension to LUFEH’s sound.

“This album is the result of a lot of dedication, maturity, and the realization of a dream. We focused on strong, memorable vocal melodies while keeping the complex musicianship our fans love. It’s the perfect balance of sophistication and catchiness,” says founder and drummer Lufeh Batera.

While LUFEH’s 2020 debut, “Luggage Falling Down,” leaned heavily into technical, instrumental complexity, “Overwhelmed” takes a more melodic, vocal‑driven approach without sacrificing the band’s progressive roots.

“We wanted songs people could sing with us. All eight tracks have choruses that stick with you. It’s complicated music that’s also catchy, and I think fans will really dig that blend,”
 explains Batera.

The album features eight meticulously crafted tracks, each around four minutes long, shaped through a collaborative writing process between members in Los Angeles and São Paulo. Despite the distance, roughly 70% of the album was created online, showcasing the band’s modern, global workflow. “Overwhelmed” explores emotional turbulence, spiritual renewal, and the struggle to stay grounded in a chaotic world. From the uplifting message of “Breathe” to the rock‑opera drama of “Feels Like I’m a Ghost,” the album blends heavy moments with melodic clarity and introspection.

“Overwhelmed” also marks the debut of Ginny Luke as LUFEH’s featured vocalist. An internationally recognized electric violinist and singer, Luke has performed with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and many others.

Her violin appears on three tracks, “Overwhelmed,” “Feels Like I’m a Ghost,” and “Live the New Today”, adding a dramatic, orchestral edge to the band’s progressive sound.

“Ginny brought a whole new dimension to this album. Her voice and violin transformed the music into something unique and powerful,” adds Batera.

LUFEH’s lineup is built on decades of friendship and collaboration. Guitarist Deio Tambasco and bassist Duca Tambasco have been playing with Batera since the early ’90s in their original band Anno Domini. Their long‑standing chemistry fuels the band’s tight, expressive sound.

“We’re all in our 50s, but we feel like we’re 30. We’ve been friends forever. There’s no ego in this band, just honesty, passion, and a lot of love,” adds Batera.

The first single, “He Commands The Sun and The Stars,” is a rhythmic tour‑de‑force anchored by Batera’s intricate drumming and a massive, unforgettable chorus. Lyrically, the song explores the rise and unraveling of a powerful figure worshipped by the masses, until the crowd begins to question him.

“It’s one of my personal favorites. It’s complex, but the chorus stays in your head. That’s exactly the balance we aimed for,” comments Batera.

The Album Artwork:

“The cover for Overwhelmed is meant to be a literal visual of how the title feels. We wanted to capture that sensation of being completely submerged underwater.

When you’re deep underwater, everything is heavy, quiet, and intense. The silhouette represents that feeling of being ‘under’ it all—whether that’s stress, emotions, or just life in general.

But we also made sure to include the light coming from the surface. To me, that represents hope and the search for air. It really matches the balance of the album: some parts are heavy and complex, while others are more melodic and give you a chance to breathe.”

About the album as a whole (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

“This album is the result of a lot of dedication, maturity, and the realization of a dream come true. Recording at the historic Sunset Sound studio here in LOS ANGELES, where the biggest names in world music recorded their hits, was truly an unforgettable experience. We have impactful songs, heavy ballads, a good dose of double pedal on drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard solos, all mixed with the incredible voice of Genny Luke.”

Track by Track (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

1. HE COMMANDS THE SUN AND STARS
“From a drummer’s perspective, this one is my personal favorite because of how complex the rhythms are. Even with all that technical playing, it still has a really catchy chorus that sticks in your head.

The lyrics are about a powerful man who controls the sun and the stars, but then he’s questioned by the very crowd of people who worship him. It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks on the album.

2. BREATHE
“This song is just a blast to play because it has such a positive, upbeat vibe. It carries a really important message for all of us in our daily lives: just breathe and slow down. We all need that reminder sometimes, and the music really reflects that feeling.”

3. DOUBLE DIP
“This track has some really unique rhythmic complexity. We switch back and forth between 6/8 and 4/4 time, which might keep people guessing at first, but the end result is amazing. One of the highlights is the Bulbul Tarang (a unique string instrument) that we used in the intro. Lyrically, the song is about how it’s impossible to serve two masters and the struggle of living with that kind of duality.”

4. OVERWHELMED
“This is the title track of the album, and it was written by our guitarist, Deio Tambasco. The big highlight here is Ginny Luke’s violin in the intro. Having a violin player with us really transformed the music and turned it into something unique and different.” Lyrically, the song is about that point where you feel like you can’t keep running anymore. It talks about having ‘knots in your head’ and feeling like there’s an ‘overcrowded rat race’ in your soul because of all the distractions in life. The main message is about needing to take a moment to recharge, breathe in, and slow down before you lose control because time is running out.

5. FEELS LIKE I’M A GHOST
“When we were writing this one, we really wanted it to be our version of a Rock Opera. It has so many different moods and atmospheres throughout the song. This is the second track where Ginny Luke joins us on the violin, which adds so much to the sound. It starts very sad and melancholic, but by the end, it transforms into a full-on prog track with some cool odd time signatures.” Lyrically, the song is about the loneliness and exhaustion of being far away from home while a storm is raging. It talks about missing the person you love and feeling like a ‘ghost’ because you’ve sacrificed so much time and years of your life to ‘win the fight’. You’re out in the world, but you feel like a stranger to the people waiting for you at home. It’s a very emotional song about the personal cost of being away from the ones you love.

6. LIVE THE NEW TODAY
I consider this the richest song on the album because of the incredible variety of musical elements. It goes through so many different moods—from very calm and serene moments to heavy sections with double bass Power Metal grooves. It even features solos for the bass, guitar, and violin!

Lyrically, the song is about self-reflection and choosing to live authentically. It talks about looking in the mirror and deciding to let go of the past—what is ‘dead and gone’—so you can find the strength to move forward. Instead of hiding behind blame or projections, it’s about doing what it takes to truly ‘live the new today.’

7. WAR OF EMOTIONS
“This song is a bit different for us. Even though we aren’t a heavy metal band, this one definitely has a ‘metal’ soul. We’re a pretty eclectic group, so we like exploring those heavier sounds, but we used the keyboards and the vocal melodies to make sure the track still felt like it belonged with the rest of the album. Lyrically, the song is about an internal ‘war of emotions’ and the struggle of facing yourself. It describes that moment when truth and illusion start to blur, and you realize your biggest battle is actually against your own reflection. It’s about finally looking at the truth so you can move toward the light.”

8. END OF THE TUNNEL
“We really love the shifts in atmosphere on this track, especially with that Fusion vibe during the keyboard solo in the second half. Another cool detail is the ‘cyclic’ feeling at the very end during the guitar solo—it makes you feel like the tunnel might never end. Lyrically, the song is about going through a spiritual renewal while in the dark and finally seeing that light at the end of the tunnel. It’s about learning from your mistakes and realizing that all the effort and the struggle were worth it, because you come out of the journey stronger and with a much clearer view of life.”

STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS ABOUT THE BAND

1. “One thing people find interesting is that we’re all 50-somethings, but we honestly feel like we’re 30! The core of this band has actually been playing together for about 30 years in different ways—sometimes as partners, sometimes as producers, or hiring each other for sessions.

Because we’ve been friends for so long, we have a very deep, honest connection. We might have big disagreements, but it always ends with us hugging it out and crying like schoolkids because we care so much. There is zero ego in this band. Our creative process is like a drawing that passes from hand to hand—everyone adds their own stroke until it has the right colors and depth. We don’t care about ‘owning’ a song; we just want a result that makes us happy.

We also really evolved our sound for this new album. Our first record was mostly built as instrumental music first, and then we added vocals. But for Overwhelmed, we changed everything. We wrote these songs specifically for the vocal melodies. We wanted catchy themes and ‘signatures’ that people can remember—like using the exotic Bulbul Tarang on ‘Double Dip.’ We also brought in more vocal layers and different voices this time to give the album a lot of cool textures. It’s all about making the music feel fluid and comfortable for the listener.”

LUFEH is a sophisticated fusion of progressive rock, metal, and jazz influences, creating a sound that blends technical complexity with deep musical emotion. Founded by drummer Lufeh, the band has evolved over the years, gaining recognition for its unique approach to blending genres and pushing musical boundaries.

In a significant lineup change, LUFEH welcomed Deio Tambasco as the new guitar player in October 2025, replacing Teo Dornellas, who had been with the band from the beginning. Deio, who has been part of Lufeh’s musical journey since 1993 when they first formed their band Anno Domini, brings a wealth of experience and musical depth to the group. In Anno Domini, Deio was the lead guitarist, with Lufeh on drums and Deio’s brother Duca Tambasco on bass. Today, Duca is part of LUFEH as well, continuing his role as the band’s bassist and contributing to the tight rhythm section that defines their sound. The band’s close musical ties continue to thrive, and Deio’s return to the fold feels like a natural progression, reuniting with his long-time musical collaborators.

This latest change comes as LUFEH prepares for the release of their second studio album, Overwhelmed. Recorded at the renowned Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, CA, the album showcases a thrilling mix of progressive rock, fusion, and metal influences. Produced by Gera Penna, LUFEH’s talented keyboardist and back vocalist, Overwhelmed features 8 tracks that are both intricate and emotionally charged, representing the band’s growth and refinement of sound.

Dennis Atlas, who was the original vocalist, is no longer with the band due to scheduling conflicts, but after auditioning four different singers, we are excited to announce that Ginny Luke is our new featured vocalist. She is an incredible talent and also plays the violin on three of our new songs: ‘Overwhelmed,’ ‘Feels I’m a Ghost,’ and ‘Live the New Today.’ Ginny’s powerful voice and her violin have given our sound a whole new dimension. The new album is a huge milestone for us, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear this new chapter of Lufeh.”

“Overwhelmed”, due out on May 26, 2026, is the second album since the release of the debut album “LUGGAGE FALLING DOWN”, released in 2020.

LUFEH is a musical collaboration of excellent Brazilian and American musicians brought together by drummer Batera Lufeh. Lufeh himself has had a successful career performing with many famous Brazilian bands and artists, including one of the most well-known Christian rock bands of its style, Oficina G3, among others. In 2008, he recorded his first solo album “Drummed On Classics”, which uniquely combined a mix of classical pieces with progressive rock drumming.

Since moving to the U.S. in 2014, Lufeh has continued his career as a musician, starting in Florida, where he performed with Kristo Reggae and Big Pine Band. Lufeh participated in the Blue Man Group Drum-Off in 2016, where he was awarded the privilege to take part in its grand finale in Las Vegas, and chosen as one of the top five drummers in the contest. He then moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he became the official drummer of Kenny Shipman.

In 2020, LUFEH became an entire unit moving forward with the addition of Gera Penna (keyboard); Duca Tambasco (bass); Dennis Atlas (vocals); and Teo Dornellas (guitar) who have proven to be a great match. The band released the highly-anticipated second album “Luggage Falling Down” in April of the same year. It’s a solid record of Brazilian-influenced groovy progressive metal, which has received great praise from reviewers, calling it a mix between Brazilian music, Rush, and Dream Theater.

The album is both melodic and highly energetic and aggressive. With a strong foundation in jazz and classical musicality, the band brings a metal edge to a unique melodic story. These progressive metal warriors have become tycoons of song structure and, throughout the album, display highly refined expertise in making music that is captivating to listen to, addictively technical, and uplifting.

“Luggage Falling Down” is available on all major digital platforms Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

“A track from prog debutants Lufeh now, as I ‘Find My Way’ straight into being earwormed by their Prog metal goodness. Guitar solos that sound like they’ve been written by some of the hard rock greats, with plenty of atmospheric synths and across the board able musicianship means this one was a sure fire hit from the off!” – Uber Rock

LUFEH Posts Video Performing New Album “Luggage Falling Down” In Its Entirety

Gera Penna– Keys, Duca Tambasco – Bass, Dennis Atlas – Vocals, Teo Dornellas – Guitar, Lufeh Batera – Drums

Releasing their debut album “Luggage Falling Down” this past April, Los Angeles’ Lufeh (a band of both Brazilian and American musicians) have been sharing a series of music videos for each individual track from the full length over the last few months to showcase their blend of progressive rock injected with jazz styles, heavy metal foundations, and rhythmic Brazilian influences.

Today, the band shares video of them performing the new album “Luggage Falling Down” in its entirety, which can be viewed on YouTube HERE.

The live album performance was recorded at The Rose, Pasadena, CA on January 21st, 2020.

Lufeh‘s debut album was a trying, yet successful first recording for these recently banded musicians who lived together for two weeks throughout the process. Having lost the original singer a month before recording began, the intrepid bunch found hope with Dennis Atlas who fell in step with the rest of the band immediately. This bond between the members can be heard on the new record along with the series of videos that the band has released in support of it.

The band comments on the album:

“The album is both melodic and highly energetic and aggressive. With a strong foundation in jazz and classical musicality, the band brings a metal edge to a unique melodic story. These metal warriors have become tycoons of song structure and, throughout the album, display highly refined expertise in making music that is captivating to listen to, addictively technical, and uplifting.”

For fans of Dream Theater, Incubus, and Haken, Lufeh is smooth and rhythmic progressive metal; heavy chords followed by light melodies and the occasional crazy guitar solo.

Their debut full length “Luggage Falling Down” is available for stream and download on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

LUFEH’s New Video “Trial of Escapade” Off Latest Album “Luggage Falling Down”

Gera Penna– Keys, Duca Tambasco – Bass, Dennis Atlas – Vocals, Teo Dornellas – Guitar, Lufeh Batera – Drums

Releasing their debut album “Luggage Falling Down” this past April, Los Angeles’ Lufeh (a band of both Brazilian and American musicians) have been sharing their blend of progressive rock injected with jazz styles, heavy metal foundations, and rhythmic Brazilian influences with a series of music videos for each individual track from the full length.

Today, the band shares the last video from the series that they have been sharing over these past few months. The video, “Trial of Escapade” showcases their high energy and knack for performing, which can be seen on YouTube HERE.

The band explains the song:

“Trial of Escapade has a special mix of a funky groove with very dramatic vocals. Though much of the main riff and verse relies on a repeating 4-chord structure, you wouldn’t notice it on first listen due to the creative voicings of each of the chords and the variations they go through. This song’s chorus is one of the most memorable features of the whole album, and beautifully contrasts its moving bass lines and iconic guitar-bass unisons.”

Lufeh‘s debut album was a trying, yet successful first recording for these recently banded musicians who lived together for two weeks throughout the process. Having lost the original singer a month before recording began, the intrepid bunch found hope with Dennis Atlas who fell in step with the rest of the band immediately.
