LUFEH is a progressive rock/metal band blending technical precision with emotional depth and genre‑bending influences. Formed by drummer Lufeh after a long hiatus from music, the band now features guitarist Deio Tambasco, bassist Duca Tambasco, keyboardist/producer Gera Penna, and vocalist/violinist Ginny Luke. Their sound draws inspiration from Dream Theater, Rush, Vola, Tool, Haken, and Brazilian musical traditions.

Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, “Overwhelmed” represents LUFEH’s most mature and melodic work to date. While the band’s signature progressive complexity remains intact, this album places a stronger emphasis on catchy vocal melodies, memorable choruses, and emotional clarity.

The album features eight meticulously crafted tracks, designed to blend technical musicianship with accessibility. The release follows a powerful run of singles that have steadily revealed the album’s musical depth and emotional range. “He Commands the Sun and the Stars”, the first single, is a rhythmically complex yet instantly memorable track that sets the tone for the album’s direction.

Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and produced by keyboardist Gera Penna, “Overwhelmed” represents LUFEH’s most refined and expressive work to date. “We still have that elaborate, complicated playing, but this time every song has vocal parts and choruses that are easy to remember and sing along to. It’s complicated music that’s also catchy,” says band founder and drummer Lufeh Batera.

The album also marks the arrival of Ginny Luke as LUFEH’s new featured vocalist and electric violinist. Known for her work with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, and more, she brings a dynamic voice and violin performances that add a new dimension to the band’s sound.

Though Lufeh Batera resides in Los Angeles and the rest of the band is based in São Paulo, Brazil, the group crafted nearly 70% of the album online, exchanging ideas daily and refining arrangements collaboratively. Longtime musical partners Deio Tambasco (guitar) and Duca Tambasco (bass) bring decades of chemistry, having played with Lufeh since the early ’90s.

With “Overwhelmed,” LUFEH intentionally evolved from the more technical, instrumental focus of their debut “Luggage Falling Down.” This time, the band built every track around memorable vocal melodies, sing‑along choruses, and emotional clarity, without sacrificing their trademark rhythmic complexity.

“We wanted complicated music that’s also catchy. All eight songs have strong vocal parts and choruses that stick with you. I think fans will really connect with that balance,” explains Batera.

The album also marks a major sonic expansion with the addition of Ginny Luke, internationally recognized electric violinist and vocalist known for her work with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and more. Her violin appears on three tracks, adding a dramatic new dimension to LUFEH’s sound.

LUFEH’s core members, Lufeh Batera, guitarist Deio Tambasco, and bassist Duca Tambasco, share a musical bond spanning more than 30 years, dating back to their early days in Anno Domini. Their long‑standing chemistry fuels the band’s collaborative writing process, even as Lufeh works from Los Angeles and the rest of the band from São Paulo.

Roughly 70% of the new album was created online, with ideas exchanged daily across continents. Keyboardist and producer Gera Penna shaped the album’s sonic architecture, while lyricist Dennis Atlas crafted nearly all of the album’s thematic narrative.

The album’s first two singles have already set the tone for LUFEH’s new chapter, “He Commands the Sun and the Stars”, a rhythmically complex, chorus‑driven prog anthem exploring power, worship, and doubt. “Overwhelmed”, the emotional title track featuring Ginny Luke’s haunting violin, captures the suffocating pace of modern life and the need to slow down before losing control. “Double Dip” now arrives as the next piece of the puzzle, an intricate, exotic, and thematically rich track that further reveals the album’s depth.

Showcasing LUFEH’s signature blend of sophisticated, progressive, refined, modern, and intriguing musicianship while pushing their sound into bold new territory, “Double Dip” is built on a striking interplay between 6/8 and 4/4 time signatures. One of the track’s standout features is the use of the Bulbul Tarang, an exotic string instrument that immediately sets the tone for the song’s theme of duality. “This track has some really unique rhythmic complexity. We switch back and forth between 6/8 and 4/4, which might keep people guessing at first, but the result is amazing. Leading the preview to the full-length is the explosive first single, “He Commands The Sun and The Stars,” a track that captures the band’s signature blend of technical mastery, soaring melodies, and cinematic storytelling.

Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, “Overwhelmed” marks a major evolution for LUFEH, musically, lyrically, and creatively. The album introduces the band’s new featured vocalist and electric violinist, Ginny Luke, whose dynamic performances add a new dimension to LUFEH’s sound.

“This album is the result of a lot of dedication, maturity, and the realization of a dream. We focused on strong, memorable vocal melodies while keeping the complex musicianship our fans love. It’s the perfect balance of sophistication and catchiness,” says founder and drummer Lufeh Batera.

While LUFEH’s 2020 debut, “Luggage Falling Down,” leaned heavily into technical, instrumental complexity, “Overwhelmed” takes a more melodic, vocal‑driven approach without sacrificing the band’s progressive roots.

“We wanted songs people could sing with us. All eight tracks have choruses that stick with you. It’s complicated music that’s also catchy, and I think fans will really dig that blend,” explains Batera.

The album features eight meticulously crafted tracks, each around four minutes long, shaped through a collaborative writing process between members in Los Angeles and São Paulo. Despite the distance, roughly 70% of the album was created online, showcasing the band’s modern, global workflow. “Overwhelmed” explores emotional turbulence, spiritual renewal, and the struggle to stay grounded in a chaotic world. From the uplifting message of “Breathe” to the rock‑opera drama of “Feels Like I’m a Ghost,” the album blends heavy moments with melodic clarity and introspection.

“Overwhelmed” also marks the debut of Ginny Luke as LUFEH’s featured vocalist. An internationally recognized electric violinist and singer, Luke has performed with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and many others.

Her violin appears on three tracks, “Overwhelmed,” “Feels Like I’m a Ghost,” and “Live the New Today”, adding a dramatic, orchestral edge to the band’s progressive sound.

“Ginny brought a whole new dimension to this album. Her voice and violin transformed the music into something unique and powerful,” adds Batera.

LUFEH’s lineup is built on decades of friendship and collaboration. Guitarist Deio Tambasco and bassist Duca Tambasco have been playing with Batera since the early ’90s in their original band Anno Domini. Their long‑standing chemistry fuels the band’s tight, expressive sound.

“We’re all in our 50s, but we feel like we’re 30. We’ve been friends forever. There’s no ego in this band, just honesty, passion, and a lot of love,” adds Batera.

The first single, “He Commands The Sun and The Stars,” is a rhythmic tour‑de‑force anchored by Batera’s intricate drumming and a massive, unforgettable chorus. Lyrically, the song explores the rise and unraveling of a powerful figure worshipped by the masses, until the crowd begins to question him.

“It’s one of my personal favorites. It’s complex, but the chorus stays in your head. That’s exactly the balance we aimed for,” comments Batera.
