CDN Records is proud to announce that August 21st will be the release date for the reissue of Canadian death metallers The Blood of Christ‘s early 1990’s demos “Frozen Dreams” (1994)  and “The Lonely Flowers Of Autumn” (1995) on limited edition cassette and CD. Both are remixed along with remastering done by Dan Swano (Incantation, Jungle Rot, Asphyx). The CD version features bonus tracks from the 1996 Torture Records 7″ single and the 1994 demo “Frozen Dreams”.

The Blood of Christ brutalized their way onto the Canadian scene in the mid-1990s. Even with various line-up changes, mainly vocalists, the band has released a discography of multiple albums and splits along with being a tour de force, supporting bands such as Cryptopsy, Incantation, Morbid Angel, Kataklysm, Necronomicon, Killitorous and many more local and international acts.

The band comments on the reissues:

“This was the beginning of our natural journey that began rooted in straight-up death-grind metal around 1995 with added dark elements from black metal and doom. These songs became epic with varied time signatures and tempo changes, often shifting from chugging death metal riffs to droning black metal riffs in the blink of an eye – and incorporated more vocal styles than the average death metal band would. We have always called it Epic Dark Metal since our inception in 1995 with our “the Lonely Flowers of Autumn” demo… and that has stuck with us.”

In support of the reissues for “Frozen Dreams” and “The Lonely Flowers Of Autumn”, The Blood of Christ are also sharing their lyric video for the track “In The Distance”. It was a song written by the band while heavily influenced by the Kataklysm “Sorcery” album. It’s a lengthy, heavy and unique grinder that is dedicated to a story of a vampire who can not love a human woman due to his wretched existence and immortality. This song acts as a soundtrack to human suffering, told from both the band’s and the fictional vampire’s point of view.

Lyric Video – “In The Distance” – https://youtu.be/Pl7CnsSAyyQ

About:
Canadian Epic Dark Metal band The Blood of Christ (aka Blood of Christ) began their career in the early ’90s, making a blackened death metal hybrid that sounded similar to a mashup of Carcass and Enslaved. They kept this style throughout their first two albums, but started to tweak it on their third full-length album, 2003’s “Breeding Chaos”. The Blood of Christ’s brooding, unique and crushing sound has made fans out of underground metal lovers from many genres, creating an appeal that defies genre borders.

On their second release through CDN Records, the London trio has crafted their most focused and creative effort yet with 7 numbers of Epic Dark Metal dexterity and power. Fiends whom were raised on the sheer brutality and boundary-smashing efforts of Morbid Angel, or the pioneering and challenging progressive grind-core of Liverpudlian innovators Carcass, the epic and majestic sounds of Viking artisans Enslaved or even the groove-laden proto-death of Brazilian legends Sepultura will find something rousing and engulfing within The Blood of Christ. All of these influences and components meet head-on and shatter the boundaries of conventional arrangements and ultimately take the listener away to territory similarly explored by none before.

While their influences favored the shocking approach with lyrical themes that were rampant with Gore, Satanism and often-abhorrent imagery, The Blood of Christ chose to focus on more abstract and poetic subject matter. Their songs are often rife with human suffering, lust and longing, time travel, astrology, historic battles and the human struggle for personal freedom. A sincerely dark and often poetic way of not being afraid to expose the innards of human suffering, and relate to the misery from the destructive, self-promotion of humanity with unique vocals that sound as if purveyed by a raging beast – all of which is set to a brutal and epic soundtrack.

The Blood of Christ was formed in London, Ontario, in 1994, their lineup composed of avid metal scenesters: guitarist Jeff Longo, bassist Marek Kopala, drummer Jason Longo and vocalist Jason Deaville. Musically, at that time they were closest to Cannibal Corpse, although other metal bands like Morbid Angel, Samael, Kataklysm and Carcass played a role in their sound.

A 1995 demo (that saw a shift in style to what is now their own blend of death and black metal) helped the band secure a deal with Pulverizer Records, which released their debut album, “…a Dream to Remember” in 1997. A strong underground following began to build behind the group with albums like 1997’s “…a Dream to Remember” and 2002’s “As the Rain Gently falls”. Vocalist Conan Bulani, who joined the group in time to appear on the band’s debut album, sadly passed away in 2011. The Blood of Christ is now fronted by Ontario underground-metal veteran Hank Bielanski on bass & vocals.

The release of “Eastern Beast – Western Wolf”, a split CD & Cassette with Japanese hyper-groove masters Vomit Remnants on CDN Records in late 2020 will see the debut of Hank’s beastly craft with The Blood of Christ. The Blood of Christ is the embodiment of an Epic Dark Metal craft that in it of itself is limitless with possibility.

“Anthology IV shows that they deserve to be respected as one of Canada’s better death metal exports” – Exclaim!

“…Canadian brutal death metal legends Blood Of Christ are a band who helped to define the sound known as Northern Hyperblast…” – Metal Injection

Summoner’s Circle’s third full-length album “Chaos Vector” is being released this year and they have left no detail out. Accompanying the album is a Lovecraft-style cosmic horror short story written by the band where each chapter correlates to a song. This story marks a new chapter in The Lore of The Six and sets a foundation for them conceptually moving forward. The first single off this release is the title track.

The single was intentionally written as a shorter song because they needed an extra short song for their set on the 2019 Hexed Tour with Children of Bodom. It was well-received on tour and they felt the chaotic nature and strong hook made it an obvious choice as the first single for the album. They continue to explain:

“Given the worldly turmoil of 2020, Chaos Vector seemed apropos to choose as the title track of the album. The drums for this song were originally written by Yanic Bercier of Gone in April and Quo Vadis and were performed on this album by our current drummer, Invictus, who still performs the original Bercier beats. Yanic also appears in the music video as the drummer for this song. Chaos Vector tells the story of a man who has been driven mad through his practices in the occult. And while he tries tirelessly to warn others of the impending doom he wrought upon this world; he is only perceived as a madman sounding off.”

This album was conceived over two years ago, but the global turmoil slowed down its creation. Now that it is ready for release, the band couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. They are eager to share with fans their love of storytelling and cosmic horror in a concept album that vocalist Blind has been percolating since their formation in 2015. They say that they have scratched every creative itch with this record, and hope fans get the same satisfaction from it.

Dark and haunting, Summoner’s Circle is recommended for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth and Immortal.

The music video for the album title track and first single “Chaos Vector” can be viewed via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

“Chaos Vector” was recorded by Yanic Bercier at Wavetransform Studios in Knoxville, USA and will be released by Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast on August 27th, 2021.

About:
“Let the Summoning Begin…”
Summoner’s Circle is a six-piece theatrical metal band that blends elements of doom, death, black and progressive metal into what they refer to as simply Epic Metal.

For the band, every song in an incantation, every live performance is a Summoning, and everything they do is tied intrinsically to the mythology, or lore, they have created. The lore tells the story of the band’s origins, battles of divine conquest and showcases their creativity and vision, which sets the stage for a very entertaining live performance where bigger is better, and Epic is always the standard.

The Summoners released their first EP, entitled First Summoning, in late 2015. This was followed in 2016 by the single, Become None, and its B-side, Minotaur, both of which are included on their debut full-length release entitled Tome, which was released in June of 2018.

In May of 2019, Tome was repackaged and released as Become None via the Pavement Entertainment label.

In the spring of 2019, Summoner’s Circle joined Children of Bodom, Swallow the Sun and Wolfheart as part of Bodom’s Hexed North American Tour, gaining many new fans and excellent reviews.

In June of 2019, the Six signed a worldwide management deal with Extreme Management Group, Inc. who also manages Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index and many others.

Summoner’s Circle’s second full-length album Chaos Vector is scheduled to be released in 2021 and will be accompanied by a Lovecraft-style cosmic horror short story written by the band. Each song is a chapter in the story.

“Summoners’ Circle have the whole package. Their songs are original and memorable, beautifully written, and hook the listener after the first listening. They have a great stage presence, and the theatricality and imagery of their live performances keep the fans talking about their experience way beyond the day of the show. I am honored to work on the production of their upcoming album.” – Yanic Bercier, Ph.D | Endorser of Yamaha Drums, Sabian, Vic Firth, Evans, AKG, RME, True-Systems, Engl, Ddrum

“Hooked the first time I saw this band play! No two shows are the same and I’m always left wanting more.  It’s what music and show should be!” – Lee Abney | Pentagram/Place of Skulls

“These guys are serious about what they do and the costumes and imagery match the grandiose sound they produce.” No Clean Singing

“SUMMONER’S CIRCLE’s full-length debut gets near the 75-minute mark, and yet it succeeds in balancing complexity, heaviness, catchiness, mystery and melodrama to make sure its duration does not become overwhelming. an almost perfect record …especially its flawless production and its tight, inventive songwriting.” – Metal Temple

“Summoner’s Circle is the kind of band you go your whole life hoping to hear and when you finally do it’s even better than you expected. They are the culmination of a lifetime spent listening to music and finally finding something that fits where nothing else has. Plus, brutality aside, they’re just a fantastic group of otherworldly beings.” – Josh Martin 94.3 WNFZ

0 Canada’s Mütherload Are Now Streaming Their Debut EP Ü

  • July 6, 2021
  • by Asher
  • · Mütherload · Music News

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 6, 2021

For fans of Lamb of God, In Flames, Mastodon, Opeth, Tool

Canada’s Mütherload Are Now Streaming Their Debut EP Ü

Mütherload hails from London, ON, Canada and they are pleased to announce their debut EP “Ü”. The majority of the musicians in the band worked together previously in Heaven Ablaze and keep the same professionalism and tightness, albeit with less of a thrashy sound and more of an emphasis on death metal.

Before the EP officially drops on Friday, July 9th, the band has teamed up with NoCleanSinging for its full stream premiere HERE.

Musically, the album starts a little on the dark side. The main reason for that is because the first two songs (“Insect”, and  “The Visitor”) are in a much lower tuning (Open C# Major) and the last couple of tracks (Thaügüst, and Lamia) are in Eb Standard. By the end of the EP, things sound a little brighter and more upbeat, sonically.

According to vocalist Derek Lee, lyrical inspiration comes from life and its atrocities, and things that make him mad; his opinions and the state of society, the state of the government, the state of our mental frailty, his inner demons and the lessons he’s learned in life, both good and bad. He explains the album in further detail:

“The Ü EP is our first step back into the metal scene after years of silence. We feel this small collection of music represents the focus that we’ve developed as a band in our songwriting for the first time in years. Musically we’ve stretched our reach into new territory with open tunings, and more space for vocals. This EP deserves to be played loud, so crank it up!”

For those who enjoyed this initial six-track sampling of Mütherload, there is more in the works! There are complete songs ready to go and the riffs just keep coming. Stay tuned!

A sonic smorgasbord of all things heavy, Mütherload is recommended for fans of In Flames, Mastodon, Lamb of God and Opeth.

About:
Kill The Imposter is an Orlando, USA-based deathcore band that was formed in late 2018. Pulling musical inspiration from everywhere, the intention of this four-piece band is to make you move in any capacity you see fit.

Coming from local and national bands, Kill The Imposter brings experience, drive, and mayhem, to the stage. The quartet banded together over a shared love for heavy and violent music, after sharing the stage for one song they knew they had something special, so they sat down together and within a week had 3 songs written and a video lined up. They haven’t stopped since that first sit down, and they won’t stop.

One of the founding members Danny Arrieta (guitar) is the primary music writer getting help with arrangement by Johnny Nobody (vocals). Nick Colvin (drums) carries the aggressive speed and heavy grooves with Wilson Bembry ( bass) definitely sharing and blending the thundering lows and technical playing between all of it.

Since they got together, Kill The Imposter has released “The Decimation” (2019), “A Strain Of Agony” (2020) and “The Violence Sessions” (2021). They have pummeled the stages of Central Florida Metal Fest and Tampa DeathFest and played alongside heavy hitters such as Nile and Terrorizer.

Fell Harvest Add Progressive Touches To Traditional Doom In “Thy Barren Fields”

L-R – Joseph Fell – Bass/Vocals, Angel Enkeli – Drums, Liam Duncan – Guitars

Fell Harvest is excited to release their second album “Pale Light In A Dying World” and ahead of that, offer “Thy Barren Fields” as a second sample of what’s to come via its premiere on TheObelisk HERE.

The single is the second track on the album and the only one that was not written in its entirety by bassist/vocalist Joseph Fell. Some of the inspiration for the lyrics in the track comes from a poem Fell wrote, which shares its title with the band’s name. Guitarist Liam Duncan wrote a part for the song, which Fell built the rest of the piece around. Fell explains the track in further detail:

“I think it proved to be the strongest and most complex song on the record and I’m hopeful that future songs will have more contributions from Liam and Angel. For a long time, I have put rails around my writing. I would write a riff that I loved but shelve it because it wasn’t what I imagined the band I was in at the time to be. I made a conscious effort not to do that with this record. Any the idea was on the table as long as it was good and could flow with the rest of the material.”

Fell continues to explain that this is likely his favorite song on the album and the one he is most proud of. It encompasses a broad scope of influences while never feeling like it’s reaching or forcing anything. Listeners should be able to connect to this song, with its progressive elements alongside very straight forward doom and death metal tropes, vocal styles and lyrical concepts.

Suitable for fans of slow-paced and sorrowful doom, Fell Harvest is recommended for listeners of Opeth, My Dying Bride, and Agalloch.

“Pale Light In A Dying World” is out on July 16, 2021.

About:
Fell Harvest, doom metal from Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA, strives to weave a tapestry of melody, despair, and longing to chronicle the last lights of a dying world.

Fell Harvest grew out of a former project of Joseph Fell (bass/vocals); which found its completed form as a trio with the additions of Angel Enkeli (drums) and Liam Duncan (guitars). The name Fell Harvest came from a dream Fell had where he was walking through a deserted vineyard with every vine bearing bleached bones and rotting flesh. He woke up and wrote a short poem called “The Fell Harvest” about the images and feelings.

Probably the most unique aspect of their live sound is rooted in the fact they are a trio. It’s somewhat rare these days to see a three-piece band in extreme metal, and even more rare to see one that is as melodically driven as Fell Harvest. Fans can hear parallels to bands like Paradise Lost and Rotting Christ, but more careful listeners can hear nods to Venom and King’s X as well.

The band debuted a self-titled EP in 2020 and is following it up with “Pale Light In A Dying World” out on July 16, 2021.

0 Rockshots Records Signs Brazilian Multi-Instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa For TERRA’s Debut Album “Hypercube”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 30, 2021

For fans of Angra, Nightwish, Metallica

Rockshots Records Signs Brazilian Multi-Instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa For TERRA’s Debut Album “Hypercube”

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa for the release of his studio project Terra and its debut album “Hypercube”.

Terra is a musical, audiovisual and artistic experience that translates the personality and experiences of Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa, resulting in a musical journey for those who love music and adventure.

“The idea of Terra was always there, I believe. I have been composing and writing songs since I was 15. I needed a platform to structure and back these songs. This platform should allow me to combine some passions of mine: folk and metal music, traveling and photography. When I was around 20, I came up with the concept of TERRA, a project that would combine all the influences that made the musician and the person I am, in an organic manner, which would allow me to tell my stories of discoveries and exploration, including my experiences traveling through Brazil and throughout the world. It took about 10 years to actually find the environment and opportunity to bring this idea to life by recording Hypercube and kick-starting this journey.” comments Barbosa.

Terra’s first record is the outcome of the combination of elements put together to tell a story of a journey of growth and self-discovery, that frankly, could be the tale of every human being at some point in their lives. There are ten songs to paint a picture of the artist’s personality and explore each step of the way with the respective deserved depth. Although heavy metal is the glue that unites all the musical nuances presented on this album, “Hypercube” does not shy away from a rich range of influences such as American Bluegrass, Country Music, Classic Rock, Classical Music, Western Folk, traditional Brazilian, Caipira and Sertanejo music along with passages of Samba, Capoeira, Bossa Nova and many others to convey its message. Lucas Barbosa was responsible for playing almost all instruments, including rhythm and lead guitars in all their forms (electric, classical, 6 string, 12 string), bass, Brazilian guitar (or Viola Caipira), Andean guitar (or Charango), Pan flute (Andean flute), Thai bong, harmonica, castanets, moringa, whistle, piano and percussions, in addition to singing all the songs.

Terra‘s debut album“Hypercube” is due out November 2021.

The first single will be released on July 27th.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 29, 2021

For fans of Rush, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Devin Townsend

Prog Band Shumaun Announce New Album “Memories & Intuition” Featuring An All-Star Lineup of Drummers

Streaming First Single “Memories of Water”

New Album “Memories & Intuition” Out September 10th

Ft. Album Guests Thomas Lang (Peter Gabriel, Paul Gilbert),
Atma Anur (Jason Becker, Tony Macalpine),
Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord),
Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation), and Chris DeChiara

Shumaun (L to R) Jose Mora: Bass, Farhad Hossain: Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Tyler Kim: Guitar

Virginia’s Shumaun is hard rock for people who love the sound of intricate rhythm sections, progressive inspired guitars, colorful synths, and melodic vocals. They have a new album “Memories & Intuition” coming out this fall, with the first single “Memories of Water” already released.

Shumaun is progressive, but not pretentious. They’re accessible to fans who wish to subject themselves to the melodic and ambitious soundscapes painted by the band. This is demonstrated through the single “Memories of Water”. According to the band, it really embodies what Shumaun is all about: writing progressive inspired tracks with memorable melodies and catchy hooks that anyone can sing along to. They continue to explain the album in their own words:

“I think this album is even more song-oriented than the previous two. It still contains many of the progressive characteristics of our previous songs with regard to odd time signatures and layered instrumentation, however, it’s a bit more refined and vocal driven, though there are a couple of instrumentals on it with some crazy progressive moments. I think there’s material on this album that’ll resonate with many prog fans, however, I feel the material won’t get lost on the average music fan who doesn’t necessarily listen to progressive music of any kind. It’s certainly my favorite Shumaun album to date.”

Alongside the regular band lineup, on this album, Shumaun employs the talents of legendary drummers Thomas Lang (Peter Gabriel, Paul Gilbert), Atma Anur (Jason Becker, Tony Macalpine), and Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord). Drummers Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation) and Chris DeChiara also contributed.

Shumaun started as a solo project of Farhad Hossain, who at the time was playing with Iris Divine and needed another creative outlet for music that didn’t fit in the “prog rock/metal” genre. However, he was unable to stray from his roots of progressive rock and began the writing process for Shumaun’s first album.

Shumaun is recommended for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, and Porcupine Tree.

The first single “Memories of Water” was released on April 9th and can be watched on YouTube – https://youtu.be/kxeJGQfy1ww

“Memories & Intuition” is releasing on September 10, 2021. The album teaser is on YouTube – https://youtu.be/3aSbnu_JPhE

About:
Shumaun initially started as a solo project by Farhad Hossain (ex singer/guitarist/keyboardist of Iris Divine). After recording a few demos, he decided to recruit a few friends to help build the project into a full-fledged collaborative band. Through the course of recording their self-titled debut album, Shumaun went through a period of tribulation while securing a drummer. Original drummer Tanvir Tomal (ex Iris Divine) had to leave for professional obligations in the middle of the recording sessions and was later replaced with Waqar Khan (Entity Paradigm), who is also well known for his work with the platinum-selling Ali Azmat of the EMI recording artist Junoon (one of South Asia’s most successful rock bands). Waqar remained with the band long enough to record a few tracks on the debut record as well as appear live for some of the earlier shows. Travis Orbin (Darkest Hour, Periphery), Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord) recorded the remaining drums on the debut record that was released in the fall of 2015. Tanvir has since returned to the band as the live drummer.

2019 saw the band releasing their sophomore album “One Day Closer to Yesterday.” The album was once again mixed by Brett Caldas-Lima at Tower Studio in France. The album was rawer and heavier, but the melodies and vocals were never compromised. It includes the bombastic prog metal single “Go.”

2021 sees Shumaun releasing their third album “Memories & Intuition,” which features the amazing drumming of legends such as Thomas Lang (Peter Gabriel, Paul Gilbert), Atma Anur (Jason Becker, Tony Macalpine), Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord), and Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation). Shumaun once again tapped Brett Caldas-Lima and Tower Studio for mixing and mastering. The album is their most melodic to date and consists of their single “Memories of Water.”

The Shumaun sound is shaped by the soaring vocals and lead guitar work of Farhad Hossain, the pounding melodic bass lines of Jose Mora, and the subtle guitar nuances of Tyler Kim. The band has received many accolades, and have made it onto several “album of the year” lists from sites such as Progressive Music Planet, Decibel Geek, and Metal Asylum etc. The band also won The Deli Magazine’s “Best of 2015” for Washington DC bands, and have been featured on Revolver Magazine, and Decibel Magazine.

Rockshots Records Signs Italian Symphonic Folk Metal AEXYLIUM For New Album “The Fifth Season”

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of Aexylium for their new album “The Fifth Season”.

Mixing traditional folk instruments (Flute, Violin, Bouzouki) with the modern symphonic metal, Aexylium‘s sophomore full length follows 2018’s “Tales From This Land” (Underground Symphony Records) and their 2016 self-produced EP “The Blind Crow“. “Tales From This Land” has had over 110k streams on Spotify along with its powerful single “Revive the Village’ placing on the top 200 metal song charts in Germany on Apple Music. Aexylium has also released fan-praised covers of Game of Thrones and Vikings main themes with reinterpreted folk metal sounds.

Since their inception in 2014, the Varese, Italy band has performed at renowned festivals in Europe such as Dumeltica International Music Festival, Montelago Celtic Festival, Malpaga Folk & Metal, Rock Inn Somma, Druidia and Strigarium along with sharing the stage with Elvenking, Wind Rose, Nervosa, Furor Gallico, Temperance and more. In August 2020, despite Covid restrictions, Aexylium was chosen by the city of Milan to perform at the historical Castello Sforzesco.

Their new album “The Fifth Season” is a concrete step towards growth and musical maturity with its offering of festive ballads, tighter riffs, advanced orchestrations and heavier dark songs that are all inspired by Norse Mythology. The record also features guest vocals from Samuele Faulisi (Atlas Pain), Arianna Bellinaso and the members of Coro Facoltà di Musicologia Vocal Ensemble. The album was recorded at Twilight Studio by Davide Tavecchia with the artwork done by Yan Yrlund of Darkgrove Design (Manowar, Testament, Korpiklaani.

Plus the addition of vocals from Arianna Bellinaso, Coro Facoltà di Musicologia Vocal Ensemble and Samuele Faulisi add so much more! We definitely wanted to compose songs without setting limits in terms of composition, so each song will sound unique and different from one another.”

“The experience of hearing ‘Tales from this Land’ is a wonderful voyage through time and music at the same time” – Metal Temple (9/10)

“They just need to keep honing the direction, it’s on the right track for sure! I’m not even a big fan of folk metal, but I just became a fan of Aexylium!” – BucketList (9/10)

“A significantly well done, fun and excellent debut album if you love this genre of music” – Metalwave (80/100)

“‘Tales from this Land’ is not afraid of foreign competition and shows, together with a handful of CDs released in recent months, great talent” – Mister Folk (8/10)

“The first song of their concert is unmistakable for those who have followed this TV series, I’m obviously talking about ‘Game of Thrones’ and is welcomed by an ovation from the crowd, that is getting bigger under the stage … They are eight on the stage and the energy they spread is perceived and celebrated several times by the horn sounds among the crowd” – Malpaga 2016 live report by Metalpit

“Aexylium from Varese, a band that I personally had never listened live and that turned out to be a pleasant discovery … The crowd is jumping, and even though their show is at the hottest time of the day, the audience for them is consistent, and it is undeniable that they appreciate the exhibition” – Malpaga 2016 by Suoni Distorti Magazine

Draemora Unveil Their “Victorious” Music Video For New Album “Death Rectangle”

Video Premiere via TheCirclePit

New Album “Death Rectangle” Out Now!

Tour Dates (July/August) w/ Hed PE

Seattle progressive metalcore outfit Draemora is unveiling their latest music video for the track “Victorious” from their new album “Death Rectangle” recently unleashed on June 18th.

The video can be viewed via its premiere on TheCirclePit’s YouTube Channel – https://youtu.be/ty9Z919TfT4

“Victorious” was written right after guitarist Terry Paulson got a new 7 string guitar that was tuned to drop G. Instantly inspired by its sound, he completed the whole song in an evening. Showing it to his bandmates, the final version of “Victorious” was done in just a few days. Debating and anxious to release, the band originally thought of sharing the song as a single during the pandemic, but in the end, Draemora decided that it would be best positioned on their new full length.

“We were going to actually separate it from the album and let it be a song on its own, but at the last minute, we decided it was the perfect way to end the album because it has that great classic formula in there with a twist to the parts that really puts our stamp on it in a great way. We want people to enjoy it live, so we made big choruses and really big recognizable parts.” says the band.

Completely DIY with all the recordings done in Terry Paulson’s home studio including the mixing and mastering, Draemora‘s first full-length “Death Rectangle” has a lot more depth than their previous work, 2020’s debut EP “Awakening”. The band claim that has to do with the growing cohesiveness that comes with being together for over a year at this point. They also mention that this time around they were able to slow down and let everything come together, try out parts in the practice space a lot and make changes based on how they sounded performed to shorten the gap between live and studio performance. They continue to explain:

“Lyrically with Death Rectangle we wanted to make songs that anyone could very easily imprint their own life into. These songs all have deep meaning to us, but we stayed away from using any specific references so that the listener could make it whatever their imagination wants it to be. We think that is the best way to make a song. Musically, this collection of songs is mostly dark and heavy sounding. It wasn’t intentional, but when this was written we were all locked up and lost our jobs, and had to watch the world riot and go nuts so we’re not surprised it sounds that way.”

What’s next for Draemora is live gigs with tour dates in July and August with Hed PE and another full length hopefully for next year. Exciting and rhythmic, they are recommended for fans of Periphery, Architects and Spiritbox.

“On this new album, DRAEMORA has truly explored an evolution from their previous release.” -Metal Temple

“Washington state groovedjentcore specialists…” – Metal Bulletin

“Fans of contemporary groove sounds should find something to like in this heaviness in the strings and in the growling, in the energy of it all, and there is also singing, which adds a melodic element to the toughness of their style. Here in Washington state, their name is getting some traction. Maybe the simplicity of the heaviness connects with listeners, perhaps is the core music stylings, too. Listen for yourself, and see.” – Metal Bulletin

“Draemora manages to do something that not a lot of first-time prog bands seem to do: create a simple, exciting album that doesn’t showboat or try to be TOO unique. The sound that ‘Death Rectangle’ has adopted is straight from the metal-core textbook, and it works. The unique spin they have added with the heavier death-metal vocals creates a combination of metalcore and death-metal that works in a wild way. An absolute must listen to on the album is track 2’s ‘Slaves Until Death’, just the intro got me a bit rowdy. The heavy beat and the deeper guitar followed by the guttural vocals just mixes well…” – Midlands Metalheads Radio

“Death Rectangle shows a band that certainly knows how to hit the right notes in the musical-technical field.” – Amped Up

“complete with catchy riffs, strong drums, and an easy-to-learn chorus Death Rectangle is sure to be sung at live shows. The band is really finding its sound with this release; their chemistry is evident and will undoubtedly only get better from here.” – Territorio Rock

“Draemora’s new EP Awakening is a 17 minute melodic death metal piece with more twists and turns than your average M. Night Shyamalan movie. This is a band that doesn’t stick to the tradition melo-death sounds, instead looking to incorporate some clean singing, some progressive sections and some experimental sounds… This is an EP that incorporates many different sounds, but doesn’t have any filler… A very unique debut release from Draemora.” – Metal Injection (Review Awakening EP 2020)

“‘Guilt’ features the band’s penchant for mixing their brutal modern metal with glorious rock melodies! Think of a sound that meshes Gojira, Alien Weaponry, Faith No More, and the more recent era of Lamb of God, and you might begin to understand the group!” – Ghost Cult Mag (Review Awakening EP 2020)

“In this playthrough of their song “Guilt” we see Terry from Draemora ripping away with his Fender Telecaster. His tele is loaded with a single EMG 57 and he’s boosting that guy with an Ibanez TS9 going directly into his Mesa. The deadly tone of the 2-channel and a heavy rhythm hand are such a great combo.” – Gear Gods (Review Awakening EP 2020)

Social Media Hashtag #LAH9

Western Canada’s decibel-breaking festival LOUD AS HELL is proud to announce its return to the roaring Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds in Drumheller, AB from July 30th to August 1st.

The heavy metal and camping event will feature a celebrated line-up of Western Canada’s top-tier artists over three headbanging days that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Like many music events across Canada, Loud As Hell‘s 2020 production was forced to cancel due to the COVID pandemic. It was scheduled to be their 9th consecutive concert since the first metal jamboree in 2012. Over the years, the festival has hosted hundreds of Canadian and international bands in the prairie badlands. The 2019 edition of Loud As Hell sold out and melted faces off of metalheads who assembled from across the country for its 40 band line-up, which featured Goatwhore, Anciients, Planet Eater, Untimely Demise, Arrival of Autumn.

Loud As Hell event organizers have been closely monitoring guidelines and updates from Alberta’s provincial government. The most recent announcement from officials to fully open up the province on July 1st as part of their Stage 3 planning that states the following:

Stage 3: Two weeks after 70% of Albertans 12+ (born in 2009 or earlier) have received at least one dose. Effective July 1st.

  • All restrictions lifted, including the ban on indoor social gatherings.
  • Isolation requirements for confirmed cases of COVID-19 and some protective measures in continuing care settings remain.
  • The general indoor provincial mask mandate will be lifted, but masking may still be required in limited and specific settings.
  • More information will be shared prior to the start of Stage 3.

Source: https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx

With this declaration, Loud As Hell representative Geoff Bourrie had this to say about moving forward and producing the 2021 edition of the metalhead gathering.

“WE ARE BACK!!! We all have felt the impact that this pandemic has had on the music industry in Canada and around the globe. Loud As Hell is an integral part of the metal scene here in Alberta. Now with the province recently announcing its reopening plan for summer with festivals included, we are officially back for 2021. It just makes sense for us to help be that spark that the music scene needs to kick off the summer.”

Advance weekend passes with camping included will be available for $140 CAD at the following link as of Monday, June 28th: http://www.loudashell.ca/tickets

2020 weekend passes that were purchased will be honoured for Loud As Hell 2021.

What the press is saying:
“Western Canada’s loudest heavy metal festival brings fans to town more known for dinos than drum solos.” – CBC Calgary

“Loud as Hell – one of Canada’s top underground metal festivals – was a metal family reunion. If you walked around the grounds, where tents covered the landscape like flowers, you would experience concert goers laughing, hugging and just enjoying the moment. The music played non-stop and the people were some of the best you’ll meet. What else do you need? If you’re a metal head fan, mark it down for next year because this is a concert you don’t want to miss.” – Blackfalds Life

“Headbanger alert: Loud As Hell festival to ramp up the volume” – Calgary Herald

“Nevermind the bug spray and sun tan lotion, as August approaches Drumheller residents should stock up on earplugs.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud As Hell returns to the southern Alberta city for its seventh year and as its name implies, will rock the city to its core.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud as Hell has celebrated eight years in the Badlands to date, with acts from all over the world-shattering the peace and quiet of the hills in a camping and music extravaganza.” – Hanna Herald

“Drumheller with its dinosaur bones is the site of the annual Loud as Hell heavy metal festival Friday through Sunday. Dozens of the heaviest bands known to Man will be taking the stage, many of them Canadian” – Gig City
