Brutal Minimalist Noise Rock BAT LEATHER’s New Album “Dark Arts” Now Available on Vinyl From NO LIST RECORDS

+ New Video “Technical Aggression”

+ Alberta Tour Dates

No List Records announces that brutal minimalist noise rock duo Bat Leather’s new album “Dark Arts” is officially available today on limited‑edition vinyl (150 white vinyl copies, 50 rare black editions). These runs capture the band’s confrontational, genre‑breaking sound, a collision of punk abrasion, noisy garage chaos, and sludgy heaviness that refuses to sit still or fit neatly into any box.

Bat Leather marks release day with a brand‑new video for “Technical Aggression”, a track that twists feedback into structure and pushes their hyper‑distorted aesthetic to its breaking point.

Video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNwRKswfI94

Hailing from Calgary, AB, and Vancouver, BC, the duo known as Bat Leather’s music hits in short blasts, overdriven vocals, feedback woven directly into the songwriting, guitars pushed past the red, and a heaviness that somehow keeps getting heavier.

Tracks like “Technical Aggression” showcase the band’s ability to weaponize noise, while “Dance Craze” drags listeners through a slow‑burn haze of pounding drums and smoke‑thick atmosphere. It’s punk, but not. It’s garage rock, but not. It’s sludgy, but not entirely. It’s all of it at once, and then noisier.

Bat Leather resists comparisons, scenes, and tidy genre labels. Their music is complicated, confrontational, and strangely addictive. If “heavy rotation” counts as a genre, Bat Leather owns it. Drop the needle, and you’re immediately confronted with something puzzling, uneasy, and addictive.

No List Records
continues its tradition of supporting uncompromising, boundary‑pushing artists. The “Dark Arts” vinyl release reinforces the label’s commitment to music that challenges, confronts, and refuses to be simplified.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 3, 2026

Northern Irish Pagan Metal Pioneers WAYLANDER Unveils Video “Macha” From New Album “Mac Tíre – Son of the Land” Out Nov 2026

Northern Irish Pagan Metal pioneers WAYLANDER will release their new album, “Mac Tíre – Son of the Land“, on November 6th, 2026 via Rockshots Records. The band introduces the record with its first single, “Macha”, accompanied by an official music video. For fans of Skyclad, Eluveitie and Korpiklaani.

More than three decades after their formation in Northern Ireland, WAYLANDER return with “Mac Tíre – Son of the Land“, a nine-track album rooted in the landscapes, mythology and cultural heritage of Ireland. The record continues the path the band has followed since the early 1990s, combining extreme metal with traditional Irish instrumentation and Pagan themes.

While “Mac Tíre – Son of the Land” is not a concept album in the same way as its predecessor, “Ériú’s Wheel“, its songs share a strong connection with the land and the stories embedded within it. The title itself reflects this relationship: Mac Tíre, literally “son of the land”, is the Irish term for the wolf, an animal closely connected with Ireland’s natural past.

Musically, the album represents a natural evolution of WAYLANDER’s established sound, retaining the balance between metal aggression and traditional Irish elements that has defined the band throughout its career.

The first single, “Macha”, is dedicated to the ancient Goddess whose connection to WAYLANDER is both mythological and deeply personal. “Macha” is associated with the area the band calls home: both Ard Chieftain O’Hagan’s hometown and the county from which WAYLANDER originates bear her name.

“Macha is the Goddess of the area where we live. My hometown and the county where we’re from are both named after Macha. The time felt right to celebrate her in song, and we believe we have written a song worthy of her,” says Ard Chieftain O’Hagan

For WAYLANDER, mythology is not simply material drawn from a distant past but something that remains present in the landscapes, place names, and traditions surrounding them. “Macha” reflects that relationship while providing the first introduction to the themes running through “Mac Tíre – Son of the Land“.

Formed in Northern Ireland in 1993, WAYLANDER were among the early bands to combine extreme metal with traditional Irish music and Pagan themes, developing their approach before Folk and Pagan Metal became established movements within the international metal scene. Whistles, Irish bouzouki, bodhrán, and Uilleann pipes remain integral elements of the band’s musical identity.

About:

Northern Irish Pagan Metal pioneers Waylander have spent more than three decades forging their own path through the worlds of Celtic, Folk and Extreme Metal. Since forming in 1993, the band has become renowned for blending crushing metal aggression with authentic Irish folk instrumentation, mythology and pagan themes, helping shape the foundations of the modern Pagan Metal movement.

With acclaimed releases including “Reawakening Pride Once Lost“, “The Light, the Dark and the Endless Knot“, “Honour Amongst Chaos“, “Kindred Spirits” and the epic concept album “Ériú’s Wheel“, Waylander have earned a loyal international following and shared stages with some of the biggest names in Folk and Pagan Metal.

Now the band returns with their forthcoming album “Mac Tíre – Son of the Land” – a powerful new chapter that captures the spirit of Waylander at its most fierce, atmospheric and authentic. Combining savage riffs, soaring Irish melodies, ancient mythology and cinematic storytelling, the album stands as both a tribute to their roots and a bold evolution of their sound.

QUEMASANTOS Unleashes New Video “One Foot In Hell”

Concept Album “Stranded In Hell” Out Oct 2026 + Launch Pre-Order

New York-based metal project QUEMASANTOS has officially opened digital pre-orders for its forthcoming second album, “Stranded In Hell,” and has simultaneously released the album’s opening track, “One Foot In Hell,” accompanied by its official lyric video.

DIGITAL PRE-ORDER STRANDED IN HELL:

Fans who pre-order the album digitally can immediately hear “One Foot In Hell,” the first chapter of the eleven-song descent that makes up Stranded In Hell.

Musically, “One Foot In Hell” draws heavily from the aggressive character of late-’80s and early-’90s thrash and death metal. The song began with the memory of the type of fast, old-school, Pestilence-influenced drumming that QUEMASANTOS founder Ignacio Orellana had always been drawn to, but it developed into something broader as the composition took shape.

The track combines fast thrash-driven sections with a contrasting middle passage that became the foundation for its guitar solo section, carrying influences that Orellana associates with bands including Anthrax, Metallica, and elements of his own musical history.

Joining QUEMASANTOS on “One Foot In Hell” is Colombian guitarist Juancho Gómez of Masacre, whose performance brings another direct connection to the South American death metal tradition that has influenced Orellana throughout his career.

Ignacio Orellana

Orellana comments:

“One Foot In Hell was actually one of the last songs that came together for the album, but once it was finished, I knew it was the right place to begin. It has that old-school aggression I grew up loving, but it also contains several different pieces of my own musical history. For me, it became the perfect first step into Stranded In Hell.”

Nelson Diaz

Vocalist and lyricist Nelson “Sr. Díaz” describes the track:

“One Foot In Hell is one of the most intense songs I’ve recorded in recent years. Many different styles coexist harmoniously within it, along with a high level of vocal demand. I believe the infernal horror it presents is captured faithfully through a demonically powerful yet technical performance that will take us into a paroxysm of metal.”

“Stranded In Hell” marks the second QUEMASANTOS album featuring Sr. Díaz on vocals and lyrics, and the first album by the project performed entirely in English.

The record was constructed differently from a traditional band recording process. Orellana composed the majority of the material beginning with the bass, followed by drums and guitars, allowing the bass to function as an independent compositional voice rather than simply following the guitar arrangements.

“One Foot In Hell” was the notable exception: its composition began with the guitars.

The finished album features 11 songs and 11 guest guitarists, with musicians from across the international metal scene contributing to individual tracks.

1. One Foot In Hell (Juancho Gómez – Masacre, Colombia)
2. Burning The Black (Felipe Roa – Acaro, USA)

0 Teenage Modern Prog Metal BABY ON A RAMPAGE Assert Its Identity w/ “Reclaim” From New EP “Forgive My Figure” Out Nov 2026

Montreal, QC – September 3, 2026

Teenage Modern Prog Metal BABY ON A RAMPAGE Assert Its Identity w/ “Reclaim” From New EP “Forgive My Figure” Out Nov 2026

Co‑produced with Scott Proctor (Five Finger Death Punch touring member; Machine Head/Testament tech; Amongst Thieves; State Line Empire)

Bay Area progressive modern‑metal band Baby On A Rampage announces the upcoming release of its new EP “Forgive My Figure,” due out on November 12, 2026. Co‑produced with Scott Proctor (Five Finger Death Punch touring member; Machine Head/Testament tech; Amongst Thieves; State Line Empire), the EP marks the band’s most expansive and mature sound to date. It follows the BOAR’s 2025 debut album “Fall With Disgrace” produced by Michael Rosen (Testament, AFI, Less Than Jake).

The lead single “Reclaim”, accompanied by the band’s first official music video, will debut ahead of the band’s performance at the End of the Summer Blowout Fest on September 6 at Field of Dreams Lincoln Theater Garden in Oakland, CA.

“Reclaim” stands as one of Baby On A Rampage’s most powerful compositions. Written entirely by Ash Lee (Guitars, Vocals), the track confronts political violence, colonization, and environmental devastation.

“When I wrote the song, I was definitely bothered by the genocide in Palestine, and it’s very much a song about standing up and taking back, or kind of a call for some sort of revolution, like metaphorically, to take back a government position. Talking about the colonization history of the United States government, and how they’re constantly funding other governments before putting their own people at the forefront of their concerns. I mean, it’s about a lot of different kinds of government overreach, and the later sections are about the genocide of native people and taking their land, and it’s definitely an environmental song.”

Musically, “Reclaim” represents a clear step forward for the band, built as a multi‑section journey rather than a straightforward heavy track. Its verses hit with a dark, commanding intensity, while the clean passage opens into a big, emotional, hopeful swell. The contrast gives the song an almost spiritual lift and an anthemic feel, and it’s become a standout live moment as audiences who have heard it have connected with it immediately.

Watch and listen to the music video for “Reclaim” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDvwwrxoU6U

Bandcamp – https://babyonarampage.bandcamp.com

The band’s second offering since recording their original material, “Forgive My Figure,” represents a major leap in their evolution. The band’s writing has matured significantly, resulting in a cohesive sonic identity.

“This is our most musically and melodically complex release so far… a big wall of sound… a lot of ear candy. I think those who have been following us will hear how much we have matured since our first album and are still evolving, particularly since we’re still all teenagers,” adds Lee.

Co‑producer and engineer Scott Proctor helped shape the EP’s broader, more modern metal direction, using his skill in vocal harmonies and layered arrangements to sharpen its impact. His work brought greater focus and emotional definition to the record, while mastering engineer Matt Boudreau added the final depth and clarity.

“Scott has an incredible ear for harmonies and layering, and he pushed the songs to hit harder by stripping away anything unnecessary. His guidance on tracks like ‘Reclaim’ and ‘Failure of One’s Name’ made the arrangements clearer, stronger, and far more impactful,” adds Lee.

The EP brings together four thematically heavy tracks, each tackling personal or political conflict. “Immaculate Teeth” confronts the performative nature of American politics and the harm it masks. “My Tragedy” dives into cycles of self‑destruction and the struggle to break free. “Failure of One’s Name” explores identity, grief, and healing, rooted in drummer Lyra Renninger’s experience as a trans woman and Ash Lee’s reflections on loss. “Reclaim” serves as the EP’s centerpiece, merging political urgency with emotional release to create one of the band’s most resonant anthems.

As a teenage modern‑metal band from the East Bay, Baby On A Rampage is known for its dense, melodic, emotionally charged sound. Formed at Bandworks, the group has grown from child prodigies into one of the Bay Area’s most promising young heavy acts. They’ve been compared to Strapping Young Lad, Baroness, Gojira, and Mastodon, while forging a distinct identity rooted in progressive songwriting, theatrical energy, and community‑driven live shows.

The band’s pandemic‑era demo, recorded in Ash’s living room, earned praise from members of Forbidden, Slayer, and other industry veterans. They’ve since toured the Pacific Northwest, Canada, the West Coast, Texas, and the Midwest, surpassing 100 shows by the end of 2025 and continuing to forge on the live front across the USA in 2026.

“Forgive My Figure” will be available on all digital platforms as of November 12, 2026.

Track Listing:
1. Intro (0:56)
2. Immaculate Teeth (4:32)
3. My Tragedy (3:21
4. Reclaim (5:48)
5. Failure of One’s Name (4:29)

John Muir: Bass, Vocals
Lyra Renninger: Drums

Rome’s melodic death‑doom innovators Shores of Null have unleashed “Two Mountains,” the third single from their forthcoming album “Homesick,” out October 16th, 2026 via Dusktone. The track follows the previously released tracks “Son of the Tide” and “Bleed to Life,” offering yet another emotional and atmospheric record for fans to cherish.

“‘Two Mountains’ is probably the catchiest song we’ve ever written, and it has all the ingredients to become one of our live staples in the years to come. Its lyrics are inspired by the Legend of Maja… a story about a mother’s love and the unbearable pain of loss, but also about memory, belonging and the invisible bond we carry with the places that shaped us,” adds vocalist Davide Straccione.

The single recounts the ancient Abruzzese myth of Maja and her son Hermes, whose deaths became immortalized in the very mountains of the region, Gran Sasso and Majella, a landscape Straccione grew up with and continues to call home. The song’s soaring melodies and emotional weight reflect that connection, transforming folklore into a powerful modern metal narrative.

“Homesick” marks a new milestone for Shores of Null as an immersive, emotionally charged work that expands their sonic universe to follow their acclaimed discography, which includes “Quiescence,” “Black Drapes for Tomorrow,” “Beyond the Shores,” “The Loss of Beauty,” and the 2025 split album with Convocation, “Latitudes of Sorrow”.

The album’s ten tracks form a cohesive journey through longing, loss, trauma, belonging, and the complicated meaning of “home.” Musically, the record balances melodic death metal, doom, gothic rock, and blackened atmospheres, delivering some of the band’s heaviest moments alongside their most memorable melodies. Produced by Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono, “Homesick” features guest appearances by Natalie Koskinen (Shape of Despair), with vocals on “The Numbing Void,” and Shaun MacGowan (My Dying Bride), with violin on “Dreaming of a Scar” and “The Numbing Void”.

“Homesick is meant to be experienced as a whole… a record that moves through longing, loss, anger, vulnerability, and the need to find a place to belong to. At its core lies the idea of home as something deeply ambiguous: a place of comfort and belonging, but also of fear, pain, and memories we can never fully leave behind,”
 adds Straccione.

Montreal, QC – September 2, 2026

TRAUMATOMY Unleashes Groove Heavy Slamming Death “Visceral Maceration”

New Album “Ascension Of The Ineffable” Out Oct 2026 via Gore House Productions

Traumatomy announces their fourth full‑length album, “Ascension Of The Ineffable,” due out on October 30th, 2026 via Gore House Productions. After two years of work, the upcoming record is their rawest, sharpest, and most brutal offering yet, elevated by the distinctive production of Konstantin Ogarkov, whose approach brought a uniquely savage edge to the album’s sound.

This next offering delivers a faster, rawer, and even more brutal evolution of Traumatomy’s sound while keeping their familiar lyrical themes intact. Each track highlights a different facet of their extremity. “Entropic Obliteration” sets the tone with full-force brutality, “Pervigilium of the Obsolesced Xenolith” pushes speed and blast beats to the limit, and “Endoneural Parasitosis” leans into sickening breakdowns. “Repugnant Coalescence” stands out as the drummer’s most balanced pick, while the title track “Ascension Of The Ineffable” embodies the album’s concept and atmosphere. “Visceral Maceration” brings groove-heavy slam energy, “Autognathic Avulsion” blends grooves, blasts, and atmosphere, and “Xeno‑Homeostasis” closes the record with a perfectly structured finale. The cover art, created by legendary artist Jon Zig, captures the exact atmosphere and cosmic horror the band envisioned. As Traumatomy put it: SLAM IS THE ONLY WAY!

The first single to be unleashed, “Visceral Maceration”, was written specifically for fans of true slamming brutal death metal.

“This may be the most groovy heavy track on the record and shows that we can find a different approach to composing and structuring music,” adds guitarist Constantine.

Formed in 2012 by guitarist and main songwriter Constantine Chevardin (Disfigurement Of Flesh, Nauseating, Morphogenetic Malformation) and Haruka Kamiyama (ex‑Gorevent / Medic Vomiting Pus), Traumatomy quickly became a cult force in the brutal death metal underground. Their 2013 debut “Transcendental Evisceration of Necrogenetic Beasts” established their reputation for slammy, primitive, crushing extremity. Between 2012 and 2018, they released two albums and three EPs before evolving into a full touring band with the addition of bassist Leonid (Cephalic Impurity) and drummer Ivan.

Known for coordinated, intense performances and a relentless commitment to monolithic slam, Traumatomy continues to push their sound into increasingly brutal, higher‑quality territory with every release. Lyrically inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and criminal TV shows, and musically driven by riffs, beer, and cosmic horror.

Recommended for fans of Gorevent, Cerebral Incubation, Disgorge, Epicardiectomy, and Defeated Sanity, “Ascension of the Ineffable” is out on October 30th, 2026, from Gore House Productions.

What the press has said:

“Brutal death metal enthusiasts rejoice!… Get in, make a s**t-ton of noise, wreck some bodies, and get out. That’s the mantra of this EP, and the mindset of Traumatomy, who deliver five of the nastiest and brutalising death metal tracks heard this year. With guitar riffs that are as thick as coagulated blood, bass hooks that rip through flesh as though they’ve emerged from a freshly opened Lament Configuration, drums that sound like a demon is hitting the skulls, ribcages, and stretched skin of its victims, and vocals that gurgle and growl like a creature driven to madness through hunger. This is Traumatomy’s sound, and it is f**king mean. There’s no refresh of the brutal death metal sound here. No suggestion that Traumatomy are about to drop a melodic one out of the blue. No attempt to do anything but deliver brain-crushing heaviness at its best. Which is what Traumatomy do here. Delivering the kind of savage and sickening heaviness that leaves you with a headache, a sore neck, aching limbs, and the strong feeling of having been well and truly violated.” – Games, Brrraaains, A Head-Banging Life

“TRAUMATOMY releases “Triumph Of Enslavement”, an EP that offers slam in its purest form, but which is attractively designed in terms of songwriting and rafinesses here and there, which reveals the many years of experience in this style, especially from guitarist Constantine Chevardin. Fans should be happy with this appetizer. 8/10″ – PowerMetal.de

“Well, this is short and sweet at just over 15 minutes. Triumph of Enslavement is a nice little (tiny?) slab of brutal death metal that opens up with a mid-paced but heavy, crushing intro before swerving in a faster, but no less heavy, death metal onslaught. They do slow down, sometimes almost to a crawl, but the crushing heaviness is omnipresent, clickety drums included (OK, that has nothing to do with heaviness, but you do get the clickety drums). The growls are deep, deeper than I usually like, but they’re a perfect fit for the music here—I wouldn’t see a different style working quite as well. It’s dark, it feels like the weight of the world going through your ears, and sometimes that’s just what you need.” – The Metal Crypt

0 Calgary’s GODFALL Announces Western Canada Tour Dates + New Single “Default”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 2, 2026

Calgary’s GODFALL Announces Western Canada Tour Dates + New Single “Default”

Calgary’s genre‑defying five‑piece Godfall return with their most introspective and hard‑hitting release, the new single “Default.” The track captures the suffocating repetition of living life on autopilot, the endless cycle of tasks, obligations, and burnout that leaves no room for surprise, growth, or self‑reflection. The band describes the song as a wake‑up call, a reminder that life is happening now, not after the to‑do list is finished.

To celebrate the release, Godfall will hit the road this September for a run of Western Canadian tour dates, bringing their high‑energy, emotionally charged performance to fans in British Columbia’s Okanagan and Alberta.

“Godfall will be hitting the road to cover Alberta and making our BC debut in Kelowna to support our new single, Default’s release. We know the best way to still connect with fans old and new is by playing live, singing, and moshing together, and we are more than excited to bring our signature energy to new stages!” adds guitarist Omer Khan.

Tour Dates:
September 19 – Kelowna, BC – Unleashed Brewing
September 25 – Edmonton, AB – Rendez Vous Pub
September 26 – Red Deer, AB – The Vat
September 27 – Calgary, AB – Rec Room

As with all Godfall releases, “Default” was shaped through full‑band collaboration. Guitarist Omer Khan sparked the foundation of the track, bringing the initial riff and vibe that guided the vocal direction. Vocalists Karina Khristova and Abel Boban crafted lyrics that complement the music’s tension, choosing words, syllables, and melodies that highlight the emotional peaks of the instrumentation.

The band’s writing process remains fluid and democratic, with ideas refined, reworked, and sometimes cut entirely if they don’t serve the song. This commitment to quality over quantity continues to define Godfall’s evolution.

Every member of Godfall comes from a different country and speaks a different first language, creating a melting pot of influences that shape their unique sound. Their music blends heaviness, melody, emotional storytelling, and raw grit, a mix fans often compare to Bad Omens and Evanescence, though the band prefers to let their own identity lead the way.

“Default” marks another step in Godfall’s ongoing refinement of their sonic identity, shifting between phases of anger, melancholy, and soaring melody while staying true to the heart‑first approach that defines their catalog.

“I think Default will be a pleasant surprise since we are constantly refining our sound and working on our songwriting skills. Ultimately, we want our fans to have a Godfall song for any kind of day, whether annoyed, sad, happy, or motivated. We want them to be able to sing along and headbang at the same time,” says Karina Khristova (Clean Vocals).

Recommended for fans of Spiritbox, Evanescence, Bring Me the Horizon, Bad Omens, and Linkin Park.

0 SECRET RULE Unveils “Edge Of Control” First Single From Eleventh Studio Album + EU Tour Dates w/ Xandria, Seven Spires

Montreal, QC – September 1, 2026

SECRET RULE Unveils “Edge Of Control” First Single From Eleventh Studio Album

+ EU Tour Dates w/ Xandria, Seven Spires

Italian modern metal band Secret Rule opens a new chapter with “Edge of Control”, the first single taken from their upcoming eleventh studio album. Due out today, September 1st, 2026, via Rockshots Records, the single is now available across all major digital platforms.

Built around heavy guitars, hard-hitting rhythmic shifts, and crushing breakdowns, “Edge of Control” combines electronic textures and cinematic layers with the melodic, emotionally charged identity that has shaped Secret Rule’s sound. The result introduces a heavier, sharper and more contemporary direction while remaining unmistakably rooted in the band’s musical character.

At the centre of the track is Angela Di Vincenzo’s emotionally charged vocal performance, moving from tense and volatile verses towards an explosive chorus. Male vocal passages, layered backing vocals and a powerful rhythmic foundation intensify the sense of instability running throughout the song.

Lyrically, “Edge of Control” places the listener inside a mind approaching its breaking point. Rage, doubt, sleeplessness, and inner conflict take the form of a live grenade, a train running off the rails, a wildfire, and a hurricane spinning within its own pain. Rather than observing the loss of control from a distance, the song captures it from within, at the moment when thoughts become impossible to silence, and the hardest enemy to confront is yourself.

The single offers the first glimpse into the musical direction of Secret Rule’s upcoming album, expanding the role of modern breakdowns, electronic elements, cinematic arrangements, and contrasting vocal layers within the band’s established combination of modern metal and powerful melodies.

Andy Menario – Guitars, Composition and Arrangements:

“I wanted the song to feel modern, direct, and unpredictable while still sounding unmistakably like Secret Rule. The arrangement combines heavy riffs and breakdowns with electronic elements and cinematic layers, while the male vocal passages create an additional point of tension within the track. I believe that ‘Edge of Control’ is the song that best represents the direction of this new record.”

0 NEKOMATA’s New Single “Functional Beauty” Ignites The Band’s “Third Impact” Coming in 2027

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 28, 2026

NEKOMATA’s New Single “Functional Beauty” Ignites The Band’s “Third Impact” Coming in 2027

NEKOMATA enter a new era in their story with “Third Impact”, a new creative cycle that begins with “Functional Beauty”, the first single leading towards the band’s third chapter expected in 2027.

“Third Impact” builds on the musical identity NEKOMATA have developed across their previous releases while pushing its defining elements further. Modern metal, tightly controlled grooves and a strong melodic drive remain at the core of their sound, now opening towards a broader range of influences rooted in classic heavy metal.

The new chapter also continues the band’s distinctive “concept-non-concept” approach. Rather than following a strict narrative, its songs explore individual ideas and imagery that stand on their own while contributing to a broader thematic framework. Obsession, transformation, and the pursuit of ideals emerge among the themes explored through the cryptic perspective that characterizes NEKOMATA’s writing.

“Functional Beauty” provides the first expression of this direction, examining the obsessive pursuit of beauty, attraction and perfection. At the centre of the song is the image of a modern-day King Midas, consumed by the desire to make everything around him perfect. Instead of achieving the ideal he seeks, that pursuit gradually corrupts him, transforming him into a figure incapable of satisfaction and trapped by his own expectations.

Musically, “Functional Beauty” pushes several recognizable elements of the NEKOMATA sound further. Melody and tightly driven grooves meet heavy galloping passages, an immediate chorus, and a succession of solos and rhythmic breaks blending modern metal with classic heavy metal influences.

“Functional Beauty” is the first step into “Third Impact”, with more music and further details surrounding NEKOMATA’s third chapter to be revealed in the coming months.

BIOGRAPHY:

Nekomata is an Italian metal band… Are you curious to know what they sound like? They call it Power Core – and yeah, it means exactly what it sounds like. Heavy riffs, soaring melodies, metalcore aggression, death metal growls, cinematic electronics, and a bittersweet glam edge that hits you when you least expect it. No genre boxes, no compromises. They released their debut album “…And Then, The Abusement Park Left Town” in October 2022. Their debut album crossed the ocean: in December 2023 it landed in Japan via WARD Records, peaking at #36 on Amazon JP’s bestseller chart. In July 2024, they signed with Rockshots Records for their second album. “Euphoria” hit Japan in November 2024 via Rubicon Records, backed by two live shows in Tokyo before its worldwide release in January 2025. Since then, the band has accumulated more than half a million YouTube views across their official music videos. Two albums in three years, two countries like two sides of the same coin, with a third record already on its way. Just four years into their career, Nekomata is establishing itself as one of the most prolific Italian bands in the heavy and melodic metal scene – and they’re just getting started. Now it’s time for a new chapter… are you ready???

0 Blackened Thrashers ETERNAL DRAK Unleashes New Video “We Force It To Speak” + Quebec Tour Dates For Sixth Album “The Violence of Time” Out Now!

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 28, 2026

Blackened Thrashers ETERNAL DRAK Unleashes New Video “We Force It To Speak”

+ Quebec Tour Dates For Sixth Album “The Violence of Time” Out Now!

Eternal Drak has released the official music video for “We Force It To Speak”, taken from the band’s newly issued sixth album, “The Violence of Time.” The track, a dense and atmospheric black‑metal assault that opens up the record and embodies the album’s central thesis: that the human attempt to explain reality doesn’t clarify it; it distorts it.

“Trying to understand time doesn’t reveal it. It distorts it… Truth isn’t discovered. It’s enforced,” says the band.

The new video amplifies that tension, merging bleak imagery with the song’s shifting textures, from acoustic passages to suffocating walls of distortion, creating a visual and sonic immersion into Eternal Drak’s conceptual universe.

The video can be watched at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKSsZR39cYU

“The Violence of Time’ is a ten‑track exploration of time as a hostile force, not a neutral medium, but an active pressure that erodes memory, identity, and causality. The band frames time as something that “does not flow; it imposes… it does not reveal meaning; it destroys it.”

Musically, the album is built for old‑school metal devotees: those who crave the rawness of thrash, the darkness of black metal, and the severity of death metal. Eternal Drak’s evolution is on full display, from analog aggression to modern digital density. Each track is a conceptual “violent thesis,” demolishing traditional ideas of past, present, and future. Rather than telling stories, the songs function as reflections of a larger narrative: a short story written by Andres Martinez Torres (Drakar), the band’s main songwriter, about an individual who realizes that time cannot be described, only confronted.

Over the years, Eternal Drak has evolved from raw thrash‑and‑black foundations into a dynamic force shaped by death metal, groove, and even Latin folk influences. Their sound has grown alongside the metal scene itself, adapting to new tools and technologies while preserving the intensity and character that define the band.

About:

Eternal Drak is an extreme metal band based in Quebec City, Canada, originally founded in Latin America in the late ’90s. Rooted in a fierce blend of thrash and black metal, the band has continually expanded its sound with elements of death metal, groove, and melodic experimentation. Lyrically, Eternal Drak explores human and cosmic darkness, a theme present across all seven of its official releases. The band is currently signed to the Canadian label FirstWave.

Formed in 1997 by brothers Drakar and Warhammer, later joined by guitarist Reijav, Eternal Drak quickly gained recognition, winning a City TV award for Best Metal Video in the early 2000s. After releasing early EPs and their first full-length, the band went on hiatus in 2007.

In 2020, the members reunited in Quebec to create The Past Is Gone, A New One Is Coming, honoring co‑founder and drummer Eduardo “Warhammer” Martínez. This revival led to a prolific new era, including the albums Drak Metal (2021), Shadow Storm (2022), Imprisoned Souls (2024), and multiple EPs. The lineup later expanded with guitarist Mike Amyot and drummer Patrick Auger.

Today, Eternal Drak (featuring Andres Martinez Torres (Drakar) – Vocals, Lead Guitar, Bass, and Michel Amyot – Rhythm Guitar) continues to evolve while staying true to its extreme metal roots, driven by intensity, melody, and a commitment to pushing its sound across continents.

“Ultimately, Eternal Drak have created something truly remarkable here. They have taken a genre that often gets stuck in its own formulaic mud and used it to deliver a profound, deeply atmospheric, and heavy-as-hell exploration of human mortality. It is a record that manages to be simultaneously intellectually stimulating and physically punishing. It is a pure example of modern, thoughtful extreme metal. If you are ready to let a Latin-infused hurricane tear through your speakers and remind you of the terrifying fragility of your own existence, do yourself a massive favor: turn this up as loud as it goes and let the violence wash over you.” – The Black Metal Archives

“ETERNAL DRAK delivers a thought-provoking and crushing sixth album ”The Violence Of Time” that balances old-school extremity with philosophical ambition. STANDOUT TRACKS: ”The Blasphemy of Time”, ”Chaos Is the Law”, ”The Cosmos Rejects You”. 9/10″ – Metal Rager 666

“With “The Violence Of Time,” Eternal Drak deliver a well-thought-out, superbly produced, and surprisingly catchy blackened thrash album.” – Metalunderground.at

“This is some pretty good Blackened Thrash that has sick riffs, icy tremolos and eerie harmonies with some solos added to keep it interesting, add it to your lists. Rating: 8.1/10 – Drako Metal Reviews (The Violence of Time – 2026)

“10 new songs that will simultaneously brighten and darken your world… Eternal Drak evolve while staying true to their roots… you need to make time in your life to experience and enjoy the deathly screams and raucous riffs of Eternal Drak.” – The Razor’s Edge

“a really entertaining album that’s relatively accessible for the genre.” – The Metal Crypt

““The Violence Of Time” is focused, severe, and written with an old school extreme metal instinct, offering a cohesive attack with enough variation to hold attention across the full album.” – Heavy Metal Darkness

“another great sounding recording from Eternal Drak and if you are a fan of blackened thrash
metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE “We Force It To Speak” “The Blasphemy Of Time” “Where Cause Is Buried” and “The Cosmos Reject You”. 8 out of 10.” – Bringer of Death Webzine
