Canada’s One Man Melodic Black Metal MALICE DIVINE Video “Usurping The Paragon” Is Ready To Instigate The Mosh Pit At 218 BPM

New Album “Everlasting Ascendancy” Out Now!

Canada’s one-man melodic black metal Malice Divine helmed by guitarist Ric Galvez is ready to get fans going and prepped themselves for a live lineup coming soon!

Today, get ready for a quick smashing assault at 218 BPM with the latest video for “Usurping The Paragon” off the recently unleashed sophomore album “Everlasting Ascendancy”.

“The fastest song on the album, as well as the fastest Malice Divine song yet. This one will incite some insane mosh pits when performed live. This is also the most aggressive Malice Divine song yet as well. It has 3 guitar solos, the first of which was improvised in the studio. Lyrically the song is about becoming the best at what you do.” adds Galvez.

“Everlasting Ascendancy” is the second album from Canada’s one-man black metal project Malice Divine, following up their much acclaimed self-titled debut in 2021. Able to work freely without creative impediments, Ric Galvez has poured his passion into this album and it shows. A lot of the songs have complex song structures, but there is also a lot of catchiness and melody to make this album a very memorable listen, nonetheless. He shares his excitement for the release:

“I am incredibly excited to finally have the sophomore Malice Divine album “Everlasting Ascendancy” released into the world! With this album, I am aiming to have the listener feel empowered and inspired to go after what they want in life and not settle for less. The message of Malice Divine is one of empowerment and that message can be found throughout all 8 tracks on “Everlasting Ascendancy” in some shape or form. I poured my heart and soul into this album, which will be apparent both musically and lyrically. Despite the music obviously being extreme metal, that doesn’t stop me from writing about very personal matters. All in all, I am incredibly proud of this album, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

“Everlasting Ascendancy” is a dynamic experience while also being an overall more aggressive album than the first one, especially in the vocal delivery. There are still plenty of melody and classical guitar sections, which is a major part of Malice Divine’s sound. The solos on this album are even more virtuosic than before as well.

All songs on “Everlasting Ascendancy” were written by Galvez who enlisted session drummer Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Birds of Bellwoods, Co-Host We’re Talkin Drums, Overkill Reviewer Banger TV) to hammer them out. The album was produced and mixed by Tyler Williams (Sludgehammer, Monolithic Productions) and mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Scale The Summit). The album artwork was done by Eka Saputra (Psychopart).

Malice Divine intends to deliver a listening experience that is highly memorable and one that will leave the listener feeling empowered and wanting to listen to it again and again. They are recommended for fans of Watain, Thulcandra, and Dissection.

“Everlasting Ascendancy” was released on January 27, 2023.

About: Toronto, Canada’s Malice Divine is a solo project conceived by Ric Galvez, who had always had the dream of being the leader of his own project. He wanted to expand beyond being known as just a lead guitarist, into also being known as a songwriter, vocalist, and frontman. Ric has played in local bands previously and was a contestant on Banger TV’s Shredders of Metal Seasons 1 & 2.

Ric has a major in music from York University, and through Malice Divine he shows off his vocal, guitar, and bass prowess. His lyrics are inspired by psychology, spirituality, as well as personal experiences that involve the overcoming of obstacles and hardships, using the resulting verses as a form of empowerment.

The second offering from Malice Divine, entitled “Everlasting Ascendancy”, will be released in early 2023. Once again it features Ric Galvez on Vocals, Guitars, & Bass, as well as Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Banger TV) playing session drums. Malice Divine is also currently transitioning from being a solo project into being a band effort, and is set to start performing live in 2023. What people can expect from seeing Malice Divine live is highly aggressive black and death metal-inspired music, with shreddy and virtuosic guitar solos that add a melodic layer that isn’t common in the genre.

Malice Divine’s sophomore album “Everlasting Ascendancy” is set to be released on January 27th, 2023.

“This is one of the first albums to come out this year and it is this strong. So as we gather our thoughts for AOTY 2022, an early contender for 2023 kicked this year off right! This album is essential. You’re welcome!” – Metal-Rules

“Loud, fast, and aggressive but with a shed load of melody. Ric Galvez, I salute you and take a bow to Dylan Gowan for a world-class performance and producer Tyler Williams for capturing the immense sounds. My only criticism would be that some of the songs are maybe a tad too long but that’s only because I probably don’t have the stamina I once did. The songs are well constructed and although the vocals may be an acquired taste, they fit the music. This is a killer album – so if you like melodic death metal – put your hand in your pocket! You won’t be disappointed.” – My Global Mind

“Slaves of shred will have another reason to bow down in 2023 because Toronto-based Malice Divine will be releasing their second album Everlasting Ascendancy on January 27th. As lots of people already know, the man behind this project — Ric Galvez — has made a name for himself as a guitar virtuoso, and if anything, he elevates his skill to even greater heights on Everlasting Ascendancy. But as the album’s title track that we’re premiering today (through a lyric video) demonstrates quite convincingly, the songs aren’t just excuses to show off, but are instead well-crafted pieces that display dynamism, inspiring melodies, and the kind of hard-charging ferocity that creates primal reactions.” – NoCleanSinging

“The solos and those vocals just emit black metallic sparks and they eat into my ear canals. Watain and Dissection merge here with his own style. An explosive mix does the honors and every track is a feast. “Eight songs long” always surprising variety. A very successful album. A uniform porridge was absolutely not touched here. The cover is like an invitation card. “Come and listen to this beast”. A great start to my first review of the year.” – Hellfire-Magazin

“Everlasting Ascendancy” is a good melodic thrash/death album in the tradition of Carcass, Children Of Bodom or Arch Enemy, punchy, energetic, pleasant and well executed, driven by a devastating passion… A good record whose dark and varied ambiences, cavalcades punctuated by moments of bravery make the pleasure born. The essential is there!” – Music Waves

“Malice Divine hop back and forth between coming off like a death metal band doing covers of stuff they’ve recorded as a black metal band and coming off like a black metal band doing covers of stuff they’re recorded as a death metal band.”- Decibel Magazine

Canadian shredders STRIKER are excited to share the news that they have entered the studio to work on their seventh album with producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Tallah, King 810). The yet-to-be-titled album follows the band’s singles “Strange Love” (2022) and “Death Wish” (2021), which will be featured on the record that follows their Juno Award-winning self-released full-length “Play to Win” (2018) (Record Breaking). The forthcoming album will also feature the band’s latest lineup addition of long-time friend and guitarist John Simon Fallon (The Order of Chaos).

The band comments:

“We have arrived at shred central in Midland, MI. We’ll be spending the next 5 weeks WITH Josh Schroeder who will essentially be our 6th band member for the creative process. We are stoked to get into the studio with HIM. We are looking to do something different sonically with this album, more extreme, more over the top, and more punishing and we think he’s the right man for the job. It’s going to be a bit of an experiment for us but we are ready to push out of our comfort zone and lay down some caveman riffs and bigger hooks. Stay tuned for more updates and don’t forget to check out our Patreon for exclusive content!”

In additional news, STRIKER is confirmed to perform this summer in Europe at Bloodstock Festival in the UK and Headbangers Open Air in Germany. Canadian fans can also check out STRIKER at this year’s Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver on April 14th at The Fox Cabaret.

Canada’s PHAETON’s Dramatic Progressive Metal Emerges With Playthrough For Single “Monsoon”

Phaeton is interplanetary instrumental heavy prog metal hailing from the West coast of Canada. Like their name suggests, they are fascinated with astronomy, and the idea of life itself, in all its beauty and wonder and majesty, emerging from an instant of catastrophic cosmic violence. Their dramatic music emerges from the void in thrilling bursts and unexpected turns in their second album “Between Two Worlds” and the first single “Monsoon”. The band shares their excitement for the single and what fans can expect:

“Daniel brought this one into the band and proves that he’s the Canadian King of the Killer Riff. After the kickoff crunch riffs set the mood, here comes a spooky halftime riff with a spookier guitar lead on it, and then another Killer Riff in quasi-swung time stabs out of the speakers. If Kevin is Phaeton’s version of a traditional Classical Composer (mind you, one with a 7-string Ibanez), then Daniel is our Classic Metalhead (one with a 7-string Schechter). Whereas Kevin’s songwriting style usually threads a string of different interlocking themes, Daniel knows how to capture the ears of even non-prog listeners by repeating the familiar themes, albeit with slightly different punctuations which are, to use formal musical terminology – Hella Cool.”

Phaeton strives to deliver an attention-focused listening experience. One drenched in joy and wonder and the emotional, visceral release that only prog-metal can deliver. And the lack of lyrical interference only allows the listener the better opportunity to let their imaginations run wild with the music, drifting emotionally away on the solar winds to wherever they wish to soar.

Listeners of Phaeton will find a unique twist on progressive metal, which they define on their own, song after song. They are recommended for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, and King Crimson.

Watch and listen to “Monsoon” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

“Between Two Worlds” is due out April 21st, 2023, and available for pre-order at Phaetonband.bandcamp.com

Out Now! Abaddonia’s Witchy, Occult Tendencies Take Shape On Debut EP “Dawn of the Serpent”

New Music Video For Title Track

L-R – The Reaper – Brendan Luetkenhaus (Guitar), The Possessed – Branden O’Neill (Vocalist), The Plague – Zach Neisius (Guitar), The Wendigo – Billy Jordan (Drums), Not pictured: The Cultist – Isaak Clarkson (Bass)

And so it is written, the dawn of a new era engulfs the horizon. The abyss swallows the Sun, and all its light illuminates. Mortifer, hell-bent on the eradication of all that is unjust and uninspiring, will rise above what remains. The darkness belongs to the new land: Abaddonia. Hailing from the Midwest, USA, this deathcore act got together back in 2019 and after pandemic delays are ready to release their debut EP “Dawn of the Serpent” produced by Chris Wiseman (Shadow of Intent).

“Dawn of the Serpent” is, to an extent, an opening and closing of a chapter for Abaddonia. They had pieces of what remained on this EP back when they started, but thanks to the pandemic, things were indefinitely put on hold. They shifted from a personal-lyric project that focused on personal aspects to embracing that tarot, witchy, dark stuff that they were using their branding for. “Dawn of the Serpent” marks a new horizon beyond what they once viewed as their horizon. They comment:

“We are elated to be unveiling our debut musical compilation “Dawn of the Serpent”. With this, we hope to bring music that can be used interchangeably throughout the day. We hope that people can listen to every single track at their altars, at the gym, at work through their headphones, anything. We want to offer something polished, but still containing some raw elements. Storytelling, but with emotion. This album helped us find our identity, and we hope to accurately tell that story to all of our followers.”

Abaddonia says that they think this is a great starting point for them and that there are definite building blocks rooted in the foundation of this EP that will carry into their more solidified sound as they grow into it. Atmospheric, brooding, and unique “Dawn of the Serpent” offers a wide, but consistent sound that is consumable to a diverse audience, but is also something capable of being held sacred to a particular niche of metal-heads into occult vibes. It is recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, and Aversions Crown.

“Dawn of the Serpent” is now available as of March 3rd, 2023 on all digital platforms at https://linktr.ee/abaddonia and Abaddonia.bandcamp.com

Israel’s Neolia chooses to float in a space where a balance between nirvana and chaos coexists. They create a wild and mystic energy field with their music by incorporating rock/metal with different elements, mostly from Latin and African music. They are releasing their self-titled debut album this coming May 2023 and plan to tour with it internationally while constantly exploring new creative ways to increase their connection with their audience and supporters.

The video for “Blow The Leaves” is now available on YouTube at https://youtu.be/kcsOO7tCf-Y

Spotify – https://spoti.fi/41x1k1j

Musically, the album is a reflection of years of soaking up music of different genres from rock to pop to world music and whatnot. It’s a fusion of bits upon bits of pieces absorbed and processed and then spat out from a personal perspective. In its musical aspect, it’s rock and metal based, but with a twist of African, Latin, Jazz, and ambient that reaches the spectrum of high and low, tender, extreme, and crazy. The band explains the album further:

The way the music combines with the lyrics is parallel in the sense that it doesn’t tell the story that inspired it in a chronological way, but as a puzzle where the character, Alex, reflects upon fractions of his life, from different phases. We don’t know where Alex ends up in his life, but we do know where he has been, and what he goes through in each place. Each track gives us a glimpse into Alex’s life and describes a certain scene, a thought process, or an emotional conflict from childhood to adulthood. He gets shoved to the margins of society, and follows a long and harsh way in search of purpose and communication with the people around him.”

Neolia formed to give to others and to encourage people to come together (A connection between souls). They formed to give showcase their art in a few dimensions, one that’s personal, and spiritual and the other that is musical and expressive.

Recommended listening for fans of The Mars Volta, Sikth, and Mudvayne, the self-titled album was mastered by Howie Weinberg (Metallica, Pantera, Nirvana) an due out on May 5th, 2023.

Get ready for more death, more black, and more thrash from Swedish supergroup Ironmaster and their forthcoming album “Weapons Of Spiritual Carnage” due out April 28th, 2023 via Black Lion Records. The full length is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut “Thy Ancient Fire” (February 2022).

Featuring current and ex-members of Dark Funeral, Scar Symmetry, Raubtier, Carnal Forge, and Facebreaker, this strong follow-up album is a natural continuation of the path taken on the band’s debut record. More powerful and faster than ever at times, but the flow of the full-length has been the focal point of the whole writing and recording process. Everything has been done with the full album listening experience in mind. Get ready to headbang it heavy and hard from beginning to end for a memorable audible mosh pit.

Edvin Skårud wrote all the lyrics (except for one song) on this record, his dark and masterful lyrics deal with death, cruelty and the dark side of life, and the blackness of one’s soul.

Today, Ironmaster presents the lyric video for the album’s second single “Monolithic Suppressor Engaged” – https://youtu.be/SqHzJ8FFftw

The band adds about the track:

“This Black-Thrash song on the album has some King Diamond inspired guitar in the chorus that’s a bit unusual for us, but adds an evil flavor to the whole thing.”

“Weapons Of Spiritual Carnage” was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Blacklounge Studios between May 2021 and October 2022 by Jonas Kjellgren. The album is now available for pre-order via Black Lion Records at https://ironmasterblacklion.bandcamp.com/album/weapons-of-spiritual-carnage

Seek The Beauty In The Little Things With Video “Destination Woe” From SHORES OF NULL

New Album “The Loss Of Beauty” Out March 2023

EU Tour w/ Swallow The Sun, Draconian, Avatarium

Shores of Null, from Rome, Italy has been ensnaring doom metal fans around the world for years with their particular blend of doom metal, one that ebbs and flows with melancholy, soothing vocal harmonies, and epic guitar work. Their latest work “The Loss Of Beauty” is their fourth album and the single “Destination Woe” is the fourth single and the opening track. The band comments on the personal intricacies of the song:

“The lyrics take inspiration from the aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi, which in Japanese culture consists of the appreciation of all that is imperfect, impermanent, incomplete, and transient. This is actually a recurrent theme throughout the entire album. Beauty can also be intangible, like it can be a childhood memory or a pleasant episode in our life that will never come back, thus giving us a feeling of melancholy. Nothing is forever and we must be aware that everything comes to an end, in this perspective everything that is ephemeral becomes even more beautiful.”

Since their well-received debut album “Quiescence”, Shores of Null has been refining their sound and putting the emphasis on melodies. With the sophomore “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” they brought in more complex structures and with “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” they took the doomier, heavier, and darkest aspect of their sound and poured it into a 38-minute track. “The Loss Of Beauty” continues where “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” left off, initially conceived to be the band’s third album and preserved until today. Stylistically, it is melancholic dark metal with an assorted palette of genres.

Recommended for any and all doom fans, especially fans of Borknagar, Paradise Lost, and Amorphis, “The Loss Of Beauty” releases on March 24, 2023.

About: Shores of Null stand out from their contemporaries with their ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into their sound, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time: blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic yet majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

The Rome-based metal band has been an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013, churning out three impressive records: the melodic and somber “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014), the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), and finally their most ambitious work to date “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” (Spikerot Records, 2020), a 38-minute long opus which continues to prove the band’s willingness to go off the beaten path while creating their ultimate doom manifesto.

The band’s fourth album “The Loss Of Beauty”, recorded during the same sessions of “Beyond The Shores”, is expected to be released in March of 2023.

Shores of Null continues to impress and expand upon their doomy sound. An epic-length track worthy to sit amongst the best of these ventures (Edge of Sanity, Insomnium). Emotionally fulfilling and musically satisfying all at once.” – Dead Rhetoric (Best-of 2020)

“this album definitely is one of the best Doom Metal pieces I had the pleasure to look at in 2020. Once you plunge into its astonishing flow, there will be no escape from that majestic march through soaring soundscapes to those tear-drenched horizons.” – Rock Music Raider (Best of 2020)

“it’s certainly ambitious (video for “Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying)”), but if you have the time, it’s worth the watch. Steeped in quality and excellent videography, it definitely deserves the attention for the amount of effort used.” – Metal Injection

“Shores of Null rolled the dice with Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying) and delivered in a big fucking way… Shores of Null have crafted something special; a heart-wrenchingly emotive and beautiful journey of sorrow, anguish, pain, and acceptance. Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying) is a splendidly sombre, brilliantly written opus of commanding death-doom that demands attention.” – Teeth of The Divine

“this album is phenomenal, both in terms of concept and its monumental delivery… with this magnum opus [Shores Of Null] have proved their position front and centre as depressed doom-titans…” – The Sleeping Shaman

“Beyond The Shores (On Death and Dying)” is a near perfect, monumental achievement of doom. I can’t imagine any fan of the style not finding something here to enjoy.” – Metal Temple

“An enchanting, gloomy opus.” – Moshville Times

“A single track of incredibly well-realised melodic doom metal, layered with all sorts of treats and nuanced delivery.” – Wonderbox Metal

“A piece of delicious despair, delivered on a platter of storm-ridden and excellently executed Doom Metal. A record that left anybody else in the genre in 2020 quaking in their wake.” – Rock Music Raider

“their most intricate and brooding work to date… grandiose emotional impact.” – Metal Storm

Based out of Sacramento, California, USA, Lunar is a progressive metal band who have released three albums thus far, with their fourth out on March 3rd. Chock-full of epic riffs and technical details, Lunar’s “The Illusionist” featuring album guests Jørgen Munkeby (Shining), Christian Münzner (Obscura), Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est), Taylor Washington (Paladin), Sam Vallen (Caligula’s Horse), Ben Karas (Thank You Scientist), Gleb Kanasevich, and Patrick Corona is a magical concept album that pairs creative metaphors with relatable life occurrences. According to the band, this is the best album they’ve done so far and they anticipate it to be the fan favorite. Each song sounds different from the rest, but together they are cohesive listening from front to back. The band continues to explain:

“We are so excited to finally be able to present our new album, “The Illusionist,” to the world! This album has taken so many twists and turns for us. Despite how difficult it was for us to finish this album, we couldn’t be more proud of it! This album has the best songwriting and production of any Lunar album to date. There is such a wide variety of sounds and influences, but also the album flows seamlessly from one song to another. And, once again, there is a huge list of amazing guest appearances from members of Obscura, Caligula’s Horse, Paladin, Emperor, Thank You Scientist, and more!”

“The Illusionist” is a concept album that tells the story of a magician that questions his entire life’s work. He’s spent his entire life devoting himself to his craft and now he questions if it was worth it. Lunar believes this is a concept many people can relate to, especially those who have careers in some kind of artistic field. Musically, the album goes through many stages as the character does on this journey of himself. There are songs that are angry, songs that are confused, songs that are depressed, and everywhere in between.

Lunar prides itself on writing music that is important to them and that they personally enjoy. It is recommended for fans of Devin Townsend, Opeth, and Katatonia

“The Illusionist” is being released on March 3, 2023, via Saibot Reign Records and before it officially drops, its album stream premiere can be heard on MetalInsider HERE.

“This is a record that everyone must own. Every generation and every country should adore an album like this, as one like Theogony rarely makes itself known. If you like music and consider it art, this is a must.” – Prog-Sphere on “Theogony” #23 Best Albums of 2017

“The sophomore album from this Cali band is showing the band expanding their horizons in sound. The heavy parts are heavier, the lighter parts are even lighter and the proggier parts are even more insanely proggy *plus on the song, Surrender, there is a very cool nod to the final lasting riff in Opeth’s Deliverance to close out the track…don’t think I didn’t catch that!* With all of the guest appearances, fantastic production and just masterful songwriting, this is one of the strongest prog albums you will hear all year. Trust me!” – Heavy Debriefings on “Eidolon” #39 Best Albums of 2019

“Inspired by a tragedy that befell the project in the way of losing guitarist Ryan Erwin, drummer and songwriter Alex Bosson has put his emotions towards honing a release that is as beautiful as angry. Helping him in his vision are guest contributions from members of Haken, Leprous, Thank You Scientist, Fallujah, etc.” – Prog-Sphere on “Eidolon” #19 Best Albums of 2019

“The word “classic” gets tossed around a lot, but I honestly can’t think of a better word for Eidolon. From front to back and top to bottom, this album is both firmly rooted in death metal with a progressive bend while standing alone atop the mountain. It’s equally headbanging heavy and enthralling, music to get in the mosh pit and simply sit in awe of. This is required listening because there’s nothing else quite like it.” – Progarchy on “Eidolon”

“Like Theogony, Eidolon is another very impressive showcase of modern progressive metal. It’s technical, emotional, melodic, and aggressive and is just very well put-together overall.” – wimpsandposers.com

RivetSkull Launches ZeroHate Merch Line With New Video “Narcissus” – Proceeds Donated To Metal for Good

New Album Out Now! “Trail of Souls: Samsara”

L-R – Mark X. Plog (Guitar), Chad McMurray (Vocals), Mark Hopkins (Bass), Michael Robson (Drums)

Releasing the re-imagined full-length “Trail of Souls: Samsara” this past July, Seattle and Los Angeles-based heavy metal four-piece RivetSkull are sharing a new lyric video for the track “Narcissus”. Along with its unveiling, the band is launching a merch line called “Zero Hate” (https://www.rivetskull.com/zerohate) where proceeds from sales will be donated to a non-profit called Metal for Good, which uses the positive values of rock, metal, and other alternative subcultures to make a positive difference in communities. More info can be found at https://metalforgood.org/about/

The band comments on both the track and Zero Hate Merch.

“We chose “Narcissus” as its lyrics decry hateful people, their leadership, speech, and violence. It shines the light on world leaders who convince others to do their bidding, regardless of cost. We like to make a difference and heavy metal has always been a refuge, RivetSkull is committed to working toward a world of #ZEROHATE. 100% of the profits from RivetSkull’s ZERO HATE merch line will be donated to Metal for Good to help support programs that change lives through the collective power and support of the heavy metal community.”

The video “Narcissus” can be seen and heard via its premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

“Trail of Souls: Samsara” is a complete re-recording of the band’s self-published 2020 album “Trail of Souls”. After self-recording and releasing their debut album during the global pandemic, RivetSkull revisited their songs with professional production that captures the massive sound that fans have come to expect from their live shows.

The band comments on re-recording and re-releasing the album:

“Our current sound is a petri dish of our combined experiences up until now: the things we’ve listened to, the things we’ve played… Trail of Souls: Samsara is a re-recording of our self-recorded/ self-produced 2020 album Trail of Souls. This time around, we recorded it organically, all together in one room at London Bridge Studio. A really good studio produces a really good sound: it’s either tuned that way professionally or it’s evolved that way through history. You work differently in that type of environment, it elevates the performance…It’s like if a doctor is doing surgery in their living room, they’re not going to perform as well.

“Trail of Souls: Samsara” has an epic, yet nostalgic feel. Lyrically, vocalist Chad McMurray writes from the heart about things people can relate to, nothing is contrived. RivetSkull isn’t trying to write a certain kind of song and they’re not trying to portray a certain image. They’re not trying to be a tough, brutal band. They’re just normal guys who like metal, much like it was in the 70s – 80s. “I don’t know, maybe we need to bring cod pieces back?” jokes McMurray.

Recorded at London Bridge Studio (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Queensrÿche) and produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Deftones, Seether), “Trail of Souls: Samsara” promises much more than a sonic retouch of the original. The reworked collection features new cover artwork and a previously unreleased recording of a cover of Aerosmith’s “King and Queens.”

RivetSkull keeps it classic and is recommended for fans of Judas Priest, Def Leppard, and Armored Saint.

“Trail of Souls: Samsara” was released on July 8, 2022, and is available on all digital platforms at the following link – https://lnk.to/TrailOfSoulsSamsara

About:
It would be easy to call RivetSkull a traditional heavy metal band, but they’re so much more than that. RivetSkull has taken the very roots of heavy metal and forged it into something new and fresh. Spawned from the same DNA that created the beasts that roamed the dark valleys of Birmingham, the foothills of the Cascades, and the plains of Texas, there’s no denying RivetSkull’s heavy metal heritage. This is hard-hitting music blasted over record store chatter, the buzzing of a tattoo gun, or the revving of a motorcycle engine. But, as any metalhead will tell you, heavy metal is more than just a genre: it’s therapy, it’s community, it’s a style – and it’s a movement. And it’s always evolving.

RivetSkull has created a modern sound that’s as unique as each member’s influences, from punk to country, from alternative to funk. Listening to RivetSkull, it’s easy to envision the band’s live show: Chad McMurray’s clean vocals soaring over a sea of bobbing bodies in black band t-shirts, Mark X. Plog’s boundary-defying guitar ascending over raised beers and outstretched metal horns, Michael Robson’s emphatic drums and Mark Hopkins’ booming bass rattling the bones beneath black jeans and denim vests. Like good metal – you’ll feel it in your core as much as you’ll hear it in your ears. All of this is brought to you by a dedicated and hard-working band of brothers. They are RivetSkull and they’re bringing the past into the future.
