“Lord Ov Thornes” Out Nov 20th

King Ov Wyrms comes from the vision of Michael Sanchez (Pain Patterns, ex-Judicator) out of Tucson, Arizona. The project was formed in 2015 when Sanchez was intrigued to explore his more aggressive side of metal. He loves the music he’s been creating with his main band Pain Patterns, but felt it was time to act on his inner urges to fulfill his desire for a purely aggressive musical venture.

The project went through various lineup changes only to be consistently held together by Sanchez, which lead him to completely write and record all of the songs as a full lineup along with the vocals. Having studied classical music and jazz to a degree while growing up, these gave him the tools to write comfortably on his own even in the concept of metal music. The end result, five years in the making is debut full length “Lord Ov Thornes”. Featuring lyrical themes encompassing the occult and a deep love for Lovecraftian horror, the record is an abusive assault of aggressive music with elements of old school death intertwined with black metal set to be unleashed on November 20th.

Before the eight tracks are unshackled, Lambgoat is hosting the debut album’s full stream premiere HERE.

Band founder Sanchez adds:

“King Ov Wyrms is such a massive grim beast of Blackened Death metal that I’ve been dying to bring forth to the world for years, to finally see this project come together even if it’s just being held together by myself at this point is just beyond fulfilling. Everything about this band has been just more or less a mere rumor amongst the southwestern metal scene until now, so many people would stop me at Pain Patterns and even Judicator shows and would ask me about this “new death metal project” I’ve been working on and such, but now I can finally present it on a grand scale and not just some burner CDs like I’ve done in the past of these scraped demos.

Lord Ov Thornes is an album that to me, attempts to bridge a gap between the earliest forms of death and black to a more modern approach of metal production, almost like taking Morbid Angel’s “Formulas Fatal To The Flesh” and mashing it with Sulphur Aeons “Gateway To The Antisphere”. These brutal compositions that have been in the works for several years are finally ready to surface from their grim depths and inspire a new wave of death metallers.”

Recommended for fans of Enthroned, Vader, and Dark Funeral, King Ov Wyrms will no doubt intrigue metal fans around the world with this debut, which will be available for download and stream on Kingovwyrms.bandcamp.com and Spotify as of November 20th.

“Fury does indeed radiate from the music in violent waves. The song (Thorne Bearer) takes flight through rapid-fire drum battery and deep, dismal, heaving tremolo’d riffing that climbs and flares in manifestations of madness and misery, and squalls in blasts of vicious, mauling cruelty. Sanchez contributes his own vocals to the melee, venting horrid growls and scorching screams, which add to the music’s enraged and ferocious striking power. The song’s urgent pace never relents, but the drum patterns morph, as do the riffs, which feverishly squirm and flail as well as jolt and jar in savage, pulsing fashion. The jet-fueled energy and barbarous intensity of the music are both intense and captivating, and they’re joined in the red zone by sensations of rage and maniacal menace.” – No Clean Singing

“some beautiful, new extremity from King Ov Wyrms! Be on the lookout for their forthcoming album “Lord Ov Thornes”” – The Circle Pit

“Nothing short of an aural assault of pure mayhem……” – Permafrost Today

You can be sitting at home, driving to work, anything and have the opportunity to turn on this album and be transported to a wonderful land outside of the boundaries of our reality.” – Connor McCray – Vis Mystica

“Vis Mystica is a very interesting power metal band from Pennsylvania. Listening to this group is like finding an oasis in the middle of the driest desert. Although one of its main characteristics is that its music is based on the Star Wars universe, it is fair to say that its music shines by itself and it is not for less, since its influences are not found in its local scene, not even in its country.” – Metal-Rules.com

“Offering escapism from everyday life, Vis Mystica transports listeners into a fantastical world of magical powers and epic stories with their Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic inspired Power Metal. Along with taking great influence from other bands, they possess a style that is unique and holds its own in the power metal landscape.” – Bloodynews.ro

=================================================

The EP as a whole:

Celestial Wisdom is a fantastical journey into a world full of mystic powers and sprawling landscapes, with a classic “Good vs. Evil” battle and many memorable locations and detailed stories.

Track by track explained:

Whispering Winds of Fate:
As the intro song and shortest song on the EP I made Winds a sort of guide to the main world in where our story takes place; Tython.

This song describes the sentient world calling out telepathically to beings spread throughout the galaxy to board 9 ships and come bask in the planet’s knowledge and secrets.

Legacy of the Builders:
Builders is a more cynical track that introduces our villains; the brutal Rakatan Empire. This song outlines the arrogance of this race and their quest for not only dominance, but their desire to be truly immortal and have a galaxy of slaves to build monuments to their glory and dominance.

The Plains of Silence:
Plains take us back to Tython to the Silent Desert; where all sound is nullified and students can meditate on the power of the world. This was the first song

I wrote for the EP and definitely has a much more “Happy” feel than many of the other songs I’ve written.

Lux Et Veritas:
Lux is another kind of “happy” song but the lyrics tell a completely different story. This song is based on the prisoner Daegen Lok; who was exiled for prophecizing a coming war between the Rakatans and the people of Tython.

Beyond the Gates of Fury:
The final song on the album is, fittingly, the most “Furious”. Fury deals with the final battle between the Rakatans and Tythonians and culminates with the fulfillment of the prophecy that was first spoken of in Lux Et Veritas. This is the end of our first tale but leads directly into the next story arc we will be writing about.

STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS

1. When contacting Jonas Heidgert about singing on the album, he offhandedly mentioned his love of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic without knowing that the entire album was based around it.

2. Connor had actually enquired about joining David Michael Moote’s band, Operus, in 2018; long before he asked him to sing on the EP.

3. Devin has numerous side projects of various spoof varieties, most notably Narwhal Bloodbath and their first single “Sketti ‘N Butter”

4. Despite the band’s very Star Wars-oriented music and lyrics, Connor is an obsessive Lord of the Rings fan and has numerous tattoos based on the Tolkien novels.

From Salt Lake City, Utah, Arsenic Addiction was formed in 2006. “Music resembles life, and such as life, no one influence shapes who we are today, and who we will be tomorrow.”

Arsenic Addiction released their first EP, “Requiem of the Fallen” in 2009 and received extensive radio play and features in local media. “The most important thing about these songs,” according to SLUG MAGAZINE, “is they’re all backed with real emotion because in the end, who really wants to listen to a band pretend to be angry and sorrowful when you can get the real deal.” They then toured widely in Utah and neighboring states, sharing the stage with bands such as The Birthday Massacre, Stolen Babies, Dommin, and FLAW.

The band’s second release, “An Undertaker’s Lament” followed in August 2010, with the trademark Arsenic Addiction mourning metal lyrical and musical storytelling and Gothic Victorian attire. To take it a step further a Victorian meets Vaudeville stage show accompanies their live performances. “An Undertaker’s Lament” has had local and international features and reviews and receives regular airplay throughout the Western United States on the internet and physical radio as well as international. “It is mournfully violent metal that has the chameleon-like ability to interest fans of different genres.” The band has also filmed an official music video for song “Lady Death” to add a touch of their live shows to the music for fans lovingly referred to as “addicts” worldwide.

In 2012, Arsenic Addiction opened for national acts Sepultura, Death Angel, Krisiun, and Havok and released the album “Echoes of Mourning: Communion with the Damned” and set out on their “Brewtalitea Tour” in the northwestern US.

After a small break and a few member rotations in 2015, the band released their single ‘Black Mirror’, and in 2017 broke their two-year silence to open for international acts Lamb of God and Behemoth.

In 2018, the band enter the studio with Beast Recordings to work on unleashing their next album entitled “XIX”. The third full length was unleashed on September 23, 2019. With this latest record, the band gave listeners an experience of one’s journey of another’s love, sadness, anger, and pain. The release was planned to be laid out to feel as though you have walked in on the solitary practice of a witch, her life, her experiences, her secrets, her black rites.  Example with the lead single ‘Tomb of Sleep’, which is meant to feel aggressive, dark, and a look inside the witch’s feelings of hopelessness and loss.

The band adds:

“This album is the longest we’ve spent writing and recording any one album, as we decided to focus on its quality rather than putting out an album for the release of an albums sake. Five years of hard work, late nights, band lineup changes, and dedication. We think that people who have been our fans since the beginning will see the massive growth we have accomplished as a band. We think some fans will love and appreciate this growth while others may see it as too much of a departure from our previous albums. We are okay with both as we will continue to grow and evolve in a way that is fitting for who we are now and not who or what we were.”

“XIX” is available on Arsenicaddiction.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.

Drive Into Speedy Thrashing Heavy Metal With Lyonen’s “Hard To Destroy” Off “This is Lyonen”

Tato Rivas – Guitarist and Producer – Photo Credit: Barbara Gomez

Hailing from Venezuela, Lyonen is the solo project from the mind of Luis Rivas. A clean and fresh take on classic heavy metal, Rivas intends to take the metal world by storm through his music.

Today, Rivas shares the video for “Hard To Destroy” off the debut album “This is Lyonen” released this past August. The track is a mix of sounds, from heavy metal to thrash. Rivas composed this instrumental song full of energy because he wanted to transmit power, as we are all-powerful machines that are hard to destroy, simple as that.

Watch the video for “Hard To Destroy” via YouTube HERE.

“This is Lyonen” was recorded by Rivas as the sole musician, engineer, and producer for the entire release, aside from session vocals by Craig Cairns on certain tracks along with Jose Vegas on bass for “No Borders” and Javi One doing drums on “2 Hours to Go”. Originally fifteen tracks were recorded, but only eleven were kept on the release, some with lyrics and others that are instrumental. This was a challenge for Rivas, but overall a very satisfying experience for him. He explains further:

“In this album, I’ve been focusing on my own experiences, my ups, and downs, and most importantly how to achieve your goals with confidence. It comes from my thoughts from years ago, and most of the songs were composed years back. It is important to mention that I am from Venezuela, a Hispanic country, my native language is Spanish, but since I was a kid, I’ve been listening to music in English, it sounds natural for me despite it sometimes being hard when it is time to write your own lyrics in this language, however, I keep learning and reading to improve my writing.”

Recommended for fans of Stratovarius, Joe Satriani, and Metallica, “This is Lyonen” is available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Lyonen.com/music.

Fans can expect more music from Lyonen in the near future as Rivas is working on recording the follow-up album.

About:

Music is energy – Luis Rivas said so. Music composer and Creator of the band “Lyonen,” Luis Rivas – nicknamed Tato Rivas – spent a significant part of his life devoted to music production in the genres of Metal and Rock. When it comes to the genre of metal, music requires a whole new level of involvement. “I started playing in 1995, and I have not stopped since,” Tato said.

Tato Rivas was born in Caracas, capital of Venezuela, spent his childhood listening to popular metal bands, and moved to Maryland, United States in 2016 for professional reasons and now he is getting ready to fulfill his dreams in the music industry and build his name. It has been a lifelong goal of him to find opportunities in music career – therefore, his unstoppable passion is getting closer to that moment.

Luis graduated in Audio Engineering in 2003 with four years of Study of Music, including Classical Guitar. With currently working as a Multimedia Producer, Luis has additional insight into the world of music videos and photography – which landed him the Promax BDA Award doing Promotion Audio Mixing for a TV Station and other awards as Director of a Documentary short film.

In 2017, Luis started his one-person project like a metal band named Lyonen, which produces music in the forms of Heavy Metal, Power Metal, and Rock. His profound influence in metal icons like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Helloween, Joe Satriani, Stratovarius, and much more motivated him to hold his position gracefully as a Guitarist, Music Producer, Composer, and Audio Engineer for his band Lyonen.

So far, Tato has been passionate about Heavy Metal, but he aims to produce music in other genres, such as Pop, Classical, and more. Tato Rivas – under the name of Lyonen – is all set for releasing his much-anticipated Debut Album named “This is Lyonen,” which is scheduled to release on 13th August 2020 on all mainstream music platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Youtube Music, Deezer, and many more.

Highly recommended!” – Sentinel Daily

===============================================

Tanagra has a new single coming out entitled “Seas of Glass”, this serves as a small jolt for the band music-wise, but ultimately fans will still hear the distinctive Tanagra sound coming through.

Like much of their music, “Seas of Glass” tells a story about change through the eyes of a lone protagonist. The first half of the single is calm and sounds almost like it’s from the ’70s, maybe a bit of Hotel California; as the protagonist remembers why he came to the island. He has a nagging feeling that this existence, despite its comfort, isn’t right. As we make our way to the solo the desire to return to the sea is overtaking who he was when he came to the island. By the time we’ve been pounded by a driving riff and solo, he’s come to the realization that he’s in control of the elements. The only thing stopping him from enjoying the battering of the seas is himself; and that gives him the strength to once again venture into the storm. The storms don’t matter, the raging seas are nothing to him; they are just as if they are calm waters. Tanagra shares their thoughts on the single:

“‘Seas of Glass’ is a passionate retort to the ill-fortunes the band has suffered in recent years. Built from the raw emotions of the loss of members and the twin deathblows threatened by Covid and Nagra; all combined to make a do or die moment. We decided we weren’t going to take this lying down. It’d be easy enough to cave when all opportunity is being snuffed out and then you’re kicked while you’re down. It’d be easy to simply go on doing whatever it is we’re doing with our lives and walk away; another defeated minion in someone else’s RPG. But instead, we stand proud and defiant. This is our name, that is our stage, and the storms can rage all they want.”

To date, the band has released two albums, 2015’s “None of This is Real” and 2019’s “Meridiem” keeping a focus on writing complex, reasonably technical metal with clean vocals a la Blind Guardian and Iced Earth. Tanagra’s music writing is diverse and so is the process for each release. In this track, in particular, the vocals were established early and built around entirely; rather than being applied later. This leads it to sound more cohesive.

Clean, melodic, and driving, Tanagra is recommended for fans of Iced Earth, Pyramaze, and Caladan Brood.

Formed out of the love of science fiction, fantasy, and theatrical heavy metal storytelling, TANAGRA hit the Portland, USA metal scene in 2011 and alongside bands like Spellcaster, Excruciator, and Ritual Healing, helped foster a heavy/power metal scene in a city obsessed with black and doom metal. In 2015, after releasing their debut album, None of This is Real, an energetic collection of American power metal showcasing their love for complex arrangements and lengthy songs, they garnered critical acclaim from a multitude of publications around the world and began their rise by opening for acclaimed bands such as Visigoth, Primal Fear, Sanctuary, Vicious Rumors, Judicator, and Blaze Bayley.

In the time following their debut release, the members found a deep love for progressive rock/metal and symphonic black metal. A culling of straight-forward riffing and songwriting gave way to complex yet compelling rhythms interwoven with vibrant vocal arrangements, transcendent soloing, and varying instrumental textures in a lush harmonic landscape.

In 2016, TANAGRA entered the studio with the fruits of their labors to begin recording their ambitious second album, titled Meridiem. Hunkered down across four studios for close to three years, joined by guest musicians on piano, cello, and viola, they refined and crafted their seven compositions to perfection with every minute of studio time spent adding more and more layers of depth, emotion, harmony, and complexity. After recording his parts, Josh Kay moved to Los Angeles and started a new project; Alizarin.

After Meridiem was released to much fanfare, Tom Socia also exited the band quietly. When new troubles of Covid and as a potential deathblow from a legal battle with Nagra loomed, Christopher took a backseat. But now TANAGRA, largely reduced to two and having emerged victorious from that uncertain future, is celebrating with the release of a new single “Seas of Glass.” Introducing Erich Ulmer as lead vocals, heard before in Across the Ancient Desert, and on many backing tracks of much of TANAGRA’s catalog, they hope fans old and new alike will see this as a triumph of will as they step into a new age.

Tanagra’s new single, Seas of Glass, will be released to the world on October 29, 2020, digitally. Available from most distribution sites like Spotify, Bandcamp, and iTunes.

Without Mercy have been teasing their upcoming album over the past weeks and the time is now for worldwide audiences to bask in the glory that is “Seismic”.

The vast majority of the material for “Seismic” was written and rewritten multiple times. Honed and tightened over tours and live performances, Without Mercy were unwilling to place “filler” to enhance anything. They came at this album with the best of everything they had after our inspirations were doing the same. The band shares their excitement for the release:

“We are beyond stoked to have our new album “Seismic” see the light of day. We couldn’t be more proud to have it out on Bloodblast distribution and powered by Nuclear Blast. These guys really got our album and understood what we were aiming for in style and composition. They get it. They really get it.”

For this album, Without Mercy wrote each song as an individual first and then grouped several songs together. Every inch of these tunes was going to be the best representation they could possibly get, this album represents four years of solid work ethic and unwillingness to compromise even in the slightest.

This is a chance to hear what tenacity can sound like. Lyrics that are an honest take on issues, riffs that have been refined over time, drum parts, and rhythms that are not standard or washed out. Even the mixing team behind it has a resume as long as your arm. The band pushed themselves in every field of this record and now that it’s here, fans can relive those moments.

For fans of Cattle Decapitation, Pantera, and Decapitated, the full stream of “Seismic” can be heard via its premiere on WeAreThePit HERE.

Suitable for every groove-loving metalhead out there, “Seismic” comes out on November 20, 2020, via Bloodblast Distribution.

“The thrash-stomp modes on “Worthless” ring like a head-on collision between DECAPITATED and BIOHAZARD with a dash of power metal thrown into the solo section. Alex Friis wrings his throat to huge extremes, hopefully leaving tissue intact as he hits agonizing squeals while throwing indictments against former band members — guess on your own who that might entail. DJ Temple’s guitar work on “Worthless” is terrific..” (Mouchido EP 2016) – Blabbermouth

“Vancouver’s Without Mercy is a prime example of how putting in a little bit of elbow grease can result in advantageous outcomes. The quartet play their brand of melodic, groove-laden death metal independently, but refuse to remain held back by a lack in the promotional and money machine backing departments. Over the course of a decade or so, the band has experienced the same highs and lows as most others, but their successes – which include a small handful of recordings, a bigger handful of tours, and appearances in video games – have been felt at a deeper clip because they’ve essentially managed everything themselves.”  (Mouchido EP 2016) – Decibel Magazine

“In a word, the music rips. And it also thunders, and punches so fast and hard that it’s like a jackhammer-sized nail gun ramming bolts into concrete at high speed while the operator howls and shrieks for all he’s worth, segmented by a start-stop breakdown that will give your skull a good rattling and lit up by swarming guitar flurries that are as fiery as the torches in the video (Burn).” (Mouchido EP 2016) – No Clean Singing

” the band live up to their name with each song on this 4 track EP going for straight for the throat; merciless aural violence and tight, technical proficiency melded with some serious might!” (Mouchido EP 2016) – Worship Metal

“Mouichido might only be a brief four songs and nineteen minutes long but, by the end of it, the Canadian death metal wrecking machine have left you in no doubt as to what they’re about.” (Mouchido EP 2016) – PureGrainAudio

“Right from the beginning you feel the weight and the immensity of Mouichido and one listen just doesn’t do it justice. This is a re-release of previously recorded material with a new vocalist and even so, Without Mercy comes out swinging again and knocks it clear out of the park.” (Mouchido EP 2016) – Cadaver Garden

“possibly the most savage song to ascend from the depths of the west in a good long while.” – Canadian Beats

Rockshots Records: Kult Of The Skull God Shares Video For Album Title Track  “The Great Magini”

Debut Album “The Great Magini” Out Now!

Kult Of The Skull God are sharing with fans their latest lyric video for the title track off their debut album “The Great Magini” released this past May via Rockshots Records. Taking inspiration from the titans of rock including Danzig, The Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath they have combined slick heavy riffs with smooth yet haunting vocals.

The band adds about the video:

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and all the people of this enslaved World…Let me raise my top hat high to salute you all. May I introduce myself? I’m The Great Magini, wizard, and demon. Let me guide you through a journey to the forlorn lands of desperation and demise! Fancy a ride?”

The video for “The Great Magini” can be watched HERE.

Seeking a pure rock n’ roll sound away from the electronic elements of their previous band, Army Of The Universe’s vocalist Lord Kalidon and guitarist Davide Tavecchia have returned with Kult of The Skull God. Armed with the drummer Joey Amato they have energized their infrangible attitude, fury, and raw talent to save the world from mumble rappers, auto-tuned pop stars, and rock mediocrity.

T-Rex Marathon Pay Homage To Canadian Post-Hardcore Pioneers Alexisonfire With Video “A Prison Just For Us”

Debut Album “Days Without Incident” Out Now!

L-R- Alex Hodges (guitar, vocals), Jeremy Toppings (bass, vocals), Darien Swolfs (drums), Adam Sakauye (lead vocals), Aaron Stafford (guitar, vocals)

Ottawa’s punk/post-hardcore act T-Rex Marathon released their debut album “Days Without Incident” on October 16th. On the full length, the band wrote a love track to one of their collectively favourite Canadian bands Alexisonfire. Entitled “A Prison Just For Us”, the song’s structure and feel pay homage to AoF’s track “Accidents” and if it were to be described in one word, it would be atmosphere for its interesting production techniques and slightly improvisational guitar parts.

Today, the band have teamed up with PunkNews for the premiere of the track’s lyric video, which can be viewed HERE.

The band adds:

“This song was written as an homage of sorts to Canadian post-hardcore pioneers Alexisonfire. AoF was, and still is, a huge influence on this band’s music. This song is a band favourite because it stands apart from the other songs on the album, featuring an emphasis on atmosphere and ambiance rather than punchy energy. This song might sound a little different from the others, but we do think it’s a great song that we think will really resonate with our listeners!”

For fans of Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, and A Day to Remember, T-Rex Marathon is out to prove they aren’t a one-trick pony with their first full length, which serves as a collection of everything they have been, will be, and currently are. The listening experience is a mix of nostalgia, reminiscent of the bands of their youth that they still love, and also intrigue. They have a goal of helping their fans reconcile their love of old bands and a glimpse of several other musical directions to explore, ultimately giving them a safe space to do so.

The band comments:

“We couldn’t be happier with this album. It’s the culmination of many years of growth, and we’re over the moon to finally show it to people. T-Rex Marathon attempted many times to write a full album before. It just never felt quite right, but after years of a shuffling lineup, changes in sound, and other roadblocks, we have a product we are incredibly proud of.

We have been described as many things, but one word kept coming up: Nostalgic. We had people from all over come and tell us that our music reminded them of their high school days. We were reminiscent of the music that introduced them in the communities they’re a part of today. We wanted to make an album that would feel familiar, yet novel. This album is a love letter to the bands that inspired us and a monument to the places we intend to go.

This album has something for everyone. As the five of us in the band, all come from different musical backgrounds, from punk to metal to musical theatre, this album covers a lot of ground, yet doesn’t feel like it’s drawn thin. But at the end of the day, we’re storytellers. We wanted to make a product that asks to be taken seriously, that demands active listening, that deserves your attention.

We hope that everyone else loves listening to it as much as we do.”

T-Rex Marathon‘s new album “Days Without Incident” is available on T-rexmarathon.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music.

About:
Starting out on the Ottawa metal/hardcore scene, T-Rex Marathon has adopted a unique sound that comes from a mix of Alternative Rock, Punk, and Post-Hardcore.

Formed by friends in high school, the band began to really take shape almost by accident and through dumb luck. The current lineup consists of Aaron Stafford (guitar/bass/keys/vocals), Adam Sakauye (lead vocals), Alex Hodges (guitar/bass/keys/vocals), Darien Swolfs (drums/percussion), and Jeremy Toppings (bass/vocals).

In a fiercely democratic writing process, every single member has input and a veto, sometimes resulting in a very long but completely organic process resulting in a synthesis of something everyone is happy with. As the band progresses, so does the love and attention that is put into each and everything they produce. The T-Rex Marathon family is and has always been, dedicated to making kick-ass music and leaving a mark in the industry, not only for them, but for their fans.

The boys in T-Rex, as the band is called for short, endlessly value their dedicated fans, affectionately known as Marathoners. After all, it is for them that they continue to write about what they want and play what feels right. T-Rex Marathon’s music is a simple blend of attack and melody that has the main goal of being not only fun to play, but fun to listen and rock out to.

The stage is a performing area, and this band refuses to give anything but their all at every show. They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with bands such as: Of Burning Empires, Flesh Over Faith, Faithful Unto Death, and Project Mantra. They have also played Wretched Fest 1&3, Unite and Ignite 2012, 2014.

To date, the band has released 2 EPs Aurelia (2017), Eponymous (2016), and are readying to share with fans their first full length ” Days Without Incident ” due out October 16th, 2020.

“Rising Ottawa-based band T-Rex Marathon will see a release of their first full-length album, Days Without Incident, this year with songs chock full of the bands’ signature mix of melodic punk rock post-hardcore.” – Ghost Cult Mag

“With “Days Without Incident”, T-Rex Marathon have created a mighty debut work. The band has their own sound, plenty to say and enormous talent, the way into the clubs and ultimately stadiums of this world is certainly paved.” – Artnoir

“T-Rex Marathon have put forth a strong, cohesive collection of songs, with enough diversity throughout to keep listeners engaged.” Canadian Scene Cult

Rome’s Shores of Null have a third teaser to preview their upcoming doom record “Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying)”. Close to forty minutes, the one track album is an epic journey through the process of grieving.

From a lyrical viewpoint “Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying)” is inspired by the five stages of grief formulated by the Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross and explored in her book “On Death And Dying”, hence the title.

Today, the band shares “Beyond the Shores (Excerpt III)”. The third excerpt opens with feeble notes of a grand piano before the unmistakable spoken words of Saturnus’ Thomas A.G. Jensen enters the scene, and his doleful growl finally puts you out of your misery. Saturnus is one of Shores of Null‘s favorite death/doom bands and vocalist Davide Straccione personally has been a fan of them since ‘Veronika Decides To Die’ came out in 2006. They’re truly honored to have him on board for this release.

Shores of Null stands out from its contemporaries with its ability to blend seemingly disparate elements and their ability to sound overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time. Blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place.

Recommended for any and all doom fans, especially fans of My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, and Amorphis, “Beyond the Shores (Excerpt III)” can be heard via its North American premiere on DoomAndStoned HERE.

“Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying)” will be released in its entirety on November 27th, 2020.

About:

Shores Of Null is a Rome-based metal band, an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013. They have churned out two impressive records: the melodic and somber  “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014) and the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), both of which were highly praised by the worldwide music press.

Shores of Null stands out from its contemporaries with its ability to blend seemingly disparate elements and their ability to sound overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time. Blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic yet majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

Shores Of Null has performed over 150 shows, including six European tours (with In The Woods, Ereb Altor, Hooded Menace, Mourning Beloveth, Novembre, Harakiri For The Sky, Sylvaine, and more), dozens of shows and tours in their home country (with Primordial, Arcturus, Candlemass, Moonsorrow, Leprous, Saturnus, Negura Bunget, etc.) and many European Festivals (Inferno Festival, Eindhoven Metal Meeting, Winter Days Of Metal, Doom Over London, Metalitalia Fest, Frantic Fest, and more).

Shores Of Null’s third work, “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying),” is expected to be released in November 2020 via Spikerot Records, continuing to prove the band’s willingness to go off the beaten path and create their ultimate doom manifesto, a 38 minute-long suite emphasizing their heavier, slower and dramatic side, inspired by the five stages of grief formulated by the Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. The band has collaborated on the dark opus with many special guests, including two doom-titans, Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun) and Thomas A.G. Jensen (Saturnus), along with the angelic voice of Elisabetta Marchetti (Inno). The band is able to present an even more diverse and eclectic sound on the album thanks to the addition of classical instruments like piano and violin, along with the return of the talented Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono (Hour Of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse) behind the production desk.
