Fuck The Facts return in 2020 with a new album entitled “Pleine Noirceur” due out November 20th via their very own label Noise Salvation. The full length comes five years after they unleashed their Juno nominated “Desire Will Rot”. “Pleine Noirceur” continues right where the band left off, offering up another slab of their patented “bastardized” grindcore full of all the twists and turns that fans have come to expect. With only a few weeks left before it officially drops, the band is revealing the next single off the record. “Everything I Love Is Ending”, is the second song the band wrote during their break between albums, it exploits the classic grindcore dichotomy between sludgy and grindy.

Teaming up with Consequence of Sound, Fuck The Facts is premiering the stream for “Everything I Love Is Ending” HERE.

Fuck The Facts has amassed a respectable discography over the years, and this new offering joins the 7 LPs and 6 EPs released to date. The considerable amount of time the band has been working together shows in the natural chemistry that courses through each of the 12 tracks. Fuck The Facts comments on the album:

“We took a long break before working on this album, I feel like it’s a collection of bits and pieces; old and new, short and long. It’s us working back into the groove, just in time for a pandemic. This album also could have easily been 3 EPs, you really have to listen to the whole thing in order to fully enjoy it. It opens the door for what is next.”

What started as a basement recording project in the late 90s has blossomed into one of the most prolific bands in the Canadian extreme underground scene. Fuck The Facts have always been more about making albums than just writing songs, using what’s left over for a separate EP, but this time around they decided to put the extra songs as bonus tracks on the different physical copies of the release, so the vinyl, CD and cassette versions will each have a different bonus track that’s not available on the digital release.

The unapologetic, experimental album probably needs a few listens in order to fully enjoy. Put on some noise-canceling headphones, choose your drug of choice, close your eyes, and enjoy.

Recommended for fans of Cephalic Carnage, Exhumed, and Morbid Angel, “Pleine Noirceur” will be available in several different formats on November 20, 2020.

About:
Started as a recording project in the late ’90s, it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic that produced a slew of underground releases drove Fuck The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena. Since then, the Ottawa-based unit has barely stopped for a breath of reconsideration, associating themselves with some of the biggest labels in underground extreme music, as well as continuing a steady output of DIY releases. Having toured hundreds of thousands of kilometers throughout North America and Europe, guitarist/founder Topon Das, vocalist Mel Mongeon and drummer Mathieu Vilandré have performed as some of the biggest festivals and sweated it out in some of the smallest basements. From 2006-2011 Fuck the Facts released three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records.  Upon the completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows Fuck The Facts efforts as an entity continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper understanding of what significance their art holds to them. As one of the longest-running and most recognizable names in Canadian Grindcore, FUCK THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grindcore” with no end in sight.

“Their formidable discography is speckled with blips and bursts of every shade of extreme metal, hardcore, punk, and noise imaginable, spearheaded by vocalist Mel Mongeon’s razor-edged larynx and mastermind Topon Das’ mad fretboard genius.” – Pitchfork

“FUCK THE FACTS brings a strong collection of extreme metal tunes, often technical and scathing, sometimes grindy and with just enough melody to digest without heartburn.” – Blabbermouth

“explosive and ferocious” – Metal Sucks

“Fuck The Facts aren’t your average grindcore band.” – No Clean Singing

“Canadian grindcore hurricane” – CVLT Nation

“It’s impossible to deny that the grindcore-meets-death-metal hybrid sound they’ve created” – Lambgoat

Canadian thrash legends Anonymus unleashed their 12th studio album “La Bestia” via label Bam&co Heavy this past June. With the end of the year nearing, the band is ready to share with fans physical copies of the full-length, now available on orange vinyl and CD as of November 6th, which can be ordered at the following link HERE.

The band adds:

“We are very happy to finally release ‘La Bestia’, we’ve added some special features when you order the vinyl that includes a 4X4 patch, 4×4 sticker, 11×11 poster, a random guitar pick from one of the axe players along with CD too with it.

We also can’t wait to hit the road to kick ass on tour once this era of Covid is over. While we wait, we have plans to release another music video, drum, and guitar playthrough plus we’re working on our next album to follow.”

In addition to “La Bestia” being available on vinyl and CD, the band is celebrating the physical release by sharing their latest live in-studio video of the album’s title track, which can be viewed on YouTube.

Known for their discography of both French and English releases, “La Bestia” is the first full length that the band offered up to metal fans that is completely in Spanish. Many metalheads and critics asked the most relevant question, why an album in Spanish? The answer… since Drummer Carlos Araya is Chilean born, and Oscar (lead vocals and bass) and Dan Souto (guitars and backing vocals) are sons of Spanish immigrants, it was only inevitable to make a record in that language that 3/4 of the band is fluent in.

The tracks on “La Bestia” were produced mainly by guitarist Jef Fortin as well as Colin Richardson who also produced 1999’s ‘Instinct’ and Jean-Francois Dagenais (Kataklysm) who produced 2006’s ‘Chapter Chaos Begins’. The album also features the bilingual song “Violencia Versus Violence” with the participation of Carlos Maldos of Lethal Creation (MX) and Arno Dhenain Le Bourhis of Black Bomb A (FR) along with a second bilingual track “Tierra” with Marco Calliari singing in Italian.

“La Bestia” album stream and download on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer HERE.

And for the beer lovers out there, Anonymus also launched their own IPA beer (La Microbrasserie Le Fermentor), named in honour of their first Spanish release. Info here.

Track Listing:
1. Bajo Presión (3:31)
2. Bicho Loco (3:58)
3. Sobrevivir (4:11)
4. Violencia Versus Violence (featuring Carlos Maldos of Lethal Creation (MX) and Arno from Black Bomb A) (4:33)

About:

Anonymus is a Canadian thrash metal band that explodes on stage with each presence, that pulls you in with its passion and that yells at you with corrosive and violent texts that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Since their first release in 1994, Anonymus has made its mark on the Quebec music scene. From the beginning, the group has been well received while demonstrating its brutal sound and technique that has continually evolved over the years. Oscar Souto (vocals, bass) Daniel Souto (guitar, vocals) Carlos Araya (drums), Jef Fortin (guitar since 2006) and Marco Calliari (vocals, guitar from 1994 to 2006) have since widely traveled the roads of their country, participated in the deprivation of Mononc’Serge and continue today to ignite stages everywhere they go. These veterans of the metal scene continue to proudly carry the torch after 20 years of chaos and barbaric music.

Forever hungry for metal, everyone in Anonymus brings ideas to the table. Sometimes it is a whole song or just the beginnings of one, yet together the band works to create a full thrashy anthem from the pieces, working on it until it is complete. The music always comes first, and when the ambiance is formulated, the lyrics, which come from a personal place and from current events, can be added.

Unstoppable and indestructible, inspired by bands like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax; Anonymus is nothing short of the powerful, aggressive and technical thrash metal that they have been refining for decades exemplified on their impressive discography of both French and English releases, which includes: “Ni vu, ni connu” (1994); Stress (1996); Instinct (1999); Daemonium (2002); Academie du Massacre (2003); Chapter Chaos Begins (2006); Musique Barbare (2008); État Brute (2011); Envers et contre tous (2015); P.O.M.M.E (2017); Sacrifices (2019); and their first-ever Spanish album La Bestia (2020) due out June 12 via label Bam&co Heavy.

Today, Anonymus does not need a presentation. This institution of the Quebec metal industry has been offering for twenty-six years, a passion for dark notes and unrivaled power. The offer is still valid. With more than 1500 career shows under their belt, Anonymus is completely in their element when performing in front of fans, they offer only their absolute best ensuring the crowd is moving. Having shared the stage with metal great such as Anthrax, Cannibal Corpse, and Kataklysm at festivals such as Heavy Montreal, Montebello, and through international tours, they are no strangers to a wild show.

ANONYMUS FOLLOWS ITS PATH, AGAINST ALL ODDS!

Canada’s T-Rex Marathon Premiere Political Video “Faux News” Off New Album “Days Without Incident”

Video Premiere via MetalTalk.net

Debut Album “Days Without Incident” Out Now!

L-R- Alex Hodges (guitar, vocals), Jeremy Toppings (bass, vocals), Darien Swolfs (drums), Adam Sakauye (lead vocals), Aaron Stafford (guitar, vocals)

Ottawa’s punk/post-hardcore act T-Rex Marathon released their debut album “Days Without Incident” on October 16th. On the full length, the band wrote a track entitled “Faux News”. The band wouldn’t call themselves very political, but this song to them is an exception. Bassist Jeremy Toppings wrote the lyrics to the track when he was on vacation in the US a few years ago and it didn’t take very long after that for the band to build a melody around them. More or less, “Faux News” is voicing concern to the tense political climate of the band’s neighbours to the south are finding themselves in along with the rest of the western world.

The band adds:

“Let’s get political. The title is a pun on “Fox News” and fake news (as if it wasn’t obvious). Faux News is an expression of anger towards our compliance to the corruption and determination to try and stand against it moving on. Punchy, energetic, focused, and provocative, the song is meant to be shouted out loud and is the kind of tune that would galvanize young budding activists to dive deeper into the ideas we convey.”

Watch the new video for “Faux News” via its premiere on MetalTalk.net HERE.

For fans of Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, and A Day to Remember, T-Rex Marathon is out to prove they aren’t a one-trick pony with their first full length, which serves as a collection of everything they have been, will be, and currently are. The listening experience is a mix of nostalgia, reminiscent of the bands of their youth that they still love, and also intrigue. They have a goal of helping their fans reconcile their love of old bands and a glimpse of several other musical directions to explore, ultimately giving them a safe space to do so.

The band comments:

“We couldn’t be happier with this album. It’s the culmination of many years of growth, and we’re over the moon to finally show it to people. T-Rex Marathon attempted many times to write a full album before. It just never felt quite right, but after years of a shuffling lineup, changes in sound, and other roadblocks, we have a product we are incredibly proud of.

We have been described as many things, but one word kept coming up: Nostalgic. We had people from all over come and tell us that our music reminded them of their high school days. We were reminiscent of the music that introduced them in the communities they’re a part of today. We wanted to make an album that would feel familiar, yet novel. This album is a love letter to the bands that inspired us and a monument to the places we intend to go.

This album has something for everyone. As the five of us in the band, all come from different musical backgrounds, from punk to metal to musical theatre, this album covers a lot of ground, yet doesn’t feel like it’s drawn thin. But at the end of the day, we’re storytellers. We wanted to make a product that asks to be taken seriously, that demands active listening, that deserves your attention.

We hope that everyone else loves listening to it as much as we do.”

T-Rex Marathon‘s new album “Days Without Incident” is available on T-rexmarathon.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music.

About:

Starting out on the Ottawa metal/hardcore scene, T-Rex Marathon has adopted a unique sound that comes from a mix of Alternative Rock, Punk, and Post-Hardcore.

Formed by friends in high school, the band began to really take shape almost by accident and through dumb luck. The current lineup consists of Aaron Stafford (guitar/bass/keys/vocals), Adam Sakauye (lead vocals), Alex Hodges (guitar/bass/keys/vocals), Darien Swolfs (drums/percussion), and Jeremy Toppings (bass/vocals).

In a fiercely democratic writing process, every single member has input and a veto, sometimes resulting in a very long but completely organic process resulting in a synthesis of something everyone is happy with. As the band progresses, so does the love and attention that is put into each and everything they produce. The T-Rex Marathon family is and has always been, dedicated to making kick-ass music and leaving a mark in the industry, not only for them, but for their fans.

The boys in T-Rex, as the band is called for short, endlessly value their dedicated fans, affectionately known as Marathoners. After all, it is for them that they continue to write about what they want and play what feels right. T-Rex Marathon’s music is a simple blend of attack and melody that has the main goal of being not only fun to play, but fun to listen and rock out to.

The stage is a performing area, and this band refuses to give anything but their all at every show. They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with bands such as: Of Burning Empires, Flesh Over Faith, Faithful Unto Death, and Project Mantra. They have also played Wretched Fest 1&3, Unite and Ignite 2012, 2014.

To date, the band has released 2 EPs Aurelia (2017), Eponymous (2016), and are readying to share with fans their first full length ” Days Without Incident ” due out October 16th, 2020.

“Each band member draws in a different musical influence, from Alexisonfire (post-hardcore) to Blink-182 (pop-punk), to even Coheed and Cambria (progressive rock), creating a sound that is impossible to be kept in a box.” – Asha Swann

“For fans of hardcore, punk and just good rock n roll, people from all over the spectrum should get on this!” – Punkanormal Activity

Disconnecting From Life NYC’s WINTER NIGHTS Explore “Withdrawals”

Lyric Video Premiere via MetalInjection

New Self-Titled Album Out Now!

Efrain Farfan – Back up Vocals and Guitar, Jeremy Farfan – Vocals and Guitar

NYC death metal Winter Nights are unveiling their new lyric video “Withdrawals” in support of their self-titled album released this past July.  Heavy, somber, and progressive, vocalist and guitarist Jeremy Farfan explains the message behind the song and video:

“When this song was written. It was a weird time as I just had ankle surgery and was laying in a hospital bed hopped up on painkillers staring at the rain smashing against the window while in serious pain. The idea behind it came from not wanting to deal with the immediate post-surgery pain.

Withdrawal from life in general. In the weeks to come, I was blessed to have my amp stack at home and spent most days jamming out while barely being mobile. This song was conjured and as soon as I returned to the studio rehearsal, it ultimately flowed like water from the first note we played…”

The lyric video for “Withdrawals” can be viewed via its premiere on MetalInjection HERE.

Winter Nights‘ latest full length follows the band’s 2014 widely praised record “An Endless Apocalypse”. Recorded between 2015 and 2018 at Atomic Sound in Brooklyn, New York, this new album is clearly progress for Winter Nights. Showing its maturity, it’s easy to hear the difference between the self-titled album and its predecessor.

Combining dark, foreboding lyrics and melodic interludes breaking up pounding riffs, the primary themes on the album relate to the feeling of being stuck on the idea of death. The lyrics are a sort of metaphor of losing someone and/or taking your own life for one purpose or another. Winter Nights explains the album in their own words, painting a grim picture:

“If you took a deep breath right before free-falling off a cliff in the pouring rain with a glimmer of sunshine trying to come through dark clouds only to fall into a dark hole and wake up crawling all fours on cold soil with snow falling in a dark moonlight forest.”

For fans of Belphegor, Amon Amarth, and Dark Tranquility, Winter Nights‘ self-titled album is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, and all other major digital platforms.

About:
Winter Nights is a four-piece melodic death metal band emanating from Brooklyn, New York in the winter of 2007. The sound and lyrical themes of their music portray loss, pain, grievance, and darkness.

Guitar driven melodies evoke visceral reactions to the mythic end of the world. They are an integral part of the thriving New York metal scene. As of 2020, their formation consists of dueling guitar brothers Jeremy and Efrain Farfan who also cover vocals, bassist Martin Tune and drummer James Yarusinsky.

The two Farfan brothers came up with the idea for the band after a New Years’ toast and after recruiting a friend they started writing music together and the rest is history. Trading endless amounts of riffs the Farfan brothers devise the majority of the music before presenting it to the rest of the band to be beefed out in the rehearsal studio.

Mainly inspired by nature, places of travel. different scenery. Jeremy gets his ideas from places he’s traveled such as the cliffs of northern Ireland, catacombs of Montreal, nighttime canals of Venice, and the eerie silence of Central Park at night.

Playing with similar bands such as Kalmah, Belphegor, and Insomnium, and on festivals including Maryland Folkfest and Poconos Folkfest, Winter Nights is a mainstay in the New York metal underground. With personal influences rooted primarily in metal, the members of Winter Nights make provocative, despairing, genuine songs. In 2008 they released a self-titled demo EP, followed by another EP “From Darkness Till Dawn” in 2011, and a full length “An Endless Apocalypse” in 2014. 2020 brings a new self-titled album due out July 31st.

“Bone-Crushing Melodic Death Metal” – Permafrost Today

“‘Encounters of the Frozen North’ has a lot of thundering, jolting power along with some killer riffs and a dark, somewhat Eastern-influenced melody that worms its way into your head. The music is capped by jagged, tyrannical vocals that make a powerful impact and by a serpentine solo that underscores the reptilian menace lurking within the song.” – NoCleanSinging

“Combining the worlds of detailed, melodic guitar metal with the gruff, mean vocalisation of death and doom, Winter Nights has a lot to offer across the 6 tracks.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Winter Nights remain at the heart of Brooklyn” – Heavy New York

“Anyone seeking melodic death metal that isn’t afraid of really leaning into the ‘death’ side of things, while still maintaining some epic and somber tones, Winter Nights should be next on your ‘need to check out’ list. Frost-bitten and glorious in just the right percentages. 8/10” – Dead Rhetoric

“the music on this is moody and mid-paced, with a melancholic melodic sensibility mixed in with crunching, heavy riffing that almost reminds me of older Amon Amarth.” – The Metal Crypt

“Fans of old school Amon Amarth and At The Gates will dig this band. Jam out to “When December Burns” now!” – Ghost Cult Mag

“Six songs in this new work; the first shot is ENCOUNTERS, where instrumental parts and blackened vocals prevail.” – HardRockHeavyMetal

Canada’s Ancient Thrones have had much lead up to the release of their new album “The Veil” with three singles, now the wait is over and fans around the world can experience the entire melodic, gritty story on the concept album.

Ancient Thrones shares their madness behind the music and their hopes for listeners:

“The record is a concept record so it’s meant to be listened to in its entirety to get the full experience of the story. Even the songs were written and laid out in a way that they seamlessly transition into each other. Almost as if it was just one long piece of music broken up into separate parts as tracks. We want people to headbang and mosh, but we also want to bring people on a journey through this world of purgatory and grief and understand each phase of grief the record represents through the 10 tracks.”

“The Veil” is a 57-minute descent into the afterlife. Ancient Thrones intends to tell a compelling story of grief that people can relate to through a dark and progressive package droning with cosmic anguish where nothing is as it appears both musically and lyrically. Much like the album, the band went through a metamorphosis writing this piece and grew together as musicians, songwriters, and people.

Recommended for fans of Revocation, The Red Chord, and The Black Dahlia Murder, “The Veil” will be officially out as of Friday, October 30th, 2020 and before it drops, the record can be heard in full on Decibel Magazine HERE.

The album will be available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.

About:

Ancient Thrones, formerly “Abysseral Throne”, is a locally acclaimed blackened metal outfit that rebranded to suit major changes in line-up and songwriting.

Formed in 2011, they quickly went to work to establish themselves among their scene and gained local notoriety eventually allowing them the opportunities to open for renowned metal acts from across the globe.

Sean Hickey (drums/vocals) is the sole original founder of Abysseral remaining, Matt LeBlanc joined in 2015 on bass and improved and refined the sound and operation drastically. Once they lost their original singer and guitar player Jonny Rains, Dylan Wallace joined and took over main songwriting duties. Hickey took over completely on vocals with a black/death metal vocal style, and Nick Leslie joined shortly after on the second guitar. Work began on writing a new album which took about 3 months to write the music for. The new material sparked the name change to Ancient Thrones as an homage to one of Hickey’s favorite bands and inspirations, Wolves in the Throne Room.

In 2013 the band released its debut record and its subsequent follow-up in 2016, “Storming The Black Gate”, which was nominated for an East Coast Music Award. Ancient Thrones have toured throughout Canada, and played at several festivals, sharing the stages with bands such as Silverstein, The Agonist, Black Crown Initiate, and Skull Fist.

2020 sees the release of the concept album “The Veil” showcasing the band’s desire for storytelling and pushing them to new heights musically. The new album explores the journey of a man faced with tragedy, his mortality and ultimately the permanence of our actions told through technical soundscapes and haunting atmosphere.

“A full-throttle attack, the song (The Sight of Oblivion) delivers bludgeoning rhythms, vicious darting and slashing guitar-work, scorching blackened shrieks, and cold-hearted roars. There’s a brazen, borderline-unhinged quality to the barrage, generated by screaming, rapidly whirling leads, magma-like bass notes, and fast-changing, bone-cracking drums. But within the assault there are also fluid, sinuous melodic leads whose mellifluous, reverberating tones give the music a mysterious, mesmerizing, and mournful quality. And near the end one of those leads morphs into a fret-burning dual-guitar extravaganza that really gets the blood rushing.” – No Clean Singing

“a 57-minute descent into purgatory….” – Permafrost Today

“The Sight of Oblivion and The Millionth Grave are steeped in ferociousness and savagery as only a band well versed in blackened death metal are capable of producing.8.5/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“With this new incarnation, Ancient Thrones has moved into strict Black/Death territory, producing an album filled with pummeling riffs, intricate song structures, and technical musicianship that’s leavened by atmospheric segments and epic, sometimes audacious melodies that border on Cascadian. The production matches this style perfectly, being heavy and abrasive while allowing the songs enough room to stretch out… fans of more epic and melodic Black/Death will want to give The Veil a listen. 4/5” – The Metal Crypt

Highly detailed with layers of vocal, orchestral interludes and a passionate story can all be found in the debut EP from Canada’s Arcana. This is the first piece of many in what is already a vast and colorful universe that the band has created.

Aiming to have listeners embrace music that is never stagnant and come away inspired, Arcana has weaved a tale of love, tragedy, and perseverance in the story of Damien. The band shares the details on the premise of the first act.

“This EP is a sort of love story from Damian to his wife Hope and their child Cassidy before tragedy strikes. I try to present what his anxieties and pressures are working far away from his family but also a lingering unstableness from within that is voiced by the character Nightmare that foreshadows the tragedy that is about to befall them. Throughout the “Letters from a Lost Soul” arc, Damian will be expressing all of these emotions through letters to his wife and child, the letters being the songs on each album and the characters writing back and forth.”

Arcana is mainly a two-man project split between the founder Rogan McAndrews and friend, drummer, and engineer Deyson Thiara in their respective home studios. Rogan records and programs all the guitars, bass, synths, orchestra, and vocals while Deyson records drums, reamps, and mixes and masters the tracks. Other musicians were recruited to play the parts of the characters who sing their way through the events that unfold.

Technical and cinematic, “Letters From A Lost Soul | Act I: The World One Forms” is poetic and thought-provoking and the perfect compliment to collections of prog fans, especially ones who enjoy Leprous, Coheed and Cambria, and Porcupine Tree.

Canada’s Sadistic Embodiment unleashed their new album “Blood Spell” this past September via CDN Records. The full length follows the band’s three EPs Beloved Imprisonment (2019), Blodörn (2018), and Self-Titled (2018).

Featuring a behemoth of nine assaulting tracks, drummer Bryan “Newbs” Newbury is sharing with fans cam footage of his terminator approach to the kit for the band’s track “Stranger”, which can be viewed via Newbury’s Youtube channel HERE.

Bryan “Newbs” Newbury has been shredding the drum kit in Western Canada since 2002 working his way up the ranks to become one of the country’s most beloved, fun, positive, and beastly, bearded metal drummers. Newbury wears his obvious influences on his sleeve, literally! Heavy names like Gene Hoglan, Neil Peart, and Vinnie Paul shape his style and love of groovy hard-hitting metal.

Among his current band Sadistic Embodiment, Newbury also drums for international touring artists Into Eternity and Untimely Demise. He also is endorsed by Pearl Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Vater Drumsticks, Remo Drum Heads, Sweet Spot Clutches, High Life Super Foods, Allmax Nutrition, Fresh Cap Mushrooms, and The Gilded Beard.

Sadistic Embodiment continues their sonic onslaught, each of the nine songs on “Blood Spell” has a distinct feel given the variation in vocal and instrumental styles throughout the album. Each track stands out and yet they are all uniquely Sadistic Embodiment. This will please old school death metallers and the new school with a variety of punch-in-your-face hooks, melodic passages, and absolutely brutal anthemic choruses.

The band comments on the album:

“After spitting out three EPs this last couple of years, we were really stoked and kind of nervous settling into a longer writing and recording process for Blood Spell. As per usual, we cranked out the material during bi-monthly jams, but this time we really took our time crafting the music once the main structure of the songs was built. Our sound is still exactly the same, but the listeners may hear more broad musical influences across the nine tracks.  There are tracks that sound distinctively Wally and Jason and certain tracks where you really hear Bryan shine as he shows off his technical prowess.

A lot of our songs are longer than your average death metal track, and they are relatively simple in regards to guitar and lyrical work. But with longer playtime, we were able to fit in more ambiance and guitars solos into every nook and cranny.”

“Blood Spell” is available on CD from CDN Records here and digitally on Bandcamp, Spotify, and Apple Music.

“Canadian death metal executioners Sadistic Embodiment have emerged from their quarantine torture chamber to release their first LP, Blood Spell. After establishing their brutality across three EPs, they’re ready to give the world a global enema on their full-length debut… Sadistic Embodiment will appeal to fans who want both mosh-ready slams and razorblade riffing. ” – Decibel Magazine

“The band’s new album, Blood Spell is full of hooks, riffs, blasts, and blends of old and new school death metal. Plus, Sadistic Embodiment shows you can throw Bryan Newbury (Into Eternity, Untimely Demise) behind the kit in any band and make gold out of the drumming… Early on in the album, one of the first songs to come across is “Gallows Hill”. This song probably features the most riffs of any on the album, but one key part of Sadistic Embodiment is the lyrics. This is a band focused on telling a story with each song moreso than just trying to write the heaviest death metal out there. “- Metal Injection

“Edmonton’s Sadistic Embodiment Channel Their Disdain for the Modern World on ‘Blood Spell'” – Exclaim!

“Canadian metal outfit Sadistic Embodiment are gearing up for their new album, Blood Spell, out September 18th via CDN Records. The follow-up to their three consecutive EP’s Beloved Imprisonment (2019), Blodörn (2018), and Self-Titled (2018) is promised to be a continuation of their ruthless death diversity ranging from similarities of Gojira, Rotting Christ, to Bloodbath and Kataklysm.” – Metal Insider

“The album weaves back and forth between thrash and full-on death metal, with surging hooks aplenty and a good deal of genuine catchiness – especially over the album’s front half – topped by the bark, growls and shrieks of bassist Curtis Vieville and guitarists Wally Fischer and Jason Cullen.” – Metal Rules

“Pure and unadulterated death metal is at hand in the band’s assault, but don’t expect it to dull your senses as it continues. There’s a number of dark melodies that weave their way into the sound and craft some catchy moments that keep it brutal but still quite memorable. Not to mention some heavy grooves (see “Flesh Deposition”) that are definitely going to catch some ears. A rather promising debut for extreme music fans to dig into.” – DeadRhetoric

“I can honestly say that SADISTIC EMBODIMENT would rip apart any venue with their music and all the crowd would be screaming along. SADISTIC EMBODIMENT is on the up, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for this powerhouse of a band. 10/10”  – Metal Temple

“By the time “Cerebral Termination” hits, “Blood Spell” isn’t a record you want to reach a conclusion. The tracks get better and better as it plays through from high quality starting point and the ideas and nuances just keep coming. Another one with seriously impressive lead work, it fades out all too soon. 8.5/10” – Metal Noise

“this is a meaty chunk of Death Metal… The songs are mostly mid-paced and full of pummeling, grooving riffs and unrelenting heaviness, but what helps set this apart from the masses are the startling tremolo sections and some deeply impressive lead work, which contains a keen sense of melody along with a degree of musicality that you don’t often see in the genre… an enjoyable release from a talented band, and fans of more technical Death Metal will want to give it a listen. 3.75/5” – The Metal Crypt
