0 MANIC MOSH – Without Mercy – This truly is an album of seismic proportions…

MANIC MOSH – Without Mercy This truly is an album of seismic proportions… “Disinfect The Soul” is like listening to a cocktail of Pantera, Fear Factory with a splash of the band’s very own blend. The music is shaped by a multitude of timing and melody changes, thundering double-bass drums, O.T.T vocalage and some cool virtuoso guitar action, peaking on “Thunderbird”. This album may require a few spins to get accustomed to but is well worth doing so. Solid. https://manicmoshmagazine.com/metal-13.html

WingsOfDeath – Synastry – Dividing the Double Helix “Dividing The Double Helix consists of three songs (almost 13 minutes) that can best be described as a fast-paced groove-fest that will once again appeal to fans from various sub-genres. Expect heavy groovy brutality from the first note, inviting you to shake your head firmly. Old school movements on modern metal, it can be that beautiful.” https://www.wingsofdeath.net/78712-Synastry-Dividing-the-Double-Helix

0 Sanguine Glacialis – Blackening the Depths – Covering the Scene

  • April 28, 2021

  • · Sanguine Glacialis

From the chilling woods of Montreal, Quebec comes the five-person experience known as Sanguine Glacialis. Helmed by modern day scream queen, growler and operatic virtuoso Maude Théberge they’ve experimented on two albums, Dancing With A Hanged Man and their Pitch Black Sight EP, along with recent release 2018’s Hadopelagic. They’ve brought all manner of influence, slamming together uncomfortable bed fellows like jazz, classical, and swing music into the unsuspecting mosh pit, bringing new meaning to slam dancing. Sanguine Glacialis (Sangween-e Glassialis) translates to Frozen Blood in Latin, with similar meanings in French and English. While Théberge provides the regal pipes and keys bassist Marc Gervais, guitarists Jonathan Fontaine and Rémi LeGresley and drummer David Gagné-Pavy provide the ear triggering surround sound. Each song represents a customized slew of influences and ideas, mixed and poured from an inspirational molten Mulligan stew of what’s next. Hadopelagic blasts loud like a beast, literary. Whether it’s the guitars, drums or Théberge’s guttural roar bashing against the ear like deadly vast waves, smashed with lethal devastating power and force by the talon s of the sea beast. The album delivers a mighty seas tale among other lyrical tragedies as Théberge likes to go a bit haunted and dark with the pen, in two languages. Lyrically most songs are in English with some French lines, then a few all in Fr…

EPK – Deadwolff -Self-Titled

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

EP Title: Deadwolff – Self-Titled
Digital Release Date: December 18, 2020 (Boonsdale Records)
Physical Cassette Release Date: May 7, 2021 (Metal Assault Records)

For fans of Judas Priest, Triumph, Motorhead, W.A.S.P, April Wine, Tank

“This EP is an excellent glimpse into what’s to come. Who Deadwolff is, and what we’re all about. With all the bands nowadays that sound like carbon copies of each other, we knew we wanted to sound different. Sound old, but different. Something that isn’t being done these days, and we think that’s exactly what we’re doing. From our logo (the triwolff), to our tunes. From the mustaches and home-done haircuts, we know that Deadwolff is just what’s needed nowadays. A revival of some foot-tapping, beer-drinking, headbanging tunes. The DEADWOLFF EP is all of that and more, and it’s just the beginning. We’re coming out swinging. The new wave of heavy rock and roll…” – Deadwolff

“Bang your head kids the bastard songs of Tank and Motorhead are here to save the day Deadwolff is their name – Thank God!” – RPM Online

“A BAND TO TAKE AN EYE ON..A GREAT STARTER IN WAITIN’FOR THE MAIN DISH!!” – Hardrock Heavy Metal

“It’nasty in the best way” – Metal Temple

“This is the kind of stuff you want on the stereo when having a good party with friends with lots of beer and room to headbang and play air guitar. If you have an ear (or just nostalgia) for ’70s hard/heavy rock and early ’80s hard rock and heavy metal, you’re pretty much guaranteed to love this.” – The Metal Crypt

Deadwolff is a New Wave of Heavy Rock n’ Roll three-piece band based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 2020, Deadwolff is composed of Tommy Wolffe, on bass and vocals, Bobby Deuce, on guitars and backing vocals, Angus Pike on drums. In late December of 2020, Boonsdale Records released the band’s debut EP digitally. Shortly after, Deadwolff signed with Metal Assault Records, based out of Los Angeles, and released their debut EP on cassette, which sold out quickly.  Their video for the single “Double up” was also released prior to the cassette and can be viewed on several youtube channels.

As of recently, Deadwolff has been touring throughout Canada, bringing their eccentric live show and widespread loved music to electric audiences.

==================

The EP as a whole:
NWOBHM and Hard Rock with a dash of good ole fashioned Punk Rock. Crossover if you will of NWOBHM and Punk. Deadwolff refers to it as the New Wave of Heavy Rock and Roll.

Track By Track:
1. Walking On Nails is a song that is written about city life, fast love. It’s a hard-rocking tune that just makes ya wanna go out and party.

2. The second track, Double Up, is pretty straightforward. It’s a song about gambling. How good and bad it can feel. Another song that you wanna throw on repeat a couple times.

3. Pedal To The Metal is a super fun song. Definitely one of the favorites on the EP. Musically, it took the longest to write, but the lyrics seemed to flow when writing those. Knowing heartbreak, it’s easy to write about.

4. Wanted Man was the first song that was ever written for Deadwolff. It’s a song about owing money. It’s fast. Just like you need to be to dodge the debt sometimes.

5. Six To Midnight could be considered “a love song”. Musically, it’s a really fun song to play. With how the bass and guitar play off of each other, and the off-time fills during the verses, it’s definitely the wild card of the EP.
