Arcana Share Making Of Videos For Space Opera “Letters From A Lost Soul | Act I: The World One Forms”

Debut EP Out Now!

This past November, Calgary’s Arcana unveiled their debut space rock opera “Letters From A Lost Soul | Act I: The World One Forms”. The EP is a poetic and thought-provoking record that is highly detailed with layers of vocals, orchestral interludes, and a passionate story that weaves a tale of love, tragedy, and perseverance of a character named Damian.

The EP was mainly a two-man project split between founder Rogan McAndrews (guitars, bass, synths, orchestra, and vocals) and friend, drummer, and engineer Deyson Thiara (drums, reamps, mixing, mastering) in their respective home studios along with guest musicians to sing the parts of characters for the story concept.

Rogan McAndrews shares the narrative of the EP:

“This EP is a sort of love story from Damian to his wife Hope and their child Cassidy before tragedy strikes. I try to present what his anxieties and pressures are working far away from his family but also a lingering unstableness from within that is voiced by the character Nightmare that foreshadows the tragedy that is about to befall them. Throughout the “Letters from a Lost Soul” arc, Damian will be expressing all of these emotions through letters to his wife and child, the letters being the songs on each album and the characters writing back and forth.”

The first piece of many to come from Arcana in what is already a vast and colorful universe; today the band is going more in-depth on the release by sharing with fans their latest making-of videos.

The band adds:

“We wanted to open up about what our process was like, both in writing and recording the album, as well as some of our thoughts behind the story and the industry we are diving into. Not a lot of artists show all the tricks and secrets behind the technical work that went into their art. It was always my goal to give an all-access pass to whoever showed interest in Arcana, out of respect to those who enjoy the music and want to know what it is like crafting an album or would like insight into how others shape their sound and thoughts. I know that is something I am consistently intrigued by. To all those whose curiosity has brought them to this series, we hope you enjoy!”

Latest Album “Ice Cell” Out Now!

Rage In My Eyes is a technically sound heavy metal act hailing from Porto Alegre, Brazil who have a new video out for the track “Winter Dream” off the 2019 album “Ice Cell”. The video was part of the band’s participation in the Roadie Crew Online Festival – 9º Edição.

“Ice Cell” is the first album by the band under their current name; the group also released three albums under Scelerata. They originally formed in 2002 and with the recent name change has altered their sound to incorporate traditional music from South America with prog and heavy metal. Along with the cultural infusion, Rage In My Eyes brings in accordion for a truly one of a kind listening experience. Vocalist Jonathas Pozo explains the conception of “Winter Dream”:

“We had already chosen Winter Dream as the opening track, which led us to address the lyric theme in order to present a little of the icy scenery of Ice Cell, imagining the aspect of our biological and chemical origin under the influence of the morphic field theory of Rupert Sheldrake, that is, considering the presence of the past as an important constituent of our subsequent choices, as humanity. At the same time bringing in this scenario landscapes that are common in southern Brazil, such as fog, frost, and sometimes even snow. It was also chosen because it is a more cadenced and heavy song (although also extremely technical and quite proggy), thus contrasting with the usual melodic and fast opening tracks in power metal albums, representing more accurately the “musical humor” of the band.”

Overall, the album can be summed up as ‘tight’. It has great guitar riffs, fast drum parts, intricate instrumental parts, and powerful yet melodic vocals. Sometimes it leans towards prog metal, sometimes to power metal, sometimes to folk metal, sometimes to traditional metal, sometimes to thrash metal. And it still sounds like a cohesive whole, due to how well blended it all is.

Recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Helloween, and Symphony X, Rage In My Eyes brings an icy new edge to traditional power metal.

The video for “Winter Dream” can be watched on YouTube: https://youtu.be/OfB3faJoP54

With something for everyone, “Ice Cell” was released on August 14, 2019 and available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.

0 Tolkien Inspired Progressive Rock Orchestra Ainur Signs With Rockshots Records, New Album “War of The Jewels” Coming 2021

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 22, 2020

Tolkien Inspired Progressive Rock Orchestra Ainur Signs With Rockshots Records

New Album “War of The Jewels” Coming 2021

It’s been 17 years since Ainur thought to transform Tolkien’s masterpiece “The Silmarillion” into music. Each member of the band was lost in his own musical themes inspired by Tolkienian mythology. As if hypnotized, they outrageously composed themes for the main characters and started to imagine this huge concept work to which they still work on today.

Ainur has signed with Rockshots Records to release the highly anticipated “War of The Jewels”, which sees the band take an interesting evolution in sound from previous releases. Ainur will completely immerse fans in J.R.R.Tolkien’s war atmospheres. They have imagined every story and every battle and recreate them through unique and deep music. The band explains in further detail:

“We always follow the path that Tolkien himself has outlined in his tales, so we tried to create a concept that embraces the Wars of Beleriand throughout the album. Since the topic is a little bit complex this time, we thought to divide the concept into two albums: then, side by side with “Children of Hurin” and “Lay of Leithian”, they will flow into a big opera that will unite the third chapter of Wars of Beleriand and Lays of Beleriand.”

The band further comments on releasing with Rockshots Records:

“This is the first album without our historical label Electromantic. We owe a lot to Beppe and his staff, but we felt that we needed something new for our project. There were some labels interested in having us on their roster but when we talked with Roberto and Valerio from Rockshots Records we realized that that was the right way. And now that we are releasing the album we can say that we made the right choice.”

The compositional process of “War of The Jewels” has been very long. It started in 2009 (or maybe before) and it ended more or less last year. Ainur sees it as their “rebirth” album. They have been working hard composing and arranging their music to create the best tribute to Tolkien’s histories that they can.

Fans of Tolkien’s work along with fans of Ayreon, Queen, and John Williams will be surprised by the majesty and the energy of this work.

The 2021 release date for “War of the Jewels” through Rockshots Records will be announced at a later date.

RAGE IN MY EYES is a heavy metal band from Brazil. The band’s first album was recorded in 2017 and 2018, partially in Los Angeles and partially in their native Porto Alegre, Brazil. For 17 years the band went under the name Scelerata, which had a huge history in the Brazilian heavy metal scenario. The band had three albums released worldwide, including the acclaimed album “The Sniper” – partially recorded in Germany, at the Blind Guardian studio – that featured guest appearances from Paul DiAnno (former Iron Maiden) and Andi Deris (Helloween).

Scelerata was also Paul DiAnno’s official Brazilian backing band from 2009 to 2014, playing 50+ shows with this heavy metal icon. With this huge background, the musicians are now aiming for the future. RAGE IN MY EYES introduces to the world a unique kind of music. Being from southern Brazil, the band shows a side of the country most people don’t know about. Blending heavy/prog metal with elements of milonga – which is a music genre from southern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina – the band presents a never-heard metal before.

In the albums “Darkness and Light” (2006) and “Skeletons Domination” (2008) (released as Scelerata), the band had already inserted instruments such as accordion in their songs. Renowned gaucho musician Renato Borghetti recorded the harmonica on the band’s first album and accordionist Matheus Kléber was featured on the second album. In the new song, “Death Sleepers” there is again the participation of accordionist Matheus Kleber. This is a trend that should improve in the near future. This mix of styles occurs naturally, depending on the roots of the band. Magnus Wichmann, guitarist and composer of the band, is the grandson of the legendary gaucho musician Teixeirinha.

Guitarist Magnus Wichmann, the grandson of acclaimed Southern Brazilian folk musician Teixeirinha, highlights the arrangements of milonga and accordion present on the album: “In previous albums we had already added these elements and we saw that they combined very well with our style and compositions, and best of all, is that fans have approved these experiments. We want to present something new and, in the future, we will come up with more ideas.”

RAGE IN MY EYES’ new album, entitled “Ice Cell”, has just been made available on all digital platforms. “Ice Cell” was recorded between 2017 and 2018 in the cities of Los Angeles (USA) and Porto Alegre (Brazil) and was produced by Magnus Wichmann at Magneto Studio (Brazil) and Daufembach Studio (USA). It was mixed and mastered in Los Angeles by the renowned Brazilian producer Adair Daufembach. The cover was designed by Tiago Masseti, who has worked with Hibria, Luis Kalil and Daydream XI. According to the band, the graphic art seeks to show the mascot Sage in a darker mood: “We wanted to present a more realistic Sage, with a strong expression and at the same time that seemed marked by life; we brought him closer to us.”.

Drummer Francis Cassol’s recent move to the United States has helped the band strengthen relationships with producer Adair Daufembach. “Recording here in the US with Adair was an amazing experience. We have achieved impressive results in terms of sound, and I’m sure it will please our fans and metal fans in general.” Jonathas Pozo (vocals), Magnus Wichmann, and Leo Nunes (guitars), and Pedro Fauth (bass) keep the Brazilian base active and are setting the stage for the opening show for Iron Maiden on October 9 at Gremio Stadium in Porto Alegre.

“Ice Cell” is an independent release, initially out only on digital download and streaming platforms, as Jonathas Pozo explains: “We recently had a successful crowdfunding campaign that surpassed the goal and allowed us to make the ‘Death Sleepers’ video. We are looking into the possibility of a new campaign for a physical album distribution, offering different kits and packages to the fans.”

Slated for release in 2021, “Inverted Illusions” is the first full-length album from Colorado natives Scepter of Eligos. The first single “Reabsorbed” is a fresh look at the band who were more sludgy in the early days, and gradually have become more psychedelic, aggressive, and dark.

What awaits with “Reabsorbed” is a chunky battering of grimey sludge twisted together with death metal vocals, churning guitar work, and endless echoes of pulverizing bass tones that ripple through your ears like the tentacles of an angry old god that seeks its revenge through the means of festering doom. The band explains the single in their own words:

“Reabsorbed is a descent into a dark crypt which is reflected lyrically as death being a passage to oneness with the earth and soil.”

Taking inspiration from an assortment of heavy acts, ranging from death metal, doom metal, and heavy rock, they write lyrics that come from vocalist Andrew’s occult practice and readings

Formed in 2012, they are no strangers to playing in bands, the vast amount of experience they have is proven with their musicianship and cohesiveness that is evident in the music.

Listeners who are looking for metal that blurs genre lines will enjoy Scepter of Eligos especially those who like Incantation, Weedeater, and Disfear.

“Reabsorbed” can be heard via its exclusive stream premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

EPKAbout:
Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Scepter of Eligos crashes into listeners in a wave of death, doom, and psychedelic sludge. An amalgamation of heavy styles with an unique spin, Chris Candelario (bass), Frank Candelario (drums), and Andrew Sares (vocals/guitars) work collaboratively to flesh out what they describe as “Psychedelic metal of death”. To accompany their punishing music they craft lyrics based on Sares’ occult practices and readings. They take their name from Aleister Crowley’s description of Eligos; a Goetic demon that is said to appear on a winged horse holding a scepter and a serpent.

Since their conception in 2012, the musical careers of the power trio have been a whirlwind of gigs both on the local and national levels playing with bands such as The Chasm, Manilla Road, Lycus, and Bongripper garnering attention from a variety of metalheads. Thus far they have 3 releases to their name; a demo from 2013, the 2017 single “RIP Martin Eric Ain” and the 2018 EP “MMXVIII”. Pushing onward with grit and determination they will be releasing the full-length “Inverted Illusions” in 2021.

Boasting live performances that are as varied and intriguing as their music, one can expect to be overtaken by the energy and succumb to the gritty, cryptic psychedelic doom Scepter of Eligos channels from the stage.

New Album “Celestial Wisdom” Coming 2021

L-R – Devin Dewyer (Vocals), Connor McCray (Guitar, Bass, Orchestration) – Photo Credit – Cody Bucher

Inspired completely by Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Vis Mystica’s planned 2021 debut album “Celestial Wisdom” will be an epic adventure suitable for lovers of power metal throughout the galaxy.

Not sacrificing any technical musicianship, the single “The Plains of Silence” is a whirlwind of energy, catchy lyrics, and spacey riffs. The intricate storytelling is matched with the abundance of melodies and powerful vocals. Band founder Connor McCray comments on it:

“The Plains of Silence takes us back to Tython to the Silent Desert; where all sound is nullified and students can meditate on the power of the world. This was the first song I wrote for the EP and it definitely has a much more “Happy” feel than many of the other songs I’ve written.”

Vis Mystica offers escapism from everyday life, transporting listeners into a fantastical world of magical powers and epic stories. Even taking great influence from other bands, they possess a style that is unique and holds its own in the power metal landscape. The album is a fantastical journey into a world full of mystic powers and sprawling landscapes, with a classic ‘Good vs. Evil’ battle and many memorable locations and detailed stories.

Vis Mystica was initially formed by Connor McCray, in late 2015 as a creative outlet to pursue his passion for Symphonic Power Metal while he was still a member of a blackened death metal band at the time.

Highly suggested for fans of Blind Guardian, Symphony X and Wintersun, “The Plains of Silence” is already out and can be obtained through the band links on YouTube and Spotify.

The album “Celestial Wisdom” will be released in early 2021.

0 Québec’s Drown In The Abyss Emerge To Pull You Asunder With Chaotic Single “Rising From The Tides”

  • December 21, 2020

  • · Drown In The Abyss · Music News

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 21, 2020

For fans of Shadow of Intent, Lorna Shore, Signs of The Swarm, Thy Art Is Murder

Québec’s Drown In The Abyss Emerge To Pull You Asunder With Chaotic Single “Rising From The Tides”

Single Co-Produced by Chris Wiseman (Shadow of Intent), Mixed and Mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy)

Both epic and brutal, Drown In The Abyss founded by Alexandre Lavoie with Sam Caron, mixes Lavoie’s love for video game music with deathcore to bring you a listening experience that is refreshing in its aggression and blend of styles.

As the band names suggest, the thematic elements of the debut track are about sea creatures invading our lands on earth. The duo tells an imaginative story, filled with destruction and chaos. While there may be some hints of real social events or politics, they are highly metaphoric.

“Rising From The Tides” is the first song the band wrote, with the help of Chris Wiseman from Shadow Of Intent and Currents. Overall, it has been a while in the works, but now the final product is ready to wash over listeners around the world and drench them in a dark and abrasive new sound. Lavoie comments on the process:

“This has been a pretty long process because of some life events, but a very fun and informative one. I used to produce Hip-Hop beats and this is way different. In Hip-Hop, everything is a pattern that repeats itself with minor changes in different sections, in metal, it’s a whole new level of production. You have so many things to write, arrange, and mix. This was for me, a big learning experience and this album is going to help me a lot on my producing / mixing journey.”

The juxtaposition that the band balances cannot be understated. Those who enjoy deathcore and death metal mashed with an orchestra will take interest in Drown In The Abyss especially current fans of Shadow of Intent, Lorna Shore and Signs of the Swarm.

The debut single and title track co-produced by Chris Wiseman (Shadow of Intent) plus mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) from the forthcoming 2021 album is now available as of December 18th, 2020 on the following links:

About:
Drown In The Abyss was formed in Québec, Canada by Alexandre Lavoie. An unrelenting barrage of chaos and brutal riffs, it takes form as a symphonic deathcore band with lyrical themes primarily revolving around huge creatures of the abyss invading dry land.

Born in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec, Lavoie started producing music in 2017 making hip-hop beats. His passion for metal and playing guitar slowly came back and he left the hip hop genre for something more brutal and epic. Film music has always been one of the most inspiring music genres for him, so he wanted to introduce the orchestra behind the brutal riffs.

After playing guitar for nearly seven years, he decided to form his own band with the help of his vocalist friend, Sam Caron. Thus Drown In The Abyss was born. Part horror, part orchestra, but entirely heavy, the band is a force to be reckoned with.

In 2021, they will release their introductory album “Rising From The Tides” and on December 18, 2020, they will reveal the debut single and the title track, which was co-produced by Chris Wiseman (Shadow of Intent) plus mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy).

This past November, Edmonton, Canada’s Juliet Ruin excited fans with their new single “Dark Water”. Their first of many new sounds to come since releasing their highly praised 2019 album “Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos”.

The hot new track features a guest guitar solo from their good friend Diego Fernandez (Eye of Horus) and is the preview to their next EP of the same title that will arrive in 2021. The upcoming EP represents a step into a heavier domain continuing on with the low-tuned guitars along with taking a slightly different direction from originally three vocalists to one with frontwoman Jess Ruin fully taking over vocals.

In continuation of promoting the single, Juliet Ruin drummer Jesse Bauman is showcasing his behind the scenes playing on the track with a playthrough video, which can be viewed via its premiere on Sonic Perspectives HERE.

Bauman adds:

“For our new single Dark Water, we had discussed showcasing a significantly harder side we haven’t explored yet. With that in mind, I had a vision for the drums the second that I heard that opening guitar riff. Heavy, hard hitting and driving. Dark Water didn’t require 300bpm blast beats or mind bending polyrhythms, the song screamed simplicity with flair. From the funky hit hats, to the heavy double kick, I feel like the drums in Dark Water are a perfect blend of KISS (keep it simple, stupid) and Djent. “

Juliet Ruin is recommended for anyone who enjoys heavy and melodic metal with powerful vocals, especially those who already have The Agonist, Jinjer, and Killswitch Engage in rotation.

“Dark Water” is available on Spotify, Apple Music.

Lyric Video can be viewed here.

About:
Juliet Ruin was formed in 2015 from the ashes of previous project Fiction of Fate with the desire to fuse metal sound with clean technical vocal stylings in a way that is both beautiful and beastly.

Clean and spirited, Juliet Ruin is comprised of Jess Ruin (lead vocals), Kent Geislinger – (guitar/backing vocals), Wesley Rands (guitar), Cody Reid (bass/backing vocals) and Jesse Bauman (drums); creating an original sound chock full of catchy hooks that convey a fresh and emotive feel to their heavy music.

Juliet Ruin took the obligatory first step with their debut self titled EP in 2017 and quickly made their way through the local scene, captivating audiences with high energy interactions that evoke emotion, vulnerability and power over various local gigs and appearing at several festivals over their flourishing career.

The next exciting step for Juliet Ruin was the release of their first full-length album ‘Old Stardust, Love and Chaos’ in 2019 that showcased more technical and heavy instrumentation, including some dabbling in low tuned 7 string guitars. The lead vocals also on that release increased in volume of screams and clean techniques with complimented pop-esque power vocals.

Fast-forwarding to 2020, the age of Covid, things have been tough, no touring, no fans to perform in front of, but not seeing it as a lost cause, Juliet Ruin came together to do what they do best, uniting their love for the music and writing new bangers for current fans and new ones to come. Juliet Ruin is very excited to be kicking off 2021 with a new EP “Dark Water” with the first single off the record and title track to be released during November 2020.

“Every band needs to find that element which connects them with a fanbase, and Juliet Ruin has done that early on in their career.” – V13

“Pre-album single “Spite” that features a Sprite logo is also reminiscent of “Cloud Factory” era Jinjer with an excellent vocal range on show. Blending riffs seamlessly with gravity defying leaps between sub-genres from classic Metal to Hard Rock to Metalcore, it’s a nice twist on the conventional approach.” – Metal Noise

“If you are into Halestorm, Jinjer, Killswitch Engage you are gonna fall in love with this group not just a bit. But madly and deeply! Grab a hold of this gem of a release on the 6th of September you aint gonna regret it , cos Juliet Ruin aint gonna “Ruin” ya day they are gonna make it !! ” – The Metal Gods Meltdown

“From hardrock, to metalcore and everythign in between, Juliet Ruin delivers a fun and interesting record with many sounds, attitudes and emotions.” – Heavy New York

“Juliet Ruin’s sound is comparable to a muddier version of Alexisonfire, with Ruin guiding the songs with her powerful voice while being backed up by Geislinger’s harsh screams and growls…. Juliet Ruin has been gaining more recognition after every concert with its single “Rogue Down” receiving a nomination at the Edmonton Music Awards.” – Vue Weekly (2017)

This past November, Halifax, Canada’s Ancient Thrones unleashed their concept album “The Veil”. The full length is 57-minute descent into the afterlife telling the story of grief that people can relate to through dark and progressive blackened death.

Ancient Thrones explains:

“The record is a concept record so it’s meant to be listened to in its entirety to get the full experience of the story. Even the songs were written and laid out in a way that they seamlessly transition into each other. Almost as if it was just one long piece of music broken up into separate parts as tracks. We want people to headbang and mosh, but we also want to bring people on a journey through this world of purgatory and grief and understand each phase of grief the record represents through the 10 tracks.”

Today, in support of “The Veil”, bassist Matt Leblanc is sharing his playthrough for the track “The Millionth Grave”.

“We keep the energy high right out of the gate in this one following off of the high energy of The Sight of Oblivion. Bit more of a thrashy vibe in this one, but we introduce some half-time heavier sections throughout the song to inject some groove and dynamics to keep things fresh. And then we end with more intensity.”

To view “The Millionth Grave” bass playthrough, please visit Bass Magazine for its premiere HERE.

Recommended for fans of Revocation, The Red Chord, and The Black Dahlia Murder, “The Veil” is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.

About:

Ancient Thrones, formerly “Abysseral Throne”, is a locally acclaimed blackened metal outfit that rebranded to suit major changes in line-up and songwriting.

Formed in 2011, they quickly went to work to establish themselves among their scene and gained local notoriety eventually allowing them the opportunities to open for renowned metal acts from across the globe.

Sean Hickey (drums/vocals) is the sole original founder of Abysseral remaining, Matt LeBlanc joined in 2015 on bass and improved and refined the sound and operation drastically. Once they lost their original singer and guitar player Jonny Rains, Dylan Wallace joined and took over main songwriting duties. Hickey took over completely on vocals with a black/death metal vocal style, and Nick Leslie joined shortly after on the second guitar. Work began on writing a new album which took about 3 months to write the music for. The new material sparked the name change to Ancient Thrones as an homage to one of Hickey’s favorite bands and inspirations, Wolves in the Throne Room.

In 2013 the band released its debut record and its subsequent follow-up in 2016, “Storming The Black Gate”, which was nominated for an East Coast Music Award. Ancient Thrones have toured throughout Canada, and played at several festivals, sharing the stages with bands such as Silverstein, The Agonist, Black Crown Initiate, and Skull Fist.

2020 sees the release of the concept album “The Veil” showcasing the band’s desire for storytelling and pushing them to new heights musically. The new album explores the journey of a man faced with tragedy, his mortality and ultimately the permanence of our actions told through technical soundscapes and haunting atmosphere.

“A full-throttle attack, the song (The Sight of Oblivion) delivers bludgeoning rhythms, vicious darting and slashing guitar-work, scorching blackened shrieks, and cold-hearted roars.” – No Clean Singing

“Nearly an hour in length, The Veil earns that run-time with crisply-written compositions and an arsenal of sky-ripping riffs. The acoustic reprieve of “Sentient” and melodic grief of “Permanent” reveal the album’s heavy heart. But the album conjures strength from those pensive moments. Rife with nimble axe-work from Dylan Wallace and Nick Leslie, The Veil never succumbs to the solemnity of its subject. The Veil remains an impactful listen down to its final dying note.” – Decibel Magazine

“Canadian band Ancient Thrones perform a combination of black, death and thrash metal with some progressive tendencies on The Veil. They have similarities to Skeletonwitch, but have an even more dynamic sound.” – Heavy Music Headquarters – Ancient Thrones

“The prize for most ambitious album of 2020 already has the name of Ancient Thrones carved in marble.” – Scream Blast Repeat

“a 57-minute descent into purgatory….” – Permafrost Today

“The Sight of Oblivion and The Millionth Grave are steeped in ferociousness and savagery as only a band well versed in blackened death metal are capable of producing.8.5/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“an album filled with pummeling riffs, intricate song structures, and technical musicianship… fans of more epic and melodic Black/Death will want to give The Veil a listen. 4/5” – The Metal Crypt

After two solid single releases, Canada’s Within Nostalgia is streaming their new album “Void and Decay”. This album follows up their debut album “Conjuring A New Reality”, which was released in 2019. Taking the reins as a duo, they have forged forward continuing to weave dark melodies and haunting riffs together to create a sound that is intriguing in its uniqueness.

Refusing to be restricted to a single sub-genre, Within Nostalgia flirts with a wide range of influences, including black, doom, and death. The band comments on the album:

“We’re very excited to put this release out. Not only for fans but for ourselves as well since we’ve really found our sound and direction. You can obviously tell there is a black metal influence but it’s so much more than that on this album. We’ve really embraced the strangeness of our sound and let go of any preconceived notation of what “metal” is to us.”

Citing that their writing process has changed considerably since they first began, Within Nostalgia takes unbridled emotion and shapes it into something tangible and enjoyable for listeners.

“Void & Decay” is a dark album, having a lot to do with the current state of our society. Within Nostalgia put a lot of pain and anger in this album that was inside of them, perhaps subconsciously and through that, they found some strange positive light.

Recommended for fans of My Dying Bride, Nachtmystium, and Enslaved, the full album “Void & Decay” is now streaming via its exclusive premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

The full album “Void & Decay” comes out on December 18, 2020.

““Desideratum” encompasses a variety of both moods and musical styles. Its rhythmic propulsion is viscerally compelling and its hook-laden melodies are both evocative and memorable.” – No Clean Singing

“…this one is getting a 9. There is a clear step to the next level and the solidifying of a band’s goals and sounds. I will be eagerly anticipating their next full length—I have no doubt it will blow me away. The path that “Void & Decay” has set them upon will only bring success.” – Metal Temple
