Arrival of Autumn announce they will be performing Alberta dates in Calgary on May 15th and Lethbridge on May 16th in support of their latest album ‘Shadows’ released last year and available on Bandcamp here.

In additional news, the band has posted their new video ‘Like Fire’, a track that talks about the correlation of a dangerous relationship and a fire that consumes and injures the body. The video was filmed by Nathan Fast at The Grande Prairie Live Theatre back in November 2014 to a packed room of energetic faces giving the viewer a sense of the atmosphere that night.

About:
Since early 2011, Grand Prairie, AB’s Arrival of Autumn has been shaking up the Canadian prairies with their heavy riffs, hooky vocals and speed demon double kicks. Their versatile headbanging tunes has made them accessible to fans of rock to the most hardcore death metal moshpit.
A band name inspired by Opeth lyric’s (thanks to drummer Ty Fox) and influenced by various genres ranging from melodic death to groove metal to progressive to rock n’ roll, AOA’s catalogue has grown rapidly with two self-releases in 2014. First it was their debut EP ‘Endless Nights’ in March followed by their ten track full length ‘Shadows’ in September.
“We are just trying to make a record that’s a little different than what’s going on at the moment. It’s no secret there is an abundance of the exact same thing floating around and we would never add to that. We wanted to give them something exciting and different to listen to. The good thing about our album is you can take any 3 songs put them together and it’s great. Our CD doesn’t rely on having only a few good songs. Every song has the potential to be a single. It can be received any way and people will get what AOA is all about.” comments AOA vocalist Ty Fox.
Touching on personal issues to triumphing demons as a band, ‘Shadows’ with a dash of dark lyrics and tracks such as The Court Of Owls to There’s No Angels Here to the infectious chorus of Like Fire demonstrates AOA are not just evolving, but are a live force raging to be discovered by the masses.

About:
The band is a three piece consisting of Trayne Rekk on Bass/Vocals/Stupidity, TimTim plucking Guitar/Vocals and Jordan Stubbs on Drums. Rarely sober the band’s infectious music invites even the most conservative wall flower to act stupid. One would expect the band to have influences like KISS, SLAYER, and Iron Maiden, but Trayne blames Hank Willams Jr. for much of his blue collar topics.
Puttin’On The Foil’s signature sound starts with Hank Williams, toss in some Ramones, thickened with Motorhead, and a dash of Nashville Pussy gives it that good time feel. Fans can be sure to understand the bands incredibly love of a good time from their music and live shows.

Vancouver, BC’s WITHIN RUST have posted a new video for their track ‘Interstate’, which is also available for pay what you want download here. ‘Interstate’ is one of many tracks being released on the band’s upcoming yet to be titled debut full length with producer Travis Saunders (Secret and Whisper, Young Sparrows, Jess Penner). The video is a collage of live footage from the band’s summer tour last year across the American West coast.
Lead vocalist/ keyboardist Nolen Scott comments:
“’Interstate’ started as a poorly played ‘The Bends’ era Radiohead type demo I sent to Matt (guitarist), which he and eventually Lewis (drums) and John (bass) then overhauled into a far better song. Lyrically it deals with the disconnect I felt coming home from a summer of touring. I had nobody waiting for me, no purpose and didn’t feel like I’d accomplished a hell of a lot. There was a crushing weight that told me that if we didn’t throw everything we had at these next songs, I’d be dealing with that feeling for the rest of my life. Because of that I knew ‘Interstate’ was the right one to set the tone before we start releasing official singles.”

Within Rust are four guys who started in a Vancouver suburb garage in 2012 blending progressive with alternative rock to write moody and dark, angry and fast, desperate and lost— loveable bipolar songs. Their tracks such as “Rorschach”, a clear ode to 90’s post-hardcore a la At The Drive In along with “The Taking”, a Killers-esque indie track with a nod to Pink Floyd plus an Ok Computer-era Radiohead sensibility with some Rush added to the mix, serves fans with a strange but accessible sonic cocktail not to be missed.
