“30 minutes of pummelling, groove-laden metal.” – BeatRoute

“Pacifist” is a straight to the point no nonsense heavy hitting debut.” – Extreme Metal Television

“Leave the Living can clearly write and play angry, politically-charged, thrash-tinged groove metal.” – Echoes And Dust

“The album started with their track “Let Go” which I thought was a great opening track for the album. They really showed off their talent with this track and it prepared the listeners for how the rest of the album is.” – Canadian Beats

“the Red Deer fivesome are happy to get down and dirty with their dark, breakneck-fast, unrelenting brand of metal…Leave The Living have kicked the metal market in the scrotum with a seriously hard record that’s worth listening to if pacy extreme metal is your thing.” – #Five Albums

“Self Released metal that is very groove oriented with big melodic emphasis on guitar riffs. Fans of Lamb of God will enjoy their song writing.” Headbang or GTFO

Red Deer, AB groove metal five piece Leave The Living bring forth a blue-collar work ethic when it comes to making the ground shake before them. Gearing up for their 2015 debut album ‘Pacifist’ to follow up their 2012 self titled EP, LTL is looking forward to breaking necks with their punishing riffs and incredible breakdowns backed by wrenching screams and a heavier more brutal groove assault.

“We hope that old fans of the band are going to enjoy how much heavier the music has gotten since the EP and how much everyone in the band has grown as musicians. At the core we want people to really enjoy the new single and the new album. Tap their feet, move their heads, have a visceral response to it.” says vocalist Justin Shadows. “The lyrics are also inspired from a combination of things such as life experiences (Word of A Whore), insecurities (Undone), things I’ve read about (Manifesto) or any other manner of things that made me want to write. The meaning behind the album is that if we give up our right to express ourselves and dissent from popular opinion, then we deserve to live in a police state. That is it. We have the right to question our governments and ourselves. If we choose not to then we have no right to complain when the act in ways contrary to our beliefs.”

Evolving significantly since inception, LTL has taken major steps to bring their songwriting to a higher level, collaborating closer as a band to make a heavier sound plus map out a new album and more that fans old and new, locally and internationally will be anxious to hit the mosh pit to support.

“We sat down with the songs we had completed and tried to map out how we wanted the album to flow. We kept reworking it until we were happy with it. You can expect a lot more music for sure. We already have a bunch of new music in the works.”

Leave The Living is recommended for fans of Pantera, Lamb of God, Gojira, As I Lay Dying, Arsis.

“Prepare your claw hand for one of the most evil releases of 2016! June 17th will mark the official release of Helleborus’ debut LP The Carnal Sabbath, but they are already on their way to winning the hearts of black metal fans around the globe.” – Metal Injection

“I regularly champion for the use of more pitchshifters in metal and Helleborus have granted my wishes. With a Wraith of the Ropes type quality in the vocals, they give tracks like “Coils” and the sinister “Colored Spores of Yuggoth” a bleaker edge, forgoing the expected high shrieks. Melodic overtones only provide a domineering sense of pure evil and have my eyes on Helleborus in the coming years.” – Loudwire

“I will forever embrace quality underground Metal, especially underground Black Metal. Helleborus have without question, tapped into my Black Metal psyche with their new song. I honestly cannot stop listening to Coils.” Metal Odyssey

“The chiming riffs and exotic lead guitar melodies in “Coils” do indeed generate an air of mysticism that surrounds the song, but the music also rocks very hard. The thundering drums and rumbling bass rhythms give the song a sense of tangible power, and the jagged, howling vocals cut like a serrated knife. It’s a bulldozer as well as a spellcaster. As you’re about to find out, the song is also catchy as hell, and it should hold special appeal to fans of bands such as The Devil’s Blood, Satyricon, and Belphegor.” – No Clean Singing

“I’ve always been interested in the dynamic of bands with siblings in the line-up. How those who shared so much of their entire lives come together creatively, the bond they have, how they work together, how things are managed when non-relatives are brought into the picture and so on and so forth. KEN Mode, Valkyrie, Gojira, Skeletonwitch, Obituary, Sepultura, Oasis, Heart…the list goes on and on. Now, you can add Colorado black metal entity, Helleborus to the list. Featuring brothers Jerred (all instruments) and Wyatt (vocals and lyrics) Houseman, Helleborus is a black metal band in the tradition of Satyricon, Septic Flesh and Dark Fortress” – Decibel Magazine

“They are full of Psychedelic Black Metal on a whole new level of crazy! Overall ‘The Carnal Sabbath’ is not a bad little piece of music, the instrument work is good and the demonic noises are clear. This is one for any Metal DJ to begin nightclub or air wave onslaught with.” – 925 Rebellion

“This is one of the strongest albums I’ve ever heard from a band that isn’t very well known, and I know that you’ll be playing it on repeat if you give it a chance.” – Metal Temple

Conceived within the womb of Execration, Helleborus is the latest emanation of Jerred & Wyatt Houseman. Like the enigmatic and deadly winter flower from which the project takes its name, Helleborus pushes the exploration of traditional black metal into the uncharted territory of sensual duality and mysticism. Building on their professional experience with Execration and personal experiences through Akhenaten, the Houseman brothers sought a deeper expression of their experiential-driven musical style that audiences can connect with through a union of opposites.

“We’ve always had a vision for the type of black metal project Helleborus would be. We wanted to explore and deliver a darker and yet more romantic side of black metal. There is an unknown side of metal that is masculine and powerful, yet sensual and respectful; controlled chaos.” comments vocalist Wyatt Houseman.

Their debut album “The Carnal Sabbath” set for release on June 17, 2016 via Satantha Records and Black Plague Records is a Bacchic frenzy of carnal abandon told through lascivious guitars and tempting bass rhythms. Elements of black, death and doom metal combine to provide a vast backdrop for an ambiance of potential and possibility. Fans of The Devil’s Blood, Satyricon, Necorphobic, Belphegor, Blut Aus Nord are sure to be seduced by Helleborus.

Album Band Line Up features: Wyatt (vocals, lyrics) & Jerred Houseman (producer, all instruments)

Live Band Line Up features: Brent Boutte’ – Drums, Jerred Houseman – Guitar & leads, Wyatt Houseman – Voice, Ian Horenman – guitar & rhythms

About:

Farmageddon Open- Air was conceived in 2012 by Tyson Travnik whom is recognized in the Alberta metal scene through sound engineering duties and promotional services. After noticing the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, Travnik wanted to re-create the intimate setting and host a festival with no internal borders in the Edmonton area.

After two very successful years, Farmageddon Open Air has proven to be one of the most prestigious metal open-air festivals in Canada with quality production that has been highly regarded by bands and patrons alike. The festival falls into a special category with Travnik setting goals of bringing in top-shelf bands that rarely, if ever play Canada. The costs of doing so are reflected in the ticket price with maximum attendance numbers not being something on the agenda. Keeping an intimate setting between the bands and their fans along with growth of the metal sub-culture to aid in promoting some of the hardest working bands in the country is at the forefront of Farmageddon’s priority.

Each year, the festival has hosted over 30 bands, with the request reaching as far as Europe and Asia. Farmageddon prides itself in only selecting the bands that the organizers feel have proven themselves worthy of the festival. This is not based on show attendance figures, but rather by judging the work ethic of the band throughout the previous year. With many new features and additions planned for Farmageddon 2015, organizers are pushing forward to double the attendance numbers from 2014.

2014 Line Up included:
Havok, Wretched, Dark Forest, Sanktuary, Psychotic Gardening, Death Toll Rising, Tyrant’s Demise, Eyam, Without Mercy, Scimitar, Scythia, Vile Insignia, Kyoktys, Gatekrashor, , Kryosphere, Eye Of Horus, Mortillery, Ironstorm, Moosifix, Bloated Pig, Armifera, Witch Of The Waste, Monarch Sky, Druidus, Skymir, Hazzerd, Cryptosis, Gales Of Avalon, Mongol, Riot City, Display Of Decay, After Earth, Demise Without Reason, Grendel’s Awakening, Last Horizon, Idolatry, Bleed

After co-founding member Steven “Steve-In” Breen decided to part ways with MUTANK in January to return to his hometown of St. John’s, NL, the Montreal based thrashers and 2014 Wacken Metal Battle Canada winners found themselves in search of a new machine to fire up the fret boards.

In a statement issued by the band:

“The selection process wasn’t easy by any means. Breen was such an enormous presence, regarding one a of a kind writing style, a flawless, yet savage stage performance and overall possessing the ideal chemistry the band needed to grow and evolve.

We aren’t just musicians in this band, we clearly are lunatics with instruments, and we need the type who can juggle swords and laugh about their scars later.

Standing apart during initial auditions was Jordan Kelly, a previous band mate of front man Stephen “Steve Out” Reynolds, also hailing from Newfoundland who had relocated to Montreal to further his musical career.

Being well versed in many underground styles, with a proven road ready dedication and drive with musical ability to match, the band decided on Jordan even before Breen had left Montreal.

Keeping the “M.E.C.H. Metal” spirit as true as ever, MUTANK with our members current and past, are continuing to bust heads and wreak havoc on the scene.

We had a lot of interest shown when Breen had made his choice to split final, and to those who had came down to audition – we say TANK MU! We are honoured to have had such great energy from distinctly styled guitarists who had tried out.

Stay tuned for upcoming concert announcements, tonnes of heavy new music and more in the very near future.

You’ve been warned……”

About:

Listen up! You want mosh happy crossover-thrash from another planet? Fast riffs? Rippin’ solos? Then stop giving a fuck what other people think and prepare for some neck aerobics from Montreal, QC’s MUTANK!

Formed when three Newfoundlanders crossed paths in the Canadian heavy metal capital with Ahmed Saad who hails from the Middle East, the injection of music immediately began to flow through their veins and M.E.C.H. metal was soon born.

“It stands for Middle East Coast Heavy Metal; Our drummer being from the Middle East and the rest of the members being from the east coast of Canada,” explains Stephen Reynolds (bass, vocals).

It also just so happens to be the title of the band’s debut album ‘M.E.C.H. Metal’, which features eight monumental thrash tracks that will either make you want to punch something or just plain dance while delivering thoughtful, honest lyrics for those who wish to look deeper.

“Every single person in this band is a songwriter, so the songs come out with their own feel and develop naturally.’ continues Reynolds. ‘We don’t shackle ourselves to any kind of focused idea, which brings about a sort of honesty in the music not often found in metal.’

M.E.C.H. Metal was unleashed on February 1, 2014 with the video ‘Heavy Hand of The Doomsday Clock‘ and is available on the band’s bandcamp here.

Quick Fact: MUTANK are the 2014 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions being judged by industry music reps #1 out of over 100 Canadian bands to rep Canada at the international Metal Battle in Wacken, Germany during 2014’s Wacken Open Air Fest (the largest in the world).

“WAR is a vicious sonic attack… [M.E.C.H. Metal] it’s a ferocious delight.” – Powerplay Magazine UK

“[MUTANK] fuse old school speed metal and present day crossover thrash into one package of fun.” – Metalhorizons

“MUTANK is like a Coffee Crisp bar: crunchy as hell, and without any gooey center.” – Bucket List Music Reviews

“Fans of old school speed metal and more metallically oriented crossover thrash should check out the compact and intense 25-minute speedbomb that is “M.E.C.H. Metal”.” – Metal Music Archives

“I personally think [M.E.C.H. Metal] could be contender for best album of the year!”- High Speed Hangover

“M.E.C.H. Metal is fast. Of course, the dual guitars’ riffs are aggressive and complementary; and drums are as constant as the caterpillars tracks of a tank; but the album gets its real flavour via the pace of the songs and their short and simple structure. Ranging from 1:57 to 4:03, this is an album that explodes in our face in less than 25 minutes, with a remarkable intensity.” – Metal Made In Canada
