“Very quickly I became a fan of the band through the work of their vocalist Dalyn. His voice is quite unique, being both strangely death metal low and deathcore high at the same time. The riff work of Ryan “Carbomb” Sorensen, and bassist Kevin Student brought a nice brand of brutality with the occasional bit of melody, while Joel Zimmerman (no, not THAT Joel Zimmerman) blasted beautifully on the drums. This is one band that I know Crown of Viserys will be following from here on out. They outright kick ass, and I am honestly a bit surprised they didn’t win.” – Crown of Viserys regarding the Edmonton Wacken Metal Battle Canada (2015)

Biography
Windy City Slaughter draw up dark imagery through their deafening lows, breakdowns, and occasional pig squeals but the lyrical content defies the genre norm by challenging one to face their greatest fears and overcome them.
Their name is meant to draw up a fear of a rogue serial killer, or a furious storm that is unforgiving. This humble four piece hailing from Grande Prairie, Alberta began in 2012 and has been steadily outgrowing their deathcore genre label by delving into more traditional metal compositions. The band is comprised of Kevin S. on bass, The Zim on drums, and Carbomb as their leading guitarist. Windy City Slaughter is committed to developing their live performance as an engaging and loud act that will lure fans from any metal genre. The band plans to tour eastern Canada June 2015 and has currently released a demo and a full length called ‘Alpha’. Make sure to catch this hurricane of brutal metal as they trek across Canada.

“Extinction Necromance is a release which wholly captivates whilst hitting the listener with a tsunami of malevolent sound and intent.” – Ring Master Review
“Xul is a up and coming blackened death metal band that certainly have all the chops necessary to hang with the big boys like Behemoth.” – That Metal Station
“Their latest four track EP, ‘Extinction Necromance’, spanning thirty minutes, is an energetic offering packed with crushing rhythms that morph into atmospheric passages, accompanied by waves of pummelling percussion and vicious vitriolic vocals all with an underlying aura of malevolence.” – Metal Talk
“When you have a band who takes all the best elements of Death Metal and Black Metal without being cliche or too big for their britches, THAT’S a winning combination. Such is the case with Vernon, British Columbia’s own XUL, a five-piece metal machine hell-bent on watching the world burn….XUL has what it takes to gain themselves legions of new followers in the Blackened Death realm with each coming record. I’m very excited to see what happens next. Extinction Necromance is out May 19, so don’t delay!! STANDOUT TRACKS: ALL OF THEM” – Amps and Green Screens
“Black Metal fans, get ready- XUL is ready to take over the world and their latest record,Extinction Necromance- may help them do just that. In the vein of bands like Behemoth and Immortal, XUL could be the next big thing in the genre and Extinction Necromance is the perfect follow up to their last record- Malignanceand picks up right where they left off a few years ago.” – The Front Row Report
“Chaos Requiem’ is my favourite track from this release. A guitar sound captured well again by Jeff Bryan and delivered supremely by the band. What separated this track from the rest for me was how the vocals were delivered with a connection to the drums and guitar riffs, there was a greater natural feeling – not a second was wasted and attention was demanded throughout….Xul clearly have riffs by the bucket load though. Any fans of Behemoth and Dissection must check this band out.” Taste of Khaos Magazine
“This new CD contains 4 tracks forged in a quite peculiar and solid mix of death metal and black metal. Actually, these musicians took the best lines and structures from both genres and added a very provocative dose of technical metal and morbid vocals; the result is superlative as you never get bored with these large tracks. Everything is tied by high quality structures and for moments they developed some excellent sections in the vein of progressive stuff, and that gives a particular taste as all tracks sound quite balanced. Also, I have to say that they don’t forget the true spirit of metal music and you can hear thick roots of epic lines here and there. My total support is for bands like this one who really know how to deliver good things and build aggressive metal music with class and good taste.” – Zombie Ritual Zine

Calgary hardcore noisemakers FALL CITY FALL are hitting the road with Edmonton’s Slum Lord for the No Parents, No Rules Tour that will see them embark across Canada from British Columbia to Quebec this coming June and July in support of their latest album 2013’s ‘Victus’ released on Victory Records plus promoting new material from their follow up set to be released later this year. The band also plans to give fans exclusive free download cards during the tour at the door of each concert for a new single that will be heard only live and later released online.
“There have been a lot of hardships within the past year for us as a band, but they’ve helped us grow and put us in the right mind set. With everything that’s happened whether it be member changes or writing and recording our new record at Rain City Studio with Stu Mckilliop, I think we owe it to our fans to come out and show them what we’ve been working so hard on, show them that we’re are still dedicated to fucking shit up and that this is not the end. There’s still a lot of fight left in us and we came to make waves.” comments vocals Keenan Pylychaty.
About:
Providing the remedy for today’s monotonous hardcore scene, FALL CITY FALL will not be ignored. The ultra-dynamic five piece band’s unforgiving, commanding sound is unleashed unto the world. With conviction in their hearts and balled up fists, they’ve dedicated their purpose to changing the music scene forever.
Like most bands, FALL CITY FALL began humbly in 2008 as a small project between three best friends in their hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With duel-vocalists, Nathan Zorn and Keenan Pylychaty leading the pack, guitarist Jordon Storey, drummer Nathan Pope and bassist Andre Urquidi, have mastered their crafts, complimenting the vocals with technical riffs and hard-hitting melodies. Picking up steam, they began to collect a very loyal fan base as they continued to play local shows for friends and family. Broadcasting their hardworking attitudes, they quickly became known for their wildly energetic performances and continued to book shows all over Canada. Taking a very large step away from the typical bands of today,FALL CITY FALL stands for unison in the music scene; playing music from the heart and expanding musical horizons.
Releasing their first EP, 1629, in 2010, FALL CITY FALL had finally created the finely-tuned, perfected sound they had been searching for. Revealing their unique blend of low growls, mid-screams, and clean vocals, they had successfully married progressive, hardcore and alternative to form a subgenre of metal that leaves crowds speechless in the best way. Hungry for more, they delivered the Dead Saints EP, solidifying their spot as one of the most prolific hardcore bands to hail from Calgary. Drawing in hundreds on their own, they have performed alongside bands such as THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, SILVERSTEIN, ARCHITECTS and label-mates COUNTERPARTS, showcasing their unrivaled energy to thousands across North America.
Preparing for world domination, FALL CITY FALL released their first full length release from Victory Records. Described as their most “intimate” and “intense” project yet, the alternative world greeted Victus with an overwhelming response, upon its release on January, 22nd 2013. Applauded for their honesty and the raw intensity of the vocals, Victus set FALL CITY FALL apart from their hardcore contenders, proving that with passion and conviction, anything is possible. In an industry full of musicians willing to compromise, FALL CITY FALL stands strong, dedicated to pushing boundaries and crossing lines.
Missing an opportunity to witness their musical battle ensue live will surely be a decision you’ll soon come to regret. With no end in sight, FALL CITY FALL has come to turn the hardcore scene upside down.
