About:

Chaos and Order, two seemingly opposing forces that, when observed closely enough, work together subtly to create art in its most divine form. Enter The Order of Chaos, a highly regarded and well respected heavy metal tour de force from the northern wastelands of Alberta Canada. For the last 10 years, trudging through the snow covered landscape, this band has cut its teeth in the most demanding gigging environment this side of the equator. Now, bringing their unique, fresh and well developed sound to a style of music so saturated with sound-a-likes and copy cats, The Order of Chaos has their sights set across the Atlantic Ocean on the homeland of Heavy Metal… Europe.

With two albums and an EP under their belt, the band is prepared to unleash a torrent of brand new material that will redefine genres and carve a path no heavy metal band has even attempted to produce. Meet Amanda Kiernan, a hurricane of live intensity and energy unmatched by her peers. From soaring melodic choruses to gritty, in your face thrash she doesn’t let up for a moment. Her unique take on metal vocals and prowess as a hybrid singer has affirmed her place in metal history. Backed by the duelling guitar virtuosity of John Simon Fallon and John Saturley, and the brick wall rhythm section of Duncan Hickerty and Tim Prevost, this band is something that must truly be seen to be believed, (just ask anyone who has attended their shows).

In September of 2012, after signing with Red Lion Music, The Order of Chaos made their first appearance overseas, stunning fans at the Turock Open Air Festival and in clubs across central Europe. Then again, just seven months later they returned with Vicious Rumors supporting them on their Electric Punishment Tour, gaining many new fans and quickly securing a solid reputation as a phenomenal live act to behold.

With the future looking bright, the determination to succeed, and the creative talent to put forth a fresh sound for heavy metal lovers everywhere, The Order of Chaos is primed for an assault on stages, record stores and headbangers everywhere.

Shared stage w/:

Godsmack, Vicious Rumors, Rage, Helstar, Ensiferum, Sonata Arctica, A Perfect Circle, 3 Inches of Blood, Paul Di’Anno, Iron Saviour, Circle II Circle, Ripper Owens

“I recommend this record for all the fans of the old school heavy/speed/thrash metal fans, and even the speed/black metal fans will enjoy the energy of the vocals in this record. Every single solo and every insane scream in this record are worthy listening, so if you wish to relive the old school heavy metal energy into the building, then blow the speakers with this CD and keep the old school spirit alive!” http://www.jorzine.com

“the unbeatable combination of old school metal, coupled with thrash influences and Amanda’s dominating presence create an interesting piece of work with great variety that would excite and interest listeners that don’t pay attention to labels.” Rock Pages, Greece

“Their first album “The Order Of Chaos” was released in 2009 and was much respected in Canada. With “Burn These Dreams” there is a disc which offers an exciting, well-crafted mix of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. While still committed to the metal, but virtuosic and more varied.” – Stormbringer Austria

“This cd is like heroin, you get the hit of Burn These Dreams and you will not be able to stop listening to it. 2012 has really produced some fucking amazing music and this cd almost heads the class, what a killer cd. This is very cool.” JamesD, wickedchannel.com

Canadian Grindcore Masters FUCK THE FACTS Unleash New Track ‘Solitude’ From Upcoming Album ‘Desire Will Rot’ Due Out August 25th

Legendary Canadian grindcore outfit FUCK THE FACTS are returning to pummel your ear drums with the French track and first single ‘Solitude’ from their upcoming album ‘Desire Will Rot’ set to be unleashed on August 25th via their indie label Noise Salvation.

‘Solitude’ is now streaming via their bandcamp here and available for immediate download with digital album pre-order for only $4 here.

‘Desire Will Rot’ was recorded and mixed by FTF guitarist Topon Das at his Apartment 2 recording studio in Ottawa, ON and is the band’s first full length since 2011’s ‘Die Miserable’ and follows the band’s recent split EP with Fistfuck along with 2014’s ‘Abandoned’ and 2013’s ‘Amer’ EPs.

As previously commented by guitarist Topon Das:

“Even though we’ve been consistently releasing new music over the past few years, we haven’t put out a full-length album since 2011’s Die Miserable. I love the EPs that we’ve released since then, but this album is long overdue and was initially intended to come out much earlier.

Our 2013 EP Amer is actually the B-sides of Desire Will Rot, and the original plan was for them to be released together (like we did with Die Miserable and the Misery EP). Over the past 12 months we’ve only played a handful of shows, and this has finally allowed us the time to not only complete this new album, but also our Abandoned EP that came out in October last year, and the split with Fistfuck, which has just been released.

Obviously some similarities to the Amer EP are to be expected on this new record, but I think Desire Will Rot is also very similar to our 2008 album Disgorge Mexico in sound and feel. For me, Disgorge Mexico is the album that really defined what I wanted to do with Fuck The Facts, so to finally have a record that I feel has matched that, is something I’m very excited about.”

‘Desire Will Rot’ is available for pre-order on 12” vinyl, CD, Cassette and Digital Download at http://www.fuckthefacts.com.

Track Listing: Fuck The Facts – Desire Will Rot
1. Everywhere Yet Nowhere (2:58)
2. Shadows Collide (2:49)
3. The Path of Most Resistance (1:34)
4. La Mort I (1:36)

About:

Started as a recording project in the late 90’s, it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic that produced a slew of underground releases drove Fuck The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena. Since then, the Ottawa-based unit has barely stopped for a breath of reconsideration, associating themselves with some of the biggest labels in underground extreme music, as well as continuing a steady output of DIY releases. Having toured hundreds of thousands of kilometers throughout North America and Europe, guitarist/founder Topon Das, vocalist Mel Mongeon, drummer Mathieu Vilandré, bassist/vocalist Marc Bourgon, and guitarist Johnny Ibay have performed at some of the biggest festivals and sweated it out in some of the smallest basements. From 2006-2011 Fuck The Facts released three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records.  Upon the completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows Fuck The Facts efforts as an entity continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper understanding of what significance their art holds to them. As one of the longest running and most recognizable names in Canadian Grindcore, FUCK THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grindcore” with no end in sight.

“Amazingly, Pyramids On Mars is the brainchild of just one man, a certain Kevin Estrella, who handles all instruments and drum programming. He truly is a virtuoso, however, unlike most virtuosos, he can write songs and play with feeling. His peers are the likes of Joe Satriani, Stevie Vai, Ritchie Blackmoor, Jimmy Page, and Randy Rhodes. Note that I said peers; he stands well on his own feet…I truly hope as many people hear this extraordinary album as possible—it truly is brilliant and deserves the widest possible audience.” – Hellbound

“PYRAMIDS ON MARS is the brainchild of Kevin Estrella. I immediately forgot this was a one-man project as soon as I started listening to new album Echo Cosmic…has a sound all its own. Derived of many styles, but still very unique…PYRAMIDS ON MARS, and Kevin Estrella have enough different sounds and feels to keep this entirely instrumental album interesting till the end…impressively so” – Amps And Green Screens

“If you’re a fan of talented and virtuous guitarists, it’s worth following this man. I recommend it!” – Metal Temple

“‘Echo Cosmic’ is a great trip through the immense and ever-expanding universe of guitar music.” – Merchants of Air

“Echo Cosmic is an engaging and interesting listen, which curates through the conceptive mind of Kevin Estrella.” – Kingston Music Reviews

“With the new release “Echo Cosmic” coming out on September 8th, 2015 they continue to blow minds and bend genre. The last I can explain by using two completely different bands in one sentence. This band accelerates from Iron maiden to Meshuggah in about 2 seconds….Overall this record is mind bending and goes beyond what is being made nowadays. Pyramids on Mars blows borders of metal and rock away and leaves you with a satisfied feeling.” Rating 9/10. – Dutch Metal Maniac

#5 – Top 30 albums: Aug 17 – Aug 23, 2015 – CKCU 89.1 FM (Ottawa)

“Echo Cosmic has so much going for it it’s hard to know where to start. It’s 10 tracks & a 55 minute journey into Estrellas mind, & what a mind it is. There’s so much going on I’m amazed he hasn’t imploded….Kevin Estrella demonstrates that not only is he a very accomplished guitar virtuoso BUT he’s genuinely multi talented playing all the instruments himself on this record.” – All About The Rock

“If anything, it is taking the road less travelled – in this case, guitar-driven, instrumental music- that helps Pyramids on Mars stand out from the plethora of other groups vying for a piece of the prog rock pie.”   –  Canadian Musician Magazine

“Kevin Estrella, much like Vai, much like Satriani, can make his guitar truly communicate and display emotion. There’s a real passion that Kevin plays with that only comes along every so often…a real magic.  There could be a complete saturation with this type of instrumentally-driven music one day. I have the feeling that even IF this was to happen, Pyramids on Mars would STILL stand out miles from the rest.”  – Sleeping Bag Studios

“The music scene is very saturated with artists and bands pretty much doing the same thing (stylistically speaking).  With the current popularity of instrumental guitarists like Joe Satriani, there is a good possibility of instrumental rock coming back.  Pyramids on Mars have a niche market with very little competition that they can control the market share in that music genre.” Coalition Entertainment Management  Jesse Mitchell |Coalition Music

“And with influences like Metallica (probably post-black album), Jimi Hendrix, and Joe Satriani it is clear that Pyramids on Mars knows the kind of music they love, how to create their own version, and make us listeners enjoy it as much as they do.”  Metal Addicts

“The guitarist member is impressively high-quality.  His constant and non-stop lead work is where he shines.  Smooth, melodic, adapt and soaring lead after lead on song after song speaks of good soloing.  Kevin Estrella is in the same ballpark as David Gilmour.”  – Metallian

“Pyramids on Mars is a musical journey. Dizzying guitar work swiftly flying between genres and showing skill that few acts are capable of achieving in the country right now.”  Two Way Monologues

Pyramids on Mars High Res Promo

Inspired the by the studies of UFOs, aliens and the artifacts of in our solar system plus being witness to UFO activity (full details below), PYRAMIDS ON MARS is an embodiment of spacey music that brings both worlds together as both a musical concept, and message to the world of the alien presence. Formed in 2011, PYRAMIDS ON MARS is the solo creation of guitarist Kevin Estrella who offers an aural palette of intense, emotional, 3-dimensional, heavy and melodic progressive rock/ metal that includes a range of influences such as Baroque classical guitar, classical composers J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi along with today’s guitar virtuosos Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani.

Estrella’s latest effort under the PYRAMIDS ON MARS name is ‘Echo Cosmic’ set for release on September 8, 2015 to follow 2013’s full length self-titled debut

“I honestly think “Echo Cosmic” will do for this decade what Joe Satrani’s ‘Surfing With The Alien’ did for instrumental rock back in the ’80’s.  It captures the same passion, energy, and melodic hooks, yet it has an updated sound.  Heavier than Satriani though.  He is influenced mostly by the blues.  I am influenced by metal and classical music. I have always focused on melody.  Same with composers like J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi.  The masters of melody.  They are pretty much all I listen to.  So what I am doing on stage today, was the norm 300 years ago. ” comments Estrella.

Featuring ten tracks of emotionally high energy music that mostly came to life in Estrella’s dreams over the last two years, the album as whole pays homage to some of Estrella’s biggest influences while still staying true to himself and his own creations.

“On Echo Cosmic, I wanted to put more emphasis on the rhythm guitars, bass and drums.  The keyboards are still there, but they play more second fiddle sort of speaking.  Some songs are stripped right down to just bass, drums and lead guitar. I wanted this album it to be more in your face with less clutter.” says Estrella.  “The writing on this album is also inspired by the bands I love the most.  I love so many bands and love so many styles.  So, I tend to write in whatever style I want to. There are so many other band styles I want to explore.  I am probably one of the most unique bands out there that I have no one particular ‘sound’.  But all the songs have a common thread/element that identifies them as being Pyramids On Mars.  I think I have an advantage others do not have, because I can transform like a chameleon.” says Estrella.

Track by Track Breakdown of Echo Cosmic explained by PYRAMIDS ON MARS’ Kevin Estrella:
“To summarize, the overall story line of ‘Echo Cosmic’ is about mankind’s history of broadcasting radio and tv signals for over 100 years from earth to space.  Theoretically, some of these signals should be picked up by alien civilizations.  We are announcing our existence through this cosmic echo we are sending out.  We may be an insignificant species in a vast universe, but we are leaving a footprint that has infinite infuence.” comments Estrella.
1. Dream Division:  The whole introduction I heard in a dream.  Started off simply with guitar, but got more interesting when the bass and drums join in and are all doing something different from each other.  But it all worked.  Almost like division. Thus the name.
2.Battle for Rome:  Influenced by the X-Box One game trailer Ryse Son of Rome.  Watch the trailer, and you can imagine this song playing in it.

3. Death Valley Driver:  The main rhythm guitar and drums were bedtracks for this song.  Reminded me of driving fast on a desert road.

4. Tribute:  I was experimenting with some ’80’s guitar tone presets.  Improvising, I played the main rhythm part.  It sounded like something Randy Rhoads would play.  Decided to write a song dedicated to him.

5. Heaven’s Gate:  Influenced by a band who has a a dead guy with leather skin for a mascot.

6. Sailing the Ocean’s of Neptune:  Heard the main riff in my head for weeks.  Finally wrote the song.  Had a real Hendrix feel to it, with a large Extreme influence.

7. Spectre of Orion:  A song originally written in a band I used to be in called Omega Factor which consisted of just me and a drummer

8. Order of the Freemasons:  Song written back in 2011.  A very dark song about a dark subject.  It is more a work of art rather than being a radio friendly song.  A song I am very proud of.

9. Occam’s Razor:  A fast, thrash metal song with sharp, jagged teeth.  You will hear  at least three metal band influences in this one!

10. Echo Cosmic:  The flagship of the CD.  A song that creates a feeling of loneliness and isolation.  That which we are in this vast universe.
Kevin Estrella UFO experience:
The facts are as follows:
– August 21, 2014 @ 10:30pm, a 2 dimensional disc approx. 40 ft in diameter, surrounded in orange/red plasma appears over the City of Hamilton. He immediately files a full report with MUFON. (full report here)- 2015 Kevin Estrella attends the Alien Cosmic Exhibition (ACE) in Brantford, Ontario. He meets with MUFON investigator Stu Bundy who took his report. They are very excited to see him. They are doing a presentation at ACE that includes his sighting. They deem it to be AUTHENTIC.- What is drawing attention, is from official UFO database reports, there is no record of any UFO sighting in the city of Hamilton the night of August 21, 2014.HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO WITNESSED IT.- He personally meets with world respected Ufologist, Grant Cameron to discuss the matter. He says this phenomenon is not uncommon; where one person is witness to a sighting and others around do not see it. He went on to explain how the same thing happened to John Lennon, in New York City.- Grant has done extensive research into the subject of the UFO/alien phenomenon and its particular interest with musicians. Many musicians have come forward and have had personal alien/UFO encounters, and are getting musical ideas through downloads. Estrella discussed with Grant how he too, gets songs from dreams and nearly all his music seems to come from channeling into an energy source from elsewhere. The alien rock stories Grant talks about in his presentation sounds much like Estrella’s own personal experiences. That is what drew him to attend ACE in the first place.- Grant is under the notion that the fact that no-one else saw it, this UFO sighting was meant for Estrella to see.- Estrella is lead to believe the UFO/Musician connection Grant speaks of, He is a part of this group.
