Montreal, QC – March 14, 2019

Finland’s Fantasy Metal EVERFROST Posts Making of Video For Upcoming Album “Winterider”

Signs To Rockshots Records For Release Summer 2019

Since the release of debut album ‘Blue Eyed Emotion’, Finland’s EVERFROST have been active on the stage and in the studio bringing listeners the follow-up EP ‘Appetite For Candlelight’, single ‘Cold Night Remedy’ and live DVD ‘A Cold Night Out’. The band is now aiming to raise the bar from what an album experience is traditionally expected to be, with their second full length ‘Winterider‘ to be released via Rockshots Records this coming Summer 2019!

The album will feature 10 songs of EVERFROST‘s winter spiced melodic metal elevated to the extreme this time around! The track listing will include the band’s first ballad, their fastest song to date and the first EVERFROST epic, clocking in at over 10 minutes.

The album will be a unique undertaking for a metal/rock band, as it will be the combination of a fully coherent manga comic and a conceptual album. The story will feature characters from their debut album ‘Blue Eyed Emotion’, and will take them on a desperate journey to survive a never-ending winter! This type of album has never been attempted before, and the band is pulling out all the stops to provide you with a truly unique experience in the world of comics and music!

Keyboardist Benji Connelly began the demo-process for ‘Winterider’ in the summer of 2017 following the single release ‘Cold Night Remedy’, which will also appear on the album. By March 2018, most of the songs and story manuscript had been finished, as was mentioned in an interview with Musicalypse after their taped show at The Circus, Helsinki. As of September, EVERFROST has hit the studio and will be documenting the entire ‘making of’ process for ‘Winterider’, beginning with promo photoshoots lead by Tuonela Magazine’s Laureline Tilkin.

Bio:

EVERFROST is a Finnish symphonic power metal band known for incorporating Japanese anime and manga influences into their visuals and storytelling with a winter flavor.

The band features vocalist Mikael Salo, guitarist Markus Laito, drummer Joonas Salminen, bassist Allan C Hasanen and keyboardist Benjamin Connelly. The music includes generous use of catchy melodies and heavy riffs, plenty of guitar and keyboard solos, a large instrumental variety from orchestral to electronic and energetic drumming. The vocals consist of operatic and power metal-inspired male vocals, occasionally including female vocals and harsh vocals as a contrast. The band’s lyrical themes deal with escapism, death/loss and fantasy.

“If No Clean Singing had a “house band” I am fairly certain Majestic Downfall would be it (or at least a finalist)” – No Clean Singing

“The sound of these Mexicans improved in industrial proportions and this innovative and varied approach to their music, presents the extreme and melancholic detail that Doom/Death Metal left forgot long ago.” – breathlesssleep.com

“…When Dead” will be marked as a milestone in MAJESTIC DOWNFALL’s career and the band’s next works will be measured from here. I can easily see this album making it into hundreds of end of the year lists for 2015. Listen and buy “…When Dead” – Voices From The Darkside

“Majestic Downfall are the clear-cut finest death/doom band in Mexico.” – Dead Rhetoric

“Waters Of Fate is without doubt a Majestic Downfall album. You can still hear the influences of bands such as Katatonia. But the band composes their songs in a way where they do not forget where they are coming form but still find new angles. Add the great mix/master by Tore Stjerna (Necromorbus Studio) and you know they created a mighty album.”  – Lords of Metal

REGAL TIP

Majestic Downfall started as a one-man doom journey in August of 2006. The idea was to recapture the feeling of the 90s European death/doom metal scene, while mixing it with some more modern metal overtones. In 2007, MAjestic Downfall pressed its first demo titled – “The First Abyss Demo 2007” which was later released in a split with Italian black/doom metal band Ansia.

On April 6th, 2009, Majestic Downfall released its debut full-length album, “Temple of Guilt”. This time the music contained a darker edge full of sorrow and new influences from bands like Shining and Forgotten Tomb. 2011 saw the release of “The Blood Dance” album which contained 7 sorrowful passages with an even darker edge than Temple of Guilt. The “Three” album was released in 2013 and this time the sound contained even more experimentation in the music but without staying too far away from the band’s musical roots. 2015 sees the release of “…When Dead”, an album that is not only the bands most diverse output incorporating lots of influences outside doom metal, but one that also and for the first time has an important backing label.

In 2018, “Waters of Fate”, was released in 3 different continents by 3 different labels. It is mixed and mastered by Tore Stjerna (Watain, Portrait, Mayhem) at Necromorbus Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and definitely more and more opportunities in all areas coming along the way for the band.

Power metallers Helion Prime have just released a guitar playthrough video of “The Human Condition” off “Terror Of The Cybernetic Space Monster”, which was released in 2018 via AFM Records. Jason Ashcraft and Chad Anderson show off their writing and playing prowess in this video for one of their personal favorite tracks:

“We are excited to release our first guitar playthrough. This video was a lot of fun to make and we promise Jason is having a good time despite looking bored at times. The Human Condition is one of our personal favorite tracks off the new album and was actually the first song we finished 100% for the album. It’s packed with a lot of killer riffs and just right for a playthrough video.”

“Terror Of The Cybernetic Space Monster” is Helion Prime’s second album and revolves around sci-fi themes with sweeping solos and powerful vocals. The album was also mixed and mastered at LSD studio by Lasse Lammert (known for his work with bands like Alestorm and Gloryhammer). The American band is sure to impress fans of Unleash the Archers, Iron Maiden and Helloween.

The video is available exclusively through GearGods.net at the following link: http://geargods.net/premiere/helion-prime-human-condition-playthrough/

Bio:

Helion Prime was born from the mind of Jason Ashcraft, who approached vocalist Heather Michele (appears only on the first album) and asked if she would be interested in doing a project with him. The two had been longtime friends, and at the time intended to do nothing more than release a few songs together for fun, as both had musical commitments elsewhere. Soon, however, the two realized they had something good and quickly decided to put out a full album. That album would become the now “Self Titled” release. The two first released the album independently and quickly re-released it through Divebomb records. The band quickly gained the attention of the German label AFM Records who approached them to ink a deal.

Shortly before being approached by AFM Records, Heather Michele left the band in order to focus on her commitments to her other band. So the band found themselves in a bind, being offered a record deal but having no singer. Thankfully, AFM Records believed in them enough to sign them regardless. The band released a single “Remnants of Stars” and did a short DIY tour they called “Saibot’s Rampage Tour” with short term singer Kayla Dixon.

In 2017 the band held open auditions for a new singer – enter Sozos Michael. Many fans were thrown off by the band’s choice bringing on a male vocalist for the up until now female fronted group. At the end of the day, it’s really about who’s right for the part and there is no doubt Sozos can deliver what Helion Prime needs. Now, with the band feeling refreshed, and once again having a strong line up they quickly got to work with their sophomore effort set to be released via AFM Records.

The band is excited about the future and is already brainstorming the creative process for the third follow up. There is no slowing down for Helion Prime!

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 13, 2019

For fans of Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Buckethead, Tony MacAlpine

Out Now! Guitarist Frankie C. (Vesperia) Unleashes His Shredding Debut EP “Cellular Damascus”

Frankie Caracci, known for his guitar work in Canadian symphonic death metal band Vesperia, has been simmering a side project entitled “Cellular Damascus” and is now ready to give listeners around the world a taste of what he’s been doing on March 13, 2019.

“Cellular Damascus” is an instrumental solo project that came to light after Caracci’s win on season one of “Shredders of Metal” presented by Banger TV. Technical, groovy and energetic, “Cellular Damascus” lets the listener focus on the guitar work that he takes great pride in orchestrating.

“I want fans to have fun listening to it. I wanted to create interesting melodic phrases but still have heavy riffs to headband along with, shred hard but not lose sight of the music and try to have a clear mix where things aren’t overly processed but all instruments/parts are still clear and audible.”

Working consciously on each track, the scene for the album is a suspenseful set with “So It Begins” and concludes majestically with “Fall Of The Hammer”. All four tracks on this debut flow together and show off excellent musicianship. Excited to be focusing on more solo work in the future, Caracci has confirmed another release in the future.

“Cellular Damascus” is now out as of March 13, 2019, and available for stream and download on Bandcamp, Spotify, Youtube, iTunes.

Track Listing:
1. So It Begins (1:06)
2. Fall Of The Hammer (2:55)
3. Cellular Damascus (3:14)
4. Life By Fire (3:19)
EP Length: 10:36

Influenced but guitar mavericks such as Jeff Loomis, Joe Satriani, Jason Becker, and Michael Romeo and genres such as modern and classic heavy metal thrash, prog and death metal there is an assortment of features in each track that keep the listener on their toes and attentive to the music.

I find it very difficult to locate a counterpart for RED CAIN, as they have clearly created their own sound in the genre. Bio:

EXTREMA’s original line-up was established between 1985 and 1986 in Milan, Italy. In a very short time, the band led by guitars player Tommy Massara achieved a huge success. Tommy is the only remaining member of the original line-up, and over the years he also played the role of artistic and executive producer.

Hundreds of concerts made the band more and more close-knit and open towards a constant growth path, capable from the beginning of welcoming influences external to heavy metal, a consistent choice within an evolutionary framework which saw EXTREMA start from the rebellious attitude of MOTÖRHEAD to later incorporate the style of Californian thrash metal, a scene with which the band shared the utmost care for the technical side of music and a devastating presence on stage.

The band’s reputation as musicians and performers kept growing in a perpetual live context, with extensive tours and the participation to prestigious festivals with the likes of METALLICA, SLAYER, MOTÖRHEAD, and KORN, a.o.

Extraneous from the beginning to political and ideological implications of any kind, EXTREMA’s lyrics have always strived to alternate challenging and contemporary themes with lighter subjects, true to rock’n’roll form.

In May 2017 the band welcomed the new frontman Tiziano Spigno. Thanks to his entry, EXTREMA can finally release all the creativity repressed in recent years: a violent, direct and engaging approach which is – at the same time – also varied, courageous and experimental, resulting in the new album “Headbanging Forever”.

EXTREMA is:
Tiziano “Titian” Spigno – Vocals
Tommy Massara – Guitars
Gabri Giovanna – Bass
Francesco “Frullo” Larosa – Drums
