American traditional heavy metal act Rivetskull has a new video for their single “Narcissus” in support of their debut album “Trail of Souls” recently released on February 7, 2020.

Rivetskull brings a comforting familiarity reminiscent of 70’s-80’s metal/hard rock albeit with a modern twist. On “Trail of Souls” there are a few longer “epic” songs, and some shorter almost punk heavy pop songs, if you will. Something for everyone for various moods. The band expands their view of the album:

“We’d like to think we did a good job of delivering something that is familiar, yet fresh. Our musical tastes are all over the board and I think that comes across without being too manic and all over the place hopefully! Though it’s not a concept album or anything, there is a common theme that carries throughout the album and ties it all together.”

Stoked to get their music out to fans, Rivetskull acknowledges the growing demand for “NWOTHM” New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal and are excited about the response they’ve gotten in such a short time. The single “Narcissus” explores humanity dealing with narcissists from neighbors and friends to world leaders with a captivating visual story.

For fans of Dio, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Rainbow, the video can be watched via its premiere on Metal-Rules.com HERE.

“Trail of Souls”  is available for stream and download on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 10, 2018

For fans of DIO, Rainbow , Symphony X, Kamelot

Out Now! Japan’s SABER TIGER New Album “Obscure Diversity” via Sliptrick Records

New Video “Permanent Rage”

Japanese progressive power metal group Saber Tiger‘s new album “Obscure Diversity” is now out as of October 10th, 2018 via Sliptrick Records.  The album demonstrates a band that has no intention of slowing down more than three and a half decades after their formation. If anything, their trademark blend of classy melodicism and fierce intensity is in better balance than ever. Tracks like speed monsters “The Crowbar Case” and “Permanent Rage” feature every aspect that fans have come to expect from Saber Tiger; from the whirlwind guitar work of Akihito Kinoshita and Yasuharu Tanaka to Takenori Shimoyama’s passionate vocals and the intricate rhythms of drummer Yasuhiro Mizuno and bassist hibiki. “Beat Of The War Drums” is heavy and modern, while more atmospheric tracks like “The Shade Of Holy Light” and “The Forever Throne” show a surprisingly introspective side of the band without sacrificing any of the band’s renowned heaviness. “Distant Signals”, hibiki’s first songwriting contribution to Saber Tiger’s body of work, even manages to take the band to surprisingly progressive territories. Saber Tiger pulls all of these musical directions off with equal class and conviction, truly accounting for the diversity that they have promised in the album’s title.

Unlike their previous release “Bystander Effect”, which was mixed and mastered by founder Kinoshita himself, Saber Tiger sought international assistance for the sonic representation of “Obscure Diversity”. The band was looking for a certain degree of clarity and power and found exactly that when they enlisted the help of Simone Mularoni, guitarist of Italian progressive power metal band DGM and owner of the Domination Studio in San Marino.

“Obscure Diversity” is now available on Sliptrick Records here, iTunes, Spotify and on all other major music platforms.

In additional news, the humorcore masters will be raging across the US for their ‘The ‘Merica F*ck Yeah Tour’ kicking off in Amityville, NY on May 29th and wrapping up in St. Louis, MO on June 27th. The band will be joined by Dog Fashion Disco and The Bunny The Bear.

Psychostick guitarist Josh “The J” Key comments:

“It’s an honor to be touring with the legendary Dog Fashion Disco. Add The Bunny The Bear to the mix, and it’s going to be a ridiculously fun show, you won’t want to miss this unless your legs have been chopped off. No, I take that back: legs chopped is no excuse… be there! As for me personally, it’s also been a while since we played the West coast… it’s about time we get back to somewhere that knows how to make a decent chimichanga!”

Psychostick is currently working tireless days and nights to complete their follow up release to 2011’s ‘Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D’ after reaching their crowd funding goal of 30,000 to record their forthcoming album and build a new recording studio based in Chicago, IL.

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist  Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music that Chimaira, Machine Head, and Hatebreed would be proud of, and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.

With three full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title,” “Sandwich,” and their holiday album, “The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride” – the band released their latest record, “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D,” in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.

After a successful 2013 that saw these touring ninja warriors hit the road for multiple shows on the ‘Our Tour Can Beat Up Your Tour’, ‘Blow Your Fingers Off’ summer tour, their late summer dates with American Head Charge plus appearances at summer fests that included Rockapalooza, A2 Fest, Breast Fest Biker Bash, and Dirtfest.  The band finally took a break in last months of the year and held a successful crowd funding campaign (thank you video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSeQHqMCfJI), where they are now currently in studio recording their follow up to 2011’s ‘Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D’.
