Black Doom ÉOHUM Post Teaser Video For Debut Album ‘Revelations, Aurora of An Epoch’ Due Out April 7

Éohum : Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch (Album Release Teaser) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joHCSl9BAC8
Éohum : revelations, aurora of an epoch (album release teaser)
Song Stream – https://eohum.bandcamp.com/track/revelations-aurora-of-an-epoch

Formed in 2010 from the mind of guitarist / writer Jeremy Perkins, Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) brings together some of the most dark and groove oriented metals of heavy low end doom riffs to meet black metal atmospheres.  With shredding guitar tones uplifted by the French horns plus a touch of clean breaks with beautiful lyrics and vocals, Éohum expand their style within the relentless drive that surround a new air, a new sound, an attempt to join forces with eco-awareness and spirit for their upcoming debut album, ‘Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch’, which will be made available as a pay what you want release via Perkins’ indie label Mycelium Networks.

“April 7th we unleash our first beast, ‘Revelations Aurora Of An Epoch’ and it will give everyone a good idea of what Éohum has to offer. A storm of relentless black, doom and death metal embark together on a ship of progressive madness. With guests like Matt McGachy on this album, one can enjoy a multitude of arrangements with its original sound, which we are so proud to share with the world, but this is just the beginning!” comments Perkins.

The release features a collective of musicians that includes guest vocals from Matt McGachy (Cryptopsy) (Tracks 3-4-5-7), Lana Edwards (Intro & Outro), Phillippe Rieder (Track 6),Nick Wybo (ex-Vinyl Hero) on drums, Annie Perreault on French horn/trumpet, Sylvain Dumont on guitar, James Heymans on bass and Perkins himself on guitar plus a live line up that includes drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist) and vocalist Barrie Butler (ex : Tard).

“I like to have guests and friends from the scene on the album it gives a great touch and makes our stuff evolve and progress tremendously. The album should be received as fresh meat on the slab, especially with a French horn with groove doom low ends that makes the Éohum sound stand out.” says Perkins.

With so much talent from various backgrounds, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with seducing horns ready to be injected into the veins of metal fans.

“Musically ‘Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch’ gives a great opportunity to taste a different aspect where you can chill out to a doom song and get up and swing your 4 foot long hair to our blackest riffs a second later in this relentless progression. Expect a groove and good sounding black metal without the new age tech-metal touches, we stick to the root, but with a better sound than black metal is usually attributed too and some doom to make your day.” Perkins adds.

Éohum is recommended for fans of Emperor, Immortal, Therion, Dimmu Borgir, Deicide, Neurosis, Behemoth.

Fun Fact About Band Name: Éohum means many Yew trees in old English, Yew tree is the Tree of Life for the English tribes of our past pre dating most of the Celt languages, which blended Latin to their own afterward.

The E without the accent would mean many war horses, so that’s why there is an accent, not because it’s a French word.

“their sound has a mildly addictive streak to it.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“Wikipedia in all of its might defines the French Horn as, “a brass instrument made of tubing more than 20 feet (6.1 m) long, wrapped into a coil with a flared bell.” I got the pleasure of marking something rather interesting off of my list of shit I’ve seen: a french horn in a Black Metal band. Thank you Eohum! (I think.)  If you’re on the hunt for something that will make you go a wee bit cross-eyed, look no further than Eohum.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

” Sheer talent is evident in this progressive blackened doom band. When they start playing a riff where they just click, it’s impressive, even uplifting. It’s no easy task to do that with the components of the bands: a blast beating drummer, tons of speedy, grim guitars, a thunderous vocalist who both screams and sings, samples, and…a fucking horn section? The…fuck…?…I have a feeling, though, that Éohum are onto something. Especially with their album art, which is the coolest I’ve seen in a long time.” – Gun Shy Assassin

About: The Body Politic’s EP ‘Egressor’ was released September 16th to follow up their 2011 debut album ‘All Too Human’.  Taking their name from a Clive Barker short story and shifting gears from jazz (which most of the members studied at Vancouver Island University) to progressive metal, the band combine poly-metric grooves, aggressive screams and soaring vocal melodies to push the boundaries of modern metal music with technically impressive musicianship. Their emotionally charged songs incorporate an element of playfulness that has lead THE BODY POLITIC to stand out in a vast metal crowd and to perform opening slots for Tesseract, Protest The Hero and Scale The Summit plus multiple Western Canadian tours with their evolution.

“The Body Politic share a similar desire to take their art in new directions. Opening track “Vitam Agere” is the perfect intro to the EP, short ,modern and original, and something that would work well in film soundtrack. Second track “Armature” shows the band to be technically adroit but not at the expense of song-writing. “All Hands” mixes precision with power, while “Swing For The Fences” shows The Body Politic are very much making music for the 21st century. “Colqhoun” has a raw power to match its melodies. Finishing with the fine “Irradiate,” it’s clear that The Body Politic are a band with the potential to cross over to a wide audience indeed.” – Hellbound

“Watch these prog-metal masters as they rip through “Armature,” a song off of the band’s forthcoming self-released EP, Egressor… If you’re into the likes of Periphery and Protest The Hero, this song will most certainly get your blood flowing. And in all the right directions, you dig?” – Gunshy Assassin

“As sonically savage as it is melodically radiant, Egressor provides one sizeable tempest of aggression, passion, and technical invention which thrusts Canadian progressive metallers The Body Politic into a whole new spotlight. The EP is a furious yet seductive storm which is as accomplished and gripping in its senses ravaging enterprise as it is in its rich croon of melodic and harmonic endeavour. The six track encounter provides a blistering fascination and unpredictable adventure which took a short while to reveal all its glories but emerged as another of the rigorously compelling events of the year….The release impresses in many aspects, the technical craft, explosive adventure to the songwriting, and the striking vocals of Sam Britton the most striking of these.” – Ring Master Review

“This collection of songs is well produced; the clarity and power exuding through the headphones is amazing given that this group are yet to be signed to a major label. A doff of the cap must be made to those who financed and produced this EP. It delivers the intricate collective guitar work expertly with the vocals front and centre. Vocal duties are split with Sam Britton offering the melodic and thoughtful response to the hoarse rasping of Jesse Janzen who also plays bass. Special effects and background sounds come through clearly adding atmosphere and tension where needed…The album provides nourishment for those fans who like to dissect a song’s technical elements as well as fans that enjoy the overall presentation. This is an expertly put together snapshot of the group’s capabilities and this reviewer certainly hopes that it will result in a bit of major label attention and well deserved support… I would be delighted to see this band deliver their brand of honest, raw and technically fantastic music live and think that audiences over here would be very open to their brand of passionate yet technically brilliant music.” – RocknReel Reviews

“The Body Politic combines staccato rhythms with catchy vocal melodies and blends them in a killer progressive metal package. “Egressor” their new six song EP is a short but extensive slice of modern metal…The production on “Egressor” is top notch and the musicianship…there is no denying that “Egressor” is a great album…Go get your grubby little hands on The Body Politic’s Egressor” – Extreme Metal Television

“Lively yet brutally honest, their music hooks you in an intense whirl of emotions. Do yourself a big favor, listen to their song “Armature”- it is positively one of the best song of the year, bar none.” – PhilRadioCast

“The feverish energy and charisma that floats through your speakers while you listen to Egressor will leave you enlightened with a sense of purpose and motivation.”- Damnation Mag

“Wow! Yes, this is what I said, when I started listening to The Body Politic, as their latest ep “Egressor” comes at you like a locomotive engine, yet puts you at ease with their melodic vocals and melodic guitars.” – Explicitly Intense

“their newest EP, Egressor, their heaviest effort yet while still keeping the originality and captivating melodies from before…gives a little something to all participating audiences whether it’s heaviness and groove or melodic brilliance. This is one that progressive metalcore fans can’t miss.” – We Love Metal

“technical brilliance. This is an EP of six cuts that slash twenty minutes long that brings together all the ingredients for modern and advanced metal.” – Noizz Webzine

“a terrific EP of six dramatic metal landscapes.” – Metal Nation Radio

“With its six songs, Egressor is organized like a short album rather than a promo EP. It starts with “Vitam Agere”, a keyboard-oriented instrumental intro, then switches gear on “Armature”, where vocals come in. One thing that immediately struck me is how much The Body Politic’s music breathes. It is apparent that the band knows how to gage the keyboard, bringing it in only when it adds something to the whole, while balancing technique with efficiency. The 7-strings attack stands out, as well as the mechanical math-grooves and the metronome-articulated songwriting. With its cold beauty, “All Hands” reminded me of Sybreed, aside from the clean vocals chorus. There are highlights for each instruments on this EP, for example drums have a particularly nice routine on “Swing for the Fences”. While The Body Politic sounds and plays exactly like a metalcore band (think about Bring Me the Horizon or Parkway Drive), there is a clear venture on progressive territories and a mix of influences, including Opeth (“Colquoun”) and Dream Theater (“Irradiate”).” – Metal Made In Canada

Initially never planning to release his music compositions beyond the borders of just song writing, freelance drummer / instructor Sean Lang was urged by his circle of musician friends whom heard his material to take his creativity to the next level.

The outcome is Seven Year Storm, which showcases Lang’s unique sound, music arrangements written entirely by him plus guitarist Dean Lamb (Archspire) whom handles all of the mind-bending guitar leads and solos. Everything comes together into songs that are tight and heavy, melodic and groovy, technical yet memorable.

“I am very pleased to unleash the first installment of my musical vision, entitled Aion I. “Combining atmospheric keyboards and djenty rhythms, and adding a slight touch of jazz rock and loads of melody, this EP should definitely appeal to fans of modern progressive music….the musicianship and songwriting is top notch, and the production is also extremely professional for a self-released EP. The production nicely allows for the sweeping layers of sound to shine through in a balanced and harmonic way. I definitely hope to hear more from Lang in the future. “Aion I” should appeal to fans of Animals As Leaders, Chimp Spanner, and Planet X.” – Metal Music Archives

“…on this five song EP, you have not only some fluid, inventive modern metal but also one with a very strong focus on melody, ambient space, subtle uses of keyboards to add an orchestral touch to the album along with a damn good attempt at an emotional connection to the listener. Which is a very pleasant and welcome surprise when you hear that this is a drummer-led recording….I’m also very glad to see more exciting, very modern instrumental metal that is focused on composition and dynamics rather than super-fast shredding which has been so prevalent over the past few decades.” – Prog Metal Zone

“Aion I is instrumental metal with a rather video-gamey quality to it, in that it’s driven by very enigmatic melodies, and the music thrives on syncopated grooves and polyrhythms, with gorgeous leads and atmosphere.  It’s captivating, the songs are concise, yet have a lot of substance.  Aion I is the band’s first output, an EP, and it’s quite good if you’re into instrumental metal of any sort.” – No Clean Singing

“If you like instrumental rock with elements of metal mixed in, you’ve got it with Aion I. I really love the guitar solos in Nazca Lines, although the album as a whole leans more towards drums, the inspiration of drum instructor Sean Lang. The EP is a quick listen at five songs and it’s worth your time. And check out the video for the song Dyatlov!” – Metalhead Blog

“Fayne have unleashed a maelstrom of a fury in The Queen of Kings EP. Bracingly raw yet just as feverishly sculpted the five track metalcore fuelled encounter reasserts the Montreal quintet as a seriously compelling proposition. It is merciless and ravenous examination of the senses and a perpetual spark for the imagination to feed upon.” – Ring Master Reviews

“The Fayne heavy drum sound is similar to that of Slipknot. The vocal screams are like those of Hatebreed with the more melodic breaks of Redlight King’s vibe. The band is full of nonstop energy. The hooks from Alex and Nick are great to get the pulse going along with Carlo’s relentless percussion assault. Joseph shows his vocal range quite well on this release while Chris plays lights out on the bass tracks. It’s no surprise that they are a favorite of theValhalla Sound Circus after only one year. It’s a hint of great things to come from another good Canadian metal outfit.” – National Rock Review

“The Main Course for the night, Fayne, surely filled Our Hearts and Bellies with core-filled fist burgers and motivated serenading side salads!! Fayne is back and with a Vengeance: that’s for sure! The energy they created on stage powered their amps and reinforced the crowd. Surely Fayne has a message to spread! Thoughtful lyrical content brought us together, uplifting the crowd, spreading the power of oneness, and knocking down the walls of mind blocks that stand before us. And speaking of walls…the dense wall of sound created by the breakdowns surely raised a rumble of raised fists and energetic punters moshing heads.” – Montrealites (Live Review 2014)

“I was just impressed all around with how well these guys go together. Their chemistry on stage, musically, and physically is something I haven’t seen in a while.  Their music collides with an influence of Misery Signals meets Pantera. They are known for blending in sick guitar solos with heavier strums, melancholic/mean vocals and an insane amount of energy. When I mentioned throughout the day to a few friends I was checking these dudes out, I got a lot of “Those guys are awesome!” – clearly a good fan base as well. Congrats guys.” – (Live Review 2013) – Bucket List Music Reviews

“There is no doubt in my mind that Canada’s Fayne is a solid band, musically they’re very tight and heavy enough to make you crowd surf at one of their gigs.” – Explicitly Intense

” FAYNE have expressed all fury with “The Queen Of Kings”, packed into 5 small songs to make this short little EP. With raw flavors exposed in this collection, the quintet has created a monstrous noise…All in all the EP does mark a great return for FAYNE.” Metal Temple

“Fayne is back from their hiatus with a Fury of furious Screams, Hard Hitting skins and Heavy sculpted guitar leads and solos. With a silent but deadly approach Fayne slays into the album with the title track The Queen Of Kings.” – Kingston Music Reviews

“La recette est bien exploitée, tous les éléments du genre sont en place avec des guitares adipeuses qui chuintent lors de certains moments opportuns.” – Voir

About:

Inspired by an anonymous literary quote “Every hour wounds, but the last one kills.”, Every Hour Kills is a power house ensemble featuring ex-Divinity guitarist Sacha Laskow, bassist Brent Stutsky (ex-Breach of Trust, ex-Death Valley Dolls), drummer Rob Shawcross (ex- Out Of Your Mouth,  ex-Autobody, ex-Kobra and The Lotus) along with vocalist Jerrod Maxwell-Lyster (Walk As Chaos, ex-Out of Your Mouth, ex-Autobody, ex-the R.A.C.E.).

EHK’s birth began when drummer Rob Shawcross returned from a stint at the PIT in LA and approached Sacha Laskow after his departure from Nuclear Blast signed Divinity. From there, the duo worked together and recruited the best musicians they knew bassist Brent Stutsky) and vocalist Jerrod Maxwell-Lyster to the line up.

Progressing as a unit of epic, modern, melodic groove with a twist of djent, Every Hour Kills has pushed forward in studio over the years with Sacha Laskow leading the pack’s song writing to collaborate and create an extreme sound for new fans that ranges from those familiar with heavy weights such as Soilwork, Sevendust, Meshuggah to electronic music and even rock radio friendly tunes.

“The key is blending all those genres and influences into a cohesive style.” comments Laskow. “All the tracks we have completed at this time, are not written to ‘throwaway’ or do as filler tracks, every song has to have a ‘single’ quality for us to work on it and add it to our set.”

With their debut self-titled EP due for release in summer 2015, EHK is excited to set their metal scene on fire performing shows in their home base of Calgary, AB and beyond.

“It’s like a lightweight Havok or Evile” – Terrorizer Magazine

“On their debut full-length ‘Something Fierce’, Sanktuary deliver a furious half hour of exceptionally retro-infused metal. Although inspired by NWOBHM in much of its tonality, there’s a good dose of vintage speed metal injected in to the band’s ferocious delivery, with the result being something rather thrashy indeed. ‘Thrill Of The Kill’ is a great example of this, the band channelling an early Bay Area feel through both the unrelenting riffs and spit-drenched bite of the lyrics….when Sanktuary get it right, such as on the brilliantly eviler-than-thou heavy metal anthem ‘Midnite Mass’, they sound as suitably fierce as their album title implies.” – Powerplay Mag UK
“Canadians Sanktuary may have a dodgy moniker and album artwork featuring a clumsily-drawn skeletal beast-warrior, but once you get past that, there’s a lot to enjoy. Their sound is equal parts traditional metal and machine-gun thrash, all topped off with some high-flying, melodic vocals and peppered with spiralling solos. Take some early Testament, shades of Annihilator, throw in some classic Vicious Rumors, and a pinch of Lååz Rockit, give the resulting mixture a raw, electric production, and inject it with youthful energy and a certain naive charm…it is great fun and passes in a flash, leaving you ready for more.” – Zero Tolerance Mag

“Drawing on elements from traditional metal and early thrash-, speed-, and power metal, Sanktuary’s music is quite melodic and considerably easy to listen to and take in. There are plenty of all out rock ‘n’ metal guitar histrionic, and the mildly Geddy Lee-ish vocals actually fit nicely into the picture…Capturing the best of thrash as it was in its nascent era, Sanktuary’s “Something Fierce” should appeal to fans of thrash, speed, and traditional metal alike.” 4/5 – MetalMusicArchives

“‘Hailing from the farthest reaches of Canada, The Yukon, Sanktuary are a band hot on the heels of their contemporaries laying down a mix of classic metal, power metal (US) and thrash all in one debut album release that is presented in a very nice digipak format…This is a mix of great musical genres, delivering a real exuberant energy and clear passion, Sanktuary are certainly worth checking out.'” – Brutalism

“My first impression of Something Fierce was that this was the kind of album I would have saved my allowance for. It represents everything that is good and exciting about thrash and doesn’t sacrifice musical quality for ego or showmanship. It just thrashes, from beginning to end. The best tracks on this album are those that go for sheer speed—check out “Thrill of the Kill,” “Screeching for Vengeance,” and “Fire in the Sky”—for the way these guys dive in to the speed and energy, the thrill, of the music itself. These are good thrash songs, contributions to a beloved musical style, not karaoke-style imitations.” – SeofTranquility

“With a mature, up-tempo, retro sound they could be described as a blend of Iron Maiden and early Motley Crue. But despite the comparison, they are a unique group that is definitely worth a listen…This album holds a very consistent sound that displays Sanktuary’s clear and driven musical style. All 8 songs sound like they belong on vinyl, destined to spin in a 1970’s designed garage during a rowdy house party. Sanktuary reflects badass metal from a different era and is indeed something fierce.” 5/5 – Louder Than Hell

“I love listening to this album. It’s barely left my ears since I have gotten it.” – Metal Forces Magazine

“Something Fierce is packed with enough galloping rhythms to make an entire battalion of cavalry jealous. Shades of Metallica can be heard and they even have a track called “Screeching for Vengeance.” Complete with clean vocals, ripping solos, big choruses and gang shouts, this is an uncompromising homage to the golden age of heavy metal. It’s something I like to call “buddy metal.”. Grab some buddies and some beverages and fire up Something Fierce.” – Heavy Metal.About.com

“The eight-track, 29 minute EP is almost a bit too short but always leave them wanting more, which is just what the band did. The power-trio rips out the eight cuts of molten metal with a string sense of and velocity coursing through the veins of the album. Melding classic Metal and hints of thrash, Sanktuary finds a sweet spot with some excellent songs with good delivery bolstered by good gang vocals…If you need a touchstone reference, I van hear nice bits of other great Canadian bands like Cauldron, Skullfist and all those types of acts. SOMETHING FIERCE is an admirable, sure to catch a few ears and the band will be one to watch.” – Metal-Rules

“Looking for the unholy love child of Judas Priest & Metallica, as fronted by a singer who sounds half Geddy Lee/half Lee Dorrian? Look no further! “Something Fierce” is the fine collection of whiplash groove thrash that you seek. The solid debut by displaced Yukoners, Sanktuary, takes you on a shake-your-hips, raise-your-fist, wild thrashin’ retro power metal ride.”  – CKCU 931. FM (Ottawa) – E.v’s Underground

“Something Fierce is exactly what this album is, Sanktuary has recorded one of the best  Traditional Canadian Heavy Metal Album that I have listened to in a long ass time.” – KingstonMusicReviews
