Crafting Progressive rock, industrial, and metal influences fused with his passion for classical composers such has J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi, guitarist Kevin Estrella is carving a new musical direction that few dare to attempt with his solo project PYRAMIDS ON MARS. Written all by Estrella from the guitars, bass and drums, his latest effort ‘Echo Cosmic’ is an impressive ten track journey to follow up his 2013 self-titled debut album. With an ear for melody, and natural use of odd time signatures blended with modern heavy guitar riffs and the sound of classic 1970’s analog keyboards, your adventure of music from the Mystical Red Planet begins now with the release of an album trailer for ‘Echo Cosmic’ due out on September 8, 2015.

About:

Inspired the by the studies of UFOs, aliens and the artifacts of in our solar system, PYRAMIDS ON MARS is an embodiment of spacey music that brings  both worlds together as both a musical concept, and message to the world of the alien presence. Formed in 2011, PYRAMIDS ON MARS is the solo creation of guitarist Kevin Estrella who offers an aural palette of intense, emotional, 3-dimensional, heavy and melodic progressive rock/ metal that includes a range of influences such as Baroque classical guitar, classical composers J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi along with today’s guitar virtuosos Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani.

Estrella’s latest effort under the PYRAMIDS ON MARS name is ‘Echo Cosmic’ set for release on September 8, 2015 to follow 2013’s full length self-titled debut

“I honestly think “Echo Cosmic” will do for this decade what Joe Satrani’s ‘Surfing With The Alien’ did for instrumental rock back in the ’80’s.  It captures the same passion, energy, and melodic hooks, yet it has an updated sound.  Heavier than Satriani though.  He is influenced mostly by the blues.  I am influenced by metal and classical music. I have always focused on melody.  Same with composers like J.S Bach and Antonio Vivaldi.  The masters of melody.  They are pretty much all I listen to.  So what I am doing on stage today, was the norm 300 years ago. ” comments Estrella.

Featuring ten tracks of emotionally high energy music that mostly came to life in Estrella’s dreams over the last two years, the album as whole pays homage to some of Estrella’s biggest influences while still staying true to himself and his own creations.

“On Echo Cosmic, I wanted to put more emphasis on the rhythm guitars, bass and drums.  The keyboards are still there, but they play more second fiddle sort of speaking.  Some songs are stripped right down to just bass, drums and lead guitar. I wanted this album it to be more in your face with less clutter.” says Estrella.  “The writing on this album is also inspired by the bands I love the most.  I love so many bands and love so many styles.  So, I tend to write in whatever style I want to. There are so many other band styles I want to explore.  I am probably one of the most unique bands out there that I have no one particular ‘sound’.  But all the songs have a common thread/element that identifies them as being Pyramids On Mars.  I think I have an advantage others do not have, because I can transform like a chameleon.” says Estrella.

Track by Track Breakdown of Echo Cosmic explained by PYRAMIDS ON MARS’ Kevin Estrella:
“To summarize, the overall story line of ‘Echo Cosmic’ is about mankind’s history of broadcasting radio and tv signals for over 100 years from earth to space.  Theoretically, some of these signals should be picked up by alien civilizations.  We are announcing our existence through this cosmic echo we are sending out.  We may be an insignificant species in a vast universe, but we are leaving a footprint that has infinite infuence.” comments Estrella.
1. Dream Division:  The whole introduction I heard in a dream.  Started off simply with guitar, but got more interesting when the bass and drums join in and are all doing something different from each other.  But it all worked.  Almost like division. Thus the name.
2.Battle for Rome:  Influenced by the X-Box One game trailer Ryse Son of Rome.  Watch the trailer, and you can imagine this song playing in it.

3. Death Valley Driver:  The main rhythm guitar and drums were bedtracks for this song.  Reminded me of driving fast on a desert road.

4. Tribute:  I was experimenting with some ’80’s guitar tone presets.  Improvising, I played the main rhythm part.  It sounded like something Randy Rhoads would play.  Decided to write a song dedicated to him.

5. Heaven’s Gate:  Influenced by a band who has a a dead guy with leather skin for a mascot.

6. Sailing the Ocean’s of Neptune:  Heard the main riff in my head for weeks.  Finally wrote the song.  Had a real Hendrix feel to it, with a large Extreme influence.

7. Spectre of Orion:  A song originally written in a band I used to be in called Omega Factor which consisted of just me and a drummer

8. Order of the Freemasons:  Song written back in 2011.  A very dark song about a dark subject.  It is more a work of art rather than being a radio friendly song.  A song I am very proud of.

9. Occam’s Razor:  A fast, thrash metal song with sharp, jagged teeth.  You will hear  at least three metal band influences in this one!

10. Echo Cosmic:  The flagship of the CD.  A song that creates a feeling of loneliness and isolation.  That which we are in this vast universe.

“If anything, it is taking the road less travelled – in this case, guitar-driven, instrumental music- that helps Pyramids on Mars stand out from the plethora of other groups vying for a piece of the prog rock pie.”   –  Canadian Musician Magazine

“Kevin Estrella, much like Vai, much like Satriani, can make his guitar truly communicate and display emotion. There’s a real passion that Kevin plays with that only comes along every so often…a real magic.  There could be a complete saturation with this type of instrumentally-driven music one day. I have the feeling that even IF this was to happen, Pyramids on Mars would STILL stand out miles from the rest.”  – Sleeping Bag Studios

“The music scene is very saturated with artists and bands pretty much doing the same thing (stylistically speaking).  With the current popularity of instrumental guitarists like Joe Satriani, there is a good possibility of instrumental rock coming back.  Pyramids on Mars have a niche market with very little competition that they can control the market share in that music genre.” Coalition Entertainment Management  Jesse Mitchell |Coalition Music

“And with influences like Metallica (probably post-black album), Jimi Hendrix, and Joe Satriani it is clear that Pyramids on Mars knows the kind of music they love, how to create their own version, and make us listeners enjoy it as much as they do.”  Metal Addicts

“The guitarist member is impressively high-quality.  His constant and non-stop lead work is where he shines.  Smooth, melodic, adapt and soaring lead after lead on song after song speaks of good soloing.  Kevin Estrella is in the same ballpark as David Gilmour.”  – Metallian

“Pyramids on Mars is a musical journey. Dizzying guitar work swiftly flying between genres and showing skill that few acts are capable of achieving in the country right now.”  Two Way Monologues

About: A Vancouver born Modern Thrash outfit. Titan’s Eve formed in 2008 by brothers Brian and Kyle Gamblin, with Casey Ory on Drums and later joined by Jesse Hord on bass. From day one the band has written the tunes they want to hear, and taken charge of their musical ambitions on their own terms. The early days saw the 4 piece defining their sound and making fans in their home city.

2009/2010 featured their emergence on the Canadian metal scene and the beginning of a strong fan base. They embarked on their first western Canadian tour and gave Canadians a real live taste of their sound. While gaining support and honing their music they ventured into a local studio with the talented Curt Wells. Their first album “The Divine Equal” was later mixed and mastered by Sacha Laskow of Calgary Tech-metal band Divinity. With the release and critical acclaim the album received, their first Cross-Canadian tour followed exposing even more to their unique brand of thrash metal.

2011 saw “The Divine Equal released to a bigger audience, with a 2 month self booked tour of North America. Titan’s Eve had the pleasure to play in front of crazed metal fans all over the United States. 2012 started with a bang with their first arena show and fulfilling a dream of playing with Nu-metal leaders Korn. Fresh of the success from their debut, Titan’s Eve began creating the follow up, “Life Apocalypse”. “This album was written faster and was more of an aggressive attempt at writing and recording an album,” says guitarist Kyle Gamblin. “We hammered out the songs and bunkered down to record in Calgary with Sacha Laskow for a month and recorded every day.”

Taking a turn from their debut, which was released a year previously, but staying true to their personal interpretations of honest, powerful modern metal, “the result, Life Apocalypse, shows our efforts and captures the best performances from all four members of our band. We worked very hard to deliver something that wouldn’t disappoint fans of our last album,” says Brian Gamblin.

Following the release of Life Apocalypse that summer, Titans Eve took the “Titan Train” (i.e. their 2007 Ford E-350 van) and travelled across western Canada, bringing their music to as great an audience as possible, supporting Canadian metal heavyweights Anvil followed by a tour with super-group Kill Devil Hill featuring Rex Brown of Pantera. After these incredible tours, they’re biggest venture yet came into focus with an invite to be a support act on the Arch Enemy European Khaos tour. This saw their first tour in Europe, playing to the receptive and enthusiastic European metal crowds.

2013-14 had been used for writing and recording their third album, with breaks from the rehearsals by touring westeren Canada, playing music festivals and opening for the likes of Diamoned Head, Raven and soulfly. The album was recorded in Vancouver’s legendary Warehouse Studio with renowned producer and engineer Eric Mosher. The mastering was completed by Canadian metal hero Jeff Waters of Annihilator.

Stay tuned for a new album and new tours in 2015!

“Vancouver thrash/doom metal act unleashes a monster with its third album. Tightly woven tunes are delivered with blistering power, channeling the best of their influences, which range from early era thrash (Metallica, Exodus, Judas Priest) to modern day grind and prog metal (Mastodon). If 2012’s Life Apocalypse was about confronting your demons, Chasing The Devil is about grabbing the beast by the horns. Highlight tracks: No Kingdom, The Grind” – Vancouver Sun

“Titans Eve are one of the best bands to come out of my home town, Vancouver!” – Michael Livan – The Metal Meltdown – CJSF 90.1 FM

“Titans Eve have conquered their local scene convincingly, and have put their boots into thicker mud, venturing across their native Canada. Touring with bigger names, in support fashion, hungry to belong in the next level. Chasing The Devil will be a sharp weapon to help them carve up the competition. Shepherd Says- 8/10 – Hey, I put them side by side with the giant and it felt like they weathered that barrage. Titans Eve is earning their way up the ladder.” – We Love Metal

“…they’ve certainly stepped it up on their forthcoming album. The band’s concept is good, as they blend equal portions of thrash from bands such as Annihilator and Exodus with the progressive stoner groove of Mastodon and Meshuggah…Each element of the band works in unison as classic melodies and solos are placed side-by-side with meaty chugging and gravely outer-space vocals.” – Flink.TO

“They blend classic heavy, power, and thrash metal with a dose of modern intensity, yet temper it with melody harmony for persuasive, interesting, and entertaining results. Recommended.” – Danger Dog Music Reviews

“Chasing The Devil presents us a modern thrash template that can be as melodic as it is ferocious.” – Dead Rhetoric

“This is the third full length album of the band and I wonder why they have not been signed by any label. Coming from Vancouver, Canada, these guys forged a very interesting and unique form ofthrash metal with modern elements here and there, and high doses of technique at instrumentation.” – Zombie Ritual Zine

“Chasing The Devil’s 8 tracks stick to a ferocious mid paced thrash sound, with a touch of modern metal. The dual guitar team displays not just tasty riffs but intertwining dual harmonies, which sometimes call the mighty Iron Maiden to mind, as well as settling into a deep comfortable groove when called for. Add in the down low and percussion and you’ve got one hell of a sound.” – True Metal Lives

About:

Capturing the classic thrash sound of the Big Four in their prime; early Metallica, Testament, Slayer, and Megadeth as well as lesser known cult heroes Exodus, Annihilator, Forbidden and Havok.  FALLEN ANGELS is influenced by a wide range of 80’s thrash as well as classic metal from the 70’s and 80’s. The band combines these elements in a fresh, modern sounding album with the explosive riffs and solos that one might have expected to hear on the radio around 1989.  FALLEN ANGELS is a band that thrash fans and more classic metal oriented fans can agree on because the music is catchy but also very aggressive.

Canadian Grindcore Masters FUCK THE FACTS Unleash New Track ‘Solitude’ From Upcoming Album ‘Desire Will Rot’ Due Out August 25th

Legendary Canadian grindcore outfit FUCK THE FACTS are returning to pummel your ear drums with the French track and first single ‘Solitude’ from their upcoming album ‘Desire Will Rot’ set to be unleashed on August 25th via their indie label Noise Salvation.

‘Solitude’ is now streaming via their bandcamp here and available for immediate download with digital album pre-order for only $4 here.

‘Desire Will Rot’ was recorded and mixed by FTF guitarist Topon Das at his Apartment 2 recording studio in Ottawa, ON and is the band’s first full length since 2011’s ‘Die Miserable’ and follows the band’s recent split EP with Fistfuck along with 2014’s ‘Abandoned’ and 2013’s ‘Amer’ EPs.

As previously commented by guitarist Topon Das:

“Even though we’ve been consistently releasing new music over the past few years, we haven’t put out a full-length album since 2011’s Die Miserable. I love the EPs that we’ve released since then, but this album is long overdue and was initially intended to come out much earlier.

Our 2013 EP Amer is actually the B-sides of Desire Will Rot, and the original plan was for them to be released together (like we did with Die Miserable and the Misery EP). Over the past 12 months we’ve only played a handful of shows, and this has finally allowed us the time to not only complete this new album, but also our Abandoned EP that came out in October last year, and the split with Fistfuck, which has just been released.

Obviously some similarities to the Amer EP are to be expected on this new record, but I think Desire Will Rot is also very similar to our 2008 album Disgorge Mexico in sound and feel. For me, Disgorge Mexico is the album that really defined what I wanted to do with Fuck The Facts, so to finally have a record that I feel has matched that, is something I’m very excited about.”

‘Desire Will Rot’ is available for pre-order on 12” vinyl, CD, Cassette and Digital Download at http://www.fuckthefacts.com.

About:

Started as a recording project in the late 90’s, it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic that produced a slew of underground releases drove Fuck The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena. Since then, the Ottawa-based unit has barely stopped for a breath of reconsideration, associating themselves with some of the biggest labels in underground extreme music, as well as continuing a steady output of DIY releases. Having toured hundreds of thousands of kilometers throughout North America and Europe, guitarist/founder Topon Das, vocalist Mel Mongeon, drummer Mathieu Vilandré, bassist/vocalist Marc Bourgon, and guitarist Johnny Ibay have performed at some of the biggest festivals and sweated it out in some of the smallest basements. From 2006-2011 Fuck The Facts released three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records.  Upon the completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows Fuck The Facts efforts as an entity continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper understanding of what significance their art holds to them. As one of the longest running and most recognizable names in Canadian Grindcore, FUCK THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grindcore” with no end in sight.

“The production of the song gives the music a raw, abrasive tone, accentuated by bouts of bleeding feedback. The music gets under your skin and writhes like worms in your head. Its dismal melodies tend to stay in your head, too. The finishing instrumental segment over the video’s closing credits is eerie, dramatic, and powerful — and it offers no hope either.” –NoCleanSinging.com

Biography:

Creaking, bleak and articulate in its fury, Idolatry perform dynamic black metal that is at once cold and calculating, and then a schizophrenic catharsis. Comprised of members from Edmonton’s finest pedigree of extreme metal with singular vision to be old Norway’s soldier in Canada’s frozen tundra of misery. Live, Idolatry is corpse painted, spiked, and manic, raiding crowds of their attention to all else….terrifying. At the pen, Idolatry is wise and ancient. Heavily steeped in philosophy and the defense of Atheistic Satanism and the expulsion of abhorrent inner turmoil.

Fear what is coming….. Lest the mirrors paint your face in our madness.

Canadian epic death metal band VESPERIA has put the finishing touches on their brand new music video for the as-of-yet unreleased song, ‘The Western Tempests’. The band recently emerged from the famous Camp 30 – which is a dilapidated and abandoned prisoner of war camp in Bowmanville, Ontario.

“The new music video for The Western Tempests is dark. Very dark.” comments band bassist and frontman, Morgan Rider. “We built the story of the video around the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Spending from sundown to sunup over two weekends to give the video its clutching darkness and disturbing atmosphere have definitely given us the result we were looking for.”

Biography:

Outcasts among wise men and fools alike, the New Jacobin Club is a fiendish group of musicians, poets, painters and performance artists who have been entertaining and provoking since the mid 1990’s. Combining seedy bohemian stage theatrics with bombastic art rock anthems has given the long lived ensemble a shocking and original edge that has attracted as much heated controversy as it has fiercely loyal fans.

Beginning as a power trio based in the Western Canadian city of Saskatoon, the New Jacobin Club signed to U.S. indie label Transparent Records in 1998 and released “A Lesson in Mortality”.  In 2003 “Retake the Throne,” their second full length album, became a minor Canadian college radio hit, creeping on to the national top 100 chart by the year’s end. By 2009, the NJC had become infamous for their provocative live show featuring unsettling freakshow stunts and what would become signature pyro tricks such as “exploding” cymbals and lighting microphone stands on fire. They released the epic gothic rock-opera “This Treason” the following year accompanied with “Inside the Cannibal Circus,” a DVD complete with concept video, live concert and candid documentary style footage. The double disc set was met with even more college radio success and sparked strong opinions from critics in Canada and worldwide.

In 2014, the band returned with their next shocker ‘Soldiers of The Mark’ released on September 2, 2014 is sure to make your ears cringe with its ten tracks of insanity. Along with that release, NJC offered fans a very special and limited edition “Soldiers of the Mark” hardcover coffee-table format lyric book that was a joint effort with Calgary, AB based RunRabbit Entertainment. RunRabbit is notable for their independent short films (“Lilith” premiered at the 2013 Calgary Horrorcon and featured music by the New Jacobin Club prominently in the soundtrack) as well as their dark and provocatively themed photography. The book contains not only the complete lyrics to the album, but an introduction, brief commentary written by band members and entourage, and full album credits. Contributing visual artists include Jess Thamnos (responsible for the iconic and menacing album cover ), Kathryn Trembach (band photographer) and Candice Grosenick (graphic artist behind the band’s concert posters and merchandise).

The group is led by founding father and roaring frontman Xerxes Praetorius Horde (“The Horde” to his allies), singing opposite Poison Candi (theremin, percussion, vocals) and backed by The Luminous (electric cello),The Ruin (bass), The Rat King (drums) and Mistress Nagini (backing vocals, synth) . On stage the band is often joined by a colorful cast of collaborators including performance artists Firecrotch Jones, Raunchy Rabies, Rima the Birdgirl, and drummer/programmer Eclipse.

Described as “Fiery and imposing while still retaining a degree of intelligence and fore-thought” (Exclaim! Canada’s independent music authority), “Energizing and engaging” (PureGrain Audio, USA) and “a gloriously black exercise in dark psychedelia” (BCFM Sunday Rock Show Review, UK), the New Jacobin Club never tire of dancing on genre boundaries with nods to classic goth, 70’s rock, power metal, blues, somber folk and even a hint of danceable industrial funk. The NJC has shared the stage with KMFDM, Voltaire, the Groovie Ghoulies, Nashville Pussy, the Nekromantix and countless others. Their signature vocal hooks and riffs have propelled them onto local and national Canadian independent radio charts, several movie soundtracks and even their own cable televised acoustic special.

““Soldiers of the Mark” the latest album from horror rockers New Jacobin Club is in my opinion the group’s strongest release to date, its infectious I haven’t been able to stop listening to it. In short, I love this fucking record.” – Extreme Metal Television

“Their newest album, Soldiers of the Mark, is chock full of complex arrangements that utilize all of these instruments along with a headbanging rhythm section of guitar, bass and drums that often lead in to a chorus of both male and female vocals singing in harmony. Just as your mother always told you, never judge a book by it’s cover. Before you realize it, you’ll be headbanging along as you progress through Soldiers of the Mark. ” – Damnation Mag

“The New Jacobin Club make the cast of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show look like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! For certain, their live shows must be out of this world…Very good album, and one that deserves to be heard far beyond a horror rock niche audience.” – Hellbound

“Note the New Jacobin Club. Matched by three men, the three women bring such unconventional instruments as theremin, cello and keyboards to the usual metal range of drums, bass, and guitars. After the big hammering beat of opener The Mark, signalling the start of a war between the forces of dark and light, what a pleasant surprise to hear a female voice join the full-throated wail of vocalist The Horde – their harmony making Parade of Innocents a standout track.” – Saskatoon Star Phoenix

“Their latest full length, Soldiers Of The Mark, offers up ten forceful tracks of atmospheric, horror infused punk-rock sure to satisfy their audience’s ghoulish desire for hard hitting gothic tunage.” – The Punk Site

“The New Jacobin Club has crafted an purposeful and highly varied adventure sure to make it’s mark in the horror community.  As such, Soldiers Of The Mark manages to skirt the redundancy that often results from playing to such a particular and narrow niche.  Thanks to a rotating cast of vocalists and a host of sparingly interspersed instruments, the album can be enjoyed from start to finish, and during every eerie moment in between.” – The Punk Site

“The band hits hard and heavy, giving you a kick to the forehead and making you notice them and the great talent that is on display here. This is an album that brings different sounds and genres together to make a glorious racket.” – Altered Frequencies

“Soldiers of The Mark is The New Jacobin Club at a whole new level. The band is still one of gothic rock’s finest protagonists but the band has now set down firm marks in rock ‘n’ roll a whole with rewarding recognition surely set to follow.” – Ring Master Review

“I really loved the blend and the attitude of it so if you like horror punk definitely check this album out!” – The Blood Shed

“this album is actually plenty of fun. Some arrangements remind me of early Prong while others near the metalcore territory of the Avenged Sevenfold variety, especially solos, but every track is surprisingly different and has a catchy melody that leads the song to its very soon conclusion as the songs average about 3 minutes a piece. Every once in a while it’s good to listen to something that stands out from the pack. I’ll be interested in what these guys and a girl come up with on the follow up.’ – Eternal Terror

“Fiery and imposing while still retaining a degree of intelligence and fore-thought.” – Exclaim!

“Energizing and engaging!” – Pure Grain Audio

“a gloriously black exercise in dark psychedelia” – The BCFM Sunday Rock Show Review (UK)

“Worthy of a listen, if only to fuel your desire to see their amazing live show, which may change the way you see music forever.” BC Musician

“…a patchwork of Frankenstein of diverse influences, dueling guitars, enormous synths, pounding drums and bass, and most important, what really sets it apart – incredible musicianship.” – Planet S Mag

“…staright out of the Glenn Danzig (Misfits era) tradition – though much more engaging than Danzig ever was… If you ever wondered what Gwar’s interpretation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show might be like, The New Jacobin Club has your answer.” – Harvest Moon Music

“Romps with a breath that is vibrant and refreshing…wonderfully flamboyant, theatrical and wicked.” – Ring Master Review

We’d like to thank our fans, family and friends for their continued patience and support. Extinction Necromance is, in the literal definition, an Extended Play of Malignance. We feel like each song explores different sections of the Blackened Death metal genre and it served as a great outlet creatively. We fully support everything we’ve written up until this point and will continue to release music we are very proud of! Thanks.” comments vocalist Levi Meyers.
About:
Following in the footsteps of bands such as Behemoth, Dissection, and Immortal, XUL has left the beaten path to forge their own brand of blackened death metal that’s overflowing with crushing rhythms seamlessly coalescing into atmospheric passages and accompanied by a storm of punishing percussion with vicious vocal harmonies to expand on their previous work on Malignance.
This follow up EP, ‘Extinction Necromance’ heralds a new age of northern darkness with songs reminiscent of cold lonely tombs, malevolent intent and predatory nature. XUL captivates audiences like light attracts flies as they delve deeper into the maelstrom and build on an already impressive Western Canadian following that has seen them support heavyweights including Obscura, Exhumed, Vreid, Kampfar, Woods of Ypres, Macabre, Withered, Cephalic Carnage, Archspire and 3 Inches of Blood.
Upcoming Dates:
June 5 – Calgary, AB – Calgary Metal Fest
June 11 – Ryley, AB – Farmageddon Open Air
July 17 – Armstrong, BC – Armstrong Metal Fest
July 31 – Drumheller, AB – Loud As Hell Fest
Aug 14 – Vanderhoof, BC – Metallion Fest

“Black Metal fans, get ready- XUL is ready to take over the world and their latest record,Extinction Necromance- may help them do just that. In the vein of bands like Behemoth and Immortal, XUL could be the next big thing in the genre and Extinction Necromance is the perfect follow up to their last record- Malignanceand picks up right where they left off a few years ago.” – The Front Row Report

“Chaos Requiem’ is my favourite track from this release. A guitar sound captured well again by Jeff Bryan and delivered supremely by the band. What separated this track from the rest for me was how the vocals were delivered with a connection to the drums and guitar riffs, there was a greater natural feeling – not a second was wasted and attention was demanded throughout….Xul clearly have riffs by the bucket load though. Any fans of Behemoth and Dissection must check this band out.” Taste of Khaos Magazine

“This new CD contains 4 tracks forged in a quite peculiar and solid mix of death metal and black metal. Actually, these musicians took the best lines and structures from both genres and added a very provocative dose of technical metal and morbid vocals; the result is superlative as you never get bored with these large tracks. Everything is tied by high quality structures and for moments they developed some excellent sections in the vein of progressive stuff, and that gives a particular taste as all tracks sound quite balanced. Also, I have to say that they don’t forget the true spirit of metal music and you can hear thick roots of epic lines here and there. My total support is for bands like this one who really know how to deliver good things and build aggressive metal music with class and good taste.” – Zombie Ritual Zine

“When you have a band who takes all the best elements of Death Metal and Black Metal without being cliche or too big for their britches, THAT’S a winning combination. Such is the case with Vernon, British Columbia’s own XUL, a five-piece metal machine hell-bent on watching the world burn….XUL has what it takes to gain themselves legions of new followers in the Blackened Death realm with each coming record. I’m very excited to see what happens next. Extinction Necromance is out May 19, so don’t delay!! STANDOUT TRACKS: ALL OF THEM” – Amps and Green Screens

Legendary Canadian grindcore outfit FUCK THE FACTS announce their return with their latest album ‘Desire Will Rot’ set to be unleashed on August 25th via their own indie label Noise Salvation. The album is the band’s first full length since 2011’s ‘Die Miserable’ and follows the band’s recent split EP with Fistfuck along with 2014’s ‘Abandoned’ and 2013’s ‘Amer’ EPs. Recorded and mixed by FTF guitarist Topon Das at his Apartment 2 recording studio in Ottawa, ON, Das comments the following on the upcoming album.
‘Desire Will Rot’ will be released on 12” vinyl, CD, Cassette and Digital Download. Pre-Orders available at http://www.fuckthefacts.com.
