Montreal, QC – September 19, 2022

Rockshots Records – Ride The “Last Tide” w/ MindAhead’s Next Single Off Upcoming Album Out Oct 2022

New Album “6119 – Part I” Out October 28, 2022

Ride the “Last Tide” of progressive avant-garde metal from Italy’s MindAheaD with their second single off their forthcoming sophomore album “6119 Part 1” being released via Rockshots Records at the end of October.

The latest track to be previewed off their upcoming full-length record, “Last Tide” is an emotional ballad that tells the next chapter of the concept album’s character “6119”. The band explains in further detail:

“Lost in a kind of frame, like an endless instant, ‘Last Tide’ describes where “6119” finds himself on the seashore, watching the waves and the sunset. He reflects on the natural change of things that, just like the waves of the sea, never stop changing, and thinks back with nostalgia and hope to the female figure seen in the desert. But this sudden and almost unique carefree situation is the result of an error, a power surge in the Machine’s connections that allow “6119” to have an independent vision of the program, an autonomous thought, you can say. Soon (in fact, it is the shortest track on the album), as soon as the sun went down, the Machine reestablishes itself and again takes control of “6119’s” consciousness.”

Watch the music video for “Last Tide” at https://youtu.be/b8fxBNEIGaI

MindAhead‘s next full-length offering “6119 Part 1” follows their 2017 debut “Reflections” released on Roman label Revalve Records. Just like its predecessor, the band’s new offering is once again a concept album with a complex, personal and unusual sound to test the limits of their songwriting. “6119 Part 1” is a continuation of the previous work on “Reflections”, which will tell us the story of 6119, the main character, through a surreal, oneiric journey, always poised between physical space and the realm of the mind. Trapped in this dreamlike kaleidoscope, he proceeds heedless of the consequences, hoping to find at the end of the journey (the “Part II,” currently in production) the reason why all this is happening to him.

Merging different aspects, sometimes opposite, of human feeling, bringing them together in a colorful and personal musical proposal, which has its roots in influences ranging from prog 70s to death metal, the band explains the new album in further detail:

“This album is a concept realized with the aim of telling a story that straddles the line between dystopian science fiction and the psychological investigation of the human mind, so the music and lyrics were created in order to reach these goals. We would like the listening experience to be completely immersive. We would like the listener to be able to take a break from the real world and step into another dimension, one that is distant but at the same time well known, not alien, but almost familiar. The listener should passionately follow the events of ‘6119’ in its inner and outer search for reality, in a story that began in the previous album ‘Reflections’ and will end in the band’s next release, so as to complete a narrative trilogy.”

Having shared sharing the stage with bands such as Jinjer, Vision Divine, Deathless Legacy, Domine, Pino Scotto, MindAhead is recommended for fans of Opeth, Ayreon, Haken, Katatonia and Pink Floyd. “6119 Part 1” is due out October 28th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

“MindAhead are a band of innovation in metal. They are on the vanguard of where avant garde and progressive metal is going into the future. I believe Reflections is opening up another door of true ideas and standards for this kind of experimental metal. They continue Italy’s rich under rated progressive rock and metal tradition. They have a very distinctive and unique sound that will stand out among the current metal landscape. MindAhead’s Reflections is one of the absolute strongest debut albums over the last 25 years. I am giving MindAhead’s Reflections a perfect 5/5.” – Power of Prog

“The music captured different moods very well that it was almost like an emotional roller coaster listening to this album. Kyo Calati and Frank Novelli did an awesome job singing together. With his ferocious, strength-y growls and screams and her beautiful, serene, innocent voice; they complimented each other like peanut butter and jelly. Great vocalists, great playing and great music! I recommend giving it a listen.” – Metal Temple

“MINDAHEAD have done a lot right on their debut album. Reflections is exciting and entertaining, brings – with the exception of the quiet Farewell – power and surprises with its modern and progressive expressions. An unexpectedly strong debut.” – Vamspter

“Between long suites (Amigdala and Three Sides Of A Dangerous Mind) and more immediate pieces, as in the case of On The Dead Snow and Emerald Eyes, the sextet demonstrates an uncommon determination, and the proven ability to confront a modern and evolved conception of metal. A knockout blow that deserves to be properly exploited, by a band with great potential.” – Rock Hard Italy (2017)

“Among MindAheaD’s many musical influences are the 70’s, progressive rock and death metal. The nature of this band is multifaceted and the band’s name itself is a word that blends thought (mind) and body (head).” – System Failure Webzine

“MINDAHEAD have all the ingredients to become a safe bet, with their own personality and a full-length that, being their debut, could be preparing us for a spiritual successor of OPETH.” – Necromance Magazine

“If you like your progressive but don’t mind a few aggressive vocals in the mix, not that they really dominate, then this is highly recommended. The female vocal is excellent and the countering of the two works perfectly.” – The Rocktologist

Montreal, QC – September 16, 2022

Rockshots Records – 17 Crash’s New Single “My World” Off Fourth Studio Album “Stamina” Out November 2022

Tuscan, Italy’s 17 Crash will be releasing their fourth studio album “Stamina” on November 18th via Rockshots Records.

Offering up a fresh, powerful, melodic, loud, and modern sound, 17 Crash will take you on a journey with a rock n’ roll ride to your favorite destinations and it begins with the album’s first single “My World” accompanied by a music video.

“This song was written to show how our world is really shaped and all the things we want/don’t want from it. All the obstacles it hides and all the tricks we have to fight against it to go on.” adds the band.

The music video can be viewed and heard at https://youtu.be/EDUN9QPietk

LISTEN – https://bfan.link/my-world-2

17 Crash‘s new record “Stamina” isa much more complex and profound piece of work written entirely during the endless lockdowns from the 2020 pandemic that the world experienced. Their passion for the 80’s glam / hard n’ heavy rock n’ roll crossed with a particular duality between human struggle and the will to fight and resist against all the odds. It might seem that 17 Crash has come a long way, but rest assured they are just warming up for what’s to come.

Colliding their emotions, fears, and wishes, mixing up everything they got inside, talking about their experiences and how they changed over these past testing years, 17 Crash explains their album in further detail.

“People should listen to this album very carefully, trying to catch the real spirit of it. Words have a very important message in this one, considering the times we are living in and what happened in 2020. The singles show what we are and what we want to say after these two terrible years. It’s like a concept about this crazy modern era and all the effects it brought to us. This record, it’s a box with all the emotions and the feeling we had during the composing process. We are talking about being us at 100% and our fans know that we always speak just about the truth. On this album, we shared everything we wanted to. No secrets, just feelings.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of H.E.A.T, Crazy Lixx, Eclipse, Hardline, and Stryper, “Stamina” is available for pre-order at the following link – https://bit.ly/17Crash_Stamina

Never bored of being hungry to see people dancing, and having fun, inclusion is one of the biggest aspects of 17 Crash, the fans are the gig. The band will be performing on show dates to support the record that will be revealed at a later time.

About:
Driven by the passion of drummer Phil Hill and singer Ros Crash, 17 Crash began their crazy journey back in 2011.

At an earlier stage of their career, 17 Crash was a true and vibrant synonym of vintage 80s LA Glam Rock Style: big hair, leather pants, and loud guitars. Distinctive attire and growling sound finally merged into the debut album “Reading Your Dirty Minds” (2015). Right after their first release, the band toured extensively throughout the Italian peninsula while making sure the name of the band was being heard.

Evolving and exploring new sounds, it didn’t take that long until they found what they were looking for with the release of the second studio album “Hit The Prey” (2018). Finding the right balance between the 80s sound and modern AOR, the new record marked a significant turning point both in terms of musicianship and career approach.

Another two years of touring passed until a further stage of evolution with their third album “Through Hell And Back” (2020) reconfirming previous collaboration with long-esteemed colleagues Alessio Lucatti in production and Simone Mularoni for mixing and mastering. The third chapter written by 17 Crash featured groovy heavy riffs, polished sounds, and even sharper tunes, effectively establishing the band as a true landmark not only within national borders, but in the international hard & heavy landscape as well.

Now in 2022, they will present their fourth album “Stamina” on Rockshots Records on November 18th.

Canada’s All Else Fails is releasing its tenth studio recording this year, the aggressive and forlorn EP “The Incident at Black Lake”. Intended to be listened to as a single piece of music, it is dark, both musically and lyrically as vocalist/guitarist, Barrett Klesko wrote his parts in the darkest, most distressed headspace he has ever been in. He says that during the writing of this album, he was convinced that he had been unglued from time, and was barely functioning. This personal torment boils over into the first track written for the EP “I, Defiler”. Klesko explains further:

“In the early days of my spiral, when confusion about my own state was at its highest. I was doing everything I could to understand the suffering I was experiencing. I tried using Acid in an attempt to explore my own mind. Informally guided trips allowed me to see aspects of myself that I hadn’t considered, and I was desperately searching for clarity I couldn’t find in the real world. Primarily this song is about those explorations of self, both the positives and the futility. Musically the song is erratic, kinetic, and industrial. It is heavy, both in guitars but in electronics and noise as well, and carries a time change into its bridge that furthers the disconnect between perception and reality.”

“I, Defiler” is the brutal duality of man. Of the search for knowledge, while being blind to our own instincts and ambitions. It is poisoning one’s self to be able to see clearly. It is the beauty and loss of the endless night sky. It is seeing one’s self and being repulsed by the hollow behind our own eyes. It is despairingly industrial, always changing, relentless in its own turmoil; shifting between grinding guitar work and guttural screams to unnerving digital cleans backed by melodic programming.

Compared to their other nine albums, “The Incident at Black Lake” is heavier than they have been in a while, which fans always love from them, but it’s also much stranger. There is a lot of chaotic energy in the recording, but they have placed every distorted chug, every strange gurgle, detuned synth, erratic glitch, or doom-inducing bass drop carefully.

Recommended for fans of Killswitch Engage, Revocation, and Soilwork, the single “I, Defiler” can be heard via TheCirclePit – https://youtu.be/x_6SuAOiS1A

The album “The Incident at Black Lake” is being released on September 30, 2022.

About:

Over the last 15 years, Edmonton, Alberta based award-winning metal band All Else Fails has become a cornerstone of the melodic heavy metal community in Canada. Combining intense riffs, intricate rhythm sections, brutal guttural screams, and melodic yet unusual vocal lines paired with relevant and relatable lyrics, All Else Fails’ message resonates with us all.

Formed in 2006 with the release of their self-titled EP, All Else Fails has gone on to release 9 studio albums, many of which have garnered awards and nominations from across the Canadian music industry and have propelled the band into live performances all over the world, including their massively successful tour of India in 2017.

For the past two years, the band has been hard at work writing their new album “The Incident at Black Lake.” A deeply personal, brutally honest, and staggeringly complex take on the reality-bending mental struggles of vocalist and founder, Barrett Klesko (The Misfires, The Order of Chaos). The band is filled out by guitarist John Saturley (The Order of Chaos, Skepsis), bassist and vocalist Coco Lee (Eternal Prophecy), and drummer Nelson Collins-Lee (The 21st Agenda, Skepsis). The album is produced by Bevin Booth of In the Booth Recordings and engineered at The Electric Treehouse in Edmonton, Alberta.

In 2022, the band is returning to their DIY roots by mindfully abandoning their social media and redirecting their energy to contributing to their local metal scene by building a direct personal connection to their fans and followers, living in line with a humanist philosophy and encouraging a culture of support between artists. All Else Fails’ new single “Flesh /Excess /Wealth” drops in early September with the full EP “The Incident at Black Lake” releasing September 30th. Fans can experience their explosive new live show this fall in Western Canada.

RivetSkull Dive Into The Turmoil Of Relationships With Video For “Crash and Burn”

Seattle and Los Angeles-based heavy metal four-piece RivetSkull’s re-imagined full-length album was released on July 8th of this year. “Trail of Souls: Samsara” is a complete re-recording of the band’s self-published 2020 album “Trail of Souls”. The first single released was “Crash and Burn”, along with a psychedelic video. Of the single, RivetSkull says:

“‘Crash and Burn’ is about the pitfalls of relationships. Though you can try to stay clear of danger, sometimes you can’t help but fall into the same traps! The new recording and production convey the drive and momentum a song about recklessness should be swimming in. We think we got there with this song and all the others on the album.”

Oozing energy and easy-to-move-to vibes, the single brings back the classic sound of the 90s, played with precision and expert musicianship. The members of RivetSkull have been playing together previously for many years and vocalist Chad McMurray has training from Maestro David Kyle (vocal coach to Geoff Tate, Layne Staley, Ann Wilson), ensuring that the band is able to deliver a high level of production and professionalism. After self-recording and releasing their debut album during the global pandemic, they’ve revisited their songs with professional production that captures the massive sound that fans have come to expect from their live shows.

Since its release, “Trail of Souls: Samsara” has only been gaining momentum. Within the first month of its release, RivetSkull was fortunate enough to be featured on Band in Seattle, KISW’s Loud and Local Band of the Week, and they were interviewed for the Concerts that Made Us podcast.

Recorded at London Bridge Studio (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Queensrÿche) and produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Deftones, Seether), “Trail of Souls: Samsara” promises much more than a sonic retouch of the original. The reworked collection features new cover artwork and the previously unreleased recording of a cover of Aerosmith’s “Kings and Queens”.

Recommended for fans of Dio, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest, RivetSkull is well suited for those with a taste for classic metal.

The music video “Crash and Burn” can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/fXibzQQKvJM

About:
It would be easy to call RivetSkull a traditional heavy metal band, but they’re so much more than that. RivetSkull has taken the very roots of heavy metal and forged it into something new and fresh. Spawned from the same DNA that created the beasts that roamed the dark valleys of Birmingham, the foothills of the Cascades, and the plains of Texas, there’s no denying RivetSkull’s heavy metal heritage. This is hard-hitting music blasted over record store chatter, the buzzing of a tattoo gun, or the revving of a motorcycle engine. But, as any metalhead will tell you, heavy metal is more than just a genre: it’s therapy, it’s community, it’s a style – and it’s a movement. And it’s always evolving.

RivetSkull has created a modern sound that’s as unique as each member’s influences, from punk to country, from alternative to funk. Listening to RivetSkull, it’s easy to envision the band’s live show: Chad McMurray’s clean vocals soaring over a sea of bobbing bodies in black band t-shirts, Mark X. Plog’s boundary-defying guitar ascending over raised beers and outstretched metal horns, Michael Robson’s emphatic drums and Mark Hopkins’ booming bass rattling the bones beneath black jeans and denim vests. Like good metal – you’ll feel it in your core as much as you’ll hear it in your ears. All of this is brought to you by a dedicated and hard-working band of brothers. They are RivetSkull and they’re bringing the past into the future.

Montreal, QC – September 9, 2022

TheProgSpace Premiering SEVENTH STATION’s Music Video For “The Heart of a Nation (Nadia)”

New Album “Heal the Unhealed” Out November 7th

Seventh Station is a progressive metal band based in Slovenia, who are excited to announce their second album “Heal the Unhealed”. The record is an international effort – rehearsed and recorded through five different studios on three continents ranging from the United States, Slovenia, and Turkey. A new level of musicality and artistic expression blends magnificent sweeps, heavy riffs, and intricate melodies together, creating an eclectic proggy frame for personal topics. The second single is “The Heart of a Nation (Nadia)”.

In the album, guitarist Dmitri Alperovich wanted to bring his personal point of view on his roots as a Soviet Union child. Spending his childhood in the Soviet Union, then his youth in Israel, and finally having moved to Slovenia, he went through a lot of different circumstances and the processes of adaptation for each – also resulting in anxiety and panic attacks after all these significant paradigm shifts. “Heal The Unhealed” is a personal reflection on these experiences and the psychological states they brought, voiced through different characters, including the primary actors of the conditions in the Soviet Union. He continues to explain:

“While the album started to take shape as the lyrical content and the general concepts were formed, this song became the first part of the Soviet Union / Stalin trilogy, which later became the main topic of the album. The song describes the poisonous relationship between the former Soviet Union leader, Joseph Stalin, and his second wife Nadezhda Sergeyevna Alliluyeva (Nadia). The official video was shot in Jerusalem, featuring contemporary dance choreography, put together by choreographer Maya Popova and the co-creator Anatoly Shenfeld.”

Having studied classical music and being an avid fan of many other music genres, Alperovich’s idea of Seventh Station emerged from applying the knowledge and techniques from classical music in to progressive metal, creating a platform for him to express his ideas. The result is daring, colourful, and artistic. Seventh Station is recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Opeth.

The music video for “The Heart of a Nation (Nadia)” can be seen and heard via its premiere on TheProgSpace HERE.

The full album “Heal the Unhealed” comes out on November 7, 2022.

About: Seventh Station is a progressive metal band based in Slovenia, led by Israeli Guitarist Dmitri Alperovich and Turkish Keyboardist Eren Başbuğ. Constructing their sound by fusing progressive metal with contemporary classical music, the band’s new album Healed the Unhealed is their second full-length record, released independently. Featuring an international lineup, Davidavi “Vidi” Dolev (Vocals), Jure Lopatic (Bass), and Grega Plamberger (Drums). On their new record, Seventh Station adds to their “on the edge” performances and compositions more blood, more sweat, and more tears.

Formed between the Academy of Music & Dance in Jerusalem and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Seventh Station released its debut album Between Life and Dreams in 2016. After relocating to Europe and a few line-up changes, Alperovich and Başbuğ knew no borders in the search for uncompromising compositions and musical executors, progressive and challenging. After several tours between the Middle East and post-Yugoslavia, the band gathered together on recording ‘Heal the Unhealed’. Inspired by the Second World War and the Soviet Union, the album is an hour-long reflection in the eyes of Alperovich, who was born in Minsk, Belarus, moved to Israel and eventually found his way to Slovenia. Featuring surrealistic epos, harnessing the band’s skillful abilities in order to express Kafkaesque situations, Heal the Unhealed examines resemblances between dictatorships and the personality disorders of an artist.

Seventh Station is now gearing up for their upcoming record Heal the Unhealed released on November 7th, 2022, along with a supporting tour through Europe and the Middle East, to be announced later this Fall.

“Mythos” is the second release from Canada’s Hunting Giants following their 2018 EP “Skyward Eyes”. They have upped the ante with this new record, offering bigger riffs, wilder stories, and more layers to entangle listeners. The primary themes in their next single “Too Big To Kill” are domination and avarice, as told through the eyes of a hunter.

The track immediately starts with a riff that brings to mind the thrill of the hunt which is encapsulated by the lyrical repetition of ‘Row’ as our anti-hero cuts through the waves, hot on the trail of his next quarry. As the instruments are hushed, the lyrics speak from the perspective of a man who desires only domination and finds satisfaction in ending the lives of those he hunts. The band continues:

“One of the major singles on the Mythos album, Too Big To Kill is a non-stop adventure with the highs and lows of the raging rapids. This unending momentum builds throughout the song revealing how remorseless yet effective he is at killing until we arrive at the bridge, where the tables are turned and he finds himself fleeing from the beast which he sought to trap. This song is an exploration of those who love violence and the inevitable bloody end which they attract towards themselves.”

For Hunting Giants, their lyrics come from within. They can be inspired by pieces of literature, emotion derived from lived experiences, or ideas which take root within the mind and must be expressed through song. They encapsulate emotion while being entertaining and thought-provoking, giving the lister yet another layer to focus on amidst the riffs and melodies.

“Mythos” is a unique album expressed with a great diversity of energetic auditory textures. Each song hits hard with novel approaches and fresh ideas that will induce a comforting nostalgia in modern rock fans looking for something new and awesome.

Energetic, theatrical, and groovy, Hunting Giants is recommended for fans of Audioslave, Muse, and Tool.

The lyric video “Too Big To Kill” can be seen and heard via its premiere on AllAboutTheRock HERE.

The album “Mythos” is out on September 30, 2022.

Multi-Instrumentalist MATT MILLER Unleashes Shred Finesse Video “The Obscurantist”

New Album “Monument of Velocity” Out Now!

Akademia-Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter Matt Miller side-steps these industry achievements to embark on something deeply introspective and personal; a transcendent, reactionary and vile personage embodying soaring progressive melodies and captivating crushing rhythms which engulf the listener in black clouds of desperation and shimmering hope. Through his solo project, he has released four cover albums and three original albums the most recent of which is “Monument of Velocity”, which came out this past July. Miller is now presenting a music video for the track “The Obscurantist”, which is an intricate story full of suspense, twists, and turns. He comments on the album:

“With Monument of Velocity, I set out to push my creative limits by not relying on any preconceived notions and let each song unfold as its own entity. Which in turn actually created a stronger continuity between the tracks. By writing the majority of the album without a guitar in hand I was able to think outside the box and come up with more interesting melodies and more dynamic rhythms. This process allowed me to achieve a greater level of melodicism and generate a stronger emotional response.”

Miller started his solo project during the Covid lockdown as he wanted to release all the music he had written and wasn’t being played in the projects he was currently in. With “Monument of Velocity” he knew he wanted to make another instrumental album but also wanted to create something that pushed musical limits and was still fun to listen to. Along with the most recent release he has released a cover album this year and plans on releasing a tech death album with his new project Chasm of Discord and a re-recording of my first instrumental EP “MMXVII”.

A wide variety of influences can be heard throughout Matt Miller’s music, and it is recommended for fans of Necrophagist, Obscura, and Dragon Force.

The video for “The Obscurantist” can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/5PJQpqLZSz4

“Monument of Velocity” was released on July 19, 2022 via Blood Blast Distribution (powered by Nuclear Blast and Believe Digital) and available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music.

About:
Akademia-Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter MATT MILLER side-steps these industry achievements to embark on something deeply introspective and personal; a transcendent, reactionary and vile personage embodying soaring progressive melodies and captivating crushing rhythms which engulf the listener in black clouds of desperation and shimmering hope.

Drawing upon the gut-wrenching timed-precision of European death metal stalwarts NECROPHAGIST and SPAWN OF POSSESSION, MATT MILLER progressively blends this approach with deep synthetic and symphonic atmospheres like that of DEVIN TOWNSEND, often arriving at surprisingly emotive and heart-clenching metallic passages like that of RIVERS OF NIHIL.

Calling upon other single-member death metal projects such as PUTRID PILE or INSIDIOUS DECREPANCY, the live performance can best be described as a reclaiming and repainting of the earth by a relentlessly sweeping and deranged berzerker appealing to the vast minions of the extreme music. The combination of elements within MATT MILLER distills the traditions of the international metal realm, the progressive atmospheres of modernity, and reactions to a vile world into a single unrelenting persona of despair and vengeance.

MATT MILLER’s first self-produced instrumental EP came in 2017, drawing on influences from classic metal bands such as MEGADETH and IRON MAIDEN to shredders like YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and PAUL GILBERT, while combining a technical death metal approach to create a maximum intensity music with a frenetic and frantic feel and ferocious atmosphere. Since then, and a few releases into this brief career, MATT MILLER boasts 12,000 consistent monthly listeners on Spotify before hitting the international touring circuit. This was garnered from his 2017 EP, the 2021 self-released ‘Decrepit Shed’ LP, the ‘Reekomposer/Decomposer’ covers double LP, as well as the ‘8E’s’ 1980’s themed covers LP.

In 2022 Matt released the formidable original instrumental LP Monument of Velocity on Blood Blast Distribution. Matt also toured supporting Rings of Saturn on the CYBER SHRED TOUR 2022. 29 shows encompassing the continental United States. Matt has released the cover LP Only What the Light Allows through Blood Blast Distribution as well.

Matt Miller hails from the rain soaked northern Oregon Coast; influenced by the natural foreboding environment. Moving into the present, MATT MILLER has joined up with Extreme Management Group to spread a singularly relentless auditory mind-bend.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 1, 2022

Italian proggers EVEN FLOW announce they will be releasing their latest EP “Mediterraneo” this coming October 2022. The EP follows their three EPs “Dream Weaver” (2008), “Mother” (2019), and “Flower Paths” (2013), and two albums “Life Has Just Begun” (2017) and “Ancient Memories (2011).

“Mediterreano” sees the band approaching the record with progressive metal in the rhythm with vocal lines oriented towards power metal with AOR eighties influences. Lyrically, the EP speaks of love, hope, sadness, and joy for the future. Guitarist Pietro Paolo Lunesu explains the record in further detail:

“The five songs that make up Mediterraneo are gloriously uplifting anthems that draw you from your world of cares and worries into an exhilarating musical realm of dreams. The songs are concise and finely honed, yet seem to contain an ever-expanding universe to explore within their duration. For example, the title track, ‘Mediterraneo’, is perhaps the EPs crowning glory, building through multiple layers, each more captivating than the last, but in truth every note from the first bombastic chords that usher in opener ‘Ocean Lies’ to the final spiraling guitar solo of ‘Mediterraneo’ is sheer melodic, progressive metal perfection.”

The EP was immaculately mixed and mastered by Michele Guaitoli (Visions Of Atlantis, Temperance) with spectacular artwork by Mickael Briot of Mythrid Art (Nightmare).

“Mediterraneo” also features Even Flow‘s new lineup with vocalist Marco Pastorino (Fallen Sanctuary, Temperance) and bassist Luca Negro (Temperance) joining the Lunesu brothers Pietro Paolo (guitar) and Giorgio (drums).

The band has released their music video for the EP’s opening track “Ocean Lies”, which was the first song written for the record.

“I thought of opening the EP ”Mediterraneo” with Ocean Lies because I considered it the most powerful, but at the same time with a great musical balance characterized by a softer part and a part a bit Latin in the guitar solo section. Lyrically, the song represents at times, the desolation of the world, but at the same time thinking optimistically for the future.” adds Pietro.

The music video for “Ocean Lies” can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/CL7p2lvkM58

Over the years, since making their debut in 2008 with their EP “Dream Weaver”, Even Flow has done multiple tours across Europe and has supported bands such as Serious Black, Firewind, Eluveitie, Iron Savior, Katatonia, Orphaned Land, Katatonia, Pain Of Salvation among many more.

Due out on October 3rd, “Mediterraneo” is the next majestic level of achievement for Even Flow and is recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Stratovarius, Angra, and Queensryche.

Montreal’s ETERNAL CLOSURE Presents Lyric Video “Dimensions Apart”

New Album “At the Center of It All – Chapter I” Out Sept 2022 – Produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy)

L-R : Marine Lacarrière (guitar), Phil Lemelin (guitar), Olivier Boitel (guitar, back vocals), Katrine Castonguay (main vocals), Philippe Boitel (drums), Jonathan Lauzon (bass, back vocals)

Montreal’s Eternal Closure have a new album coming out in September and the third single they have ready for fans is “Dimensions Apart” in the form of a lyric video. Since their conception ten years ago, they have been constantly evolving – what started as a metalcore cover band has become a proggy, djenty powerhouse with deep gutturals, piercing cleans, and three guitarists that pummel the listener from all sides. The single is the first time the band utilizes 7-string guitars, lending to extra thickness and variety. Main songwriter and guitarist Olivier Boitel details the track:

“This one was mainly written by bassist Jonathan Lauzon, but had a bit of a different structure initially. It’s more-or-less the sequel to a song from our album “Screaming In Silence” called “Wake Up Dead”. It was also mixed with ideas he had for other songs that were never used. It’s a pretty straightforward banger, with me showcasing my grittier singing. I wrote and recorded the drums which was a lot of fun. Lyrically, it’s about the disconnect between generations that was created in part by technology.”

When it comes to Eternal Closure’s lyrics, Boitel speaks from the heart; they come from a personal place and are rarely about a fictionalized character. Compared to their other albums, there is less storytelling on “At The Centre Of It All – Chapter I”, it is all about how Boitel thinks and feels about different subjects. Presented in two parts, it’s not quite a concept album, but many lyrics and musical ideas are re-used throughout.

With the new addition of vocalist Katrine Castonguay, Eternal Closure is confident they will stand out, with a meaner sound that offers a satisfying listening experience for a wide range of metalheads not just those into core. They boast no filler, just six solid, headbanging tracks. They are recommended listening for fans of Currents, Trivium, and Periphery.

“Dimensions Apart” can be seen and heard via its premiere on NewFuryMedia HERE.

The full album “At The Centre Of It All – Chapter I” comes out on September 23, 2022.

0 Canadian Thrashers TRISKELYON Signs w/ Moribund Records For New Album “Downfall” Out Oct 2022

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 29, 2022

Canadian Thrashers TRISKELYON Signs w/ Moribund Records For New Album “Downfall” Out October 2022

Canadian melodic power thrashers Triskelyon announces the release of their debut album “Downfall” for October 28th, 2022 via Washington state-based extreme metal label Moribund Records.

Founded by Geoff Waye, guitarist for Artach and Category VI, Triskelyon was conceived in late 2021 as a studio-only project. By January 2022, the band featuring contributions from vocalists Pete Healey and Marlee Ryley (Hyperia), along with drum programming by Raul Marques (Burning Torment) made their introduction to the metal world with a 3-track self-titled EP.

Composed and written mostly by Geoff Waye, with drum programming provided by Raul Marques, “Downfall” sees the band’s next evolution as their first full length and it utilizes a myriad of both male and female guest vocalists from Oberon, Hyperia, Catagory VI and Incidium. “Downfall” has a range and depth of sound unique in today’s modern thrash metal scene, setting the band ahead and apart from the hordes of young new acts. Triskelyon also features guest bass appearances from members of Afterforever and Category VI, making Triskelyon a veritable super group of the Canadian metal scene.

Depicting a nature taking over post-apocalyptic view on our ever-screwed-up world, Triskelyon keeps with 80’s thrash tradition employing world-ending yet self-empowering socially conscious lyrical themes. From straight-up 80’s thrashers like “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)”, to the power metal laced “Find A Way”, and more anthemic thrash tracks such as “Hunger” and “Willful Ignorance”, “Downfall” is sure to satiate even the most discriminating old-school and modern thrash metal fan alike! The album even features a unique and thrashing rendition of the Billy Idol song “Nobody’s Business”.

Album was mixed/mastered by Michael Small with the post-apocalyptic cover art by IvaanMR11.

With “Downfall”, Triskelyon deliver an amazing headbanging album that harkens back to the old-school days of such luminaries as Forbidden, Agent Steel, Sentinel Beast, Détente, Overkill, and Testament.

“The three songs have the rage, heaviness and some rawness you expect from thrash, but also the melody and speed you’ll find in the more aggressive and harsher forms of power metal (no flowery stuff here, people). Pete’s vocals definitely are more of the aggressive heavy/power metal variety while Marlee shakes the hell out of the speakers with a more aggressive and harsher, yet high-pitched style.” – The Metal Crypt

“This is the kind of band that really plays that pure, raw, seething thrash metal that I love.” – Wings of Death

“Classic heavy thrash, catchy quick stuff with big screamy vox! Great stuff!” – WORT 89.9FM – Mosh Pit Radio – Madison, WI

“The EP thunders around the listener’s ears with a massive, powerful sound and gripping guitar riffs, but is also arranged with great attention to detail. Geoff Waye also acts as lead guitarist in the melodic as well as brute playing with pinpoint accuracy… Thrash fans who expect more than just head banging should remember the name TRISKELYON.” – PowerMetal.de

“What does Melodic Thrash sound like? Well in the eyes (and ears) of Geoff Waye it sounds like Thrash with influences of Traditional Metal, so you have plenty of heavy chugging Thrash riffs, separated by Traditional Metal bridges and big choruses. Opening cut “Hunger” sounds like a classic Anthrax cut from the “Spreading The Disease” era, with Iron Maiden influences all over it and Pete Healey’s higher pitched vocals only enhancing that nostalgic feel.” – Metal Noise
