Ottawa Death Metal Hybrid OMINOUS ECLIPSE Posts ‘End of Days’ Lyric Video

Forging death metal with elements of thrash, groove, black, and melodic tones, Ottawa, ON’s hybrid force OMINOUS ECLIPSE has posted a new lyric video for the title track from their latest album ‘End of Days’ released in 2015, which was an immediate follow up to their 2014 debut EP ‘Beyond The Apocalypse’. The band recently opened for Kalmah and Vesperia earlier this month and have just been announced once again as local support for Aegaeon and Depths of Hatred for their tour stop in Ottawa on May 28th.

Vocalist/ guitarist Graham Murphy comments on the lyric video:

“End Of Days,” the title speaks for itself. We took an “end of the world” concept and used a “balance of light and darkness” theme with a biblical topic. The idea is “Death,” symbolized as darkness, shadowing over the world to consume all life. Humanity turns to “God,” symbolized as light, in hope for salvation. God is the one who sent Death seeing us as being undeserving of the gift of life. Although the song may come off as trying to preach morals from a religious sense, we are really just portraying an apocalypse themed song where both light and darkness are our enemy.”

TEST YOUR METAL RECORDS:

Decibel Mag Video Premiere Sci-Fi Inspired RAPHEUMETS WELL ‘Crucible of Titans’

Unleashing their album ‘The Exile’ this past March via Test Your Metal Records, Hickory, NC based RAPHEUMETS WELL have a new music video to wow fans with a visual world of their sci-fi/ fantasy inspired metal and concept story album. The video ‘Crucible of Titans’ is just once piece of the story line as drummer Joshua Ward explains:

“In our song ‘Crucible of Titans’, Darmak is confronted by an Okvier named Sen, an inter-dimensional being who offers help to Darmak as Sotath’s plan was illusive even to the celestial counsel. Darmak is asked to spy on the traitor in hopes of revealing his agenda. Things go very wrong. Being ratted out by a family friend, Darmak is forced to look on as his family is executed. Darmak is sent to the realm between realms, away from the eyes of celestial order. The demonic servants of Sotath bind a rare artifact to his bones which will forbid him to die. They tear his skin from his bones only to have his organs regenerate and repeat. Having his flesh skin torn multiple times each day and left to ruminate on his families execution, he is cursed to walked the desert of the Nastar (lost realm) until his spirit literally fragments and he ceases to exist. This is the crucible of titans and why we chose to do this video. We actually shot and produced our own video due to budget constraints, but we worked extremely hard and we hope everyone enjoys the work and creativity of the story.”

About:
From the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of RAPHEUMETS WELL‘s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities. Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, the Hickory, N.C. based band bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists. Their sophomore release ‘The Exile’is out now as of March 18th via Test Your Metal Records to follow their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse.

Live the band’s concert theatrics is a show truly to entertain the crowd with an opus of metal while still satisfying their story lines in their music creating an intimate but relatable ambiance for fans, especially those who enjoy bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Faceless, Emperor, Black Crown Initiate.

May 14 – Toronto, ON @ Coalition T.O. (CD Release Show) – Event info

Toronto, ON heavy metal trio BLACK ABSINTHE are surfacing from the basement to unleash new tunes from their debut album ‘Early Signs of Denial’produced by Dave Baksh (Cross Dog, The Mahones) plus mixed and mastered by Frank Gryner (Rob Zombie- Hillbilly Deluxe). Set for release on May 13th, 2016, the album is the band’s first professional recording to follow their three self recorded EPs Live At Coalition (2014), Noise Complaint (2014) and Augusta (2012).

Both dates will also be supported by their Montreal brothers in arms, thrashers and Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2014 champions MUTANK.

BLACK ABSINTHE’s powerful heavy riffs and bass lines are reminiscent of classic thrash and new wave British heavy metal with a range of progressive to classic rock influence ready to be shared with fans new and old alike. The band recently teamed up with MetalNationRadio.com to premiere their first single ‘The Wild’.

“The Wild is the first song from a culmination of two years of work, our blasting out of the gate declaration of freedom. Don’t overthink it, ROCK OUT! It’s about taking your life into the heat of the fire, crashing and burning at the feet of desire.” comments vocalist / guitarist Jack Cerre.

To listen to ‘The Wild’, please visit the following link: http://metalnationradio.ca/song-premiere-black-absinthe/

The title “Early Signs of Denial” is a conceptual connection to the themes of fear, corruption, and overcoming disparity, which is explored in the album’s songs. The record has emphasis of crushing modern tone, polished instrumental sections, soaring vocals and a blending of contemporary and classic metal. With each track, this unique record represents different aspects of BLACK ABSINTHE’s diversity in song writing. The band does not tread lightly over their new wave of British heavy metal song style or their technical and progressive metal influences.

About:

Formed in 2011 by vocalist and guitarist Jack Cerre, bassist Kyle Scarlett and drummer Austin Henderson, the trio continue to rip through the underground Toronto metal scene without pause.

Compounding heavy riffs and bass lines reminiscent of classic thrash and new wave British heavy metal with a range of progressive to classic rock influence, Black Absinthe presents a solid example of a Canadian metal band. They’re road hungry, influenced plus supported by other driven Canadian musicians and most of all, ready to innovate and grow the traditions of a genre they venerate and respect. As leaders in the scene, Black Absinthe were headlining Toronto semi-finalists in the Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2015.

With a new year ahead, Black Absinthe pushes on with their desire to provide their fans in Canada and online with a cleaner and heavier presentation of their sound. The years incubating in Toronto’s metal underground have served the band well. From their 2012 debut EP Augusta to their 2014 EP Noise Complaint, both releases have established the band’s sound as well as their stage presence, leading to their driven heavy metal machine. Now in 2016, Black Absinthe are ready to release their debut studio album Early Signs Of Denial (May 13, 2016). The album was produced by Dave Baksh (Cross Dog, The Mahones) out of the Gentleman’s Den studio in Pickering, ON who’s experience proved to be the final touch; aiding in refining drum dynamics, smoothing the transitions and layering harmonic guitar lines. Black Absinthe’s Early Signs Of Denial sound is a leading example of the contemporary Canadian metal scene serving to showcase how the band sounds in a crisp, powerful, and ultimately more professional recording environment.

The title “Early Signs of Denial” is a conceptual connection to the themes of fear, corruption, and overcoming disparity, which is explored in the songs.

Through the bands expanding network cultivated through Coalition Music’s “Artist Entrepreneur Program”, they chose Frank Gryner (Rob Zombie- Hillbilly Deluxe) to mix and master the album in the Winter of 2015. His strong ability to work with a diversity of sounds was the appeal to the band. His mixing took the album into the sonic spheres of a classic 80’s sound providing, grandeur, psychedelia, and an arena rock feel that could properly represent the textures put down in tracking. There was an immediate trust formed with the stylistic choices Gryner made throughout mixing.

It’s been two years since Vancouver, BC’s WITHOUT MERCY last EP ‘Reborn’ savaged the lands of Canadian metal. After hitting the studio with a new vocalist Alex Friis and bass tracks recorded by Tristan Martin and live performance being done by Ryan Loewen, the band is ready to unleash its latest offering ‘Mouichido’, a re-release of re-recorded material from their 2014 EP ‘Reborn’. Newly added to EP is also a guest appearance by vocalist Mark Hunter of Chimaira on track ‘In Waves’. ‘Mouichido’ is set for release on May 27th, 2016 and is available for pre-order at the following link https://withoutmercy.bandcamp.com/album/mouichido.

“‘Mouichido’ is the Japanese word for “Repeat” or “to do one more time”.  We chose this as the title to signify the re-release of a previous version of this record. After the release ‘Reborn’, we faced an issue with our vocalist, which caused us to part ways with him.  On the advice of our legal team, we recorded the album again with our current vocalist in an effort to terminate possible legal action.” says  Band founder and guitarist DJ Temple. “In addition to that, I hold close ties with Japanese culture so I thought it would be the perfect time to introduce those lines into our music.  Facing the incredible difficulty with the last record and the way the vocalist departed the band, the stress was compounded by the financial burden left with a record we couldn’t release.  By venturing back to some of my martial art roots, I found the strength to maintain my tenacity and get the record back on track.  The result, is “Mouichido”. Fans should receive this as the ultimate reason to never give up. Take the aggressive nature of the songs and allow the culture of the Japanese writing to envelop you in a way that will carry you through each track. Let this EP be the story that inspires you to push through something difficult and come out the other side a stronger and more experienced person.”
The band’s first video ‘Worthless’ can be viewed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c1fuTnKlKA

1. Worthless (3:48)
2. In Waves (Ft. Mark Hunter of Chimaira) (4:06)
3. Burn (4:27)
4. Morphine (5:56)

About:

Tenacity, work ethic and originality. There’s no excuses anymore.

Vancouver-based Without Mercy certainly stays true to its name. Ruthless and menacing, these Canadian metal titans have cultivated and redefined the phrase, “Fuck Pussy Metal”.

Founded in 2004, Without Mercy has gone from strength to strength over the years. They released their first EP “All Else Fails” in 2007 completely independently and used its humble beginnings to start the catapulting of performances, internet presence and radio play. In 2009, Without Mercy went on to record their self-titled full length album using the same team that worked on records by Devin Townsend, Mudvayne, and Marilyn Manson.  Without Mercy rode the attention wave of their self-titled debut, using the escalation to begin a relentless performance schedule that would lead them far from their hometown and include over 200 live performances.  No stranger to tenacity, in only a few short years Without Mercy have achieved; being the only indie metal band in Western Canada to have two tracks available on Rock Band 3, being featured in Tattoo Savage Magazine, and pioneering the phrases, ‘You Smell Like A Bitch’ and ‘Fuck Pussy Metal’ – which have now become synonymous with the band.

In 2014, Without Mercy unleashed third studio release, “Reborn”.  Another massive evolution for the band, Without Mercy sought to bring back the organic metal sound and combine it with a high production standard.  Fast forward to 2016, some line up changes with a new vocalist and bassist, the band is ready to share with fans re-recorded material from ‘Reborn’ on their new EP ‘Mouichido’ that even features Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter on their track ‘In Waves’. The EP is set to be unleashed on May 27th, 2016 and will be supported with a steady rotation of touring and appearances across Canada and the USA. All of course, independently.

New Album ‘Wormz’ Out April 15th via Famined Records

Upcoming Show Dates:

April 8 – Montreal, QC @ La Vitrola – info

May 22 – Quebec City, QC – L’Anti Bar – info

Set to unleash their debut album ‘Wormz’ via Famined Records on April 15th, Montreal, QC’s DEATH LULLABY has teamed up with MetalInjection.netfor the video premiere of ‘Renegade’, which is one of eleven bone-crushing tracks from the release that features guest appearances from Fred Beaulieu (Beheading Of A King), Dan Mongrain (Voivod, Martyr) and Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) whom also produced, mixed and mastered the album at The Grid.

“”Renegade” represents Death Lullaby’s sound entirely, very aggressive, raw and punchy rhythms fused with melody and in some ways, technically challenging. A short and sweet track, but jam-packed with riffs that’ll make you count, and think to yourself: what the hell was that? A hint of sing-along chorus on this track, which if you are a fan of….is done more constructively throughout the full album with tracks like “They Dig/They Devour”, “Conquer All” & “Rainmaker”. For definite fans of Veil Of Maya, Born Of Osiris, All Shall Perish, Chimaira and Lamb Of God.” comments drummer Kevin Alexander.

About:

It is inevitable that many bands today focus and depend on technology or image but completely forget what it feels like to be in a violent, hard hitting, and charismatic and professional metal show. Mounted from A to Z for choreography, light show, and stage presence, the band is not only known for the music, but giving the people what they want; a notorious live show & a run for their money.

“Wormz”, is Death Lullaby’s newest entity which was recorded, mixed & mastered by Chris Donaldson in Montreal’s renowned metal studio: The Grid. Containing 11 bone-crushing tracks that feature guest appearances such as: Fred Beaulieu from Beheading Of A King, Dan Mongrain from Voivod & Martyr and Chris Donaldson fromCryptopsy, this album will be sure to raise a few eyebrows.

With only the release of their 1st EP “Fractal” in late 2012, the 5 members have shown off their music all around the east coast of Canada and have done the 2 biggest Metal Festivals in Canada in 2013 (Heavy MTL, & Amnesia Rockfest). Opening for acts such as Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya, After The Burial, Ion Dissonance, I the Breather,Structures, Within The Ruins, Northlane, Vildhjarta, Origin, Beneath The Massacre, Cryptopsy and Hate Eternal, the band is in no struggle to take on bigger and better things.

It is no doubt that the 5 members put in the hours to attain a level that allows them to play with such reputable metal artists, and have proved time and time again, that they never fail to deliver. Not only is DL’s focus unbreakable,  but the work ethic involved justifies every stepping stone of their career.
