Crusadist Announce East Coast Tour With Inhuman Condition Supporting New Album “The Unholy Grail”

Tourantula 2021 US East Coast Tour – Sept 4 – 19

Chicago’s Crusadist are amped to finally be going on tour in support of their first full-length “The Unholy Grail”, which was released back in November of 2019. Their tour spans the month of September and will take them across the East Coast of the USA where they will be supporting Inhuman Condition’s (featuring members of Obituary, Venom Inc., The Absence) TOURANTULA Tour beginning September 4, 2021 in Orlando FL (all dates listed below).

Tourantula 2021 US East Coast Tour Trailer – https://youtu.be/JQIRC62rcc8

Crusadist is a group of lifelong metal fans that make extreme music for a wide range of fans of the genre both far and wide. It has always been their dream to carry the torch of their predecessors in hopes to inspire others. Their new album “The Unholy Grail” is dark and fantastical, with clear thrash and blackened elements. A sonic cavalcade of riffs and double kicks, screams and melodic choruses; they explain their music in their own words:

“Our music captures the spirit of the warrior within ourselves. We want to ignite that energy within the listeners. Be relentless in your pursuit. Chase your dreams and let nothing or no one stand in your way. The idea of Crusadist is the duality of that warrior. The conflict of remaining noble, while being a savage killer in order to survive, and overcome the adversity that stands in your way. We want to tap into that emotion of strength and inspire that energy needed to persevere against the odds.”

Those who catch Crusadist on this tour can look forward to a raw and natural metal show full of energy and aggression. They like to add an element of drama and bring about the essence of the songs and the world they created throughout their conceptual music. They are cinematic in their approach, crafting an epic score to reinforce the emotional message behind the story.

Savagely epic and aggressively melodic, Crusadist is recommended for fans of The Black Dahlia Murder, Testament and At The Gates.

“The Unholy Grail” was released on November 29, 2019 and can be heard on Crusadist.bandcamp.com, Apple Music and Spotify.

About:
Crusadist is a Chicago-based metal band forged in the fires of death and thrash.

Formed in July of 2017, by founding members Shaun Albro, Aaron Nobles and Kevin Ariel. In February of 2018, Drummer Jason Rak joined the group. After countless auditions and failed attempts to find a second guitarist, they decided to record a 3 song demo to showcase the style and to find the missing piece. The recording took place at Iron Hand Audio in Chicago Illinois and was recorded by Dan Klein. Guitarist Luke Sever agreed to help with the recording and went on to write and record the solos on the demo. Once the demo was finished, it was obvious that the search was over. The lineup had been completed.

Crusadist is:
Shaun Albro ~ Vocalist/Lyricist
Aaron Nobles ~ Guitarist
Luke Sever ~ Guitarist
Kevin Ariel ~ Bass
Jason Rak ~ Drums

Now that everything was falling into place, the band started accepting show offers and began to book shows both locally and regionally. Performing in the surrounding states and opening for national and international acts such as Exmortus, Hatchet, Micawber, The Absence, Depths of Hatred, Kalmah, Vried, Homewrecker, Empyrean Throne, Nile, Terrorizer and Vital Remains. During this time the band continued to write material with plans to record a full-length album.

In March of 2019, Crusadist entered Belle City Sound in Racine Wisconsin to begin recording their debut album “The Unholy Grail” with producer/engineer Chris Djuricic (Origin, Jungle Rot, November’s Doom, Gorgasm, Against The Plagues). Mixing and Mastering duties were then handled by Jeramie Kling ( The Absence, Venom Inc.) and Taylor Nordberg ( The Absence, Soilwork) of Smoke and Mirrors Productions in Spring Hills Florida. The cover art was created by Swedish Artist Par Olofsson (Immolation, Exodus, Unleashed, Aborted, Braindrill, Against The Plagues).

“The Unholy Grail” was released on November 29, 2019 and is available on all major digital distributors, as well as in physical format in digipaks. The digipak layout was designed by Ryan Kasparian of Burial Clothing in Eerie Colorado.

After enduring countless cancelations due to government shutdowns during the scourge of the pandemic, Crusadist kept busy writing music for a follow-up to The Unholy Grail. 2020 was a year of many trials. Their East Coast Tour was canceled, along with several festivals the band was booked to perform at. Crusadist managed to book studio time and record a new single in which they plan to release in the Fall of 2021.

During the Spring of 2020, Crusadist signed a partnership agreement with Extreme Management Group and Senior Manager Greg Shaw. Crusadist will be on tour in September 2021 supporting Inhuman Condition (featuring members of Obituary, Venom Inc., The Absence) along the United States East Coast. TOURANTULA beginning September 4th in Orlando FL and ending Sept 19th in Tampa, FL.

Montreal, QC – August 16, 2021

Deformatory Unleash Brutal Drum Experience w/ Playthrough “Behold, The Apex of Decay”

Playthrough Premiere via TheCirclePit

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Ottawa’s Deformatory will be unleashing their latest concept album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” on September 3rd. Mixed and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck the Facts) from Apartment 2 Recording along with the artwork done by Paul Gerrard (a movie concept designer known for his imagery on Wrath of the Titans, Hellraiser: Origins and Hellboy), the full length is a continuation of the narrative from their previous album “Malediction” (2016) and depicts an interdimensional horde seeking to consume the essence of planetary life, which is broken up into three chapters.

Over the last few months, the band has shared four singles and videos (streaming below), and today they showcase their first drum playthrough for their crushing track “Behold, The Apex of Decay”, which can be viewed via TheCirclePit‘s YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/WvuH7CI5DZ0

Drummer Neil Grandy explains the playthrough in further detail:

“‘Behold, the Apex of Decay’ was an obvious choice for a drum play performance video due to being one of the first tracks we wrote for the album and being wicked fun to play.

It features a wide variety of different styles and techniques throughout the song. Aside from starting off with a smack to the face, the track features both traditional and gravity blasts, along with several tempos, great double kick runs, and a very progressive solo selection.

We wanted to have an equally stunning location to film this drum experience. Filled with incredible architecture and presence, the Dominion-Chalmers United Church in Ottawa, Ontario totally fit the bill. What a crazy vibe it was to hear these blasts reverberate throughout the church!

The video showcases a wide selection of shots to convey the different playing styles and techniques used on the track, while featuring the unique location to deliver devastating brutally in a house of worship.

For the video, the exact drum kit used to record Inversion of the Unseen Horizon at Apartment Two Studios and features:
Crush drums, Remo heads, Sabian Cymbals, Axis Percussion pedals, London Drumstick Co sticks, Roland Electronics.”

Together since 2010, the duo of drummer Neil Grandy and vocalist/guitarist Charlie Leduc easily create a maniacal strain of death metal. “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” is the third full-length album for Deformatory, following the 2011 EP “A Prelude Of…”; the 2013 full-length “In The Wake of Pestilence” and the 2016 full-length “Malediction”.

This massively complex and intriguing album is just the tip of the iceberg for the brutal Ottawa duo. Best suited for fans of extreme death metal and old-school black metal, Deformatory is recommended listening for those who enjoy Origin, Hate Eternal, and Cryptopsy.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

About:
Deformatory is a death metal band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Forming in 2010, they set out to create an extreme sound, fusing together classic influences (Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, etc.) and their love for modern tech death. The result is a uniquely relentless blend of death metal that can only hail from the Northern hemisphere.

Deformatory independently released their full-length debut, “In The Wake of Pestilence”, in December of 2013. This pummeling 9-track debut has been exceptionally well-received by fans worldwide, and has been cited as being an “outstanding and monstrous debut album. Essential.” (Frank Rini – AllAboutTheRock, ex: Internal Bleeding), and “flawless in every way” (TheBloodShed).

Having shared the stage with bands like Cryptopsy, Napalm Death, Obscura, Beyond Creation, Gorod, Archspire, and Fuck The Facts, Deformatory is more than comfortable delivering their crushing brand of extreme metal to live, screaming, and sweaty audiences.

The band’s sophomore release, “Malediction”, was released worldwide via CDN Records in 2016, with additional singles “Once Upon the Cross” (Deicide cover), and “Myiasis” both in 2018. Since then, DEFORMATORY has been developing their 3rd full-length album entitled “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, which they plan to unveil in the Fall of 2021 as an independent release.

Deformatory Continue Their Harrowing Tale of Interdimensional Decimation With “Summoning The Cosmic Devourer”

Music Video Premiere via InvisibleOranges

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Ottawa’s Deformatory delivers another slab from their concept album depicting an interdimensional horde seeking to consume the essence of planetary life. This narrative dives deeper into the scenery that was originally created in their previous album, “Malediction” (2016). “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” is broken up into three chapters and the band explains how their next single “Summoning The Cosmic Devourer” fits in:

“This chapter (II. Incursion: The Prototypal Eschaton) is written from the perspective of the Grand Arkitekt as he executes his compulsion for interdimensional domination. Witness his journey through Xuul ‘Ka, the cosmic portal he conjures to tunnel into dimensions, and the vision he has of the coming apocalypse for the Earth star. The single “Summoning The Cosmic Devourer” explores the dark art of creating Xuul ‘Ka. All life stars possess the ingredients required for the Conjuring and the path to Summoning.”

Together since 2010, the duo of drummer Neil Grandy and vocalist/guitarist Charlie Leduc easily create this maniacal strain of death metal while jamming together at their rehearsal space. Some songs were written in a single jam session with very few revisions taking place. The result is a raw and unfettered journey into carefully crafted death metal chaos.
The complexity of the lyrical concept together with the unrelenting brutality of the music makes for one hell of a sonic ride – one that you don’t want to miss out on.

Best suited for fans of extreme death metal and old-school black metal, Deformatory is recommended listening for those who enjoy Origin, Hate Eternal, and Cryptopsy.

The frantic music video for “Summoning The Cosmic Devourer” can be watched via its premiere on Invisible Oranges HERE.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

Deformatory Continues To Entrap Listeners With Single “Impaled Upon The Carrionspire” ft. Jon Levasseur (ex-Cryptopsy)

Music Video Premiere via MetalInjection

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Rising from the depths of the capital of Canada, Ottawa’s Deformatory has played countless shows across Ontario and Quebec as a headlining act to be reckoned with. Known for being tight and brutal, Deformatory now exists as a duo and they are releasing a new album this year, “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”.

With this album, and the previous (“Malediction”), Deformatory has been exploring an inter-dimensional civilization that has a unilateral mission to consume all light throughout the cosmos. Their latest single “Impaled Upon The Carrionspire” features Jon Levasseur (ex-Cryptopsy) and details the frenzy and mayhem as these cosmic devourers descend upon a life-star, as the band shares:

“The horde is unleashed, devouring all forms of life. The display is macabre, and the Cenaxors feed off the fear and energy of a slow, painful death. This describes the scene through the eyes of one who is hiding in the rubble, hoping not to be found…”

The chaotic barrage that Deformatory brings forth comes from a very organic writing process. There are no click tracks or Guitar Pro files here, just jamming and improvisation until something clicks.

The high contrast, striking video work is recommended for fans of Origin, Hate Eternal, and Cryptopsy.

The music video for “Impaled Upon The Carrionspire” (ft. Jon Levasseur (ex-Cryptopsy)) can be viewed via its premiere on MetalInjection HERE.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

Canada’s Deformatory Unveil Music Video For “Beyond The Abhorrence” Off “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”

Music Video Premiere via NoCleanSinging

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Ottawa’s brutal duo Deformatory has crafted a maniacal and unconventional approach to extreme metal that has garnered the devotion of fans worldwide ever since their debut EP “A Prelude Of…” in 2011.

This year, they are releasing their third album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, with a sci-fi concept that picks up where 2016’s “Malediction” left off. Over time, as members joined and left the band, their sound has been reworked and redefined. Deformatory explains further:

“Initially, there were so many different ideas and flavours trying to get crammed into Deformatory that it never felt locked in. It’s safe to say that the new songs, especially for this album, are the closest Deformatory have ever been to truly sounding like itself.”

When asked what fans can expect from Deformatory, they reply:

“No frills. No bullshit. Just straight-up death metal. The goal is to leave people wondering what the hell just happened. A maniacal frenzy.”

The lyrics for this album are partly inspired by “The Scarlet Gospels” by Clive Barker’s and guitarist and vocalist Charlie Leduc’s own interpretation and expansion of the Hellraiser mythos. This is the foundation block that helped to propel the entire concept, which was uniquely crafted and independently developed.  The single and final track on the record, “Beyond The Abhorrence” starts to draw a conclusion to the predicament of an evil race of inter-dimensional light devourers find themselves in.

A sonically relentless death metal experience, Deformatory is recommended for fans of Morbid Angel, Origin, and Hate Eternal.

The music video for “Beyond The Abhorrence”, which was created by Riivata Visuals (who did the recent “Disruptor” music video for Fear Factory) can be viewed via NoCleanSinging HERE.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

Ottawa’s Deformatory Announce Sonically Relentless Death Metal Experience With “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”

Single Premiere “In The Embervoid Where Dead Stars Reign” via Bravewords

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Deformatory has been a maelstrom of devastation since 2010, assaulting all in their wake with relentless sonic brutality. This year they are adding to their punishing catalogue with their third album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, which was mixed and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck the Facts) from Apartment 2 Recording along with the artwork done by Paul Gerrard, who is a movie concept designer known for his imagery on Wrath of the Titans, Hellraiser: Origins and Hellboy.

In anticipation of what is sure to be one of the heaviest tech death albums of the year, Deformatory are luring listeners in with the first single “In The Embervoid Where Dead Stars Reign”, which can be heard via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

This is the third full-length album for Deformatory, following the 2011 EP “A Prelude Of…”; the 2013 full-length “In The Wake of Pestilence” and the 2016 full-length “Malediction”. The nine-track album is divided into three chapters, of which “In The Embervoid Where Dead Stars Reign” is the third song in the second chapter.

Deformatory explains the album’s concept and how the single fits in:

“In our previous album “Malediction”, we explored the truth about Lucifer, who was an angel possessed by a far greater evil entity named Savael. We dove into his awakening and consequences for mankind. Our newest album reveals that Savael was but a mere droid in a complex hierarchy of vile entities, known as The Ce’naxors from a planet called Cyru’xil, whose Grand Arkitekt has an insatiable thirst for destroying life stars.

The single is about the aftermath of planetary consumption and its effect on the multiverse. How death and destruction breed new forms of life, including some unintended consequences for Cyru’xil.”

This massively complex and intriguing album is just the tip of the iceberg for the brutal Ottawa duo. Fans of Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, and Origin should take note.

Since then, DEFORMATORY has been developing their 3rd full-length album entitled “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” which they plan to unveil in the Fall of 2021 as an independent release.

Set to release their new EP “Pages” on May 28th, Ottawa’s Eclipser is unleashing out the cage, their next single and title track via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

The opener to the five-track record, “Pages” sets the tone of the whole EP both musically and lyrically. In just a little over 3 minutes, Eclipser managed to pack instrumental layers that weave in and out of each other to give the song a very dense and dynamic feel. Lyrically, the song takes a very nihilistic stance, and much like the music, it’s straight to the point.

The band adds about the track:

“Pages is the tale of a weary soul in search of faith. He seeks out God but finds only empty words and misery.”

Harsh and succinct, “Pages” primarily resides in the black metal realm, however, Eclipser also writes using techniques that are found in death metal, and even a bit of grindcore and maintain a formulaic style. The EP was produced by Eclipser; mixed by Mike Raymond of Reverence Audio, and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) at Apartment 2 Recording. The EP artwork was done by Misanthropic-Art. It is the fourth release from the band following Pathos (2019), Promo (2018), and the 2017 Demo.

Eclipser was founded in 2017 by Ryan Menard (guitars/vocals) and Christopher Joyal (drums), they are recommended for fans of Ulcerate, and Deathspell Omega.

The entire EP releases on May 28, 2021.

Canada’s Eclipser Unleash “To Never Wake Again” From New EP “Pages” Out May 28th

Track Premiere via TheCirclePit

Top L-R – Christian Beaupre – Guitar, Sebastien Choquette – Bass
Bottom L-R – Ryan Menard – Guitar, Vocals, Chris Joyal – Drums

Eclipser’s “Pages” is a dark and brooding sojourn through dissonant soundscapes that write with negativity and melody. The EP primarily resides in the black metal realm however, Eclipser also writes using techniques that are found in death metal, and even a bit of grindcore and maintain a formulaic style. According to guitarist/vocalist Ryan Menard, he personally strives to master what he does rather than trying to do it all.

Today, the band presents their first single from “Pages”. Entitled “To Never Wake Again”, the track is two and half minutes into the depths of uncertainty while enjoying both a pristine and bludgeoning experience of extreme metal.

“To Never Wake Again depicts the life-denying voice of reason that manifests internally when one’s existence is reduced to meaningless suffering. A depressive mentality that justifies taking the ultimate easy way out, offering the afflicted the suggestion of a painless solution. This song is the lowest point of the record, with punishing riffs and an overall negative atmosphere that builds towards a soulful and cathartic guitar solo. In short, we’re bringing the bad vibes.” adds Menard.

“To Never Wake Again” can be heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit YouTube channel HERE.

“Pages” is harsh and succinct, the five tracks make up for a total runtime of under 15 minutes, it was produced by Eclipser; mixed by Mike Raymond of Reverence Audio, and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) at Apartment 2 Recording. The EP artwork was done by Misanthropic-Art. It is the fourth release from the band following Pathos (2019), Promo (2018), and the 2017 Demo.

The one-man act of Toronto’s Malice Divine brings to you the third and final single “Triumphant Return” from the upcoming debut self-titled album.

“Triumphant Return” is the least dark song on the self-titled and also the most uplifting song on the album overall. It still retains the aggressiveness that is present throughout the other eight songs on the offering.

Ric Galvez explains the track in his own words:

“The last of the three singles to be released before the full album, Triumphant Return is by far the most uplifting song on the album. As the song title implies, I was aiming to create a very triumphant feeling from the music with this song. The lyrics of the song further amplify the feeling of triumph that is inherent to this song, dealing with the theme of overcoming all obstacles that you face in life and bouncing back stronger than ever.”

The lyrics explored on the self-titled album are actually quite personal and deal with Ric Galvez’s thoughts and feelings regarding his life experiences. They are an outlet for self-expression, while also exploring topics such as spirituality and psychology with an underlying theme of personal empowerment.

The self-titled debut album was recorded at Monolithic Productions in Oshawa, Ontario by Tyler Williams beginning in January 2020. After the recording process had concluded, the album was re-amped and mixed by Tyler Williams and then Mastered by Lasse Lammert of LSD-Studio in Germany. This album is an excellent example of time during the Covid-19 pandemic being put to good use.

Melodic and captivating with a good blend of heavy styles, Malice Divine is recommended for fans of Death, Dissection, and Immortal.

“Triumphant Return” can be heard via its vocal/guitar playthrough premiere on GearGods HERE.

The full album “Malice Divine” drops on February 19, 2021.

About:

Toronto, Canada’s Malice Divine is a solo project contrived by Ric Galvez who had always had the dream of entire creative control. He wanted to expand beyond being known as just as a lead guitarist. Ric Galvez has played in local bands previously and was a contestant on Banger TV’s Shredders of Metal Seasons 1 & 2.

Ric Galvez has a major in music from York University and through Malice Divine he shows off his prowess across instruments. His lyrics are inspired by psychology, and spirituality, as well as personal experiences especially those involving the overcoming of obstacles and hardships using the resulting verses as a form of empowerment.

The first offering from Malice Divine, a self-titled full length, comes in 2021 with Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Iomair) playing session drums. There are plans to flesh out a live lineup for Divine Malice when the time is right.

What people can expect from seeing Malice Divine live is highly aggressive black and death metal inspired music with shreddy and virtuosic guitar solos adding a melodic layer that isn’t common in the genre.

Malice Divine’s self-titled debut album is due out February 19, 2021.

July Will Feel Cold WINTER NIGHTS With The Release Of New Self-Titled Album

Premiere First Single “When December Burns” via GhostCultMag

Efrain Farfan – Back up Vocals and Guitar, Jeremy Farfan – Vocals and Guitar

New York’s Winter Nights have a new album slated for release July 31st, and the mainstays of the local scene are amped to be showing fans the result of years of hard work.

The self-titled album comes after the 2014 release “An Endless Apocalypse” and brings with it, more dreary lyrics and melodic metal music. The album was recorded between 2015 and 2018 at Atomic Sound in Brooklyn, New York. When asked how they expect fans to respond to the new work, they respond:

“Well, very well. We’ve once again offered something different than our previous work. We are looking to conjure the feeling of dread, and remembrance. We hope they can relate to it in one way or another.”

The first single from the album is “When December Burns”, which according to the band is about the idea of being taken over by an emotion, an entity if you will, disconnecting from society.

Vocalist / guitarist Jeremy Farfan elaborates:

“When this song was written it was meant to be a super-fast almost thrash death type of vibe. one rehearsal, lead guitarist Efrain busted out with a tapping lick that resonated through our studio. it was then we knew this song had to have a certain harmonic feeling. taking the tempo down and accenting on the tapping lick, we built something new to us and what feels like the next step of the band. The idea behind this song is self-immolation (death by setting oneself on fire). Through the album, we explore various ways of offing yourself so to speak. It stems from a dream Lead singer Jeremy had where he climbed to the top of a tall hill, turned back to see the world burning, and decided to go out in flames as well. As usual, though, he wakes up right before he loses consciousness. He remembers to this day the burning feeling creating bliss”

The primary themes in the album relate to the feeling of being stuck on the idea of death. The lyrics are a sort of metaphor of losing someone and / or taking your own life for one purpose or another.

For fans of Kalmah, Death, and Amon Amarth, the single is premiering via GhostCultMag HERE.

The self-titled album debuts on July 31, 2020 and is available for pre-order here.

About:
Winter Nights is a four-piece melodic death metal band emanating from Brooklyn, New York in the winter of 2007. The sound and lyrical themes of their music portray loss, pain, grievance, and darkness.

Guitar driven melodies evoke visceral reactions to the mythic end of the world. They are an integral part of the thriving New York metal scene. As of 2020, their formation consists of dueling guitar brothers Jeremy and Efrain Farfan who also cover vocals, bassist Martin Tune and drummer James Yarusinsky.

The two Farfan brothers came up with the idea for the band after a New Years’ toast and after recruiting a friend they started writing music together and the rest is history. Trading endless amounts of riffs the Farfan brothers devise the majority of the music before presenting it to the rest of the band to be beefed out in the rehearsal studio.

Mainly inspired by nature, places of travel. different scenery. Jeremy gets his ideas from places he’s traveled such as the cliffs of northern Ireland, catacombs of Montreal, nighttime canals of Venice, and the eerie silence of Central Park at night.

Playing with similar bands such as Kalmah, Belphegor, and Insomnium, and on festivals including Maryland Folkfest and Poconos Folkfest, Winter Nights is a mainstay in the New York metal underground. With personal influences rooted primarily in metal, the members of Winter Nights make provocative, despairing, genuine songs. In 2008 they released a self-titled demo EP, followed by another EP “From Darkness Till Dawn” in 2011, and a full length “An Endless Apocalypse” in 2014. 2020 brings a new self-titled album due out July 31st.

– 30 –

“‘Encounters of the Frozen North’ has a lot of thundering, jolting power along with some killer riffs and a dark, somewhat Eastern-influenced melody that worms its way into your head. The music is capped by jagged, tyrannical vocals that make a powerful impact and by a serpentine solo that underscores the reptilian menace lurking within the song.” – No Clean Singing

“The floor of the venue was already seething with eager humanity as local opening act Winter Nights took the stage to kick things off. Sometimes the warm-up acts accomplish little more than to give fans a chance to hit the merch stands or catch up with friends, but the creative vision of Jeremy and Efrain Farfan demanded attention with their tight, more brutal take on Melodic Death Metal. Harsh vocals combined with technical playing and some ultra-melodic guitar leads kept fans engaged and cheering after each song. Winter Nights has been around since 2007, having recently released full-length album An Endless Apocalypse in July of last year. Something like Grave and Amon Amarth meets mid ’90’s Carcass with some mosh-inducing breakdowns defines their sound, with the highlight of the set being the killer “Doomsday Code” and “Deceptive Dreams.”” – Cryptic Rock (Live Review 2015 opening for Dark Tranquility)

“With a distinct Scandinavian flair, but coupled with a bit of the ole US brutality, theirs is a nice melding of catchy older melodic death metal here (read: no watered down pop choruses or the like). “The Doomsday Code” is the cut of choice, with it’s all out thrashy approach that is sure to get the adrenaline pumping and features a solid solo towards the end and even touches upon some black metal influences as well. There’s plenty here that should appeal to fans of anything from Amon Amarth, Arsis, or Dark Tranquillity” – Dead Rhetoric (Album Review 2014 – An Endless Apocalypse)

“a strong debut. The album highlights the bands strong points and shows they can be both intense, brutal and then melodic at just the right moments. It will be interesting to see how they evolve in the coming year. Be sure to listen to their previous demo releases and support them at a venue near you.” – Artemortifica (Album Review 2014 – An Endless Apocalypse)

“The diversified riffs are once more the proof for the skills of WINTER NIGHTS. Very professional and dedicated recording. I can only recommend “An Endless Apocalypse“ to each Metalhead!” – Battlepig (Album Review 2014 – An Endless Apocalypse)

“This band may hail from the streets of NYC, but after listening to this album I’m convinced Winter Nights sailed here from Scandinavia in a giant ship to claim New York as their raiding territory!” – Up From The Underground Reviews (Album Review 2014 – An Endless Apocalypse)
