Comprised of several musicians with a long history in Calgary’s metal scene (Culled, After Earth, Meddigo, False Flag, WAKE, Disciples of Power, Exit Strategy, and Razorwing), THIRD CHAMBER is cooking up a new, yet familiar death metal sound that will nourish even the pickiest of metal enthusiasts.

Set to unleash their debut EP “Harvesting Our Decay” on November 22nd, 2019, the band is ready to offer their next single ‘Terror Formed’ via its exclusive premiere on Bravewords HERE.

With death being the main ingredient in their metal melting pot, hints of grindcore and hardcore also stand out amidst flavours of politically charged lyrics. THIRD CHAMBER is not music for the soft, besides being musically ferocious, the lyrical content is a brutal reflection of the current state of the world. From negative motivations of religious organizations, the effects of social media on mental distress, the ever-growing pride of ignorance, the exploitation of our natural resources for the profit of the wealthy and the manipulation and lack of actual truth in most media consumed by the ever-growing bewildered herd.

The band explains ‘Terror Formed’:

“This track is about media consumed by a majority of society that is fear-mongering bull shit riddled with stories design to strike fear and spread hate. A media that benefits on chaos will not hesitate to help create what it needs to survive and keep people plugged in.”

THIRD CHAMBER will be hitting the road for four dates across the province of Alberta in November and December.

Calgary’s THIRD CHAMBER Premiere First Single Off Politically Charged EP “Harvesting Our Decay” And Show Dates

Third Chamber has been lurking around the Calgary metal scene for years, biding their time and working tirelessly to bring to you their debut EP “Harvesting Our Decay” on November 22, 2019.

The greasy and chugging death metal is a myriad of genre flavours taking into account the styles and influences of the five musicians who have been gracing stages for decades in their other projects and bands. Now they have come together to produce a mechanical blackened sound with lyrical content that is not for the faint of heart. The band explains:

“Lyrically the songs are based on the current politicized state of the world. Environmentally, economically and socially everything is used by the beating drums of those in power to maintain control and their position. Musically we are aiming to help you cope with said issues by providing an aggressive yet melodic 25 minutes of blackened death metal sure to make you drive faster and work out harder and maybe even help people realize that a 1st world problem is the least of their problems.”

The five-song EP is introduced with the title track as a single which takes a look at how humanity is destroying the environment with constant wars, exploitation of natural resources and endless pollution. As the band quips:

“We’re f*cked and won’t survive the earth once the healing truly begins.”

With influences primarily being old school death metal, Third Chamber adds a spatter of modern death metal aesthetics to the tune of Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, At the Gates, Misery Index and a touch of Napalm Death.

Comprised of several musicians with a long history in Calgary’s metal scene (Culled, After Earth, Meddigo, False Flag, WAKE, Disciples of Power, Exit Strategy, and Razorwing), THIRD CHAMBER is cooking up a new, yet familiar death metal sound that will nourish even the pickiest of metal enthusiasts.

In the cold brisk autumn of 2014, five musicians came together haphazardly from the ashes of previous projects with a small batch of material on the table. A year later, Dustin Hahn (drums), Jamie McIsaac (guitar), Jay (guitar), and Russ Gauthier (bass) had enough polished material to fill a full set but were lacking a vocalist. It wasn’t until 2017 when the perfect match was found in Shane Hawco and the lineup was finally deemed complete.

With death being the main ingredient in their metal melting pot, hints of grindcore and hardcore also stand out amidst flavours of politically charged lyrics. It starts with Jay and McIssac hammering out riffs which get stirred together and sent to Hahn who adds a heavy dose of blast beats. Gauthier and Hawco add the final garnishes and the chugging death metal feast is ready to be served violently.

Painting their canvas of extreme music with inspirations of real-life stories of murder, conspiracy, supernatural horror, and terror, Edmonton’s Tales of The Tomb will unleash their new EP “Volume Two: Mendicium” on September 27th. The EP is a collection of narratives surrounding government cover-ups, national lies and the heinous crimes committed amongst the shadows. Before the EP officially drops, the duo has teamed up with Decibel Magazine for its exclusive full stream HERE.

A sonic attack layered with grinding blast beats, injected with menacing guttural lows “Volume Two: Mendicium” is a sound straight from hell with gore-filled lyrics leaving little to the imagination, destroying your eardrums like a corpse is erased in an acid-filled bath. Mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitar player and Head Engineer/Owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson. The EP also contains a bonus track about the Japanese horror film Mermaid in a Manhole. Featuring artwork by Tony Midi of Tonymidi Artworks.  Pre-order the album HERE.

Unified by the desire to have the grotesque power of 90’s era death and murder metal, Tales of The Tomb started as a thought that grew into an insatiable need to make extreme music.  Tales Of The Tomb was created in October 2013 from founder Corey Skerlak (guitar, vocals) out of inspiration from the original murder metal band Macabre.

Much of their inspiration is drawn from the hideous crimes and conspiracies of the world. Retelling stories of the dark hidden secrets and victims from such crimes. This was the inspiration for the name Tales of The Tomb.

Every town has stories to caution or warn, every police officer has a seen a crime that keeps them awake at night, and every coroner has seen death in ways that the rest of us could never imagine. Murder, conspiracy, supernatural horror, and real-life terror are stains on the cutting room floor where Edmonton-based group Tales of The Tomb paints their canvas.

Tales of The Tomb will release their new EP “Volume Two: Mendicium” September 27th. “Volume Two: Mendicium” is a collection of narratives surrounding government cover-ups, national lies and the heinous crimes committed amongst the shadows.  The album was mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitar player and Head Engineer/Owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson. Every town has stories to caution or warn, every police officer has a seen a crime that keeps them awake at night, and every coroner has seen death in ways that the rest of us could never imagine. Murder, conspiracy, supernatural horror, and real-life terror are stains on the cutting room floor where Edmonton-based group Tales of The Tomb paints their canvas.

Tales of The Tomb will release their new EP “Volume Two: Mendacium” September 27th. “Volume Two: Mendacium” is a collection of narratives surrounding government cover-ups, national lies and the heinous crimes committed amongst the shadows.  The album was mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitar player and Head Engineer/Owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson. The EP also contains a bonus track about the Japanese horror film Mermaid in a Manhole. Featuring artwork by Tony Midi of Tonymidi Artworks

Previously unleashing their first single “Nine Eleven”, the band has unshackled the follow-up track “Sinful Messiah”, a dark tale of the infamous cult leader David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. The band explains further:

“Our song ‘Sinful Messiah’ focuses on the cult leader from the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas — David Koresh. The Branch attracted the attention of the ATF when the US postal service flagged a suspicious parcel containing live hand grenades being shipped to their compound. The name ‘Sinful Messiah’ is ripped from the headline of a newspaper article giving him title; because David believed he was the second coming of Christ. This song was written to sonically recreate the events that took place portraying the level of chaos and confusion created by raids and the siege on the compound. This event has been regarded by some as a publicity stunt in the wake of cult hysteria to paint the ATF in a positive light — leading to a “who shot first?” conspiracy.”

Unified by the desire to have the grotesque power of 90’s era death and murder metal, Tales of The Tomb started as a thought that grew into an insatiable need to make extreme music. Tales Of The Tomb was created in October 2013 from founder Corey Skerlak (Guitar, Vocals) out of inspiration from the original murder metal band Macabre.

Much of their inspiration is drawn from the hideous crimes and conspiracies of the world. Retelling stories of the dark hidden secrets and victims from such crimes. This was the inspiration for the name Tales of The Tomb.

A sonic attack layered with grinding blast beats, injected with menacing guttural lows — a sound straight from hell with gore-filled lyrics leaving little to the imagination, destroying your eardrums like a corpse is erased in an acid-filled bath.

Canada’s EXES FOR EYES, the musical vision of Dave Sheldon (ex. Man With Target, Annihilator) and the lyrical conception of vocalist and frontman Big James (Stab.Twist.Pull, Endast, Authors) have left their hiatus to bring you a new album “Of Strength and Sorrow” to follow their 2014 album “Tongues Like Figure Eights”.

Back in 2014, the band challenged their fans and the metal community with #ThePlatinumProject to help a fully independent band reach platinum status by selling one million digital copies at only $1. Did the band reach their goal…? Not quite, but they did sell over 16,000 digital copies and encourage an online trend that followed. The promotion was a great experience and brought EXES FOR EYES tons of exposure and attention from the music industry. Fast-forwarding to 2019, with their next album “Of Strength and Sorrow” out as of Tuesday, August 13th, the band is entering the moshpit with a new challenge dubbed #TheAluminumProject. It’s the same concept, selling their new album exclusively for only $1 except with some more twists, which the band goes into further detail in the following video they have put together explaining the concept.

EXES FOR EYES latest album “Of Strength and Sorrow” has been four years in the making since their previous album. Having shown that they have matured sonically, the new album is darker without abandoning the soundscapes their fans have grown to love with their massive groove. Taking inspiration from composers such as John Williams, Danny Elfman, John Carpenter and Hans Zimmer there are new instrumental layers that add a definitive depth to the album. EXES FOR EYES comments on the writing process behind the massive 65-minute album:

“The writing process took so much out of us this album, so the idea of not releasing a song because ‘it doesn’t sound like the other ones’ didn’t even cross our minds. I feel like we knew we were going to release it ourselves on our terms again, so the idea of a 65-minute album didn’t seem outrageous.  You’ll have your favourites the same way we have ours, but these are the songs and we want you to hear all of them. We meant every note and every word.”

The concept of blindness, be it willing, involuntary, inherent or otherwise is so foreign and far removed from anything within the realm of experience for these men. However as the process has begun to create this music, it has become apparent how limited one’s own vision can be when staring at the broad side of limitless potential and ambition.

With the musical vision of Dave Sheldon (ex-Man With Target, Annihilator) and the lyrical conception of vocalist and frontman Big James (Endast, Authors) the project is very quickly taking shape into something more than either anticipated. Having maintained a general theme of blindness, both figuratively and literally, the new album departs from those themes.

‘Hold On’ is the first single off this album and is an excellent introduction to the release that can simply be defined as “heavy as fuck”.

Having taken the last four years since their previous album, EXES FOR EYES have shown that they have matured sonically, completing an album that is darker without abandoning the soundscapes their fans have grown to love with their massive groove.
