Calgary, AB metalcore six piece, SHARK INFESTED DAUGHTERS announce they will be performing dates in British Columbia and Alberta as part of their tour in support of their forthcoming album ‘These Tides, Our Tombs’ due out on November 11th. The tour will kick off in Vancouver, BC on November 3rd and end in Grande Prairie, AB on November 13th with select dates supported by Nanaimo, BC’s The Body Politic and Edmonton, AB’s Corvus The Crow (dates listed below).

‘These Tides, Our Tombs’ features 10 assaulting tracks plus a bonus acoustic version of their first single ‘Tidebringer’. Initially the band wrote 15 songs for release, but chose to use only the best of the bunch. After an entire year of demos and writing, they worked with producer Rob Kukla (Arbitrator) to establish the album tracks and had mixing plus mastering done by Sacha Laskow (Every Hour Kills).

The band comments on the release:

“These Tides, Our Tombs” is a project that has been in the works for the last two years. Our entire goal was to create an album that challenged all of us musically plus would break down the genre walls placed upon us by our previous releases. On a lyrical standpoint, the album is an emotional roller coaster touching on subjects such as loss, suicide and depression. “These Tides” symbolizes the negativity that surrounds us; “Our Tombs” symbolizes how we choose to deal with them. It’s either sink or swim. We hope the fans will feel the same raw emotion we put into writing this record.”

Revolving mostly around themes of love and loss, ‘The Tides, Our Tombs’ is an album that has the originality to break down genre walls and create a truly diverse and dedicated fan base. A sound that has the consistency that veteran fans know and love, but still manages to remain dynamic enough to attract a plethora of new listeners. It’s rare to find such a definitive offering from an unsigned band. It’s crushingly heavy, yet beautifully melodic.

SHARK INFESTED DAUGHTERS‘ first music video and second single ‘Glass Kingdom’ can be viewed at the following link.

KREPITUS Offer Free Download of Debut Album Title Track ‘The Eyes of The Soulless’

L-R: Curtis Beardy- Bass, Teran Wyer- Guitars/Vocals, Harley “Rage” D’orazio- Drums, Matt Van Wezel – Guitars

Bone-crushing Calgary four-piece KREPITUS are challenging the relationship between death and thrash metal with their trademark downtrodden technical riffs and fierce aggressive vocals. They have been constantly playing with opposing elements and creating a stable compound of death-fused thrash since their beginnings in 2013.

Set to unleash their debut album ‘The Eyes of The Soulless’ on November 25th, 2016, the band is offering a FREE download of their release’s title track at the following link: https://krepitus.bandcamp.com/track/eyes-of-the-soulless

plus streaming on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyoiNB6LJlY

KREPITUS is comprised of Teran Wyer performing double duty on guitar and vocals; a tortured soul bound to his music. Matt Van Wezel is the second sniper, hitting each guitar note with precision and complementing the already harmonious riffs. Curtis Beardy pulls the tone down to the depths of hell with his steady hand and low register bass riffs. Finally, Harley “Rage” D’orazio kicks everything into overdrive possessed by grinding rhythms and accenting every solo on his drum kit.

Each member stands like a pillar; strong and sure in their own sound, but all standing to support the structure that is KREPITUS. They have since performed with acts like Expain, Depths of Hatred, and Aegaeon and have competed in the Wacken Metal Battle Canada.

1. The Decree of Theodoseus (6:46)
2. Apex Predator (3:28)
3. Exile (7:48)

Recently unleashing their new album ‘Ages Unsung’ on September 16th, Ottawa, ON’s CHARIOTS OF THE GODS have teamed up with Bravewords.com for the exclusive video premiere of ‘Tusk’, one of ten shredding assaulting tracks on the release recorded at The Grid with legendary Montreal producer Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation, Neuraxis) plus features a special guest solo from The Agonist’s Pascal Jobin on the song ‘Into Oblivion’.

The band had this to say about the video:

“It’s been more than 3 years since our first official music video for the song ‘Tides of War’ was released. A lot has changed since then, sand it’s time to reveal our first music video ‘Tusk’ in support of our new record. It was great to have Renaud Jobin, our former vocalist, directing the project and working together again. He has a clear understanding of what the band is about and what we wanted to achieve. We’re really happy with the outcome and can’t wait to do more videos for ‘Ages Unsung'”.

To watch ‘Tusk’, please visit the following link: http://bravewords.com/news/exclusive-chariots-of-the-gods-premier-tusk-music-video

‘Ages Unsung’ marks the return of Canada’s first metal band to tour Cuba after a small hiatus and line up change to follow up their 2013 debut album ‘Tides of War’ that was produced by music legend Glen Robinson (Queensryche, Gwar, Annihilator).

The band comments on ‘Ages Unsung’:

“We are very proud to bring you all this new record. It took us longer than expected to get there, but we’re sure that after just one listen you’ll think it was worth the wait. There were a lot of changes since our last release in early 2013. 3 out of 5 were new members and it definitely had an impact on our music especially with the change of the vocalist. We sometimes went into some unknown territories with this new record, but our producer Chris Donaldson along with the help of Pascal Jobin really guided us through this experimental chapter. It has been a challenging effort, but we’ve worked hard to climb the mountain that stood before us. Now we know what we’re capable of. We can see many more peaks in the distance and as one we will strive forward.”

For this album, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS turned to fans on kickstarter with a pre-order campaign (thank you video) and surpassed their goal of $3,000.

The album stream can be heard at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP4K-E8nRlI&list=PLGO0yrExinishG_mSMqTCAVnwVaFFavPg

ALMAH Steaming Full Album ‘E.V.O’; Out Now! via Test Your Metal Records

Lyric Video – Age of Aquarius – Watch here.
Lyric Video – Please To Meet You – Watch here.

Brazilian metallers ALMAH led by ex-Angra singer Edu Falaschi are now streaming their latest album ‘E.V.O’ in full at the following link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giCJL_DmUCE

‘E.V.O’ was release on September 23rd in North America (US/MX/CA) viaTest Your Metal Records and available at the following link:http://www.testyourmetalrecords.bigcartel.com/product/almah-e-v-o-pre-order. ‘E.V.O’ is also available through Pride & Joy Music (EU) and King Records (Japan).

‘E.V.O’ is the 5th studio album from ALMAH and was recorded in São Paulo, Brazil at IMF studios by Tito Falaschi plus mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud (Fear Factory, Dragonforce, Baby Metal, etc) at Mix Unlimited in Los Angeles, California. The release is a concept album based on the evolution of people’s mind and soul during the so-called AGE OF AQUARIUS – the new era that the world is about to live. The author of the concept, Edu Falaschi, touches different subjects connected to the main idea, creating very positive lyrics for the album’s atmosphere.

Musically ‘E.V.O’ brings a fresh and powerful sound with the typical modern and heavy ALMAH touch, but this time one will be able to realize that it also has a direct connection with the Angra’s “Rebirth” (the first Angra album with Edu Falaschi’s voice). The compositions are a pleasant travel between contemporary rock, modern power and prog metal. The vocal lines on ‘E.V.O’ are very powerful, classic and the vocals have a higher pitch compared to previous ALMAH’s records. It’s very melodic, clean and into the bel canto style.

1 – Age of Aquarius (7:13)
2 – Speranza (4:55)
3 – The Brotherhood (4:41)
4 – Innocence (4:35)
5 – Higher (5:09)

10 – Corporate War (4:19)
11 – Capital Punishment (4:00)

Lyric Video – Zeta Reticulan – Watch here.

With their CD release getting near on October 7th plus their local Calgary album launch show on October 1st at Distortion, thrashers ILLYRIAN have posted an album preview for ‘Round 2: Fight!’ for fans at the following link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSCc58hCHfI

The album was co-produced by the band with Casey Lewis at Echo Base Studios plus mastered by Sacha Laskow (Every Hour Kills, ex-Divinity) at Perfect Fifth Studios and is available for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp.

Formed in 2011 under the name Hellborn Death Engines, the band is resurfacing under the new moniker ILLYRIAN with the recent additions of bassist / vocalist Jeff Perry (Sikarra, ex-Animus Labyrinth) plus British drum sensation Darren May (ex-Deacon Birch) who have brought new and progressive musical mindsets into the band to join original and founding members Scott Onofrychuk (guitars/vocals) and Brandon McNeil (guitar/vocals).

Evolving into a highly technical group playing thrash metal with their erratic and precise on-stage delivery, rapier wit, along with nostalgic charm, ILLYRIAN have removed the constraints of conventional metal sub-genre formula to replace their sound with a melting pot of technical thrash riffs, blistering solos, prog-influenced rhythms along with the band’s signature tri-vocal attack.

While in Los Angeles, Ciferalli was part of multiple projects that included touring with Scars on Broadway, which featured Daron Malakian and John Dolmayan of System of a Down, a collaboration with Lukas Rossi on the single “Headspin” that is featured on the album “Rockstar Supernova” starring Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke and Jason Newsted, recording guitars and bass for Billy Ray Cyrus’ 2012 release “Change My Mind” plus performing on French platinum artist Zaho’s debut and sophomore albums, and recording two guitar solos on a Rush tribute album released by Magna Carta, which featured Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Mike Mangini (Dream Theater) and Stu Hamm (Steve Vai). Other highlights in Cifarelli’s career include a featured guest guitar appearance with Cypress Hill and Travis Barker at the annual Smoke Out Festival in San Bernardino, CA that also featured Incubus, Living Colour and Manu Chao plus guest performances in 2013 with Chevelle in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Taproot at the Whiskey in Los Angeles.

For those in the Montreal area, THE CHRONICLES OF ISRAFEL will be hosting a CD Release show at Petit Cafe Campus on October 15th. Full details here.

About:
THE CHRONICLES OF ISRAFEL
is the solo project of guitarist/vocalist Dominic Cifarelli (former guitar player for Pulse Ultra (Atlantic Records)). It was born during a very uncertain and difficult period leading up to the breakup of Pulse Ultra in 2004. Many late night solo jam sessions combined with the constant viewing of violent Japanese Anime movies helped form the sound of the sometimes brutal and very dark first concept album “Starborn, Tome I”. The album was written to focus on the main character Israfel in his search for a new home and self-discovery. ‘Starborn’ was released in June 2007 through Bridge of Hands Entertainment, an independent arts label dedicated to the development and the distribution of original art.

Now fast forward to 2016, nine years after ‘Starborn’ is released. TCOI is reborn beginning in 2014 with new material being written and released as singles / music videos during 2015 and early 2016, which is then followed with a handful of warm up shows in preparation for the official release of Cifarelli’s follow up and sophomore album ‘A Trillion Lights, Tome II’ due out October 15, 2016.

Fredericton, New Brunswick five piece progressive metal band TACTUS will be unleashing debut full length ‘Bending Light’ on October 7th. The album features ten outer limit prog tracks produced by the band with mixing and mastering by Jamie King (Between The Buried In Me, Paradise Lost, Scale The Summit) to follow their previously released EPs ‘ins(T)rumental’ (2015) and ‘T’ (2014) plus singles ‘Enigma’ and their metal cover of The Police’s ‘Roxanne’.

The band has teamed up with DjentWorldwideTV for the premiere of their third single ‘Aurora’.

Check it out! at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kSdHSdFuZw

The band comments on the track:

“Aurora is the first full song on Bending Light. We wanted to kick the album off with something fast and heavy to get the momentum going, and we started writing Aurora with that purpose in mind. We loved the first few riffs so much though that we just kept writing more and more, and it evolved into one of the longer and more progressive songs on the album.”

The album is available for pre-order at the following links.

Formed in 2011 as a jam project by three fellow music students, the group has gone on to release several singles and EPs independently, while having the opportunity to share the stage with great metal acts like Protest the Hero, Intervals, Black Crown Initiate, and Mandroid Echostar. The group pride themselves on their infusion of multiple musical styles into hard-hitting riffs, epic choruses, and technically intense passages. Soaring melodies, guttural growls, and destructive breakdowns flow into soft, slow, and pensive segments of jazz and rock. Their compositional method, where songs are conceived, written, transcribed, and edited before they are ever learned or rehearsed, adds a level of refinement and fluidity not always found in heavier music. The band do almost all of their engineering work themselves, but have also worked with several talented producers. Their first EP T (June 2014), comprised of four previously released singles and one new song, featured the mixing and mastering handiwork of Gino Bambino (Novallo) and Justin Hill (SikTh). Their single Resurface (December 2014) was handled by George Lever (Burials).

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC –  September  2016

VoxxPromotions: Facebook

——————————————-

Voxx Promotions is proud to announce it will be hosting the Calgary Nov 16th and Edmonton November 17th show dates for Steve Grimmett’s GRIM REAPER ‘Walking In Shadows Tour’ in support of their long awaited 4th album ‘Walking In The Shadows’ released on September 23rd via Dissonance Productions.

The revamped version of the cult ’80s British metal act led by singer Steve Grimmett returns to Alberta after first performing at Farmegeddon Open Air in 2015 in Ryley, AB.

“Walking In The Shadows” is GRIM REAPER’s first new recording since 1987’s “Rock You To Hell”.

Grimmett stated about the effort: “I am tremendously proud of the album. It has taken a long time because it has been fraught with problems, but we have ended up with the best thing I have done in decades. We’re all looking forward to bring it to the fans and excited to be doing a world tour, starting straight after its release, and carrying on until 2017.”
Surrounding himself with an all-new band, Grimmett recently completed a 22-date North American tour. The trek included stops in New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Austin. Due to its success, the band recently announced a planned return in the autumn to support the new album after release.
Original GRIM REAPER guitarist Nick Bowcott joined STEVE GRIMMETT’S GRIM REAPER on stage on March 25 at 4 D’s Bar & Grill in Fort Wayne, Indiana to perform several of the band’s classic songs.
Bowcott previously played with STEVE GRIMMETT’S GRIM REAPER in 2014, marking the first time Steve and Nick appeared on stage together in more than 25 years.
STEVE GRIMMETT’S GRIM REAPER is:
Steve Grimmett – Vocals
In Nash – Guitar
Chaz Grimaldi – Bass
Paul White – Drums
GRIM REAPER’s debut album, “See You In Hell”, was released in 1984 and was distributed worldwide through RCA. A successful world tour in support of the album included an appearance at Texxas Jam in front of over 20,000 people. The band’s 1985 follow-up, “Fear No Evil”, showed improvement on the production front and also enjoyed moderate success in both the United States and Europe.
Ebony Records delayed the release of the band’s third album, “Rock You to Hell”, by almost two years. The LP eventually arrived directly through RCA in 1987.
The back catalog from GRIM REAPER was reissued in Japan in October 2008 via RCA/BMG.
