Mexico’s CIRROSIS have just released their lyric video for “A Better Place To Hate” featuring Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Suffocation, Chimaira). The single is off their new album “The Collector of Truths” due out December 1, 2018 via Concreto Records.

The video was done by Javier García de León at Elipsis Films and the music is a mix of death and thrash, suitable for fans of Fear Factory, Morbid Angel and Pestilence. The band has been lurking in the shadows and with Grammy nominated producer Francisco ‘Chucky’ Oroz playing guitar they are finally ready to return to the underground metal scene and prove they can still write fast and technical music.

Vocalist Sir Oz is excited to show fans what CIRROSIS has been working on and tells us what can be expected:

“I guess that fans will like to see a more versatile and technical Cirrosis. Organized brutality and non-pretentious songs. There are songs that seem an insane competition of virtuosity, we respect that, but we seek to offer a good song, heavy but structured songs. However, this does not mean that fans are not going to find technical aspects in our album; actually, they are going to find it a lot.”

“The Collector of Truths” will be the band’s second studio album, which comes 20 years after their debut “Reciclando Desesperación”, the Spanish language album released in 1999.

Even after 20 years, CIRROSIS is still in demand and they are looking forward to satisfying their long time fans and impressing new ones.

BIO:

CIRROSIS is a death metal band from Sonora, Mexico, formed in 1991 with the name Cirrosis by Francisco ‘Chucky’ Oroz and Sir Oz, being the only original members in the current lineup. Due to their technical capacity they incorporated early progressive elements and melodic solos, CIRRORIS quickly gained notoriety in the local and national scene. Their live performances were characterized by their intensity and fury, soon becoming a cult band. In 1996, Joseph Lev joined the band and they recorded their first demo “La Tierra de la Adicción”. In 1999, CIRRORIS entered the studio and recorded the album “Reciclando Desesperación”, with lyrics exclusively in Spanish.

In 2001, CIRROSIS decided to break up, so the members could continue with their personal and professional projects. In 2014, Concreto Records decided to reissue the album “Reciclando Desesperación” describing it as “the maladaptive sound that disturbed a style in Mexico that can give lessons to current and modern bands”.

20 years later, CIRROSIS is releasing their second studio album “The Collector of Truths” which will be released at the end of 2018 by Concreto Records.

Inching near the release of their debut self titled album on September 21st, Toronto’s newest progressive metal band IOMAIR are sharing with fans their third single “Dance of Eternal Insanity” to follow their two previous cuts “Embodiment of Emptiness” and “Cast Away”, which debut at #28 on the iTunes metal charts.

Recruiting a cast of characters from several well-known Toronto Metal bands including Vesperia, Asaroth Incarnate, Völur, Hallows Die, Sludgehammer, Bloodmoon Collective and The Silence Factory, IOMAIR was founded by drummer/vocalist Dylan Gowan. Combining haunting violin work with blackened growls, melodic singing, heavy riffs and thundering drums, IOMAIR creates a style that’s unique for all members involved.

Their self-titled album was written by Gowan in 2017 as a way to cope with the personal challenges he faced throughout the year. The nine-song release is a collection of musical stories that center on the universal themes of love, yearning, trials of life and self-reflection. Spanning a multitude of influences including folk metal, melodic death metal, prog and even Latin music, IOMAIR aims to delight listeners with often unexpected twists while offering an outlet for hardship.

Gowan comments:

“All the lyrics involved are about personal struggles, relationships and the trials of life. These experiences inspired me to write so that I could walk away from those experiences intact rather than broken. All of the tracks on the album are all about the personal struggles we all go through in life, and I hope people will find comfort in these songs knowing that they are not alone.”.

Iomair, (Scottish Gaelic for the word “Row”) is the experimental and progressive new band created by Drummer/Vocalist/Songwriter Dylan Gowan (Vesperia). The name reflects on Dylan’s Scottish/Irish ancestry and the songs are reflections of personal circumstances present in Dylan’s life.

Established in late 2017 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, with the desire to create something progressive and unorthodox, Iomair draws influences from all genres including metal, folk, latin and funk and especially from bands such as Opeth, Cynic and Porcupine Tree. An ingenious script with an unexpected ending and an inspired staged turn into images, “Nobody Knows” is a song that deals with those unutterable secrets of our lives and the hidden side of our personality.

Rooted in León, Spain, North of South is a complex-categorizing band, deeply interested in crossbreeding different music styles such as Jazz, Death, Pop and Latin influences with a solid base of progressive metal.

“There’s no concept or theme on this album so all the songs have different meaning. The title track itself divulges into the inevitable end to humanity and potentially the world with it. It discusses the issues around the globe and also addresses the ignorance and selfishness of those indirectly affected by the chaos. It has a strong “United We Stand, Divided We Fall” theme in regards to how people can turn their backs on those in need in order to save their own skin, which ironically will lead to our end as it causes people to turn on each other. Musically for this album, you will notice we have evolved from the first release and have moved away from thrashy overtones to become more diverse including more heavily stated melodic and technical with a solid groove and death foundation.”

The album follows their 2015 debut full length “End Of Days” and EP “Beyond The Apocalypse” released that same year. Active since 2014, OMINOUS ECLIPSE is a very ambitious band passionate about writing and playing extreme music. They have already shared the stage with the likes of Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah, Archspire, Incantation, Vesperia, Beyond Creation, Rivers of Nihil to name a few. Spawned in the Toronto murk in 2015, CREATURES is a group effort with a long history that intertwines the lives of numerous local bands to summon a truly devastating soundscape of unbridled chaos. Inspired by bands such as Necrophagist, Despised Icon and Thy Art Is Murder, CREATURES is a band playing heavy and catchy deathcore, taking intense sounds and mixing in small elements of extreme and black metal.

Their latest effort “II” reaches into a large porcelain cup of topics. Instead of just merely presenting their themes to their listeners CREATURES smashes the grail in their faces making sure their themes cut deep and stay with them. Whether they are lyrics about the futility of existence with a cartoon metaphor, or the bond of brotherhood within an intense party setting, there is a message for everyone to latch onto. Regardless, the songs are a visceral insight into the band’s life.

“The ‘Creatures II’ EP as a whole is the ideas and thoughts over the past year. We are expecting this release to be even better received than the last EP. We worked twice as hard on ‘II’ and had a few new people along the way that really helped add an outside perspective to the creative processes for a more mature and heavy sound. Rockshots Records is proud their latest signing of dark industrial metal band Karmic Link for the release of their third album “Dark Metropolis” on October 19th, 2018. This next full length follows the band’s two previous albums “Esoterica”(2010) and debut “No Light But Rather Darkness Visible”(2008).

Karmic Link was founded by Stathis Kassios (Nightfall, ex-System Shock) whom after a period of extensive recording and live experience wanted to give birth to a surrealistic musical project. The outcome has been a dose of dark industrial coldness with Mediterranean energy along with atmospheric landscapes, progressive and instrumental madness, electro breakdowns plus hard rock pentatonic moments.

The band’s current line up features an international cast consisting of band founder Stathis Kassios (ex-keyboard player of Sweden’s System Shock and of Greece’s Nightfall), Evan Hensley (guitar, bass) (ex-Nightfall, Dark Hound), hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, USA and Sweden’s Kim “Kimbo” Gustavsson (drums, guitar) currently based in Oslo (Norway).
