Formed to cause confusion and fear in people who don’t understand what heavy metal is about, Helsinki, Finland’s BLOODY HELL (ft. members of Moottörin Jyrinä, Metal De Facto) have been wowing fans around the globe with their loud, unapologetic, speed demon tyranny for two decades. Known for their drunken wild shows, the band has always presented good times in the circle pit with anthems about drinking, hangovers, devil-worshipping among other important matters.

Taking a hiatus after releasing two EPs, Hangover Riders (2010), What The Hell (2003) and a self-titled album (2015), along with all members focusing to perform with their other project Moottörin Jyrinä (a children’s heavy metal band that plays cover songs from classic 1980s heavy metal songs with child-friendly Finnish language lyrics with an educational tone), the quartet returns in 2021 to continue the party as grumpy old men with strong 18-year-old angst. Their new record “The Bloodening” due out via Rockshots Records on April 30th, 2021 features 12 fist-pumping songs to kick the band’s new found momentum into overdrive.

Last month, they kicked off the headbanging party with the full length’s first single “Burn Witch Burn” and today, the band is ready to start this bash’s second act with their lyric video for the next single “In The Night We Burn”.

The band adds:

“This is a fast track and it includes the very first riff that Jaakko & Marko made! It took only us about 17 years to write a song around it and get it to the moshpit!”

About:
Bloody Hell was formed in the year 2000. Jaakko Halttunen and Marko Skou formed the band to cause confusion and fear in people who don’t understand what heavy metal is about. The band is all about playing heavy metal the way it was meant to be, which is loud, unapologetic, and obnoxious. Lyrical themes revolve around drinking, hangover, the devil, and other important matters.

Bloody Hell has released one full-length album before and toured around Finland and Russia. The band is known for their drunken wild shows where you can expect loud heavy metal music and a pretty decent show also.

Even though the band has been on hiatus sometimes it has always returned. In the past times, it was because angry young men wanted to play angry music. Now it’s grumpy old men wanting to play grumpy music. Now with the new release, the band is again delivering its trademark fashion-free, bullshit-free Heavy Metal music for the fans who enjoy Heavy Metal.

The members of Bloody Hell also all perform in Moottörin Jyrinä (a children’s heavy metal band that plays cover songs from classic 1980s heavy metal songs with child-friendly Finnish language lyrics with an educational tone). Guitarist Esa Orjatsalo and drummer Atte Marttinen play in the mighty Metal De Facto.

With all their “Might”, Edmonton, Canada’s Juliet Ruin spent most of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic writing new music. They were originally planning to just release one single for 2021, but as true musicians, the creative juices kept on flowing and the end result is the band’s new EP “Dark Water”, due out on Friday, March 26th.

In celebration of the EP’s release, the band is sharing their music video for the record’s closing track “Might”.

“‘Might’ is the fourth and final song, completing the release of the Dark Water EP from Juliet Ruin. Might is a rising from the ashes anthem that goes out to everyone dealing with their own personal hell, especially in these current times.”

Watch the power of “Might” via the video’s premiere on GhostCultMag HERE.

Following their highly praised 2019 album “Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos”, Juliet Ruin‘s new EP “Dark Water” represents a step into a heavier domain for the band as they continue on with low-tuned guitars. The vocals on this record will certainly shock old fans and draw in new fans as frontwoman Jess’ work in the scream vocal area is apparent throughout as she raised the bar on the clean vocals as well with many pop diva-esque techniques. Fans familiar with the band’s sound on previous releases will notice the evolution in a heavier direction.

“The listening experience we are going for is a hard-edged, but catchy experience with lyrics you can shout in anger, but also it leans positive on message.” adds the band.

Juliet Ruin is recommended for anyone who enjoys heavy and melodic metal with powerful vocals, especially those who already have The Agonist, Jinjer, and Killswitch Engage in rotation.

“Dark Water” will be available on March 26, 2021.

“Every band needs to find that element which connects them with a fanbase, and Juliet Ruin has done that early on in their career.” – V13

“Pre-album single “Spite” that features a Sprite logo is also reminiscent of “Cloud Factory” era Jinjer with an excellent vocal range on show. Blending riffs seamlessly with gravity defying leaps between sub-genres from classic Metal to Hard Rock to Metalcore, it’s a nice twist on the conventional approach.” – Metal Noise

“If you are into Halestorm, Jinjer, Killswitch Engage you are gonna fall in love with this group not just a bit. But madly and deeply! Grab a hold of this gem of a release on the 6th of September you aint gonna regret it , cos Juliet Ruin aint gonna “Ruin” ya day they are gonna make it !! ” – The Metal Gods Meltdown

“From hardrock, to metalcore and everythign in between, Juliet Ruin delivers a fun and interesting record with many sounds, attitudes and emotions.” – Heavy New York

“Juliet Ruin’s sound is comparable to a muddier version of Alexisonfire, with Ruin guiding the songs with her powerful voice while being backed up by Geislinger’s harsh screams and growls…. Juliet Ruin has been gaining more recognition after every concert with its single “Rogue Down” receiving a nomination at the Edmonton Music Awards.” – Vue Weekly (2017)

0 Synastry’s Raucous, Melodic New EP “Dividing The Double Helix” Is Now Streaming On Decibel

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 25, 2021

For fans Veil of Maya, Born of Osiris, Within The Ruins, Fear Factory, Slipknot

Synastry’s Raucous, Melodic New EP “Dividing The Double Helix” Is Now Streaming On Decibel

“Dividing The Double Helix” Out March 26th

Montreal, Canada’s Synastry will have a second EP out, less than six months after unleashing “Civilization’s Coma”. The new EP, “Dividing The Double Helix” is thematically similar to the first and before it officially releases on March 26th, it is streaming in full on Decibel Magazine HERE.

One of the prime focuses of the group is to stay true to themselves, while they keep writing heavier yet groovy music, there is an underlying method to the madness. They like brutality, but don’t try to be brutal for brutalities’ sake. They further explain the new release in their own words:

“We are very excited to be able to release this EP as the second in the string of releases coming from Synastry since our renaissance in 2020. Listeners will love the hooks and the musicianship on these three songs, which are strong enough to stand on their own and when combined makes “Dividing The Double Helix” is an EP that will grab you and won’t let go!”

Synastry is just getting started, but they are quickly falling into their stride. According to the band, these three songs are part of a big batch of songs they have recorded and are slowly releasing. The lyrics for these songs and all other songs to be released find themselves in a kind of disjointed tapestry that follows an ever-growing story.

Aggressive and groovy, “Dividing The Double Helix” is a fast-paced groove fest that will hook you from the first note and make you bang your head throughout. It is recommended for fans of Within the Ruins, Fear Factory, and Slipknot.

“Dividing The Double Helix” will be available in its entirety on March 26, 2021 on Synastry.bandcamp.com, Spotify,  Apple Music.

About:
It takes courage for a band to integrate such distinct thrash, death, and industrial influences into a catchy yet multilayered approach as do Montreal’s Synastry.

Each metal listener desires something different and thus a band exists for every taste. Inspired to a certain point by melodic, futuristic death thrash, Synastry binds to these influences a threatening mid-paced groove, atmospheric textures, and the unmistakable gruff and mature vocals of James Aniston. Flanked by guitarist Paul Iverson and bassist Gary Vee, and backed up by the thunderous Kay Kessler, Synastry is a crushing wall of well thought out and meticulously written metal. Lyrics come from Aniston’s impression of the world and his experiences in it which are layered with the collaborative music that all band members contribute to.

Started originally in the early 00s, the Montreal band took the underground scene by storm, they climbed the Myspace ranks, toured the regions, and released “Pallets Of My New World” (2006) (EP) and Blind Eyes Bleed (2008) (LP). In 2012, the band went dormant, where they remained until 2020 and awakened the world with the rumbling sounds of their resurrection in the form of EP “Civilization’s Coma”. Its mission amidst the widespread uncertainty of Covid times was to sweep the globe and to explore humanity, the singularity, and its morality.

Just like a rising phoenix, Synastry continues to burn its flames by kicking off 2021 with another EP.

Entitled “Dividing The Double Helix”, the EP is three tracks best described as a fast-paced groove fest that will once again hook fans from the first note and make you bang your head throughout. It’s simply heavy groovy brutality!

“We hope to give fans more of what they are used to from us, without rehashing old ideas. Thematically these 3 songs are similar to Civilization’s Coma EP, but the delivery is different. The lyrics from these three new tracks are very personal to me. It comes from my impression of how I feel I fit in the modern world, and how I see myself.” says vocalist James Aniston.

“Dividing The Double Helix” is due out on March 26, 2021.

“This new song (Dead To Me) is a short, sharp kick to the head — and it does kick like a furious mule, albeit a massive and mechanized one. The music is fast and ferocious, loaded with pulse-rifle riffs and hammering drums, blaring chords and squirming arpeggios, booming bass and a mix of serrated-edge growls and incendiary screams. The music is heavy-grooved, with a bit of a start-stop quality that hints at industrial influences to go along with the death/thrashing momentum, and also effectively creates an atmosphere of menace and mayhem. It may bring memories of Lamb of God to mind as well as Fear Factory.” – No Clean Singing (2020 Review – Civilization’s Coma)

“This EP contains lyrics that people from all walks of life can relate to and shines a much-needed light on each individual’s importance in the grand scheme. Given the year we have had collectively, this is one new age metal album that the world needed. If you’re looking for a futuristic metal EP with a deeper meaning, “Civilization’s Coma” is a must listen.” 10.10 – Metal Temple (2020 Review – Civilization’s Coma)

“The hammer blow that is “Dead to Me” was the first single, front loaded with schizophrenic riffs and jack hammer footwork Synastry have wasted no time in delivering something that is straight to the point with vicious intent. There is even time for blast beats and some Godflesh inspired industrial noises that frame and enhance segments. Aniston has the power to manipulate his voice to create a number of different voices with the use of pitching and on the ripper that is “Narcomancy“, he sounds like he’s going slowly insane.” – Metal Noise (2020 Review – Civilization’s Coma)

“James Aniston’s throat abrasions are raucous and psychopathic at the same time, boiling with anger and imperious might. The double-kick triplets of Kay Kessler’s drum patterns follow the syncopated guitar chugs in perfect time. Everything clicks into place like a torture machine from a Hellraiser film” – Scream Blast Repeat (2020 Review – Civilization’s Coma)

“Synastry deliver their brand of classic death metal with an industrial twist. The result is a Thrashy head-long experiment into the brutal and somewhat futuristic. Musically tight and heavy with mean riffs, Synastry try to head into a new direction for Metal.” – Sea of Tranquility (2020 Review – Civilization’s Coma)

“Montreal-based metal maulers Synastry play a brutal yet groovy style of death metal with fringes of industrial that recall bands such as Fear Factory and Killing Joke with the savagery of acts like Kataklysm.” – Gears of Rock (2020 Review – Civilization’s Coma)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 25, 2021

For fans of Misfits, Nirvana, Motorhead, Anti-Flag

THE BLOODY HELL Shares Stop-Motion Music Video “When You’re Gone”

Halifax, Canada’s The Bloody Hell has a new full-length in the works to follow their award-nominated 2018 self-titled debut album (Loud Recording of the Year” – Nova Scotia Music Awards 2018), and as they currently work on the sophomore release, they are sharing with fans a new music video for the single “When You’re Gone”.

The band has teamed up once again with stop motion animator Diane Lindo who also did their 2019 video “Out of Our Minds“, which was nominated for an Independent Music Video of The Year Award by Dropoutentertainment.ca.

“When You’re Gone” is a glimpse of what’s to come from the forthcoming, yet to be titled second album. It’s a dark love song that finds hope in a horrible situation, musically reflected with the grit and aggression of classic punk rock but with pop undertones of earworm melodies. The track was recorded at award-winning New Scotland Yard Studio in Dartmouth, NS during the summer of 2020.

The video can be viewed via The Bloody Hell‘s YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/FjE2iDebguY

Formed in 2017, The Bloody Hell has gotten dirtier and more polished at the same time, with the band infecting fans with their pop-cultural hooks and concepts, while the guitars keep getting louder and the vocals becoming uglier.

Suitable for a variety of fans, The Bloody Hell cites influences ranging from Misfits, Nirvana and Motorhead, anyone who enjoys a fun and dirty romp with a bull horn of grungy vocals.

The Bloody Hell‘s previous releases can be found on the following platforms: Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify.

0 Rockshots Records: Signum Draconis To Release Metal Opera of Inferno, From The Divine Comedy by Dante

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 25, 2021

Rockshots Records: Signum Draconis To Release Metal Opera of Inferno, From The Divine Comedy by Dante

On Italy’s National Dante Day, March 25th, Rockshots Records announce they will be presenting later in 2021, Signum Draconis‘ heavy metal opera of Inferno, from The Divine Comedy written by Dante Alighieri.

Featuring 17 songs by the band all sung in English, the double album is the first in a triptych of the complete work of Dante’s magnum opus with Purgatory and Paradise to follow, and will also feature duets with selected special guest vocalists, narrations of selected chants, and an orchestral accompaniment by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra and Choir.

Album Teaser

Signum Draconis takes their name from the medieval knights’ Order of the Dragon, and has opted for a classic 80s-influenced metal sound in homage to the rock and metal icons that inspired them to be musicians, and aim to produce a truly musical, timeless and epic recording that will absorb and reward from repeated and dedicated listening.

Guitarist and composer Oscar Grace reflects on the history of the project:

“The story of Signum Draconis can be said to begin in 2010, after two years crossing what felt like a personal hell, I was sitting in my car gazing at the sky when a message came to me as it were, a vision clear as day: ‘Put The Divine Comedy to music!’ At that moment Signum Draconis was born. I returned home immediately and hunted out an old copy of Dante’s masterpiece I had owned for years and began furiously reading. Two full years of study and research followed, reading and re-reading all three books many times and even traveling to Florence to visit the 13th Century poet’s own house, trying to envisage what it would have been like to be him and the world in which he lived his story.

It took two years to extract the parts that would form the material for the songs, and a further year working with my good friend Frederick Pollock to compose the lyrics, bringing to each song its own meaning whilst maintaining the thread that binds all the songs together, at all times remaining faithful to the source and paying the utmost respect to the poet Dante with regards to the correct register with perfect meter and rhyme in English.

“I believe Dante’s Inferno perfectly suits the musical style of Heavy Metal, but given the epic scale and cultural importance of Dante’s books, I wanted to bring something else to the music, something that lent grandeur and elegance, and to that end, I began to write parts for a symphony orchestra, in an old-fashioned way, with a fountain pen and sheet music and no new technology to guide my hand.”

Overall, this project took four years to compose the music for the band as well as the orchestra and along the way Oscar Grace searched for the companions who would join him on this voyage of grand musical ambitions. The first was Francesco Micieli, the drummer with whom he had already worked on other projects, then Max Morelli to be the voice of the band, and later on, after an arduous search, Oscar Grace found Filippo Martignano for keyboards and Stefano Antonelli on bass.

A teaser for the double album can be viewed via Rockshots Records YouTube channel  –

More details on the album will be revealed in the coming weeks.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 25, 2021

For fans of Architects, Tesseract, Dream Theater, Parkway Drive, Of Mice & Men

Streaming Now! Progressive Metalcore NEXT DOOR TO HEAVEN’s New EP “Inside”

Russian progressive metalcore band Next Door To Heaven‘s new EP “Inside” is now out as of Thursday, March 25th. The self-released EP is the follow up to the band’s 2020 single “Dance With Me” and the 2019 sophomore album “V Ways To Accept” released on Sliptrick Records.

“Inside” features five djenty melodic prog tracks along with special guest vocals from Lord Nelson (ex-Stuck Mojo) on the record’s closing song “Flare Up”. The band’s discography has always been known for flirting with djent metalcore influences and this new release is no different, except this time guitarist Evgenii “Gene” Mazunov took the helm on the band’s sound with the use of a 9-string Ibanez along with bass, arrangement, and composition duties. Also joining as a guest for the recording is well-known Russian drummer Pavel Lokhnin (God Eat God, Dominia, Perimeter).

Vocalist and lyricist Daria Mazunova comments:

“We put our souls into the music we create, always. It’s not about making music for something in return, not about making it for fun. It’s about emotions transformed into music. I would say for ‘Inside’, we entered into more metalcore territory though it doesn’t mean there aren’t prog components or experimentation done. Conceptually, the general idea of the EP is a fight between a human and a machine and a master/obeying inside one person. If you look at the cover art you will see a heart combined with a car engine in the moment of ignition.”

Saudi Arabian Prog Rockers Songs of Petrichor Debut Single “Nomad” Off Upcoming 2021 Album

Self-Titled Album Out November 2021 via Wall of Sound Records

L-R – Shaharyar Hamdani (Vocals, Guitar), Omair Soomro (Drums, Lyrics), Yousuf Masood (Guitar, Bass)

Saudi Arabia’s progressive grunge rock trio Songs of Petrichor are releasing their debut single “Nomad” in preview to their self-titled album coming November 2021 via Sound of Wall Records.

A nostalgic, melancholic revival of influenced 70’s prog, 90’s grunge, and South Asian classical music, Songs of Petrichor has fused a refreshing sound from the Middle East. With all members of the band being multi-instrumentalists, the crafting of songs has always taken an interesting approach with each of them having mutual respect for each other’s instrumentation.

Admitting that they are first and foremost a live experience, Songs of Petrichor’s true chemistry comes to life when adding improvisation to their stage performance, but in the meantime, with lockdowns around the globe, they feel it is necessary to allow the public to enjoy this chapter of their sonic adventure until then.

Songs of Petrichor‘s goal with “Nomad” and the forthcoming record is to take listeners on a journey of rain-induced sentiment, strong emotions, and adoration for the classic yet modern love of rock. On “Nomad”, fans will hear SOP find their own voice while still demonstrating a unique and relatable sound.

“‘Nomad’ was inspired by our drummer Omair’s thoughts of not belonging anywhere and constantly moving on. The song is open to interpretation as either a narrative of a literal ‘nomad’ or as a metaphor of one whose journey is akin to that of a nomad. The song holds themes of not belonging to a single location, perseverance, moving on, pain, loss, vengeance and yet finds space for hope. It is an Oriental Grunge song with elements of Progressive Rock.”
adds the band.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 23, 2021

For fans of Sylosis, Paradise Lost, The Haunted

Rockshots Records: NAHAYA New Music Video “Deific Mask” + New Album “Vital Alchemy” Out May 21st

(ft. Members of Oceans of Slumber, Vesperian Sorrow, ex-Kingdom Collapse, Painting The Massacre, Cerebral Desecration)

NAHAYA (ft. members of Oceans of Slumber, Vesperian Sorrow, ex-Kingdom Collapse, Painting The Massacre, Cerebral Desecration) will be unleashing their new album, entitled “Vital Alchemy” via Rockshots Records on May 21, 2021. The Texan band is an amalgamation of American melodic groove thrash, Gothenburg sounds, and Middle Eastern influences. The band was founded in 2013 by Ryan Peters with Semir Ozerkan, who immigrated to the US from Istanbul, Turkey to pursue career opportunities in metal, one being with Oceans of Slumber.

“Vital Alchemy” follows the band’s well-received EPs “Transcendence Pt. II” (2020) and “Transcendence” (2018). Since the band’s conception, they have been working hard to make a name for themselves independently, performing over 50 shows year-round in Texas and neighboring states including Austin’s SXSW festival and becoming national finalists for the 2019 Wacken Metal Battle USA competition.

Mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Scale the Summit), “Vital Alchemy” is seven tracks that will take fans through a wide range of emotions. There is something on this record for every kind of music lover. From the melody to the groove to the speed and unlike its predecessors that were focused on themes of science fiction, this new record takes on more personal interest, spirituality, and metaphysics along with it being more musically dynamic and experimental, incorporating progressive, acoustic, melancholic sounds with thrashing elements.

Overall, “Vital Alchemy”, signifies a rebirth for NAHAYA as the new tracks featured on the recording are the next step in the band’s evolution when it comes to their musical direction.

Today, the band shares the first single “Deific Mask” in support of the upcoming full length. The track is one of the fastest on the release. It has pummeling drums, a nasty solo, and a hooky chorus.

The band adds:

“We are extremely excited to release our first single Deific Mask with our fresh new lineup. Deific Mask was written during a major lineup change within Nahaya. The song has a speed metal influence with a catchy clean vocal chorus. We think the song will be a definite circle pit starter live.”

San Diego’s MONARCH are declaring “Nuclear Warfare” with their new thrashing music video in support of their upcoming sophomore album “Future Shock” due out April 16th.

The video is a slamming assault, showcasing the Wacken Metal Battle USA champions‘ loud speedball riffs till the very end. The track was originally written by vocalist/guitarist Matt Smith as an assignment for a composition course while earning his Associate of Arts in Classical Music Degree. It’s a full circle Metal-education!

The video can be viewed via its premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

Compared to their first, very DIY album, 2017’s “Go Forth… Slaughter”, MONARCH‘s next escapade “Future Shock” was done professionally at Clarity Recordings in El Cajon, California, and is a big step forward for the band both musically and sonically. It explores the entire spectrum of the band’s creativity, with each song varying in sound, but maintains a cohesive feeling. The band comments on the album:

“We’re all just super excited to get this album out to everyone because I think everyone right now needs something new to get excited about. At the time of this release, the world is still under quarantine from the COVID-19 virus in parts of the world and we think it will be a welcome escape from having to worry so much right now. We should all be cautious of course, but we can’t make our lives not worth living. This album really inspires us to write even better and we’re still amazed at how it came out. We look forward to hearing its response by fans and getting to play it live and loud again.”

Hitting hard on a lot of levels, from the riffs, the solos, the speed, the heaviness, the melodies to the great memorable lyrics and the dynamic range of the band’s creativity, MONARCH is recommended for fans of Exodus, Slayer, and Testament.

“Future Shock” is set for release on April 16, 2021.

““Go Forth… Slaughter” is a loud record that is full of twists and turns. Hopefully this release encourages Monarch to do some touring beyond Southern California, because songs like these need more ears.” – SD Metal

“A very colorful cover can also win over many fence-sitting people – and the rawer attention to detail on the production front gives us a clearer picture of what to expect live (a sinister snare snap plus in your face guitar tones duly noted). Go Forth…Slaughter executes in that late 80’s/early 90’s thrash/death platform, where people lost interest in major label veterans straying into commercial waters. Monarch makes it safe for you to trust their music: brutal, aggressive, and all for the love of the genre.” – Dead Rhetoric

“‘a super solid speed metal record.” – Metal Assault (2017 – Review – Go Forth... Slaughter)

SENNIGHT Shares Their “Golden Crown” Off Upcoming 2021 Album “New Takes The Old”

Track Premiere via Metal-Rules

Featuring Album Guests Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable),
Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse), Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual)

L-R – Sennight – Adam Mast – Bass, Vocal | Trevor Norris – Guitar

Atlanta’s Sennight drives forth with their heavy, melancholic brand of melodic metal that can quickly be felt by the listener who is washed over with pronounced energy. It commands attention and is not a sound that is easily forgotten. Compared to their earlier demos, which were more of an alternative metal sound, their music has gotten faster and more energetic since then.

Planning to release their first full-length “New Takes The Old”, which features guests Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable), Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse, Blackwater Drowning, Azymyth), and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual) later in 2021 to follow their 2019 debut EP “Fear of The Unseen”. The duo of Adam Mast (Bass, Vocals) and Trevor Norris (Guitar) are ready to introduce more of themselves to the world with the release of the third single from the upcoming 10 track album.

Entitled “Golden Crown”, the single is a heavy detuned track that features a brilliant solo from guest guitarist Ron Dalton Jr.

Vocalist/bassist Adam Mast explains “Golden Crown” in further detail:

“We used a rarer guitar tuning on Golden Crown – BADGBE (Standard tuning with bottom E down a 5th), which took us out of our comfort zone for riffs and chords, but we were really happy how the track finally came together. Somehow the song took on a heavier pocket/down tempo feeling while staying with that cold melodic vibe that we like to use. There’s also a fabulously ripped solo by Ron Dalton Jr., and it has to be one of the best on the album. The lyrics sort of play between nebulous themes of change, death, and leaving behind old states of being to embrace new ones.”

“Golden Crown”, Sennight‘s third single can be heard via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

Spotify pre-save here.

Sennight‘s forthcoming album “New Takes The Old” will be comprised of ten songs with a variety of colors, sometimes energetic and penetrating, other times somber and plodding. The album was recorded over several sessions at Jam Room Studio in Columbia, SC, and a few parts were done remotely at guitarist Trevor Norris’ home studio. Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable) and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual) also recorded their guest solos remotely. The lyrical content on the album is largely inspired by various European mythologies and epic stories: people striving and persevering against terrible odds and having otherworldly experiences.

Ever ambitious, Sennight has more plans for releases after this upcoming 2021 album drops.

Recommended for fans of Katatonia, Opeth, and Kamelot, Sennight‘s previous singles “Arise” and “Tearing Free”, can also be heard on Bandcamp, Spotify. Apple Music.

1. Perfect Symmetry

About:

Atlanta’s Sennight was founded in 2017 by bassist/vocalist/songwriter Adam Mast. After years of playing bass in the extreme metal scene, his musical tastes and direction changed and he began writing in a more melodic/heavy metal direction. Influenced by melodic metal bands such as Katatonia, Opeth, and Kamelot, he sought to craft a sound with heavy guitars and drums entwined with harmonic vocal melodies.

Sennight’s first EP “Fear of the Unseen” came out in May 2019, recorded at Jam Room Studio in Columbia, SC with engineer Zac Thomas. Joining in on the studio tracks were a couple of ace North Carolina metal musicians: Drummer David Holquin (Violent Life Violent Death) and guitarist Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse).

Wasting no time, Sennight reentered the Jam Room Studio in late 2019, again with Thomas at the console, and began recording their first LP “New Takes The Old” with guitarist Trevor Norris officially joining the band in early 2020. Holquin and Dalton Jr. helped again with studio tracking and the sessions along with guest guitar solo appearances from mainstay southeastern metallers Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable) and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual).

Up to this point, the writing has been done by Mast who fully demos the songs on a DAW and sends them to the other studio players. The guitar solos are fully made by the individual players and the drums are creatively improved by the drummer. When it comes to their live shows, metal fans can anticipate a high energy set with a big guitar sound, in true classic rock band style with no backing tracks. Sennight’s debut album “New Takes the Old” can be expected in 2021.
