0 Bravewords Premiere: Vancouver’s Param-Nesia Bind Savagery And Harmony Together In “Forsaken”
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – May 27, 2021
For fans of Black Dahlia Murder, Allegaeon, At the Gates, Arch Enemy, Revocation
Vancouver’s Param-Nesia Bind Savagery And Harmony Together In “Forsaken”
Track Premiere via Bravewords
New EP “Aspect of Creation” Out June 18th, 2021

Param-Nesia, hailing from Vancouver, Canada are dishing out a new EP this year, “Aspect Of Creation”. This is their second technical death metal offering following “The Beginning” released in 2019. Today, they are dropping their next single “Forsaken” for your headbanging needs, which can be heard via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.
The band explains the track:
“Forsaken takes things in a more melodic direction, a bit more flair in the melodies, while still retaining the heaviness of the intro song before it (“Pestilence of Man”). It is distinguished by the harmonies and leads with savage vocal accompaniment and a powerful outro.”
Param-Nesia intends to take listeners through a story with their extreme metal, they don’t use traditional song structure, instead, they opt for something that flows and progresses in an engaging way. Their music is written from life experiences with emotion and heart put into it.
For Param-Nesia, all of the main writing is composed by lead guitarist Andy Cahalin, his process is usually stringing together several riffs, then recording a rough draft to go over with the band. The lyrics are written between vocalist Cayle Charlton and Cahalin. For Charlton, the lyrics are based in life experience such as heartbreak, or struggle with overcoming obstacles to grow from the experiences; for Cahalin, the lyrics are usually inspired by all the crazy fantasy fiction books he reads!
The five tracks on the forthcoming EP cross subgenre boundaries making this brutal assault applicable for most metalheads, especially fans of The Black Dahlia Murder, Allegaeon, and At the Gates.
“Aspect of Creation” comes out June 18, 2021.

0 Scattered Storm (ft. members Pissing Razors) Unveil Music Video For “Kingslayer”, Debut EP “Oblivion” Out July 2021
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – May 26, 2021
Scattered Storm (ft. members Pissing Razors) Unveil Music Video For “Kingslayer”
Debut EP “Oblivion” Out July 2021

Hailing from El Paso USA, Scattered Storm is gearing up to release their debut EP “Oblivion” this summer. Their sound is both primal and futuristic, with clean groovy tones coming from 7 and 8 string guitars and catchy, heavy vocals. The first single from this release is “Kingslayer” being presented with a music video.
“Kingslayer”, is the heaviest track and came about by guitarist Kevin Armstrong watching too much Godzilla, plus it features a “Stanley Kubrick inspired space like ending. They explain the track further in their own words:
“We felt this song really encompasses the overall sound of the band, because it has pretty much everything we wanted to throw in there. Big vocals, big guitars, pummeling bass, but most importantly that heavy ass steady groove, which will get some of these headbanging necks a run for their money. Lyrically touches on a couple of religious subjects plus the philosophical, but mostly focusing on letting go of all of that and being free of the mind and spirit.”
This new album isn’t a concept album, but each song meshes with the others and there is a distinct flow from one track to the next. Overall, it is captivating, showing off a band that is still experimenting with elements, but comes across as refined without sacrificing tightness.
The men behind Scattered Storm are not new entrants to the metal game. Jay Arriaga played in Random Allusion, and Years of Cold; Andre Acosta also belonged to Pissing Razors and Years Of Cold; Kevin Armstrong is currently with Mondoshawan and toured extensively with Section 6. Ed Razor is the founder of Pissing Razors and he also played drums with Overkill and bass with Ministry.
Those looking for music with a lot of ambience akin to Gojira, Tesseract, Fear Factory and Meshuggah will be interested in the futuristic sound of Scattered Storm.
The music video for “Kingslayer” can be watched via TheCirclePit‘s YouTube – https://youtu.be/5WbwojPueZ4

The EP “Oblivion” is out on July 9th, 2021.

1. Aeon Flux (3:40)
2. Under The Fire (4:03)
3. Kingslayer (4:43)

About:
Scattered Storm hails from El Paso, Texas, USA and is a state supergroup comprised of seasoned musicians Andre Acosta and Ed Razor from Pissing Razors fame with band founders Jay Arriaga (No Life on Earth, Years of Cold), and Kevin Armstrong (Mondoshawan, Section 6). Their music is very dark, futuristic and heavy, but also has a lot of ambience.
Formed in 2019, the band has been polishing itself since and decided on an ultimate direction to go in. From the beginning, there was a very clear understanding of every detail they wanted to incorporate. From the very tuning of the 7 and 8 string guitars and the very specific tonality, they produce the ambience provided by the keyboards to layers and layers of vocals to really convey Acosta’s sound. This is all finished off with the main focus, that catchy riff and rhythm to have the songs stay on people’s minds and headbanging of course. Gotta have headbanging.
A Scattered Storm song begins with Arriaga and Armstrong exchanging riffs, with an emphasis on a technicality, but never losing the groove. After the song is polished, it goes to Acosta who applies the fantastic to the real world through the vocals.
When Scattered Storm hits the stage, the audience can expect a combination of the primal vs the futuristic as described in the lyrics and song title names. In the summer of 2021, they are unleashing their debut EP “Oblivion” via Blood Blast Distribution powered by Nuclear Blast.

Canada’s The Wring will be releasing the new album “The Wring² Project Cipher” on Friday, May 28th. Founded by guitarist Don Dewulf, the studio project’s full length has something for everyone across the spectrums of classic heavy metal to progressive rock and features a lineup of guests that includes Marc Bonilla (Keith Emerson Band, California Transit Authority, Glenn Hughes), Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats, Dethklok, Steve Vai), Thomas Lang (Robert Fripp, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Williams), Jason Henrie, and Jason Sadites.
“The Wring² Project Cipher” is seven songs with one instrumental and six vocal tracks and is highly recommended for fans of Rush, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, and The Dead Daisies.
Before the album officially drops, The Wring has teamed up with TheProgSpace for the record’s full stream HERE.
Don Dewulf adds:
“I wrote a majority of the music. Marc Bonilla (vocals) tweaked words here and there to suit his phrasing and ‘melodic acquisition’. A friend of mine, Steve Kraus, wrote the lyrics for one of the songs. He is very verbose so I chopped and modded, but the brilliance is his. All the players on this album are diverse and really complement each other and the overall vibe. I find this album has enough proggy stuff for the geeks, but still plenty of melodies and rock riffery for the regular heavy music listener. For now, The Wring is a studio project and will remain that way for the immediate future. If I can assemble some players, I would love to take this to the live stage. I like to also mention, I have another full album of material in the works! Thank you for your support and please keep continuing to follow us for more music.”
“The Wring² Project Cipher” will be out on May 28, 2021.

About:
The Wring is a progressive rock project created in 2015 by guitarist Don Dewulf who had compiled a large inventory of compositions that he had fully demoed, just needing players to turn the demos into songs. The project started out in a band format with local musicians and they released a debut self-titled album in 2017.
After a series of live dates sharing stages with Anvil, Diamond Head, and Dead Daisies, the band dissolved. A chance conversation with Mikael Akerfeldt inspired Dewulf to forge ahead with new material, re-connecting with bassist Jason Henrie and engaging world-renowned musicians to perform, bringing the new songs to another level.
The result of that was “The Wring 2 – Project Cipher” releasing in 2021, which will feature album guests Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats, Dethklok, Steve Vai), Thomas Lang (Robert Fripp, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Williams), Jason Henrie, and Jason Sadites.
Always starting with a riff, Dewulf builds compositions that showcase his signature blend of classic heavy rock meets prog. The lyrics come after the music is done and are usually a targeted response to an interaction that has sparked anger. The translation of emotion into words is subtle, often belying the more aggressive undertones. Expect more from Dewulf with The Wring3 already in the recording stage!

About:
Kill The Imposter is an Orlando, USA-based deathcore band that was formed in late 2018. Pulling musical inspiration from everywhere, the intention of this four-piece band is to make you move in any capacity you see fit.
Coming from local and national bands, Kill The Imposter brings experience, drive, and mayhem, to the stage. The quartet banded together over a shared love for heavy and violent music, after sharing the stage for one song they knew they had something special, so they sat down together and within a week had 3 songs written and a video lined up. They haven’t stopped since that first sit down, and they won’t stop.
One of the founding members Danny Arrieta (guitar) is the primary music writer getting help with arrangement by Johnny Nobody (vocals). Nick Colvin (drums) carries the aggressive speed and heavy grooves with Wilson Bembry ( bass) definitely sharing and blending the thundering lows and technical playing between all of it.
Since they got together, Kill The Imposter has released “The Decimation” (2019), “A Strain Of Agony” (2020) and “The Violence Sessions” (2021). They have pummeled the stages of Central Florida Metal Fest and Tampa DeathFest and played alongside heavy hitters such as Nile and Terrorizer.

0 Primalfrost Invokes A Melo-Death Chill With New Single “Nomad”
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – May 25, 2021
For fans of Wintersun, Wolfheart, Stormlord, Kalmah, Insomnium
Primalfrost Invokes A Melo-Death Chill With New Single “Nomad”

Just as the warm breeze and sun begin to thaw the cold expanse of Canada, the long-dormant Primalfrost from Toronto is rising from hibernation with a new single “Nomad” off a new eight-track album “Lost Elegies”.
Working away through the isolation of the Covid pandemic, band founder Dean Arnold expects a positive reception for the new music, citing that definitely a solid continuation of their sound, but in a matured, refined way.
“I’m incredibly excited to be bringing Primalfrost back. Grateful to say that things have finally aligned to make another album happen, and I believe the two first singles that I have released “Nomad” and “Maelstrom” are some killer tracks to showcase what else is to come. My vision with Primalfrost has always been to create an epic atmosphere and soundscape that has the heaviness and intensity to go with it. Nothing has been rushed, every song packs a punch, and I look forward to hearing what people have to say.” adds Dean Arnold.
“Lost Elegies” will be the second album from Primalfrost to follow “Prosperous Visions” (2014) (Maple Metal Records) and “Chapters of Time” (EP) (2012) (CDN Records). It was self-recorded by Dean Arnold before sending it off to be mixed and mastered by Jonathan Lefrancois-Leduc of Silverwings Studios in Montreal, Canada who also added additional orchestration. The album’s artwork will be done by Jan Yrlund (Manowar, Tyr, Korpiklaani).
Primalfrost is the personal project of Dean Arnold who writes for and plays all instruments, as well as takes on vocal duties and orchestration. Primarily a guitarist, Dean has performed hundreds of shows in 30+ countries across four continents. Primarily touring with American death metal band Vital Remains, and now Toronto’s own Operus, Dean has acquired hard-touring experience in a vast variety of settings. Dean has had dozens of guitar solo appearances on a wide variety of metal albums, including Polish death metal band Hate’s 2017 album “Tremendum” (Napalm Records) and for Colorado’s Buried Realm, alongside players like Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) and Brandon Ellis (Black Dahlia Murder).
Epic and dark, Primalfrost gives a nod to Finnish melodic death metal with added elements of grit, intensity, and speed found in more extreme subgenres. It is recommended for fans of Wintersun, Wolfheart, and Kalmah.

0 Canada’s Maudiir Unleashes Double Digipak For EPs “La Part du Diable” & “Le Temps Peste”, Includes Bonus Track: Sid Vicious Was Innocent (The Exploited cover)
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – May 25, 2021
For fans of Skeletonwitch, Darkthrone, Voivod, Ihsahn, Carcass
Canada’s Maudiir Unleashes Double Digipak For EPs “La Part du Diable” & “Le Temps Peste”
Includes Bonus Track: Sid Vicious Was Innocent (The Exploited cover)

Montreal’s one-man-black-metal-band Maudiir created by F. has unleashed two EPs since its inception. The debut “Le Temps Peste” was issued in 2020 and within a year later, the sophomore recording “La Part du Diable” was unveiled this past February.
Both are different in sonics, but similar in delivery of their creative veined black metal. The first EP featured more straightforward black/thrash elements whereas Maudiir‘s second release experimented more with progressive influences. Overall, both demonstrate intense, dark music from the mind of F. with lyrics that draw on societal reflections, religion, and the environment.
Today, Maudiir announces the release of both EPs on limited edition double digipak, which features a bonus cover track of The Exploited’s “Sid Vicious Was Innocent”.
F. aka Maudiir comments:
“I felt that combining the 2 EPs on one digipak would work well to offer an interesting listening experience, showing the progression of the music and sound between Le Temps Peste and La Part du Diable. Maudiir is very much a DIY family affair, so again my brother handled the visuals and did a beautiful job. It’s a really nice package to get into the world of Maudiir. Plus there is also a special version of The Exploited song “Sid Vicious Was Innocent” that’s going to surprise people.”
Maudiir is recommended for metalheads looking for something new, especially fans of Carcass, Darkthrone, and Skeletonwitch.

Canadian College Radio Loud Charts: #1 – The National Loud Chart – For the Week Ending: Tuesday, February 16, 2021 (Earshot)
“As “The Slumber” begins, a jittery, dissonant bass riff, underlaid by droning guitar and soon joined by F.‘s rabid snarl, creates an immediate feeling of incipient and dangerous derangement as it quivers above a neck-popping back-beat and a febrile bass line.” – No Clean Singing
“Feel free to imagine Maudiir as a mix of early Metallica and Enslaved, Darkthrone, Diamond Head, Skeletonwitch, Martyrdöd, Skitsystem and fellow French Canadian technology users/abusers, Voivod. Sitting at home with no shows to attend or play for a year has provided F. the opportunity to work in isolation and create the next chapter in the Maudiir story, La Part du Diable. The five songs within continue stirring the influence pot with the result being simultaneous sweet and sourness, light and darkness, uplift and despondency.” – Decibel Magazine
“If you’re tired of all those black/thrash bands that sound too much like each other, this is a little different. Just solid blackened thrash with a strong footing in traditional heavy metal that calls for repeat plays.” – The Metal Crypt
“If this is what Maudiir can achieve in only 24 minutes and 24 seconds, bring on a full-length. If you’re into Skeletonwitch, Voivod, or Ihsahn, give release this a listen!” – 4/5 Metal-Rules.com
“It’s The Crowning Hour that closes out a banger of an EP. Where the guitars blur reality and the drums hammer so hard, the brain begins to ache. The tempo is fiery, and the passionate delivery is joyfully received again.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life
“The first thing you notice about Maudiir‘s new EP, La Part du Diable, is just how good the record sounds. Crystal clear production on a blackened thrash release might not be at the top of every listener’s shopping list, but here the production absolutely works for F.” – Sentinel Daily
“What’s so refreshing with this E.P. is the flourishing evolution of styles and the sheer confidence in which the music is played. Aided by the crisp and professional production, this is a genuinely exciting release.” – The Razor’s Edge
“Maudiir entertain those who like black metal but also are open to prog and old school heavy metal. The mix is pleasing and the whole thing works very well.” – CGCM Podcast

Rockshots Records: Feel The Demonic Possession w/ KARPENTER’s New Single “Mechanical Sense”
New Album “Sleepless” Out May 28th

KARPENTER (named in tribute to horror master John Carpenter) will be releasing their debut album “Sleepless” on May 28th via Rockshots Records. The album will be a gateway to a hostile and tormented world, where space and time are perceived in a distorted way. Each track hides a story, and a tale steeped in fear all inspired by horror movie themes and characters such as “Perfection Valley” for Tremors, “No Vacancy” for Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, “Shark” influenced by Jaws, and “The Manor” for Army of Darkness.
With just a few days until the full-length is unleashed, these horror fiends are sharing their latest music video for “Mechanical Sense”, which is inspired by the horror video board game Atmosfear. It’s a fast and impactful track that speaks of demonic possession as a metaphor of the inability to manage choices and actions in everyday life.
“This song is here to make a clear point: we can play hard and heavy if we want. “Mechanical Sense” is like a fast train running with no rails and boundaries. It is clearly a speedy metal song filled with stunning melodies and majestic mid-tempo openings. It’s a no-brainer when it comes to the power of sound and it is so funny to play! ” adds the band.
