Saudi One Man Prog DUSK Shares First Single “Lethal Perspectives” ft. Aaron Harris (Solemn Vision)

New Album “Spectrums” Out February 2023

Saudi Arabia’s one-man prog metal unit DUSK (from the mind of Meshari Sangora) is unveiling the first single “Lethal Perspectives” ft. Aaron Harris (Solemn Vision) from the upcoming full-length entitled “Spectrums”. The album follows two previously unleashed EPs “To Where I Belong” (2021) and “Ascension” (2020) along with multiple stand-alone singles that were used to introduce the project’s music to the world in 2020.

The album’s first single talks about someone who suffers from Megalomania and is a message to remind them that they are not a god. DUSK goes into further detail about how the track came to be.

“I got to know Aaron Harris, the vocalist for Solemn Vision from my friend Gigi Arabia of Heavy Arabia. She pitched Aaron to me when we were looking for a vocalist for Lethal Perspective, and as soon as I heard Aaron’s vocals I knew he was a perfect fit for the album. He’s got a raw scream that can really get you hyped! and with what I had in mind for songs on the album, I knew that he be the right fit and he sure did deliver vocally and lyrically 100 percent!”

The single can be heard at https://youtu.be/rcOw6G0VgKE

Digital (Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music) – https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/dusk14/lethal-perspectives-feat-aron-harris

For “Spectrums”, DUSK recruited various many guests such as Saudi musicians Khalid C (Entropia) and Abdulrahman Elghazali (who was a featured guest on EP ‘To Where I Belong”) along with international artists such as Aaron Harris of the New York death metal based band Solemn Vision and the great Jaani Peuhu, previously known as a member of Swallow The Sun and his current band Ianai. The album features 12 tracks and is a multi-lingual expression with various songs sung by its contributors in English, German, Finnish, and Arabic.

DUSK comments on the forthcoming album:

“As a musician and one of the pioneers in the local Saudi Scene, I wanted to bring more creativity to the game and make this project an inspiration standpoint to the new upcoming bands and musicians who look up to me both locally and internationally, so right then and there, I decided to make this album into two different themes, something that will speak to every music lover out there, from the heavy and raw guitar tones to the Synth-ish spacy sounds that ease the listener to a very dynamic and emotional ride.”

Once a college DJ in UAE, that time in his life lead to his rediscovery of all forms of metal and was just the beginning of creating his own music as a self-taught musician and producer. DUSK created the new album to be listened to as Side A and Side B. The first half of the album (Side A) is aggressively sounding, and more guitar-focused and has a build-up of more hostility to each track while the listener moves forward. The second half (Side B) aims for a new sound from DUSK infusing more of the electric/EDM-ish sound where it’s more focused and digitized sounding and widely more appealing to the non-metal listener, all while keeping the same aggression level building up with each track.

“I wanted to bring more to the table and make this album a possible gateway to new audiences and perhaps fans from both sides, the metal heads & the non-metal listeners. I think all people who enjoy music will be interested in it, with all that has been added and all the different genres mixed in. What I’m trying to do with this record is to make everyone experience their own feelings and their own journey, the topics for this project are big and very stretched, some of the topics deal with real issues like betrayal and disposition, Love, Hate, and Hope.” adds DUSK

Recommended for fans of Currents, Born of Osiris, Novelists, and Deftones, along with everything under the vein of progressive metal, metalcore, and djent, “Spectrums” will be released on all digital platforms including vinyl on February 17th, 2023.

The album was fully written & recorded at Dusk’s studio with the mixing and mastering done by Tom Haberland of Crushing Waves Studio. Album artwork created by Giannis Nakos from Remedy Studios.

Inching close to the one-year anniversary release of their debut album “The Chronophagist”, Montreal’s Fall of Stasis is sharing with fans a new music video for the record’s closing title track featuring guest vocals from Viky Boyer (Voice actor for The Monster Factory, Ariel) via its premiere on MetalInjection HERE.

“This is the final song off the album and it tells the story of a deity who has the power to steal time from mortal beings. The song starts off with a slightly modified version of Wilted Forests’ intro, followed by a heavy riff and an epic, vocally-charged chorus. The last chorus is cut short by an eclectic and odd-timed trashy riff followed by a black metal section. The song ends with an epic riff and a fading soaring guitar solo.” adds the band.

Unleashed on February 25, 2022, Fall of Stasis’ “The Chronophagist” was produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and garnered much praise from metal media and built a strong local following that lead them to open for Avatar and Light The Torch during July 2022. With a wide arrangement of influences, a high level of precision, and dedication, the band prides itself on creating relentless, fast, aggressive yet melodic, and symphonic opus’. Ranging from black to symphonic metal, plus folk interludes, along with proggy riffs, the band intertwines a brutal yet unpredictable melodic composition that unapologetically grabs the listener’s attention from start to finish.

“We wanted our first album to bring something fresh to the metal scene. Each song was carefully written and fine-tuned to maintain the listener’s attention. We wanted the album to showcase every member’s musical influences without compromising the quality of our music. Overall, each song blends well into the next one, yet they’re different enough to keep the listener involved for the duration of the album. We asked Christian Donaldson to record, mix and master our album since he’s easily one of the most respected and recognized metal producers in the province. Again, we didn’t want to cut corners and we made sure to partner with someone who would do justice to our music. Lyrically, the album showcases fictive storytelling from beginning to end, although the lyrics often symbolize modern social issues along with some of the band members’ personal experiences.” adds the band.

Symphonic and unpredictable with a little bit of something for everyone, Fall of Stasis is recommended for fans of The Black Dahlia Murder, Unexpect, and Ne Obliviscaris.

About:
Fall Of Stasis, based in Montreal, Canada, was originally formed in 2014 with the intention of creating original music that couldn’t be defined by a specific genre. They started off with a very eclectic and progressive style, and as time went on, it was toned down in favour of musical cohesion and they added symphonic arrangements.

In 2017, the band released their demo and will be following it up in 2022 with the full-length “The Chronophagist”, which maneuvers closer to black metal but with definitive prog-heavy stylings. Working together on everything, there isn’t a single song where the creative input from a band member has not been blended into the mix. Fall of Stasis firmly believes that creative collaboration is one of their main strengths.

The current lineup of Fall of Stasis consists of Jessica Dupré (vocals), Gabriel Bernier (lead guitar/backing vocals), Tristan Bergeron-Boucher (rhythm guitar), Mathieu Groulx (bass), Sergei Lecours (drums) and Mélissa Bissonnette (keyboard). Each of the musicians brings a wide array of influences which results in a distinct sound, which caters to folk, black, progressive and death metal fans alike, but also to the uninitiated, thanks to their original and catchy melodies.

Symphonic yet brutal and often unpredictable, they present a mix of very powerful growls and clean vocals, along with good stage presence, efficient crowd work and tight musicianship. They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many notable local and international bands such as The Agonist, Wolfheart and Beyond Creation.

“Musically the song (Baal Arise) is a brutal one that flies like a bat, discharging obliterating drum munitions, flurries of technically adept guitar work that generate sensations of jolting punishment, frenzied madness, and swirling exoticism. But it’s also overlaid with a symphonic layer that lends an air of menacing grandeur, as well as dancing keyboards that channel ebullience. The vocals combine voracious growls and vicious snarls — until they surprisingly change into singing in the song’s high-flying chorus.” – No Clean Singing

“There hasn’t been enough epic metal this week, so here’s the debut of Fall Of Stasis. There’s a lot going on with this band. You’re getting stuff that sounds like Abigail Williams, Cradle of Filth, Bleeding Through, and The Black Dahlia Murder. Then there is a light folk through-line as well. This band has just started, but I’m already excited for their future. ” – Metal Injection

“Drenched in a deluge of nuances, FALL OF STASIS are a truly genre-defying collective, ensuring the beating heart of this album is the band’s individualism and sincerity to their unique concepts and unflinching exploration of sound. “The Chronophagist” is enriched in an ingenious blend of diverse soundscapes, creating a captivating listen from beginning to end and a journey you wish could last a lifetime.” – Female Fronted Power

“The Chronophagist is a fascinating piece. One that will pull you forward with an unholy hunger for more.” – Rock Music Raider

“the first 10/10 of 2022 to these Canadian madmen and women for an album that is contemporary yet brings back memories of when Metal was at the height of its powers, and yet slays with as much ease as a tactical nuclear weapon.” – Ever Metal

“Overall, this album is unlike any other debut out there. It puts absolute chaos on the line and ensures each band member’s unique taste and abilities are available in full force. Take a listen and hear for yourself how this eccentric album puts forth one hell of a dynamic unmatched by any other.” – Metal Goddesses

“Fall Of Stasis complete a successful display of force on their debut, one which benefits massively from Christian Donaldson’s supportive production and mix. More of a name to be treasured by those attracted to innovation within the modern paradigm than those actually seeking outright novelty, The Chronophagist nonetheless ought to steal a fair bit of your time, as the title accurately promises.” – Metal Observer

“The moment I heard the first song I knew I was going to like this album as it sounded like something that you’d hear in the opening credits of a horror movie. After listening to the rest of this album I can easily say that this was one of the best albums that I’ve heard in a while – everything sounds so fresh and familiar and just super epic! Like the lyrics paint epic pictures of folk horror happenings and that was only helped by the neo-classical/folk-inspired melodies. Overall, it reminds me of the Scandinavian extreme metal albums of the late 90s coming from bands like Dimmu Borgir, and the early albums of Children of Bodom and Nightwish. I absolutely love this album and Fall of Stasis have most definitely gained themselves a new fan.” – Andrew Nasso – CFRU 93.3FM (Guelph, ON)

“Symphonic, brutal, unpredictable and loud they’ve made a melting pot of extremes only fitting for a Sith witch to stir creating bubbling brutality. So far they’ve played stages with The Agonist, Wolfheart and Beyond Creation among others.” – Covering The Scene

“The Chronophagist is restless and relentless, a bold and ambitious creative firestorm of an album that defies normal description, it will simultaneously freak you out and entertain with enthusiasm, it’s a rollercoaster high-speed assault with scant regard for weak-minded sensibilities. It may not settle for long but is an excellent gateway into their world of musical mayhem.” – Metal Roos

“With their frantic sound and otherworldly, playful yet dark ambiances, Fall Of Stasis is ready to drag you into a world where madness reigns.”

As-tu quelques minutes? Écoute ça!” – Ars Media QC

0 Get Ready For “Dematerialization” – Blackened Death VISITANT Unleash Debut Single w/ Music Video (ft. members Abiotic, Demon King)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 30, 2022

Get Ready For “Dematerialization” – Blackened Death VISITANT Unleash Debut Single w/ Music Video (ft. members Abiotic, Demon King)

Seasoned vets in their respected local scenes across various American states, blackened death metallers Visitant converged in Nashville, TN earlier this year and are now prepared to make their debut to the metal world with the single “Dematerialization” accompanied by a music video.

Visitant was formed by Matthew Brown (Demon King, ex-Enfold Darkness), Taylor Tidwell, and Chelsea Strickland (voice actor at Monster Factory), with the later addition of Terran Fernandez (ex-Mindscar) and Anthony Lusk-Simone (Abiotic).

Vocalist Chelsea Strickland explains their introduction to the extreme metal community and music video:

“Right before the idea of Visitant, I was binging all of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor and became infatuated. I really grew an attachment to them because the emotions were relatable. My grandfather became terminally ill around the same time. My mother also became dangerously ill around the same time. I associated the series with them… The feelings I had while watching that. Were comparable to real-life events. Anyway, I was in love with how beautifully those series were written and shot. The cinematography was so superb. I was hooked… and when I moved to Nashville from Pensacola, I started Visitant with Matt. The name is another word for an apparition. I wanted to embody the intense yet heart-wrenching vibes it carried. So I felt the name was fitting. I’ve always loved ghost stories since I was a kid. Discussing the ideas and concepts of Visitant with Matt and Taylor came easily. We wanted to create a project where we could feel free to write what we wanted without it being too complicated or forced. To make it as dark and spine-tingling as we wanted it to be.”

Vicious, feral, and meshing Victorian mourning vibes with black metal, this is the path Visitant will be exploring in their sound as they plan to deliver a forthcoming EP in 2023. Even though they write from a distance, with today’s easy access to communications, they have been able to create and write from state to state.

“I think our single Dematerialization and more to follow will be well received. I honestly feel our sound is unique. We have really rad guitar lines and melodies. We just want the audience to experience the music with all senses eventually. Audibly, we just hope it makes you feel something.”

“Dematerialization” was the culmination of several months of collaboration between all members of a newly formed band. During this time they were writing other songs for the project in an attempt to create an original sound, but it wasn’t until this track’s completion that they had a firm idea as to what they would become.

Visitant is recommended for fans of Naglfar, Gojira, Goatwhore, Enslaved, and Opeth.

The music video for “Dematerialization” can be seen and heard via its premiere on Slam Worldwide – https://youtu.be/R3bGYtR2zJU

New Album “Mythos” Out Now!

Vancouver, Canada’s Hunting Giants have put together a very special “Berserk” inspired animated video for their track “Remnants”, which is featured on their latest album “Mythos” released this past September. From the perspective of a hero in his final moments of life, “Remnants” explores the multi-faceted emotions and mentality it takes to sacrifice oneself for those they love. While hidden under the varying chords and melodies, this song maintains a hypnotic rhythm, which persists until the very last beat. Hunting Giants delve into the idea that death is inevitable and that the only way to truly conquer the grave is to live as an example and to inspire others into courageous action.

The band explains the song in further detail:

“For ‘Remnants”, the bass sets a frantic yet forlorn mood as the endless rhythm pounds out over vocals conveying the hopelessness of a hero who has been cornered by the demons he battles. A ghost-like wail recites the melody which the guitar previously squealed, leading to a triumphant chorus that speaks of the accomplishments our hero made in his life, which brought him to this moment. As the guitar sails out into the bridge, we are met with polyrhythmic percussion and persistent bass. Following the final chorus, our hero is supported by a choir of harmonies as he sacrifices his own life for those he loves. The band lets the gallop of the drums from Daniel Beavington set an almost power metal vibe as the vocals from Stephen Atkey set the stage for the story of war and words of victory, which is to come.”

Watch and listen to “Remnants” at https://youtu.be/iPr3MmUSppo

“Mythos” new album is the crowning achievement of Hunting Giants‘ many years of musical work, writing, and recording while gigging and enduring quarantine as a band during the Covid pandemic. The members of Hunting Giants all came from, and are influenced by elements from prog, grunge rock, and various metal bands. The album’s goal is to grab listeners and amaze them with intricate woven stories, energetic riffs, and distinctive vocals. The album is meant to be an adventure, with each track having its own flavour and setting; the songs are worlds unto themselves. All of the music on the release contribute to a listening experience that is much more than the sum of its parts. The material is an addictive encounter that will keep you coming back.

“This album is musically very diverse as it ranges from intense spine-chilling metal, down to gentle instrumental tracks peppered with melodic piano and haunting cello, all the way to epic ballads tastefully complimented by choirs, strings, and bells. Mythos lyrically explores archetypes, both heroic and villainous, that affect the world around us, as well as the inevitable fates which arise when these values are heinously held and expressed.” adds the band.

Hunting Giants is recommended for those who enjoy 90s grunge, heavy rock, and prog, especially fans of Alice In Chains, I Mother Earth, Soundgarden, Tool, and Audioslave.

Hunting Giants was started in 2017 with Bradley Trivett assembling the first musical themes and combining the percussive expertise of Daniel Beavington with the explosive rhythmic prowess of Corey J. “A glorious adventure is about to begin, starting right here today! Heavy metallers Hunting Giants are debuting their brand new music video for “Rituals,” the first single from their upcoming album Mythos. The song indicates the zeal and the ambition that the band is bringing towards this new record, due for release on September 30th. The “Rituals” video matches the flat-out intensity of the song, one that discusses necromancy and the harshness of hatred and shame.” – V13

“It’s not often that a band is described as ‘a blend of modern hard rock, progressive rock/metal and grunge influences,’ but that is indeed a fitting description of Vancouver’s Hunting Giants” – Bravewords

“Let me say this first, HUNTING GIANTS from Vancouver are REALLY freaking good. These guys are relatively new but they are tighter and more accomplished man many veteran bands.” – Rock You Show

“This is an album (Mythos) that you’ll want to wander through thanks to their technical proficiency and the production value.” – Metal Roos

“a solid listen, and a fairly unique combination of a few different styles. It’s mostly heavy enough for Metal fans, and mostly melodic enough for fans like myself who appreciate a good hook.” – Metal Temple

So far, all of his lyrics have been his retelling of the Dawn of the Jedi comics from Dark Horse Comics. Vis Mystica has recently debuted the album “Celestial Wisdom” upon the galaxy, and they now present a playthrough video for the single “Whispering Winds of Fate” (feat. Jonas Heidgert). McCray comments on the single:

“As the intro song and shortest song on the EP I made Winds a sort of guide to the main world in which our story takes place; Tython. This song describes the sentient world calling out telepathically to beings spread throughout the galaxy to board 9 ships and come bask in the planet’s knowledge and secrets. It was the final song written for the album and in our opinion possibly the best. All parties came together to combine catchy melodies with great vocal lines and a powerhouse effort from Jonas Heidgert”

The eight-track album is a fantastical journey into a world full of mystic powers and sprawling landscapes, with a classic “Good vs. Evil” battle and many memorable locations and detailed stories. It was produced, mixed, and mastered by Chad Anderson (Helion Prime) and the album art was done by Cody Bucher.

Despite writing all of the music himself, McCray (guitar, bass, orchestration) relies on the talents and input of drummer Dillon Trollope and vocalist Devin Dewyer to make the songs as strong as they can possibly be. McCray will think up the initial riffs on guitar, program a basic drum outline, complete a rough draft with no orchestration, send that project to Trollope, receive his refinements on the drum parts, add orchestration, and then finally write the lyrics and vocal patterns for Dewyer to breathe life into.

Epic, catchy, and technical, “Celestial Wisdom” is recommended for fans of Twilight Force, Rhapsody, and Blind Guardian.

“Vis Mystica is a very interesting power metal band from Pennsylvania. Listening to this group is like finding an oasis in the middle of the driest desert. Although one of its main characteristics is that its music is based on the Star Wars universe, it is fair to say that its music shines by itself and it is not for less, since its influences are not found in its local scene, not even in its country.” – Metal-Rules.com

“Offering escapism from everyday life, Vis Mystica transports listeners into a fantastical world of magical powers and epic stories with their Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic inspired Power Metal. Along with taking great influence from other bands, they possess a style that is unique and holds its own in the power metal landscape.” – Bloodynews.ro

Tentacles Industries – France’s eOn Showcase The Thrill Of Rebellion In Video For “Highlanders”

New EP “Kalash Blood & Bones Pt. 1” Produced by Nicolas “Ranko” Muller (ex-Svart Crown)

Back in October, hardcore outfit EON, hailing from France, released a thunderous, thrashy EP “Kalash Blood & Bones Pt. 1” produced by Nicolas “Ranko” Muller (ex-Svart Crown) and unleashed via Tentacles Industries. Since then they have released two music videos for the singles “Welcome To The Pyramid” and “Come Down”; now they are releasing a third music video for “Highlanders”. With an already sizable catalog dating back to 1999, they are eager to deliver a visual element to their violent, melodic hardcore. They share their thoughts on the single, which is indeed a nod to the film:

“Musically, it begins with guitars harmonized in the style of Carcass then it goes on with modern metal and hardcore, there is a melodic guitar solo and a black metal passage. The singing style adapts to each part. Lyrically, we explain that we have been parading the fashions and some bands for years and that we are still there even more extreme than ever.”

For the writing of this record, EON felt free to break the codes and defy genre rules, they wanted to show that violence has several faces in this world through the lyrics: and they wanted to push the envelope to the extreme while keeping the melody. First and foremost, their music is made with liver performance and the energy of the pit in mind, but there are strategically placed breaths of melodic fresh air. Lyrically, “Kalash Blood & Bones Pt. 1” is uncompromising even if it may seem very violent or politically incorrect. They ask hard questions and encourage rebellion.

EON is recommended for fans of Napalm Death, Hatebreed, and Slayer.

The music video for “Highlanders” can be seen and heard below.

About: eOn ass destroyer since 1999. Born in the fury of the dying 90s, eOn has never been a prisoner of style. A perfect mix of punk anger, the precision of thrash, and the violence of death metal, the band’s music go further to the extreme, but the hardcore Roots still lives on. Since the band hired Nicolas Muller as their drummer (ex Svart Crown), with more and more cutting guitar riffs, eOn melts a solid technique with a wide metal culture. It’s terrifying, yet clever music, allied with really impressive live performances that push the band to a high standard level.

France’s Atomic Trip released their third album this past October and coming up this March 24th, 2023, they will have it on vinyl available for purchase. Doomy and sludgy, “Strike #3” is a breath of sweet smoke and a head full of fuzz. Comprised of two lengthy tracks “Bomb #5” and “Bomb #6”, prepare for heavy doses of electric riffs. The band shares their excitement:

“We are so proud of our third album. We think that we have pushed all barriers to keep our motto: less is more. With a few riffs, we have made a progressive psychedelic doom masterpiece. Here the most simple becomes the most complex and every single note weighs a ton. A ton of harmonics, of resonance, of feedback. When we first played those tracks live, we were not confident and hesitated, but people reacted so well! From dark basements to the bigger stages on metal festivals, it has always been a total blast, from the top to the final drum hit. To describe Strike #3 in one sentence: like it or loathe it, you cannot ignore it.”

Fans familiar with Atomic Trip will not be disappointed in “Strike #3”; the sequel of “Strike #2” and Strike #1, it is even more crushing, and even more “in your face” than its predecessors. “Bomb #5” is full of finesse and heaviness, a fuzz apocalypse, and a cavalcade of mad drumming. “Bomb #6” interjects with penetrating feedback and toms rolls, and psychedelic heaviness. The last two last leaden minutes of it will completely twist your brain.

The album was mixed and mastered by Alexandre Borel and the album artwork was done by Jean-Luc Navette. Best served with a couple of brews and a joint, Atomic Trip is providing the soundtrack for a hazy evening and a cosmic trip so sit back and relax. They are recommended for fans of Conan, Bongripper, and Electric Wizard.

About: The dope factory has exploded, inhale the smoke, and prepare to trip. First, the violent blast of fuzz hits you in the face, then you board for a journey into blurry and muzzy dreams. Plug your darkest fuzz, light your joint, uncap your booze and feel the raw power of doom. We’re all atomic zombies trippin’ on slow riffs.

“These DOOM warlords have created the Instrumental Doom album of the year entitled Strike #1. Over the course of 40 minutes, this band proves that they can’t be fucked with when it comes to creating riffs that kill on contact. What I love about this record is how they are able to manifest such dynamic songs without using vocals. ATOMIC TRIP’s tunes are the perfect soundscape for your mind to run wild in a HEAVY NEVER-NEVER-LAND!” – CVLT NATION – Instrumental Doom album of 2017

“Each resonating chord is literally hammered out and left ringing over a bed of resonating bass and this is a pure and simple celebration of the utter power of the riff.” – MORE FUZZ

“These gargantuan sized riffs from Atomic Trip will hit you with hypnotic waves of radiation haze, while burying you in a mushroom cloud of fallout and smoke.” – SUPER DANK METAL JAMS

“Each, drawn out chord, is encapsulated with a veil of heaving discordance as hypnotic as it is painful, self flagellation by sledgehammer. Worship at the Sepulchre of doom!” – THE SHRIEKS FROM BELOW

“Atomic Trip creates soundscapes that are heavy and powerful as mountain massifs. It is a sense of desolation and at the same time magnificent and warm. Then Atomic Trip opens up completely new audio worlds far beyond the reality. The music is bigger than everything.” – SLAVESTATE

“Atomic Trip does not go below 8 on the Richter scale. Even with the earplugs, I thought my ears would fall like two pieces of plaster.” – FEEDBACK MUSIC

“Here is a raw, cryptic, deviant doom, where everything is played on the atmosphere. This is the secret little corner, where everything is only vibration, introspection, where the notes haunt the depths of the soul.” – THE DARK LODGE

0 Shores Of Null Begin Another Gloomy Chapter With “Nothing Left To Burn” Off “The Loss Of Beauty” Out March 2023

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 22, 2022

Shores Of Null Begin Another Gloomy Chapter With “Nothing Left To Burn”

New Album “The Loss Of Beauty” Out March 2023

Rome’s Shores of Null has a fourth album coming out next year, to expand their discography of melancholic doom. “The Loss Of Beauty” goes back to the usual full-length structure with different tracks, after the immersive experience of 2020’s “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)”, which consisted of a single 38-minute track. Each of the upcoming singles released in anticipation of the release are accompanied by a series of videos by Sanda Movies. The first single is “Nothing Left To Burn”, which the band comments on:

“This song was originally written in 2018 and recorded in 2019, with the intent of releasing it the next year, but then we changed our minds and released “Beyond The Shores” instead. So this song was kept secret until today, almost frozen in time, and it’s so cathartic to be finally sharing it with you, both song and video, which is by far the most complex visual piece we’ve ever done, and for this, we must thank Martina and the Sanda Movies crew for the amazing work. It is a song about the burden of life, its endless struggles, and suffering, with the awareness that our existence is only transitory”.

Watch and listen to the music video for “Nothing Left To Burn” – https://youtu.be/wuP14Dgx4F4

Those who have been following Shores Of Null from the very beginning know that their influences touch many genres, and those who loved “Quiescence” and “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” won’t be disappointed. The band considers “The Loss Of Beauty” to be the natural evolution of those records, while “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” represents a slight detour from the main road. Those who have known them from “Beyond The Shores” might find this new offering a bit different, faster in tempo, but still very gloomy and melancholic.

“The Loss Of Beauty” is melancholic dark metal with a wide range of influences, from gothic metal to doom metal and melodic black/death metal, with frequent use of vocal harmonies and deep growls. It is recommended for fans of Paradise Lost, Amorphis, and Enslaved.

“The Loss Of Beauty” is due out March 24th, 2023.

About: Shores of Null stand out from their contemporaries with their ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into their sound, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time: blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic yet majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

The Rome-based metal band has been an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013, churning out three impressive records: the melodic and somber “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014), the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), and finally their most ambitious work to date “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” (Spikerot Records, 2020), a 38-minute long opus which continues to prove the band’s willingness to go off the beaten path while creating their ultimate doom manifesto.

The band’s fourth album “The Loss Of Beauty”, recorded during the same sessions of “Beyond The Shores”, is expected to be released in March of 2023.

Shores of Null continues to impress and expand upon their doomy sound. An epic-length track worthy to sit amongst the best of these ventures (Edge of Sanity, Insomnium). Emotionally fulfilling and musically satisfying all at once.” – Dead Rhetoric (Best-of 2020)

“this album definitely is one of the best Doom Metal pieces I had the pleasure to look at in 2020. Once you plunge into its astonishing flow, there will be no escape from that majestic march through soaring soundscapes to those tear-drenched horizons.” – Rock Music Raider (Best of 2020)

“it’s certainly ambitious (video for “Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying)”), but if you have the time, it’s worth the watch. Steeped in quality and excellent videography, it definitely deserves the attention for the amount of effort used.” – Metal Injection

“Shores of Null rolled the dice with Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying) and delivered in a big fucking way… Shores of Null have crafted something special; a heart-wrenchingly emotive and beautiful journey of sorrow, anguish, pain, and acceptance. Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying) is a splendidly sombre, brilliantly written opus of commanding death-doom that demands attention.” – Teeth of The Divine

“this album is phenomenal, both in terms of concept and its monumental delivery… with this magnum opus [Shores Of Null] have proved their position front and centre as depressed doom-titans…” – The Sleeping Shaman

“Beyond The Shores (On Death and Dying)” is a near perfect, monumental achievement of doom. I can’t imagine any fan of the style not finding something here to enjoy.” – Metal Temple

“An enchanting, gloomy opus.” – Moshville Times

“A single track of incredibly well-realised melodic doom metal, layered with all sorts of treats and nuanced delivery.” – Wonderbox Metal

“A piece of delicious despair, delivered on a platter of storm-ridden and excellently executed Doom Metal. A record that left anybody else in the genre in 2020 quaking in their wake.” – Rock Music Raider

“their most intricate and brooding work to date… grandiose emotional impact.” – Metal Storm

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 21, 2022

Rockshots Records Signs France’s Manigance For English Version of New Album “The Shadows Ball (Les Bal Des Ombres)” Out Feb 2023

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Manigance for the English release of their latest album “The Shadows Ball (Les Bal Des Ombres)” due out on February 24th, 2023. The original francophone version was released on March 18, 2022.

What started out as a cover band to doing full fledge originals and being garnered “Best French Group of 2003” by Hard Rock Magazine and triumphing on the stage at Hellfest (Live video), “The Shadows Ball” is the band’s eighth studio album and first to be sung in English by new vocalist Carine Pinto who replaced Didier Delsaux in 2018. The band made the decision to to do English songs as they wanted to make their music more accessible to foreign audiences in preparation for their 2023 European tour with Rhapsody of Fire in March.

“This album contains different songs from the Manigance standards. We have shortened the songs and worked on the arrangements. We think we can play a lot of these songs in our shows. It’s a sign that the fans should enjoy these songs. They are adapted to be played live. We have evolved in our writing process. The songs are still very rich, but the structure is simpler. We also listen to the latest productions to offer a modern album with a current sound.” adds guitarist François Merle.

Sharing powerful music with melodies that hook with you and that are instantly memorable, fans of the band will hear lots of surprises in each song that will make you want to listen to them again and again to catch all the details. From the big riffs that make you want to move your head, to modern guitar solos, and big bass drums that roar like a V6 twin-turbo.

“I decided to do some new guitar parts that were heavier than on the previous albums. I bought new amps to be able to produce a new guitar sound for the new album. I wrote the majority of the new songs. With Carine’s new voice I proposed new structures. I preferred to shorten the instrumental parts of the solo to focus on the composition. Lionel worked a lot on guitar arrangements to bring a new and more modern atmosphere. We took advantage of the break with the covid to find new inspirations. The time allowed us to work on the melodies. We also decided to replace some keyboard parts with guitar parts to have a heavier sound than on the previous albums. As soon as the demos of the songs were finished, we started the recording process.” says band composer and guitarist François Merle.

With Carine Pinto’s voice, Manigance was able to work on new atmospheres. She has a very warm voice in the low register and can also reach high notes. This allows the band to cover a lot of melodies and to try out new structures for the new full-length. The band chose the songs that they thought were the most successful and had different moods. For example “End Of Lock Up”, which is a duet between Carine and Zaher Zorgati of Myrath (whom the band toured with across Europe in 2018), is a song with a strong focus on the chorus. They created this song mainly as a crowd-chanter during their live performances.

“As soon as the melody was built, the sound of the guitars came to reinforce the atmosphere of the song. We did a lot of guitar recordings with different amps. This created a very rich guitar sound to accompany Carine’s voice.” adds Merle.

The new album features twelve tracks that are inspired by Pinto’s lyrics from personal and intimate emotions, but also can relate to most listeners, from the betrayal of a friend, the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral (Paris – France), climate change, violence against the LBGT community, confinement during COVID, and domestic violence.

“The Shadows Ball” is recommended for fans of heavy metal and bands like Battle Beast and Accept.

0 Desert Thrashers SCARS OF ATROPHY Kick The Mosh Pit Wide Open w/ New Music Video “Nations Divide”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 20, 2022

Desert Thrashers SCARS OF ATROPHY Kick The Mosh Pit Wide Open w/ New Music Video “Nations Divide”

Tucson, AZ thrashers Scars of Atrophy, formerly known in the 80s as Atrophy on Roadrunner Records, rebranded their lineup in 2020 and recently unleashed their return to the mosh pit with the new EP “Nations Divide” in June 2022, 30-plus years after the release of their last full-length 1990’s “Violent By Nature”. The band approached this comeback EP as both the entertainers and the audience. They love the thrash metal genre and for them, there is nothing better than watching a huge mosh pit break out while playing on stage. The EP has also garnered praise with comments such as “honestly this EP is easily the winner for the best thrash metal material in 2022” – Encomium Zine and “Breakneck speed and crushing mid-tempo are balanced, so that fans of EXODUS, VIO-LENCE and TESTAMENT definitely get their money’s worth.” – Twilight Mag.

Closing the chapter for their breakthrough return that saw them touring the country and sharing the stage with bands such as Exhorder, W.O.R. plus a performance on Dimestock (Watertown, WI), Scars of Atrophy is sharing with fans their latest music video for the “Nations Divide” title track, which features clips from this year’s shows and insane mosh pits.

Watch the video via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

Scars of Atrophy are currently working on their follow-up record for 2023, the band comments:

“Our yet-to-be-titled forthcoming album still needs tweaking and a hint of flavoring here and there and will be a greater representation of our EP ‘Nations Divide”. All songs on the EP will be on the album as well. Musically, the songs are all hard-hitting with our signature tempo and riffage. Definitely an aggressive approach with the thunderous double bass of veteran thrash drummer, Tim Kelly. The album will also have new tracks, Purge, Burn the Veil, and A Trophy Kill, which are currently being played live.”

Scars of Atrophy is recommended for fans of Testament, Exodus, and Slayer.

The EP “Nations Divide” was released on June 22, 2022, and is available on Scarsofatrophy.com/merch, Spotify, Apple Music
