NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 24, 2023

Out Now! Canada’s CATEGORY VI Have Gathered The “Coven” (Music Video) For The Release of New Album “Firecry” (Moribund Records)

Newfoundland, Canada’s CATEGORY VI have gathered “The Coven” in celebration of release day for their new album “Firecry” out now as of March 24th via Moribund Records.

“Bassist Keith Jackman wrote this song, and is his first lyrical contribution 🙂 This song is about our band seducing people into our witch lair and all of a sudden it turns into an oven, we essentially want to eat you up!” adds the band.

Watch the music video for “The Coven” at https://youtu.be/RPnXnf7-Odc

CATEGORY VI returns in 2023 with a full blazing firestorm with their third album and most accomplished release to date “Firecry”. From the initial flickering flame of “Firecry” to the final cinders of the absolutely combustible cover of HEART’s classic “Barracuda”, CATEGORY VI delivers true and classic 80’s heavy metal with utter perfection. “Firecry” boasts a crisp, clear, and scorching modern production that does not distract from the band’s true 80’s metal sound.

“At its core, unapologetic, the concept of this album is about the burning of witches historically, but also, how we are still being “burned” after all of these years.” says the band.

Lyrically crafted around themes of personal pride and triumph (Valkyrie, Heavy is the Crown), witchcraft persecution (Firecry), women’s strength (She Runs With Wolves) & their excellent live performances (Coven), these concepts are boldly and powerfully delivered by the soaring vocal excellence of Amanda Jackman. Bolstered and fueled by the powerful stainless steel riffs and catchy melodies of guitarist Geoff Waye, the pounding anvil bass of Keith Jackman, and the thunderous steadfast drumming of Brian Downton, CATEGORY VI brings classy and classic 1980s power – Traditional Heavy Metal into the 21st century with blazing glory.

To close out one of the best heavy metal albums of the decade, CATEGORY VI delivers an immaculate true metal, yet radio-friendly cover of the chart-topping Heart classic “Barracuda”. With “Firecry”, CATEGORY VI unleashes a global scale climate-changing metal cyclone that just may melt the North American frozen tundra with its blazing power metal.

The album “Firecry” is available via Moribund Records at http://www.moribundcult.com/product/DEAD304.html

“a promising band worth watching.” – Rock Hard (DE)

“the band, with their sound rooted firmly in the early 80s, play with real charisma.” – The Independent Voice

“a really nice slab of metal that should please fans of the old and new heavy and power metal genres.” – Metal Crypt –

“If you dig acts like Seven Kingdoms, Mindmaze, or Helion Prime, then I’d call this a no brainer although Category VI do separate themselves from their contemporaries with a more pugilistic edge, and a lethal injection of classic metal attitude which would call to mind Judas Priest or Mercyful Fate. Overall a solid record. You could do far worse than check this out. “ – The MetalCrypt

“So if you like your metal aggressive yet smooth, soulful while never failing to thrash, and resonating without sacrificing in that certain visceral punch, War is Hell is a must – an album that will appeal to the diehard fans of a forgotten generation of thrashers and headbangers, while bringing sufficient juice and sizzle to lure wayward fringe fans of the millennium and beyond. “ – Metalheads Forever

“This album, their second full length, is a power metal tour de force. Although I don’t think they sound like either band per say, they do give off a classic metal vibe like JUDAS PRIEST or MERCYFUL FATE. “ – Metal Temple

“Musically, Category VI are a storming True Metal band with no pretentions and no excuses made….Unlike the trend-driven sub-genres, the sound of Category VI is timeless and WAR IS HELL has already shown that they are ready to take it to the international stage.“ – Metal-Rules

Out Now! Shores Of Null’s Melancholic Doom Continues On Their Fourth Album “The Loss Of Beauty”

New Album “The Loss Of Beauty” Out March 24th

EU Tour w/ Swallow The Sun, Draconian, Avatarium

“The Loss of Beauty” is Shores Of Null’s fourth album and follows the acclaimed “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)”, unanimously considered by fans and critics as one of the Doom Metal gems of recent years. Both albums were recorded between 2019 and early 2020, and although “The Loss of Beauty” was initially conceived as the band’s third album, ‘Beyond The Shores’ took its place as it better reflected the doom and gloom sentiment of the ‘annus horribilis’ 2020.

Across 11 tracks (plus two bonus tracks), Shores Of Null once again submerges listeners with tempestuous and turbulent riffs. The band continues to hone its sound and take its melancholic dark metal to new heights by mastering an assorted palette of genres with inbred poignancy. The lyrics celebrate beauty in imperfection and transience and are meant to be an invitation to seek beauty in little things, especially those unexpected and ephemeral.

“Those who follow Shores Of Null from the very beginning know that our influences touch many genres, and I think those who loved ‘Quiescence’ and ‘Black Drapes For Tomorrow’ won’t be disappointed. Actually, I consider ‘The Loss Of Beauty’ to be the natural evolution of those records, while ‘Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)’ represents a slight detour from the main road, a quite successful experiment in which we gave vent to our most dark and dramatic side, focusing exclusively on gothic/death/doom metal, almost funereal at times. Those who have known us with ‘Beyond The Shores’ might find ‘The Loss Of Beauty’ a bit different, faster in tempos but still very gloomy and melancholic, so I’m pretty confident the album will be well received by fans in general.” adds vocalist Davide Straccione.

Dark and heavy, tinged with feelings of despair, “The Loss Of Beauty” is now out as of March 24th, 2023, and recommended for fans of Swallow The Sun, Borknagar, and Paradise Lost.

About: Shores of Null stand out from their contemporaries with their ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into their sound, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time: blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic yet majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

The Rome-based metal band has been an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013, churning out three impressive records: the melodic and somber “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014), the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), and finally their most ambitious work to date “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” (Spikerot Records, 2020), a 38-minute long opus which continues to prove the band’s willingness to go off the beaten path while creating their ultimate doom manifesto.

The band’s fourth album “The Loss Of Beauty”, recorded during the same sessions of “Beyond The Shores”, is expected to be released in March of 2023.

“Once again, Shores of Null continue to impress with yet another slab of high-quality doom/death that seems the quintet on an upwards trajectory. Their “Alice in Chains gone doom” recipe needs no repairing, thank you kindly, and while they’ve been around for nearly a decade, it’s still exciting to see where they go from here, because it still feels like The Loss of Beauty is hinting at even greater things to come. Add this to your overcast morning breakfast coffee moments, or your sunny afternoon chillout sessions.” – Angry Metal Guy

“With The Loss of Beauty, Shores of Null have released a hot contender for my album of the year, which I can warmly recommend to every fan of melancholic metal with doom, gothic, melodic death and black metal influences! I give this masterpiece the highest grade!” – Soundmagnet Magazin

“I highly recommend spending a quiet hour listening to the record with headphones.” – Powermetal.de

“It is a highly entertaining set of songs that comes together well nonetheless and leads to an emotional impact upon the listener. Fans of melancholic doom metal will find a lot to like here.” – Metal Bite

“with this new work, the Shores Of Null have shown all their majestic talent: The Loss Of Beauty is an album that mixes evil and joy, clarity and impurity, melodies and distortions with extreme dexterity. An album that will attract you thanks to its enchanting idyllic and romantic scores but which will make you unleash as soon as the rough and atrocious parts come into play: a record capable of transporting the interlocutor into a mystical and fairy environment but simultaneously unhealthy and distressing. Nothing to add: listen to them and I’m sure you will have yourselves confirmed everything I said!” – Metal Wave

“”The Loss Of Beauty” has not lost its beautiful melodies And it is exactly this mix that SHORES OF NULL keep to the end of the album… “The Loss Of Beauty” convinces by far Stretches through its refreshing heterogeneity. Straccione’s very strong vocal performance does the rest.” – Metal.de

“The Loss Of Beauty offers melancholic dark metal with a wide range of influences, from gothic metal to doom metal to melodic black/death metal. With frequent use of clean vocals and deep growls. A must for fans of Paradise Lost, Amorphis and Enslaved.” – Metalogy

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 23, 2023

Canadian Grant Slayer To The Rescue! Kami Van Halst Offers Music Business Planning Master Class For The Heavy Genre!

Vocalist, musician, and entrepreneur Kami Van Halst announces the launch of “The Canadian Grant Slayer”, a resource for musicians to become more successful in their grant writing and fundraising pursuits. Especially those in a heavier genre. She has already written and published three workbooks on Business Planning for Musicians, Marketing Plans for Musicians, and Marketing Plans for Filmmakers.

Kami is offering a Music Business Planning Master Class launching on April 1st that will cover topics to aid artists on grant consultation, grant editing, tips on grant applications, music marketing plans, film marketing plans, and business planning for musician books.

“I spent the last few years creating these resources and I really want to help musicians become more successful in their grant writing and fundraising pursuits. After years of failed applications, I finally unearthed the secrets of a successful arts grant application. These templates that I use have yielded me six figures of funding so I know they work.” adds Kami.

Since 2013, Kami has successfully helped many artists across Canada receive financial support for their projects. Everything from music, to film to fine art and more. In 2016, Kami’s band “Van Halst” was the first of its kind to receive a small business grant in Toronto and that’s when she became the Grant Slayer!

She has compiled all her resources into easy-to-understand workbooks. Topics include Marketing plans for musicians, marketing plans for filmmakers, and Business Plans for Musicians.

She also has a comprehensive list of all the grants available in Canada (music & film specific) available on her website and it includes live updates as they become available.

“All in all these resources have been created out of the templates that I personally use when creating my funding applications and I’m looking to share them with as many musicians as possible. Grant writing can be really jarring and I’m hoping this allows more musicians to feel confident in their ability to apply,” says Kami.

Rockshots Records – AVALAND April Tour Dates w/ Rhapsody of Fire

New Album “The Legend of the Storyteller” Out March 2023

+ Show Dates w/ Rhapsody of Fire

Ivan Castelli (Lionsoul), Angèle Macabiès, Jens Ludwig (Edguy), Bruno Ramos (Sortilège/ex-Manigance)

Fantasy symphonic power metal band France’s Avaland will be performing tour dates with Rhapsody of Fire following the release of their sophomore full-length “The Legend of the Storyteller” due out on March 31st, 2023 via Rockshots Records to follow their 2021 debut “Theater of Sorcery”.

Fans can witness Avaland‘s theatrical spectacle live with Rhapsody of Fire at the following dates:

14/04/23 – Leipzig, DE – Hellraiser
15/04/23 – Rockslide Festival – DK (Avaland no gig – just meet and greet)
16/04/23 – Hamburg, DE – Logo
18/04/23 – Lublin, PL – TBC
19/04/23 – Warsaw, PL – Proxima
20/04/23 – Vienna, AT – Viper Room
21/04/23 – Zlin, CZ – MOR Cafè
22/04/23 – San Dona, IT – Revolver
23/04/23 – Milano, IT – Legend

Compared to Avaland‘s debut album, the band’s next full-length “The Legend Of The Storyteller” is heavier and is a much more epic power metal record full of anthems upon anthems for fans to chant to as they are taken on a journey over twelve theatric tracks. The record also hears double vocal duties from Adrien G. Gzagg and Jeff Kanji along with album guests that include Zak Stevens (ex-Savatage/TSO), Madie (ex-Nightmare/Faith In Agony), Pierre “Cara” Carabalona (Eltharia), Ivan Castelli (Lionsoul), Angèle Macabiès, Jens Ludwig (Edguy) and Bruno Ramos (Sortilège/ex-Manigance).

Lead by Adrien G. Gzagg (Autor/Composer/Lead Singer/Synths and Orchestrations), the album’s storyline is a prequel to the band’s first album “Theater of Sorcery” as he explains further:

“This album, as the first one, is a journey, a trip out of our world, into the universe of Avaland. We enjoy seeing Avaland as a great saga, as a movie, or series. We feel like listening to Avaland is like watching Game Of Thrones, The Lord Of The Rings, or reading comics, it’s an escape from everyday life. For this album, we took a lot of inspiration from Game Of Thrones and Arthurian Myths. We love fantasy and mythologies and we also find ourselves having a great fascination for alchemy and esoterism. Time is also a great subject, it’s mystical… in fact, time will be at the center of this saga. This new opus is showing a heavier and darker atmosphere of Avaland’s theatrical universe. Are you ready to be part of “The Legend Of The Storyteller”?”

Avaland is recommended for fans of Savatage, Angra, Avantasia, Symphony X, and Queen.

Medevil is a highly energetic, fast-paced metal band known for their tight songwriting, intense stage presence and roaring vocals. Back in 2016, they released their debut album “Conductor of Storms” and this year they are following it up with “Mirror In The Darkness”, which is dedicated to their late drummer Chris Malcolmson whose drums are recorded on the album. The latest single off this progressive and adventurous new album is “Dead Before Birth” presented with a visualizer video. The band shares their thoughts on the opening track

“Kicking things off is Dead Before Birth, a hard-hitting opening track that begins with a drum-only intro. Featuring complex arrangements, precise timings, and vicious guitar riffs. Between the many different time signatures, dense guitar layers, and menacing chorus, “Dead Before Birth”’s goal is to be catchy while also challenging the listener. The lyrics are kept abstract, dealing in a metaphorical sense with the feelings of depression.”

The single was actually the first track they fully completed writing for the album, all the way back in 2017 with the “Conductor of Storms” lineup. The song didn’t change too much since then, but it also helped pave the way for the vibe of the album to be in a much more progressive and interesting direction than before. There are more twists that catch you off guard here, and is the perfect way to kick off “Mirror in the Darkness”. It’s probably their most complicated song rhythmically, and while they didn’t originally write this thinking it should be complex, it seemed to happen naturally with the riffs they were coming up with at the time. Somehow despite that complexity, it’s also extremely catchy.

Technical, proggy, and full of mood and atmosphere, Medevil has come a long way since its debut album. “Mirror In The Darkness” is recommended for fans of Accept, UDO, Judas Priest, and Saxon.

Listen to “Dead Before Birth” below.

“Mirror in the Darkness” comes out on April 7, 2023.

About: Medevil is a highly energetic, fast-paced metal band known for its tight songwriting, intense stage presence, and roaring vocals. They are one of the few metal bands coming out of Chilliwack BC and hold that title proud as they have earned much praise and respect since their inception in 2014. As one of the 6 national finalists of the 2015 Wacken Metal Battle Canada, they are becoming more and more renowned throughout the country; their fame attaining them a following in their local town and across through to Vancouver.

Their music could be described as “power thrash” with half of their set being chorus-driven, and the other half focusing on blistering fast riffs. Influences for the band include Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Metal Church. Their fast but catchy songs keep the crowd chanting throughout the set, and leave them wanting more. Liam Collingwood, the band’s singer, keeps the band image in theme with the songs while on stage and will wear thematic outfits when the mood demands it.

The band was founded on January 13, 2014, by Eric Wesa (bass), as well as brothers Liam (vocals) and Ross Collingwood (drums). It only took two months after the band’s inception before the boys found the ultimate guitar duo they were looking for, Gary Cordsen and Brett Gibbs. Once the lineup was solidified, they wasted no time performing shows and begin their musical journey. As a band, Medevil has two common goals; to explore their musical talents, and continue performing live for their fast-growing fanbase.

Tracks like Escape – a blustering, no-holds-barred mashup of Metal Church, Megadeth and Overkill – are just so mature, so faultlessly executed and so, well, heavy metal, it beggars belief that they are not being delivered by a band that’s been in the game for thirty years.” – Sentinel Daily (2016)

“Riding out of the cold wastes of western Canada on warhorses of steel comes Medevil with their amazing, self-released debut album Conductor of Storms. Bruising Traditional Heavy Metal is what these guys play and they play it well. Monstrous riffs and pounding, organic drums underscore the powerful vocals and intricate solos. The band has a taste for things epic, so no love songs or cliché odes to the Metal lifestyle here.” – Metal Crypt (2016)

Hotly anticipated Power/Progressive Metal band IMMORTAL GUARDIAN continue building the anticipation for their next opus, sporadically issuing new material as it completes as we head towards a late summer release of the band’s next full album. Today, the group unveils “Roots Run Deep” along with a corresponding music video. To heighten the experience the group has enlisted the services of famed vocalist Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex-Gamma Ray) who guests alongside IMMORTAL GUARDIAN singer Carlos Zema.

Recording independently and remotely the quartet is assembling the follow-up to 2021’s successful ‘Psychosomatic’ track-by-track and sharing the material as it completes, along with visually captivating music videos, that again the self-contained group produces themselves. Check out “Roots Run Deep” on all streaming/download services, or watch the clip at https://youtu.be/j7CLsJ50glo

“This Super Metal style song brings together the powerful vocals of Mr. Scheepers with Immortal Guardian’s signature sound to create an epic and inspiring anthem,” explains Carlos. “’Roots Run Deep’ takes us on a journey back to a time when we were all united before our differences and conflicts divided us. It reminds us that we all share a common history and that as a society we must learn to survive the separations and unite to conquer. With a message of hope, unity, and perseverance, ‘Roots Run Deep’ encourages us to make the world a better place. So let us embrace our shared history and let this song inspire us to make a positive change in the world. Thank you for watching this powerful and inspiring video.”

“’Roots Run Deep’ is about the levels of today’s division. Black and white, religion vs religion, left vs right, rich and poor, war and peace, etc.,” further explains guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian. “The world is so divided right now and what we want more than ever is unity. This song is about putting our differences aside and remembering that we are all humans just trying to survive. We all just want a happy life, and that would be more likely to happen if we all just agreed to disagree and respect each other and celebrate the things that make us all so different and unique.”

Heavy topics are not unfamiliar to Immortal Guardian whose previous album focused on the Covid pandemic, likely the first full album to be thematically linked to the disease and its effect on the globe and its people. In the past year, Immortal Guardian has revealed four other brand new songs including “Perfect Person,” “Ozona,” “Echoes” and “Southern Rain” forming a basis for their next conceptual piece, ‘Unite and Conquer.’ The band will continue to share new material as the creative process proceeds to build up to a new full-length album planned for late summer 2023. Watch for pre-orders soon for CDs and limited-color vinyl variants. More info will be released by Immortal Guardian and M-Theory Audio in the weeks and months to follow. https://www.facebook.com/igmetal/.

“A mega-catchy prog-power anthem (Read Between The Lines) mixed with a blend of crushing performances that’ll leave you salivating for more.” – Metal Injection

“Immortal Guardian are a band that are so technically proficient that it’s infuriating. Gabriel Guardian is, as usual, the star of Psychosomatic with his self-dueling guitar/keyboard work, but the shiny new rhythm section is right there with him. The album covers a lot of ground. It’s power metal at it’s core but some moments sound very Dethklok, while others have a bit of a Latin flare, and you’re also getting classical influences.” – Metal Injection

“Psychosomatic, an album that will likely be viewed as one of 2021’s best releases, and a landmark record for Immortal Guardian. ” – Metal Nation

““Psychosomatic” is a super catchy (Prog) Power Metal album” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“With this album (Psychosomatic) Immortal Guardian should no longer be seen as a promising band. Not only have they shown that they have an enormous compositional quality and an elite technical level, they have also shown that they are a band that faces difficulties and that they have all the will to continue. Making a high-quality second album two years after their dazzling debut tells us about the enormous inner power these musicians have.” – Metal Rules

““QUARAN-TAAAAAYN!” No matter what you think about Immortal Guardian, it’s refreshing to hear a band that plays their style while confronting modern life. Though there’s a lot of big, epic, technical stuff going on on Psychosomatic, it never devolves into a lot of bullshit about chivalry and orcs. As such, they feel poised to be the inheritors of Nevermore’s throne, a gritty power metal band who feel relevant even as they soar. Get this in your brain.” – The Pit

“If you enjoyed Age of Revolution, you are bound to be thrilled by Psychosomatic. The band continues to up their game with technical thrills, but grounds it in some darker and personal songwriting that gives it a slight edge over their previous material. An easy pick-up for those in the power/prog section.” – Dead Rhetoric

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal QC – March 21, 2023

JON OF MARS Offers A New Perspective About The Mess Of Politics In “Misinformed Nation” Off “Songs from Nowhere” (Holcomb Records) Out April 2023

Hailing from the red planet, a mysterious creature crawls forth from the farthest depths of the earth to observe the denizens of Earth to decide their ultimate fate, drawn by the curious nuance of human life he seeks to understand the human race… either to help them find salvation or destruction in their greatest and most universal creation: Music. That creature is Jon of Mars and he is the hero in this grandiose space epic that combines odd time signatures, crunchy riffs, and radical lyrics telling of Earth through an alien’s eyes. The second single off the upcoming debut album “Songs from Nowhere” is “Misinformed Nation” in which our hero uncovers the state of online politics. Vocalist and guitarist Barrett Holcomb explains:

“This is a song about the absolutely ridiculous state of American politics during the last six years and the COVID pandemic and how the internet made things so fucking bad. We decided to do a fusion song with funk as the roots. I rolled dice to decide time signatures and the BPM, so really the universe decided how this song was going to sound!”

The exhilaration and rationality of online politics isnät the only thing that this alien experiences over the course of the album, he also encounters vanity, jealousy, cannabis, and tragedy which he dictates alongside groovy prog metal.

Strange and upbeat Jon of Mars is confident that fans far and wide will love the kickass grooves and find themselves immersed in strange sound spaces. There is something for everyone, especially those who enjoy Korn, Down, and Mudvayne.

About: Having cut his teeth in the underground metal and punk scenes of Northwestern PA, Barrett Holcomb formed Jon of Mars out of a collaborative effort after having worked with Berklee Alumni and music producer Jordan Karg. From the pandemonium of the COVID-19 Pandemic Jon of Mars was forged as a musical outlet to vent trapped creativity, as the world had paused and there were no shows for this creative magma to erupt forth upon the world.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 21, 2023

Canada’s FALL OF EARTH Shares Uplifting Single “Block Out The Sun” Off New Album “From The Ashes” Out April 2023

Fall Of Earth is a Canadian hybrid metal band that incorporates elements of metalcore, death, thrash, groove, nu, and progressive combined into a sound all their own. They try to create an equilibrium between the sonic and poetic attributes within their music. They have their second album “From The Ashes” waiting in the wings, to be released this spring. The first single off this upcoming album is “Block Out The Sun”, an ode to seasonal depression and Covid 19. The band explains:

“Sick and isolated, vocalist Alex Rye did what he does best in a sour mood- Writing music. It started off sad, but slowly his core belief took over, and soon it transformed into an uplifting reminder that when you’re down you can always lean on others to rise up and shine together. It is both the shortest and most accessible track off this record. It captures a positive uplifting mood, while still having some grit and intensity mixed in. The lyrics and vocal melody were written first, so all the instruments were written to emulate the message of the song, and deliver a similar emotion.”

For Fall Of Earth, sometimes the music comes first and other times the lyrics will come first, but they execute the same emotions between both sides. They want the listener to be able to imagine the lyrics without even hearing them as if the music is elaborating on the same concept.

This new offering is less experimental than its predecessor and fans will notice that the band is solidifying into a signature sound. They have transitioned from songs with cool sections, into compositions with intent and purpose. Their music is creative and unpredictable and recommended for fans of Trivium, Gojira, and Coheed and Cambria.

About:

Narcotic Wasteland started as a side project Dallas Toler-Wade had been working on the past few years when he was not touring or in the writing/studio with metal heavyweights “Nile.”

‘So I just started writing some songs kind of more in the style of things I was playing before my time in Nile. The more we started working on these demos the more we wanted to complete an album and take it to the stage!!! Our observation of what was going on in parts of the town we grew up in and in other parts of the world fueled a new level of angst for me personally.” DTW

“The song (Victims of the Algorithm) takes on lightning-fast and heavy riffs, in the tradition of the band, and the lyrics tackle our dependence on social media in the modern age.” – Decibel Magazine

“Dallas-Toler Wade, back with the riffs. (The Best Times Have Passed) – Metal Injection

The track “Keres” tells the story of the Keres or the goddesses of violent death. The Keres would be summoned by Zeus to kill those not yet deemed ready to die by their sisters, who are called the Moirai (Sisters of Fate).

Hailing from the Midwest, USA, deathcore act Abaddonia got together back in 2019 and after pandemic delays they released their debut EP “Dawn of the Serpent” on March 3rd.

“Dawn of the Serpent” is, to an extent, an opening and closing of a chapter for Abaddonia. They had pieces of what remained on this EP back when they started, but thanks to the pandemic, things were indefinitely put on hold. They shifted from a personal-lyric project that focused on personal aspects to embracing that tarot, witchy, dark stuff that they were using their branding for. “Dawn of the Serpent” marks a new horizon beyond what they once viewed as their horizon. They comment:

“We are elated to be unveiling our debut musical compilation “Dawn of the Serpent”. With this, we hope to bring music that can be used interchangeably throughout the day. We hope that people can listen to every single track at their altars, at the gym, at work through their headphones, anything. We want to offer something polished, but still containing some raw elements. Storytelling, but with emotion. This album helped us find our identity, and we hope to accurately tell that story to all of our followers.”

Abaddonia says that they think this is a great starting point for them and that there are definite building blocks rooted in the foundation of this EP that will carry into their more solidified sound as they grow into it. Atmospheric, brooding, and unique “Dawn of the Serpent” offers a wide, but consistent sound that is consumable to a diverse audience, but is also something capable of being held sacred to a particular niche of metal-heads into occult vibes. It is recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, and Aversions Crown.

“Dawn of the Serpent” is now available on all digital platforms at https://linktr.ee/abaddonia and Abaddonia.bandcamp.com
