Mosh your way to the forest of thrash where the Coven awaits for you to join “The Serpent’s Cycle”, the latest music video for the title track from Vancouver’, BC’s Hyperia forthcoming third full-length out on November 17th.

“This is the first song that was fully written for the album. It is a heavy and unrelenting track that encompasses everything Hyperia is about – intricate guitar work, heavy-hitting bass, fast drums, and wailing powerful vocals, a perfect title track to show what the album is all about.” adds the band.

Hyperia’s new thrash attack “The Serpent’s Cycle” marks a new era for Hyperia. This album has some of the most aggressive thrash metal the band has ever written paired with lots of melodic vocal and guitar work along with a new invigorating lineup that welcomes Ryan Idris on drums and Jon Power on bass to join husband and wife Colin and Marlee Ryley. It consists of everything Hyperia stands for shred, speed, and intricacy.

Hyperia wants fans to have their faces blown off by “The Serpent’s Cycle”. The ten-track album (plus a cover of Heart’s ‘Crazy On You’) will be appreciated by musicians and non-musicians alike. The songs vary enough to keep the pacing fresh throughout and there’s something for everyone on it.

Prepare to have your senses shattered as Canada’s Display Of Decay unveils the chaos and power that can only be found in death metal in their sixth album “Vitriol” due out on Friday, October 20th from Gore House Productions.

Before it is officially unleashed, you can check out the whole album via its full-stream premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

The eight tracks on “Vitriol” will take listeners through distorted riffs colliding with thunderous percussion, creating a maelstrom of sound that leaves no room for compromise. The lyrical content covers a variety of topics ranging from pop culture references like Diablo & Mass Effect to darker undertones of acts of senseless violence and brutality. The band explains more:

“At long last, we are excited to finally announce our long-awaited new record and 6th installment into the discography, Vitriol! This album took a lot of the technical elements of ‘Art in Mutilation’ and blended them with the classic ‘DOD’ style of ‘bang your head, groovy riffs.’ I believe this album follows the trajectory our style has grown over the years, whilst still paying homage to the first few records of our discography.”

“Vitriol” was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and assistant mix engineer Dominic Grimard. The cover art was done by Caelan Stokkermans with graphic design by Logan Wilson. The writing process consists of Sean Watson (Guitar – Vocals) and Brandon Siefert (Bass) slinging riffs back and forth, and getting a rough layout done to bring to the table. With the return of Logan Wilson halfway through the process, it’s become more of a unified process. ‘Familial Feast’ as an example, was written while they were tracking the record, and after they ended up scrapping a tune halfway through the recording process, this one came together extremely well.

“Vitriol” was born of rage and spite fueled further by the chaos and uncertainty felt worldwide over the last few years. It is recommended for fans of Pantera, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse.

Progressive rockers RAISED BY HAZE will be releasing their debut album “Touch The Sky” this coming November on Rockshots Records. Unveiling their first single “Prediction” (https://youtu.be/mDqH-GNcHLk), this past September, the band has their next introduction in the lead-up to their first full-length with the second single “Freedom”.

Guitarist Gabriele Robotti explains the song in further detail:

“‘Freedom’ is more than just a song – it’s a journey into the core of Raised By Haze’s musical philosophy. The lyrics, masterfully crafted by Valentina, delve into personal experiences and perspectives on life. In the track, my influences related to American rock from the ’90s and 2000s emerge, from Alice In Chains to Alter Bridge to Linkin Park, with the progressive vein surfacing in the song’s 7/4 time signature special section”

“The foundational matrix for this album is arguably progressive rock and metal, with Dream Theater being the band that ignited my passion for playing the guitar during my childhood. However, the primary objective I set for myself with this album was to amalgamate all my influences, spanning from bands like Pink Floyd and Linkin Park to Pantera and Alter Bridge, and from classic 70s rock to modern progressive metal (including Opeth, Periphery, and Between The Buried And Me). With their latest album “The Kvlt of Glitch”, Canada’s VVON DOGMA I is set to cement their status as a band that is unafraid to take risks and push boundaries. The album is a visceral and immersive listening experience, with songs that take unexpected twists and turns and showcase the band’s impressive musicianship. Fans of experimental rock and avant-garde music will want to dig into this release, especially the latest video for the track “Lithium Blue”, which 9-string bassist and founder Chaoth explains further:

“I just love that track, “Lithium Blue”. It was on the “Communion” EP but I felt like it needed a better production so I gave it a second chance and brought it in the studio and I love the result. From intricate high tapping patterns to the most caveman djent riff, it’s so satisfying.”

“The Kvlt of Glitch” is Chaoth paying tribute to every period of different influences that he had in his life, from 90’s alternative and nu-metal to modern electronic and ambient music and everything in between. For him, it’s very freeing to be the main songwriter because you don’t have to fight for your ideas, whatever goes so, this is a glimpse of his psyche. Lyrically, the album is very much fueled by dark feelings that have been following him his whole life.

Chaoth struggled to find the right people for the band until he enlisted drummer Kevin Alexander as a creative partner which brought his vision to the next level. Alexander embodies the balls and attitude that the outfit needs to feel right. And then Yoan MP joined on guitars and his old-time collaborator Blaise Borboën added some spice to it and produced the first EP. With this lineup, fans can expect a barrage of synthetic sound, impressive riffs, and melancholic dissonance. The album is recommended for fans of Unprocessed, Meshuggah, and Igorrr.

It’s getting near… There’s something eerie lurking in the dark trenches of Lawrence, KS’ underground metal scene that is ready to rip through hell’s gate and present a night of horror and metal just before Halloween this year.

On Saturday, October 21st, the inaugural Lawrence Metal Massacre will be unleashing a behemoth of hell hounds with eleven bands taking the stage at The Bottleneck (737 New Hampshire St.) in Lawrence, KS. The all-day all-ages event kicks off at 12 pm local time and features some of Kansas’ and Missouri’s up-and-coming heavy hitters with headliners Dreams In Peril, a five-piece groove-driven and dynamic death metal/hardcore act out of Kansas City. Combining crushing grooves with cinematic soundscape melodies, the band brings a huge dynamic that fans will witness live. You can watch their latest music video “Ascending” on YouTube. With a fresh lineup and a new musical direction, London, ON’s ATRIA have been baring their knuckles and punching down the concrete walls in all directions by touring all across Ontario this past summer and they have no plans on stopping with their latest announcement of shows this coming October and November, which includes opening support for death metal titans Katakysm in Kingston, ON alongside Sovereign Council and Pound of Flesh.

To get fans pumped for their upcoming show dates and for those who have yet to check out their latest EP “Ground Zero” released this past August, ATRIA is sharing their new music video for the title track, which is about the moment that you first pray to God and realize that there will never be an answer.

Vocalist Tom Emmans explains the track and video further:

“The video was filmed at a place called Light is Art by Joe Lyko from Dark Moon Productions. The song is about the first time you pray and realize that no one is going to answer. Joe captured how terrifying that can be with the lighting by playing off of our image, specifically the contacts. We tried to capture the fear of losing God. We tried to make the scariest video that anyone will see this year.”

Atria’s new EP “Ground Zero” gets very personal to exorcise the darkness of the mind, the frustrations of life, and battling your inner demons. Led lyrically by vocalist Tom Emmans, the EP is his personal outlet to express his observations of the world. He explains further:

“I find myself in a world that I barely believe in, I try to be hopeful when I can but at the end of the day, we’re all just a little broken. I am expressing the broken side so I can be healthy when I walk off stage. It’s therapeutic and cathartic, but it’s really hard. It comes from a real place and it’s not always fun. Musically, for this record, it’s definitely gotten more aggressive, we always wanted to blend a lot of melodies and an anthemic chorus’ with brutality. I feel like the fans will agree that on this new one, we’ve gotten much better at doing that.”

Teaming up once again with producer Jon Howard (Threat Signal), and a new lineup that features Jerad Sterling (Tortured Saint) on drums, Brody King on lead guitar, and bassist Jake Fortney to join founding members vocalist Tom Emmans (Odium, Deathpoint, Choices, Scaithe) and guitarist Tim Ross, “Ground Zero” is an anthemic five track jolt of crushing infectious metalcore.

On the road for their first coast-to-coast Canada Tour of 2023 and the fourth of the year since touring across Eastern Canada earlier this year in support of their sophomore album “From the Ashes” released this past April, Edmonton’s Fall Of Earth is devastated to announce the postponement of the remaining dates of their “Road To Purgatory Tour” due to an unexpected family emergency.

Combining the anthemic melodies of traditional and power metal, the precise, aggressive attack of thrash, and twists of dark intensity borrowed from second-wave black metal, Jersey, USA’s Mindrazer plays a style as familiar as it is fresh. Their debut album, “A Thing of Nightmares” (Produced by Kevin Antreassian – The Dillinger Escape Plan) is out today, Friday the 13th via label Misanthropic Records and to complement its release is a music video for the first track “Entombed In Time”. The band shares their thoughts:

“Every song offers something different. We took the inverse of the AC/DC approach. We grew up in the playlist era, albums can’t be the same anymore. Every song has to keep the listener on edge and bring something new to the table to keep people from going to something else. “Entombed in Time” is moody, epic, and contemplative. It is supposed to make the hairs on your arm stand up and give you that rush that makes you throw yourself in the pit.“

Mindrazer‘s latest offering promises to be a bold, brutal, and diverse exploration of melodic thrash metal, which even before its official release, was igniting mosh pits at the band’s live shows. Now, with the album’s imminent launch, fans can delve into the depths of these tracks and experience them in all their glory.

The writing for the tracks on the album spans a large period of evolution which can be heard as one progresses through the album. “Knightfall”, the earliest work, is much more power metal, upbeat, and melodic. “Better Dead”, another early song, is very riff-focused and old-school sounding. “Crusader” and “Suffer In Silence”, the later tracks on the record are great examples of how that power metal vibe never really left but the music got heavier and more technical. Each of the ten tracks offers epic melodies and frenetic dynamics that metalheads will be eager to sink their teeth into. “A Thing of Nightmares” is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Blind Guardian.
