0 KILL NO ALBATROSS Premiere New Video “Apex Predator”; New EP “Speak True Evil” Out July 13th

NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – June 8, 2018

Canadian Alt-Metal Rock KILL NO ALBATROSS Premiere New Video “Apex Predator” via SpaceUntravel
New EP “Speak True Evil” Out July 13th

For wildly energetic Burlington, ON based KILL NO ALBATROSS, intertwining the accessibility of rock, the technicality of prog, and the energy of hardcore is the name of the game. Through intelligent songwriting, creative guitar work, and emotional intensity, they meld dynamic, bold, bewitching sounds to create no holds barred rock.
2018 started with a bang, as the band performed as part of Canadian Music Week and attained coveted slots on the Vans Warped Tour and Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival. That momentum will continue when their forthcoming EP, “Speak True Evil” is released on July 13th, 2018. Going forward, the band intends to expand the dynamics of their unique sound, traversing softer and heavier territory without compromising the meticulousness they are becoming known for. They are excited to develop as musicians and a band along with touring their home country and bringing their signature wild energy to every stage along the way.
The band comments:
“Speak True Evil is a showcase for Kill No Albatross’ dynamic, technically proficient, intellectual approach to rock music. These four songs cover musical ground that ranges from furious to sweet, hopeful to agonized. The powerful vocals of Kyle Collins pair with the tight, impassioned instrumentation to create a unique sound that is as meticulous as it is robust. Going more in depth on the release, it plays off the title of Wayne Shorter’s 1966 jazz record “Speak No Evil”; “Speak True Evil” asserts the legitimacy of free speech as asserted by thinkers like Mill, Paine, Luxemburg, and Hitchens. As Mill writes, ‘If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.’ After all, it is as much the right of the listener to hear as it is the speaker to talk – enforced silence imprisons man in the cage of his own perspective. The title, then, encourages listeners to speak true evil.”
Leading up to the release of “Speak True Evil”, KNA has teamed up with SpaceUntravel for the premiere of their new music video for their first single “Apex Predator”.
The band adds:
“Apex Predator” is the angriest song on the record. Driven by a heavy guitar riff and ferocious drums, the song features a catchy chorus and a wild bridge, and showcases the harsher side of Kyle Collins’ vocals. To better embody the emotional lilt of the song – anger is at once uninhibited and, on some level, embarrassing – the band recorded the song naked.”

Lost Nebula from Hermosillo, Mexico brings their original powerful metal to Canada for the first time in July. Born in 2013, Lost Nebula was formed from the remnants of a project that bassist Harry Gonzales began years earlier. Rich with style and composition their sound can be described as melodic, mysterious and powerful. No stranger to the stage they have several festivals and tours on their resume, both locally and internationally, and have released two albums and three music videos. Each song has different passages on it, yet the style the band has to offer is still recognizable. Nice and listenable, but it can even satisfy cravings in the heavy echelon of metal. Now the band is set to conquer Canada, trekking across the country from West to East to share their flavour of progressive power metal with fans.

About:
Harry (bass), before starting Lost Nebula, had a progressive rock project named EVA, which after being dissolved left some ideas for new songs. Harry continued working over these ideas, and eventually he reunited with Quetzalin (vocals), so they could write the lyrics and melodies for the vocals in order to finish the songs and record them. During the writing process, the wish of becoming a serious band was revived with plans to tour, and to record material to share it with the world, a band to simply enjoy the art of making music. That’s when Julio (guitar) and two others were recruited to complete the band. That line produced two albums, Qualia EP (2014) and Stories Set in the Future (2016) but 2017 saw Alex taking on guitar duties and José on drums. The single Time Travel Parania was released March of 2018 ahead of the band’s first tour of Canada.
In reference to the bands drive, Harry quotes: “It was very important for us to not leave a song without a meaning, a message, and something positive to be left within the listener. We are also inspired in the huge amounts of negativity heard in the media, we believe we have the mission of delivering positivity through our music.”

A true spectacle to be witnessed, Lords of the Trident is a daring adventure metal quintet that has been delighting their audiences and fans all over the world for ten years. Reaching their goal of $8,000 with rewards that includes merch, video games, lessons from band members, festival tickets, and private concerts, the band is now calling out to fans to help them make their extra stretch goals, which includes multi-color custom guitar picks with every physical order, a red blood double vinyl (included in any over $100 pledge or $25 added to any already made pledge) and full color zip up hoodies (design TBA) (for any pledge of over $250 or $50 added to any already made pledge).

With a lengthy history of enchanting fans with outrageous theatrical events with plenty of crowd participation, Lords of the Trident have donned their cloaks and armor to lay the groundwork for their most enthusiastic sojourn yet.
Fang VonWrathenstein shares his excitement:
“This album is our most ambitious musical work to date, and the first album with our new members Baron Helleshaar and Master Herc. Fans who have been with us for a while will notice that our new songs are a bit more complex, and our songwriting continues to mature. The new songs are definitely still Lords songs, but explore some new musical themes. I believe the new album will be our strongest offering yet, and contain some songs that are sure to be fan favorites going forward.”
The band has partnered with the video game Coffee Crisis in which they will be featured in as NPCs (non-playable characters) and will provide a song for one of the levels. The kickstarter goes live June 1 and will run for the period of a month with a financial goal of $6000 USD. In return the band offers supporters a wide variety of band merch, copies of Coffee Crisis, private music lessons with band members, private concerts, and tickets to Mad With Power festival in Madison, Wisconsin. The album will be released digitally and on physical CD on Friday, August 24th along with it being performed for the first time ever the following day at Mad With Power festival on Saturday, August 25th. Fans that support Lords of the Trident through Patreon will have access to exclusive rewards tiers.

BIO:
Since climbing out of a volcano in 2008, shrouded in metal and ash, Lords of the Trident have gone to battle on many stages across the USA, playing and headlining a plethora of festivals and have an admirable arsenal of recordings in their inventory. The Lords of The Trident have released three full albums: “Death or Sandwich” (2009), “Chains on Fire” (2011), “Frostburn” (2015) , three EPs: “Plan of Attack” (2013), “A Very Lords of the Trident Christmas” (2014), “Re:Quests” (2015), and two live DVDs, along with numerous compilation singles.
Their live shows include medieval costumes, pyrotechnics, confetti cannons, guitars set ablaze, and of course, excellent technical musicianship that challenges the standard for how live music should be experienced. Citing influences such as Iron Maiden, Scar Symmetry and Judas Priest, and embracing lyrical themes inspired by great battles, conquests, dragon-fighting, virtual reality, and out-of-control robots Lords of the Trident dish out face-melting power that is enjoyed by fans of all races and classes.

“Clearly influenced by power metal in the vein of Helloween, Hammerfall, and countless others that could be named here, LOTT are clearly in their element performing power metal and killing it. Fang, aka Ty Christian, has a quality to his voice that reminds me so much of Niklas Isfeldt, formerly of Dream Evil. But when he has to, he can get up there and really wail away with all the confidence in the world. Guitarists Asian Metal and Killius Maximus have got the power metal chops down perfectly. With the twin melodies they create and then the speed, it’s clear these guys can play the instruments with more than an amateur proficiency. 4/5” – Greg Watson, Maximum Metal (January 15th, 2017)
“Overall, Lords Of The Trident’s third album is a solid alternative to those who feel that the power metal legends such as Helloween have faltered on their most recent efforts. The Plan Of Attack EP may be the band’s strongest moment but Frostburn is a strong recommendation to those still unfamiliar with the band’s methods of madness. One can sense that the band is on the cusp of something truly inspiring.” – Chris Latta, Psychic Shorts (December 7th, 2015)
“Fans of power metal should definitely checkout Frostburn. The record is very energetic as well as very well made. Lords of the Trident as a band have a lot of character, talent and seeing what they do after this could be quite interesting. 8/10” – Steven Lornie, Demonzone (October 13th, 2015)
“Instead of trying to become copycats of a great band of the 80’s, they fuse their influences and filter them under their own personality and because of that they manage to craft a sound that is old school and yet has fresh ideas and a certain originality. I think that I won’t exaggerate if I say that “Frostburn” is one of the best heavy metal releases of this year that shine because of their maturity, enthusiasm and creativity. 8.5/10” – Nick “Verkaim” Parastatidis, Behind The Veil Webzine (August 5th, 2015)
“Track to track, the Lords of the Trident’s Frostburn is nothing short of a power metal masterpiece that everyone who enjoys this type of music needs to hear. That being said, the album lives up to the band’s claim of being “the most metal band on earth” and given time, they just might rival the long reigning kings of metal themselves. Look out Manowar, the Lords of the Trident are coming for your crown. 10/10” – Brett Kihlmire, Metal At the Gates (July 12th, 2015)
