0 CREATURES Update Ontario Tour Dates + New EP “II” Out Now!

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 8, 2018

For fans of Angelmaker, Carnifex, Veil of Maya, Impending Doom, Upon A Burning Body

CREATURES Update Ontario Tour Dates + New EP “II” Out Now!

CREATURES “II” Ontario Tour:
August 12 – Toronto, ON – The Rockpile
August 16 – Barrie, ON – Foxx Lounge – info
August 17 – Toronto, ON – Bovine – info
August 19 – Hamilton, ON – The Doors Pub – info
August 20 – Brantford, ON – Our Place – info

L-R = Christian Roman – Bass, Vic Borowski – Guitar, Rob Esposito – Vocals, Nick Galati – Guitar, Tj MacKay – Drums

Spawned in the Toronto murk in 2015, CREATURES is a group effort with a long history that intertwines the lives of numerous local bands to summon a truly devastating soundscape of unbridled chaos. Inspired by bands such as Necrophagist, Despised Icon and Thy Art Is Murder, CREATURES is a 6 piece band playing heavy and catchy deathcore, taking intense sounds and mixing in small elements of extreme and black metal.

Almost immediately after forming, CREATURES released a 4 track self-titled EP. A varied sampling of the musical talents from the band helped them gain the interest of fans in the local scene and they played several shows with great reception. Taking great pride in live performances, Creatures embodies all the aspects of showmanship with high energy and audience involvement.

Three years later, in 2018, they unleashed their second offering the “II” EP unto the world through their own independent label Old Haunt Records on July 20th. The songs reach into a large porcelain cup of topics and instead of just merely presenting their themes to their listeners, CREATURES smashes the cup in their faces, making sure their themes cut deep and stay with the listeners. Whether they are lyrics about the futility of existence with a cartoon metaphor, or the bond of brotherhood within an intense party setting, there is a message for everyone to latch onto. Regardless, the songs are a visceral insight into the band’s life.

The band comments:

“The ‘Creatures II’ EP as a whole is the ideas and thoughts over the past year. We are expecting this release to be even better received than the last EP. We worked twice as hard on ‘II’ and had a few new people along the way that really helped add an outside perspective to the creative processes for a more mature and heavy sound. We really just want to create a seamless listening experience for the fans, leaving them wanting more, and left with the feeling of needing to listen to the EP over and over again.”

EP available for download and stream on Bandcamp and Spotify.

“II is five tracks long and flys by in an instant as barbaric riffs, bitter vocals, mind-bending breakdowns and a constant feeling of desperation wrap around you. This is not an EP for the faint of heart as Creatures have a habit of jumping out at you in an attempt to startle you.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“a bridge between Mathcore and Deathcore! Interesting combination.” – Heavy Metal New York

“With a year gone by with some amazing Deathcore albums, this year has been a little bleak. Not to worry though, this little jewel is here. To get straight to the point, this band’s style is absolute and true to their promise, for their influences scream out the best traits of both Carnifex and Angelmaker….This is an easy 8/10. Deathcore the way it should be.” – PIG SQUEALS AND BREAKDOWNS
“This is heavy and catchy deathcore, incredibly intense, which also brings in elements of extreme and black metal. Inspired by bands such as Necrophagist, Despised Icon and Thy Art Is Murder, this is one heck of an EP.” – Frame Music

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 8, 2018

For fans of Dethklok, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D,
Weird Al Yankovic, Primus, Stephen Lynch, Mr. Bungle

PSYCHOSTICK Top #1 On Billboard Charts and More!

Surprised Fans With New Album “DO”

North American Tour Dates w/ Mushroomhead & Urizen

Surprising fans with their new album “DO” during their live webcast on Twitch on July 24th (watch the video https://youtu.be/fKUKEiQXS7M), the kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK are excited to comment on its #1 debut on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart along with ranking at #14 for Hard Rock Album, #39 for Rock Album, #39 for Independent Albums and #9 for Heatseekers Albums for the week of August 11th.

“DOWN WITH PRE-ORDERS! The simplicity of the surprise release was refreshing. We make album. We enjoy making album. We put out album. Fans enjoy album. DONE. Now let’s order a pizza or something, studio sleep deprivation makes me hungry.”

PSYCHOSTICK ranked on the following Billboard Charts for the week of August 11th. Charts info here.

#1 Comedy Albums
#14 Hard Rock Album Sales
#39 Rock Album Sales
#39 Independent Albums
#9 Heatseekers Albums
#6 Heatseekers East North Central
#6 Heatseekers West North Central
#7 Heatseekers Mountain

It only took four years for “DO” to surprise fans and follow PSYCHOSTICK’s extremely fan loved “IV: Revenge of The Vengeance”. And it wasn’t because they were lazy… NO! But because these geniuses of blending comedy, metal, heavy rock and the occasional spoof cover have been super busy releasing viral videos and touring the world.

“DO” may have passed by fans quickly, but it’s sure to impress and continue PSYCHOSTICK‘s reign as one of the funniest band’s to listen and laugh to. The album features over an hour of variety of laugh track headbanging tunes including singles “Adulting”, because who really wants to grow up and “From The Heart”, a ballad for those you really dislike.

The band comments:

“Whelp, here it is! “Do.” This whole “surprise, nerd! New album!” experiment was extremely fun, and we’re beyond appreciative of your patience and understanding. We agree with you – four years is way too long. We hope to fix that despite what Murph says!

“Do” is our first 100% independent, label-free release since 2003! Our production process is still completely internal, but this time all profits go straight to Psychostick. This is extremely huge for us and we can’t thank you enough.

2018 marked the fifteenth anniversary of our first album, and we’re beyond excited that we’re still kickin’, making globs upon globs of comedy metal. We aim to do this until they kick us out of the old folks’ home or off of Mars. That’s right. We’re goin’ to Mars, damnit.”

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, and a style of music they’ve coined as ‘humorcore’. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released five full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014), ‘DO’ (2018) —and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic), Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!
