Returning for its 6th edition after another year of crowd-pleasing epic fun in Vancouver, B.C., Canada’s premier melodic and power metal festival HYPERSPACE METAL FEST announces the addition of Symphonic Metal Storytellers, Minneapolis’ AfterTime to their 2025 lineup to replace the unfortunate cancelation of OwlBear.

Since their inception in 2011, AfterTime has been perfecting a potent blend of Symphonic Metal and orchestral film scores. Their songs are larger-than-life and unapologetically epic, with a special focus on adventurous storytelling and marvelous atmospheres. This past September, the band announced Narcissa as their new vocalist and released a version of their song “Sons of Fenrir” with her on vocals. The track is from their latest album “Arcane Horizons” released in May 2024. Video – “Sons of Fenrir” – https://youtu.be/8q-JD0PCLPI

Festival organizer Joey Hockin of Journeyman Productions adds:

“This time of year is always hectic for us, and this year is no exception. Owlbear has been forced to pull out of the lineup this year. For more info on that, watch for a statement from them on their page. In their place, we will have the epic AfterTime from Minneapolis! They’ll be playing Vancouver for the very first time on day 3 of Hyperspace and we can’t wait!”

Being hosted at The Cobalt (April 10 &11th) and the Rickshaw Theatre (April 12th), Hyperspace Metal Fest’s 2025 lineup features headliners ENFORCER, PSYCHOSTICK, Greyhawkalong with Crimson Shadows, Lunar, AfterTime, Tower Hill, Solarus, Red Cain, Tylor Dory Trio, Serpent Rider, Luminator, The Astral Prophets and Crüzer.

Headlining Saturday, April 12th at The Rickshaw Theatre, Sweden’s ENFORCER have proved themselves both live and on record, they stake their place amongst the world’s most renowned heavy metal bands since first forming in 2005. They have toured the world over, playing the biggest festivals and garnering a global fanbase. Their latest sixth studio album Nostalgia (released May 2023 – Nuclear Blast), features 13 heavy metal anthems and throws ENFORCER back to their speed metal roots. Fusing extreme guitar riffing with catchy stadium choruses, ENFORCER is out to conquer the world. Music Video – Nostalgia – https://youtu.be/XhfrJAPbOCY

Supporting ENFORCER on the closing night lineup will be Comedy Metal Kings PSYCHOSTICK. These humorcore titans bring forth a nostalgic escapade of sing-alongs and moshing fun with iconic titles such as “Beer!”, “Numbers (I Can Only Count to Four)”, “Dogs Like Socks”, “Obey The Beard!”, “Boobs”, and their latest single “Ultra Mega Fast” – https://youtu.be/kaqeizvxefM

Friday, April 11th, the second-night lineup will also witness the return of the formidable force that is Toronto’s Crimson Shadows bringing forth tales of fantasy and warfare in their fierce melodic power and death metal-imbued sound. Thundering across the icy Canadian mountains, Crimson Shadows has awoken after five years away. The band has emerged from the dark and is preparing to forge its own path in this next stage of its journey. Across their defiant career stretching almost two decades, to date notable highlights of Crimson Shadows‘ journey include the band’s appearance at Wacken Open Air in Germany in mid-2013 and subsequent victory in obtaining the title of International Wacken Battle Champions. Alongside international performances, Crimson Shadows has ventured across the length and breadth of their homeland delivering brutality, technical prowess, and unyielding intensity in their melding of power and death.

Headlining Friday, April 11th at The Cobalt and returning for their third time at HMF is Seattle’s Greyhawk stepping in at the last minute to headline night 2 of Hyperspace this year. With new singer Anthony Corso, Greyhawk is ready to bring the power with what is sure to be their best performance at Hyperspace yet! Anyone who has seen this traditional heavy metal titan before knows that they are in for an incredible set. Their newest album “Thunderheart” released in April 2024 on Fighter Records, a division of Xtreem Music has been making waves across the heavy metal and power metal scenes worldwide.

Also featured on the Friday night lineup is the first-ever live performance from Lunar, a progressive metal project from California that features members from Helion Prime, Beholder, Vis Mystica, Mokili Wa, Nordic Frost, Outloud, and Double Vision. Founded by drummer Alex Bosson (Helion Prime, Planeswalker) and Ryan Erwin who passed away in 2018, LUNAR continues in his memory. Their fourth full-length “Tempora Mutantur” was released on January 31st via Saibot Reigns Records to follow 2023’s “The Illusionist” and features a fresh lineup with the addition of guitarists Carlos Alvarez and Connor McCray (Vis Mystica) along with keyboardist Anthony Stahl plus album guests Wayne Ingram (Wildrun), Joe Gullace (Thank You Scientist) and Sam Vallen (Caligula’s Horse). Music Video – Watch The Weather Change – https://youtu.be/WKdnZD_DJsE

Meant to perform on the 2024 lineup, but forced to cancel, Tylor Dory Trio returns for 2025, they are a monstrous progressive metal unit and beloved by many in Western Canada. This live performance on Friday, April 11th, will be their first following a nearly seven-year layoff. Music Video – The Waitress – https://youtu.be/nh9MxcSqlOE

Also added to the Friday lineup and opening that night is The Astral Prophets, a psychedelic rock/metal band from Calgary, AB featuring Apprentice, Lycanthro, and Scythia members. This is the band’s first time on the fest although some members have played the fest before in previous groups. They will be supporting their latest 2023 EP “Anywhere But Here”. EP Stream – https://youtu.be/255g8CZX2F8

Opening night of the festival, Thursday, April 10th at The Cobalt, will showcase the Pacific Northwest’s Glyph, which is not just a heavy metal band, they are a crew of intergalactic mercenaries escaping a dying planet in their spaceship, the VSS Dragonlord. Clearly, Glyph isn’t just writing songs, they’re building worlds and they bring it forth in their latest album “Honor, Power, Glory” released this past March. Music Video – March of the Northern Clan – https://youtu.be/htSyUb25wD4

Traveling from Edmonton, AB, Tower Hill delivers premium old-school heavy metal inspired by bands like Running Wild, Riot, Judas Priest, early Blind Guardian, and Helloween. Forging the best of the late 80s and early 90s German, British, and US metal scenes into a new blend of shimmering steel, Tower Hill’s riff-driven, hook-laden traditional metal will have you banging your head and singing along. Lyric Video – Deathstalker – https://youtu.be/IGybnd-HZRU

Replacing the originally announced Lost Nebula, Calgary’s RED CAIN has been imported to perform their power-prog storytelling with Eastern European roots for the masses. They have been making waves since their first release in 2016, with award-winning music videos and concept albums “Kindred: Act I”, “Kindred: Act II” and “NÄE’BLISS”. The albums contained a ton of genre inspirations, from gothic rock to ambient electronica, power, black, and death metal, and were universally lauded for their inventiveness, variety, and strong conceptual content. They continue this momentum with the latest singles “Firestarter” and “Demons II”. Music Video – Demons II – https://youtu.be/7VViLOrFfQ8

EPK – PHEAR – Save Our Souls (2025)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

For fans of Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Dream Theater (Prog elements), Metallica

“Very excited to finally release the latest Phear Album!!!!! 4 years in the making.
This album was pretty much written and recorded over the COVID-19 pandemic, thus the duration of this project.  The bulk of this record was written at our own houses individually. When the restrictions were lifted, we were able to get together and craft them into the songs you hear today. We shot the videos before the album was completed. We would go into the studio and do 3 songs at a time. We were very excited to work with Jon Howard (Threat Signal) again. Jon is the sixth member of Phear. The studio experience was great as we fed off each other’s ideas. We pushed each other to get the best performances we could.  Despite COVID-19, it was our best work and best environment thus far. I can’t wait for the next Album….lol!!!” – Patrick Mulock – Vocals – PHEAR

““The Curse Lives On is a testimonial to what power / thrash metal can do to your soul, deep, dark and loud. just crank it up and feel the Phear.” – Bravewords  (2020 – The Curse Lives On)

“PHEAR have so much potential and really reminded of bands like NEVERMORE, EIDOLON and late eighties FATES WARNING. You have a top notch singer and a great backing band, they have a lot of potential that’s for sure. A band to look out for in 2020!” – Metal Temple (2020 – The Curse Lives On)

“With the sonic power of IRON MAIDEN, blended with the classic style of JUDAS PRIEST, PHEAR bring to life their monster live shows to the ears of fans across the globe.” – KNAC (2020 – The Curse Lives On)

“The live songs were recorded in Toronto and this recording shows that the band seems to be able to deliver a live show like any good seasoned band. There are good interactions with the crowd, just enough to show a frontman able to get them going without being overbearing and breaking the flow of the show. One can’t help but smile when he goes, “Scream for me Toronto!” in very Bruce Dickinson fashion. I wish I head heard the originals but suffice it to say that their songwriting style is very much influenced by Maiden, though much closer to their post-reunion output that any of the classic ’80s stuff. Bottom line, this is over an hour of cool material kind of anonymized by a nondescript name. Worth checking out if you’re into newer Maiden. This is a band that might go places if they play their cards right. 4/5″ – The Metal Crypt (2020 – The Curse Lives On)

“If you are looking for some great classic sounding metal with fantastic vocals, amazing guitar work, give Phear a listen by checking out both Insanitarium and The Curse Lives On, both available now and catch them live when you get the chance. I guarantee you’ll love it all.” – Metal Master Kingdom

“Mixing the components of the NWOBHM era, blending them and sculpting them around their sound, making this offering by the Canadan-quintet a must in the air-guitar collection.” Metal Temple (2019 – Insanitarium)

“Mississauga-based Phear packs quite a punch on its debut full-length release, Insanitarium, The band’s brand of power/thrash metal is a perfect blend of melody and ferocity.” – Bravewords  (2019 – Insanitarium)

=============================================

About The Album Artwork:
The “Save Our Souls” album artwork is an apocalyptic world with our Mascots: Phred and Regan admiring their handy work as they walk through the Chaos they have created.

About the Album (Lyrically and Musically)
…… In a word….”HEAVY”!!! Clearly, this is the heaviest offering from us to date.  The Lyrics except for “Lease on Life” are mostly “Dark”. Remember, most of these songs were written during Covid. Not a lot to be happy about during this time.

Track By Track:

1. “AFTERSHOCK”
This song is about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.). With wars taking place overseas and in the past, the mental illness that follows is greater than it has ever been. My Father was in World War 2 and the Korean War, so we used to talk about it from time to time.

2. “SAVE OUR SOULS”
Ahhh the title track! This song is written about the state of our world today. In my many years here, I have never seen such division and fear before…. The video is a metaphor.

3. “SNAKE”
Contrary to the video screens, this song is not about snakes…. It is about self-reflection and self-awareness. It’s about changing yourself…… Shedding your old skin for new skin

4. “NARCOSYNTHESIS”
This song is a cover from Nevermore. You would have to ask Jeff Loomis.

5. “NEW WORLD ERROR”
This song deals with all the terrible atrocities going on in the world today. Humans are sometimes the plague of humanity.

6. “LEASE ON LIFE”
The most positive song on the album. This is about personal change. Take your life back, make the changes, and move forward as the new and improved you!

7. “BLEED”
Bleed is about lost connections. Some can be mended, and some are lost forever. Maybe there will be a day when enemies can come together and purge the demons of their past.

8. “ON THIN ICE”
This song deals with all the crazy thoughts going on in human heads and the fine line between sanity and insanity…..The human race is on thin ice.

9. “DELUSIONS”
Delusions is a live track recorded in Toronto, CANADA. It’s a bonus track to thank all the fans who come to see us live.

=====================================================

Live Lineup – PHEAR – Alex Zubair – Guitar, Pat Rogers – Guitar, Chris Boshis – Bass Guitar / Backing Vocals, Andrew Suarez – Drums, Patrick Mulock – Vocals

Canadian metal contingent PHEAR will unleash their second full-length album “Save Our Souls” on February 13th, 2025 with digital distribution from Golden Robot Records. The new record follows the band’s award-winning album “Instanitarium” (2019), and their critically acclaimed EP “The Curse Lives On” (2020).

With their arena-caliber sound, “Save Our Souls” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Jon Howard (Threat Signal), and can be best described as the heaviest offering from PHEAR to date. Most of the album was written during the dark times of Covid. “Not a lot to be happy about during that time,” adds vocalist Patrick Mulock.

Extremely passionate and driven, PHEAR is always thinking of new ways to entertain its fans, and “Save Our Souls” is no exception. It has taken four years to complete (mostly due to covid). Led by Patrick Mulock and producer Jon Howard in the studio, each musician was pushed hard to get the best out of each of them and they delivered.

“We had a lot of time to craft these songs. We didn’t have any time restraints. We would go into the studio and do three songs at a time. We were very excited to work with Jon Howard (Threat Signal) again. Jon is the sixth member of Phear. The studio experience was great as we fed off each other’s ideas. We pushed each other to get the best performances we could. There are NO FILLERS here. Seven String guitars have played a big part in this. Our sound has grown. The bass guitar on this album is HUGE! The drumming from Mike Harshaw was also very aggressive. If you were to ask me now…This is the heaviest Phear has ever been……….for now lol!” says Mulock.

A listening experience of thrash, prog, and classic metal elements, PHEAR offers a strong balance from infectious choruses to melodic and growling vocals for true heavy metal nostalgia. Their two lead singles, the album’s title track and “Snake” are sure to make you throw up your hail horns and rock out with a sore neck from the headbanging. Plus the band offers up their cover version of Nevermore’s “Narcosynthesis”.

“We feel that Phear fans will LOVE this album. We have played some of these songs live and they have gone over amazingly. The first time we played the title track “Save Our Souls”, the entire club was singing the chorus. And it has happened everywhere we have played since…….. No better feeling in the world!” adds Mulock.

PHEAR features Patrick Mulock (Lead Vocals) (Eidolon, Rampage), Pat Rogers (Lead & Rhythm Guitars) (Profaner- 2016 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions), Alex Zubair (Lead & Rhythm Guitars) (Burn to Black, Nadar Sadek, Iomair, Nephelium), Andrew Suarez (Drums) (Fatality, The Slyde – 2023 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions) and Chris Boshis (Bass) (Conflicted).

Throughout their existence, PHEAR has had the honour of opening for German metal legend UDO DIRSCHNEIFER, THE DEAD DAISIES, and STRYPER, along with performing on a pre-show for icons and heroes IRON MAIDEN in 2019 in Toronto at Budweiser Stage.

Recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Dream Theater (prog elements), and Metallica, PHEAR’s sophomore album “Save Our Souls” is available from Golden Robot Records at the following link (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon) – https://orcd.co/save-our-souls

Montreal, QC – February 7, 2025

Prog Guitarist Marko Bojkovic Shreds New Music Video “What We Accomplished” ft. Chris Thomas

New Album “Powercore” Out Now!

Inspired by his youthful years of playing Sonic Adventure on his Sega Dreamcast and being wondered by its luring soundtrack, Marko Bojkovic has been exploring instrumental guitar sounds for many years. Releasing his eighth studio album “Powercore” this past January on Forerunner Recordings. He’s presenting his new music video for the single “What We Accomplished” ft. guest vocals from Chris Thomas.

Bojkovic explains the track:

“In spring of 2023, I went through the roughest moment of my life. People spread lies about me and because of that, I couldn’t be with an amazing group of friends I made as long as we were hoping, which caused me to go through heartbreak. When I tried to state my innocence, they fought alongside me and helped me try to stay with them. Although we failed to keep me with the group, we formed an even stronger friendship through the experience and accomplished a greater goal…becoming eternal friends. This song is dedicated to them.”

Watch and listen to the video for “What We Accomplished” ft. Chris Thomas at https://youtu.be/nUIf7LN1E0Q

Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3YPhx2x

Recommended for fans of Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, Periphery, Dream Theater, and Firewind, Marko Bojkovic‘s new album “Powercore” is available at the following link – https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/markobojkovic/powercore

With nothing but positive messaging in mind, Bojkovic encourages listeners during the seven tracks on “Powercore” that they can accomplish anything they set their mind to and believe in themselves. In addition to the guitar work, Bojkovic played all the bass lines on the album along with recruiting guest vocals from Chris Thomas (growling vocals, clean vocals) and Gabe Vermund (clean vocals).

“This album is me finally channeling my personality in my music! Powercore is meant to be accessible to metal fans and non-metal fans alike. It’s a positive listening experience that motivates the listener to go out and accomplish a task and not want to give up. Also a bit of self-reflection such as wanting a better life but having to deal with a lot of bullshit or if a best friend was a real one. A lot of metal songs seem to be about sadness and negativity, and while those songs are very cool and heartfelt, metal songs can be positive and inspire the listener to go out and achieve a set goal!” adds Marko Bojkovic.

Packing the most punch with perfectly combined progressive metal, power metal, metalcore, and djent along with influences from jazz fusion to classical music, Bojkovic‘s new album “Powercore” is named after his own dubbed genre of metal called Progressive PowerCore. Musically, the album’s guitar solos are among the best he’s ever written. As a small content creator on YouTube and Patreon, Bojkovic has become known on the internet for his economy-picking prowess, which he showcases to excellent use on the songs featured in this full-length.

“listen to Marko’s genius unfold ” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“The demonstration of Marko Bojkovic’s excellent artistic qualities bears the name of PowerCore and is the reflection of the two stylistic souls that characterize the vision of the guitarist from Florida. Thanks to the skillful interaction between the two singers called together, distinct universes collide giving life to a vortex of colors and nuances: melodic digressions on the one hand and explosions of vibrant anger on the other, these are the two opposite visions that interface seamlessly, enhancing the compositional textures elaborated by the talented musician. Thanks to very fast scales, virtuosity, and risky raids on the six strings, manages to outline scenarios that are nothing short of compelling, varied, and rich in details. Power, metalcore, and djent: these are the stylistic horizons called into question, combined by Bojkovic in an original and personal way. 8/10” – Rock Hard Italy

“Marko Bojkovic has talent, there is no doubt about that” – HeavyMetal.dk

“You can do stuff on lead guitar that no one else can do, such as your economy picking.” – Patrick Finster – Producer

“Venom is a very heavy album and I absolutely loved the guitar work. The self-titled track really showcased the heavy riffs and helped set the course for the rest of the album. ‘Maximum Carnage’ also had nice guitar work as well. Hard, heavy, and head bang worthy riffs…. In all I highly recommend this album for fans of bands like Trivium and Meshuggah. With Marko’s guitar work plus the vocals, it’s definitely worth a listen for anyone that enjoys heavy metal, with some screaming vocals.” – Music Crowns

Florida metal guitarist Marko Bojkovic has released his latest album, Venom. Musically, the album is a mixture of progressive metal, death metal, power metal, and thrash metal, with a hint of influence from anime and video game OSTs… Marko’s music is perfect for fans of Trivium, Meshuggah, Allegeaon, Obscura, Dream Theater, Firewind, Sabaton, Powerwolf, Iron Maiden, Kiko Loureiro/Angra, and Leprous.” – Punkerton Records

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Marko and mentoring his playing for over 2 years now and can easily see he’s one of the most capable, hardest working and fastest learning guitarists I’ve ever come across!” – Bradley Hall, guitar Youtuber

ANIMA INSIDE New Video “Through The Glass” Off Upcoming Album “Alien”

Ecuadar’s Anima Inside, unveils “Through The Glass”, a compelling new single accompanied by a striking official music video, further amplifying the song’s intense emotional depth. As one of the most powerful tracks from their upcoming album “Alien”, the song showcases the band’s signature blend of modern rock, progressive elements, and rich melodic textures.

With razor-sharp riffs, a dynamic rhythm section, and soaring vocals, “Through The Glass” takes listeners on a profound journey of perception and self-reflection. The song questions reality—do we truly see what’s on the other side or just a distorted version of the truth? This duality is mirrored in the cinematic music video, which visually brings to life the track’s themes of introspection and uncertainty.

Renowned for their ability to fuse progressive rock, alternative influences, and Latin musical roots, Anima Inside once again delivers a track that is both immediate and deeply layered. Fans of Muse, Pink Floyd, and Disturbed will find themselves drawn to its evocative storytelling, soaring melodies, and immersive instrumental work.

With meticulous production and a striking visual narrative, “Through The Glass” is a powerful statement, reinforcing Anima Inside’s status as one of South America’s most compelling rock acts.

Montreal, QC – February 7, 2025

VALLORCH Announce New Single / Video “Circle Of The Moon” Off New Album “The Circle” Out March 2025

Vallorch continues their journey into the world of folk and symphonic metal with their latest single, “Drink Some More!”, a raucous celebration of music, camaraderie, and revelry. Taken from their upcoming album “The Circle”, out next March 14th, 2025 from RockShots Records, this track embodies the band’s signature blend of folk traditions and symphonic grandeur delivering an irresistibly energetic and immersive experience.

With galloping rhythms, soaring melodies, and powerful folk instrumentation, “Drink Some More!” brings the listener straight into the heart of an ancient, fire-lit revelry. The combination of driving riffs, triumphant choruses, and spirited flute melodies captures the essence of Vallorch’s sound—balancing the raw energy of folk metal with the epic atmospheres of symphonic and power metal. The song is a perfect example of the band’s evolution, refining the elements introduced in “Neverfade” (2013) and “Until Our Tale Is Told” (2017) into a polished, dynamic, and immersive sonic experience.

Lyrically, the song draws from Alpine folklore and ancient traditions celebrating the timeless ritual of gathering together to share stories, drinks, and moments of uninhibited joy. “Drink Some More!” invites listeners to let go of worries, embrace the present, and lose themselves in a whirlwind of melody and rhythm.

Vallorch is also thrilled to announce the release of the official music video for “Drink Some More!”, visually bringing to life the song’s vibrant energy and celebratory spirit. This video perfectly complements the track’s infectious atmosphere, immersing viewers in the amazing and high-energy world that Vallorch has crafted with its music.

Fans of Eluveitie, Alestorm, Wind Rose, and Korpiklaani will find much to love in Vallorch’s vibrant fusion of folk instrumentation and symphonic power. This track is a call to revelry, a toast to the enduring spirit of folk metal, and a preview of the grand musical landscapes that “The Circle” promises to unveil.

ABOUT:

VALLORCH was born in December 2010, when Marco Munari (NewSun), Matteo Patuelli (Alzhagoth), and Massimo Benetazzo came up with the idea right after attending a concert together. Inspired by the energy and spirit of the event, they decided to form their own band, and the name VALLORCH—taken from a small Cimbrian village on the Cansiglio plateau—was quickly chosen as a tribute to their cultural roots.

For the first year, VALLORCH experimented with different sounds and musicians, searching for the right lineup. By January 2012, the group solidified with the addition of vocalist/flutist Sara, vocalist/bassist Leonardo Dalla Via, multi-instrumentalist Andrea ‘Demetrio’ Rampin (playing tin whistle, bagpipes, accordion), and violinist Francesco Salviato. This seven-member ensemble debuted live in March 2012, promoting their newly released EP Stories of North. Their captivating blend of folk metal quickly gained traction, earning them recognition in the Italian scene and leading to performances at events like Fosch Fest, where they opened for major bands.

However, the summer of 2012 brought changes. Violinist Francesco parted ways with the band, and Martina Mezzalira took his place. Around the same time, VALLORCH signed a record deal with Moonlight Records and entered the studio to work on their first full-length album. Released in 2013, Neverfade was met with critical and fan acclaim, blending fast-paced, melodic jigs with guttural and clean vocals, alongside powerful death metal riffs. This success landed them performances at major international festivals like Metaldays.

2014 saw further lineup shifts. Andrea Demetrio Rampin left the band, replaced by Paolo Pesce on accordion, hurdy-gurdy, and keyboards. Meanwhile, vocalist Sara took over tin whistle and bagpipe duties. Founding member Matteo Patuelli also stepped down, making way for guitarist Mattia Buggin to join. Despite these changes, VALLORCH pressed forward, embarking on their first European tour with Artaius. They played in Germany, Czechia, France, Belgium, and Slovakia, culminating in a performance opening for Mägo de Oz at the Metal for Emergency festival.

Later that year, they returned to the studio to record their second full-length album, Until Our Tale Is Told (2015). The album reflected the band’s growing compositional maturity and led to more festival appearances and live shows over the next two years.

In 2016, Riccardo Gianni briefly joined the band as a violinist, performing at several major local festivals. However, by 2019, the band was once again at a crossroads. After a series of lineup changes and creative challenges, founding member Marco Munari decided to leave the group. The remaining members—Massimo, Sara, Leo, Mattia, and Marco—faced a difficult choice: either disband or evolve. They chose to reinvent themselves as a five-piece band.

The global restrictions from 2020 to 2022 made live performances difficult, but the band used this time to focus on writing new material. By 2023, VALLORCH returned to the stage, opening for renowned acts like Alestorm, Wind Rose, and Rhapsody Of Fire.

Now, in 2025, VALLORCH is set to release their highly anticipated new album, “The Circle”, marking a triumphant return. Reborn from the ashes of their former selves, they are ready to take the world by storm once again.

Formed in early 2019, Red Deer, AB’s Art Of Attrition is a band that redevelops “the typical” deathcore sound by delivering aggression with melody, atmosphere with intricacy, and brutality with technicality. Combining ferocious work ethic with refined musicality, their songs challenge the notion that deathcore cannot evolve or be unique.

In July 2024, they unleashed their EP “…And It Will All End Forever” to follow their 2023 debut album “Void Eternal”. As a whole, their latest EP brought listeners disgusting breakdowns, matched by speed and intense guitar work that channeled emotions such as anger and anxiety. Hauntingly memorable solos gave way to epic choruses that share relatable moments. A whirlwind of deathcore it’s matched with classic black metal, and capitalized with bits of groove and creative drum parts.

On February, 14th, 2025, Art of Attrition will unshackle their first single of 2025, entitled “Subserviate & Decay”. The new song is an experimentation of some particular ideas that the band has over the years. With such diverse musical tastes, Art of Attrition is bringing some evolutionary ideas into their material for a new world order to “throw down”.

“Since the speed is incredibly fast, you get the feeling that every song is a 10-minute epic, but they are all in the 5-minute plus/minus direction. But epic is a good keyword, because every single piece has such technical power that you really need several runs to understand, what’s actually going on and that’s what brings tears of joy to the eyes of every metal fan who loves the technical hidden refinements. A small highlight is probably the last of the four songs, as well as the title song “…And It Will All End Forever”, which expresses the band’s entire range and makes it clear to everyone, what is meant by “Technical Deathcore”.9.5/10” – Hellfire Magazin

““…And It Will All End Forever” rises to the surface with the speed and dexterity of bands like Archspire. Mesmerising lead guitars shine brightly above the powerhouse rhythms, momentary silences between anvil heavy sections giving fleeting respite. A gargantuan monolithic breakdown is the last thing you might expect to hear on a track with such stunning lead guitars but the band brought it and it is nothing short of brutal, contrasted perfectly the delicate piano fade out. It’s hard to fathom how this band are not on a major label because this record is sublime [9/10]” – metal Noise

“Blackened technical deathcore… brutal and pissed off too” – 89.9 WORT FM – The Moshpit (Madison, WI)

“But then the EP’s ending title track. Holy fuck do they knock it out of the park with 6 minutes of killer melodies, a killer chorus and key/choirs, and a massive breakdown that make it an absolutely killer track, maybe one of the year’s best in the genre” – Teeth of The Divine

This marks the culmination of an eight-year journey for the band, resulting in their most ambitious and fully realized work to date. Listeners can now immerse themselves in all ten tracks of this genre-defying masterpiece, experiencing the album as it was intended – a complete, transformative journey through sound and emotion. The band comments:

“We simply can’t wait to share this new album with everyone, from old fans, whose expectations we hope to obliterate, to potential new listeners who might be going in with absolutely no clue as to what they should expect. We strived to constantly contrast old sonorities with new tendencies. We layered influences over each other to create something original yet oddly nostalgic.”

From the opening notes of “A Distant Figure In The Fog” to the closing moments of “A Soul Made Of Sludge”, “Dark Green” takes the listener on an unparalleled auditory adventure. Each track builds upon the last, creating a cohesive narrative that explores themes of nature, consciousness, and the human experience. The album’s production quality shines throughout, with every instrument and effect meticulously placed to create a rich, enveloping soundscape.

“The epic song (Dark Green) is a good indication of what the rest of the record holds, which is plenty of blues, psychedelia, and prog rock.” – Decibel Magazine

“How about a new prog-rock instrumental?! The title track “Dark Green” from the forthcoming album has arrived from progressive stoner rockers, TUMBLEWEED DEALER and we’re digging it. We’ve also had the opportunity to preview the new album and it’s also a strong statement and should sit well with prog lovers. Keep an eye out for the album to be released on Feb. 7th and catch the single “Dark Green” now on your Home for the Best New Rock…” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“Tumbleweed Dealer’s “Dark Green,” the title track from their upcoming album out on February 7th, is a lesson in blending diverse musical influences into a singular, gripping piece. Clocking in at just under five minutes, the song showcases the band’s evolution and fearless creativity by weaving elements of blues, psychedelia, and progressive rock into a dynamic and unpredictable journey. The track builds a narrative through its seamless shifts in tone and texture. From introspective melodies to bursts of raw energy, the track balances complexity with accessibility. Antoine Baril’s vintage keys anchor the composition, giving it a retro flair, while Zach Strouse’s saxophone solo adds an unexpected but welcome layer of richness. Tumbleweed Dealer’s roots in extreme music shine subtly through black metal-inspired melodies and brief flashes of double bass drum that are a nod to their past without overshadowing their current direction. This contrast between intensity and finesse underscores the band’s skill in pushing genre boundaries.“Dark Green” not only introduces the thematic essence of the album but it also captures the spirit of exploration that has defined Tumbleweed Dealer’s evolution.” – Amplify The Noise

” a bold evolution of their signature blend of bluesy desert rock and progressive experimentation.” – Montreal Rocks

“This is one of those compositions that requires total immersion. Clean singing, bah who needs singing at all?! Recorded with finetuned care so you can hear all the little fret squeaks before they ramp up the ambience straight from a John Fruscianterecord. With synths and other keys that chameleon-ize said maestro’s voice, later emulating the sound of a backing choir that then morphs into church organ. When the atmospherics basking in the background saunter forth, the darker shades of green start to realize and the track enters the domain of prog royalty. As a double kick is racing the throbbing-for-the-last-gasp procreative releases of the bass before flamenco-picking a Morricone lick ghosted into a pregnant silence to just nod for the memory of a note that enticingly lures like an anglerfish with, “you ready for more?” The timestamp at termination is 4:51 but this is some form of dimension-manipulating chronomancy because the track feels like it is over quicker than Napalm Death’s “You Suffer.” That means I’m either suffering from THC-induced crapulence or my favorite drug just happens to be music; and when it’s layered this well, with so much to encounter on repeat listens, it can truly have the magical property of transcendental transportation.” – No Clean Singing
