DIE ANOTHER DAY are one of Calgary, Canada’s freshest bands. Started in the spring of 2019 with a variety of influences, the quartet expands into multiple genres, getting fans excited to embrace different styles of music. Releasing their debut single ‘Broken Youth’ on August 28, 2019, the band gave a taste of what’s to come in a fun track that is creative, bouncy and upbeat. The single was mixed by Jesse Kopala along with being mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, He Is Legend, Scale The Summit).
The band is really proud of the single, which has plenty of energetic riffs, aggressive lyrics, and melodic harmonies that everybody can really enjoy and get into.
The band explains:
“We all really love the single and I’m hoping fans feel the same as we do about it. We’re hoping fans wind up being as excited about the single as we are. We’re a new band in town and we have a different style of music that other bands. Hopefully, we leave them wanting more and hyped for another single in the future from us.”
With primary genres being metalcore and pop-punk, DIE ANOTHER DAY is recommended for fans of Thrice, A Day To Remember, Billy Talent, and Avenged Sevenfold and anyone else that enjoys high energy music that inspires jumping, headbanging, and fun. The band is preparing more material along with touring in the coming new year.

Finnish symphonic power metal band EVERFROST‘s second full-length album “Winterider” is finally out now as of September 6th via Rockshots Records.
In celebration of the release, the band is sharing their new anime-inspired video ‘Actraiser’ here.
EVERFROST‘s new album ‘Winterider’ features 10 songs of winter spiced melodic metal elevated to the extreme this time around! The tracklisting includes the band’s first ballad, their fastest song to date and the first EVERFROST epic, clocking in at over 10 minutes.
The album is a unique undertaking for a metal/rock band, as it combines of a fully coherent manga comic and a conceptual album. The story features characters from their debut album “Blue Eyed Emotion”, and takes them on a desperate journey to survive a never-ending winter! This type of album has never been attempted before, and the band is pulling out all the stops to provide you with a truly unique experience in the world of comics and music!

“Winterider launches the listener into the world of Everfrost once again for a new story. A brutal winter that came and never left is disrupting the peace in Everfrost, bringing panic and depressing times to the residents. The main characters fight against the cold and sorrow however in this defiant anthem, trying to enjoy their young adult life in a hidden city no one is allowed to leave from. The song features huge keyboard strings, catchy guitar riffs and an anime-esque chorus, not to forget guitar and keyboard solo dueling and powerful gang cries. The song is a ‘get up and go’ for anyone who needs it in hard times.”

EVERFROST is a Finnish symphonic power metal band known for incorporating Japanese anime and manga influences into their visuals and storytelling with a winter flavor.
The band features vocalist Mikael Salo, guitarist Markus Laito, drummer Joonas Salminen, bassist Allan C Hasanen and keyboardist Benjamin Connelly. The music includes generous use of catchy melodies and heavy riffs, plenty of guitar and keyboard solos, a large instrumental variety from orchestral to electronic and energetic drumming. The vocals consist of operatic and power metal-inspired male vocals, occasionally including female vocals and harsh vocals as a contrast. The band’s lyrical themes deal with escapism, death/loss and fantasy.

Out now as of September 6th, Devon Eggers and his solo project SURFACE OF THE SUN has unveiled the new EP “Panacea”. The EP consists of four songs, each providing a unique element and feel to the sophomore release. All vocals and music were written, performed and recorded by Devon Eggers except for the drums, which were composed by Chris Warunki (Omnisight). Since his first recording in 2011, “A Dying Star”, Eggers has worked hard to make a more polished, detailed, and refined second effort with “Panacea”. The EP definitely brings that aspiration alive with more elaborate song arrangements with a SURFACE OF THE SUN sound. Eggers explains in further detail:
“The ‘Panacea’ EP was a major solo undertaking, so I’m very excited to finally be at the release date. I started writing most of these songs about 4-5 years ago, picking away at them here and there as ideas came and went. Then a little over a year ago, when I decided to go the route of releasing an EP, these four songs had come together in a way that felt right, and like they belonged together on the same release. So, in August 2018 I pushed the other songs aside for a bit so I could focus on these four.
Heavy, creative and catchy, SURFACE OF THE SUN is appealing for all fans of progressive metal, especially those with an interest in Tool, Karnivool, and Chevelle.

Bio:
Surface of the Sun is a one-man project spawned from the mind of Devon Eggers. Working on music over the years in the capacity of a recording engineer, he decided to complete a few of his musical ideas on his own. He manifests the subjects for the catchy and melodic songs, and then writes, performs and records all the instruments and vocals save for the drums. He does his own mixing but usually outsources the mastering and has two completed albums to date.Surface of the Sun is a listening experience that people can get lost in; it is dynamic with a rollercoaster of energy, melodies and heaviness. Each song stands out on its own while still complimenting the others.
Unrestricted by any other creative influence, Eggers can focus on his sole vision for progressive metal that he hopes will inspire others in some way, especially to think outside the box, to question, to be open, or to better themselves and others. While many of the lyrics may be aggressive and highlight an issue, Eggers usually writes in a way that focuses on correcting or improving whatever that problem may be.
In 2011, he released the debut full length ‘A Dying Star’ which is being followed up in 2019 with the EP ‘Panacea’ that will show further maturation and how Eggers has grown as an artist, writer, producer and engineer.

Chron Goblin are back at it this week releasing the second single ‘Oblivion’ from their upcoming album “Here Before” Scheduled to be unveiled on September 27, 2019 via Grand Hand Records.
Fuzzy distortion and smooth bass lines await fans of stoner metal in this slick and dirty track that will get your insides buzzing. “‘Oblivion’ was one of the first songs we had finished for the new album. This track feels like a transition from our previous album Backwater into the style and sounds that we leaned on in writing Here Before. It’s got a nice blend of heavy riffage and groove but with lots of space and room for vocals to breathe. We’ve been playing this track live a fair amount recently, often opening with it or at least early in the set.”
