““Motive” is a unique blend of different genres and ideals mostly stemming from Thrash Metal which is where they’re rooted—they contain about themselves an esoteric musical style albeit inviting and head-banging, a must listen to for anyone with any penchant or inclination towards Thrash Metal.”

CVLT Nation Premiere WAINGRO’s Summer Jam ‘Bay Area Cult’ Off Upcoming Album ‘III’
Out August 15, 2019 Sludgelord Records (UK vinyl, worldwide digital) / September 13, 2019 No List Records (Canada vinyl)

WAINGRO is not just a crazy, terrible human for hire trying to make his life in L.A. as portrayed in the 1995 film Heat. It’s also the name of a crazy rock n’ roll band who are making their way through the Canadian music scene and beyond with the release of their upcoming third album “III” set to be released in the UK on vinyl and digitally worldwide via Sludgelord Records on August 15th along with its Canadian vinyl release on September 13th via No List Records.
Using the character from Mann’s movie as a jumping-off point, the Vancouver band imagines further scenarios of pre-Heat WAINGRO situations. Releasing their first single ‘Red Death’ this past June, the trio is sharing their next track ‘Bay Area Cult’ in preview to the upcoming album “III”.
The band adds:
“This is our summer jam. We wanted a song that you can hang out and drink beers with your pals and have this in the BG.”
Teaming up with CVLTNation, WAINGRO are premiering the single’s stream at the following link: https://www.cvltnation.com/hear-the-crushing-sound-of-waingro-bay-area-cult/
“III”, as suggested, is the third album from WAINGRO and has shown considerable growth from their previous releases “Mt. Hood” (2015) and Self-Titled (2014).
The band explains:
“The first album was kind of chaotic, the second one explored the stoner/doom side of things a bit more, and this new and third one is a mix of the two, but with a more grunge/noise element to it.”

Bio:
Fueled by a passion for stoner rock and punk; Brian Sepanzyk (guitars/vocals), Benjie Nesdoly (drums) and Nate Pennell (bass/backing vocals) took the heaviness of hardcore, the groove from stoner rock and then added subtle desert rock highlights to work on what would come to be known as Waingro.
The experienced musicians have honed their craft in several other bands over the years, but it wasn’t until they formed Waingro that Sepanzyk (guitar/vocals), Nesdoly (drums), and Nate Pennell (bass/backing vocals) were truly able to explore their talents in the abrasive desert rock band. While their earlier material can be considered stoner hardcore with releases Self Titled (2014) and Mt. Hood (2015); Waingro adds a grunge edge with their upcoming album “III due out August 15, 2019, its UK vinyl and worldwide digital release via Sludgelord Records and is Canadian vinyl release on September 13, 2019, via No List Records.
Not ones to be conventional, Waingro gives a glimpse into their writing process: “It usually starts with Sepanzyk coming up with some riffs, then going out to a cabin and locking ourselves away for 2-3 days while we BBQ and play Bocce.”
Bringing a ton of energy, while still remaining super tight, Waingro’s main lyrical concepts explore the character of the same name from the film Heat. Writing about situations from the character’s potential point of view complemented with visual landscapes for his possibilities, Waingro have played several festivals across Canada and with their latest album around the corner, will be looking to further their reach in the future.

“Waingro have crafted an impressive debut that should soon see them mentioned alongside fellow Vancouverites Baptists and Bison B.C. as a reliable source of West Coast heaviness.” – Exclaim
“Think Queens of the Stone Age but with Nick Oliveri fully supplanting Josh Homme on the mic.” – BeatRoute
“There is no escaping from the fact that Waingro have something special about them. As they have the sound and vision to turn some heads within the Hard Rock/Stoner Rock scene.” – Sludgelord
“Waingro came out swinging, with a masterful energy and stage presence that immediately turned heads across the board.” – BeatRoute
“Melodically dissonant in the best way possible, these guys play rock ‘n roll the way it should be, drawing on influences from all over the place to concoct something that they’ve made entirely their own.” – CVLT Nation

Since 2012, Thunder Bay’s PAGE 38 have been rocking stages across Canada with their lively brand of ‘no BS rock n roll’. No weekend warriors here, these guys are passionate about their craft and they aim to get crowds moving with brash, pummeling rock in the veins of Motley Crue, The Wild!, AD/DC and Motorhead.
In June of this year, they released their third album “Burning The Midnight Oil”. The driving rock theme really works out for them with this 45 minute medley of awesome road trip/cruising music. PAGE 38 puts it simply:
“The album as a whole is just plain and simple badass rock n roll. Nothing more, nothing less.”
To support this album, PAGE 38 is setting out on their own road trip to give fans across Canada a taste of what they’ve been working on with an eight-date tour in August 2019. Free from excessive banter and silence from the stage, PAGE 38 are all about bringing a wild, loud high-energy set to their fans.
“Burning The Midnight Oil” is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, the band’s online store here and all other major online retailers.

Page 38 is a young, tough, and gritty original hard rock band from Thunder Bay, Ontario. The four-piece group fuses respect for the past with modern-day energy and drive and makes music for partiers looking for good times. Inspired by icons like AC/DC, Judas Priest, Airborne, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and Motley Crue, Page 38 began in 2012 when the members were just 13 and made its bones in the all-ages scene.
An EP, Rock N Roll You, dropped in 2015 and a full-length effort, Swingin’ From The Ceilin’, in 2018. A new EP called Burning The Midnight Oil is slated for June of 2019 and those close to the group expect it to take Page 38 to a much larger audience. A tour of Western Canada and Southern Ontario will follow.
The current lineup of Andy Hubbard on bass and lead vocals, Taylor Nicholl on drums, and Jacob Goodman and Noah Anderson on guitars displays the tightly-knit chemistry all great rock bands have and that connection fuels every song Page 38 creates. The group is the only youthful act in its region playing this brand of rock and roll and does it with the authority and swagger of house-rocking veterans.
Page 38 has the balls needed to put the hard-edged, unapologetic attitude back into the rock scene as only a young band can and has a sound and show that can move any crowd in the world. True fans of the horsepower and brilliance of real rock music need to discover Page 38 tonight.

“If you put a young James Hetfield in front of Motörhead, Sabbath, or Mötley Crüe, you would have Page 38.” – Canadain Beats
“Burning The Midnight Oil starts off strong and never lets up” – Sleaze Roxx
“Page 38 exemplifies true rock amongst the local scene” -The Walleye
