NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 4, 2021

For fans of Veil of Maya, Born of Osiris, Periphery, Erra, Spiritbox

Every Hour Kills Juxtapose Angular Heaviness With Soaring Melody On “Euclidian”

Every Hour Kills, from Calgary, Canada, has a reputation for putting out solid, immersive EPs and creatively artistic music videos. Their latest work “Vacua” is expanding on their trademark sound, albeit it’s a twisted, heavier version than what fans have got used to over the years. This new release will see a new vocalist in the form of Jei Doublerice (Abiogenesis, Despite Exile, Sensory Amusia) and with his inclusion; EHK does away with a lot of the melody and clean vocals, swapping them for brutal breakdowns and turbulent vocals. The initial glimpse into this new form is through the single “Euclidian”.

The single was co-written with Chris Wiseman (Currents, Shadow of Intent) and is an introduction to the new style with Doublerice. His riffing style complements Sacha Laskow’s perfectly and what came out was an amalgamation of this technical riffing with whacky synths/time signatures/cinematic breakdown. Doublerice came in over top with his signature intense style to wrap everything up. This is the shortest song on the EP and gets in and gets out with no filler.

Acknowledging that this new EP might not be for everyone, founder, guitarist, and producer Sacha Laskow, shares that this work is the result of a “dark, tumultuous fucked up year” for him personally, along with many other people. He explains further:

“As lucky as I am to still have work and my basic needs met, the emotional rollercoaster still affected me strongly and I ended up unemployed for a period in 2020, and thus this EP was born. It is both more human in that I collaborated more strongly with new songwriters and Jei on vocals, but also more mechanical as I also wrote with the assistance of AI creation tools, and most of the instrumentation is programmed MIDI. I feel like this is my most honest work as a writer, to express what comes to mind rather than fit into a box or template of what Every Hour Kills ‘should’ sound like. It may alienate some people but so be it!”

“Vacua” will be the fourth studio release from the band, following “Every Hour Kills” (2015), “Fragile Machine” (2018) and “Re:awaken” (2020). The djenty scorecore is recommended for fans of Veil of Maya, Born of Osiris, and Periphery

The single “Euclidian” is out now as of June 4th and can be heard on the following platforms:

YouTube – https://youtu.be/pD7ZRyeu0P4
Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp – https://everyhourkills.com/ig/

EP “Vacua” will be released later this year.

About:
“Every hour wounds, but the last one kills” – Anonymous

Every Hour Kills is a rotating collective ensemble featuring the core of ex-Divinity / Enditol guitarist and producer Sacha Laskow, bassist Brent Stutsky (ex-Breach of Trust), along with vocalists Jei Doublerice (Despite Exile, Abiogenesis) and Jerrod Maxwell-Lyster (ex-Out of Your Mouth).

Every Hour Kills was built to challenge the idea of what defines a “band”. Rather, the group sees itself as a constantly evolving musical collective; guest vocalists and soloists across the songs bring their own unique artistry and elevate the collective impact of Every Hour Kills’ brand. The lyrics, artwork, visuals, and themes all look toward the future, asking the key postmodern question of how will emerging technology and our humanity progress and co-exist?

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 4, 2021

For fans of Katatonia, Helloween, Amorphis, Anthema

Rockshots Records: Endless Chain Shares Lyric Video “Scars On Me” From Upcoming Album “Forthcoming Past”

Debut Album “Forthcoming Past” Out June 25, 2021
ft. guests Mikko Heikkilä (Kaunis Kuolematon, Dawn Of Solace, Black Aeon Sun),
Ville Hovi (Blackstar Halo), Aki Salonen (Nemecic), Sami Yli-Sirniö (Kreator, Waltari),
Antti Kolehmainen, (Waltari), Samuli Mikkonen (Korpiklaani)

Finnish songwriter Timo Mölsä will be releasing his studio project Endless Chain‘s debut album “Forthcoming Past” via Rockshots Records on June 25th, 2021. The album features guests Mikko Heikkilä (Kaunis Kuolematon, Dawn Of Solace, Black Aeon Sun), Ville Hovi (Blackstar Halo), Aki Salonen (Nemecic), Sami Yli-Sirniö (Kreator, Waltari), Antti Kolehmainen, (Waltari), and Samuli Mikkonen (Korpiklaani). The full length was recorded, mixed, and produced by Aleksanteri Kuosa (Before the Dawn, Wolfheart, Waltari) along with mastering done by Juho Räihä (guitarist of Swallow the Sun).

Today, Endless Chain is now ready to unveil their third single “Scars On Me” with a lyric video. The track features guest vocals from Ville Hovi (Blackstar Halo) and a guitar solo from Sami Yli-Sirniö (Kreator, Waltari).

Mölsä adds:

“This is the most “rock” song on the album. It’s a fast and catchy rally, a powerful track with great lyrics.”

Lyric Video – https://youtu.be/99b6S-kU02Q
Digital – https://backl.ink/146711365

A late bloomer to being a musician, Endless Chain‘s Timo Mölsä had his musical awakening in 2016, however, he has been listening and influenced by various genres of metal music for over 30 years. It took re-introducing himself to guitar with long-time friend Ari Hokkanen as a fun pastime that drove Mölsä to create his own songs. What would soon follow is a new project with contributions from Hokkanen for writing and lyrics.

Soon after, Mölsä shared his demos with drummer Samuli Mikkonen (Korpiklaani), who, after listening, joined the project and performed all the drums on the debut record.

Step by step things fell into place, through Mikkonen, Mölsä became acquainted with producer Aleksanteri Kuosa who had a big impact on the completion of the debut album.

“Aleksanteri is an imaginative producer and he was also very patient with a perfectionist like me. He knew how to weed out extra notes from my compositions and finally got the most out of my songs. There were maybe a total of 20 songs in the beginning, of which we went through less than 15 in the preliminary production. Finally, 10 songs had been selected for the album. Through Aleksanteri, I also got many other great musicians involved in the project.”

The end result is Mölsä‘s dark and melancholic sound premiered through Endless Chain‘s first offering “Forthcoming Past”.

France’s AVALAND‘s are sharing their latest music video “Never Let Me Walk Alone” in support of their symphonic and operatic metal adventure “Theater of Sorcery” released this past April viaRockshots Records. The album features guests Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Zak Stevens (Savatage/TSO), Zaher Zorgati (Myrath), Emmanuelson (Rising Steel), Stéphan Forté (Adagio), Madie (Nightmare) among many other great musicians.

The music video for “Never Let Me Walk Alone” features Madie (Nightmare) and Ayman Mokdad (Venus Syndrome/Alien Encounters) and can be viewed on Rockshots Records YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/xY7bFWytItU

Band founder Adrien G. Gzagg adds about the track:

“I love singing this one! Madie (Nightmare) made an incredible performance on this track as The Guardian Angel! Ayman Mokdad also played solos with a great feeling on that song! I put a lot of my own in this Progy/AOR song. This song is about the fear of being alone with ourselves and our inner demons. We all sometimes need someone to help us go head in our lives.”

Inspired by heroic fantasy, history, mythologies, and esoterism, AVALAND band founder Adrien G. Gzagg decided to create the epic story album “Theater of Sorcery” with eight characters. The debut is a theatrical metal world that tells the story of a young sorcerer Adam Wilstorm who could be the salvation of bringing back the light to the kingdom of Avaland and during his journey, he must learn to control his powers linked to the Storm.

“This album was a long and tiring, but incredible experience. We could record in a good mood and we were well surrounded by amazing people. Despite of our youth, we could approach a professional atmosphere during studio time. We all surpassed ourselves and we are very proud of the result. We are impatient to share “Theater Of Sorcery” to the world and very honored to sign with Rockshots for our very first album.” adds Adrien G. Gzagg.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 2, 2021

For fans of Judas Priest, Saxon, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Manowar

Canada’s Lycanthro Are Now Streaming Their New Album “Mark of the Wolf”

Album Stream Premiere via MetalInsider

New Album “Mark of The Wolf” Out June 4th via Alone Records

Lycanthro has been hard at work on their new album “Mark of the Wolf”, which releases on Friday, June 4th via Alone Records to follow their 2018 EP “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”.

Before “Mark of the Wolf” officially drops, Lycanthro has teamed with MetalInsider.net for its full stream HERE.

On this new LP, Lycanthro has been drawing more influences from European and US power metal to the point where they decided to make it a mainstay in their overall sound.

The band hopes that this upcoming full length will have a positive impact on the listeners and that the songs will be memorable and stuck in the listener’s mind after they’ve finished the album. Along with the two singles “Evangelion” and “Crucible” that have already been released, the album flaunts a diverse range of songs including the sing-along crowd-pleaser  “In Metal We Trust”; the epic retelling of Hunchback of Notre Dame with “Fallen Angels Prayer” and the harmonic “Enchantress”. Vocalist/guitarist James Delbridge gives insight into the album:

“This album has taken a while to forge, and we hope that fans will marvel in the peaks and valleys that this album has to offer, and leave with having a positive experience! Some songs are an homage to different stories from pop culture and media and we hold near and dear to our hearts, other songs are meant to bring the listener on a journey through the worlds within the song, and others are just so the listener can marvel in the epicness of metal!”

“Mark of the Wolf” is eight tracks of diverse listening that offer something for everyone while still staying under the power metal umbrella. High soaring vocals, harmonized guitars, heavy chugging riffs, odd, but cool instruments, and even a breakdown or 2, all metalheads have something they can take from this album and walk away with a positive experience.

This album as well as the previous EP was recorded at Wolf Lake Studios in Lac-des-Loups, Quebec and the mastering was done by Jack Kosto who is most well-known for being the lead guitarist in power metal band Seven Spires.

Lycanthro is recommended listening for power metal fans everywhere especially those who enjoy Helloween, Manowar and Judas Priest.

“Mark of the Wolf”  releases on June 4, 2021 via Alone Records and available on the following platforms.

“Their latest single (Crucible) is a treat for any fans of power metal or good old classic heavy metal. The track features a catchy rhythm, precision drumming, and classic 80’s vocals. It’s over 7 minutes of headbang worthy heavy metal. The guitar work is a particular highlight of the track, changing pace throughout the track, keeping the listener engaged throughout.” – Metal Injection

“Mark of the Wolf is filled with mostly catchy heavy metal (good luck trying to get “In Metal We Trust” out of your head after hearing it once) that gets the listener break out the air guitar and air drums and sing along almost from beginning to end. Fans of ’80s heavy metal and modern power metal that’s not over the top should definitely find something to like on Mark of the Wolf.” -The Metal Crypt

“As a debut hard rock/heavy metal album overall, it not only showcases a variety of talent throughout its 43 minutes of captured studio time, but it also features an even number of eight powerful songs crafted with fury and determination… Mark Of The Wolf marks not only many criteriae for the consummate debut album but also marks LYCANTHRO’s own territory within the new breed. 5.0 Out Of 5.0” – KNAC.com

“Eerie picked acoustic over strings begin the track (Crucible) with driving guitars burst through and start off a rampage of rock riffing and drums. With an uptight electric feel to the track, it’s a full on rock n roll epic complete with howling vocals and singing guitars.” – Backseat Mafia

“What’s better than spending your Saturday evening with a bunch of Canadian Heavy Metal Werewolves? I bet there’s not much that sounds more like an alpha move huh? LYCANTHRO have assembled their first full-length and it is a ripper! 8/10” – Reflections of Darkness

“Mark of the wolf” is an example of how a heavy metal album should sound. It is classic, and at the same time very inventive and fresh. Expectations fully met. Their debut can easily be classified as one of the most important events of 2021. Rating: 9/10″ – Power Metal Warrior
