Extreme Metal Music – Germany’s One Man Symphonic Dark Metal DAIDALOS Releases Debut Single “Icewind” Off Album “The Expedition” Out July 2022

German one-man symphonic dark metal band Daidalos founded in 2020 by drummer/pianist Tobias Püschner (former drummer of the technical thrash band Revolt) will be releasing the debut album “The Expedition” this coming July 2022 via Extreme Metal Music.

The album was inspired after reading a book on Captain Sir John Franklin’s Lost Expedition, a British voyage of Arctic exploration that departed with 129 men from England in 1845. Both ships, called Erebus & Terror, became icebound and after being trapped and suffering in eternal coldness for over a year, the remaining sailors decided to abandon their ships. Trying to survive, they set out for the Canadian mainland, but disappeared.

“The Expedition” is a musical journey through the Arctic Ice, on board with Sir John Franklin’s crew. The different moods the sailors had to experience at that time probably went from heroic and enthusiastic to absolute hopelessness and daily mortal fear. I composed these atmospheres musically and told them as a concept album / musical story.” says Püschner

“The Expedition” contains nine songs and has a total playtime of 47 minutes plus a bonus track.

In preview to the record’s release, Daidalos is sharing its visualizer for the opening track and first single “Icewind”. It was the first song Püschner wrote for the album. It is powerful and energetic, but also represents the album’s concept story and the crew’s first contact with the adverse conditions of the journey.

“In the past, it was said as a nautical superstition that a woman on board brings bad luck. The grand finale of the song is therefore sung by a woman. I asked Noga Rotem to do this because she also conducts and composes orchestras and has a wonderful, powerful but also vulnerable voice. She has realized the theme and her text perfectly.” adds Püschner.

Digital single – https://bfan.link/icewind

Daidalos’ concept can be described as a full orchestral and dark emotional cinematic journey combined with aggressive vocals and harsh guitars. Most of the songs recorded on the upcoming full-length contain clean choir vocals and fast-paced drumming along with each song being written exclusively on the piano first. The idea behind this way of songwriting is to first finish each track’s own atmosphere with orchestral music and then use those emotions to create the harder parts.

For the recording of “The Expedition”, Püschner recruited guest musicians and friends Martin Simon (Kambrium) (bass/backing vocals), Fabio Rossi (Tryglav) (lead guitar), Francesco Petrelli (guitar), Noga Rotem (choir vocals) who will also support Daidalos on live shows.

“The Expedition” is due out on July 29th, 2022, and is recommended for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Wintersun, and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

About:
DAIDALOS was founded in 2020 as a one-man band by Tobias Püschner.

The band´s idea is to combine a classical orchestra with fast and aggressive elements, to create atmospheric breakdowns of different mental states.

This happens along epic historic events and stories, to develop a heroic and often hopeless sad feeling.

After sending some demos of the debut album “The Expedition”, Daidalos got directly signed by the label Rockshots / Extreme Metal Music in 2022.

EPK – Sobernot – Smoke Masters (Gimme My Money Back) (single) (2022)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“The single ‘Smoke Masters (Gimme My Money Back)’ represents a big portion of what can be expected to be listened to in Destroy. However, all songs have their own soul and sound. Songs are powerful, groovy, brutal, melodic, with great choruses and melodic sections, and also outstanding instrumental performances by the whole party, with tons of riffs and rhythms to capture your neck and make you bang your head almost by instinct. Even the order of the tracklist has a purpose. You can play in that exact order in a live show and it would work perfectly. Time flies when you listen to it and for sure you’ll want to give it a second try right after the first one.” – Sobernot

“As a conclusion, we are in front of a young band that went from a ‘promising band’ to a ‘consecrated band’ in the Chilean scene, daring with a style that is not much exploited in the national and South American level.” – Gabriel Jaque, Rock n Vox

“They reflect in all their lines a full-time winning team, strong and well endowed, somehow everyone participates in this ‘silent conspiracy’. A team that, in soccer jargon, “wins, likes and scores.” – Bastián Gómez, Resistance

“Sobernot presents their first full-length album that has an intense and powerful Groove Metal.” – John Collyer, Discordancia

“The 30-minute presentation had a sound at the level, and strong attitudes from each musician, while they kept promoting “Silent Conspiracy” (2018), their first full-length album.” – Luciano González, Rockaxis

“A delight -and a must- for every lover of the genre at a national level, which is impossible to resist. There is no way to escape from the frenzy projected by these four subjects who do not know sobriety when the watchword is to leave the soul.” – Claudio Miranda, Resistance (Live show review).

===================================

STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS:

1. When we started to record invitations to our shows, things escalated quickly and we became a sort of Monty Python of short/comic sketches. And when our first drummer decided to leave the band we did a video with him where the new drummer was born like a xenomorph (Alien franchise) leaving his rotten corpse behind and joining the band immediately. You can see the full video on our here: https://www.facebook.com/Sobernot/videos/570385980157040/

2. The concept of “Destroy” comes from our ritual before a show when we get together and scream “Destroy!” to each other in order to get in the mood to give our best every show/recording/video.

3. Similar to Destroy, our first EP name “Aurt” was born in a very similar way, it’s like a phoneme we use to express when something’s cool and fun. And fans got into this very much! Every time we play live you can hear people in the crowd shouting out loud “Auuuurt!!”. We never thought it was going to go that far hahaha. Even when a fan found any of us in the streets or anywhere they say “Auuurt!” instead of “hello”, it’s pretty crazy hahaha.

4. When we play live, we always go down to the crowd and get into the mosh and riff alongside the people, things get crazy and the music won’t be perfect during that madness but is one of the top moments of our live act.

Sobernot is an independent groove metal band born in Santiago, Chile. By mixing classic metal with groove, Latin rhythms, and progressive rock elements, they stand out in their style through powerful and innovative riffs with a balanced use of guttural and clean voices from one of a kind. This is not only reflected in the studio, but they’ve also made their live shows and performances one of the most solid ones on the local scene. Between their most important appearances, they highlight the opening shows for Havok (June 2018), and Crisix (Dec 2018). Also, sharing the stage with three of the most iconic exponents of the old-school thrash metal genre: At War, Hirax, and Exodus in September 2019. Sobernot is about to release their second studio LP, called “Destroy” on July 7th, 2022, which continues the path built by the first album “Silent Conspiracy” (2018), keeping the riffs unique identity, powerful lyrics, and exceptional choruses, but this time powered by the co-production of Franco Gabelo (CL) and mastered at Fascination Street Studios (SWE) by Tony Lindgren (Sepultura, Opeth, Kreator).

“Our album ‘Destroy’ will grab you and won’t leave you ‘til you drop, we tried to have many different rhythms and vibes to pump you in every way, our thrasher side; we include a very powerful ballad; some songs have some nü metal and aggro influences. It’s pretty much an homage to our influences but with our touch of groove and fun. Also, every song is a sing-along, we love to make songs that our audience can yell in our shows alongside us. We try to have a spicy wit in our way to say things so you can have a good time reading the lyrics as well.” – Sobernot

Saudi Melo-Death IMMORTAL PAIN Posts New Music Video For “Unhealed”

Earlier this month, Saudi melodic death metallers Immortal Pain shared their first taste of new music with the single “Unhealed” to follow their 2021 EP “Origin Demoes” that featured recordings from 2007.

Today, the band is supporting the single by unleashing their new music video for it, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/f7kfJCaDCz8

Digital – https://linktr.ee/immortalpainofficial

“A straightforward track with lots of deep feelings, motivation, and amazing melodies.” adds the band.

Formed in Saudi Arabia, Immortal Pain have been together since 2005, ripping up local stages with their take on melodic death metal. It has been a long time since they released music, but they are breaking their silence with a stand-alone single “Unhealed” via label Wall of Sound Dark Mode. The band firmly believes listeners will love this single as it will deliver an all-new original track that resembles the classic Immortal Pain vibes and energy with a modernized sound.

Over the years, the sound of Immortal Pain has definitely developed, as they have matured musically. They have been playing together for over a decade, and the chemistry is apparent. They continue to experiment with different sounds and techniques, but they don’t stray too far from the classic sound and style that they have become known for.

Immortal Pain’s live shows are packed with energetic, exciting fun as they consider each gig to be a celebration with their fans in a mutual love for music. They always give a 110% on the music and fan experience, as it is what they deserve. Along with playing live gigs this year, Immortal Pain will also be working on a number of singles, so fans can expect a lot more noise from the group.

Immortal Pain is powerful and melodic, adding an edge to typical melodic death metal. They incorporate personal themes to drive home the passion and emotion even more. They are recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Arch Enemy.

Montreal, QC – May 27, 2022

Rockshots Records – ANTHEA Shares New Video For Title Track From Sophomore Album “Tales Untold” Out August 2022

Los Angeles symphonic prog metallers ANTHEA announces their return in 2022 with their sophomore album “Tales Untold” to be released once again via Rockshots Records this coming August to follow their 2020 debut “Illusion”.

For the new album, Anthea has taken the reigns for a more DIY approach with vocalist Diego Valadez taking over also as the full-length’s producer along with bassist Eric “EJ” Guerrero in charge of music videos and photography.

“We released our debut album in 2020, but were, unfortunately, like everyone else, unable to tour or play live gigs. However, this gave us a lot of extra time to really craft this follow-up album into something special. Tales Untold was written and recorded throughout 2021 and I am so proud of the end result.” adds Valadez.

Fans of Anthea‘s first album “Illusion” will enjoy this one even more. The difference with this next record is that Anthea has a more mature sound and has carefully thought out the ebb and flow throughout it. Their end goal is to give a very dynamic and cinematic album in which the listener feels as though they’ve gone through a grand musical journey once they’ve reached the end.

“We also wanted to create a sense of escapism while keeping one fit in the real world lyrically.”

Today in preview of the album, the band is sharing with fans a new music video for its title track. The opening song is about how art inspires new generations of art forms whether it be novels, music, movies, poetry, etc.

“I just find the interconnectivity of it all fascinating. This song itself wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the music that we were influenced by, and their music wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for what they were listening to, and so on and so on.“ says Valadez.

The band released some demo songs as singles which quickly began gaining attention in the local metal scene. Anthea began playing more live shows around Los Angeles, opening for various bands including Smile Empty Soul, Helion Prime, September Mourning, and many more.

In late 2019, Anthea announced that they would be entering the studio to re-record their singles as well as some new material for an official EP that would be titled “Illusion.” It wasn’t long before the group was contacted by Rockshots Records. The label suggested that instead of releasing an EP, the band should consider recording a full-length debut album. If they did so, Rockshots would release the record under their label. Anthea agreed and began working on more material.

Illusion, the debut album from Anthea was released on October 23rd, 2020 under Rockshots Records. The album has received many positive reviews from several magazines, blogs, and podcasts. The three singles “Moirai”, “Illusion”, and “Reach”, have all gone on to receive international play on various rock and metal radio stations.

The band returns in 2022 with their second album “Tales Untold” due out in August 2022.

Harvested, a new band from Ottawa, Canada has a shiny new EP out, one that they hope will be picked up by metalheads worldwide that are looking for a different take on death metal. Diverging from the classing formula, they aim to inject it will modern elements including those from technical and brutal slam sub-genres. They have a new video out for their song “Bludgeoned” featuring a playthrough from guitarist Mitchi Dimitriadis and bassist Eric Forget.

Each of the five tracks on the EP revolves around mental illness, and further takes inspiration from horror and thriller movies/shows. “Bludgeoned”, about paranoia and schizophrenia, starts with heavy bomb blasts and leads into a galloping riff that compels the listener to bang their head. According to the band, it takes the spotlight on the EP because it introduces haunting yet melodic guitar and bass solos. They explain further:

“Bludgeoned” is a hard-hitting song that doesn’t dance around the idea of getting busy. It is musically and lyrically aggressive and we wanted to release this as a playthrough video to better illustrate the guitar and bass solo. It is the first song we wrote as a band and one of our more intricate pieces off of this release.”

The creation of the track also starts a new era for the band, as they now work collaboratively, each member adding their own feeling and experiences into the songs. The already dark music drives the lyrical content, twisted into a bleak and brutal retrospective.

Watch the playthrough for “Bludgeoned” via its premiere on Slam Worldwide https://youtu.be/uo54pWzyfyQ

The EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered in 2020 at Dark Moon Productions. The drums were recorded in 2020 at Silverwings Studios in Montreal. It is recommended listening for fans of Deicide, Suffocation, and Dying Fetus.

The self-titled EP was released on May 7th, 2022.

Hailing from Israel, Sinnery is a new take on the traditional death metal sound. They bring something more modern, with more melody, but maintain just as much energy and brutality. They have a new album coming out, the much anticipated “Black Bile”, six years after their debut. In the time since then, they have melted more influences into their sound, and morphed from a predominantly thrash sound to something darker, and heavier. Swept up with melodic breaks amidst the gutturals, they wrap their music in modern layers. The album contains ten tracks; the first of which, “The Burning” is the enticing debut single. The band explains it in their own words:

“The Burning” is probably the most popular song with the fans even before it comes out, the fans chant “God bless the human race” on every show so it was a no-brainer picking it out to be the first single off of the album. It is an upbeat thrash song with many heavy and groovy moments. It was perfect for the beginning of the album, to start with a bang, with no introductions or orchestral intros just straight-up metal from the get-go. Lyrically the song’s full name was The Burning of Mt. Sinai and so it’s easy to know this song is an anti-religious song, coming from Israel, religion is a big part of the atmosphere where we grew up, and we are not very fond of those establishments that are more about power and money than the lessons in those books they sell.”

Coming at the listener fast and hard is the name of the game for Sinnery. They infuse their music with real true emotions and messages, nothing about it is made up, it’s all very personal and they really dug into the deepest, darkest parts of themselves to write this album. They anticipate that it’ll be received well and expect that listeners will find that sense of realness in it amidst relentless riffs and catchy melodies.

“Black Bile” is fast and full of energy, making it the perfect record to spin when getting amped up. Whether it’s for driving fast, headbanging, or hitting the gym, this is a wickedly fun album to listen to.

Sinnery is recommended listening for fans of Gojira, Testament, and The Haunted.

ITUS – Sturgeon (2022) (single)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“We hope fans will enjoy the slightly more sludgy, heavier approach we decided to take with our newer material. With our new single, Sturgeon, we’ve taken everything we’ve learned in terms of the heavy music we all love, and we’ve applied it as tastefully as we possibly could. Sturgeon was written with a greater emphasis on hooks and a more focused direction musically. We want Sturgeon to sit as one of the heaviest songs we’ve created to date. We also think that people will really enjoy the music video we procedure together for Sturgeon, especially if you’re Canadian. The music video is a short horror story that follows Reinier around his cottage while he deals with an unknown assailant.” – ITUS

For fans of Crowbar, Conan, Windhand, Black Sabbath, Varials

“Blending their love of doom, stoner rock and its attendant psychedelia, Ontario trio Itus have created a colossal debut in Primordial.” 9/10 – Exclaim!

“Love doom and sludge metal, but find yourself frustrated that those bands that would monolithically crush the listener fail to pay nearly as much attention to injecting some measure of melody into their music? Ontario duo ITUS may be the cure to what ails ya. Starting with downcast sludgy stoner doom, the pair of guitarist Brandon Lucking and vocalist Reiner Vandenbosch also aren’t shy about making use of psychedelic rock and good ol’ fashioned heavy metal to get their point across. Think of it like Graves at Sea and Conan discovering the magic power of Tony Iommi’s fake fingertips and the blinding quality of a vintage Hawkwind live show.” – Decibel Magazine

“Primordial is a great release as it treats you to five unique tracks. Never once do you hear the same thing as ITUS truly does a great job of keeping you on your toes and guessing as to what you are about to hear next. Through and through this is a well crafted and cohesive effort that you would be unwise to skip over.” – Cadaver Garden

““This Can’t Be” is a change of pace from the record’s ravenous namesake single which came out earlier in the month. It’s a moving window into their world, with clean vocals this time reminiscent of Woods of Ypres and a vibe that fans of Pallbearer should have no trouble at all falling in love with.” – Doomed And Stoned

““The Chaplain” sounds like the languid expansion of the universe; the impassive serenity of planetary movement; the inexorable eroding of rock by wind and water; the absurd “progress” of humanity set against a backdrop of endless time. It’s achingly heavy and crushingly slow, just like epic doom should be… ITUS drive all thought from your mind and leave only doom behind… ” – CVLT Nation

“This EP is shrouded in a dark and eerie atmosphere from the instant you put it on, but despite that very consistent vibe, there is a lot of variation going on in the lyrics and sound. The production on here is immaculate, these riffs are just enormous, they swallow you whole… Just how I like my doom!… Seriously, the riffs alone are worth listening for! Definitely going to be the EP to beat this year.” 8/10  – Noob Heavy

“… an EP that packs a punch and holds its ground that’s for sure… The intensity really shines and each song generates it more and more. You have the rhythmic highs and lows of the genre and all your senses are overwhelmed. It really makes the listener want even more and you kinda feel depressed when it’s all over so you decide to listen to it all over again! This is the type of EP that you just place inside your CD Player or on your MP3 player and just let all that negative vibes leave your body. You just listen to it and forget about everything all around you especially in this world of sickness, chaos and crisis. A modern twist to an overcharged genre!” 8/10 – Metal-Temple

“Massive crushing riffs heave themselves out of the primeval sludge that provides the sonic backdrop for this crushing aural assault, which seethes and broils around you like a pungent stew sucking you deep into the bowels of the cauldron in which it is simmering. There is superb use of sound effects to create ever denser layers of atmosphere, which in turn add to the hypnotic quality of the five tracks, which themselves flow with an natural ease and sense of purposeful progression, which makes this release all the more intimidating and impressive in equal measure.”  – Uber Rock

“A very strong first release, and well worth checking out for doom fans looking for something with some brains behind the fuzz.” – The Burning Beard

“dark and brooding doom “Primordial is a powerful and unforgiving EP that is certainly worthy of your time.”  – Astral Noize

“crisp, and aggressive guitar tones” – Permafrost Today

“ITUS, from Toronto, Canada, provide a good blend of doom, heavy and psych vibes… Five songs in this Ep where blackened vocals enrich the doom sound carpet, trademark of the band.” – Hard Rock Heavy Metal

“Sturgeon is the first song that we plan to release among the other new singles we tracked in December of 2021. We are tentatively looking at releasing singles over the next coming months of 2022 and then releasing them together as an EP with some added material in the second half of 2022.” – ITUS

About:

ITUS was born in 2018 when Brandon Lucking (guitars) and Reinier Vandenbosch (vocals) began writing Doom Metal together. Fans of Conan, Pallbearer, Crowbar, Windhand, Electric Wizard, and Black Sabbath will find themselves tripping out on ITUS’ soundscape of horrors ‘PRIMORDIAL’, their debut EP. ITUS blends grueling sludge and epic doom with stoner rock and death metal. Crushing yet jammy heavy metal passages, infused within a psychedelic, horror atmosphere established their EP as ITUS’ first brutal yet eclectic outing.

The EP launched on Friday the 13th of March 2020. Covid seemed to strike right then with lockdowns, but given time to build, ITUS then recruited Vince Anastasi on drums, and the three boys started building in new directions both musically and professionally. ITUS has lined up gigs for 2022 and will be performing a slew of new singles alongside the music from their first EP. New music videos produced by the band are also coming this year in 2022. Keep your eyes and ears peeled and ready to catch some ITUS.

0 Join The Swarm With QUIESCENT MANTIS And Their New Lyric Video For “Shake The Cage”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 24, 2022

Join The Swarm With Quiescent Mantis And Their New Lyric Video For “Shake The Cage”

L-R – Johnny Mejia – Drums, Chris Trainor – Guitarist / Backup Vocals, Jordan Mckenzie – Bass and Vocals

Quiescent Mantis, born from heavy metal sounds crossed with old school science fiction movies, brings a new, campy lyrical vibe to solid traditional groovy riffs. The furious trio of guitarist Chris Trainor, bassist/vocalist Jordan Mckenzie, and drummer Johnny Mejia came together to deliver one face-melting lick after another while the ground below them shatters with breakdowns. They have an album in the works, but for now, they are releasing the single “Shake The Cage” with a lyric video. It started as an instrumental, but has since developed lyrics, the band details the track:

“It was the first song we wrote for the album with its sole purpose to show our music ability and a way for all of us to showcase what this next chapter in the swarm and our album is going to be like. We were shooting for a song that will keep the audience moving when played live whether it means headbanging, moshing, singing, or all of the above. The song defines our sound and our music abilities as better than anything we have released so far.”

Quiescent Mantis released their debut EP “Chapter 1” last year, and while they find their niche has gone from a more traditional thrash sound to a truer heavy metal sound with paper shredding leads, earth-shaking bass lines along with almost machine-like drumming. They aim to provide a unique experience with a mixture of old school thrash and new school metal techniques such as breakdowns which will be prevalent on the next album.

“Shake The Cage” will catch people’s attention as it is very melodic and heavy on great grooves. Add in some absolute crazy breakdowns and you have a track with a little bit of everything for everyone. Fans of Killswitch Engage, Pantera, and Machine Head will be especially interested in what Quiescent Mantis has to offer.

The lyric video for “Shake the Cage” can be seen via its premiere on TheCirclePit – https://youtu.be/DxEe1tnJTSQ

About:
Former scientists Chris Trainor, Jordan McKenzie, and Johnny Mejia were previously employed by Sub-atomic Weight of Acceleration Research Mechanics or S.W.A.R.M. While working on a project involving particle collision the team inadvertently tore open a brief doorway to the mantis homeworld exposing themselves to a mind-altering pheromone in the process.

The trio is now obsessed with opening the portal permanently allowing their mantis overlords access to our world; they are harbingers of the Swarm, selected to terraform and prepare Earth for the coming invasion. Wielding mighty instruments of sonic assault they herald the approach of the swarm of the brutal blend of thrash death metal and hardcore. The Swarm has slumbered in exile for far too long, the gates are ready to open, and it’s time to join the Swarm!

Montreal, QC – May 24, 2022

Reminisce On The Past Through ELEKTRIC MISTRESS’ Stoner Rock Banger “Radio”

New EP “Chapter 99” Out June 17th

Elektric Mistress is the kind of band you turn up on a long road trip cruising across the country in a convertible, with smoke billowing behind you. They have a new EP coming out “Chapter 99”, which channels the sludgy groovy vibes of bands past such as Black Sabbath, especially on the upcoming single “Radio”. The band comments on the single:

“We think any fans who enjoyed the first EP will enjoy our latest release. With the addition of Jason, we have a new layer of sound for fans to experience. ”Radio” is about how music or a song brings back memories of past relationships. It has our most Black Sabbath type riffs, for sure. Riley came up with the main riff on this one.”

Since the last EP, they have added a new guitarist Jason Cantfell, who is the twin brother of current guitarist Kyle Cantfell. The duo leans into their “Twinchronicity”, with mesmerizingly coordinated harmonies, and bolsters their sound with the addition of equipment including an impressive array of guitar pedals, mini megaphones, and synthesizers.

Appealing to the audio nerds out there, the tracks on “Chapter 99” were shoved through the super-rare CLASP system (Closed Loop Analog Signal Processing) at Fang Recordings to capitalize on that old recording sound. They crushed the hell out of that tape to add a unique dimension to their psychedelic sound.

Elektric Mistress recorded all the songs on their own, and cite that it was definitely a learning experience creating this album but they appreciate the ability to have more control over their groovy and technical licks. They are constantly writing new stuff so those impressed by “Chapter 99” can look forward to a bunch of new tunes in the future.

Elektric Mistress presents their sludge/stoner vibes, in classic drop D tuning and are working in Zeppelin-esque grooves lately as well, which will be presented on the next album. They are recommended for fans of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, and Kyuss.

Relive the past through “Radio” via its premiere on TheObelisk HERE.

The full EP “Chapter 99” is being released on June 17, 2022.

About:
Channeling the energy of inspirations such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Pink Floyd, Halifax, Canada Elecktic Mistress is all about the groove with their face-punching psychedelic stoner rock firmly rooted in what has come before, but also pushing towards what is ahead. If you’re looking for a true retro psychedelic synth-rock experience with a progressive edge, Elektric Mistress is here to deliver! Take a deep breath and ride the wave through a hypnotic haze of electric highs and sedated tones to take you back in time and return again.

Comprised of guitarists Kyle Cantfell (Guitar) and Jason Cantfell, bassist Kieran Richardson, vocalist Maxwell Poole, keyboardist, Riley MacDonald and drummer Valencia Canales , Elektric Mistress began their journey through oblivion in 2018, making noise on the Canadian East coast scene, which included performing on the area’s largest event, the Maritime Metal and Hard Rock Festival during the same year of their conception.

The band released their first debut in 2019 with their self-titled EP showcasing their unique soundscape of stoner rock ignited with crunchy, groovy guitar riffs, bombastic drums, dirty keys, and choice bass licks plus loud and raspy vocals. Now in 2022, the band returns with their follow-up and sophomore EP “Chapter 99” for release in June 2022.

The band adds: “Friends, this EP has been a long time coming. As a lot of other bands experienced at the beginning of the pandemic, not being able to gather as a full band or find open studio space kind of made making music difficult. So we decided to do it mostly by ourselves, at a distance. With some help, we got it done. We’re stoked to finally present it for streaming everywhere. We hope it’s worth a listen or three. We think we’ve been steady on the course as far as evolution goes for this next release. However, now that guitarist Jason Cantfell has joined the band, we’ve been doing a lot more guitar harmonies and stuff we couldn’t do before; the end part in Cocaine Johnny is a good example of that. Definitely expect more of that in the future.”

“Chapter 99” is due out on June 17, 2022 and will be available on all digital platforms.
