Israel’s StormbounD Is Now Streaming Their Symphonic Debut Album “December”

StormbounD have been together since 2018 and after a lot of work over the years, have a debut album ready to share with the world. “December” is a whirlwind of symphonic metal capturing all the elements one could desire in the genre. Cascading riffs echo against soaring soprano vocals, which are further complimented by deep gritty vocals and the thunder of drums that will have any metalhead whipping their hair around in delight. The band shares their thoughts on the release:

“The lyrics on the album tell some interesting stories, some more personal and some global, convey some harsh messages and themes, and deliver a wide array of emotions. We did our best to bring all of that into a cohesive musical environment within the realm of metal. We believe our album can reach many people inside the metal community, but also, in parts, open-minded non-metalheads. In our humble opinion, it’s just good music.”

“December” has a running time of almost an hour spread over nine tracks full of soaring vocals, a full barrage of guitar riffs, and an immense amount of melody. The lyrical topics usually reflect what they see and experience in modern society such as religion, global warming on one hand represented in the title track and “Fragments” and on the other hand relationships, be it romantic as in “Away from Here” and “Shadows” or others such as “Desert’s Roar”, “Child’s Play”.

The album was produced by StormbounD and Ian Post, it was mixed and mastered by Alex Zvulun at A.G Studio and the album artwork was done by Gogo Melone ART. The band says they are currently working on their second album, so fans can expect a lot more from the StormbounD camp in the near future!

Diverse and harmonic, with hints of darkness while staying heavy, StormbounD is accessible for both metal veterans and those new to the scene. They are recommended for fans of Delain, Amaranthe, and Nightwish.

“December” will be released on August 5, 2022, and before the album officially drops, it can be heard in full on Bravewords HERE.

THIRTEEN GOATS Conjure Evil In Music Video “Servant of the Outer Dark”

New Album Out Now!

Vancouver’s Thirteen Goats recently released their debut album “Servant of the Outer Dark”, which they describe as a love letter to old-school Florida death metal, classic 80s thrash, and a spattering of other genres. Now, the band has unleashed a new music video for the title track, bringing their creative songwriting and entertaining lyrics to life with visuals that recall hit arthouse horror films from recent years. Lead vocalist/guitarist Graham K. Miles explains the single:

“‘Servant of the Outer Dark’ chronicles the exploits of a certain dark sorcerer in his quest to return our universe to its natural state: complete and utter chaos. Mike came up with the foundation for this, and Rob contributed some really nasty guitar work that helped take it to the next level. I handled the vocal arrangement and the lyrics. They’re an homage to my favourite Stephen King villain, who was also a source of inspiration for our mascot and the broader concept behind the band.”

The video, directed by Nessa Aref & Alysson Hall, features Miles as a gun-toting adventurer who pursues a mysterious man in black (played by guitarist/vocalist Rob Fitz-Gerald) through a series of alternate realities where space and time keep shifting. Along the way, he receives a cryptic tarot card reading and encounters supernatural entities that either help or hinder his progress. The song itself opens with a thunderclap and a bell ringing while an acoustic guitar plays softly—until it is interrupted by the main riff and pounding toms. It’s full-tilt from that point forward as the chase gets underway.

Although they’re not directly adapting any existing works, the band and their creative team hope to clearly and respectfully tip their horns to the material that inspired them. There are plenty of easter eggs for horror aficionados here—in addition to Stephen King, the filmmakers count Akira Kurosawa, and Ari Aster among their influences.

“Servant of the Outer Dark” is also an introduction to the types of stories the band is interested in exploring. According to Thirteen Goats, the common theme running through their music is the transformative power of darkness—whether they’re writing about unsettling events in our world or in worlds beyond. It’s all summed up by their interdimensional, goat-skull-wearing demon mascot, Shepherd, and by the big catchy vocal hook in the single’s chorus: “Come fire, ice, and blackness, this universe must die; there’s such delicious madness waiting on the other side”.

“We hope this song inspires each listener to find and embrace the sinister magician within themselves,” says Miles, “because even though that person might be dangerous, that’s not always a bad thing—they can also be very empowering and a lot of fun.”

“Servant of the Outer Dark” may be the most melodic song on the record, but it’s also got some truly heavy parts. It is recommended for fans of Death, Megadeth, and Carcass.

The video for “Servant of the Outer Dark” can be viewed via its premiere on MetalInjection HERE.

The album “Servants of the Outer Dark” was released on July 1, 2022.

About:
Eclectic, over-the-top, and just a little weird, THIRTEEN GOATS takes cues from some of extreme metal’s most infamous acts (Death, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse) to create a tongue-in-cheek blend of different genre hallmarks that’s as hooky as it is heavy. This ain’t your dad’s death metal, but we kept the best parts. Horns up!

– 30 –

“This new song, “Return To Ruin“, is the first single from Thirteen Goats‘ forthcoming debut album Servants of the Outer Dark, a gut-punching and head-hooking offering of death metal that borrows liberally from many of the genre’s subsets, as well as bringing in elements of thrash, black metal, and grindcore…” – No Clean Singing

“With “Return to Ruin”, an unrelenting Thirteen Goats suggests it’s time to blow up everything” – Georgia Straight

“Get Weird, Wild and Wacky with Thirteen Goats’ Servants of the Outer Dark” – Decibel Magazine

“Metal Sucks – Beer Metal: More of Your Drunkest Song Suggestions – July 9, 2022 – Thirteen Goats, “Return to Ruin” – Rips, we’re here for it. Suggested by Dave M. Dave, worship the porcelain god.”

“Vancouver’s Thirteen Goats Don’t Care What You Think on ‘Servants of the Outer Dark'” – Exclaim!

“With a name like 13 Goats, it’s gonna be evil. It’s a cool thrashy, blackended groove metal, a little Lamb of God sound with a bit more heavy/brutality going on with a dash of black metal evilness. Great stuff!!”- Moshpit Radio – 89.9 FM (Madison, WI)

“Thirteen Goats make seriously good music and sound like they have a lot of fun doing it. They write great upbeat thrash songs with strong melodies that appropriately sway from sinister to camp and pull it off temendously. For some classic charcuterie of extreme metal mixed with a bit of tongue in cheek, you’re well looked after here.” – Heavy Mag

“Canada’s Thirteen Goats are incredibly fun to listen to and at multiple points subtly humorous and as such make themselves easily a breath of fresh air within the technical scene. That sense of fun is backed up with very proficient playing and dizzying creativity, far beyond what you would expect from a debuting act’s first full length… Servants of the Outer Dark is an excellent debut full length from these guys and I can’t wait to hear more!”9/10 – Metal Observer

GREBER (members ex-F*ck The Facts, The Great Sabatini, BIIPIIGWAN) Offer A Whirlwind of Hardcore And Grind On “Fabricated Purpose”

New Album “Fright Without” Out September 2022

Canada’s Greber are the no-holds-barred, to-the-point hardcore grind band that you have been waiting for, and for those uninitiated, they are a ferocious duo that keeps it on the low end, saturated with gritty vocals and a no-bullshit attitude.

Steve Vargas (drums/vocals) (The Great Sabatini, BIIPIIGWAN) and Marc Bourgon (bass, vocals) (ex-F*ck The Facts, Cancelled) have put out several albums, both full lengths and splits with an admirable array of bands. Their newest contribution is “Fright Without”, ten succinct tracks that may surprise longtime fans of the band. They cite, in relation to their evolution, that since 2006 it’s been an involved process and that having just one melodic instrument it’s sometimes as limiting as it is freeing. Right when Bourgon feels like he’s run out of ideas, another one emerges and Greber keeps puttering along. He explains the second single off “Fright Without” – “Fabricated Purpose”:

“Honestly, this is our best attempt at Masakari worship. The beginning hits the mark but invariably comes off the rails towards the end. The end needed something special and we’ve always been huge fans of all that is Kevin Keegan. He was kind enough to lend his golden voice to the track and we couldn’t possibly be more chuffed. When I sent Kurt the song he asked if it was Danko Jones on that part. I told him it wasn’t but was stoked that he knew who Danko was. The outro has some atmospheric drones courtesy of Sean Pearson.”

When asked how they will expect fans to take the new album, with its slightly divergent sound compared to their previous work, they explain that they have no idea, it’s the same but different. They muse that perhaps they are “over the hill and should pack it in, maybe this is the best shit we’ve ever written, maybe hard trance has always been the best fit for us”. It’s up to listeners to decide now, and those with an interest in Black Sheep Wall, Primitive Man, and Cult Leader should take note.

“Fabricated Purpose” can be heard via its premiere on IDIOTEQ HERE.

“Fright Without” is slated for September 9, 2022, and will be available from the following labels: Ancient Temple and Nofuneral for Vinyl, CD, and Cassette in Canada, Hibernation Release for Vinyl in the USA, and 7 Degrees and Fresh Outbreak for Vinyl in Europe.

EPK – Nameless King – Order of The Black Flame (2022)

Jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“With this EP we really wanted to set the best first impression possible with quality production and songwriting that wouldn’t feel out of place in a playlist with staple bands of the genre. We feel that even though it’s still early in the band’s life, we’ve already managed to carve out a sound that perfectly describes our identity and what we want to get out of creating music. It’s a perfect sum of all our different influences and the direction we want the band to keep going in. The response from people so far has been far beyond what we expected, and we don’t intend to ever stop that momentum.” – Nameless King

=============================================

The EP as a whole (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY)

A fast, in-your-face collection of four songs with songs that are very dynamic with many tempo changes and many elements from different metal subgenres from melodic death metal, thrash metal, and even hints of prog, black, and deathcore.

Track by Track (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY)

Track 1 – Amalgamated Kin

Lyrically the song tells the story of the boss character Oceiros, the Consumed King from Dark Souls 3. Musically it’s mostly pure melodic death metal, with a very black metal chorus along with a hardcore two-step feel to the solo section.

Track 2 – Imprisonment

This song is the outlier on the EP lyrics-wise and is the only song not about a character from Dark Souls, but instead about the game Super Monkey Ball. The lyrics were written in a way that unless you analyzed them extremely closely, you wouldn’t be able to tell they were about Super Monkey Ball. Musically it was written as a shorter, more standardly structured song with a high-energy power metal-ish solo section.

Track 3 – Order of the Black Flame

This track tells the story of the boss character Sister Friede from Dark Souls 3. It’s a very groove/thrash heavy song with the first full-on breakdown of the EP. We purposely had it appear later into the EP to make the breakdown section hit that much harder, hoping to have people not expect it.

Track 4 – Grand Executioner

This track is about the boss character Executioner Smough from the first Dark Souls. Musically it was designed to be very frantic with lots of sudden tempo and time signature changes, with every new section feeling different from the last, with a prog intro, hardcore breakdown, and pure thrash verses/solo section.Top – L- R – JP Sauve – Bass, JR Painter – Vocals, Kurt Steigleder – Guitar
Bottom – L- R – Colton Hession – Guitar, Steve Cuddington – Drums

Riffy melodic death metal from Vancouver, BC lyrically inspired by Soulsbourne and other fantasy video games

BAND STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS:

1. Every one of the band’s songs are about Dark Souls, with a small handful of songs about other video games.

2. We weren’t exactly sure when we wanted to start recording the EP until Jeff Black of Gatekeeper announced he wanted to start doing engineering for other bands aside from his own. We were the first ones to reach out to him so we get to have the honour of the first project he worked on! We’re so happy with how it turned out and how easy he is to work with that so long as he’s doing music engineering, we want him to be our guy.

3. As we were jamming and getting ready for our first show, Colton started playing Dammit by Blink 182 out of nowhere and the whole band joined in. That’s when we decided to end off our set by building up to what seemed like was going to be a huge and heavy breakdown, but kicked into a faster version of Dammit. The look on the crowd’s faces is something we’ll never forget, and it was incredible how wild they moshed for it.

4. At one point one of the lines in Imprisonment was “these bananas are a life risk” and we haven’t stopped laughing about it since. At some point down the road, we want to print that on the back of a shirt as an inside joke that literally only the band members will understand.

5. Despite being named after the Dark Souls 3 boss “Nameless King”, we have yet to write a song about him. One day we might get to it.

EPK – Deformatory – Harbinger (EP) (2022)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

For fans of Hate Eternal, Angelcorpse, Vitriol, old Cryptopsy, Origin

“For us, the artwork and concept of the EP were just as important as the music and songwriting. It’s a heavy and jam-packed EP that has a little bit of every genre wrapped in brutal death metal packaging. Our hope is that every audio and visual release that is connected to this album helps the listener dive deeper into the totality of our creation.” – Deformatory

EP Title: Harbinger
Release Date: September 13, 2022
Label: Independent
Distribution: Independent

Deformatory.ca | Facebook.com/deformatory | Instagram.com/deformatory | Youtube.com/deformatory | Deformatory.bandcamp.com

“It’s been a hot minute since we last checked in on the Deformatory camp, but it seems they’ve still got it. Harbinger is a short and violent little EP, a perfect bite-sized helping of chaotic technical death metal in the vein of Origin (but with better production). It’s about exactly as much material as you want from this type of music: nothing overstays its welcome, there’s absolutely no fat whatsoever, and it never gets samey or starts to drag. Perfect in its savagery and delivery.” – Toilet ov Hell

“even though Deformatory sound like a demonic battalion, there’s only two of them responsible for all the destruction. It’s also a thoroughly convincing sign that those two put on a hell of a live show.” – No Clean Singing

“Bandcamp New & Notable: Mind-flaying brutal technical death metal that will pulverize you to smithereens while its complex structures stun your cerebral cortex.”

“Guitar player and vocalist Charlie Leduc, creates a series of tracks which are both brimming with utter fury and at times dashes of a haunting melody. The EP’s final track ‘Dustcult’ sees a combination of the two with the melody being used alongside that fury with great results. Another massive improvement from past releases is the overall sound on the release, it’s a clean and potent sounding EP. All the notes come through crisp and clear to the ear and have real punch. The drum sound is also excellent as drummer Neil Grandy offers an excellent display of sonic battery behind the kit. ” – The Razor’s Edge

“A highly intelligent villainy possesses every moment and movement made by Ottawa, Ontario-based technical death metal duo Deformatory, not only on this latest mLP but throughout their twelve year reign as one of the more underappreciated Canadian death metal entities around. ‘Harbinger‘ reinforces the impossible extremity their core songwriters have long written into a cryptic cyclone of violent brutal death metal. In the midst of this destruction they now achieve a most readable brand of cunning riff and rhythm beyond their usual stabbing at the limits of actionable notes within a composition. Theirs is a craft ambitious enough to push the body to a point of physical pain, mercifully limiting their inhumane acts to three to five minute bursts as they further detail the sinister cosmology of the bespoke sci-fi universe threaded throughout their discography.” – Grizzly Butts

“It’d left me looking forward to what they’re working on next and impressed by the amount of work that’d gone into the densely populated and vivifying brevity of this release. A high recommendation.” – Grizzly Butts

“This band manages to sound like a maniacally possessed total frenzy, but it is also intelligible. That’s probably due to the fact that the guitar work comes from metal music, as opposed to being inspired by free-form jazz, prog or groove/core. The most basic way to explain it is to say that even though this is totally blasting insanity, the listener that pays attention will notice that there is a thrash heritage that is sped up but still tangible.” – The Metal Bulletin

“Intensely relentless & destructively intelligent; Harbinger checks all items off the death metal list with ease. Deformatory perfectly channels musical violence in all its unholy glory with this EP.” – TRVE North Reviews

“Uh, la la. What a piece of brutality. Yes. Only 4 songs, true that, short release, but very good. Technical Death Metal or should I say Brutal Death Metal… Hmmm… Anyway, this ep, is very good, very well constructed, very good riffs passages, some groove in the middle of the songs, but never losing the “weight” of the songs, and… Real brutality from the first second till the last second. Give them a try.” – Blessed Altar Zine

“Deformatory attack with lethal precision and serrated claws. Their technical brutality is very moreish, and these new songs are easy to digest if you like a stomach full of spikes. Well-written and delivered with passionate expertise, Harbinger doesn’t mess around. The songs are savagely energetic and imbued with the desire to kill. A storm of violent drumming, merciless riffs, and bloodthirsty growls erupt with barely any restraint, hunting and lashing out with a frenzied fury. The short release hurtles by in a tempest of bladed wrath and potent hostility.” – Wonderbox Metal

“Crafted with the utmost care, the band keep things both simple and traditional, organically writing in the rehearsal space, jamming and experimenting until something lethal reveals itself. ” – Metal Noise

“Ferocious would be a word instantly popping to mind when you begin listening to Deformatory. The music is excellently composed and played to a high standard with a non-stop barrage of guitars and drums incinerating your very ear drums. The good thing about Harbinger are the vocals, which also complement the instruments. Its not a case where they are drowned out by the music or become a little quieter, which can happen with some bands. Charlie Leduc’s voice functions as another instrument, which is the way it should be, so everything can be brought tightly together.” – Fed Up!

“Harbringer is  four songs  of heavy and ferocious death metal at it’s  finest. ” – Winter Torment Webzine

“A maniacal riff-fest colliding with pulverizing drumming and grotesquely executed vocals, Impaled Upon The Carrionspire is a memorable journey into a modern death metal portal of chaos. This is beyond a brutal wall of sound; it’s an experience that hooks you in, and guides you through everything you can expect to hear on the new album.” – Metal Injection

“Taking cues from the tech-est and brutal-est of brutal technical death metal, the duo from Canada’s capital have offered up a shining gut punch that sings, screams, wallops, growls and races in the same vein as genre masterclass mainstays as Immolation, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal and Origin. Plus, their name fucking rules!” – Decibel Magazine

“Brutally punchy and laced with annihilating streaks of black metal, cosmic machinations are put into bone-snapping focus through the band’s unrelenting technical death metal.” – Invisible Oranges

“Let’s cut to the chase: Imagine filling a syringe with unadulterated adrenaline, sticking it straight into your carotid artery, and jamming the plunger down with as much force as you can muster. That’s the effect of listening to DEFORMATORY… The whole thing is breathtaking in its careening and cavorting violence.” – No Clean Singing

“This is exquisite Tech Death which manages to avoid wading in wizardry over the top realms preferring instead to delicately balance both brutal and intricate arrangements for great effect. These guys aren’t fucking around.” – Cult Metal Flix

“DEFORMATORY play technical death metal with lashings of brutality. The songs are precise and merciless. It’s a controlled form of frenzied mayhem that the band unleash, one which is augmented by surprisingly potent streaks of melody, dark moments of atmosphere, infectious rhythmic devastation, and straightforward death metal brutality. DEFORMATORY know what they are doing with this style.” – Wonderbox Metal

“…a manipulated frenzy of technical mayhem… DEFORMATORY just demolishes many bands that are signed!” – Metal Nation

“Inversion Of The Unseen Horizon consolidates DEFORMATORY’s position as one of the finest acts in the Canadian metal scene” – Heavy Music HQ

“…for those seeking the most brutal and battery ram-like extremity, DEFORMATORY checks off all of the boxes that you’d like it to: strong musicianship and soloing, intense riffs and vocals, and just enough melody to keep it from going completely unhinged” – Dead Rhetoric

“[DEFORMATORY is] a band that takes both the “tech” and the “death” parts to heart in their songwriting.  Their blend of crushing brutality and technical aptitude is a force to be reckoned with.” – Toilet Ov Hell

From their destructive 2013 debut “In The Wake of Pestilence”, on through their crushing 2016 follow-up “Malediction” and into the vortex of insanity from their 2021 masterpiece “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, DEFORMATORY unrelentingly summon their creative darkness to deliver another slab of ferocious Canadian death metal.

Without acquiescing to the weakness of modern metal, they reach deep into the abyss of infernal intensity to deliver a new offering of blistering madness entitled “Harbinger”.

Every song, every riff, and every beat writhes through its own iterations to devour the listener beyond this EP’s 15-minute runtime. Make no mistake: these are 15-minutes you will never get back and you will never recover from.  The sheer energy your soul requires to withstand this offering of musical violence will render your very core into a depleted version of itself.

The phenomenal production of this album is the work of Topon Das (Fuck The Facts, Apartment 2 Recording), who impeccably captured the essence and intensity of DEFORMATORY’s vision. Every nuance has been brought to light, mixed, and mastered without sacrificing integrity in order to fit into the modern standards of extreme music. All instruments are real fucking instruments and each can be discerned without the overproduced wall of plugins & tone packs we have unfortunately grown accustomed to hearing today. There is an eerie atmosphere that lurks throughout this album and it can be heard clearly through every string, growl, and cymbal.

To visually encapsulate the onslaught of Harbinger’s music, the artwork was masterfully created by the one and only Paolo Girardi. He has, without any doubt, unveiled one of his best paintings to date for this album cover. Additional haunting artistic creations were devilishly assembled by UK’s Adrian Baxter to further highlight the darkness that binds the death metal onslaught of DEFORMATORY’s new EP.

This is unequivocal vitriolic rage. This is uncompromising animosity.
This is not trendy. This is not a safe place.
This is a maelstrom of maniacal death metal.
This is DEFORMATORY.

You have been warned.
Heed the Harbinger’s call.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 2, 2022

Canadian Death Metal Maniacs DEFORMATORY Hold Nothing Back With New EP “Harbinger”

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Deformatory unrelentingly summons their creative darkness to deliver another slab of ferocious Canadian death metal in the upcoming new EP “Harbinger”. The powerhouse duo of guitarist/vocalist Charlie Leduc and drummer Neil Grandy refuse to acquiesce to the weakness of modern metal, they reach deep into the abyss of infernal intensity to deliver a new offering of blistering madness.

Listeners can get a sneak peek of what’s in store this fall, as the band has released a teaser on YouTube at https://youtu.be/jlb68arCmjI

This pummeling four-track EP, as devastating as it is succinct, follows their destructive 2013 debut “In The Wake of Pestilence”, the crushing 2016 follow-up “Malediction” and the vortex of insanity that is 2021’s masterpiece “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”. According to the band, the lyrical inspiration was derived from an internal, vitriolic response to current world affairs and an innate compulsion to destroy. The writing style for these lyrics is more poetic and concealed in allegory to maintain their dark & destructive aesthetic. The band shares their thoughts on the album and what’s in store for fans, new and old alike:

“It’s a violently heavy and jam-packed album that has a little bit of every aggressive genre wrapped in brutal death metal packaging. We know that fans of all extreme metal spectrums will find at least one thing in it to enjoy.”

Paying the utmost attention to all the details, the artwork and concept of the album were just as important as the music and songwriting. Every audio and visual release that is connected to this recording helps the listener dive deeper into the totality of their creation.

A sonically relentless death metal experience, Deformatory is recommended for fans of Hate Eternal, Angelcorpse, and Vitriol.

This is unequivocal vitriolic rage. This is uncompromising animosity.
This is not trendy. This is not a safe place.
This is a maelstrom of maniacal death metal.
This is DEFORMATORY.
You have been warned.
Heed the Harbinger’s call.

“Harbinger” is being released on September 13, 2022.

Canada’s Hunting Giants are proud to announce their new record “Mythos”, a progressive, high-caliber album that will grab listeners and amaze them with intricate woven stories, energetic riffs, and distinctive vocals. Their first presentation from the new offering will be the single “Ancient Text” and its music video.

The single is a story about a doomsday prophecy from a long-forgotten culture. While lyrically referencing both archaeological discoveries as well as age-old myths, the listener gets to experience how a shaman from the distant past might interpret a meteor shower that destroys his tribe. The band explains further:

“Ancient Text weaves an auditory puzzle in the ear of the listener while it tells the tale. It was inspired by the Taurid meteor stream, a stretch of space densely packed with astral debris which the Earth passes through twice a year, as well as the unknown catalyst which initiated the previous ice age 12,500 years ago. This adrenaline-pumping track plays host to a soft and sensual breakdown where our shamanic protagonist bears witness to the coming end of days.”

Referencing both scientific discovery and age-old myth, “Ancient Text” is a wild ride that maintains engagement and leaves one breathless. Full of tension, and raging riffs, Hunting Giants ends the song with a rhythmic labyrinth of guitar, bass, and percussion framing the climax of their tale.

Hunting Giants is confident that new listeners, as well as those familiar with them through their previous release “Skyward Eyes”, will find an accomplished intensity and listenability in “Mythos”,which represents their musical growth and evolution. Each of the thirteen songs was specially picked for the album to contribute to the overarching story in a theatrical and energetic manner.

With riffs that will inspire and lyrics that will mystify, Hunting Giants is recommended for those who enjoy a 90s vibe and progressive elements, especially fans of Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and Audioslave.

Montreal’s THE OCCULT Presents Relentless And Gritty “Watch You Die” Off S/T Debut

Debut S/T Out August 19, 2022

Montreal, Canada’s The Occult are pleased to present their third single “Watch You Die”, off their upcoming self-titled debut album slated for a release next month. The single is the opening track on the album and a great introduction to a record full of catchy punk riffs, bouncy rock n’ roll energy, gritty yet melodic vocals, and lyrical themes ranging from dark and macabre, to critical and political all incorporating influences from 80s and 90s thrash to Seattle grunge. Vocalist/songwriter Eric Savanis shares his thoughts on the single, the upcoming video and the album:

“Lyrically, the single is pretty self-explanatory if you ask me. Musically, it’s very dynamic and certainly a favourite to play live. As for the rest of the album, while the songs might seem tongue and cheek at times, there’s magick permeating everywhere on the record. As a student of Western Hermeticism, it’s no coincidence that the band is called The Occult. Raf, our guitarist, worked his ass off on the upcoming video which is gonna blow people’s minds.”

The music video for “Watch You Die” can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/6-Lfr7_bUO8

Single pre-save – https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/theoccult/watch-you-die

The music and the lyrics on the album are all composed by Savanis. On the album, he is joined by guitarist Alex Klimantiris (Purple Meadow), bassist Gianni Berretta (House of Dusk/Beware) and drummer Justin Piedimonte (Immortal Guardian/The Chronicles of Israfel). The live lineup is different as is features bassist Carlos Carvalho & guitarist Rafael Corzo.

With a wide range of influences, there are elements in the music to satiate a colourful array of music lovers – some of their tunes relate to horror fiction, but they are certainly not a horror punk band. They don’t want to be lumped into a decisive genre as they find it limiting, they do lean heavily into lyrics of a darker nature including real-life events.

The Occult brings clean and accessible punk rock to listeners who are sure to fall into the vibe quite easily. They are recommended for fans of Misfits, Guns N Roses, and The Ramones.

The self-titled album will be available on August 19, 2022.

0 Rockshots Records – NeroArgento Opens The World To “Daybreak” Off Sixth Studio Album Out October 2022

  • July 29, 2022

  • · Music News · NeroArgento

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 29, 2022

Rockshots Records – NeroArgento Opens The World To “Daybreak” Off Sixth Studio Album Out October 2022

Award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer, NeroArgento announces he will be releasing his sixth studio album “Land of Silence” via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022.

An explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds, “Land of Silence” follows the success of 2020’s “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify.

“Land Of Silence” is the most coherent record to date from NeroArgento‘s discography. It’s a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers.

With great attention to every aspect, “Land of Silence” is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento. The record was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer).

NeroArgento adds:

“I’m super excited about ‘Land of silence’. This is my most consistent album, and every track sounds distinct. I always loved to contaminate and mix a lot of genres together trying something new, but as my past album “Circles” shows with its results, keeping a strong line and working on that is the best choice. I’m super satisfied also because once again I did and played everything on my own. The album has super melodic and mainstream moments, but keeps the focus on that line, so this is an industrial cyber metal record, while in the past the only kind of music definition could be classified as ‘crossover’.”

In lead up to the new record’s release, NeroArgento is sharing the next single “Daybreak” to follow the first track “The Way I Am” that was revealed this past June.

“Like “The Way I Am”, this is a single that can work well, working in the same “field” of the first single, but a little more Grungy,” adds NeroArgento.

Listen to “Daybreak” at the following links:

Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3zED5Cy

YouTube – https://youtu.be/awOR7Tn5JUo

NeroArgento is recommended for fans of Motionless In White, Falling In Reverse, and Bring Me The Horizon.

As a producer / arranger NeroArgento has appeared on more than 50 records released worldwide and is endorsed by ESP guitars, ML sound Labs, and Mad Cat Amps.

“he’s certainly showing some impressive chops on this album, where the vocals alone sound like they could be the work of multiple talented singers” – Powerplay Magazine

“NeroArgento has a fairly original approach and voice, it is familiar stuff yet done in such a way that these elements are used to create something that sounds new and fresh, modern and interesting.” – Hallowed

““Circles,” weaves a heavy path into the listener’s mind, delivering a slap in the face.” – The Median Man

“The single takes a step back to NeroArgento‘s roots, a mixture between industrial and cyber metal, based on very low guitar riffing, heavy drums but also super catchy melodies, featuring typical cyber-electro oriented synths and grooves.” – MetalForce (IT)

0 Extreme Metal Music – Out Now! Join “The Expedition” w/ Germany’s One Man Symphonic Dark Metal DAIDALOS’ New Album

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 29, 2022

Extreme Metal Music – Out Now! Join “The Expedition” w/ Germany’s One Man Symphonic Dark Metal DAIDALOS’ New Album

Join “The Expedition”, the debut symphonic dark metal album from Daidalos now available as of July 29th via Extreme Metal Music. The German one-man band was founded in 2020 by drummer/pianist Tobias Püschner (former drummer of the technical thrash band Revolt).

The album was inspired after reading a book on Captain Sir John Franklin’s Lost Expedition, a British voyage of Arctic exploration that departed with 129 men from England in 1845. Both ships, called Erebus & Terror, became icebound and after being trapped and suffering in eternal coldness for over a year, the remaining sailors decided to abandon their ships. Trying to survive, they set out for the Canadian mainland, but disappeared.

“The Expedition” is a musical journey through the Arctic Ice, on board with Sir John Franklin’s crew. The different moods the sailors had to experience at that time probably went from heroic and enthusiastic to absolute hopelessness and daily mortal fear. I composed these atmospheres musically and told them as a concept album / musical story.” says Püschner

“The Expedition” contains nine songs and has a total playtime of 47 minutes plus a bonus track.

Daidalos’ concept can be described as a full orchestral and dark emotional cinematic journey combined with aggressive vocals and harsh guitars. Most of the songs recorded on the upcoming full-length contain clean choir vocals and fast-paced drumming along with each song being written exclusively on the piano first. The idea behind this way of songwriting is to first finish each track’s own atmosphere with orchestral music and then use those emotions to create the harder parts.

For the recording of “The Expedition”, Püschner recruited guest musicians and friends Martin Simon (Kambrium) (bass/backing vocals), Fabio Rossi (Tryglav) (lead guitar), Francesco Petrelli (guitar), Noga Rotem (choir vocals) who will also support Daidalos on live shows.

“The Expedition” is recommended for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Wintersun, and Fleshgod Apocalypse an available at the following links:

About:
DAIDALOS was founded in 2020 as a one-man band by Tobias Püschner.

The band´s idea is to combine a classical orchestra with fast and aggressive elements, to create atmospheric breakdowns of different mental states.

This happens along epic historic events and stories, to develop a heroic and often hopeless sad feeling.

After sending some demos of the debut album “The Expedition”, Daidalos got directly signed by the label Rockshots / Extreme Metal Music in 2022.
