Unleashing their thrash madness this past September on Exitus Stratagem Records with their latest EP “Below The Summit”, Israel’s Sinnery was forced to take down the music as war broke out. Ready to re-upload their latest headbangers, the band announces that thrash fans can rejoice as the music is now back on all digital platforms as of January 16th, 2024 along with it being available on CD and Vinyl.

The EP picks up where Sinnery‘s 2022 album “Black Bile” left off, continuing their self-actualization journey through searing guitar work, pummeling basslines, and vocals that cut through like a razor. “Below the Summit” is a very fast-paced piece of music where a lot is happening all at once. It’s a journey further into the minds of Sinnery, the music and lyrics are a barrage of exactly what they feel in the most authentic and exaggerated way pummeling the listener with a wall of intensity. It is a very human experience that has been etched into this recording, detailing the strange times we are currently living through. The band comments:

“This record marks another important milestone in our lives and careers as we continue to explore further and expand the horizons of what Sinnery’s music can be. We put a lot of thought and effort into Below The Summit to try and get everything we can into it. We sat for hours producing it and sharpening every riff or word in it to make it an experience like we never did before. BTS is a moment in time when we didn’t know exactly how things will turn out for us, we were isolated in our homes when we began writing this, sharing ideas from afar. It was a special experience for us to write this record like this and we feel like we really put that into it.”

On this EP, Sinnery introduces new drummer Liam Fine who has written and recorded on the EP all while learning the band’s older material. In just four months Liam learned 19 songs and wrote four more. Doing so much all at once is probably the most “Sinnery” thing that could have happened to anyone joining in.

“Below the Summit” was mixed and mastered by Arie Aranovich and the album artwork was done by Xul1349 and inspired by a famous Japanese painting called “Thunderstorm Beneath The Summit” by legendary artist Katsushika Hokusai. The EP is recommended for fans of Sylosis, Metallica, and Power Trip.

“Fans of Kreator, Testament, The Haunted, Nuclear Assault and Exodus hopefully gathered ‘round and checked the band out, if not because they deliver thrash with passionate fierceness and frantic ferocity, but because it’s always interesting to check out what’s emerging from smaller and more obscure metal scenes from other corners of the globe.” – Decibel Magazine

“As we’ve come to expect from Sinnery, the EP is an electrifying high-speed romp, packed to the brim with blistering and bludgeoning drumwork, earth-moving bass-lines, blazing and eviscerating riffage, and strikingly intense vocals that manifest in different ways, from hardcore screaming to death metal roars and wrenching singing. But, also as expected, Sinnery switch things up as they fly. The opener “Somber“, for example, is a full-throttle and heavy-grooved assault, and a great example of Sinnery‘s incendiary intensity, but when the tremolo’d riffing and glittering lead-work take a bleak and even anguished turn, you understand the song’s name. It’s also a vivid example of why no one who’s heard Sinnery would ever brand them as “party thrash”. There’s too much passion in the music that’s born of difficulty and dismay.” – No Clean Singing

“the Israeli thrashers continue to slash open skin with voracious riffs and terrorising intensity on all fronts, even if one of the tracks is a very short interlude piece. ‘Somber ‘ smashes into the listener with full force vitriol ,super aggressive vocals, and that sense of nihilistic violence. The short fade-in to ‘An Ode (Knife Of Erato)’ gives you about five seconds breathing space before the song lacerates with acerbic riffing and caustic vocals. There is a brief semi-acoustic segment which leads into a tuneful bridging riff that I really like here and the EP spits out ‘Share This’ after the short interlude. Its incendiary attack is typical of the band’s wrathful intent and the EP closes with a very different tune called ‘Serene’. Its calm start leads into a slower riff where the far more casual and melodic approach is still balanced by harsh vocals which may indicate the direction the band will be going in future. 8/10” – Powerplay Magazine UK

“Israel’s Sinnery sound like they’d have been more at home in the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal. This mixes the best of 2000s metal core and latter-day Trivium across four high-adrenaline tracks.” – Metal Hammer UK

“the EP offers the finest Thrash Metal a la Trivium, Power Trip or Gojira. Every song pushes hard, backed up with Death Metal-like screams and plenty of tempo. A foretaste of a hopefully forthcoming album. I give it 8 out of 10 Hellfire points” – Hellfire Magazin

“”Sinnery’s “Below The Summit” is a solid concentrate of uncompromising Thrash, ready to destroy everything in its path. 4/5″ – Music Waves

“After their 2022 album ‘Black Bile’ this is a welcome return and is showing that Sinnery have got the talent to become bigger. Let’s hope for another full album soon. If it’s anything like this it will be special. 8/10” – My Global Mind

“Sinnery know how to go hard and deliver a crashing and banging level of thrash noise, with this EP serving as mighty example of that. Five tracks of dazzling speed, frenetic riffs, and pounding drums, all while the vocals roar and shout with pointed aggression. If you’re not head banging like crazy to the opening track Somber, there might be something wrong with you.” – Games Brrraaains & Headbanging-Life

“Comparisons have been drawn with Trivium and Power Trip, but it’s to Sinnery’s credit that they sound like no one but themselves, they’ve developed a signature sound that melds death and thrash to great effect, and Below The Summit finds Sinnery rising majestically.” – Devolution Magazine

“Those who live for a great amalgamation across the progressive, extreme, modern, and thrash genres may find Sinnery with Below the Summit very intriguing. A good teaser for what could be a blockbuster third album if these gentlemen push themselves into the right live show/festival action.” – Dead Rhetoric

“Only a year following the sludgy death-thrash Black Bile record, this new EP brings even greater amounts of energy and aggression.” – Metal Has No Borders (Album of the Month (Honorable Mentions))

“Full of passion, energy, and commitment, Sinnery have produced a fine EP which they can be rightly proud of.” – Ever-Metal

0 Moncton’s OMNIVIDE’s Debut Progressive Album “A Tale of Fire” Makes An Impressive Introduction With “Holy Killer”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 16, 2024

Moncton’s OMNIVIDE’s Debut Progressive Album “A Tale of Fire” Makes An Impressive Introduction With “Holy Killer”

Debut Full-Length “A Tale Of Fire” Out March 22, 2024

In 2020, Moncton, Canada’s progressive metal band Omnivide emerged from the remnants of the Opeth Tribute project called Sunbird. Seeking to move beyond paying homage to their influences, they dedicated themselves to crafting a unique sound all their own. The results of this hard work are being presented this spring with their debut album “A Tale of Fire”, which balances heavy, technical, and symphonic elements in a cohesive and intriguing progressive package. The first single, “Holy Killer” was one of the first tracks written as a band and it makes sense that it is the initial introduction many will have to Omnivide. The band explains:

“This song was written early in the album-making process and was one of those songs that helped us define our sound. The song tells the story of a man who has done terrible deeds in his lifetime in the name of the deities he worships, expecting a place amongst those deities in the afterlife. The song reflects this dark theme melodically, being composed of dark, grandiose sections and more brutal, in-your-face riffing that illustrate the various stages of this story.“

Watch and listen to “Holy Killer” via its lyric video premiere on TheCirclePit at https://youtu.be/gwIYIHQK_i0

Single pre-save (Spotify) – https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/omnivide/holy-killer

With this album, Omnivide is trying to provide a musical journey that people can listen through from start to finish while remaining engaged. The highs and lows in intensity and the various emotional tones of the songs, which range from dark and brutal to emotional and beautiful, provide contrasts that keep things interesting and moving.

Omnivide wants listeners to feel the pure excitement and energy of their heavier sections, moments later vibe to a beautiful clean section, and the compounding effect of those contrasting parts resulting in a unique experience that is deeply satisfying and rewarding musically. Suitable for a wide range of metalheads, “A Tale of Fire” is most recommended for fans of Obscura, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Opeth.

Due out on March 22, 2024, “A Tale of Fire” is available for album pre-save at https://linktr.ee/omnivide.

EPK – Confined To Oblivion – “Les Étoiles Filantes” (Les Cowboys Fringants) (cover single) (2024)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“For this song, we wanted to emphasize the catchy melody of the original by Les Cowboys Fringants. Starting with a tribute to the song, taking liberties by adding a modern breakdown, and concluding with an epic build-up. We tried to bring an epic and heavy version of a classic Quebec song. The same singalong choruses but we added a renewed energy that’s perfect for a metal Saint Jean Baptiste party.” – Confined To Oblivion

“Heavy as fuck, catchy when it shouldn’t be, immense instrumentation and tons of energy, this is a very fine melodic death metal release.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Headbanging-Life

Originating in Montreal, Canada, Confined to Oblivion emerged onto the music scene in early 2015, drawing inspiration from Melodic Death Metal and Extreme Metal genres. Following the release of their debut EP, “The Cycle,” in 2016, the band returned to the studio in 2018 to craft their second EP, titled “When Did We Stop Listening?”

Confined to Oblivion actively toured and performed at numerous shows across Canada, sharing stages with notable bands such as Unearth, Darkest Hour, The Agonist, and Beyond Creation. The addition of their new vocalist, Jean-Charles Carrere, marked a shift towards a darker musical trajectory for the band. This transition involved the incorporation of more intricate compositions, along with the introduction of black, death, and progressive elements.

The culmination of this evolution is evident in their latest album, “Resumption” (2021), a product of two years of meaningful collaboration. The album, mixed and mastered by Henrik Udd (known for his work with Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates), showcases the band’s commitment to pushing musical boundaries and exploring new dimensions in their sound.

FRENCH

When Did We Stop Listening?”.

Montreal, QC – January 12, 2024

METAL DE FACTO Unveils “Rise Amaterasu” Off New Album “Land Of The Rising Sun Part. 1” Out Feb 2024

Exploding onto the metal scene in 2019, Finnish power metal band Metal De Facto made their debut with “Imperium Romanum”, a full-length with a theme-driven collection of songs about Ancient Rome that was bombastically nostalgic old-school power metal. These fresh but familiar songs quickly caught the attention of metal listeners worldwide, notably with the first single ‘¨The Conqueror’ amassing over 200,000 video views and over 600,000 streams on various streaming platforms.

In early 2020, the band held their first headlining show in Helsinki, which attracted fans from all over the world to attend the show in a packed On the Rocks club. This success quickly led the band to continue performing live, opening for prime moving metal bands Ensiferum and Beast in Black.

Consisting of guitarists Esa Orjatsalo (ex Dreamtale) and Mikko Salovaara (Kiuas), bassist Sami Hinkka (Ensiferum, ssSHhh), keyboardist Benji Klint-Connelly (Everfrost) and drummer Atte Marttinen (ex Kivimetsän Druidi). It was announced however in 2022 that former vocalist Mikael Salo (ex Thy Row, ex Dyecrest) would no longer be the band’s singer. On the same day, the band’s new vocalist Aitor Arrastia hailing from Spain was announced along with the announcement of the band’s upcoming second full-length album, “Land of the Rising Sun Part 1.” The album will be the first of two parts, themed after Japanese culture.

Metal De Facto‘s latest single, “Rise Amaterasu” is a triumphant anthem that showcases their distinctive power metal sound. With robust and resonant tunes, the track captures the core of the band’s celebrated style. This release introduces the band’s new vocalist, Aitor Arrastia, highlighting their musical craftsmanship. “Rise Amaterasu” assures an engaging and dynamic expedition, maintaining the band’s legacy and enthralling listeners with its compelling storyline and impressive expertise, embodying the enduring essence of power metal. “I think the new single will shock some people. No one is expecting The Risen Dread to release something without a drummer. Also, it’s the fastest and heaviest song we’ve written so far. I guess for this single we wanted to deliver a quick message. Among all the new songs we have. “Betrayal” was the one that had everything. A song that shows a new version of the band. The fans can expect a lot more from where that came from. Based on the pre-production of the new songs to follow. We’ll be bringing more elements such as choir, orchestra and so on.” – William Ribeiro – Guitarist – The Risen Dread

=======================================================

About The Single Artwork:

We wanted something dark, black and white. That would reflect the lyrics. And the artwork catches that.

About The Single (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

The lyrics are about Blanche Monnier. A socialight daughter who was locked in a tiny room by her mother and brother at age 25 because they disagreed with her relationship. She was locked for 25 years in a room without light. She barely had water or food.

Musically, it’s a Death Metal song as simple as it gets. No beating around the bush. Heavy and catchy riffs. Fast double bass and blast beat. With a rest in the middle before we got back to the last chorus.

1. We got lost in a ferry back from the UK to France during the tour. We just couldn’t find the Van among all the trucks. It would’ve helped us if we were on the correct floor. But that was fun because they were about to open the gates and claustrophobic at the time.

2. During the tour with Vader and Marduk. The local promoter in Birmingham messed up badly with the schedule. He’d announced the doors would be open from 6:30 pm and we were scheduled to be on the stage. They opened the door at 6 pm the way supposed to be, but no one had realised that and everyone was standing and checking the merch area. So, there was no one in the venue when we started playing. It was towards to end of the first song when people realized we weren’t sound-checking anymore and they started to come in. We only found out about the promoter’s mistake after when people were talking to us. Almost the same thing happened the next day in Manchester. But we spoke to the Tour Manager said it was 6:05 pm people were lining up outside and the promoter hadn’t opened the door. They opened the door and we were allowed to start playing a little bit later than the schedule because of that.

3. When we played at Wacken Open Air in 2022, we were “all” getting to be taken to the stage. We got all gears ready to do. A van came to pick us up and we had everything planned and everyone knew what had to be done at the of stage. For warm-up, prepare the side banners. We’re on our way to the stage in the van and Marco asked: “We’re getting back to the dressing room, aren’t we?”, I was like “NOOO”. He hadn’t changed his clothes, we got to the back of the stage and he went looking for a place to change clothes. And he is supposed to be setting up the side banners. When I looked around I saw Marco behind a truck changing clothes.

Rockshots Records – LAST IN TIME’s Debut Album “Too Late” Out Now!

Italy’s Last In Time‘s debut album “Too Late” is now available from Rockshots Records as of January 12th, 2024. Inviting fans to experience a journey through various musical influences. “Too Late” is a rock album that combines the melody of AOR, the power of hard rock and metal, with a nod to 90s progressive rock. From the first track to the last, every song exudes energy and emotions, making it impossible to stand still in front of the speakers. The roaring guitars, powerful rhythm section, and charismatic vocals of the frontmen give each track an unmistakable authenticity and intensity. The musical diversions and sonic settings showcase a band that is not afraid to push beyond its limits and explore new sounds, without ever losing the essence of their vibrant rock.

Guitarist Massimo Marchetti comments on the debut:

“Finally, the long-awaited moment has arrived! We couldn’t be happier to present our first album “Too Late” to the whole world, in collaboration with Rockshots Records, of which we are truly proud to be a part. From the very first listen, it’s clear that we, as a band want to present ourselves with a level of maturity and confidence in its sound. We will do everything possible to earn the respect of fans with this record and our future live performances.”

Last in Time is a project that was formed in 2021 as a studio band, intending to record original songs in the melodic and classic rock/AOR genre. Leading the project is Massimo Marchetti, the songwriter, producer, and arranger of the group’s songs. The project has a diverse lineup (listed below), as it was managed as an All-star band, to ensure that each song had the right artistic touch. The ability to have multiple voices, including a female voice, greatly expanded the compositional proposal of the songs, allowing for a range of genres and nuances.

However, the group’s sound, while diverse, remains anchored to a common thread, which is a passion for classic rock in its various forms. The presence of experienced and motivated musicians made the album recording process a wonderful journey, which will continue with live sessions and the start of a true project focused on recording more albums in the future.

Recently emerging onto the Canadian metal scene with a distinctive sound and a fierce commitment to challenging societal norms, Marble Ghosts announce the release of their debut self-titled EP and the powerful single, “Old School”. The single is a thrash punk medley with a biting, unforgettable chorus that serves as an anthem for the disaffected. The song’s message resonates with those weary of being ruled by a vocal religious minority. “Old School” is not anti-religious; instead, it targets those who use their beliefs to promote hatred towards LGBTQ communities and advocate for stripping away women’s rights. Marble Ghosts explains further:

“With the words, “God is love and God is hate,” Old Shcool speaks to the way that fundamentalists twist and pervert teachings to fill an agenda of hate. This song is the fuck you to them. Fuck any god whose believers can’t accept love in different shapes and forms and who believe they can tell a person what they can do with their body.”

Marble Ghosts comprises a dynamic lineup that uniquely blends genres and generations, featuring a death metal drummer, an old-school metal bassist, a grunge-influenced singer, and a metalcore guitar player. This eclectic mix not only defines their sound but also underscores the band’s commitment to breaking musical boundaries.

Despite being a relatively new band, Marble Ghosts demonstrates a clear musical direction. Their first EP showcases five compelling songs that highlight their diverse influences and styles. As a band, they embrace generational differences, allowing their music to evolve organically as they grow more comfortable with each other.

Explaining the origin of their band name, Marble Ghosts draws inspiration from historical figures revered by some as pioneers and trailblazers but who also committed terrible crimes. The band seeks to call out the tradition that these effigies represent. Their music is recommended for fans of Shinedown, Saint Asonia, and Three Days Grace.

Descend Into The Death Metal Abyss With Playthrough Video For HATRED REIGNS’ “To Depths Unknown”

New Album “Awaken The Ancients” Out Now!

L-R – Jeff Calder – Guitars, Adam Semler – Bass & Vocals, Neil Grandy – Drums, Mitchi Dimitriadis – Vocals

Canada’s Hatred Reigns offers a brutal assault on unsuspecting listeners. They believe in a no-holds-barred approach and do not relinquish their grip until the last note is unleashed. Their latest release “Awaken The Ancients” is an eight-track sojourn into other worlds, paying homage to classic films and literature as well as their musical influences. For those who like to get into the nitty gritty, they now present a playthrough video for the track “To Depths Unknown”, which the band comments on, along with the album:

“Frantically falling, flailing to and fro,” the protagonist is caught in a whirlwind of uncertainty, grappling with the unpredictable twists of their destiny. Their ultimate destination remains shrouded in mystery as they descend into the abyss of the unknown. The album encountered numerous adversities during its recording process, including COVID-19 lockdowns, illnesses, technical challenges, and complex musical arrangements. Despite these hurdles, the band’s unwavering dedication has resulted in an album that defies conventional limitations.”

Vocalist Mitchi Dimitriadis, who mixed and mastered the album, played a pivotal role in bringing guitarist Jeff Calder’s vision to life. Together with Calder, Dimitriadis developed orchestration soundscapes, incorporating percussive sounds, spoken word elements, and digital sound samples into the music. Pedro “Lordigan” Sena, the album’s designer, crafted a masterful artwork piece that vividly depicts countless aimless souls preparing to face judgment. This artwork aligns seamlessly with the album’s thematic exploration and adds depth and vibrancy to the overall experience.

The tracks on the album are a testament to the band’s diverse influences, seamlessly woven into a unified entity that reflects their collective vision. The sonic journey they offer is a compelling fusion of their musical roots and is suggested for fans of Carcass, Behemoth, and Cryptopsy.

“Hatred Reigns’ Awaken the Ancients is Brutality in Sound and Theme… For those of you who can’t get enough of their brutal technical death metal thematically based on What Dreams May Come, Dante’s Inferno, Milton’s Paradise Lost, and love wallowing in the murky anguish of life’s darkness, take an audio gander at the stream of the album.” – Decibel Magazine

“this is a slab of high density, very technical death metal that fans will love” – Real Gone Rocks

“Hatred Reigns’ core death metal is sturdy, with bass guitar leads and overactive blast beats giving a technical spark to the album.” – Heavy Music HQ

“Hatred Reigns play to their strengths on this album opener (Awaken The Ancients), delivering speed and fury, but impressive agility as well as aggression. They unleash madness in the viciously sizzling and skittering riffage and ruthlessness in the bone-smashing hammer blows that segment the frenzies, and the monstrous guttural growls expel the words in barks that are almost as fast as the backing instrumentation. But the band also switch things up, slowing the tempo and injecting weirdly swirling arpeggios and then hitting the accelerator to bring forth an even more demented and delirious escapade, this time fronted by crazed screams and screeches as well as gritty growls, and propelled to further heights of lunacy by a fret-melter of a solo and bursts of maniacal drum battery. When the band decelerate again, the chords elevate it into an otherworldly realm, both menacing and haunting, and the band also layer in a little bass solo, a few humongous bass drops, and a hulking, lurching stomp. But of course they go back into the fast lane for one last burst of high-adrenaline barbarity as the song surges to the end.” – No Clean Singing

“‘Departing Archeon’, grabs me where I didn’t expect (You can see the video for this at the bottom of this page). This time the vocal and lyrics are instantly engaging… accessible and menacing ‘Welcome… We’ve been waiting for You…’ which somehow made me smile from ear to ear. And just wait for that main riff – it’s f**king perfection. Simple, brutal and so utterly worthy of a headbang. Looking over the release notes they compare their release to ‘Origin’, Suffocation, and Hideous Divinity, but I’m getting vibes of classic Thrash and Death Metal. Think early Sepultura, Gorefest and Carcass, especially with that DIY ethos those thrown in too. It enables them to keep their influences close to their heart and do exactly what they want to. Overall, it took me a few listens to the album to appreciate how good it is. It’s a complex album that doesn’t hide behind overly technical playing … it knows how to keep the riffs simple, crunchy and heavy… Incredible stuff.” – Music Trespass
