Montreal, QC melodic death metal band Hollow is proud to unleash their debut full length ‘Mordrake’ out today on May 30th and now available on iTunes and Bandcamp with a limited edition Hate T-Shirt designed by Bob Skelton, the acclaimed airbrush artist responsible for the band’s corpse-paint. Produced at Uplift Studios by Kevin Jardine (Slaves On Dope) and co-produced by Dan Lauzon (Entropy) and Hollow, the debut is the follow up to the band’s 2010 EP ‘Cynoptic Eschaton’ and features 12 extreme tracks all recorded with an unique analogue approach. Without the use of any triggers, midi or copy/paste editing, the album showcases live off the floor performances that bring a breath of fresh air into an over-compressed and digital world of today’s recordings. Since 2009, Hollow has been conquering audiences across Québec and Ontario with their unique look and high-energy stage performances, which has seen them perform at festival such as Heavy MTL and Trois Riveieres Metal Fest plus share the stage with names such as Voivod, Suffocation, Sword, Jungle Rot, Blackguard, The Agonist,1349, Tyr, Orphaned Land, Aborted, Augury and many more.

Recently wrapping up their ‘Rated M For MaTour’ that included a showcase at this year’s Canadian Music Week to add their 500+ shows and collection of over 100,000 miles during their multiple past tours across Canada, the UK, and the States. Ottawa, ON video game rock nerds Double Experience are taking no time to hit the road again and going South to the USA for their ‘Smells Like Freedom Tour’ this June, which includes performances at Pegasus Records Store in Florence, AL and video game stores Game Over in Houston, TX and Austin, TX.
“Though this won’t be our first time touring in the USA, each show we booked was in a city or state we have never played before. We’ve already compiled another list of dream locations to visit based on the Food Network, too.” comments bassist Tim Kealey.
The band is gearing up for the August 1st release of their forthcoming album ‘721835′ recorded by fellow science-fiction aficionado Al Jacob (He is Legend, A Skylit Drive) in North Carolina. A curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy, the album showcases a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences to follow up their 2011 EP ‘One Big Quicksand’ recorded and produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) that was released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.
Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music that Chimaira, Machine Head, and Hatebreed would be proud of, and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.
With three full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title,” “Sandwich,” and their holiday album, “The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride” – the band released their latest record, “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D,” in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.
After a successful 2013 that saw these touring ninja warriors hit the road for multiple shows on the ‘Our Tour Can Beat Up Your Tour’, ‘Blow Your Fingers Off’ summer tour, their late summer dates with American Head Charge plus appearances at summer fests that included Rockapalooza, A2 Fest, Breast Fest Biker Bash, and Dirtfest. One Band Will Rule Them All!
Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce their national final line up consisting of bands from across the country. After hundreds of submissions and over 100 bands selected to compete in the battles that took place from the West coast of Vancouver to the Rockies of Alberta in Calgary and Edmonton to central Canada in Toronto and Montreal. The final line up consists of Canada’s top independent metal bands for one to rule them all and perform at the international Wacken Metal Battle during Wacken Open Air 2014 taking place from July 31- Aug 2, which saw last year’s Canadian winners Crimson Shadows become the 2013 WMB international champions.
The national final in Toronto will take place on Saturday, June 7 at Opera House (735 Queen St E.) with Neck of The Woods from Vancouver, Exit Strategy from Calgary, Mutank from Montreal plus My Hollow and Burning The Day from Toronto with guest headliner Skull Fist closing the night. One band will be chosen by a panel of music industry judges that includes Robb Reiner (Anvil), Noel Peters (Inertia Entertainment), Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle Of Filth), Jon Asher (Asher Media Relations), Adam Sewell (Riot, Rock Management / Stereo Dynamite), Darrell Shelley (Scene Magazine), Tim Henderson (BW&BK), Drew Copland (Villainizer).
WMBC organizer JJ Tartaglia comments:
“We are absolutely stoked about the line-up for the Finals. These bands are the best of the best, and they’ve proven themselves round after round to earn their place on the Final stage. There will be passion, sweat, and glory. Let this be a testament to what Canada has to offer in metal music.”

About: Over 100 independent Canadian metal bands have were selected to participate in this year’s Wacken Metal Battle Canada line up in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The bands competed during the months of March, April and May in 22 qualifying rounds, 6 semi-finals, and an Alberta final along with the national final to be held on June 7th in Toronto, ON at Opera House.
One band will be chosen to represent the nation with highest honour at this year’s 2014 international battle at the world’s most prestigious metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany.
The finals will have the following representation and will be judged along with all other rounds by a panel of music industry representatives.
1 finalist from Vancouver, BC
1 finalist from Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton will face off in Alberta final)
2 finalists from Toronto, ON
1 finalist from Montreal, QC
Last year’s battle was witnessed to Toronto, ON’s epic power/death metal band Crimson Shadows not only winning the 2013 Canadian final but conquering the international final and performing in front of thousands unknown to their behemoth sound. The band joined a list of Canadian heavyweights such as Voivod, Exciter, Razor, Annihilator, Anvil, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, 3 Inches of Bloods, Despised Icon and Danko Jones who have performed at the festival in years past.
Submissions were open from December 5, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

Wacken Metal Battle Canada Announce Montreal Semi-Final Winner MUTANK; National Final Line Up Complete For June 7th In Toronto; One Band To Rule Them All!
Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce MUTANK the winner of last night’s semi-final in Montreal winning against Ogenix, Hidden Pride, and Fanachronic. MUTANK will now move on to the national final in Toronto on Saturday, June 7 at Opera House (735 Queen St E.) where they will join Neck of The Woods from Vancouver, Exit Strategy from Calgary and My Hollow and Burning The Day from Toronto. One band will be chosen by a panel of music industry judges such as Robb Reiner (Anvil), Noel Peters (Inertia Entertainment), Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle Of Filth), Jon Asher (Asher Media Relations), Adam Sewell (Riot, Rock Management / Stereo Dynamite), Darrell Shelley (Scene Magazine), Tim Henderson (BW&BK), Drew Copland (Villainizer) to perform at the international Wacken Metal Battle during Wacken Open Air 2014 taking place from July 31- Aug 2. One Band To Rule Them All!

About: Over 100 independent Canadian metal bands have been selected to participate in this year’s Wacken Metal Battle Canada line up in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The bands will compete during the months of March, April and May in 22 qualifying rounds, 6 semi-finals, and an Alberta final along with the national final being held on June 7th in Toronto, ON at Opera House.
One band will be chosen to represent the nation with highest honour at this year’s 2014 international battle at the world’s most prestigious metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany.
The finals will have the following representation and will be judged along with all other rounds by a panel of music industry representatives.
1 finalist from Vancouver, BC
1 finalist from Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton will face off in Alberta final)
2 finalists from Toronto, ON
1 finalist from Montreal, QC
Last year’s battle was witnessed to Toronto, ON’s epic power/death metal band Crimson Shadows not only winning the 2013 Canadian final but conquering the international final and performing in front of thousands unknown to their behemoth sound. The band joined a list of Canadian heavyweights such as Voivod, Exciter, Razor, Annihilator, Anvil, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, 3 Inches of Bloods, Despised Icon and Danko Jones who have performed at the festival in years past.
Submissions were open from December 5, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

About: Malignancy formed in February 1992 from the initiative of vocalist Danny Nelson and guitarist Javier Velez.They released their first demo titled Eaten Out From Within in April 1993. After multiple line-up changes and three more demos the band finally secured a deal with United Guttural Records in 1998. Shortly after, the band released their first album, Intrauterine Cannibalism in Spring of 1999. Soon they released an EP titled Motivated By Hunger. In 2001 a compilation entitled Ignorance Is Bliss was released through Primitive Recordings. It contained material from the Eaten Out From Within and Ignorance Is Bliss demos, and a 1998 promo CD. In 2003 they released one more EP, called Cross Species Transmutation. After the release the band began a three-year long search for a new label, which ended with them signing to Willowtip Records in 2006 and releasing a full-length titled Inhuman Grotesqueries on 7 August 2007. The band released Eugenics, its third full-length, in 2012.
