In additional news, those local to Montreal are invited to the band’s FREE entrance CD launch presented by Hennessy at Le Plateau Lounge (901 Rue du Square-Victoria) on May 26th. THE RISING FEW will be joined by friends Po Lazarus opening the event with an acoustic set. The launch will also be in a gallery-like setting with a hand drawn replica of the massive mural painted by THE RISING FEW vocalist Karim Terouz (watch here) up for auction along with installation art. Plus on location at the event, THE RISING FEW will be joined by The Vocalist Magazine, the Bell Media documentary show that highlights Montreal artists on Bell Fibe TV.

About “Adult Entertainment”:

Cairo born singer-songwriter, Karim Terouz, fronts the now expanded THE RISING FEW, a culturally diverse group of Montreal musicians from scattered points of the world (Haiti, France, Syria, Canada, Brazil, Armenia and Egypt) that seem to converge in their shared love for melodically constructed, Springsteen inflicted rock and roll storytelling.

With their new EP, ‘Adult Entertainment’, the follow up to their 2014 debut album “Sinners On St-Laurent’”, THE RISING FEW have transitioned from their beginnings as a folky local singer songwriter/backing band to stadium-worthy rock for the world’s global mainstream stage.

Delusional behavior is the main theme driving this new EP’s lyrical and musical content. Songs like “Big Boy Games” illustrate the act of treason while ‘’The Sinking of The I’m Alone’’ depicts the historical sinking of the Canadian schooner the ‘’I’m Alone’’ during the prohibition era. Other songs like the hypnotic “Try Try Again” flirts with the delusion of failure while the subtle ‘’Lights and Shadows’’ tackles melancholy in love-loss, as you cannot fight without loving. The generous EP also contains 2 additional bonus tracks.

“It was GO BIG or GO HOME! We’re all recent immigrants to Canada and in a time where cultural differences are threatened, THE RISING FEW take the chance to promote their unity, by tackling these issues and presenting them in classy, colorful, adult contemporary rock.” says Karim Terouz.

Track Listing:

1. Try Try Again (Gonna Need A Helping Hand) (4:24)
2. Gullible (4:08)
3. The Sinking of The I’m Alone (3:22)
4. Big Boy Games (2:52)
5. Save Yourself (2:52)
6. Lights And Shadows (5:16)
7.Try Try Again (Bonus) (3:40)
8. Hit The Monarchy (Bonus) (2:46)

EP Length: 29.24

Montreal Alt-Rockers THE RISING FEW Posts New Lyric Video ‘Try Try Again’ + POP Montreal Sept 23rd

Upcoming Show Dates
Sept 23 – Montreal, QC – Club Lambi – POP Montreal – info

Set to perform at POP Montreal on Sept 23rd, THE RISING FEW led by frontman, illustrator and singer-songwriter Karim Terouz along with Harvey Bienaimée (Drums) and Hubert Tremblay (Guitar) have posted a new lyric video for their latest single ‘Try Try Again‘, which is the title track off their upcoming EP set for release in early 2017.

Fusing raspy rock vocals with rhythm & blues, visceral lyrics and dark undertones, The Rising Few deliver a heart wrenching, commanding vibe to every room they play. As if The Tragically Hip crossed with The National, Interpol with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band or even Cat Stevens/Leonard Cohen crossed with Audioslave! Their ambiance dominates a live stage with a high octane, fully emotional rock show.

The watch their lyric video ‘Try Try Again’, please visit the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwbN2X0tJCU

‘Try Try Again’ is also available on iTunes at the following link here.

The EP will be the follow up to the band’s previous single ‘Big Boy Games’ (music video), and their 2014 debut album ‘Sinners of St. Laurent’ (album stream) produced by the great Glen Robinson whoms mixing and mastering credits have been involved in projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, The Steve Miller Band, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career. The album was a tribute to the city of Montreal that band founder Karim Terouz has adopted as his new home after immigrating from Cairo, Egypt in 2008 to finally live the artistic life he desired.

About:
When professional illustrator Karim Terouz left his hometown of Cairo at the age of 25, he not only made the ballsy decision to brace the blistering Canadian winters, he also chose to seek out a whole new career path in Montreal, QC.
Turning to his true passion – music – Terouz began visiting every open mic night imaginable, which is how he came to discover Hubert Tremblay (Guitars) and Andrew Sudlow (Bass), the rest (Isaac Gesse on Trumpet and Harvey Bienaime on Drums) followed through to complete The Rising Few.
Fusing raspy rock vocals with rhythm & blues, visceral lyrics and dark undertones, The Rising Few deliver a heart wrenching, commanding vibe to every room they play. As if The Dave Matthews Band crossed with Audioslave, Interpol with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band or even Yusuf Islam/Leonard Cohen crossed with The National for a more intimate ambiance dominating a live stage with a high octane, fully emotional rock show.
After multiple live shows and a first place win at the LME showcase competition (http://www.landmarkevents.net) in which the band beat out 200+ others for top honours, The Rising Few unveiled its first album in 2014, ‘Sinners On St-Laurent’ that was produced by the great Glen Robinson whoms mixing and mastering credits have been involved in projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, The Steve Miller Band, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career.
“Since my schedule as a bartender was the dominant headline of my new lifestyle, I decided to write about it,” says Terouz. ”Sinners on St-Laurent was really an observation of the new guy in town to the nightlife of Montreal, yet it was written with a slight abstract touch to leave the space for the listener to relate to his/her own experiences. It depicts the colours and sultry details of Montreal’s nightlife.”

“Self Managed and unsigned, it can only be a matter of time before the weasels sniff this one out” – FYI music.

“Rising Few’s eclectic debut captures Plateau vibe: Sinners on St. Laurent marries folk and blues with artfully constructed, narrative-driven melodic rock writing.” – Montreal Gazette

“Ce qui est certain, c’est que ‘The Rising Few’ donne un sentiment réellement Montréalais! Entre leurs paroles anglaises et françaises, les mélodies dynamiques et sereines et les paroles parlant d’amour et de solitude, on peut imaginer les petits cafés du plateau, les bars animés de St. Laurent et les rues vives et pleines d’énergie de Montréal!” – The Indie Blender

“Like how Springsteen is New Jerseys favourite son, Karim is making his way into becoming Montreal’s favourite adopted son. The Rising Few is bringing back what Montreal is lacking, a musical voice to our great city.” – Montreal Music Scene

“the album has an amazing, unique sound and the vocals are extremely impressive. There are tracks for when you’re having a slow day, or tracks for and upbeat evening. “Sinner’s on St. Laurent” is a wonderfully put together album that would be welcome on folk/blues and rock/pop fan’s shelves alike.” – Canadian Beats

“Their debut album begins with the title track “Sinners On St. Laurent” you will be quickly taken away by the smoothing vocals of Karim Terouz. Karim’s smooth and slick sounding Jazz/pop vocals graciously flow throughout the song.  As well as the vocals the lyrics are quite cleverly written by Karim as well, the lyrics come straight from the visual exposures from which Karim has taken in while living in Montreal. The instrumental aspect of the song goes perfectly hand in hand with the vocals as well. . If you are intrigued by lyrics such as I am you will be delighted with the full composition and arrangement of the song. ” – Kingston Music Reviews
